Hi! I really like your worldbuilding and was wondering if you had any ideas for how their equivalents of a printing press would be considering that Firth mentions getting the paper and I imagine they have some type of reading material like books or scrolls.
Like if they use ink of some sort, the most obvious answer being from squids on some level or if they have a different form of manufacturing it as since squids are sapient here, they probably wouldn’t be too enthused about being mined for ink. Or it’s something like old thrown out paints, inks, and writing material from humans, though either way the question of how they would get certain materials to adhere underwater is questionable in itself. There are such things as waterproof paper and underwater writing utensils but I don’t imagine those would be common to come by nor do I think they would have that great of a ability really have much of the ability to manufacture them themselves on a large scale.
Or they just cut out the letters and symbols from stuff already printed by humans serial killer style, sort of like what the Bottom Feeders sign does
Hi, I wrote this one out in a doc to format it because i was thinking about so much information. This is going to be typed more formally than it would be otherwise because my program autocapitalizes lest i go insane. Its gonna be a little disjointed regardless. <3 giant wall of text under the cut im not subjecting anyones dash to this unprompted
As a preface: gonna assume paper, fabric, and other organic and/or delicate goods have a longer shelf life in this society, taking the same stance as for in-game props made of these materials. The cigarettes do not really dissolve and some paper can exist indefinitely, though it and cardboard are understood to be soggy. Whether this is due to sapient creature activity/preservation, or just due to the more cartoon logic of the setting and game design needs.
like this is just a good statement for my analysis and reads on this game's worldbuilding in general: there are a lot of things in crabgame that are not scientifically accurate and that is literally the most ok thing in the universe because of the needs of the gameplay, the story, just like ETC there is a lot of love for the real ocean in crabgame and thats what matters, and ill work around that. i, however, am also insane.
Also keep in mind that humans dont really do manufacturing and crafts underwater so while i’ve tried to keep water stuff in mind there is just not the info for how making oil based inks or individual batches of paper would work underwater yknow? Educated guesses. Wikipedia educated guesses.
Further assumption: Definitely agree with what u said about crabs not really having an ability to manufacture stuff on a large scale. I’m gonna assume factory work could definitely be a thing, but maybe not widespread like… industrialization. Industry is certainly a big and well-known thing in new-carcinia, and i don’t doubt that shellfish co. probably has some machine-powered factories, but most industry is probbbably going to be supplied through scavenging either way, even if it also includes craft and such.
Third assumption: easy answer is that due to the trash economy yeah a lot of paints and inks used in theoretical printing, writing, and art would probably be, and have been scavenged from trash for a long time, probably superceding any of the previously implied small factories or home production joints. This isnt to say that these production methods could not be adopted for the trash economy though. Ill get into it.
(clears throat) with all that said, through my basic research id have to say i think much manual writing and art, if made either through wholly original production or a mix of scavenging and refining, would be done through an equivalent to Grease Pencils, a wax writing tool which can make marks on hard and glossy surfaces, such as (relevant to crabs or other water critters) rock, ceramic, glass, metal, etc. there are many sources pigments for these writing implements could be derived from, like iron oxides (for use in reddish dyes), tyrian purple (there is actually a snail in the pacific that can be farmed for this dye without execution, Plicopurpura pansa iirc, who knew!) and carbon (ill return to this).
You mention the ethical concerns of farming sapient squids for their ink and I do agree with those, no matter how much ink cephalopods produce its still like… a resource made from a person and production cant exactly rise to demand without the horrors occurring. However, i’m mostly just skeptical of how useful squid ink would be for writing underwater. This ink is almost entirely melanin particles bound together with mucus, which does eventually disperse in water. Not to say it couldnt be collected, but i feel like underwater application would be kind of a fruitless task.
As an aside, with the general (really frightening (in a good way) to me) lack of molluscs we see in another crab’s treasure, tyrian purple or anything derived from molluscs would likely be largely out of the question. Some sea hares can also eject ink colored from the pigments they ingest from seaweed but also, this ink is toxic and… same mollusc problem. I guess people irl can eat sea hares so maybe with prep crabs could… who knows . Oh fuck pigments could be derived from seaweed and algae. Keep that in mind.
I don’t… reject the possibility that crab society could have agricultural or dye farms but we only hear tell of like… One sardine farm and it is not sounding good for them. I don’t think these guys would really have any incentive to farm as little guys who can eat most things, one soldier in slacktide mentions scavenging heartkelp with their own claws. Probably some very small operations if any.
ASIDE OVER THAT WAS JUST PIGMENTS MOSTLY, to me the tricky part is what IS the waxy part. The grease. The thing that does not dissolve in water. Again, these component parts can probably be scavenged (and probably Have been scavenged since even before the trash economy, canisters of wax definitely fall overboard whaling ships and such) but i honestly can’t think of many ways a crab could make such a substance wholecloth. Perhaps creation of a quasi-inkstick with agar-agar or animal glue (fish glue/isinglass) and pigment? Which would naturally be a bit wet and wouldnt need an inkstone to gather the substance onto the printing apparatus.
For the stuff crabs actually write or print on, assuming a form of this is possible underwater i think pressed homemade paper would be a perfectly reasonable option for small-scale applications, though honestly imo “the paper” (newspaper) that firth mentions is probably printed on either re-used scavenged coated paper or scavenged/manually flattened thin plastic sheets. With access to machinery, shellfish co. would likely be able to manufacture thin plastic sheets, the npc LaTuna mentions her dress being created somehow by Shellfish co. and so i dont doubt that type of simple production is possible. We also see a lot of writing on cardboard so im gonna assume scavenged paints or these like. Agar inks and paint stamps will work on those? Maybe with some kind of sealant…
And of course as u mention bottomfeeders and shellfish desires both have signs that are made out of english letters that were pre-made, so thats probably a good option when applicable.

i don't like the growing opinion that people are being 'too hard' on deku for his failing to save shigaraki.
i've seen quite a few people complaining that a lot of the bnha-critical crowd are being too mean to deku for getting tomura killed, arguing that it isn't really his fault, and that hes a 16 year old child soldier who's been failed by almost every adult in his life, why should we be putting all of this on his shoulders? hes just a kid after all?
and the truth is, they're right. deku IS a 16 year old boy whos had the fate of the world thrust on his shoulders. but the story itself just plainly refuses to acknowledge this.
the narrative doesn't acknowledge how fucked up having a school that trains literal children how to be combo cop-celebrities is. it only tentatively acknowledges the fact that a universe having combo cop-celebrities is fucked up, and even then the only people who ever point this out are antagonists, who are portrayed and treated in-universe as untrustworthy. the narrative doesn't care how fucked up dekus circumstances are. the narrative treats deku like hes a fucking messiah here to touch the hearts of the evil depressed villains with his magical empathetic heart of gold before they get blown up or just sent to fucking superhell for daring to challenge the status quote.
deku isn't a person. he's barely even a fucking character at this point. he's a plot device, and a mouth piece for the objectively shitty themes bnha is trying to spout. the themes that tell you that if you're mistreated by society and want to do something about it, you're a villain. that disrupting the status quote and refusing to repent to some random teenage boy spouting empty platitudes at you means you deserve to get sent to fucking superhell. the themes that portray people fighting for civil change as mass murdering supervillains. the themes that look the audience dead in the eye and can call deku the greatest hero to ever live.
deku, who barely spared a second thought to lady nagant telling him the truth about the hero commission. who spouts meaningless platitudes about heroism and morality at nagant, and aoyama, and toga and shigaraki, when even the thought that he should question the world around him comes up. who's constantly talked about as this truly kind, empathetic person, but hasn't spared an empathetic thought to literally anyone who is classified as a villain. who listened to every authority figure around him except the ones who asked him to question his worldview. who saw la bravas tears, shigarakis various breakdowns, himikos plead for understanding, chisakis catatonic state, lady nagants truth, and barley batted a fucking eye. deku, who killed tomura shigaraki.
people don't criticize deku for failing shigaraki because they just hate deku. people criticize deku because of what he represents. because hes a mouthpiece for the atrocious morals and themes of this ideologically rotten manga. because any character he had was chopped up to bits in favor of the incomplete husk we have now. people criticize deku because hes the main character of my hero academia. theres nothing more damning then that.

HELLO rae it is me again !!!💞💞💞
Theres something that gets me thinking when im reading about Jason which is the differences between Jason and AK!Jason
Its kinda similar to that post you made a while ago about how they are different people and therefore will act differently and that is sooo true
Like first of all, the part of his death
I like how its that thing that completely changes Jason because while Jason's rage was [intensified] from the Lazarus Pit — hallucinations, physical and mental modification and just an overall change in youre whole being, he never really changed being the way he is
But AK!Jason is driven completely by emotions, its ten times more raw and fragile since he never died in the first place, so there was no mysterious magic soup that changed his brain chemistry, he got instead (by his words) filled with rage and pain that he cant take it out of him, since basically he grew up with all the torture from his teens to adult life basically (When the human brain is developing!! How nice!!)
AND THEN MY DEAR I SAY HOW whilst Jason did die, he came back to life, he was given a second chance to live again, whereas AK!Jason cant, because he never died, yet he was killed in the most brutal way known to man, so he was killed and left like that, like something hollow sent out to the world to survive.
Jason chose his path by himself, although it'd be hard, he could (and did in a way) go back to his family, but he doesnt agree with Bruce's methods of doing things so he decided to do it the way he deems effective.
On the other hand, AK!Jason never wanted to be in that cell confined for years knowing nothing else but pain, and no one knew that AK!Jason was alive either but he believed people just thought so because they abandoned him. He was completely on his own and saw no other choice but to do what he had to do.
I guess its also why i like AK!Jason x reader fanfics a lot, i think its interesting how people insert a character into the life of someone who feels so beyond help. Thats also why youre my fav AK!jason writter honestly
ANYWAY THATS JUST RAMBLES BEFORE BED BYE RAE TAKE CARE OF URSELF 🥰🥰💋💋💋
Hello, nonnie! I always love seeing your thoughts! oo, okay, I'll have to do a whole other post on my thoughts on pit madness and fandom vs canon, cause I could go on for ages. But that's besides the point. (idk if it'll be an popular opinion so I'll just keep that to myself for now lol)
I could talk about AK vs Jason for hours too. (I have and will again) I looove what you said about how AK never got to live again, because he never really died!! It's so visceral.
Here's this boy who everyone thinks is dead. They moved on, found ways to cope and 'honor' his memory. But he's not dead. He's not dead and every piece of vile trash Gotham has ever spit it out is taking out their aggression on him for months and months.
Even with all the awful and the abuse and things that make you sick to think about, he has hope. He believes Batman is going to come from him, that if he's brave enough and holds out for long enough, he'll be saved. Until he doesn't. Until there's a new Robin.
And if Jason isn't Robin? If he isn't struggling and fighting to withstand torture as Robin? Then what is he doing? What's the point? Is he even anything now other than what Joker says he is?
Both Jasons had hope. But AK is the one that had it wrenched away from his hands one broken finger after another. Truly, he was broken down until he had nothing left and all there was what Joker made of him.
Except that's not quite true. He still had the strength to escape, still was able to make a deal with Deathstroke, still was able to claw and scratch and turn himself into something new.
It's why I adore him. There's something about the indominable human spirit he portrays and continues to portray. He could have won, during Arkham Knight, he could have let Scarecrow torment Batman on live TV and he could have used every skill and coin and connection he had to take over Gotham. But at the core of who he is, Jason Todd is good.
So, he helps, both Jasons do. It doesn't matter if you agree if what he does is right or how he does it is moral. He saves people, he cleans up the streets, and he does it all from the view of a victim who doesn't want anyone to be able to commit the horrors that were committed to them.
And now if you add the reader into the mix of all of that? Someone he loves? Somewhere between that cell in Arkham and him donning the suit, I think those feelings are going to get twisted. It's not that he loves you any less, it's just that it feels different. Love turns into a desire to possess, and not out of a need to stifle who you are, but out of a need to keep you safe.
He's seen the worst of Gotham, god forbid that ever comes near you. He's going to do whatever it takes to ensure you remain untouched, and untainted, even by him.

heyo, uh sorry for the super long message, and sorry this question is a little strange or somethin, you dont have to answer it, but youre like the only person i have seen on the internet comfortably talk about csa, and i wanted to just kinda say ive been debating including csa in one of my characters backstories but im nervous i will misrepresent it or something (i have experience with being sexually harrassed/coerced when i was a teenager but it wasnt drastic and i am not a victim of csa) and i guess i wanted advice. i don't want it to seem like its for cheap shock value, i do want to make it thematically relevant. the character, who i will call S for conveniance, was raised in isolation by their mother for their entire childhood and was abused and neglected, and S was raised to be "bait" for people to lure them in so their mother could eat them (uh. yeah cannibalism is here too. their backstory is already fucked up without the csa) i have a basic idea for how the csa starts, how it incorporates itself into the story and how S is affected by it, but i dont know, im nervous about including any of this because again, its a serious topic, and i want to portray it in a way that doesnt feel like its there just to make the reader disgusted. so if you have any pointers for me i'd appreciate that. again no big deal if you dont answer this
well it sounds like you've already made it thematically relevant with the whole "raised to be bait" thing so good job. I can absolutely see myself reading a story like that and thinking "this would be improved with csa but the author probably didnt wanna go there" cuz I can't imagine a situation in which a child is created for and frequently put in that kind of danger for the parents benefit that wouldn't somehow cross over into CSA or at least emotionally incestuous behavior.
it makes sense to be nervous when writing about it but without exact examples i can't really tell you if i think you're off base on anything. im not sure if any of the general pointers i COULD give would be very helpful on account of i'm not the end all be all of csa representation haha. my situation wasn't even that bad, i'm just inordinately fixated on it for some reason.
some people will tell you that under no circumstances should you write a graphic csa scene. this comes from an understandable place where in the past a lot of csa in media has been very uhhhh exploitative i guess? just for shock value, like you said here? which can be alienating and hurtful and rely on unrealistic tropes and spread misinformation and a lot of bad stuff. but i personally like when things get a bit graphic, its why i liked The Incest Diary so much. it really depends on the tone of the story and you're just gonna have to accept that you're not gonna please everyone.
as for less/non-graphic csa portrayals theres this article by this author Rene Denfeld which i really like and respect. i've read her books The Child Finder and The Butterfly Girl and i think they're both good examples of portraying explicitly that a child was raped, focusing on the childs inner world, and what its like to live with and cope with that trauma afterwards, all without anything very explicit.
as a side note, i don't think that "Trying to make the reader disgusted" is a bad reason to include it. i dont think you need a higher justification to write about csa other than "I Wanted To." that doesnt mean i always enjoy or agree with how ppl write about it but trying to evoke disgust isnt inherently bad because it is disgusting. I often evoke disgust with my art even when I don't mean to just because people are more sensitive to it than I am.
but being overly cautious about writing about csa, to the point that you don't even include it, means that most of the ppl writing about it will either be dickheads who don't care at all about being sensitive and victims of csa themselves and when those are the two main categories things get iffy and stressful and the survivors voices often get drowned out. im not gonna go into why cuz that'll take foreverrrrr. but my point is that I don't believe CSA is worse than like, death, or grief or murder or something. you can write about it if you wanna you dont need an excuse.

//Send 🌙 (or [Moon]) + A theory about arcs/stories/lore and I can confirm it and elaborate, deny it and eleborate or simply say "spoilers" and not elaborate
//Jaime hasn't figured out the specific tells on when Astra is bullshitting her prophecy stuff (yes she has them) so most of the times she's said anything seeming to be one or potentially could be has lingering "what if" concerns, even if minor
//Also, mostly unrelated to that: it's interesting how you're trying to run and portray a character who knows they need to bail but is unsure how to and afraid to do it with Jaime. Unfortunate that it makes Jaime seem a bit subdued compared to Z on the same blog due to the fact that sort of character naturally isn't going to be as... well, flamboyant isn't the right word, but hopefully gets some of the point across
nods nods! he hasn't been paying quite as much attention to astra's prophecies to to figure out the tells for what's bullshit and whats not yet. if he were in a better headspace, he might start looking into it more, but he's not as obsessive and paranoid as z is, so unless he's directly prompted to look into it, he wont be too concerned about it.
surprisingly, he has a fairly healthy view of fate and prophecies, not obsessing too much over them trying to deduce whether or not they're true. i had a whole thing typed out here going into more depth abt why this is the case and comparing his outlook to Z's but then i realized i was oversharing Things. you sly dog you almost got me monologuing >:3c
anyways!
but yea it does kinda make me augghhh that ppl seem to care more abt z than jaime. like i get it. z quite literally embodies the role of a narrator in a story, giving the reader information that would be near impossible to glean from the characters otherwise because they would not say that shit. and even aside from all the juicy intel she give out, her delusions and view of the world are incredibly interesting, especially because out of character we as roleplayers KNOW SHE IS RIGHT!!! it only makes sense that ppl are interested to see what she has to say and flock to her whenever there's green text on jaime's blog.
but its like aughuaghhaugh GUYS jaime is sososo interesting i prommy guys i prommy!!!!! he has a lot of Thoughts and Feelings GUYS GUYS!!!!! WEEPS AND WAILS. he might not be on the same level of Freak as Z is (/silly) but theres Things there!!!!!!

It has come to my attention that people actually like hearing about other peoples oc's occasionally. So im gonna be posting some images of my ocs and telling you about it! (its gonna be character specific for each one gonna do my Ace Attorney OCs, Idk about the others yet)
Starting off! Fahlin Starr, defense attorney in japanifornia.
Tumblr media
^ her reference image.
(theres a lot under this so if you're interested lmao)
I used Joan of arc as an inspiration for how she looks, but she is a modern day knight within the courts. She attempts to take on all the damage against the defendant and reflect that evidence against the prosecution.
Tumblr media
Here are her sprites!
She doesn't have many friends. She trusts to easily, and because of that she's shielded herself away from most people, only really giving time to her defendants (though she knows they could spurn her too, she has to take the risk). In short, she likes to protect her peace. There is one person however who's managed to get through her cold exterior! and its her long time private investigator companion, Bast Guess.
The companies of which they hailed from were close (and their mentors, closer) so they spent a lot of time working together. Fahlin swears she only requests Bast's help because it would be inconvenient to vet out a different PI, Bast knows however its because Fahlin actually things theyre friends.
Tumblr media
Fahlin tries her best to be controlled by facts and distance herself from her emotions, but she usually fails. Though her face doesnt usually portray that fact. Shes plagued (ish) by resting bitch face.
she keeps herself organized, and doesn't stray away from networking with other attorneys. Its part of her duty to spread the word of her agency. She's also married to her work.
despite being very organized she also doesnt use calenders or daily schedules. Sometimes post-it notes but very rarely. This drives Bast mad.
I like to think that her pride can take a few dings, before she crumbles (shield motif <33)
Tumblr media
Fun Fact!: She's a lesbian but she refuses to accept that she doesn't like men (she doesn't care if you're gay, but she cant be). She's got compulsive heteronormity up the wazoo. She had a situationship with a women named Anita Rhinum in Highschool and just... hasn't acknowledged the fact that she looks for her in every man she dates.
Tumblr media
Her mentor was a veteran Attorney, set to retire soon named Leah Mason. She had already mentored many rookies, but Fahlin would be her last one and the only one to have stayed in the Japanifornia jurisdiction. Mason Law Agency would get renamed to Starr Law Agency, where Fahlin resides on the first floor, and the upper became home to Bast Guess's private investigation agency. (it has a name I'll remember it when I get to her).
Tumblr media
Starr Law Agency Wait Room ^
Tumblr media
Fahlin's Office^
Tumblr media
Leah Mason and her husband Finn D. Clau (retired attorney and retired private detective)
Leah Mason was an almost motherly figure for Fahlin, they met when Fahlin was in college and needed an internship, so at age 19 she was taken under her wing.
This would be the first time Fahlin felt how a mother should treat their kid (even if it wasn't for long, and wasn't the same). When Leah retired she left to go travel the world, but made sure Fahlin had her number in case she ever needed help.
Tumblr media
here is were the fun family drama begins. :))
Fahlin has her father, Basile Starr, her mother Reine Starr, and her older sister (by 1 year) Jess Starr.
Basile Starr was a very busy man who didn't have a lot of time for his kids, though if he found time he was a very kind man who did really love them. Reine Starr on the other hand had very high expectations, and made it clear that if her children wanted her time, they had to prove to her that they were worth it.
(its also important to note that by the time the kids turned 5, the marriage was becoming very loveless and Reine had begun seeing other men)
Fahlin did everything she could to make her mother proud, she worked to excel in everything she could and put effort into doing the things that she liked. Jess on the other hand, tried, failed, and decided she didnt want to appease their mother. Fahlin likes feeling as though she *earned* something, so she'd keep trying.
Growing up Fahlin did fencing and ballet with her sister, she wasnt graceful enough for dance but she did have the skill for fencing.
Tumblr media
*this is NOT blood
Jess and Fahlin were very close when they were younger. Though they were one grade apart in school, they shared many of the same friends and hobbies.
Tumblr media
they were each others best friend.
But things started to change when they got older, they drifted apart (Fahlin not keeping friends as easily). It all came to a head when their mother was accused of murder, and Jess was called to testify agaisnt her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This testimony permanently severed their friendship, as Fahlin couldn't believe that their mother could kill someone. She convinced herself that Jess hated their mom so much that she would lie.
Once Fahlin turned 18 she moved out of her home in France and went to college in Japanifornia. She nothing back home worth staying for anyways.
Tumblr media
When she met Anita in college, Anita showed her around town and introduced her to a lot of what Japanifornia had to offer. They met in an elective class then began hanging out outside of it.
I haven't draw doodles of them yet (bc Anita's a newer character)

Looking at all these ship tierlists and seeing the negative tiers makes me realize how much I refuse to dislike ships hahaha. Where are my hot takes???
So, I’m now going to brainstorm any ships I might possibly have a negative opinion on. Warning for ever so slight negativity towards ships
HMMMM HMMMMM man im a lover at heart this is tough. Scott x women is cheating (even then I don’t think I dislike it as much as other ppl there’s some nuance but still generally not for me)
ALRIGHT. TIME TO DIG FOR ANY NEGATIVE FEELINGS.
Was never much of a fan of grumbo/mumscarian. BUT!!! This is because I’m MOSTLY LIFE SERIES VIEWER!!! I only casually enjoy hermitcraft and don’t watch it often. And I KNOW that’s where the ships come from, so all of the life series version of the ship just feels so forced. Which sucks cuz I do actually see some potential for it in like Last Life that would be a hilarious ship!! I definitely lean Grumbo because even in the life series you can see it, tho I see it mostly grian-sided with mumbo technically reciprocating it but not realizing how problematic it is to be dancing around the feelings in the middle of a death game. But that’s just me.
I USED TO BE A GRITHO HATER (but not a full on hater. Just the slightly negative feelings as portrayed here). I remember during limited life I kept seeing gritho stuff and I was like “it’s not gonna happen 🙄” then it happened and I was like 🤯 and bowed down to all the gritho shippers. I also had divine intervention in the form of a dream telling me to ship gritho and now I love them.
Flower husbands is a complicated one that is seen on many negative tiers and I will admit I don’t always like it. But sorry guys I like it just don’t watch Scott’s 3L otherwise you will be traumatized for life
I LOVE RANCHERS but I DON’T LIKE RANCHERS FANS. SORRY. Don’t take this personally either there’s no one in this fandom in particular I dislike (to my memory) but like there’s just something off with rancher fandom idk. It feels like a lot of them are missing the point. My sister is the one who got me into ranchers and even she agrees that a majority of the rancher fan content out here just isn’t it. I feel like it’s the general treatment of Jimmy and the also kind of ignoring Tango in favor of making him just Jimmy’s supportive bf idk. BUT AGAIN DON’T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY I LOVE RANCHERS AND THERES BANGER CONTENT OUT THERE!!!
^ also due to the ranchers vs fh war I feel the need to point out that while I seem nitpicky on ranchers but gave fh a free pass it’s because my problem with ranchers is purely fanon while the problems with fh exists within canon. I do also struggle with fh fanon not being what I want (give me liml fh NOW!!!)
Bringing forth another hot topic YOU WILL NOT BE SEEING BIGGRI HATE FROM ME. Sorry pal they are NOT on this list. I don’t know WHY it’s seen as “soo bad” by like ALL SIDES like ok. HUH? I especially don’t get the stance that ppl hate Biggri cuz it always gets used as a stepping stone for scarian. Like ok so you don’t ACTUALLY hate biggri you just hate scarian. I promise you nobody who says “I love biggri” shares that same sentiment on it that you hate so much. Literally why in the world would someone go “I love biggri soo much because I get to completely ignore it in favor of scarian 😍” like HELLO? I understand if that treatment makes the ship leave a bad taste in your mouth but why is the hate directed at the people who ACTUALLY CARE 😭 I MUST be missing something
SO ON THAT SUBJECT!!! I AM A DL SCARIAN HATER. I LOVE Scarian SOO much but in DOUBLE LIFE… *growls and eyes glow red* STOP VILLAINIZING GRIAN FOR FALLING IN LOVE WITH BIGB!! STOP MAKING SCAR LOOK INNOCENT WHEN HE WAS TERRIBLE TO GRIAN!! To be clear I get it. It’s the scarian soulmate AU. I believe there are ways to do it right but in general I just don’t like the way people do it. GIVE ME TOXIC DL SCARIAN OR GIVE ME DEATH!!!
My blog title says “#1 Scott x Joel HATER” but that was a lie sorry guys 😔 I only hate them because they take up 75% of my brain usage
Humm haww idk if I can come up with anything else. Maybe I’ll come back if I remember anything but as I keep saying I AM A LOVER AT HEART!!!
And just to be PERFECTLY CLEAR. I do not care if you have the complete opposite opinions. I don’t hate you!!! Even if I had said “people who ship this are the WORST they’re all BAD” and your url was “that-ship-u-hate-shipper” I WOULDN’T THINK LESS OF YOU!!! I would interact with you like a normal person because I believe in NUANCE and the fact that OPINIONS ON COMPLETELY FICTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS IS NOT A BIG DEAL. We can still be friends ❤️

alright thoughts on tf classic? Or at least the classic teams roles in the comics?
i have literally no knowledge of tf classic outside of how they are in the tf2 comics
that said i love nothing more than to share my opinions so let me just refresh my memory of them real quick-
granny pyro fucking rules if theres one thing tf2 is good for its making fucking insane women<3<3
I really have no strong opinions on the rest of them honestly. The writing fascinates me, though. because when you take a close look at their actions, they really aren't all the different from how the team acts? like. ok. bear with me here while i put on my english major hat and go all character analysis on you
(for the sake of clarity, i'll just be using mercs to refer to the tf2 characters, also under the cut cause this got longg)
what is their role in the plot aside from being antagonists? they're hired guns doing their job, which is taking out the administrator and the mercs, until something better presents itself in the form of the australium based life support thing. At which point c!heavy decides to turn tail and go rogue and get the missing australium for himself
everything they do in the comics? killing and torturing for their own gain and pleasure? nothing out of the ordinary for the mercs honestly. C!heavy is the only one that they go out of their way to make him an asshole (more on him later). The main reason they come off as such villains compared to our mercs? they play the violence completely straight.
Whenever the classic team is shown, ALL of the jokes come from them being the straight men to the antics of the mercs. If they weren't paired so wonderfully to play off of the batshit moves the mercs make. C!pyro isn't even torturing solider for information after she gets what she wants, she's just doing it because she enjoys hurting people- meanwhile Jane wants her to torture him for information he actually has so he can prove that he won't tell her. Every interaction is like this! They're professionals who enjoy their jobs as guns for hire- same as the mercs except they don't tell jokes or get naked and covered in honey while they do it. Thats the only thing seperating how the teams act. the main exception being C!heavy
He is uniquely portrayed as an asshole. He's here for a quick, easy pay (he tells grey mann he doesn't understand world domination types, its too much work), he's extremely caught up in the gain (him instantly backstabbing grey mann to get the life extender for himself, and when he yells at medic about how much he's cost them in animal parts)
One scene in particular, however, really sets him up as the Bad Guy. When he hurts Archimedes. It's sandwiched inbetween two jokes (him getting mad at medic for reanimating sniper, and medic implying sniper has pigeon blood now) so it's maybe hard to miss, but the panel where he throws Archimedes into the ground is such a stark stylistic difference that it really just pushes home that this is something Important. the panel is pure black, with C!heavy and Archimedes in bright white. a spatter of blood shows the impact and damage of the action. It really shifts him into the role of scary villain. He's willing to hurt and kill this animal that did nothing to him. presumably because he's pissed at medic and he knows it will hurt him. Medic's reaction and obvious pain makes him a more serious threat than the other classic members, because even when c!pyro drilled holes into soliders teeth, solider didn't care. Everything else the classic team has done has been an inconvience at best (ok well, except killing sniper, but that is also done by c!heavy and treated the same as this example so-)
It's a really beautiful piece of story telling! It's a fantastic way of conveying that this guy is the big bad to the reader without even using words!
Oh and this is also why our mercs were able to win in the end btw, the classic team was prepared for a lot of shit but they could never expect the random bullshit the mercs pull on nearly constantly. They expected guns that shot bullets not ones with a "BANG" flag then getting punched in the dick

Portrait Of A Parisian Style Icon
Everyone loves french fashion and the style icons of the City of Light. Clemence Poésy is one of them. She enchants everyone with her effortless and simple looks. Here's what she's up to now. The actress, muse and model is famous for her effortless and cool style - the signature uniform of French women. She is effortlessly beautiful and theres something magical about her appearance that can't be quite gasped - maybe it's the simple fact of her being french. When asked what makes French women so cool she answered: 'It's weird. I'd never really thought about it but I was on a bus in Paris last week while people were going to work and it suddenly struck me that everyone looked really sleek and classic. No one was trying too hard, they were just cool.' Her to go to look is biker boots, black jeans and a white shirt - combined with messy hair and natural make up. When asked how she would describe her personal she said: "I always feel really silly answering that question because I really don't feel like I have a style. I like it when clothes have a story and I like finding things that move me somehow but I think it's very important to not make fashion too much of a thing in your life. It's a tool to show who you are to the world but only if you're privileged enough to to be able to worry about it. It can be armour, it can be something you protect yourself from the world with, it can be something that gives you power that makes you feel stronger but it's important to see the poetry in it and try to tell a story with your clothes. Not to make fashion too much of a thing." But she's not only a source of inspiration when it comes to fashion. She's the face of the fragrance Love Story by Chloe - portraying a sweet and romantic love story in Paris. With her natural beauty and her pure features she's a popular ambassador for skin care brands like Shiseido. Her personal favourites are Avène and La Roche-Posay. She also impresses with her magnificent acting in movies like Mr Morgans Last Love' (2013) - a story about love, loss and friendship set in Paris. Not the only movie she starred in and swept everyone off her feet. Her latest appearance was at Paris Fashion Week in January where she attended the Valentino Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2020 show. Her latest project is the World War Il drama Resistance where she plays Emma, the crush of the gestapo chief Klaus Barbie (played by Matthias Schweighöfer). This year in March, she also starred (and danced like no one was wathcing) in the music video of M. Ward's song Unreal City' that was shot in Paris. "A video about finding joy and wonder in the most random moments and places." It was directed by the French writer and director Beatrice Pegard. When asked how working with Clemence was, she answered: "Clemence is wonderful and an absolute pleasure to work with. She is incredibly smart, talented and inspiring and I cannot wait to work with her again." Pegard sums up what a lot of people think about Clemence and what makes her so magnificent. In conclusion, Poesy keeps on inspiring and enchanting the world simply with her presence and her endless talent - and we definitely haven't seen the last of her. "My clothes have to be comfortable. I don't feel at ease at anything too complicated." BY MAJA BEBBER

https://www.tumblr.com/kookiecrush/728734778623426560/theres-definitely-vibes-between-gof-and-tae Anon proving that queerness will always be fetishized in a heteronormative world. Queer people just existing is sexual. There are people like anon who will use them to serve their fantasies but feed into queerphobia, who think that queer people are inherently more promiscuous, that they are uncontrollably attracted to everyone they meet, that they are more likely to cheat on their partner and on and on- What is anon even going for, they come to a Taekook blog to try to convince people here that Tae is hooking up with his friend? Do they hate Tae? Do they hate Jungkook? Just want to ruin a queer person's reputation for fun by portraying them as untrustworthy? Sow seeds of doubt about their character? What's the point here? Because I can't think of a single reason for doing this that wouldn't be offensive to people who actually respect and care about Tae and/or Jungkook.
Hi, thanks for chiming in, you touch on a lot of good points. Unfortunately, like you said, there are people out there who oversexualise and stereotype queer people and assume that if a man is queer, then he must be attracted to every man he meets. This type of ignorant mindset can be very damaging and dehumanising.
I'm not sure what that anon's intentions were, I don't believe they were necessarily being malicious with their ask, but I do think some people should question why whenever Tae interacts with a friend, they always assume there's an attraction there or that something more is going on. A queer man is no less capable of maintaining platonic friendships than a straight one.

Joining the conversation but not actually sticking to the subject. This post is more like a dump of all the problems i have with the community as someone with this fetish.
This turned out to be very long so ill summarize my talking points:
Theres no such thing as sfw tickle blogs
Minors and adults should never interact (non-negotiable)
The psychological damage kink-shaming has (and the way sfw blogs contributes to it from inside the community)
Personal thoughts and experiences from being a minor on here
I was pretty angry when i wrote this so there is a lot of attitude, and i will not change it. The subject makes me angry and i think i should be allowed to feel this way. Also english isn't my first language so thats that also.
Well enough said, here the post:
To start it all, nothing in this community is sfw. I don’t care how much you believe urself to be a sfw blog, ur not. Sfw does not mean non-sexual or non-explicit, it simply means the content on here isn’t suitable or appropriate to view in public or professional settings. People would react to the content you’re are watching, ur not getting around it.
And this has nothing to do with me not being able to view tickling in any other way than through my sexual perspective, I obviously know how the rest of the world views tickling. It’s playful, it’s a way of bonding and it is innocent, till it’s not. And if ur reading this than u have definitely stepped over the line of what’s considered normal innocent interest. If ur reading this you have entered a
✨Kink community✨
Let’s call it what it is. By choosing to participate in a kink community while claiming that your interest is “pure” and “innocent”, you undermine the very foundation this community is built on. The kink community exists to provide a space for people to explore their interests and fetishes in a safe and accepting environment. Trying to portray urself as different from or better than other kinksters by placing yourselves on a pedestal, you harm the very community you use and benefit from.
It’s clear that youre fighting for ur “right” to be here by putting down the people who actually built this community, the kinksters youre trying to distance yourselves from. Attempting to separate urself from the sexual aspect of kink and insisting that it’s possible to engage in this community without it being kink, or even sexually charged, shows a fundamental lack of respect and understanding for why this space exists in the first place.
Kink communities are built on trust, consent, and respect, and safety is non-negotiable. By distancing urself from the sexual nature of kink and framing ur participation as “innocent” or “SFW,” you actively undermine these principles. This isn’t just misguided, it’s dangerous.
When you claim your intentions are “pure” and separated from kink, you blur the lines of what these spaces represent. This will lead to confusion about boundaries and consent, making the community less safe for everyone. By rejecting the core values of kink while still engaging with its spaces, you create an environment ready for exploitation, where people, particularly minors, are more vulnerable to harm.
U cannot claim a space in a kink community while refusing to abide by its rules. If ur here, you have a responsibility to respect its inherently adult nature and prioritize safety over ur own attempts to appear morally superior. Anything less is not just selfish, it is reckless and puts others at risk.
Prob some sfw blog: “you just can’t accept that other people don’t like tickling like you do, u have to believe us when we say it’s pure” or whatever
If ur fixation is so normal, then why are u even here? Let’s be honest: it’s not because you actually think ur interests are “innocent” or “pure.” It’s bc ur terrified of how ppl in ur real life would see u if they knew. You fear your interest will be labeled as sexual, so u come here to distance urself from that stigma while still indulging in the sexual space ur so scared of being seen as part of.
You think if u distance urself enough from kinksters, u can avoid the stigma society places on this community. But in reality, by occupying this space, you’ve already aligned urself with kink. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t use the community as a safe haven for urself while simultaneously rejecting the very people who built it.
Your fear of being labeled isn’t unique. Everyone here understands what it’s like to face judgment and stigma, we prob know it better than anyone. But instead of working through your fear or challenging society’s perceptions, u have decided to redirect ur shame and frustration at others in this space, hoping to elevate yourself by tearing us down. It’s hypocritical, and it’s harmful.
SFW blogs again: ”But i don’t show explicit content!! It is 10099863%%% safe for minors!!!!”
Ya right… minors are always gonna try to sneak into spaces like this, whether out of curiosity or suppressed sexuality (oh look, just like me). But it’s our job as adults to keep them out and stop them from engaging here.
Tickling in this community (heavy on IN THIS COMMUNITY) isn’t just some playful thing. It’s about physical closeness, boundaries, and power dynamics that need to be respected. Acting like it’s “harmless fun” here is just wrong. Letting minors join in, even in “innocent” ways, is a slippery slope.
The second you start blurring lines, you open the door for bad people to take advantage, and it only takes one messed up person to ruin everything.
Minors don’t need random adults to talk to about this. They have friends their own age for that. I really dont get it, why are u so desperate to let minors engage with you? Even if u think ur space is 100% safe, ur creating opportunities for unsafe people to step in and exploit those blurred boundaries.
Our responsibility isn’t to give minors a platform, it is to keep this space an adult one, built on respect and safety. If u can’t do that, u don’t belong here.
Now we’re kinda getting of topic but idc I need this to be discussed too:
The psychological effects of ur fucking attitude!!
I used to be a minor on here. I was lurking back when I was 14 or smth, long before I ever started interacting. Even then, I picked up on the attitude toward the NSFW side of the community that people who enjoyed it sexually were somehow lesser, perverse, or shameful. Most of the time it wasn’t obvious or direct, but that’s how socializing works. It’s in the small, unspoken cues, the subtle ways people express disapproval without saying it outright.
I didn’t understand my feelings at the time and I certainly didn’t realize I was already part of what they considered “perverse”. I just knew I didn’t want to be one of them. So what did I do??
✨buried my feelings✨
I went into deep denial and tried to gaslight myself into believing I was pure, innocent, and above all that sexual stuff (ew for sexual stuff). And actually, fuck you for making me feel that way in a place that was supposed to be safe for exploration. This is a kink community, not the purity contest y’all keep trying to turn it into.
Being a kid who doesn’t fully understand their feelings but still feels drawn toward something kink-related is already confusing enough. Add the judgment and shaming (from both irl and inside the community) that’s so casually thrown around, and it becomes outright harmful. We can’t stop minors from finding their way into these spaces, it’s going to happen either way, but we can control the messages we’re putting out there.
So to the “sfw” blogs: be mindful of the sexually suppressed kids lurking around, trying to make sense of themselves. They don’t need your moral superiority, they need a space that doesn’t make them feel like garbage for being different. Your fear of being labeled “perverse” is nothing compared to the crushing realization of “fuck this is actually a core part of me and my sexuality that I’m never ever getting away from” (at least it can be and it definitely was for me).
Think about the damage you might be doing to people who haven’t figured themselves out yet. This isn’t a choice, you should know that, so don’t shame us for it.
I think I’m done now. I find it absurd how we’re having these conversations in the literal community that supposed to be safe, but oh well. It will definitely happen again.
Glad I got this out of my system. If u read it all, congrats man it must have taken ages.
Here’s a star ⭐️

#on the topic of child abuse...#(just to clarify i dont care much what people ultimately vote and i personally dont vote im talking only about the reasoning/perception)#theres also an opinion that wishing for amane to be inno because she is an abused child is watering her down to “abused child”#and thus treating her unseriously and taking away her autonomy since shes no more than a “child” even when it comes to murder#(that could be done by her own choice)#i dont want to articulate my thoughts about this in-depth but i just dont think its the best approach to the topic of abused children#as op noted when it comes to amane people are trying to find more “free space” to think abt than with other prisoners#as if “abused child” case is too easy of a case and there needs to be something else#i dont think the debatable thing about amane is whether she did the murder out of her own will or not#and thus whether she should be judged as a murderer who acted on her own will the same as other murderers#what i mean is sadistic children whose actions are not always influenced by their environment exist and amane is just not portrayed as such#i think the debatable thing is that the cult's mindset is way too deep in her#there's “are we able to save her” question being raised really strongly#like does it really have a point to forgive or not forgive if we wont be able to influence her mindset in the slightest#at least with the milgram system#does it have a point if we can't do anything to help one of the most if not the most vulnerable person in here#so people are trying to find something else and in the end the topic of “abused child” gets put away whatsoever#also i said i dont really care abt voting but#“you did a bad thing and you wont get away easy with it just because of being a child” must be already what she hears in her family#its kind of a bunch of random thoughts but all in all#i don't like the way some people approach the topic of abuse just because “we need to think more in-depth”#seeing an abused child and thinking my fucking god its an abused child is not superficial @tsuwmya
These are Wonderful Tags and I love them dearly. As someone is mostly undecided at the moment but leaning Inno who has the personal opinion that in the Milgram System Amane Cannot Grow this a really good point! I have a lot of messy thoughts about how fandom spaces can Treat trauma and sensitive subject matter but that's a very good point there! The treatment of Amane's abuse like a superficial character trait and not something that's intertwined with her story and themes, or something that a lot of people have to deal with in the real world.
I assume that's because Amane's abuse is "obvious" in the sense that we see it happening, you don't have to look far to understand vaguely what's happening. So it gets pushed aside. Though that gets into my personal feelings about theroysides of fandom as a whole and that's a lot so-
Honestly on the "are we able to save her" the question also feels couched in the question of "is it worth trying to save her even if all the options are bad" most likely if Amane gets released she goes back to the cult and I doubt anyone wants that for her. It's possible that guilty just seems the more merciful option. I personally think we gotta let her out, deciding that since we can't help her so she shouldn't be let out just sounds wrong to me. I think Amane should be atleast be given the opportunity to try to live, even if her situation fucking sucks. I want to believe Amane will eventually make it out and I don't think the mindset is too deep inside her, I have, so many notes of just scenes and moments that show that Amane isn't in fact stuck forever there.
So, I've seen the new Amane gifs and-
Spoilers under the cut.
Tumblr media
Big sister Shion, I think you misplaced your taser-
Tumblr media
Again.
In all seriousness, I would like to discuss the second gif in this batch. Since at first glance, it looked like Amane arriving home to me. However, it could come off as an abduction. If she's leaving a public area or is in one. Something that's still a possibility given all the papers covering the door.
Unless, for some reason, Amane's family just hangs papers on the inside of their home door or own a business that does that. Either of these things could be the case. Since we see them working on a set in Magic, and they could put things up at home like this to remind them of certain things. That's not uncommon in familial residences, after all.
However, the papers and cards there looked to be put up for advertising purposes. Kind of like what one would see on a bulletin board just on the door. This is usually done on the front doors of businesses, which is why I said this makes it possible for this scene to be an abduction.
Now I do believe that Riyone, the one shown to use electricity on Amane in Magic, is more than likely her mother. However, I also believe her parents are more than likely divorced, and her mother was using the pilgrimage thing to kill two birds with one stone.
Q.09 Tell us your family structure.
Kazui: It’s only me now.
Amane: It was my father, my mother and me.
By explaining away her father's sudden absence and displaying to Amane that her father believes in this too. This would motivate Amane to take these teachings more seriously because, as we have been shown over and over again, Amane has great respect, admiration, and love for her father.
Q.02 Who do you look up to?
Kazui: You won’t know them even if I say, but I have a childhood friend I really respect. Sorry for just answering someone from my personal life.
Amane: My father. He’s been away on a trip for a while, but I think that’s very honourable of him.
So, if she was led to believe that her father followed these teachings as well she would try harder to be a good girl in order to,
A. Make her dad proud.
B. Be like her father.
C. Possibly see him if she's good enough.
Q.13 Who do you want to see right now?
Kazui: They won’t see me anymore.
Amane: My father. I want him to praise me for all my hard work.
Japan favors leaving the kid with the parent, which will cause the least change in the child's life. So, they tend to give custody to the parent the child is living with at the time. This is why it's become common for parents who are about to divorce their spouse to either kick the other out of the home or move without notice taking the kid(s) with them and then get a divorce.
"Parents secretly moving out and taking children with them isn’t unheard of-in fact, it’s often viewed in Japan as justified, in part because of instances where domestic violence is alleged. Such unilateral separations are legal in Japan, but if the other parent attempts to take the child back, that can be considered an illegal removal."
This would explain why Kazui and Amane were paired together as their stories may heavily involve highlighting the failings of the divorce system.
If Amane's mother did do this, then her father wouldn't have any legal right to see Amane, and her mom could just come up with any excuse for his absence she wanted. Something that divorced parents tend to do anyhow even when not given such beneficial circumstances to do it under.
"Each year, divorce affects roughly 200,000 Japanese children, double that of 50 years ago in a country where the total number of minors has plummeted. Of children with divorced parents, 1 in 3 said they eventually lost all contact with the noncustodial parent, a 2021 government survey showed. Given the system’s winner-take-all approach, spousal battles have only intensified, escalating the economic and emotional damage." X
Overall, given what we know, Amane's situation is rather complicated. However, I find it very telling that a lot of people are willing to endanger/torment a child for the safety and comfort of a bunch of adults.
Simply because this is always how child abuse and neglect has been treated by society. Especially when done by a parent. The concept itself is so abhorrent and senseless that many would rather look away from the issue entirely than confront it. Even if they must shift the blame to the victim to do so.
It's easier to go,
"Well, that kid must have done something to get that response from their parent."
Objectively true statement. Something was done to cause this. That's simply how cause and effect work. However, that something can range from things as simple as helping another person in a way they deem unacceptable
Tumblr media
or breathing wrong.
The victim undergoing familial abuse doesn't get to pick the struggle it fucking picks them. It's Monday and their primary caretaker had a bad day at work? Guess who's getting beat again. This may be the rest of their evening or week now. Aw shit- did they get a low grade on a test?
Hope they're ready to go to the quiet room or sit at a table for seven hours to be taught this from the beginning. Because they're making their parent(s) look bad. If only they were smarter and not a complete embarrassment, then they could be having fun right now.
20/06/18
Amane: Thank you very much for teaching me. ……but, though I realise it’s strange me saying this after I asked you, I must admit it’s kind of unexpected. You give off the impression of someone who wouldn’t want to get involved in things like this.
Kotoko: ……well, you’re not wrong. I’m surrounded by people who could all be murderers, so I don’t plan on going out of my way to talk and make friends. I can’t let my guard down. But I like ambitious people like you. If you want to study more, then I’m happy to teach.
Amane: I see…… You look scary at first impression, but I quite like the way you treat everyone equally regardless of whether they’re older or younger than you. You don’t just treat me like a child or anything like that.
Kotoko: Treat you like a child? Hah, you’ve got to be kidding. Back when I was your age, I was already the person I am today. I don’t have any plans to let you get away with something just “because you’re a child.” ……remember that. There, I’ve finished marking. 83%. How do I put it… Even though you act like this, it’s not like you’re super brilliant at studying or anything, huh.
Ah, they managed to fix all those things; man, that's nice. Why do they always need something (clothes, food, water, etc)? Have they thought of their parent(s) needs lately? Recognized how hard their parent(s) are trying. They have it rather good, considering some kids are out there starving. How can they be so ungrateful?
Shifting the onus of blame onto the victim is quite literally a good way to make sure the bar is always moving, and success is unobtainable. This is literally the first thing abusive parents do. Make the abuse seem like the child's fault.
"Well, that was then - this is now. You don't have to keep behaving this way. You're in a safe environment."
An objectively true statement. However, that may not feel emotionally true due to how long the individual has been in an unsafe environment, the likelihood of them changing the behavior that they learned to cope with that immediately is pretty much nonexistent.
"If they were unhappy, they'd say something. It would show more they wouldn't be doing as good at school."
No, they wouldn't; depending on the severity and duration of the abuse.
Usually, the intention of child abusers, especially parents who abuse their children, is to not get caught. They will actively go out of their way to make it look like things are as good as possible. If the kid does or says something that contradicts that they'll just punish them. So, when well-meaning people go,
"Is something wrong?"
The first instinct for a child suffering under familial abuse may be to lie. Because if they don't, whoever they are talking to may discuss what they have told them with their caretaker leading to them getting in trouble again. Sometimes parents that partake in this type of behavior will even coach their kids when it comes to lying.
"How'd you get this?" - "Playing."
"Why did you miss so many days of school?" - "I caught a cold."
"Hey, do you like it at home?" - "Yep, my life is great. My parent(s) and I do (acceptable to mention hobby here) on these days. It's a lot of fun. Why do you ask?"
For children living under these sorts of conditions every waking moment is a fucking balancing act. They either say the right thing or get in trouble because at the end of the day they're going to have to go back home. So, children living under these sorts of conditions are well aware of what happens if they act a certain way in public by the time they reach school age.
"I mean, it could be that... but it's best not to pry."
The quiet part out loud. People don't want to be bothered by it. It's uncomfortable and usually considered to not be the business of outside parties unless it's child services. So, people look the other way and get uncomfortable when it's even alluded to near them. They'll look at the kid and go well, that's bumming me out. Best to think about things that can be solved at the end of the day. I mean, that's their legal guardian. I can't tell someone else how to raise their kids.
That's just how a majority of people view child abuse/neglect. Because children are either a nice thing to have around, or a problem that should be ignored or handled. Everyone in Milgram outside of Amane has been given a good deal of the benefit of the doubt. Despite them all being older and just as capable of understanding their behavior along with the hurt it has caused while rationalizing why they did it as she is.
Amane is the only character in the series who has been treated with the scrutiny of an adult despite everything she's been through. To me, that's very fucked up. It's gotten to the point that I don't believe people even recognize they're doing it. They don't recognize they're justifying continuing to let a kid remain in an abusive environment because it makes their lives easier. Because then they'll be more comfortable.
Directly mirroring the way child abuse is pushed to the side and swept under the rug in the real world.
Because at the end of the day people only care about children when it's convenient for them. When it's easy to care, when the person they're protecting the kid from is someone they already dislike. People have no trouble pointing out these issues then. Because it's easy to talk about the pain of children or someone being younger when it helps others support or deny something they already feel a certain way about.
It's easy for one to conclude that what Futa did was wrong, that Mu, Yuno, or Haruka made a mistake because of their ages and upbringing. Yet when shown the horrendous treatment Amane has endured and her age being put on full display from the beginning... Somehow there's still room to dance around the idea of whether she should be Innocent (Forgiven) or not.
Despite being given the option to not continue to torment the youngest, most vulnerable, and consistently neglected person here, many can suddenly find a good deal of justifications to continue her punishment.
All I did was say a bad thing was wrong, how was I to know that was gonna to happen; what about what you're doing?
"Futa isn't sorry, he just doesn't want to get punished." A lot of people wanted to discuss remorse earlier and how Futa displays it. Yet, showing remorse isn't indicative of change. Plus, remorse and shame look a lot alike.
The most important thing with Futa is he not only recognized that what he did was wrong regardless of how he displays that- He, also took the necessary steps to change his behavior moving forward. In order to prevent what had happened before from happening again. He's actively attempted to show more concern for those younger than himself since entering Milgram.
Even though he isn't particularly good at communicating, he goes out of his way to attempt to check in on others and asks about them. Despite saying he can't afford to do that he's still done so. Even going to inquire about Haruka.
He can do that but despite seeing the consequences of our judgements, a lot of people are too comfortable with doubling down on some of the most disenfranchised characters within Milgram. Simply because the idea of that sort of person existing to some is a personal offense.
That's fine Milgram let's you vote on that alone after all. However, I definitely wouldn't like my name being used to excuse the mistreatment of others. So, instead of saying it's for another prisoner's sake how about we cut out the middleman and get straight to the point.
Some people within the fandom would be more comfortable with Milgram if Amane were restrained. It would give certain individuals a sense of peace of mind.
No matter how easily broken that will be by whatever prisoner decides to act up next during the intermission in response to their verdict.
Despite everyone in Milgram showing little or no fear of Amane and Mahiru literally saying this,
Q.13 What do you think of Amane?
Shidou: Us adults need to do something for her. I can’t do anything while looking after the injured right now so I have to leave it to someone else, which is bothering me.
Mahiru: I would’ve loved to play a lot with her if she was doing better.
So, it'd be nice if people stopped using Mahiru as an excuse to hurt another prisoner that she has admitted to liking numerous times.
Q.10 Which of the other prisoners do you get along with?
Kazui: Shidou-kun, Mikoto and me all smoke together, so I think we get along well.
Amane: If I had to pick someone, then Yuno-san and Mahiru-san.
Plus, this is simply rich; looking back on all these people discussing the safety and care of children to compare it to how they're acting now. Justifying continuing the mental suffering of a child simply because it appears narratively convenient to them. You're going to meta vote the kid twice, really? Okay, go ahead.
That's the sort of place Milgram is after all. A place that says children only matter when they can fit into the framing most convenient to the one speaking. It doesn't matter if Amane is tortured blatantly on screen, it doesn't matter if she's having a rough time. Because a bunch of people have already decided that coddling adults who should damn well be able to protect themselves is more important than a child's safety.
Not surprising or disappointing, that's just the natural way of things in society.
I mean you might as well, I don't know-
Ignore the consistent signs of familial abuse happening around her, ostracize her because the idea makes you uncomfortable, avoid her like a plague. Put her in the corner because children are meant to speak only when spoken to.
Oh...hm that sounds familiar-
Tumblr media
Lol, fuck kids though am I right? The only time people decided to care about Satoko, and her lived experiences, was when she was a teenager. Maybe if Amane was a few years older, then her lived experiences would matter. For now, though, nah-
Moving on! I'd also like to discuss two other gifs; the close-up of the baton with rope attached and the attempted flag twirling. Given what we've seen I believe that Purge March will be retreading what we are shown in Magic except subtracting Amane's idealized view of things.
It was implied that this was her ideal at the end of Magic through this image-
Tumblr media
A scene that brings to question all of the presentation of Magic. That made me wonder if this is how things went or just Amane's more idealized retelling.
Star pointed out the absence of anyone in front of the stage in her post Sunday. However, there's another thing that's odd. The thing we see before the credits roll isn't everyone standing together as they are in the end but Amane by herself brandishing her wand-
However, unlike when she first brandished it her chibi form her wand moves from her left hand to her right back to her left again before the fake credits role at the end of Magic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This also happens directly after everyone just mysteriously disappears like right before this she was dancing with just Yuri and Riyone-
Tumblr media
Since we noticeably see Yuri isn't holding anyone else's hand and Riyone doesn't seem to be either. So, where did Gachata and Gozake go? Then when they are back in the credits it's like this-
Tumblr media
Instead of Amane being in between Yuri and Riyone like she was before she's between Gozake and Riyone.
Since she did this when no one else seemed to be present this could mean a variety of things. One that she may have used the wand more than once, two she did a routine of some sort which she just finished, or even denote handedness meaning her left hand is more than likely her dominant one.
Considering how her routine begins with the wand in her left hand and ends with it in her left hand. However, I don't know enough about baton twirling to say. Plus, every video I've found on it has emphasized starting with one's right hand regardless of dominance. So, this is odd.
(Star here! Given the religious aspects of Amane's circumstances, it could also be something to do with the stigma left-handed people have/had. They might have forced her to use her right hand for things. A prime example of this is the gif of her attempting to spin the flagpole. This could indicate that Amane was forced to use her right hand, resulting in a loss of motor skills you wouldn't get when using your dominant hand. Further backing this is the fact that in the close-up gif of Amane twirling the baton, she starts with her left hand and then transfers it to her right)
Adding to that in baton twirling people are specifically trained to use both hands and it's widely accepted that one is meant to start with the right. Though the baton is usually meant to be the length of one's dominant hand.

Video on Baton Measuring: X, X
Outside of giving us a possible idea on her handedness- This also adds more depth to this answer given by Amane in her first written interrogation-
Q.14 Do you listen to music?
Kazui: I guess I do from time to time. It’s all super old music though, so I don’t think you’ll know it.
Amane: I don’t particularly listen to it for fun.
Because if Amane is majorette which has been all but stated, she would listen to music predominantly to practice her routines. This would give more depth to her pairing with Kazui as well. Since they've both been heavily related to the performing arts in some way.
Baton Twirling routines: X, X, X, X, X
What Amane appeared to be doing in the new gif using the baton with the string: X
(What Amane appears to have attempted with the flag toss: X)
Back to how Purge March may be the same events just less idealized.
If you look at these frames-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice that the way the flagpole lands on Amane's head and how the impact affects her mirrors this scene of Gachata flicking her forehead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(This time, it's Star typing something! Gunsli was busy for a bit so I was headed to write this up o7
Taking this and the gif of her desperately trying to make her way through the water to grab the flag in front of her, it's likely they are going to use the switch from flagpole to baton as an allegory. Specifically, to better illustrate the timeline of events/order of circumstances.
Though, to expand on this, the flag may also represent the idea of everyone living happily together that Amane refers to in Magic. The baton, however, represents the ideologies surrounding the cult her family is involved in. If this is true, then it could also be visual shorthand for the idea of Amane changing her priorities.)
With that I think we're done here. There's a lot of interesting things about Purge March and I think it's going to follow up on Magic well. It's making me more and more excited for Double. Milgram has been very hush-hush about Amane and Mikoto. So, their songs might just end up speaking more than any of the others so far.

The Scene With Undyne Sitting Across The Table From You: An Analysis
So Undyne lied to Papyrus. She led him on about the Guard, and she wasn’t honest with him. She didn’t actually train him. She was never going to let him in the guard.
We all know this.
I think something that people don’t think about, though, is the rest of that conversation, and Why she handled that situation the way she did. This is something I have fallen into a lot, too, because Papyrus is my favorite and I have a bad habit of focusing on him… but I think I wanna explore this from Undyne’s point of view instead.
Because it’s really interesting, isn’t it?
Throughout the game, Undyne is otherwise portrayed as being as empathetic as she is direct. There is no problem that she can’t suplex or headbutt! She’ll eat a rock! She’ll fight the sun! But she won’t tell Papyrus she can’t let him into the guard.
A lot of the time, I think we read this conversation as being revealing of who Papyrus is. It gets used a lot as fuel to infantilize him. In fact, seeing something about that is actually why I wanted to write this. Additionally, this conversation where she reveals this is where she tells us about Asgore’s sadness, his fatherly tendencies and his strength and his nature beyond being the not-so-final boss.
Tumblr media
[Image Description:  Undyne is sitting across the table from you. You’re in her house. The window’s been smashed, and the table, too, with a spear sticking out of it, and she’s left some things on the stove and theres just a sword in the middle of her floor, but it’s calm for now. Various things are left on her counter. You’re both drinking tea.]
But this is Undyne’s conversation on Undyne’s hangout and this conversation is meant to make us understand Undyne.
So, here’s my take:
I think Undyne is not good with emotions beyond the obvious, and she uses others and their experiences and emotions as examples and ways to understand and work through her own emotions and complicated, shifting thoughts. She’s not gonna tell a human kid her anxieties, because thats not the kind of person she is. She’s direct whenever she can be, but these are not matters she can be direct with. She’s a fighter, not a philosopher.
She starts this conversation by telling you you remind her of Asgore, because...
Tumblr media
[Image Description:  Undyne is sitting across the table from you. She’s throwing her head back laughing at you, probably obnoxiously. She says “You’re both TOTAL weenies!!!” with three exclamation points, and “total” in all caps.]
She calls Asgore a TOTAL WEENIE, then relents, and says he’s not a weenie all of the time. That’s when she tells us the story of how she tried to beat him up when she was little, to prove she was the strongest, and how that leads her to become his apprentice, and how she eventually knocked him down.
Tumblr media
[Image Description: Undyne is sitting across the table from you. Her eyes are closed, her head is bowed. She says “I felt… bad.”]
She felt bad.
Undyne is expressing with that that she used to value strength above all else, and viewed the world through that very narrow lens. She’s surpassed Asgore, at least in one match, and that should have been a victory for her, but instead the situation lead to an emotion she hadn’t expected: She felt bad. And Asgore was so proud of her.
And then she tells us about Papyrus, and this is the same thought as the other story, because she’s expressing that the role she’s taken on as Head of the Royal Guard is her graduating to a leadership position like Asgore’s.
Tumblr media
[Image Description: Undyne is sitting across the table from you. She says “So I’m the one who gets to train dorks to fight!” She’s throwing her head back laughing. Not at you this time.]
She introduces Papyrus to this story then, and starts with saying she doesn’t know if she could ever let him in.
I think an important phrasing there is that she doesn’t know. This is not a solid open and shut decision. She hesitates and stumbles over this admission. She does not know if she’s going to let him in. She doesn’t think she is, but she doesn’t know.
She’s stuck. I know you could say this is just a matter of phrasing, and might not seem significant, but the way she stumbles over explaining herself, its like she’s trying to work out right now exactly why she won’t let him in. And she’s maybe only realizing now that the answer was always going to be no.
Tumblr media
[Image Description:  Undyne is sitting across the table from you. She says “I mean, it’s not that he’s weak.” She’s grinning... but she’s sweating it out a little.]
Tumblr media
[Image Description: Undyne is sitting across the table from you. She says “He’s actually pretty freaking tough!” Her eyes bulge with passion!  ]
She’s quick to say its not that he’s weak, and that he’s pretty freaking tough - really strong praise from Undyne, who just called you and the King of All Monsters total weenies - and then she starts talking about how he’s too innocent and nice! And how he was supposed to capture you, but ended up being friends with you instead!!!
And… again, a lot of people are quick to read this as a flaw in Papyrus. A fully literal assessment of him by Undyne. But is it?
There is a reason she’s telling you this.
There’s a reason she’s emphasizing this to you: Look where she is right now.
Tumblr media
[Image Description: Undyne is sitting across the table from you.]
She was supposed to capture you.
But instead, she’s making friends with you.
If this is a flaw in Papyrus, this scene is her admitting to herself and to you, that this is a flaw that exists in her too.
But also, this scene, with her stumbling over herself talking about weakness, strength, weenies, not weenies… is her also realizing, through Papyrus, through Asgore through you:
This was never a flaw at all.
She’s different than Papyrus. She goes harder. She’s more willing to kill you. She’s more willing to push forward. But this scene is her coming to terms with a hesitation she’s been struggling with, a bad feeling when she finally makes her opponent fall, an urge she doesn’t seem to have fully thought through to teach Papyrus something else. This wasn’t a long term plan. There was no long term plan. She doesn’t know if she can ever let him in. She’s trying to delay having to make that decision, because she doesn’t fully understand the decision, or at least she didn’t until right now, sitting down across from the enemy and sharing something she’s always shared with someone she very much cares about.
Undyne didn’t know how to deal with the fact that she might not want to go to war after all, until the very moment that became an option. It was abstract before. It was easy before. But she’s had her doubts and finally now she understands them. And she’s trying to express this to you now at the same time as she’s trying to understand it.
And now that all this is out of the way and she can stop thinking about it, she’s going to work on befriending you AS HARD AS SHE CAN!!!
Tumblr media
[Image Description: Undyne is no longer sitting across the table from you. She has lept onto the counter behind her, and knocked everything to the floor. She’s thrown her head back and is grinning widely, challenging you to cook with her! “Fuhuhu!!! Afraid!?” she asks, and you can tell from her punctuation that she’s very excited about this. “We’re gonna be best friends!!!” ]
Anyway, I love Undyne, and I felt like this was a scene that needed more attention in her direction, because it’s not about Asgore and it’s not about Papyrus. It’s about her, our terrifying new bestie.
(also thank you @weia-yo for helping me with analyzing this scene months ago. Only just now had the necessary spoons to write it up)

who's your fave character to write for? 👀👀👀👀
my fave character to write for changes all the time i used to do a TON of swerve and have a lot of swerve ideas and im not really 'burnt out' on him per se but ive explored his character so much in terms of romance/smut that i feel im rehashing the same ideas and i think a fresh perspective would help
im a sucker for rodimus i have a soft side for arrogant people irl and crush hard on anyone who is just way too confident but i love how he is soft and really cares about people too bc i can relate to that i have so much love for rodimus even if he is a shallow bastard and makes poor decisions for his own ego, i feel like theres a lot of room for improvement there esp if he had someone as his opposite (cough rival cough) to push on him and force him to think outside his own worldview im a big dork for rivals to lovers tho its like enemies to lovers but enemies generally start off VERY antagonistic and rivals are generally antagonistic yes but have room for an underlying respect and admiration and wiggle room to how they could interact as friends
someone i never get requests for but love immensely with my whole heart is bumblebee all bumblebees (i even have a soft spot for bayverse but i will NEVER touch those movies i dont want them within the bi county area stay away from me) i have loved bee since i was a kid bc the first transformers i watched was tfa and i loved characters like jack spicer and bee and other such overconfident jerks with a soft side as ive explored other series that love for bee has only grown i love him when hes a bold leader who wants to earn respect but treats even his enemies with kindness and i love him when he's a scout who gets into trouble bc hes just too gentle and weak i have so many thoughts about bumblebee i love him lots i could go on and on about the different bees (and their relationships with starscream ill die on this hill) hes always such a gentle good guy and deserves the whole world i dont care if transformers is overrun with bumblebee content i want MORE
i also love to write cheetor but strictly beast wars and cyberverse cheetor i feel only terror with beast machines cheetor im a big sucker for anything that has a likeness to cats and the fact that his alt mode is a cheetah i think is so cool im a cat lady through and through i love cat mugs and posters and slippers so ofc one of my fave robots has to be the cat one which also brings up ravage whom i adore in a different way than cheetor they are complete opposites in many regards but they are both loyal which is a quality i treasure in any character or person i think the most interesting thing about ravages story (particularly idw here) is that he is essentially a man with a body that makes others see him as a creature rather than a person i like that the writers took the time to think about all the altmodes the decepticons have and how their original functions made them sympathetic to megatrons cause
i also like writing for rumble and frenzy (all the cassetticons really) although i have a hard time bc two of my friends are big cassette fans and i want to portray them in a way that they would when it comes to transformers or any fandom imma be honest and say,,,,,,,,, ive hardly looked at the source material i havent read much and i havent watched much i saw big sexy robots and i was hooked and i love the story but,,,,,,,,,,, theres no way my attention span would allow me to read a full range of comics man i dont have that in me
other than that i dont want to say that im clinical in how i approach characters but im technical and i know them in a general sense and expand upon them in a way i feel a real person with specific personality traits would act i want them to feel more in depth than just a one or two dimensional character i want to write them in various situations bc deep down we all are just,,,,,, love creatures we all love and we all love to be loved

im taking this fuckign class on ~exploring spirituality~ bc......... i needed a credit and it fit into my schedule, lmao.
and the class is taught by a sicilian roman catholic deacon (? ?? nickycore?) and like. literally its a two hour class where we just talk about religion and our relationship with religion (cries in queer ex-religious person) but yesterday we talked about ~witnessing~ (*cough* prothletising) and the prof actually made a pretty decent point abt it (for a catholic guy) about how offering judgement or trying to '''promote''' christianity is almost never helpful/useful to struggling people and how the best thing you can do both as a christian and as A Fellow Human Being is offer help and support. and thus if/when the topic comes up with that person of 'how/why are you doing this' then give that person the God 411™ if they continue to be open to it. but offering it without being given that opportunity by that person helps no one.
and also how, as a member of the clergy, he's found it counterproductive to talk to his parish about sin, especially 'harmless' sins (the example he gave was sex before marriage), bc doing so just breeds shame, which is again not really helpful to anyone and mostly just alienating for the person at hand.
but that made me think a lot abt nicky and his morality. and how thats portrayed in ttt (Avenging Hand Of God) vs. in the movie (We've Been Offered The Opportunity To Do Good So Lets Do Some Good). and how the former always struck me as. . . .. very very arrogant, to assume the will of God
Tumblr media
i mean 'a mistake can be forgiven'. i get it, the guy was an awful human being, but who are yoo ooo ooOUUuu to say what god can and can't forgive? you got the bitch on speed dial or something? (its also worth pointing out that theres no sign in the comic that this guy is religious. what does he care if he broke an oath before god? it makes nicky seem so out of touch for even bringing it up)
and i dont know. i mean... imo at least its clear that nicky is religious In Some Way in both movie and comic verse, but in the movie his ideas are communicated in such a way that they arent inherently 'christian' (note that in the movie nicky never actually invokes the name of god. i dont think he does so in the main comic either. which is a great detail imo! bc andy doesnt believe in god and he doesnt know if nile does! so when he offers up all these comforting ideas about Destiny and Purpose, he does so in a way that non-christians can find comfort in them, even if theyre 'christian concepts' when he thinks of them himself)
but compare that to ttt (and ill give the solo nicky story some slack bc hes talking to other christians there (other christians who use the bible as 'evidence' that theyre doing the right thing) but....... still.)
Tumblr media
'but those people really were evil!' i mean yeah. but the point here is nicky using his faith as a weapon of condemnation rather than as a motivator to do good and Spread God's Love (Trademark™). these people are evil not because God(Nicky) Passed Judgement On Them but because they are harming and enslaving people. nicky is killing them not because He Is The Instrument Of Sinners' Damnation but because these people are doing harm, and by killing them nicky is doing good for the people they are oppressing.
nicky reasoning what hes doing here is The Will Of God rather than strategical acts of violence which will have a net positive affect on the world is SUCH a Christian Person Red Flag™ to me. yes these people were all evil but when you reason that you, personally, understand the will of god, and that you, personally, can judge or condemn people based on that will, that opens SUCH an unnerving door in regards to how you see the world (& the people in it) and how you view your own judgement.
i mean,

wait I forgot abt my point in the tags. basically while the way the world in lxh is portrayed isn't like Perfect I feel like theres much more opportunity to meet legit kind and caring ppl in comparison to nomans bc well being on nomans is like being neighbors with hell. which yeah is a pretty simple deduction but give me a break here I'm tits deep in burnout & digging myself deeper rn my brain is Mush.
anyway tangent time but I think orrin would keep laojun at arms length bc he cant read him & doesnt like that but he respects his kindness towards humans. oh but he loves xuanli. simply because /i/ love xuanli. smile. all their interactions r just trying to find an excuse to start a fight w each other (affectionate)(they are both Big Dogys & they love to bite people and each other). in the present hes chilled out a lot (& idk what xuanli is like at this time yet so *starts pulling my hair out*) so while I think he has a similar relationship w xiaohei hes also a lot gentler & attentive w him & knows when to bow out when the little guy starts to seem like hes not into the roughhousing anymore. much earlier into knowing wuxian he once tried to roughhouse w him (he attacked him out of nowhere) but wuxian was Not in the mood & orrin had his ass thoroughly handed to him. so he does not roughhouse w wuxian anymore lmao. he still bites him sometimes bc that's just now he shows affection (hes also like a cat) and wuxian has just accepted that by now
wait I just got a hit of dopamine thinking "what if orrin but in trigun world". that world would make him evil I just know it
