Vicky Headcanons for @pizzavsburgers :))
<3 Victoria builds her own motorcycles and refuses to buy ones that are already built
<3 Vicky is banned from twitter
<3 She gave herself her first tattoo using a sewing needle and ink from a pen (please never do this, not recommended but it seems like something she would do)
<3 She loves milkshakes, especially vanilla or cookies and cream ones
<3 Glam carries a purse around full of those old-lady strawberry candies, and when he gives them to Vicky, it manages to calm her down or stop her from complaining lol
<3 Her favorite color is red like blood
<3 TW!!! Vicky's parents are divorced and her dad was an alcoholic. On his weekends with Vicky, he couldn't tear himself away from the bar long enough to pay attention to her, so he used to bring her along with him and she would stand behind him as he drank at the bar. Because of this, Vicky always makes sure that she never ignores her kids and loves to spend time with them.
<3 Vicky has been banned from attending school events for beating up kids that looked at HER KIDS wrong during the mother's day banquet
<3 Vicky is a bleeding heart for strays and animals. The only reason there is a "no pets" rule is because Vicky would spend way too much money on them and shirk off her other responsibilities to play with them all day.
<3 Vicky and Anna have been friends since high school, when they had feelings for each other. Anna still has feelings but Victoria does not reciprocate because Anna comes from a very privileged, wealthy background and it's hard for Vicky to understand her sometimes.
<3 Heavy LOVES to ride on the back of Vicky's motorcycles, and the only time Vicky actually worries about driving safely is when Heavy is riding
<3 Heavy and Vicky spend lots of time at the local arcade, and Heavy usually wins the games they play but is unaware because right before he wins the machine "suspiciously" gets smashed or broken. He's too focused on the game to notice it's Vicky
<3 Vicky loves all fast food, especially things she can put ketchup on
<3 Vicky and Dee have a yearly scary movie marathon together which can last anywhere from 8 hours to 4 days. Glam makes lots of spooky-themed snacks for them and Heavy tries to watch with them at first, but either falls asleep or is so scared he barricades himself in his room, where Glam will eventually join him with leftover snacks and they will watch fluffy hallmark movies together instead of the bloodshed downstairs
<3 Victoria's favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because she has a family she's very thankful for. She always tries to deepfry a turkey in the backyard but it explodes every year
<3 Vicky has committed arson
#metal family#victoria metal family#vicky metal family#these have been in my brain awhile#there's not much in canon about vicky so i really want to see more#a vicky-centric episode would be so nice#one where heavy says he wants to get strong to beat up bullies and she tells him her own experiences on how to deal with bullies?#anyways hope you enjoy!

episode one: the hellfire club
Robin waves her hands in the air as if to get Steveâs voice away from her. âEw! Gross, donât say boobiesââ âBoobies! Itâs not a big dealââ You make a face. âIt isnât the most pleasant word.â âOh, câmon. You like boobies, Robin likes boobies, and we all know I love your boobies specificallyâow!â You hit the back of Steveâs head with annoyance to get him to stop talking about your boobs. While he winces in pain and rubs his tender head, you turn towards Robin. âWhat my darling boyfriend is trying to say is that everyone likes boobs, and Vickie definitely likes them too.âÂ
Summary: el writes to you as if youre her husband away at war, you debate the intricate nature of liking boobies with robin and steve, lucas is your beloved while eddie munson is your sworn enemy, steve accidentally exposes your (horribly hidden) daddy issues, dustin is an angsty teen, and jonathan really loves to drop emotional bombshells on you. can you believe this all happens in one day ? lol cheers to senior year !
Rating: general, some swearing
Warnings: swearing, fem!reader, use of y/n, mentions of abuse, allusions to bullying, trauma lol
Words: 13.5k (wrote half of this in one day)

â
March 21st, 1986.
Dear Y/N,
Congratulations on New York University! Joyce tells me that it is a very good college, and everyone was extremely happy when Jonathan told us the news. He even had a smile on his face! It has been a very long time since I have seen him smile, especially without that weird smell on him (am I allowed to tell you about the strange plants that Jonathan seems to like now? He says that you cannot find out about it, but friends donât lie and he is your bestest friend).Â
I asked Will about it, and he says that Jonathan now smells because he misses you. If you ask me, I think that Jonathan smells because he is scared. We are still waiting for his college letter, afterall. I know you want to go to school with him, but so does Nancy. Is it possible to go to two colleges? Anyways, it must be a lot of pressure, even more with all the waiting we have to do, but Joyce told us that sometimes colleges take a long time to respond.Â
While I am positive that Jonathan will figure it all out soon, he pretends he does not care. But he is a very bad liar. He was very upset that Nancy could no longer visit us in California. Will was bummed too, but he was more sad that it was not you who was visiting. Joyce says that the Byers boys were born to miss you, and I think she is right.Â
I also miss you. I am still bummed I never went to school with you. I bet Mike is over the moon to have you with him for high school, Dustin and Lucas also. How is Max? Is she still sad? I know school has been hard for her. I will admit that it is hard for me, too. While I am good at maths, and my grammar is getting better, I am still unsure when to use conjunctions or why Angela does not like me. Will tells me to ignore her, but I want to be her friend. She is nice to everyone else. It confuses me that she is not nice to me.
A lot about California confuses me. The flowers here are different, and sometimes I forget that I cannot go and visit you. I miss the smell of Bookstrordinary (did I spell it right?) and your cookies. Please send more as soon as you can. Will and I are almost dying to taste them again! Mike says he will try to bring some on the plane, but I am scared he will be told no by those scary airplane people.
Speaking of Mike, he is coming to California this week! I am very excited to see him. It has felt like years, I think I am even going crazy. I have planned everything for his week here. Spring break will be extra special! It will be a fun distraction from Angela and school. This week I can pretend to be someone else, someone cool, and Mike will be very impressed. I know you tell me to always be myself, so I hope that I can make you happy by taking your advice on focusing only on the good.Â
To prove I will focus on the good from here on out, here is a good things list:Â
Mike is visiting!
Will has almost finished his painting. I am very curious to see what he has made. He is really talented, he shows me the drawings he sends you sometimes.Â
You got into NYU! Is this the correct way to abbreviate? I am still working on conjunctions, but I think I am supposed to use the first letter of every word in the schoolâs name to shorten it. At least, that is what Joyce says.Â
Jonathanâs new best friend, Argyle, will give us free pizza to celebrate Mikeâs arrival. It is really good pizza.Â
Tasting your cookies again. Fingers crossed Mikeâs plan succeeds!
I am sure there is more, but I am too excited about this week and my mind is going very fast. I miss you tons, maybe even more than Will and Jonathan do. Please come visit us soon. Like Joyce says, the Byers boys were born to miss you. Although I am not a Byers boy, I am still a part of the Byers family, and I miss you.Â
Love, El.
P.S., thank you for the grammar books. I will be sure to become the best writer ever in California.Â
â
Sweet, gentle, El. You can almost hear her voice, reading aloud to you as you used to do when she lived in Hopperâs cabin. She would stumble over the letters, ask you how to sound out particularly difficult words in Spider-Man comics; they helped her learn how to read. Now, almost a year later, sheâs writing you letters.Â
El has grown up so much within such a short few months, although it doesnât surprise you.
Laughing softly as you reread the final line sheâs written, you wipe your eyes and place Elâs letter onto your desk. The piece of paper joins the others, nestled gently with a pile of her other letters that are housed on your desk. El sends you a new letter every week, detailing silly stories about Jonathan and Will or concerned ramblings about Angela.
The letters make you miss El terribly. They make you miss everyone terribly.Â
Next to the letters are drawings from Will. Heâs become such an artist during his time in California. He sends you beautiful sketches of landscapes in their neighborhood, doodles from class, and incredibly detailed drawings of you and the party. The drawings are Willâs special way to keep in contact with you, and itâs something you cherish so deeply. However, you didnât know that he was working on a painting, and youâre curious to see what El is talking about. Eventually heâll reveal his art to you, he always does. Â
Skimming a finger over one of the more recent drawings from Will, your hand catches on the walkman that lays next to it. Jonathanâs messy handwriting is scrawled on the mixtape that sits within it.
For bug.
The words, familiar and loved, stare back at you. The mixtape contains songs that Jonathan so carefully chose for you. He spent countless hours selecting songs that he knew youâd love, songs that reminded him of you. It had been his gift for you before he moved away. And now heâs gone, and you miss him so much more than you ever thought you would. More than you ever thought you could miss anyone. Â
Jonathan never did end up coming to Hawkins for spring break.Â
âDusty, whatâs going on in there?â The sound of your mother pounding on Dustinâs door breaks you from your thoughts. âYouâre gonna be late.â
âDonât come in, Iâm naked!â You hear the boy screech back at her, which you roll your eyes at. Steve will be here to pick you guys up any minute. Dustin knows he should be ready by now, the schedule has never changed.Â
Throwing on the cardigan Steve got you for Christmas last year, you grab your walkman and storm over to Dustinâs room. At the same time, your mother nearly crashes into you in the hall. Her face is pale, horrified of the idea that she almost saw her son naked, and you pity the woman. Dustin has become relentless lately, even more difficult to deal with.Â
âY/N, my dear,â your mother clutches at her chest and fans her face. âCan you please make sure your brother is ready? I think that boy is trying to give me a heart attack.â
You sigh, figuring you would have to do so anyways. âYeah, sure. Go finish getting ready, Iâll handle him.â
âThis is why youâre my favorite daughter!â Your mother kisses your cheek before running off towards the kitchen to make her morning coffee.Â
Once sheâs gone, you immediately start banging on Dustinâs door. He knows you hate being late. Plus, itâs the Friday before spring break. Youâre getting antsy waiting for this week to end. âDustin Henderson, you have three seconds before I kick this door down.â
âNot now, Y/N!â Dustin shouts back, frantic and desperate.Â
You narrow your eyes. Heâs using his suspicious voice, the one he only uses when heâs doing something he absolutely shouldnât be doing. Glancing down at your watch and noting the early hour, you curse in disbelief. âItâs not even seven yet, what the hell are you up to so early in the morning?â
âNothing! Just go away, Iâll be out soonââ
âI swear, if youâre trying to sell my limited edition comics again I will hurt you.â You throw your body against the door, causing it to fly open as you stumble inside. Dustin is at his computer and he nearly falls off his chair in his haste to cover the screen from you. Heâs remarkably horrible at playing cool. Youâre about to tell him this when Suzieâs voice crackles through his radioâs speakers.Â
âYikes, Dusty.â
âSuzie?â You walk over to your brother and shove his hands off the computer screen. He falls to the ground with a loud thud, which pleases you. He may be a teenager now, but youâre still stronger than him. At least for now. âWhy are you calling her right nowââ Your eyes land on the screen and you recognize Hawkins Highâs familiar orange and green school colors. âIs this the student gradebook?â
âNo!â Dustin exclaims, but Suzieâs small and soft voice responds, âYes.â
âOh my God,â you cannot believe heâs making his girlfriend hack into your schoolâs database. Sure, sheâs a genius, but you also know sheâs incredibly religious. âDustin, this is so illegal and goes against, like, all of Suzieâs religious moralsââ
âI will repent later.â Suzie interrupts you, and you raise your eyebrows at what sheâs just said. Before you can question her, Dustinâs computer refreshes.Â
He leans forward, eyes scanning to see if theyâve succeeded, and he seems to like what he sees. Suddenly Dustin lets out a sudden whoop and fist bumps the air. âGod, I love you Suzie.â
Curious, you lean over and read the screen as well. There, where you know Dustin had a D- in Latin not even a day ago, is now an A. Thereâs no possible way he was able to raise his grade in under twenty-four hours. He sucks at Latin, he hates it, which means⌠She did it. Suzie changed his grade. All she had to do was press one single button to save Dustinâs GPA.Â
You have to admit, itâs impressive. And shamefully genius.Â
âHey, Suzie.â You bring the radio to your lips, shoving Dustin away when he tries to take it from you. âDo you think you could change my grade in calculus? Jonathan was the only reason I passed any of my other math classes.â
âOh, I donât knowâŚâ Suzieâs voice raises a pitch, she doesnât want to tell you no. She likes you, she really does, but her God figurine stares down at her with a disappointed look in his eyes. Sheâs sinned for love, but she doesnât think she could ever do it again.Â
Youâre about to plead with Suzie, tell her NYU really prioritizes their studentâs grades, but the sound of a car honking outside catches your attention; itâs Steve. Dustin yanks the radio from your hand and shoos you away. âGo, leave without me.â
âWhat, why? We always drive together.â You frown, feeling like a little kid when you cross your arms. Dustin smiles apologetically, a smile youâve become familiar with. Your mood darkens, anger rises to your cheeks. You know exactly why Dustin is now skipping out on you. âDonât tell me itâs that stupid Eddie Munsonââ
âHe wants me and Mike to work out some campaign details before lunch today!â Dustin scrambles to mediate. He hates that you donât like Eddie, and you like everyone. Itâs unnerving how much disdain you seem to carry for his friend. âNance is driving us, but I swear Iâll ride with you and Steve after break!â
You scoff at Dustin, not at all believing his promise to you. Ever since September your brother has been at Eddie Musonâs beck-and-call, who dictates everything Dustin says or does. At first it was innocent enough, choosing to sit with the guy instead of you at lunch. Skipping out on a few weekend plans with you and Steve to campaign with Eddie. Youâd been happy for Dustin. He was making new friends, no longer your little shadow; he was his own person with his own priorities and interests now.
But ever since getting into NYU last week, Dustin has been pulling away even more from you. You donât know why, but heâs become even more obsessed with Eddie and his stupid Hellfire club.Â
Eddie Munson is the air your brother now breathes, stifling the air Dustin once breathed for you.
And it seems to only be suffocating you, not him.
âYeah, whatever.â Halfheartedly you ruffle Dustinâs hair, and he leans into the touch. You donât want him to know his repeated absences are upsetting you. Deep down, you know youâre being irrational. Youâre almost eighteen, soon you wonât even be living under the same roof as Dustin. Heâs allowed to live his own life. âI guess Iâll see you at the pep rally. Tell Suzie I said bye, please?â
Dustin nods, though you donât linger in the doorway like you desperately want to. Instead, you shut the door behind you and place a swift kiss to your motherâs cheek as you leave.Â
Steveâs car is parked in its usual spot at the end of the driveway. The teenâs arm hangs out the window and his face breaks into a smile when he sees you approaching. Steveâs smile is infectious, itâs always charmed you, and it settles the ache in your chest from your brotherâs earlier dismissal. Feeling a smile spread across your own face, you run towards Steve and poke your head through the open window.
âHi,â you breathe out, nose almost bumping against his cheek.
âHi, angel.â Steve kisses you, solidifying your morning tradition. Neither one of you really remembers who started it, but sometime during the school year you began to slip your head through Steveâs car window so that he could kiss you slow and sweet.Â
And, as tradition follows, Robin starts boos. âDo you have to do that every morning?â
Steve makes a face at her and she punches his arm. He yelps in pain and you roll your eyes at the two of them before running over to the passengerâs side where Robin sits. Her window is rolled down as well and you duck your head inside. âAw, Robin. If you wanted a kiss, you couldâve just said so!âÂ
âA kissâ?â Your lips press against Robinâs cheek, smushing against her face while making a dramatic sound. She squeals and pushes you away, wiping her now wet cheek in disgust. âThat is not what I wanted.â
You giggle at her and finally get into the car. Itâs getting late, you see the assortment of Robinâs limited makeup dumped into her lap haphazardly. Sheâs been stressing about this morningâs pep rally all week, and clearly she isnât coping very well. Trying to cheer her up, you flick her shoulder. âIâll have you know that my cheek kisses are cherished in Hawkins.â
âHow many peopleâs cheeks are you kissing?â Steve turns in his seat to face you, slightly alarmed. Then, noticing that thereâs only one Henderson in his car, he frowns. âAnd whereâs little Henderson?â
âEddie Munson.â
âWoah, wait, you mean Eddie as in where Dustin is, right? Not, like, youâve been kissing his cheek? Iâm right, right? Please tell me Iâm right.â
You roll your eyes fondly at Steve while Robin rolls hers in displeasure. âJust drive, Steve.â
â
It becomes pretty apparent five minutes into the car ride that no one seems to be having a good morning. Robin has spent the majority of the drive applying and reapplying her mascara while messing with her hair. She groans every time she looks in the mirror and her eyes lack their usual brilliance.Â
Meanwhile, Steve has been complaining about yet another fight with his dad. Apparently they argued during breakfast, something that has become a common occurrence in the Harrington household.Â
âThe asshole again reminded me that Iâm turning twenty soon. As if I donât already know that! I mean,â Steve laughs in exasperation. âFor weeks now heâs been asking me what my plans are, as if working at Family Video just isnât good enough for him. As if my dad isnât the sole reason I had to get a lousy minimum wage job in the first place!âÂ
âFamily Video isnât a lousy jobââ
âYes it is.â Both Steve and Robin say at the same time, which you sigh at. Canât really argue with that.Â
âOkay, yeah. Itâs pretty lousy.â
Steve rubs his eyes tiredly. âAnd that isnât even the worst part. There I was, pouring syrup over my pancakes, trying to enjoy the fact that my parents are actually home for once, when my asshole of a father tells me that if I donât have a respectable job by the time Iâm twenty, heâll kick me out. I mean, can you believe that?âÂ
You suck in a breath. âSteveâŚâ
Richard Harrington is a cruel, awful man.Â
While you understand his frustrations towards Steve, itâs completely unreasonable to expect him to get a reputable job in a few short months without any college education. Steveâs right, it had been Richardâs idea to make him work at Scoops Ahoy in the first place. When the mall burned down, he had no other option but to work at Family Video soon after.Â
âIâm sorry, honey.â You intertwine your fingers through Steveâs hair and rub your thumb up and down the nape of his neck in a soothing manner. Steve allows the touch, but heâs still tense. Guessing that heâs uncomfortable feeling so pitied, you try to make light of the situation with humor. âBut hey, who knows? Maybe you can come live with me in New York if he ends up kicking you out.â
Steve risks a look at you, taking his eyes off the road for a few moments, and his eyes shine. Heâs ecstatic over what youâve just said. He looks like a little kid on Christmas Eve. âYou really mean that?â
âWell, I meanâŚâ It had mostly been a joke, a throwaway comment to try and get him to smile. But Steveâs body finally relaxes under your touch and you canât tell him no. âYeah, I guess I did.â
âYou hear that, Robin?â Steve preens, wanting to get her attention. However, when he realizes that she hasnât been listening to the entire conversation, he makes an offended sound. âRobin, are you listening to me?â
âUh, yes?â Her eyes meet yours in the mirror, startled that sheâs been caught. âYou were-uh. Talking to Y/N about your dad. We-we hate him! Yeah, we hate the guy. He really⌠grinds my gears?â
Steve groans. âWe all hate my dad, but that wasnât what I was talking to you about!â
âCut me some slack, please. Your relationship with your father is one of labyrinthine complexityââ
You poke your head between the two teens. âActually, itâs not that complicated.â
Robin covers your mouth with her hand and continues with her rant. âItâs seven in the morning, we have the stupid pep rally, and I woke up looking like a total corpse!âÂ
âI think you look lovely as always, Robin.â You mumble through the girlâs hand, barely coherent.
Steve, however, isnât as supportive. âYouâre worried about a pep rally? You really expect me to believe that?â
âYeah, so?â Robin removes her hand from your mouth and goes back to doing her makeup. Sheâs avoiding the conversation now, which only means that Steve is onto something. Why has she been so obsessed about this weekâs pep rally? Robin has been in band for years now, sheâs done a million pep rallies during her high school career. It canât be performing that makes her nervous.Â
Which means it has to be about someone.Â
Locking eyes with Steve, he seems to be thinking what you are. âI think we all know what this is about, okay? Y/N and I arenât buying that bullshit.â
âThis is about Vickie.â You finish for him, a smirk on your face. For weeks now Vickie has been all Robin has talked about. Her hair, how pretty her smile is, how cute her freckles are. Vickie also happens to be in band with Robin. âCâmon, you canât tell us weâre wrong.â
âI absolutely can tell you youâre wrong.â Robin denies what you and Steve are implying.
Steve shakes his head. âYou know weâre right! And you know what else we think?â
âI really donât careââ
âY/N and I think that you gotta stop pretending to be someone else when youâre around her, okay? You just gotta be yourself.â
Robin doesnât want to hear any of this. At least not from you and Steve. âYou guys are biased, you do realize that?â
âWhat do you mean?â Youâre practically laying across Steveâs car console in order to be a part of the conversation. âI think weâre objective people.â
âYouâre telling me that all I have to do is be myself and Vickie will want to date me?â
You frown. âYeah? Whatâs wrong with that?â
Robin throws her head back. âBecause it took Steve months to ask you out. Mind you, this was when you were already in love with the guy! And he knew you were in love with him!â
âOkay, heyââ Steve doesnât at all like what sheâs insinuating. He didnât necessarily know you were already in love with him, he just⌠had a small hunch.Â
âIâm not done,â Robin holds her hand up. âAll Steve had to do was man up and admit his feelings for you. He didnât have to agonize over whether or not itâd blow up in his face. There was no risk, no danger, no world ending consequences. I mean, if you had rejected him then maybe Steveâs ego wouldâve been bruised. But if I ask out the wrong girl? Bam! Iâm a town pariah.â
âThis is true,â you reluctantly agree. While you could never envision a world where youâd ever say no to Steve, you also recognize that the world where you somehow do wouldnât be the same world as Robinâs. Things are different for her, whether you like it or not. Robin has to live with this knowledge, and her conversation with you about luck and love from last summer echoes in your mind.Â
Steve places a hand on his chest, betrayed. âWhose side are you on, Y/N?â
âTrue loveâs side.â
Robin snorts and Steve doesnât bother to hide his smile. He wants to tease you for being a hopeless romantic, but now isnât the time. Instead, he continues the previous conversation. âTrue love aside, we canât ignore that Vickie is definitely not the wrong girl.â
âOh, she definitely isnât straight.â You agree.
âWe donât know that!â Robin quickly sprays some breath freshener in her mouth and gags, which you cringe at. Vickie is one lucky girl if Robin ever manages to become her girlfriend.Â
Steve doesnât let up, heâs convinced he has it all figured out. âShe returned Fast Times paused at fifty-three minutes, five seconds.â
âThe bikini scene, mind you.â You butt in, and Steve nods eagerly.
âAnd you know who pauses Fast Times at fifty-three minutes, five seconds? People who like boobies, Robin!âÂ
Robin waves her hands in the air as if to get Steveâs voice away from her. âEw! Gross, donât say boobiesââ
âBoobies! Itâs not a big dealââ
You make a face. âIt isnât the most pleasant word.â
âOh, câmon. You like boobies, Robin likes boobies, and we all know I love your boobies specificallyâow!âÂ
You hit the back of Steveâs head with annoyance to get him to stop talking about your boobs. While he winces in pain and rubs his tender head, you turn towards Robin. âWhat my darling boyfriend is trying to say is that everyone likes boobs, and Vickie definitely likes them too.âÂ
Robin canât even look at the two of you, appalled by how many times the word âboobiesâ has been uttered during the duration of the conversation. You canât blame her, the word has practically lost all meaning for you as well.
Steve, however, canât seem to get enough of it. âItâs boobies!â He exclaims again to no one in particular.
You and Robin lock eyes, and then, without saying anything, your hand covers Steveâs mouth while Robin flicks his forehead, effectively putting the boob conversation to an end.Â
âÂ
The moment Steveâs BMW slows in front of the school, Robin throws the door open and rushes out with a quick âsee you later!â to you as she runs to follow after her bandmates. Steve waves weakly as she goes and sighs in disappointment.
âSheâs never talking to Vickie, is she?â
âNot a chance,â you sigh as well, watching as Robinâs figure disappears in the crowd of students. Spring break looms over the student body, everyone buzzes with excitement over their week of freedom and tonightâs basketball game. The pep rally in just a few short minutes only adds to the exhilaration. Leaning forward, your lips graze against Steveâs. âAnyways, see you tonight?â
He bridges the gap between your lips, skin meets skin and warmth floods your stomach. âOf course, angel. I love you.â
âI love you, too, honey.â And with one last kiss, you exit Steveâs car and make your way towards the school. As always, Steve waits until youâre safely on the sidewalk before he pulls away and heads towards Family Video. Heâs started picking up morning shifts to fill the time he isnât with you.
On your way inside, you see Ms. Kelly talking to Max near the buses. The conversation is short, doesnât last much longer than a few seconds, and when Max turns away you notice Ms. Kellyâs patient smile drop. Clearly Max still isnât being cooperative when it comes to their sessions. She promised you she would start trying, but Max Mayfield has always been stubborn and youâve always been slightly overbearing.
Not the best combination, honestly.
With a sigh, you make a mental note to ask Max about what the counselor talked to her about later. Thereâs too much going on this morning to focus on it, and youâre already pushing Max by having her attend the pep rally anyways. Originally she had wanted to skip it and hide in the stairwell, but after begging her about it, Max finally agreed.
The conversation can wait. For now, at least sheâll be next to you in the bleachers alongside the boys to cheer on Lucas.
The thought was enough to brighten your mood a little, but it quickly became a pain in the ass to corral the party into sitting together. It took you almost fifteen minutes to find Mike and Dustin in the mass of students heading into the gym. Youâre not necessarily sure how it took so goddamn long given the fact that Mike towers over half of the students anyways. Heâs grown freakishly tall since starting freshman year. It unnerves you.Â
While his towering height annoys you, Mike likes that he can finally, literally, look down on you.Â
âThere you guys are!â You grab the back of Mikeâs shirt and he lets out a startled yelp. Dustin stumbles back as well, and an annoyed sophomore glares at the three of you. Ignoring her, you grab your brotherâs shirt and start dragging the two boys towards the bleachers. âThought we agreed on meeting at the water fountain that squirts water in your face?â
âI thought it was the library?â Dustin gives you an odd look. âWait, is there even a water fountain in the library?â
âYou amaze me.â You remark, not even bothering to answer his question. He listens like a bag of rocks. Mike just allows you to pull him, not at all contributing to the conversation.
Max waits for you in the bleachers. Sheâs saved you seats, something that you feel slight relief over. The simple gesture is small, but it sparks just enough hope within your chest to make you exhale softly. Hope that sheâs getting better. Hope that sheâs finally trying again.
Thanking Max, you and the others fill the seats as the gym quickly fills with more and more students until it threatens to overflow. The roar of the crowd is nearly deafening. Across from the bleachers resides the marching band. Theyâre playing the schoolâs anthem as the cheerleaders start their routine. Chrissy Cunningham leads them, her smile lovely and beautiful, she shines so brightly upon the crowd that you canât help but fall in love with her.
In the midst of the cheerleadersâ twists and flips, Robin manages to catch your eye from across the room.
You eagerly wave at her and mime playing the trumpet, copying her movements as she actually plays one. Robin laughs, and next to her is a girl with fiery red hair who laughs as well. Sheâs pretty, youâve heard countless sonnets about her red hair and dotted freckles. Knowing the girl is Vickie, you point at her as you wink at Robin, who scoffs and goes back to playing the trumpet.Â
Next to you, you catch the tail end of some bizarre conversation between Mike and Dustin.
âLook, Iâm not saying that my girlfriend is better than yours.â Dustin is clarifying, glaring at you when he hears your sarcastic snort. âItâs just that Suzieâs, like, a certified genius.â
Mike crosses his arms, looking towards you as if somehow this is all your fault. âYour brother realizes that El saved the world twice, right?â
âAdmittedly that is hard to beat,â you shrug. âThat, and she has cool powers.â
Dustin points a finger at the two of you. âAnd yet Mike still has a C in Spanish while youâre barely passing calculus.â
Mike rolls his eyes and you shrug again. Your brother isnât necessarily wrong either. Elâs saved the world, Suzie has saved his GPA. Both are nearly impossible feats. âTouchy subject, but touchĂŠ.â
âAnd what can your boyfriend do, Y/N?â Mike asks, now bringing the attention to your love life.
âHeâs good with a bat.â
Both Dustin and Mike groan, but you shush them when the schoolâs broadcaster announces the Tigers basketball team. Applause breaks out across the bleachers and you notice Max looking around for Lucas. Though she tries to hide it, you can see the interest and excitement in her eyes. Sheâs happy for him, but it breaks your heart that she feels that she canât show it.
Jason Carver, captain of the basketball team and former Scoops Ahoy patron before Steve spilled ice cream all over his pants, runs out first. The crowd goes wild, but you donât start cheering until you see Lucas. Heâs smiling wide, proud to be a part of the team. You scream as loud as you can for him, heâs come so far since confessing to you about wanting to join the team earlier this year. As Jason starts his speech, dramatic as he always is, Lucas sees you in the bleachers and waves shyly, a blush creeping across his face. Then, seeing Max next to you, his confidence seems to grow as he waves more enthusiastically at her.Â
The moment is sweet, it makes you smile.Â
Except Max doesnât wave back. She crosses her arms, pretends she hasnât seen him, and your smile drops alongside Lucasâ.Â
You know theyâve been having some trouble recently. With Max pulling away more and more each day, Lucas struggled to hold onto the fading girl. Despite his pleas and reassurances, Max still seems to be icing him out. According to Dustin, they broke up almost a month ago now.Â
But theyâve always had a tumultuous relationship, long before nightmares and monsters darkened everything. The news hadnât worried you at first, you thought it was simply another one of their weekly breakups over something small, innocent. Afterall, they were just kids when they first started dating. Their breakups were always childish, though endearing, and always temporary.Â
Now, youâre scared that this time itâs permanent.Â
Youâre not sure what that means for Max. She already has so few people left in her life to tether her. Billy died, her mother works two jobs and is never home anymore, El is in California, and you and Lucas are breaking skin trying to claw onto whatever small hold you have left of the girl.
Another loud cheer from the crowd breaks you from your thoughts. Jason mustâve just said something important, something worthy enough of a roaring reaction. Heâs always been popular in Hawkins, Steve used to complain about him to you back when he was still on the team. But when Steve graduated and Billy died, Hawkins High had needed a new King to crown.
Jason Carver was more than happy to ascend the throne.Â
âChrissy, I love you, babe.â Everyone awes and you see Chrissy blow Jason a kiss. Itâs sweet, you suppose. They fit together nicely, head cheerleader with the star of the basketball team, and they seem genuinely happy. Chrissyâs shy and kind demeanor balances Jasonâs loud and charismatic boldness. They truly are a good match.Â
âI think I can speak for all of us when I say itâs been a tough year for Hawkins.â Jason continues his speech, the room is eerily silent as everyone listens with baited breath. âSo much lossâŚâ The gym almost exhales simultaneously, remembering all the people who died last summer.
Your own breath exhales, and beside you Max tenses. Billyâs ghost floats through your minds, in through hers and out through yours. Hopperâs own ghost follows after him, only he doesnât haunt Max the way he haunts you. He lingers over you, his final words to you engraved into your skin.Â
Youâre the best of them.
âAnd sometimes I wonder, how much loss can one community take?â
Enough to fill a mall of burning bodies, you think bitterly.Â
Jason paces the gymâs floor now, he almost seems to glow before the crowd. He rambles on about needing something to believe in. That everyone should be doing something to honor all the lives lost in July, that playing basketball can absolve all the despair. As if it can bring them back.
Deep below your ribcage, nestled right underneath your scar and just in front of your stomach, rests a pit of anger that always simmers. You were born with it, it has always followed you. It has grown with you, the anger almost possessed your body when your dad left. Now, hearing Jason recite all the names of the ones who died that Fourth of July, the angerâs low simmer heats into a soft boil.Â
You try to quell it. Jason means well, heâs only trying to uplift the community in a passionate, albeit uncomfortably pastor-y way. Heâs only doing what he knows best; heâs being a leader. In another life, one where Demogorgons never harmed you, you think you wouldâve really admired Jason and his resilience.Â
âThink of Billy,â Your breath stills, yet your hand instinctively finds Maxâs. She turns away from you, but the room is spinning and you canât remember how to inhale. But Jason keeps going. âThink about our heroic police chief, Jim Hopper.â
Next to you, in your haze of grief and panic, you think you can feel Mike and Dustin shift uncomfortably. Grief sinks her claws into the kids, and you want nothing more than to puncture Jasonâs lungs with them.Â
This was supposed to be a pep rally for the Tigers, it was supposed to be joyous, an opportunity to bring Max out of her shell. To distract her from the hell that she calls her life. The entire school knows what happened to Billy, they know that he had a little sister named Max Mayfield.
You hate Jason Carver.
But youâre here for Lucas. Today is about him. Heâs finally happy, heâs smiling again. The least you can do is swallow down the anger and grief and hope that you donât end up choking on them later. That they donât strangle you in your dreams.
âAnd now tonight, weâre gonna bring home the championship trophy!â Jason screams into the mic, erupting a volcanic roar from the stadium. People throw paper into the air, whistling and jumping up and down at the prospect of Hawkins High finally winning a championship.
âTonight?â Dustinâs agonized exclamation causes you to jump. He looks at you, bewildered and panicked. âHow is that possible?â
Your heart still hasnât steadied from the surge of fury Jason evoked. Swallowing once again, you clear your throat and shake your head at your brother. âWhat, you guys didnât know about the game tonight?â
âThey call it a tournament,â Max explains for you, figuring you need some time to clear your head. You squeeze her hand appreciatively. âYou win one game, you go on until thereâs only one team left.â
Mike and Dustin exchange frightened looks, and you eye them suspiciously. âDid you guys really not know? I thought Steve explained all of this to you already. Why is it such a big deal, anyways? I meanâwait,â the boys wonât meet your gaze. They avoid facing you, Mike stuffs his hands into his pockets and Dustin pretends to read someoneâs poster.Â
You know the fearful look on their faces. Itâs the same look Dustin gave you this morning when he ditched you to ride with Nancy and Mike.Â
Goddamn Eddie Munson.Â
âOh, donât you guys dare.â They wouldnât. They wouldnât fucking dream of missing one of Lucasâ games for a stupid club centered around some guy with enormous ego problems. âI swear to God, if you two skip the game tonightââ
âWe wonât! I-I mean⌠Well. Itâs, uh. Itâs complicatedâ Dustin gulps, elbowing his way through the crowd of departing students as the pep rally ends. Mike follows, ready to step in at any moment, while Max slips away before you can stop her. Seeing how contorted your body is from anger, Dustin tries to appease you. âLook, I canât promise anything, alright? Eddie is⌠Eddie.â
Youâre about to scream some very choice words about that curly haired emo asshole, but Lucas intercepts the group and joins you guys. He looks between you, Mike, and Dustin, sensing some underlying tension. âWhat about Eddie?â
Mike quickly explains, and the more he talks, the more you want to shove your knives down Eddieâs throat. Itâs one night, one goddamn night, and here Mike and Dustin are, almost shitting their pants at the idea of missing one Hellfire meeting to support their friend. While itâs unfortunate that all of this is happening on the same night, and though you recognize how long a campaign can take and how much the game means to the party, for once you canât bring yourself to understand Dustinâs side.Â
A championship game versus one single campaign meeting that can easily be done tomorrow instead.
Seems like a pretty easy decision to you.Â
Lucas doesnât understand why Mike and Dustin are so conflicted either. âI donât get the big deal.â Youâre all outside now, heading towards the main building for your classes. âJust talk to Eddie. Get him to move Hellfire to another night.â
You nod, agreeing with him, and Dustin rolls his eyes. ââJust talk to Eddie.ââ
âYou canât be serious right now,â your shoulder brushes harshly against the boyâs. Youâre barely containing your anger right now. âWhy does Eddie have such a strong hold over you guys? Hasnât he repeated senior year twice now?â
âWhy does that matter?â Mike looks at you as if youâre the scum of the earth that he just so happened to step on. âWhy canât Lucas just talk to his coach and get him to move the game?â
Dustin quips that he thinks Mikeâs idea is a great one, but you shove between them and throw your hands in the air in annoyance. âYou canât possibly think thatâs the same thing, right? A nationally organized game being postponed for a board game.â
Mike and Dustin both gasp at you, acting as if youâve just threatened to kill a baby bunny in front of them, which only annoys you more. Sure, maybe youâre being a little mean right now, but youâre not appreciating how theyâre treating Lucas. Heâs never done anything to warrant this blatant disrespect from them. Theyâre refusing to see his side, too lost in their Eddie induced high.Â
âDnD isnât just a board game, Y/N! Iâm honestly disappointed that you of all people would even say that. Youâve seen the intricacies of a campaign. You know Iâve spent all month now preparing for the end of Eddieâs campaign!â Dustin waves his hands in front of him, heâs in his own ecstasy of anger and annoyance, something innate in the Henderson bloodline. âA semester of adventuring has led to this moment, and we need Lucas.â
âYeah, and the Tigers donât.â Mike looks over at Lucas. âI mean, no offense, but youâve been on the bench all yearâshit!â
You swat the back of Mikeâs head, the sound of his yelp satisfying and the sting of the hit soothes you. He looks at you, offended, and you just shake your head at him. âNo, that was out of line and you know it.â
âOne day Iâm gonna be too tall for you to hit me, you know.â Mike scowls at you as he rubs his head.Â
âAnd Iâll mourn the day when that happens,â you respond dryly before pointing at Lucas. âNow, apologize to him before I hit you again.â
Lucas lowers your finger and shakes his head. âItâs fine, Y/N. Me being on the bench isnât the point, anyways.â
âPlease, arrive at the point.â Your brother drops his head back and closes his eyes. Heâs tired, he regrets even starting this conversation in the first place. The more the four of you talk, the angrier he can feel you become. Mikeâs head may now be sore, but Dustin lives with you. If anyone here is in danger of your lecturing, itâs him.
âIf I get in good with these guys, Iâll be in the popular crowd, and then you guys will be too.â Lucas explains, looking between Dustin and Mike as he urges them to understand, but they donât. Mike claims that they donât want to be popular, something that Lucas doesnât believe. âWhat, you wanna be stuck with the nerds and freaks for three more years?â
âWe are nerds and freaks!â Dustin exclaims, causing a few students in the hall to look at you guys. You wave at them awkwardly, youâre starting to regret following the boys. This conversation feels personal, like you shouldnât be intruding. Though you think Lucas has every right to want a good high school experience, you also think Mike and Dustin deserve to have their own experiences as well. If they donât want to be popular, then thatâs their decision just as much as itâs Lucasâ to want to be.Â
You step between the three boys, finally getting their attention. âGuys, no one here is necessarily right or wrong. Lucas has every right to want to be a part of the basketball crowd, and you two,â you raise your eyebrows at Mike and Dustin, âhave every right to want to stick with Eddieâs crowd.â
Dustin sighs, âthanks, Y/Nââ
âIâm not finished,â you hold a hand up and shush your brother. âWhat isnât right, however, is abandoning one another. You guys are friends, and right now Lucas wants you at his game tonight to support him. Tonight is special, everyone will be there, and I want you guys there as well. I know high school is hard, but itâs even harder when youâre alone.â
âSays the girl who is adored by everyone in this shitty town.â Mike huffs, he canât believe how hypocritical youâre being. âYouâve never had to deal with what we do. No one has ever laughed at you or tried to make you jump off a cliff just because youâre different.â
You clench your jaw. Dustin looks at you wearily, he doesnât like what Mike is saying, but he also canât help but agree with his friend. You havenât ever been bullied. All your life youâve blended in, stood out only when you were kind to others, admired for your selflessness, but never enough to be invited to parties or dumped behind a dumpster.
âMikeâŚâ Your brother tries to pull him away from you, but you both stand your ground.
âYouâre right, Wheeler. I donât know what itâs like.â You stare up at the boy, and Mikeâs expression softens only slightly. Heâs just as stubborn as you are, itâs why the two of you admire the other so much. âBut you forget that Iâm Jonathanâs best friend. The creep, the loser, the psychopath. Kids may not have ever targeted me, but Iâve seen what they do to the people they hate.â
All the times you had to ice Jonathanâs bruised face. The nights you spent in his room holding him as he cried because Lonnieâs fists and Tommyâs cruel words were too much. The sneers, the stares Jonathan received because he was different. Quiet. Being your best friend hadnât lessened the blows.Â
For years you wish you couldâve done more for Jonathan. Now, presented with Lucasâ opportunity to befriend the crowd that once was so cruel to your friend, you refuse to lose it. âThatâs why I donât want Lucas skipping the game tonight.â
Itâs silent for a few moments, all three boys donât know what to say. Taking a deep breath, Lucas stands beside you and breaks the silence. âWe came to high school wanting things to be different, right? Now we have that chance. Like Y/N said, if I skip tonight, thatâs all out the window. So Iâm asking you guys, as a friend, just talk to Eddie. Get him to move Hellfire.â
Lucas pauses, he wets his lips and looks between his friends again. He feels so small, pleading for their attention. âCome to my game. Please.â
The bell rings, ending the conversation, and Lucas spares one last look at Dustin and Mike before mumbling a soft goodbye to you. He leaves you alone with the boys, who in turn mirror conflicted expressions.Â
âShit!â Dustin kicks his foot out and looks at you. âThis is all your fault, you know that?â
âWhat is?â
âMe having empathy. I hate this. Why couldnât you have raised me to be an asshole?â
You snort at Dustin before pulling him into a weak hug. You only have a few more minutes before you need to get to class, you canât stay very long, but you also donât want to leave the boys without some semblance of comfort. âYouâre too charming to be an asshole. Just⌠Come to the game, alright? Both of you. Iâll even make brownies if I have to. I just-Iâve missed you guys. This will be good for all of us.â
Mike ducks his head and Dustin sighs once more. Neither want to say anything else, so you reluctantly release your brother and leave them alone to wallow in their self-created misery.Â
Theyâll do the right thing. Youâre sure of it.
âÂ
Lunch comes and Alex sits next to you. He started sitting with you at lunch just after winter break, and youâre endlessly grateful for him. Youâre no longer alone, and heâs good company. A part of you regrets that it took the two of you three years to grow your friendship outside of Bookstrorindary.Â
Youâll miss him when you graduate.Â
Max is with Ms. Kelly today, a change in their usual meeting schedule of Tuesdays and Thursdays, meaning you had been right. She did skip their meeting yesterday and the counselor had to corner her this morning to schedule another one.Â
âBe honest, how excited are you to move to New York this summer?â Alex asks you, taking a bite out of his carrot stick. Youâve come to learn that he has a weird obsession with the vegetable, always packing at least twelve of them every day.Â
You pick at your own lunch, a wilted salad and sandwich your mom left for you this morning. âHonestly? It hasnât really hit me yet. I mean, I only got in last week. I think my mind is still trying to catch up with reality.â
âOh, câmon. You canât tell me youâre not at least a little excited.â
âOkay, okay,â you laugh and nudge the boy. âIâm a little excited. I just.. Havenât really had time to think too much about it, you know? Between work, my brother, Steve, the kids, andâŚâ
âJonathan?â Alex finishes for you. Heâs the only one who knows about how distant Jonathan has been. Youâve confided in him about how worried you are, about the phone calls while heâs high and the way Jonathans voice no longer sounds like his.Â
You shove your lunch away, no longer hungry. âYeah.â
âYou guys call every Friday, right? Maybe tonight will be different!â Alex tries to cut through the tension that now corrodes your demeanor, which you smile at him gratefully for.Â
âYeah, who knows.â A piece of hair falls in your face and you push it behind your ear. Picking up your fork again, you attempt to finish your meal, but a sudden commotion interrupts the low buzz in the lunchroom.Â
âAs long as youâre into band, or science, or parties.â Eddie Munson sneers from the cafeteria table heâs standing on. He looks around the room as if everyone else is beneath him. Not worth his time just because they enjoy different things. Looking at Alex, you both sigh and prepare for whatever Eddie has to say today. His voice grows louder, shouting across the room towards the basketball teamâs table. âOr a game where you toss balls into laundry baskets!â
Jason stands up and a few students whoop and cheer. âYou want something, freak?â
Eddie sticks to fingers up behind his head as he creates little devil horns, snarling with his tongue out and hissing. Jason grimaces, you do too.Â
âHeâs a little much, isnât he?â You say to Alex, relieved when Eddie starts to step down from the table.Â
âHe terrifies me.â Alex breathes out, not taking his eyes off Eddie in fear heâll somehow cast a spell on him.
You laugh at your friendâs unnecessary fear. Eddie is harmless, Hellfire isnât a demonic cult like some students at Hawkins seem to think. It really is just a club centered around a board game with impressive storytelling and detailed plotlines. From what Dustin has told you, Eddie truly is the best dungeon master in Indiana.Â
And while you believe him, you canât wrap your head around why your brother idolizes Eddie so much. The fascination runs deeper than just DnD. Dustin has spent almost every day of his freshman year wrapped around Eddieâs finger. He spends all his time with the teen now, rarely with you, but youâre not bitter. Of course youâre not. Dustin can have his own friends, you know this, but you also feel so⌠unneeded.Â
Your little brother doesnât need you anymore, and itâs a hard pill to swallow.
Truthfully, Alexâs question earlier about moving to New York in the summer sparked more than just your usual anxiety over Jonathan. It also reminded you that in only a few short months youâll be in an entirely new state, a new city, far away from Dustin.Â
âY/N!â Dustin flies into the seat next to you, nearly upending the table itself with how violently he throws himself down.
Alex shrieks and you steady the table before anything can fall. Heart pounding, you clutch at your chest as your nerves settle. âWhy must you always be so violent?â
âBecause itâs fun,â Dustin responds, not even bothering to acknowledge Alexâs presence. Instead, his eyes are only on you, and thereâs a crazed spark in them. Heâs breathing heavily, frantic, and you dread where this is going. âLook, I need to ask you a huge favor.â
âDo you realize that this is the first time youâve sat with me at lunch since the first day?â
He winces. âAnd I will repent every day for my horrendous sins. I promise, I justâJesus youâre terrifying when you donât blink.â Dustin removes his hat to fix his hair, a nervous tick of his. Heâs stalling, he shouldâve never come here. Gulping, he rips the band aid off. âI need you to sub for Lucas tonight.â
âIâm sorry?â Youâre giving him an out, one chance to back down before you strangle him.
Only Dustin tightens the noose even more. âPlease, Y/N! Eddie wonât move the campaign. He said something about sheep and-and finding subs because Mike and I are, uh. I guess the future of Hellfire and he needs us and did I mention how important this campaign is? Itâs super cool, super gory and totally up your alley andââ
âNo.â
âN-no?â Dustin practically deflates in front of you, the light in his eyes dies.Â
You shove him away from you, you donât want to look at his pathetic pouting. Youâre so unbelievably hurt right now, so fucking infuriated. âYou have spent every goddamn waking hour ass kissing Eddie. You havenât so much as looked at me during lunch this entire year as if Iâm a fucking plague. Youâve canceled plans, youâre hardly ever home, and now you expect me to abandon Lucas, someone who has spent time with me this year, someone who has made this entire year less lonely for me. Something, by the way, that you havenât even noticed, all because you finally need me?â
Dustinâs mouth opens and closes, he doesnât know what to say, but for once you donât care. How could he possibly think youâd miss Lucasâ game tonight? You adore the boys, each and every one of them, and now Dustin expects you to just abandon one of them for the others?Â
âYouâre only here because itâs convenient for you.â You hiss, venom pouring from your voice. âFor Eddie.âÂ
âY/NâŚâ Dustinâs voice breaks, he sounds like a little kid again, the baby brother you doted on your entire life. âPlease.â
âNo!â You scream at him.Â
The word echoes throughout the cafeteria. A few students turn to you, some curious, some annoyed. Alex draws into himself, wishing he were anywhere but here right now. Dustinâs eyes widen, his skin pales, and you clamp your hand over your mouth, completely and utterly mortified.Â
Youâve never, ever yelled at Dustin like this before. Not with so much malice, vitriol.Â
You feel like youâre twelve again, your anger hurting your baby brother.Â
Red hot with embarrassment and shame, you quickly get up from the table and flee the cafeteria. Dustin calls after you, but you stumble through the hallway towards the nearest bathroom. Tears burn your eyes, guilt wracks your body in painful thuds.Â
By the time you lock yourself in the bathroomâs stall, your sobs have begun to claw their way out of your throat. Pressing your back against the wall, you sink to the ground and pull your knees into your chest as you finally allow yourself to cry.
Abandonment makes you cruel. Your father taught you that.
âÂ
You donât see Dustin for the rest of the day. Heâs missing Lucasâ game and youâre angry with him for that, but you also feel such an intense guilt over your outburst. You canât stomach the thought of seeing him.Â
School ends and Steve drives you to work. The shift will be a short one due to the championship game, and Steve is staying with you so that you can drive to the game together. However, the moment you get into his car, he notices the dried tears on your face and the redness in your eyes and immediately throws his arms around you. In between shaky breaths and cries, you explain what happened to Steve.
He soothes you, tells you that you can always talk to Dustin after tonightâs game. Right now you and your brother need space from one another, and you hate that Steveâs right. Youâll force Dustin into a code blue, youâre long overdue for one, anyways. Heâs been acting weird for weeks now. Someone has to give in, you know this, and if it has to be you then youâll do anything to get your brother back.Â
For now, Steve holds your hand as he guides you through the crowd of people in the bleachers. They all cheer for Hawkins High, the energy in the gym is electric. Faces are painted, cheerleaders wave their pom-poms, and youâre wearing Steveâs old Tigers jersey. Youâre not much for school spirit, but Steve almost crashed the car when he realized you were wearing the jersey, and you know Lucas will appreciate it too.
âY/N, over here.â Steveâs hand falls onto the small of your back as he gently pushes you towards some open seats heâs found. You lean into his touch and sit beside him. With his body against yours, you try to immerse yourself in the joy from the crowd.Â
The entire town is here tonight. Everyone is smiling, kids laugh and parents wave posters for their sons. Tonight will be a good night, youâve decided this to be true.Â
The national anthem is announced and everyone rises in their seats. When the broadcaster announces that Tammy Thompson will be singing, you and Steve look at each other incredulously. Laughter rises within you and you cackle when Robin finds the two of you in the crowd. Thereâs no way this wonât end in disaster.Â
Tammy walks out, wearing a horrendous faux cowboy outfit, and almost immediately sings off-key. You cringe, ears stinging from the attack, and try desperately not to let out any laughter as she continues to butcher the song.Â
Steve whispers over to Robin, âtold you. Muppet.â
âOkay, she does sound like a muppet.â Robin agrees, which only makes it harder to contain your giggles. Tammy is worse than a muppet, she sounds like a goddamn muppet that broke into her dadâs alcohol stash.Â
âYou sound better, angel.â Steve whispers into your ear, breath warm against your skin.Â
You lean back against him and smile sarcastically. âAnyone can sound better than her.â
Steve chuckles and you canât help but join him. You know itâs rude, that Tammy is honestly not that bad, though definitely not good enough for Nashville, but you canât help it. You canât believe Robin ever had such a huge crush on the girl who now drones the national anthem like a dying parrot.Â
In between breaths of laughter, you see Lucas looking up at the bleachers. His face is grim, he doesnât see Mike or Dustin or Max. None of his friends showed up, and you watch him with sympathy. You canât believe them.Â
But then Lucas sees you, and he gives you a weak smile. Your attendance isnât enough, you know it isnât, but you hold up the poster you made for him and he laughs despite himself.Â
The game starts, and from the moment the whistle is blown, itâs intense. The Tigers are neck and neck with the Falcons. Steve tries to explain whatâs happening throughout the game, but it all goes over your head. The energy in the room is intoxicating, though. You lean forward in your seat, you cheer when everyone else does, boo when you think you should.
âCarver just loves hogging the spotlight, doesnt he?â Steve says with disdain as he watches Jason side sweep his teammates to score.Â
You poke his side, you know heâs only saying this because heâs still bitter that Jason tried asking you out last summer. âHoney, your jealousy is showing.âÂ
Steve tries to deny this, but then a player gets injured during a foul from Falcon, causing you and Steve to both spew insults at the player. You have no idea what the foul even is, but youâre enjoying the chaos of the game.
In the midst of your uproar, you almost miss Lucas being sent into the game. You slap Steveâs chest repeatedly to get his attention, you almost donât believe what youâre seeing. âSteve! Is thatââ
âSinclair!â He whoops, but he quickly scrambles to catch you as you nearly throw yourself off the bleachers in your blind excitement cheering. Youâre screaming your head off, hardly even registering Steveâs hands on your waist. Youâre incoherent and ecstatic, drunk on adrenaline.Â
Lucas is playing.
The game only gets more brutal from there. The points even out, both teams neck and neck. Anxious, you squeeze Steveâs hand with anticipation. Everything happens so fast, Lucas plays so naturally with the others, as if he was born to be there.Â
âGo, Tigers!â You jump up and down as Lucas runs after Jason. Theyâre doing a new play, attempting to score the tie breaker. Jason shoots, the ball hits off the backboard and onto the rim. Your breath catches, thereâs only three seconds left on the clock. The ball falls, and there isnât any time left.
Until Lucas catches the missed shot. He dribbles the ball, you clutch Steveâs hand, neither one of you utters a single word as Lucas makes the final shot. Itâs an all or nothing throw, a risk, but he takes it anyways. The ball soars through the air, hits the rim. The buzzer sounds, the game is over, and the ball spins around the rim before finally sinking through the net.
Your chest burns as you violently cheer, Steve flings himself into your arms. Youâre both jumping around, screaming together like little kids. âHey did it!â You scream, and Steve shakes you in his arms with the biggest smile on his face.
âSinclair did it!â
Down below, Lucasâ face lights up as the crowd goes wild for him. This is the happiest youâve seen the kid in so long. The entire basketball team swarms Lucas, they lift him into the air and you cheer alongside them.
Steve tells you heâll go warm the car up and you practically run outside to find Lucas as soon as the game is done. Your body buzzes, youâre still breathless with exhilaration. When you find Lucas, heâs just left the crowd of teenage boys. Wanting to surprise him, you creep up slowly before throwing your arms from behind him. âThereâs the star!â
He stumbles from your weight, but he knows itâs you. Laughing, he turns around and you pull him into a bone crushing hug. âYou came!â
âOf course I did, you moron!â You giggle, pulling away to straighten his jacket. âI made you a poster and everything.â
Lucas looks down at the poster that hangs by your side. His eyes light up, he remembers seeing it in the stands at the beginning of the game, but he hadnât been able to read it from so far away. âCan I see it?â
âIâd be offended if you didnât want to see it.â You unroll the poster and present it with a grand flourish. âTada!âÂ
Sin to win, Sinclair!
Youâre incredibly proud of the wordplay, and Lucas chuckles. Itâs good, he has to admit. Youâve left no white space on the poster, littering with small 8âs for his jersey and millions of small stickers and decorations. The poster was made with love, and Lucas knows you spent hours making it.
âI love it, Y/N.â He does. It will hang on his wall as soon as he gets home.
You beam at him. Then, from behind you, you hear your brotherâs own cheers as a door opens. Lucasâ smile fades, hurt creeps upon his face. Frowning, you turn and find Dustin and Mike high fiving their Hellfire friends as they all celebrate the end of their campaign. Erica is with them, cheering with everyone else.Â
âLucasâŚâ Your breath gives out. He doesnât deserve this. Tonight was supposed to be his night. You turn to him, wracking your brain to try and figure out what youâre even supposed to say at this moment. Fifty feet away Lucasâ close friends are celebrating a night without him, his sister overjoyed as well. Theyâve forgotten about him.
For once, you canât find the right words to say.
âThanks for the poster, Y/N.â Lucas doesnât want your sympathy. He leaves, crestfallen, and youâre left standing alone holding the poster he had been praising seconds ago. The late March air chills your bones.Â
Youâve never been so disappointed in your brother before.
âÂ
Steve drives you home and youâre silent the entire time.Â
âDustin isnât a bad kid, Y/N. You know that.â Steve tries to reason with you, but what your brother has done tonight leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. âIâm sure by tomorrow heâll realize he was a jerk and apologize. He always does, heâs just being a stupid teen boy right now.â
You face the window, watching the trees fading into the distance. You know Steve is right, you know that Dustin is still growing up, making mistakes. Hell, no one is perfect at fifteen. When you were his age you were falling in love with your best friend as you hunted monsters together. Neither you or Jonathan or Nancy knew what the hell you guys were doing back then.
But this is different. Dustin has never betrayed his friends like this before. He, out of all of them, should understand the pain of being left behind. He spent half the summer upset that the party ditched him, and now heâs ditching Lucas?
âYou know, I used to be a stupid teen boy.â Steve says, trying again to get you to say something. To look at him, at least.
It works, a small smile turns your lips. âI never knew.â
He laughs at the sarcasm in your voice, but he plays along anyways. âOh, I totally was. I just hid it really well by, you know, making you hate me for a while by being annoying. But hey, look at me now! Iâm still annoying, but at least I have it all figured out with you.â
âAnd what do you have figured out, honey?â You turn your head towards him, watch the street lamps illuminate his face.
Steve smiles. âUs. Our future. Sure, I may not know if Iâll ever get a better job, but Iâm sure as shit staying with you, starting a life together so that I can annoy you for all eternity.â
âHow romantic,â a giggle falls from your lips. Youâve been with Steve for nearly a year now, but you havenât really talked about the future yet. At least not so intimately, with so much assurance that in the end itâll be the two of you. âAnd where will we live, Romeo?â
âNew York, obviously. As soon as you graduate, weâll find some horrible, run down apartment thatâs barely big enough for two people. Weâll move in, but there wonât be any air conditioning so weâll almost murder each other in the heat. Everyone will hate the place, but weâll love it.â
As Steve talks, the smile that had once been on your face begins to fade. He rambles on, not noticing the shift. He dreams up the plans, how heâll stay home while you go to class. How heâll fix the leaky faucet that will inevitably annoy everyone. Steve envisions himself waiting for you to come home after a long day of classes and falling into his arms.Â
âSteveââ But he doesnât hear you. Heâs busy explaining how heâll probably have to sell his car to afford the apartment, but that he doesnât care, and you feel sick. Itâs too much, heâs giving up too much. Heâs willing to give up his entire life for you, drop everything and follow you without any questions asked.Â
Itâs what your mother did for your father. They met in college, both attending Purdue. Their relationship had been a whirlwind. Love at first sight, married as soon as they graduated, your father convinced your mom to follow him back to Virginia. To abandon her family and move two states over while pregnant with you. She didnât know anyone in Virginia, her father moved them to a small town where only his name was known.Â
The divorce that followed twelve years later ruined your motherâs life. She had been left all alone, no family to support her, no friends, in a state she never grew up in.
And now Steve wants to do the same for you.
Raising your voice slightly, you try to interrupt him again. âSteve!â
âWhat?â He looks over at you, words finally dying. âDo you want to keep the car?â
âYou⌠you canât.âÂ
Steve frowns. âI canât what?â
Your hands shake. Your heart trembles. Your words die in your throat. Thereâs so much you want to say, you can feel the pit in your stomach build into a fist. You canât let Steve do this. He doesnât understand that he deserves more than this. âYou-you canât come to New York.â
Everything stills. You donât dare to breathe, to disrupt the silence. Your words come out all wrong, you know they do, but theyâre out in the open and Steve doesnât look at you as he pulls into your driveway. Silent, he turns the carâs engine off.
âY/NâŚâ Steve still canât look at you. He places his hands on the steering wheel, as if bracing himself for whatever will unfold tonight. Heâs scared, he doesnât understand what heâs done wrong. His mind flashes, and for a brief second heâs back at the Halloween party and youâre Nancy in his passenger seat. âDo you not see a future with me?â
âI do!â You sit up in your seat, reach over to touch Steveâs thigh. You need to feel him, to ground yourself to him. Everything about this feels wrong. As if youâre hanging over the edge of a chasm with a long, long fall. âGod, of course I see a future with you, I just-this isnât what you really want.â
Steve doesnât want to move to New York, even if he doesnât realize it now. What heâs really doing is chasing after a dream that isnât his. The timing of this is off, he fought with his dad this morning about a future he was unsure of. You know Steve, maybe even better than he knows himself; heâs not doing it for your relationship or out of love. Steve only wants to appease his father, fulfill whatever desire he thinks you have. This isnât what he wants, and heâs worked too hard to build the life he has now, without you, to simply throw it all away.
But he canât see that right now.
âOf course this is what I want, Y/N! All I want is you.â Steve finally looks at you, but thereâs a hardness in his eyes. Heâs detaching himself from you, putting his walls up. âYou and me, thatâs what I want.â
You grab his hand, you try to keep your voice calm. âSteve, I love you so, so much, but I canât-I canât let you give everything up for me. Your life is here, in Hawkins. You have a job, you have your friends and-and your family, and it wouldnât be fair to either one of us if you abandon it for me. You could-you could resent me for it later, you could realize you hate our life and wish you never followed me andââ
âY/N, what did you think was going to happen when you were applying to all those colleges?â Steve runs a hand through his hair, he thought you were beside him this whole time. He assumed youâd been carving out the same future he had been. But he was wrong. âDid you really think Iâd just stay behind and wait for you to come home every break?â
âIâŚâ Shamefully, you hadn't been considering what would happen between you and Steve. In your mind, he was your future, he was in it, but the details were hazy. You werenât sure how, or why, or when, but you knew that in the end, Steve was the person youâd spend forever with.Â
Steve takes your hesitancy as his answer. âGod, Iâm such a fucking idiot.â
âSteveââ
âYou were just going to leave me.â
He tears his hand from yours and you blink back tears. Youâve never fought with him before, not like this. âI wasnât just going to leave you! I just-Steve, please just listen!â
âI am, Y/N!â Steve exclaims, voice reverberating the car. You flinch away, and he immediately lowers his voice, apologetic. He hadnât meant to scare you, he hadnât meant to make you cry. Ashamed, Steve turns away from you. âI-Iâm sorry.âÂ
He wants to wipe the tears heâs caused, but selfishly he also wants you to hurt like heâs hurting. You donât see a future with Steve. You were going to leave him just like everyone else does.Â
Steve shouldâve known all of this was too good to be true.Â
âI love you,â your voice is almost inaudible, the three words barely reach the light before they disappear into the dark night. Youâre not sure why you say them, the words had built in your chest, the pressure heavy, and you needed to release them. To remind Steve of your oath to him.Â
Silence fills the car. Steve doesnât look at you, his shoulders are drawn together. His jaw clenches and you know heâs trying desperately to bite his tongue, withholding the cruel words that only heartbreak can provoke.Â
âHoney,â you beg him to say something, anything. âSteve.â
âI think you should go.â
The dismissal punches your throat, knocks the wind out of you. Heâs shutting you out, closing himself off from you, and you donât understand how the two of you got here. âI⌠Are you sure?â
âYes,â Steveâs words are cool, composed. Indifferent, almost. He still doesnât look at you, his eyes remain focused on something in your driveway. âItâs late, you should get some sleep.â
âOkay,â you donât want to leave, you know it isnât good to go to bed angry with the one you love. Anger should never simmer, it should never be left unwatched. But Steve is silently asking you to give him space so that he can hurt, and you arenât selfish enough to deny his request. And yet youâre selfish enough to press your lips to Steves cheek, but he doesnât lean in like how normally does. Instead, he remains stoic, and you swallow down your tears and open the door to leave. âDrive home safe, honey.â
Steve doesnât say anything else. Instead, he starts the car as soon as the door is closed and drives away. He doesn't look back, he doesnât wait to see if youâve made it inside your house safely.Â
Tears spill down your face as you blindly walk towards your front door. Your argument with Steve replays over and over again in your head. You analyze every second, every word, you try to understand when everything fell apart.Â
Itâs dark in your home, your mother is asleep and Dustinâs door is closed, but right now all you want is your brother. You need to talk to him, cry into his shoulder and smell the shampoo heâs used ever since he was a baby. Your feet carry you to Dustinâs room and you pound on his door, begging him to let you in. You donât bother masking the tears in your voice, youâre too exhausted to hide them from him. âDustin, please let me in.â
âGo away!â Thereâs a thud on the door, heâs thrown something at it to shut you up. He doesnât want to hear some stupid lecture right now. He knows he was an asshole tonight, he regrets it, but right now all Dustin wants to do is sleep. Heâll deal with you tomorrow.Â
âCode blue,â you press your forehead against the door, your tears fall to the ground. âC-code blue.â Your voice hiccups, more tears come, minutes pass, and your brother never answers.
For the first time since you were kids, Dustin rejects your request for a code blue.Â
The phone rings. The sound pierces through your ears, cuts through the headache that is starting to form. Itâs Friday night. Jonathan is calling.Â
Squeezing your eyes shut as you head pounds, you inhale shakily. You have to answer him, otherwise heâll only call over and over again with concern. Youâve never missed a phone call, not once in the months since Jonathan has moved, but tonight youâre exhausted.Â
âCan we call tomorrow?â Youâre too tired to greet him and voice cracks, revealing far too much already.
âBug?â Jonathanâs high, heâs always high. And yet even in his cloudy haze of smoke he can hear the anguish in your voice. âIs everythinâ okay?â
His question only makes you cry more. Youâve always tried your best to put up a front for others, to pretend that everything is okay. Youâve never wanted to worry people, youâve always pushed aside your own hurt for the sake of others. Now, as anger and grief and despair clasp their hands around your throat, youâre terrified youâll suffocate.Â
Youâve never been able to lie to Jonathan, and tonight you donât think you can. âIâve had⌠the worst night.â You confess to him, wiping away tears.
You tell him everything, your fight with Dustin, how you think he may resent you leaving for college. You tell Jonathan about Lucas, how you were so disappointed in Dustin and Mike. Choking through tears, you explain to Jonathan your fight with Steve. How your words failed you, how hurt he looked, that you canât explain to him how he only wants his future to align with yours, but not with your relationship.Â
Even though you know that Jonathan wonât remember any of this tomorrow, for once youâre grateful that heâs too high to remember anything. It feels good just being able to say it all out loud.Â
ââM sorry, bug.â Jonathan mumbles over the phone once youâve finished explaining everything. He sounds far away, figuratively and literally. You canât imagine how much his drugged mind retained, but youâre thankful to have gotten it all off your chest anyways.Â
âItâs fine,â you inhale again, youâve finally stopped crying, though your chest still hurts and your head still pounds. âSteve and I⌠Weâll figure it out.â
Jonathan pauses, and for a moment you think heâs fallen asleep, but then his voice floats through the telephone line. âDo you.. Do you ever wonder if weâve made a mistake?â
He strings his words slowly together, says them one by one with a hesitancy, and you frown. You donât understand what heâs trying to say. What mistakes could you have made together? âWhat do you mean, bee?â
âI just⌠everythinâ is so hard. With Nance. Feel like⌠like âm never enough for her. And you, Steve. âS hard between you guys.â Jonathanâs words slur, heâs almost too incoherent to understand, and later you will wish that you hadnât been able to understand him at all. âBut you ân me? âS easy. Always so easy.â
His words toe the line between you, he canât mean any of it. You donât want him to mean any of it, because then the fallout would be too catastrophic to contain.
Heâs Jonathan. Your oldest, dearest friend. Your best friend. Years ago, you couldâve been something more, you almost were something more, but the time has passed.Â
Youâre with Steve now, youâre happy and so, so in love with him. Even though everything is tangled between you right now, even though youâre fighting, you know that you and Steve will figure it out. Heâs the one. Heâs the man you want to marry one day, if heâll allow you to.Â
Jonathan is your past, Steve is your future, and right now youâre terrified that soon youâll lose them both.
âJonathan,â you finally say, his name now heavy on your tongue. It feels like youâre betraying someone while saying his name, but you need to end this conversation. Before Jonathan says something heâll regret in the morning. âYou love Nancy, I love Steve, and you need to go to sleep.â
âLove you,â Jonathanâs words slur even more, his voice drifting off. âYou, always youâŚâ
You slam the phone done, ending the call, as a chill runs down your spine. Silence encases you, the house is still. The strings and threads from years ago constrict around your throat. You choke on the lines Jonathan has crossed tonight, the tightness in your head stabs against your skull.Â
There is no one to hear you, no one there to hear your final words to your best friend. âGoodbye, Jonathan.â

SFW alphabet
Hi hi hi. So here is a SFW alphabet head canon for the Beautiful Girl universe. I really enjoyed this - it was a lot of fun to come up with. I used a template used by @barcaatthemoon if you want to see her ones.
Beautiful Girl masterlist
Affection
Ale and Amor are the most affectionate people in the world. Amor is pretty tactile with most of her friends (especially Ingrid and Frido - they are like sisters from other misters) but with Ale it is next level. Amor has found that Ale really likes scratches (back or head but anywhere really) and Ale likes to trace Amorâs features and stuff, itâs really cute
Best Friend
Amor has tried to make it so that Ale and her have separate friendship groups within the team, and they have succeeded for the most part - Amor hangs out with Ingrid, Frido, Aitana, Esmee and MapĂ whilst Ale hangs about with Irene and Marta (or âthe grandmasâ as Vicky and Martina have christened them). Amor wouldnât verbally say it but Ale is definitely her best friend as well as her girlfriend, and itâs the same with Ale. But they do recognise that thatâs not necessarily the healthiest, but they just canât help it
Cuddles
They are cuddlers to the extreme. If MapĂ thought there double movie date nights were bad, she should see them when theyâre actually alone! It varies (usually depending on what Ale needs at the time) but Ale is usually the little spoon. Their fav cuddle position is Amor on her back and Ale with her head on Amorâs chest and Amor has a hand on Aleâs hair - Aleâs weight really helps Amor relax (a bit like a heated weighted blanket) and Amorâs fingers are magical at helping Ale destress
Domestic
Omg on off days they are so domestic. Literally their version of a good off day is waking up whenever (no alarms on off days - thatâs very sacred to Amor and Ale will do whatever to make Amor happy) and then having a nice ole cuddle before going down for breakfast and really taking their time over it, then they do a joint-tidy of the house before going to get ready to go out for a lunch somewhere (either just as a date or to catch up with friends etc) then coming home mid-afternoon and either just crashing on the couch or some afternoon sex and then crashing in bed (mood dependent)
Emotions
Amor said I love you first but Ale felt it first. Ale was in love with Amor before they officially got together but definitely felt it by the champions league final. Amor fell slowly and then really quickly - it was happening a little more every day (especially when they were at home and Amor got to see the real Ale) but after the UWCL final and she got to witness Ale win her first champions league title, she was just like yup Iâm in love. Amor told Ale she loved her just before they got the photo with the trophy and she barely finished the sentence before Ale was kissing her (and thatâs when the photo they used to hard launch was taken). Ale said it back immediately afterwards and now itâs one of the best days in Aleâs life for so many reasons
FiancĂŠ
They mutually agreed to propose to each other. They both would get down on one knee and they would both be asked. Amor did it first - they were in bed and she just couldnât help it, she popped the question whilst Ale had her head on her chest and it was very much just like âwhat would you do if I asked you to marry me right now?â And Ale was like âobvs Iâd say yesâ so when Ale got up to go to the bathroom Amor whipped out the ring and had it ready to go when Ale came back. Ale proposed a few weeks later and it was on the roof of their building watching the sunrise and it was a really pretty one and Ale just held up the box and was like âwill you marry me?â And Amor cried (which she really wasnât expecting to do because Ale already said yes to her). They proposed around 3 years of being together and then got married fairly quickly cos of the off season and stuff and it was small but really romantic and very well planned (really aesthetic too)
Gentle
Amor is the gentlest soul on the planet. She will do anything to make sure everyone is smiling whenever sheâs around. Sheâs just so in tune with Aleâs emotions itâs on a totally different level - she knows exactly what Ale wants and needs before Ale does herself. Behind the tough Capitana persona, Ale is truly a sweetheart and it shows whenever Amor is around. Ale is just so careful and sweet towards Amor and makes sure she wants for nothing
Hugs
Ale swears on her mother, that Amorâs hugs are magical. No doubt in her mind. If sheâs having a bad day, all she needs if a hug from Amor and everything is better. Amor just loves to hug and be hugged by Ale. Aleâs arms are Amorâs safe place and everything is right in the world if Amor can have an Ale hug
Intimacy
Amor was the first person to introduce Ale to casual/non-sexual intimacy. Aleâs previous partnerâs had never really done it with her but Amor is very much down for a romantic bath or shower or massage without the intention of sex/sex being the end goal. It took Ale a minute to get used to it but now she loves when Amor washes and dries her hair for her or gives her a nice little massage on her legs/back and then lots of back scratches whilst cuddling before bed
Jealousy
Neither of them get too jealous. They are very secure in their relationship but usually âjealousyâ comes out when other people arenât getting the hint or arenât taking no for an answer. Usually it involves the other coming up to them and just kissing them straight up, then a little âoh, whoâs your friend?â Or âhi sorry, Iâm Aleâs/Amorâs girlfriend/fiance/wife, who are you?â
Kisses
Alexia needs Amorâs kisses to be a functioning human. No kisses = bad time for the team. And Amor needs Alexiaâs kisses just as badly. Amor is such a fan of kissing Aleâs neck/collarbone when sheâs hugging Ale and Ale always gives Amor a sweet forehead/top-of-the-head kiss. (Amor also likes to affectionately chomp sometimes too)
Little Ones
Ale interacting with children has anyone weak at the knees, but it honestly makes Amorâs heart stop and her ovaries explode. Whenever Ale sees Amor chat to a kid, she swear she falls more in love with her. Neither of them really considered kids in the future but seeing each other interact with the little fans has set the baby fever raging
Morning
Ale thought she was a morning person, and then she met Amor. She no longer wants to do anything in the morning that would drag her out of bed and away from Amor. Amor is a little less intense over her morning cuddles, but sheâs very much the same, if she can rearrange or schedule stuff until the afternoon (or at least mid-/late- morning) she will. She needs her Ale cuddles
Night
Their night routines are pretty similar from when they were single. They usually come home from training, have a shower and whatnot then lounge about on the couch - either doing some tactical work or just binging a show depending on if anything needs to be done - and then they make dinner together (although most of the time Ale just sits on the counter chatting to Amor whilst Amor cooks for them) and then they eat and Ale does the dishes whilst Amor sits on the counter and then they hop into bed before flicking on their show and snuggling down for the night
Open
Some people would say that Amor hides things, but she really doesnât. This relationship is the first time sheâs had someone actually want to know everything about her (not just the superficial stuff) so she kind of forgets what kind of things you would tell people in a relationship. Amor has definitely gotten better at it, but she still sometimes comes out with things that Ale has never heard before. Ale is a complete open book to Amor. Ale just felt so safe and at ease with Amor, even from the first day they met, she was spilling everything from the get-go really. It doesnât annoy Ale that Amor doesnât really say much until itâs âexposedâ by accident. Ale is well aware of Amorâs past relationships and experiences that have left her with some pretty tough feelings to work through, and Ale has promised she will be there every step of the way
Patience
Amor is the queen of patience. It stems from growing up in a very busy household and having a pretty large friendship group whilst being naturally quite a reserved and quiet person. Ale is pretty patient too (Eli made sure she was raising a good person that wasnât quick to anger). They are big proponents of arguments doesnât mean shouting and you can argue without being nasty or making it personal.
Quizzes
Both Ale and Amlr have memories like elephants. It kind of creeps the team out sometimes when theyâll come up to them and ask about how that appointment was that they mentioned one time in passing a few months ago. But they are both fantastic listeners and great at giving really tailored advice. Theyâre also really good at getting presents for people (even if theyâve only met the person once or twice)
Remember
Amorâs favourite moment in their relationship was definitely reuniting after the 2023 World Cup. They literally refused to let go of each other and spent the whole night just soaking up each others presence (they didnât even have sex until the day after and Amor spent the whole day âworking on her Spanishâ and it really got Ale worked up and they broke Amorâs record of âhow fast can Ale cumâ). Aleâs favourite moment in their relationship is the few seconds after Ale kissed Amor for the first time. Ale pulled away and hand her hands cupping Amorâs cheeks and Amor just stood there with a small gentle smile and her eyes closed and a little blush and Ale was just like, this ⌠this is what life is for.
Security
They are both equally as protective of each other. Itâs more effective for Ale cos sheâs La Reina and has a very good mean stare if the opposition is getting a little too close to Amor. Amorâs protectiveness comes out if she thinks Ale is injured or sick in anyway. She literally becomes like a chihuahua or something, small and loud and protective. Even though Amor is the gentlest person on the planet, she has a very good mean stare she can whip out when needed
Try
Ale will but 1000% effort into anything that has to do with Amor. Date nights re planned to the moment, anniversaryâs are organised with military precision, gifts are thought of and executed flawlessly. If Amor is involved (even in the weirdest most convoluted way), Ale will give maximum effort. Amor is exactly the same, it just looks a little different. Amor isnât as severe with her planning and is very flexible with things but she puts just as much effort into it as Ale does
Ugly
Amor hates it when Ale leaves her clothes next to the laundry basket and not in it. It drives Amor insane. Similarly, Ale hates when Amor doesnât put her used coffee/tea/hot chocolate mugs in the sink/dishwasher. She swears she wants to scream sometimes. But at the end of the day, they really arenât that deep, and they can tell the other is trying to stop the âbad habitsâ
Vanity
Neither of them are too pressed about their looks but they want to look nice if that makes sense. They have their sacred monthly self-care high-maintenance-to-be-low -maintenance nights and they definitely but pride in their appearances whenever they do go out. Ale loves it when Amor picks her outfits for her and they try to be cohesive (not matching necessarily) for events and things. Match day fits are such a fun thing for them to do and they plan their home day fits perfectly
Whole
Ale definitely has an Amor-sized hole whenever theyâre apart and Amor feels like a limb is missing if theyâre separated for whatever reason. National camps definitely arenât fun but theyâre usually so busy that they donât have time to miss each other too much. But tournaments where thereâs a lot more down time, itâs torture for each other - to know that theyâre in the same town/region but canât see each other and have a lot of free time but they usually donât align very well so they canât even sneak away on an off day. Itâs just painful for them (and their teams)
Xtra
Amor has a locket with a picture of Ale and her in it that she only wears to national camps. Ale has a box of things that Amor has given her over the years that she will periodically take out and reminisce over
Yuck
Amor really hates tomatoes. It really complicates things for catering purposes. Ale has a strong dislike of mayonnaise.
Zzzz
Both Amor and Ale are in bed by 9.30/10 most nights. Theyâre labelled the grannies of the team cos they go to bed so early. When Amor was in Germany she was even worse and usually in bed by 8/830 but Spanish people donât eat early enough for that so sheâs had to learn to adapt. Although if sheâs home and Ale isnât, sheâs definitely in bed by 8 pm

Platonic Stobin bodyswap AU idea I'll never write. This has been in my drafts for over a year (since July 2023 per the timestamp)
Post season 3; During the season 3 bathroom confession scene Robin came out to Steve, and Steve came out to her. She knows he's bi, and she's the only one who knows. Swap starts off slowly for Steve and Robin. Little moments of vertigo where the world doesn't look right for a few seconds, that progresses to black out periods of time spanning 5-15 minutes. It's them switching bodies but it's so traumatizing (they are FREAKING out) that they don't remember it. So, it's like they're just losing moments in time, which still freaks them out.
Then one day they wake up and they're... each other. And they just don't go back.
And Steve can't really pass as Robin to her parents but thankfully they just blame it on 'moody teenage angst' and "you can talk to us about anything babygirl we love you so much and we're here when you need us." Which. Yeah, Steve cries about. But it also comes with the side of GOD FUCKING DAMMIT I HAVE TO FINISH HIGH SCHOOL AGAIN??? I CAN'T PLAY THE TRUMPET ROBIN YOU HAVE TO DROP OUT OF BAND
And Robin also cannot pass as Steve at first, but she gets to see how that matters exactly 0% because the Harrington's don't even notice. They also aren't around near as much as Steve makes them out to be. But she does get to enjoy the freedom of a legal drivers license and no job currently. HOWEVER she has walked Steve's pretty face into several doors/poles/walls because cute girls keep looking at her with hunger in their eyes and she doesn't know how to handle this.
(It makes more girls interested in a suddenly shy, stumbling, nervous Steve because those girls think they're the reason Confident Sex God Steve turns into a mess but really it's just Robin not knowing how to exist in a world where woman want her and fish fear her (sorry bad joke))
Anyway, queue shenanigannary for a bit. Steve encourages Robin to go on dates because why not get some practice in while they wait to swap back again? (he's holding out hope)
Do they have the awkward discussion of 'what are the limits to what I'm allowed to do in your body????? I dunno yet.
Anyway, Robin goes on dates. ((Does she end up going on a date with Vickie? Canonically Vickie's got no problem dating older boys? How to solve this plot line for when(if?) they switch back bodies? IDK dudes, that's Future Jess's issue.))
At some point, the gang finds out. Probably Dustin realizing Steve isn't as Steve-like as usual. He'd sniff out something was wrong with his brother for sure.
But then season 4 starts. Robin taught Steve how to play the trumpet back in August/Sept and it's then they realize that they kind of share their knowledge? Like... Steve picks up how to play the trumpet EASY. At first they think it's just Robin's body using muscle memory but then Robin realizes she knows things only Steve should.
Anyway, Steve is in band with Vickie the night of the Championshipgame, chatting easily while also trying to hint that 'Hey, I think Steve Harrington is checking you out???" while trying to tell Robin with telepathy (that they don't have... yet? Decide if they end up with telepathy later) to try and subtly check out Vickie. But neither girl is subtle so they both just whip around to stare at each other and Steve is facepalming.
NO WAIT. DO I MAKE CHANGES TO THE NARRATIVE BECAUSE IF STEVE IS IN HIGH SCHOOL AGAIN, THERE IS NO WAY HE'D LET DUSTIN AND MIKE SKIP OUT ON THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. Maybe??? Will decide on this point later. Until then, above points stay.
Anyway, Chrissy still dies (sorry) and Eddie's still on the run, but like this time in the boathouse, Robin invites Eddie to stay at 'his' big empty house 'cause the parents are gone and Robin has no hangups about Eddie like Steve did in canon (he is the first person we hear call Eddie The Freak).
The end point here is that Robin, Steve, and Eddie spend A LOT of time together at Steve's house and then the angst falls in because Steve starts to fall in love with Eddie.
So, he has a breakdown in a bathroom with Robin about it, all sad and crying like "I really fuckin' like him Robs, but I can't- there- we can't-"
"I need you to take a breath and tell me what the issue is," Robin says.
"I like him Robs, but this is your body. I can't take things from you. Like your first kiss. And I certainly can't- I won't put your body through... you know. I can't do that to you."
And it takes Robin a moment to process what he means. Romantic entanglements that Steve might want to have would have to happen with her body. And maybe Robin isn't sure what to say/do because the thought of a guy and his dick anywhere near her body immediately freaks her out but... she's not in her body. She's in Steves, and has been doing things with girls in it. It never occurred to her that Steve might want to get hot and heavy with a guy in her body and maybe she's got something to unpack there???
Anyway, no time to worry about that. Vecna's gonna kill Max so they gotta go. Also, Eddie does NOT know about the body swap.
She does tell Steve to kiss Eddie, though, in the end. When they're not sure they'll live. So, Eddie calls out to Steve. "Make him pay." So, to Eddie, it looks like Steve gives him a nod and it's Robin who marches up, grabs his face, and plants one on him. Robin(Steve) doesn't stick around long enough for Eddie to kiss back (Steve wants him to because he wants a proper kiss from Eddie, but he also doesn't want him to because Eddie thinks he's kissing Robin and if he kisses back it means he likes Robin, not Steve, so Steve doesn't lock lips long enough find out).
Something something they all survive and then Eddie, hopped up on pain meds in the hospital, demands to speak to Robin. So, Steve slinks in, afraid of what's going to happen, and Eddie's like 'Robin. I appreciate that you like me but you are unfortunately a girl and I am not into that.' And Steve is like!!! my time!! It's come!!! I HAVE to get back to my body.
And then at some point they switch back. Maybe El doing some mind fuckery? Idk.
And for fun, here's the beginning of the fic that idea written out:
"Whoa," Steve blinks rapidly as the world tilts and shifts. It's very sudden, and over just as quickly as it started, but it still leaves Steve unanchored for a moment. It was probably brought on by the concussion he's been nursing these last two days, since the whole Starcourt shit. He leans sideways to try and use the wall as an anchor until everything feel right again.
He should, probably, be more concerned about this because this has been like, the fourth time this has happened and when he told Robin about it, she confessed it was happening to her, too. That Owens guy had told them there could be unknown side effects to whatever the fuck they'd been injected with and this might just be part of that. It'll fade, Steve's sure, as the days go on. Never mind that it has been happening more lately. It's going to fade. It has to.
Except, it doesn't. The sensation of be unanchored gets worse, and now it comes accompanied with loss of time. Steve will feel the tilt and shift while standing in the doorway to his room and the next thing he knows he's got a hand on his front door, keys in his hand, and doesn't know where he was trying to go.
Ring Ring
Steve shakes his head, shakes away the feeling of wrongness and goes to answer the phone. "Harrington residence, Steve speaking."
"Steve! Steve, it's getting worse!" Robin's voice sobs at him from the other end of the phone. "I-I was in the kitchen and then I was, like, huddled in the bathroom and I don't remember going there."
"Fuck, me too. I just came to standing at my front door, about to leave but I don't remember getting there, or where I was planning to go," Steve confesses back. It's strange, how easily Robin has become a part of his life. He was expecting her to not want to be withing five miles of him ever again, after what he got her dragged into, but it seems Robin isn't scared away. Perhaps it's just that he's the only other person she knows who went through Russian torture. Even if that is the case, Steve'll take it. He likes Robin a lot.
"Should we... call Dr. Owens?" Robin sounds so small when she asks.
"I don't want to," Steve confesses but doesn't elaborate. Calling Dr. Owens means admitting that something is wrong wrong. Steve doesn't want anything to be that wrong. He wants to get back to his life. He's got to get back to job searching, too, and Dr. Owens might deny him that.

Charlie Morningstar is probably one of the worst written characters Iâve seen in the series.
(This oneâs gonna be a long oneâŚ)
OkâŚ. So I watched all six episodes and to be honest Iâm pretty much pissed off by this character specifically. This might be more of a rant rather than a critique, so I do understand that not everything I say in this will end up being as constructive exactly but I genuinely need to get this off my chest, especially since she is a character Iâve specifically and recently been hyper fixating on before the show releasedâŚ
(Side note: I realized the post was very long so, to have it be easier to read I added titles for each section! Hope this helps)
!!WARNING FOR SPOILERS FOR THE SERIES BTW!!
> Charlie lacks the qualities of being a main character.
Now besides the piss poor excuse of an introduction for her (and the rest of the cast) in the main series, I honestly question why exactly Charlie specifically is the âprotagonistâ in the first place (and I say protagonist with the biggest of quotes here, youâll see why).
In the first episode of the series âovertureâ, we donât really see much of her character, most of the time weâre shown screen time of Vicky (a nickname I made for v*ggie since Iâm not gonna call her by her genitalia thank you) trying to make an ad for the hotel and even when we do get the screen time of her, sheâs barely doing anything other than hearing vivâs self insert- I mean- Adam just go on and on about whatever heâs talking about.
And when Charlie does go on to explain her plan to redeem sinners sheâs just interrupted and then stands there when they start singing hell is forever, she doesnât âgo offâ like the hazbin Twitter says, she just stands there and then tries to say something only to get interrupted again and again and then gets pushed out of the meeting room before going back to the hotel to see itâs spread across in the news that the next extermination happens in 6 months.
Now although one might argue âWell didnât Charlie at one point said in the show that giving orders is so mean?â Well yes but again, Charlie is literally the princess of pride ring, you would think that since her parents are literally rulers of pride, they wouldâve probably teach her how to stand on her two feat, especially if your RUNNING A HOTEL. And the thing is, she has stood up and did so in episode 6 and the goddamn pilot (which is at this point is probably canon due to Charlie calling it the hazbin hotel instead of happy hotel), even going as far as to fight Katie Killjoy because she thought it was stupid.
Not only that but the episodes after overture, her screen time lessens until somewhat in 5 and 6. She doesnât really appear that much in the between these episodes to the point where she feels like a supporting character rather than a protagonist. And when she does get screen time, sheâs either forgettable at best and infuriating at worst.
> Charlieâs character is poorly written and just dumb.
In the episodes past overture, sheâs literally rock solid stupid that I literally screamed in real life multiple times âyouâre a fucking idiotâ because of how frustrated I was from what she was doing, In episode 2 she literally trusted sir pentious to go to her hotel even though he almost destroyed her place and in episode 6 thought it was a hunky dory idea to let a person who literally exploded buildings to take charge of giving her employees a âgood timeâ. Yes it could be played off as her being naive but if sheâs that naive of a person then maybe she shouldnât be a boss of a hotel to rehabilitate sinners.
Heck, in episode 4, Charlie gets pissed off and turns into her demon form because val literally started hurting Angel when he followed him into the room (and rightfully so) but when angel tells her to leave and drags her out of the studio, sheâs just in her normal form and fucks off??? Reminder sheâs literally the princess of hell! She could beat the shit out of val if she wants to, why did she just fucked off after angel had her leave?
âBut Kat, what if something bad happens to angel if valentino dies?â Like what? If it was explained that if an overlord dies then the sinners that made a deal with them die too or something like that then yeah, that would make sense but we donât know that whether or not thatâs the case, if anything angel could be just fine after Valentino dies but we donât know that.
And even when Charlie had the opportunity to go out there and apologize to him herself after he stormed out of the hotel, she and Vicky just send Husk to do it. And I have to ask, WHY? HUSK didnât know what was happening to Angel earlier. HUSK wasnât at the porn studio that Angel was working at. CHARLIE WASâŚ.
âWell Kat, what if Charlie was scared about making things worse?â Fair enough, but again sending Husk is a stupid idea, I feel like it wouldâve AT LEAST made sense if she sent Vicky out there. Because Charlie didnât know if husk could fight (if you could even call it that, all he did was throw cards at people), BUT SHE KNEW VICKY COULD THOUGH. But nah we gotta do it for the ship right?
And then Charlie had the gull to be crying that angel forgave her after she fucked up, like shut the fuck up⌠itâs like if viv looked at a bunch of chars that had the optimistic care-free âish personality and thought that meant making her as pathetic as a baby crying that they didnât get a lollipop from their mommy.
Like Iâm gonna be honest with you, itâs literally gone to a point where I think Orel Puppington (aka the 11 yo Christian kid who worships Jesus and gets harmful lessons from other Christians) makes a better Charlie Morningstar than the Charlie Morningstar herself!
And that thought is justified when he tried to go help people in Sinville, âKat he ended up turning into a pimp at the end of the episodeâ yeah but AT LEAST HE TRIED TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING! Which leads me to another questionâŚ.
> How is Charlie gonna redeem sinners exactly???
Like honestly, Iâm serous with this one. How is Charlie gonna redeem these guys?
I ask this because in the series, she barely does ANYTHING to help these guys, she and the rest of the characters just sit around and then do an activity that is the equivalent of something you would do in kindergarten except itâs with ADULTS.
I donât know about you but If your idea of helping people is doing just that and nothing else, then the only thing the people around you are gonna get is them being annoyed at first and eventually walking out with thinking your not helping them but rather just treating them like a baby who doesnât know anything, and the only thing your gonna get personally is nothing because you did dick all.
Like other than that she pretty much just whines about sinners not going to her hotel and oh gee I wonder why, itâs not like your not doing anything to help these sinners not committing sins anymore, oh definitely not, your absolutely being helpful.
âOh but Kat! Charlie was born in hell, how can she know how to help people? Sheâs not from the human world so, she wouldnât exactly know how to help these people!â I would tell you to look at the world building for the series and itâs spin off but thatâs a whole other can of beans that I donât wanna cover today and this is already getting to long, so yâknow what? Weâll go with that.
If Charlie didnât know how to help people and was trying to figure out what she can do to help sinners get better, then why didnât she just ask her employees for suggestions? Yâknow, the other sinners who were from the human world and had experiences while they were alive and such?
Yeah, I get that not all of their advice would be exactly good or healthy (since theyâre sinners whoâve done many bad things after all) BUT ITS AT LEAST SOMETHING FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!
She literally does nothing, she just expects you to immediately get better after some improvisations or whatever other activities she does and once youâve done one nice thing then boom youâre close to redemption.
> Conclusion.
Charlie Morningstar is (like I said in the beginning) probably one of the worst characters in the hazbin hotel series, she at best a stereotype of the âeverything is sunshines and rainbowsâ character tropes and at worst is a pathetic excuse of a main character and is nothing but a rotten shell of her character from the pilot.
I would go on about how her designâs also bad but Iâm sure millions of people have already said the same issues and Iâve already posted my redesign of her before the show dropped.
I might plan on posting a rewrite of her or maybe explain my problems with another character or episode but I donât know.
But until then, Iâll see yâall later!

I really love your changeling dev au đ¤â¨ď¸, i was thinking does this make dev the youngest in fairy world ? then that means there is a fairy who accidently had a baby but beacuse of da rules, it cause them to give it to dale as a gift? Im sorry don't know how the gifting works đ
Okay, first off. Apologies for the late reply. Writing the fic on top of work and other plans took a lot out of me.
On to the actual question! To be honest, I hadn't actually thought too much about Dev's origins regarding who his actual fairy parent(s) would be. So let's brainstorm now, shall we? I'll be putting this under read more, because it got kind of long :')
Full disclosure, I never watched the entirety of the original FOP, especially after Poof/Peri was born, so I don't have a full grasp on the canon lore. I know before Peri, fairy babies were against the rules for thousands and thousands of years, but I guess I kind of assumed that after the dam was broken, they just kind of let fairies have babies whenever they wanted again--especially considering there's a "fairy shortage" in the later episodes (that's my understanding, at least, from what I've read. Again, I've never watched the later episodes, especially not the really later ones with Chloe). Even if this wasn't necessarily canon, I consider it canon in my head, especially since I like seeing people's OCs who are younger fairies born after Peri! Just gives more possibility for world building, I guess.
Regardless of the above, however, I think I'm leaning towards going more the route of Dev being an especially unique case. As I mentioned in my previous posts, Dev was given to Dale as a sort of compensation for Dale's lost childhood, where a fairy could have intervened and helped him escape Vicky's wrath, but he was just somehow overlooked. As I mentioned as well, I see this as a sort of cover-up that would have been handled very high-up in the fairy hierarchy, possibly by the Fairy Counsel themselves. Not only is giving a human a Changeling Baby an outdated and frowned upon practice that they want to limit the number of fairies knowing about, but I also think they'd just want to hide the fact that they so largely failed Dale (and the other children who worked with him) to begin with. They can't let the populous know that their all-powerful and all-knowing leaders screwed up like that, so instead they'd rather just pay off those affected in secret, and pretend like it never happened.
(Does this imply that there might be more changeling kiddos out there that were given to the other kids who suffered under Vicky alongside Dale? Maybe. I'm probably not going to ever expand upon that myself, but if that piques anyone's interest, feel free to build on it yourself!)
Based on this line of thought, I don't see this as a scenario where Dev was born first and then they decided to give him to Dale afterwards. I think Dev would have been created specifically for Dale. We've seen that fairies can reproduce like humans do through birth, obviously, but since they are magical creatures, who's to say there aren't other methods of creating more of their kind?
A fairy's human form appearance isn't completely detached from their natural form appearance (based on my own headcanons which are based on those created by @bunnieswithknives, who originated the 'natural form' concept I'm using in this au, for context), so in this case, in order to create a child that the world and probably even Dale would truly believe is his own flesh and blood, they'd have to create a fairy who would have traits that resemble Dale's. Maybe it was even a process of using magic combined with something of Dale's, like a lock of hair or something like that, to create a fairy child that to some extent really is related to Dale, although less in a "biological child" sort of way and more in a "slightly-modified-by-magic clone" sort of way.
I guess that's all just a really long-winded way to say: I don't think Dev has fairy parents! He's just a product of magic, and the closest thing he'll ever really have to a technical parent would, in fact, be Dale. I hope that's not a disappointing answer, haha.
#fop#fopanw#fop a new wish#fop dev#fop dale#dev dimmadome#dale dimmadome#gifted au#fairly oddparents#failry oddparents a new wish#a new wish#asks#Always open to consider ideas if anyone has their own thoughts!

I Swear I Thought of This Months Ago: Different Doctors in Midnight
The thing with Midnight is that shit goes wrong because it's a companion-lite episode. The two people the Midnight Entity singled out to possess where the two people traveling alone. They were easy to isolate from the group. If the Doctor's not traveling alone here, and there's this human who came in with him just going along with whatever he's doing, it's going to seem less suspicious. So, what would happen to any Doctor in Midnight is based more on their companions than the Doctor. Donna took the day off of adventuring to enjoy the spa. Not all companions would do that. First Doctor: He may get on everyone's nerves, but he's going to have a granddaughter with him and people will judge him less harshly because he has a family. You've got a couple with their teenage son there. They see an old grandpa with a granddaughter the same age as their son, they're going to see him as someone like them. As for the granddaughters, Susan wouldn't want to leave her grandfather and Vicki canonically is more interested in adventures than relaxation. I'm less sure about Dodo, because nobody is sure about Dodo. She's a wild card.
Second Doctor: A group of people in a small space menaced by a monster? Might as well be a base under siege. He's in his element here. He also tends to be better at understanding human nature than most Doctors, so even if he was alone, he might not end up quite so isolated. And he wouldn't be alone. Out of a combination of loyalty and discomfort with spa environments, Jamie would definitely be with him.
Third Doctor: Following the Doctor around on his adventures is literally what Jo was hired to do. She'll be the one telling everyone that the Doctor is an expert on basically everything and she trusts him so they should too. If they try to throw him out she'll try to either take his place or go with him and nobody will want to hurt her. Nobody wants to hurt Jo. Even the Master didn't want to hurt Jo.
Fourth Doctor: When Four shows up somewhere, being weird, acting like he owns the place, and having way too much fun in a crisis, people tend to sort of roll with it. It's a superpower he has. But, if we want to turn the superpower off, we've sort of got three eras to consider. Sarah Jane would probably follow the Doctor, since she's still a holdover from Three's "companions are literally the Doctor's assistants" era. Leela would not understand the appeal of a spa and would threaten people into listening to the Doctor. As for Romana...Okay, we've got another Time Lord. I actually don't know. She'll probably go with him and might have slightly more luck with the locals.
Fifth Doctor: Really depends on the TARDIS team. Tegan's going to take the goddamn spa day and will talk Nyssa into going with her if she's around. If it's just Nyssa, she'll go with the Doctor and everyone loves Nyssa, so everything will be fine. Turlough is going to enjoy a pleasant day off. He can relax, do a bit of sketching, and not have to deal with yet another traumatic incident. Adric would not understand the idea of a spa, call it stupid, get into a fight with Tegan, and if he wasn't going with the Doctor before this, the Doctor would insist purely to separate the two and restore order. Adric has no social skills, so he wouldn't exactly make the Doctor look better, but like with One and his various granddaughter companions, the family on the train would be more comfortable with a family man.
Sixth Doctor: The classic Doctors have done well so far but Six is probably fucked. Peri would probably like a day off from him and the violent shit that happens around him. Mel might try to get him to stay at the spa for health purposes. I don't know the EU well, but Evelyn might have a chance of coming along and getting him to behave, but no promises for anyone else.
Seventh Doctor: Of course Ace is there. Yet another Doctor passes as a family man and it's easy.
Eighth Doctor: I don't know the EU well and Eight is the Whoops All EU Doctor, but he seems to pick up companions that would follow him around here, being all human and convincing the humans not to bully him. But, considering Eight's luck, they'd probably try to throw him out of the train anyway and he'd end up traumatized again.
Ninth Doctor: Might actually consider just spending the day at the spa, but if he gets bored and goes on an adventure, Rose probably gonna follow him. The day is saved with the Power of Love or something.
Eleventh Doctor: Amy wants to go with the Doctor despite Rory's protests. There's a lot of bickering but they get out fine.
Twelfth Doctor: Clara is his carer who cares so he doesn't have to, so preventing Midnight incidents is sort of what she's there for. For Bill, this would be an educational experience. Twelve gets on everybody's nerves a bit, and he gives a speech about how stupid everyone's being, which doesn't actually help, and he'll probably end up getting punched in the face, but not thrown out of the train.
Thirteenth Doctor: She tells her companions to just enjoy themselves and wanders off alone. If they insist on following her, and Yaz probably would, we're fine. If she successfully ditches her companions, she's in trouble. She'll openly admit to being socially awkward, but I'm not sure if that would actually help in this situation.
Fourteenth Doctor: He's retired. He's probably staying with Donna. If not, everything mainly goes the same as it does with Ten, but it feels more cruel.
Fifteenth Doctor: Ruby would go with him and he's actually pretty good with people anyway. I'm guessing the Fourteen remembered being Ten and regenerated into someone unlikely to be thrown out of a train on a death planet just in case.

Its so cool to have lumax as your main ship <3 what other st ships do u ship?
i do love them very much đ in my responses i have also linked to asks i've received on my other page about st ships and my (lengthy) answers!
canon st ships I enjoy other than lumax:
mileven
C'MON THEY'RE CUTE. don't crucify me over this, but I have always loved mileven as a ship. i want to make it clear that if byler becomes canon, i will support the narrative direction of the writers. but i do love mileven very much and i enjoy their arc. i think the evolution of mike loving el as she grows into her own independence is lovely.
rovickie
we haven't gotten to see them much yet, but i am absolutely chuffed at the prospect of more rovickie in s5. i have always wanted robin to finally kiss a girl and i'm so excited to see this become a reality. i think the biggest challenge for the duffers is going to be developing vickie as a separate character from robin. it will likely be tempting to make vickie a carbon copy of robin and she deserves better than that.
jancy
i think jonathan and nancy balance each other out very well. nancy is this tenacious, compassionate, bright flame that fights for what's right. jonathan is so much more mild-mannered and quiet but supportive and intelligent. i also love that they're best friends first.
jopper
i know not everyone likes hopper. i had a friend who hates him. but i think they're a good match because they're both tough and gritty, but vulnerable at the same time. also i think it's really positive that they're both divorcees, both had a rough time in life, and are finding love later in life. i think in popular media we're used to seeing romance with young and attractive people. not that they aren't attractive, but they aren't young or perfect. idk i just find their whole thing refreshing.
non-canon st ships i enjoy:
elmax
i don't think anything fruity will happen with elmax canonically since lumax seems to be the logical direction. but i ADORE their enemies-to-friends journey. they're so sweet together. max was really one of the first people to encourage el's independence and autonomy. max, who herself is less approachable, embraced el from day one and loved her wholly since. and it's clear by the end of s3 that el loves max too. i think s5 will see el and max reuniting and just hugging so hard.
ronance
since rovickie is in the chamber, i'm not sure ronance will happen canonically either. but i love the idea. before vickie came along, i kind of had my own little headcanon that if robin were to sacrifice herself for nancy, she would give her a single, meaningful kiss on the lips before doing so. i don't want robin to die or sacrifice her self, but in case it does happen, that's how i would want it to go.
thanks for the ask, message me again anytime! â¤ď¸

Who is Red Robin?
Basically anyone who wants to be honestly.
So, something for writers who have more skill than I possess, which means basically anyone with the ability to spell and even that is debatable, this is just a thought. It could be angsty if that's your preference though I see it more as a part of a possible crack fic.
I would like to suggest that Tim Drake is not particularly attached to the mantle of Red Robin. He'll use it since it's better than nothing (and certainly better than Drake) and because he's really, really, really not particularly disposed to the sort of introspection or self analyzation necessary to create an identity he actually cares about the way Batman named himself for fear or Nightwing because of I forget and don't particularly care except Superman was involved since it's supposed to be from some Kryptonian myth or Robin because of Mary Grayson and Robin Hood and connection to family or the Red Hood for REVENGE. Most of the Bats can all be just a tiny bit touchy at who gets to use their identity. Generally they do not share well at all. Exceptions can be made for extreme circumstances, like civilian identities at risk, but generally to use someone else's mask is to risk their ire.
This is not necessarily true for Tim when he is not Robin. Even when he was Robin, had things been communicated about clearly and calmly with maybe an alternative mask available, he likely would have been fine to share or even give up the Robin role. Sadly, clear communication is absolutely not something any of the Bats really excel in performing.
Anyway, the point is, Tim only cares about the name of his not Robin identity in order to maintain the whole secret identity thing. If someone else wants to use that particular name/costume when he isn't using it? As long as they aren't (further) ruining his reputation, he doesn't care and may actively encourage them to do so.
Cass has absolutely used the Red Robin identity no matter what canon may claim and I do believe that Tim has acted as Black Bat for her in return. The only reason is isn't acknowledged as canon is because both of them are too stealthy to be caught switching their costumes and no one has noticed.
As a bit of a joke, Kon has also used the Red Robin identity. So has Cassie, the cowl version because she didn't want to deal with a wig and did want to maintain some continuity. Bart liked the wings but dislikes the having to stuff his hair under control and so has only worn the costume once and not in battle. In a bit of an emergency situation, Cissie has also donned the Red Robin mantle. The may have been a strange turn of events where Klarion the Witch Boy tried out the identity.
Tim enjoys how much it can make Vicki Vale and other similar types of reporters froth at the mouth at Red Robin being so blatantly active while Tim Drake Wayne is right there at the head of a crowd. The only time Red Robin is ever actually caught in the act of being Red Robin is when someone who is not Tim, or Cass, is using the Red Robin mask.

Hey! How are you doing? I hope you're doing well!
I have a few thoughts on my mind about Timmy, man I miss him so much! I know we have the original series to watch but still. (So sorry that itâs long one!)
I would imagine that Timmy would turn out to be a great man with a good job, a lovely husband and father to his family.
I think maybe his job would be a lawyer, writer or a job that helps children with problems of their own like social worker or something.
About his wife...
I'm not quite sure about Trixie because I have mix feelings about her. She seems to not care about Timmy at all. I know they're still kids and we have no idea what happened as they grow up after the original series (not counting Season 9 and 10 as I heard both don't exist anymore in FOP New Wish.) | don't know if I really like her or she's right for Timmy.
Maybe Tootie would get over her obsession at least I hope so. I know she went through so much thanks to her older sister, which I'm disappointed in their parents for not doing anything due to many reasons, they may have been good people but not good parents.
Anyway, due to Timmy's future daughter from Channel Chasers, they looked similar so it's most likely that it has to be Tootie. If that's really her then I would hope she grow up and more mature, she will not be afraid of her sister, Vicky!
Kind of hope Vicky won't find out that that she has niece and nephew if they never told herâŚ
Tootie or Timmy meeting a new lovely woman that is rightfully for him that cares and love him very much. I don't mind having Tootie, I would love to see her, all I hope she no longer afraid of her sister!
I'm not sure how it works with twins from Channel Chasers' ending like how it does make sense. I find it hard to tell because that ending takes place in 20 years later but FOP New Series takes place into 20 years later as well. Cosmo and Wanda were seen with twins but in the canon they're Hazel's. Poof/ Peri wasn't planned/added until Season 6 of the original. Channel Chasers episode came from Season 4. Twins can't be 10 years old because it seems like Timmy had them at 20 years old. It wouldn't make sense.
It would make more sense if the twins, Tammy and Tommy were younger than Hazel and Dev like 5 years old or younger, but I'm not sure if they will become canon to FOP New Wish. It would be interesting if they do. I don't know about the names Tommy and Tammy. If they become canon and are 5-6 years old, it would be interesting to see their personalities being opposite, like one twin is more calm and chill during other one is more cheerful and funny. That one of them or both are into the mystery and adventures.
I kind of hope that they will have their clothes different designs and not look exactly same as 10 years old Timmy and 10 years old Tootie.
Or maybe they would be toddlers.
About Timmy's parentsâŚ
Do you think Timmy stay in contact with them? I wouldn't be surprised if he no longer wants to do with them due to reasons and that they don't know anything about Timmy's children. It's not like Timmy wants to keep them secret, his parents can be, well... them.
I wouldnât be surprised if his parents have not changed much.
Timmy and his family would no longer live in Dimmsdale City because of well.... We saw how they are... yikes, poor Timmy.
Do you think Timmy still friends with AJ and Chester? I'm not sure if they're still friends or something. I mean AJ has the business of his own and is such busy. Still can't believe he became fairy hunting- (Big YIKES for Fairy World!)
We have no clue about Chester but hopefully we will see him. :'D
I'm not sure if we will see ALL characters to return, cause that's too much and some only appear a few times, some appeared once. Timmyâs grandparents, Crockerâs mother and some probably are dead.
I'm not quite sure about Chimson Chin and Dark Laser because they were wishes along with Imaginary Grey, right? I got feeling that probably they all got erased along with the rest of Timmy's wishes and are no longer exists because Timmy is no longer a Godchild as we saw in Timmyâs secret Wish, how when a Godchild lost their fairy/ies, their wishes has vanished.
But seriously, poor Chimson Chin, Dark Laser and his dear little dog. :(
I know Peri and Irep are still around but I believe probably Fairy Council has a way with them, well with Peri, that they're different from the rest of wishes. Probably thereâs a reason why Peri has his own special wand.
I would like to see Periâs reaction when he sees Crocker, I mean he saw Vicky and thought she wasnât real! :âD
Anyway, I can tell itâs going to be hard seeing Timmy with no memories of his fairy family and magic. I know we have to deal with it. We can do it! We just have to see what theyâre planning with him. I would like to see Jorgen, how he deals with seeing Timmy to go with the final goodbye, after everything he had done for Fairy World. How many times he had saved them from the dangerous situations especially with Darkness.
(I loved that Wishology episodes-)
Iâm bet it was very difficult for Wanda, Cosmo and Peri to say goodbye to Timmy. It was really hard for Peri to understand whatâs going on cause he was 7 years old.
Hopefully Hazel doesnât have to deal with some huge challenge adventures herself like how Timmy did, not counting the final season of FOP because it was kind of easy and she had a lot of helps from her brother, friends and her wishes.
I donât know if you know but there was a theory that Timmy still remember them due to his memory not getting wiped away by Jorgen was because of Love. The Love is more powerful than magic that canât be done. Kind of interesting but also I would think that if his memories really wiped, maybe his memories didnât got wiped away, they just blocked out and are blurry, then returned years later. If his memories got wiped away then his feelings of love cannot be gone, still there, deep inside. He probably went to have some therapy. I saw one theory that his favorite colors are green, pink and purple that made him feel special and happy, which is interesting.
Memories or not, I think Timmy would feel uncomfortable and unsure about AJâs business like AJ telling him some stories which doesnât make sense. Timmy would say something like:
âBut AJ, what if thereâs good ones?.. I mean if theyâre real.â
Or something like that. He probably wouldnât be wondering why Crocker was at Galax Institute as he wouldnât want to know why as we know why how crazy Crocker isâŚ
It would be cool if Timmy and his family became the next neighbors of Wellsâ and Cosmo and Wandaâs.
My apologies if anything that doesnât make sense-
SORRY IT TOOK ME A BIT TO RESPOND TO UR ASK!! Anyway GIRL UR IDEAS?? 10/10!! ok so there's so much to cover so very sorry if I don' get to it all! I love the idea that Timmy is skeptical of AJ and his whole business, AJ did start it when he was 10, so Timmy would have his fairys DURING the creation of this company. He must have been lowkey terrified LOL. Ive seen the theory that Timmys memory couldn't be fully erased due to love, and tbh I really want that to be true. Out of all theories, Its one of my favorite ones! Hazel is def gonna have a lot of an easier time compared to Timmy, as Timmy kinda delt with all the universe-ending stuff of his time. Hazel has a lot more support, especially as more people know about her fairys in the finale and she dosnet have to worry about hiding them all the time! DONT GET ME STARTED ON JORGEN AND TIMMY.. IN MY MIND TIMMY HOLDS A SPECIAL PLACE IN JORGENS HEART AND NO ONE CAN EVER ERASE THAT... LIKE HE IS A STICKLER FOR THE RULES AND HE WILL ABIDE TO THEM BUT HE ALSO SEES THAT STUPID ASS PINK HAT AND SMILES SOMETIMES sorry if I didn't go over everything u said!! Ive had this in the drafts for a while but I love ur thoughts :3 also I hope he went no contact with his shit ass parents :D

What do you have against Ronance? It's clear Robin was attracted to Nancy as well as Vickie. Not only that, she jumped off a boat into monster-water for her, for goodness' sake. It's a bad-faith argument to say that people don't ship Vickie with Robin because she's a bisexual sapphic woman. Greatwise/Will and Gareth is not comparable in the slightest as that is a crack ship that never interacted. We DID have scenes with Robin and Vickie, though few.
And I'm gonna be So For Real, more people would ship Rovickie if Ronance was not there. People would devour those crumbs. But why choose crumbs, when you have a potential meal we spent a whole season with?
Okay, so this is really long, I'm sorry this took way too much time. I know I went a bit overboard. If there are any errors, please ignore lmao. Thank you for sending me an ask for a discussion. I also want to preface that I don't hate Nancy as a character, I don't like how she is written in certain situations and that the show overlooks mistakes she makes, and by pointing out those mistakes on her behalf is not me hating on her. Overall, I think she deserves better than what she is given both in the show and fandom.
First things first, Robin didn't jump into the water for Nancy. It was a delayed response after seeing her best friend being dragged under water. She's not as brave as Nancy. If we would apply the same logic, then Eddie would have jumped for Robin because he's in love with her. So no Robin jumped for Steve and should have been the first to do so, but because that scene was used for Stancy later (Eddie giving the speech to Steve in the woods) it had to be Nancy in that instance. It's really bothering me that this scene is so misread because people just don't get Robin's character. Who would you jump for, your best friend you know better than yourself or the girl you met a day ago?
The whole premise of Ronance (platonic or romantic) in s4 was so ooc for Robin, s3 Robin would have never acted the way like s4 Robin did. And I think that has something to do with what I said in the other post. We don't have enough time. There is no conflict when different groups of people come together because the show needs everyone to get along to save the world, and they couldn't elaborate on complex feelings a person might have towards others. So the show made Robin throw herself at Nancy's feet, despite thinking not too highly about her a season prior. Same with Steddie, the OG script was about how Steve and Eddie didn't get along first but it was cut out because there is no time to proper develop new relationships, even tho it would be more interesting. But again, that would mean the show would have to give us more episodes, which is unfortunately not the case.
So you see, I just don't think Robin would have acted the way she did around Nancy based on the character traits she displayed in s3. Furthermore, I will bring up Steve, which is a sensitive topic when it comes to Ronance. I don't want to come off as someone who in general makes a lesbian/sapphic relationship about a man's feelings, however because Steve has history with both girls I can't ignore him because Robin wouldn't either.
A little bit of background of Robin prior to meeting Nancy:
In s3, Robin couldn't stand Steve, and later, we found out why. It had mostly to do with her crush, Tammy Thompson, who had only eyes for him. Yeah, he was obnoxious, and Robin couldn't stand his smugness and arrogance, but the main reason was Tammy and her being kinda jealous of Steve in general because he had no problems fitting in. So she held on to this grudge against Steve for maybe even years. That tells us she doesn't forget when someone has wronged her and maybe, to an extent, her friends. Like she seems to be a person who has your back, no matter what.
Idk if you consider Rebel Robin as canon (I mean Maya narrated the podcast soo I mostly view it that way) but before Barb was Nancy's bff, she was close with Robin and later ditched her for Nancy. That in itself would leave a bad taste in Robin's mouth, and I guess she wouldn't be Nancy's biggest fan. Maybe that's why the priss comment in s3. Again, she had no problem disliking Steve because her crush liked him, but then she does an 180 with Nancy despite Barb being her actual friend leaving her for Nancy. Losing a friend to another person is much worse than a crush you never talked to, not liking you back or liking someone else.
But even if you ignore the Barb stuff and don't think it's canon, Robin still wouldn't be Nancy's biggest fan in the beginning and that has something to do with how Stancy ended and Jancy begun. You have to keep in mind Steve is Robin's bff, one if not the most important person in her life. He's everything to her she trusts him completely. He was maybe even the first person to know she was gay. Then why on earth would Robin A try to befriend Nancy, who broke his heart, and B trying to push her without a thought to get together with him again. It doesn't make any sense to me, based on how Robin was introduced.
Steve may have not any hard feelings for Nancy, maybe he only said positive things about her to Robin because he still views himself as the only person who fucked up in that relationship and not that Nancy was already in love with Jonathan for a while before things ended. Idk where you stand on the whole cheating thing, but it doesn't matter because rumors outside of the relationship would spread. Steve, the most popular guy in school, who is well liked, got left by his girlfriend of 1 year for the school freak, not even 2 days after a public fight. Like people would go crazy and Robin would have heard those rumors as well. You have to admit getting together with a new guy, not even after 48h is, I don't want to say weird, but not very cool, okay? Plus, Tommy would spread extra nasty shit because he hates Nancy and Jonathan and wants to hurt Steve as well. Robin would view her through those rumors, plus Steve having a hard time letting go, being heartbroken about it, there is no doubt in my mind that she wouldn't side eye Nancy.
Those two reasons, Barb and how Stancy ended, are the main ones as to why I think Robin was ooc for desperately wanting to befriend Nancy.
So the way I would have built up Ronance would be Robin being aloof towards her, and Nancy would have been the one who wanted to befriend her in the first place. Nancy never has to work for her relationships with others. People usually make the first move with her, so she never has to give much thought to it. Like Steve still loves her, Jonathan was ready to follow her wherever even if it endangered his family, and Fred followed her around like a lost puppy as well. And with Robin, it could have gone differently. Nancy should have made it her mission to make it up to Robin. Like she desperately wants a friend, she doesn't understand why Robin is being cold to her. By making her the instigator, Nancy would have to reflect on her mistakes and how she treated people, which would finally give her some personal character growth. Plus, it would have made the introduction to Stancy (romantic or platonic) way smoother and more balanced because Nancy never reflected on it. Steve's just available she doesn't have to make it up to him as well. Nancy never really addresses her faults in relationships, and the narrative in Stranger Things lets her off the hook every time. Letting Steve believe he was a terrible boyfriend despite liking Jonathan instead of him? No problem, no consequences. Steve still likes her. In s3 the show was again on her side when she fought with Jonathan by giving her the Karen pep talk, yes she apologized to him but she didn't understand his struggles really because she gave him the don't ever doubt me comment which kinda destroyed her apology imo. Furthermore, as soon as there was a rough patch in s4 with Jonathan, she expected him to come to her instead of going to him and fixing it because she has the financial means to do so, which indicates she still doesn't fully understand Jonathan's financial problems. Also, in general, Jonathan is terrified to tell her the truth, so he gets high to cope. It doesn't seem that he thinks Nancy is understanding.
Again, Robin could have been the person that would have made her realize wait, the way I take people for granted, and sometimes treat is wrong. Instead, we got yet another person instantly liking her and going along with everything she does, so Nancy never had to do anything for it, despite the obvious conflicts that should have arisen when they first met. But like I said before, the show doesn't have much time and focuses more on the plot, so there is no real development for characters, and everyone has to get along. I also think Stranger Things wanted a strong girl duo like Elmax, so they just threw Ronance together without conflict because they wanted to avoid drama, which would take up too much screentime. I can't emphasize the fact that Stranger Things suffers so much because it has too much plot and not enough time. Plus, I believe making Robin angry at Nancy on Steve's behalf would mean acknowledging that Stancy ended in a bad way or that Jancy maybe didn't have this cute start as a romance, but that would also mean recognizing Steve might have not been the only one who was wrong which is simply not possible. When s2 aired and people pointed out hey did Nancy cheat on Steve, did they really break up because a lot of people didn't view the fight in the ally as a break, especially because Nancy mentions she likes Steve at Murray's and Steve went to her house, the Duffers had to confirm it via interviews because I doubt they thought people would sympathize with Steve. Hence, why the narrative only blames him because they wanted the audience root for Jancy.
Long story short, I would have switched roles for platonic Ronance in the show. When it comes to romantic Ronance, that's mostly on the fandom. Everyone is allowed to ship whatever, I personally just don't think they are a good match. I don't see Nancy being patient enough with Robin's neurodivergent ways. She wouldn't handle her rambling over time very well. Nancy gets quickly irrated and snaps. Like Robin already felt the need to explain herself to her, making sure everything is okay because Nancy made her feel like her personality is too much and has faults, like her mom constantly tells her. Whereas with Vickie, she felt immediately at ease when they talked. More of that later. Robin is also poor, maybe a bit better off than Jonathan, but still, Nancy already doesn't get Jonathan's problems. Another reason is that because Steve is Robin's bff, Robin wouldn't want to date her all together. Like she sees Steve still likes her, she knows how much Nancy hurt him to a point that he is serial dating because he has like trust issues, that would immediately turn her off. Robin values Steve's friendship way too much than try to jeopardize it in any way. It's not like Steve wouldn't allow her to date Nancy, I think he would do everything to make Robin happy even if it costs his own happiness. Robin knows Steve. She would know that he would be hurt, and that's ultimately the factor that turns her off. Maya already confirmed that Robin values platonic relationships so much, so yeah. Just think about it that way. How would Robin feel if Steve suddenly would show interest in Vickie and starts dating her? That would be kinda fucked, same goes for Ronance, Robin knows Steve still likes her. I'm also a believer that you shouldn't necessarily date your bffs ex, it's just too messy especially if that relationship ended rather badly.
@findafight had this amazing post about one-sided Ronance, where they described exactly what I'm trying to convey. Nancy is the one interested, but ultimately, Robin declines because of her relationship to Steve. They also have several other posts about Ronance if you want to check it out. Another blog that discusses Ronance and has similar opinions is @thestobingirlie
What I dislike the most is that in Ronance, mostly Robin is only an ounce of her typical character. Her relationship with Steve is downplayed. She makes fun of him with Nancy, she lies to him about her relationship, even asks for sex advice in some fics which is just very weird and so ooc for her to do. Same goes for Steddie, as soon as either Steve or Robin go into a relationship both characters are so ooc, you almost don't recognize them, plus they only have time for their partners and their friendship gets sidelined, which again doesn't make sense for their characters. Ronance is also mostly beneficial to Nancy as it's viewed more how Robin can save her so she doesn't have to end up with a man. Hence, all the posts about how Robin is the only person who gets her, which is also such a shitty thing to say because both Jonathan and Steve were trying. Like Nancy's character development hinges more on her relationship with Robin than doing some soul-searching. Because for real, all her relationships so far are kinda meh because she doesn't know how to communicate properly with her partners, Robin wouldn't magically make everything better because she's a girl. Nancy needs to be single first and discover who she is without jumping in a new relationship. She needs therapy and has to work on her people skills to be a better partner for future relationships.
Also, so many people want Nancy to have a friend, and when Robin comes along, they immediately make it romantic. Robin can still be there for Nancy and understand her as a friend. I don't think she was romantically interested in Nancy in the show. She was actively pushing for Stancy. She only ever talked about being into Vickie romantically. Robin should be allowed to make a friend who is a girl without making it into a romance just because she is a lesbian. Lesbians can have platonic girl friends, lol. Fact is that so many see Robin interacting with a girl as romantic because she is looking at her and then ignore her real crush she talks about all the time.
Now to Rovickie and Vickie. What I meant with people not giving Vickie a chance because she's a girl and interested in a sapphic relationship is a common occurrence throughout fandoms in general. Guys are usually preferred when talking about characters or shipping. Girls have it so much harder. Like with Gareth, I don't think my comparison of him and Vickie was nonsensical or dumb. The fandom had no problems coming up with interesting headcanons for him, even outside the crackship. Almost all the hellfire boys, but especially Gareth because he's the most objectively attractive one of the group, got more love from the fandom. Vickie, on the other hand, is mostly used as the villain in Ronance fics, who is in the way of the main ship. People in general call her boring or too similar to Robin, which is insane because we have one scene where she rambles because she is talking to her potential crush. Also, being similar doesn't have to mean it's bad. Like I mentioned earlier, Vickie rambling is showing Robin it's okay to do so, which makes her feel immediately relaxed because she doesn't have to explain herself to Vickie. Not to mention the biphobia that runs through fandoms. The fact that Vickie had a boyfriend, who she broke up with, was enough. People usually headcanon Nancy as a lesbian than making her bi. Steve's only a bi icon when he's shipped with guys, like him dating a girl is seen as less valued or popular. Again, everyone can headcanon characters sexuality how they like, you do you it's just apparent that characters who are seen as bi are only celebrated for dating a person of the same sex.
Lastly, think about it if Vickie was a guy who was the love interest for Steve, there would be non-stop content for her. She would be well loved within the fandom. But Vickie is a girl, and if she were used as the love interest for Steve instead of Robin, she would also face the same scrutiny the already faces now. She's the villain in the way of ships because she's only a side character and not the full meal like you described. A male characters even with almost no screentime, will always get better treatment than female characters.

Operation Birthday Takeover Review/Analysis
I wanted to include this in the review bomb but decided against it because the episode would take too much yap compared to the others to summarize properly, let's go!
(sorry if these screenshots have the player on them I couldn't find a better way bare with me this is better than the easier route i'd have taken)
HAHAHAHAHAHA SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT HERE!
First of all, PERI! YOU'RE BACK BABY HBUIEBRBFEIBFWiuB
Second of all and most important, this was a MAJOR Dev episode. Well, obviously, since it's his birthday, but we got to see more of him being nice while it lasted anyways, and we also got to see more of Dale's neglect and it's affects on Dev.
You can see he's clearly disappointed about his dad paying no attention to Dev at all, preferring to work on "Project H" instead of his own son. Will throw hands on this man fr.
Throughout the episode we see more hints of this disappointment, like when Vicky gets invited to the party (Dev doesn't even like princesses! DUDE!)
Now that I'm really rewatching as I go, Hazel seems to be very aware of it and very empathetic towards Dev, I like that about her. She's looking out for her friend! Good on her!
On the other hand (to move the plot forward and thus this review), I love seeing the fairy family back in action again!
I love their dynamic even more! Also I swear to God half of the iconic lines come from these interactions I swear to God.
"Time to see what's so secret about this room!....... On second thought never mind" SOBBING LAUGHING
Having the three of them slowly find out that project H is actually Project Hazel is so wild. THEY LITERALLY WROTE DOWN IMPORTANT INFO ON THE BOARD LIKE THE FAIRIES THING. COSMO! WANDA! WHYYYYYYYYY
The sad part of the matter is, Dale was fixated on Dev's friend of all people simply because she was... content? With fairy godparents? It's so sad actually for Dev... he REALLY needs someone to care about him
I wanna get into Vicky though now, and the surprising amounts of references to the OG series that were made in less than 2 minutes apart from each other? Crazy!
First of all, she's back! An interesting character to return for sure, considering she mostly acted as Timmy's babysitter in the OG series, but the continuity of this show never ceases to surprise me!
She's somehow similar looking? Like, correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't she be older now? Significant enough to be changed visually for sure. AJ was 10 in the original series and now he's like 30 something. By that logic shouldn't Vicky be closer to her 40s? Does that age a person significantly from 16? That's what I thought anyways... She's still into the "conning little children for money" thing. She's literally 30+ at least, did she not try to up her game somehow? IMHO she totally could have extreme power like that over adults if she got gullible enough ones, could've been worse, but I guess people of Vicky's personality don't truly change unless there's a major life breakthrough that happens. You know what they say about peaking in high school...
Icky Vicky the song (and thus the episode it was in) is canon to the FOP A New Wish universe. I could swear the song sounded slightly different than it did when it was sung in this episode, but I'll blame that on the song coming out 10+ years ago and voice actors being too specific to nail down (I think the guy from one direction played the Icky Vicky singer? No wonder they couldn't invite him back). The song being referred to as "old" got me cringing a bit. I didn't grow up with the show but I get the feeling people who did felt themselves aging in real time with Jasmine's comment...
TIMMY MENTION! TIMMY HAS BEEN MENTIONED BY NAME IN THE A NEW WISH UNIVERSE AGAIN!
Poor fairy trio though, they're all traumatized by Vicky, even Peri (who thought she was some weird ass dream, dawg I wish đ) and immediately they're cowering with fear at the sound of her name. They got PTSD or something from all those years in original FOP...
What's funnier is them being able to stand up to Vicky by just. transforming into humans, which works bc that's always worked in FOP canon (when parental figures showed up in the OG), but somehow Wanda and Cosmo didn't fucking know that? Truly, Wanda, it would've been nice for y'all to know that some decades ago.
"That's Vicky for ya! Making Kids Miserable Since 2001!"
Actually it would be 1998 if we count the Oh Yeah Cartoon Pilot and subsequent episodes, but I guess we're only counting actual FOP as canon đ
-
I wanna really talk about the last scene though, where Dev finds out that Project H was Project Hazel. It REALLY tears him up inside to see just HOW bad his father doesn't give a shit about him.
LOOK. LOOK AT THAT FACE AND TELL ME THAT ISN'T DEVASTATION! Even as he's recounting all the times that his father talked about Project H
The emotional neglect really runs deep with this one.
He lashes out at both Peri and Hazel (her especially since he's under the impression that she faked being his friend or something) and even wishes for Peri to leave him alone. So basically he's closing himself off from the 2 people who cared about him the most, likely as an emotional response. And then he goes and crosses off everything on the board in anger and leaves.
I've noticed Peri's behaviour towards Dev has changed a bit again since the Dimmsonian episode. I think in that episode initially he seemed more tired, and he's probably still tired, but if he is, it's not shown as much here. I think personally Peri seeing more of Dev's life might've changed his attitude towards the child, but he still remains semi optimistic. He cares about this kid. It's shown even in just those few seconds of hesitation before he leaves that Peri was kind of heartbroken/sad at the request to leave Dev's side, but was willing to do so since he asked/wished. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I really do enjoy their dynamic and really wish to see more of it, especially after this.
This is all 100% driven from his dad's actions affecting his emotional state, and I think this is actually a perfect setup for the episode where Dev and Irep take over Fairy World. Especially if Irep finds Dev like not even seconds after this scene, he's more vulnerable now than he's been throughout the whole series thus far, so a manipulator like Irep (if he is a good one, but heck even if he was dogshit at it) could defo make him change his thoughts on things.
Overall this episode was great and there's lots to love about it!
#posts#fop a new wish#my reviews#I might make more focused posts later because I go on autistic tangents abt details and I feel like I lose the thread of stuff#with longer eps like these that is#have this for now#I guess this is why I'm more hesitant to post reviews bc I tend to go off in 5 directions lol

Do you have any headcanons about the ages of the crew? We know that Kid is 21-23 yrs old and Killer is 25-27 yrs old, but what about everyone else?
I headcanon that Quincy is somewhere around late twenties or early thirties maybe, Hip and Hop are twins who look like they're mid twenties or so.
I have no clue for Dive, she looks like a child but it could be some kind of genetic thing where she just looks younger than she really is (coming from someone who's 30 but keeps getting mistaken for an 18-20 yr old)
I think most of the crew is 23-30 fairly easily.
Short of Dive, who I think very much so is a child - Oda has a few consistencies in his art style, and there's currently a very sharp line between child/teen/adult.
20-40 has a lot more wiggle room, but aside from House, there's no one on the crew that gives me "OLD" vibes. So there might be a couple people hitting that 31-33 mark, but for the most part the Kid Pirates are full of people who haven't found any other place to be.
After a certain age, most people turn jaded and bitter and wouldn't be keen on pledging loyalty to anyone.
But I also head canon that Kid pulled his crew together when he was still a kid. I can see Kid as some 15 year old "monster" tearing his way through the gangs and pulling them together before getting his vengeance for Vickie.
There's mention about Kid landing on every scrap of land he comes across, and I feel like he's spent a lot of time at sea, literally visiting every nook and cranny of the South Blue before hitting the Grand Line - and I bet he went up and down Paradise a time or two before Luffy showed up and raised hell at the auction house.
At 23, I think a good bit of his crew has been with him at least 8 years. Dive could've been born on the ship (or found is a treasure chest LOL ).
that's my two cents, fwiw. I see House as the oldest, probably pushing 50. I head canon her as the doctor of the crew, and her greatest strength is just sheer experience. If she could get a month under Dr. Kureha she'd easily be on par with Chopper and Hongo. But I just think she spent her life on that scrap island doing her best to keep the kids alive and that's why Kid asked her to leave with him (and why I think saving his home island is something he wants to do. It's a shit place, but that doesn't mean the people there deserve it staying that way.)

i always have the worst couples as my comfort ships, what the hell.
the brain rotting levels these DORKS gave me is worse than the time i was obssesed with gopher. (topher bus/gandhi)
i got a doc on my notes app with 40 ideas on fanart for them. (this includes editing, drawings, maybe comics? not sure, these might become eventually fanfics in case i cant draw it right.)
(in case you are a ch mootie and is curious, i had one doc for gopher too, but i registered way fewer. theres around 12 ideas </3)
NO OTHER PAIRING I LIKED MADE ME GET THIS MUCH IDEAS IN SUCH A FEW TIME, im honestly impressed with myself and with how there is such few fan content of them if there is so much potential đ
i dont rlly blame the fandom for such, their relantioship is mostly played as a joke in the show than a real thing to develop their characters and dynamic, which is fine, not everything needs to be treated seriously, specially if we're talking about a side character and his love interest that is one of the main antagonists in a exagggerated comedy. also, sometimes they have pretty toxic moments, like, vicky literally beats him up and mark attempted to kidnap her and also knew exacly where she lived, thats disturbing! and yet, it makes total sense for them to be toxic, given how awful they both are. i mean, were. because mark actually improves in the later seasons and even becomes friends with timmy, and tbh?? that brings even more potential to them, like, i think their relantioship could either help them improve or make eachother worse. (the latter i refer more to vicky, though, i can see she getting actual character development if she was more grounded, like in the oh yeah cartoons shorts/season 0.)
anyway, i conclude they could've been cute in a weird way, they could be more than what there was in the show.
actually, i hope these freaks die for infesting my thoughts and for making me take a interest in vicky as a character. i always hated her so much until now đ but thanks for reading.
ALSO, they need a ship name. HOW COME YALL ARE A CANON COUPLE IN A SHOW THAT IS MORE THAN 20 YEARS OLD AND NEVER GOT ONE?
i thought in calling them "emerald morning star"
⢠morning stars are medieval weapons that vicky carries with her a lot of times through the show, while mark finds somewhat of ammusement in violence due to his planet's culture. im pretty sure too that in the earlier seasons it was mentioned that he enjoys torturing prisoners, so it definetely fits both of them. đ (THESE FREAKS ARE DESPICABLE AND SICK (IN THE EARLIER SEASONS), THATS WHY I LIKE THEM SO MUCH. I FUCK WITH CHARACTERS THAT CLEARLY ARE MADE FOR EACHOTHER OR DESERVE THEIR PARTNER.)
â˘"morning star" theres "star" in the name, and mark's from outer space erm... also his and, i guess, yuggopotamia's symbol is a UPA styled star.
â˘morning star is one of the devil's names, which aligns with vicky's evilness.
â˘"emerald" cuz the signature color of both of them is a shade of green and i love this little detail about them. they really are made for eachother.
not sure about this name, i want to hear more ideas, but i cant think of something that represents them better.
#mimir's ramblings#THEY ARE MY WORST COMFORT SHIP TO THIS DATE.#i have come to the conclusion that im insane (or really weird)#not tagging the fop fandom out of embarassment...#mark chang#fop vicky#mark chang/vicky#emerald morning star#?#mark/vicky nation come to me#i need strength and motivation to bring my 40 ideas of fanart to life#IM SO GLAD I FINALLY MADE THIS POST#THEY HAVE CONSUMED ME. LIKE A VIRUS.#NEEDED TO GET THIS OUT OF MY SYSTEEM

hi hello i just wanted to let you know that i just binge-read your butcher!Taylor story and holy crap. wow. i'm amazed by how relatable you've managed to make the Butcher personalitiesâmany of them, specially Firecracker, Nemean, Anchorage and Tactical, make me feel a bit like "and there, but for the grace of God, go I"âif it weren't for my heaps of sheer dumb luck (and the fact that this is isn't Earth Bet, obviously), that could have been me. it makes the entire story super interesting, and makes me kinda hope for the time Amy manages to get those letters to their destinationâi really hope they get some closure, and not just Flinch's family. This last chapterâaside from making me despair about the cliffhangerâwas really sweet: i loved the Amy interaction and I agree with Anchorage's Grandmaw that good food heals all, and helps always. I also really loved the Sophia, Taylor and mall guards interaction as wellâTaylor was right in calling those fuckers out, and idk whether or not you're white, but you get internet cookies for that. I'm also a fan of Danny and Taylor rebuilding their relationship, Danny visibly getting better, and how despite Taylor gaining a newfound confidence bc of the Butcher's memories & life experiences, she isn't magically over what the Trio did to herâthey still affect her, even if she's better equipped to dealing with them. It makes her more believable as a character. I'm also deeply curious about TâI'm hoping for an interlude from his POV eventually. He's been right there through a lot of it, and he's stuck by Taylor, and we don't really know what's up with himâthere are some hints about helicopter parents who are overly supportive, but it sure stands out how he hasn't really told them he's a cape, which makes me think they're more overbearing than supportive, but I don't know. The way in which he covers himself in metal sure feels like burrito-ing in a security blanket, times 10. My heart goes to Vicky tooâwhat she's going through sucks, hard. And I really appreciate how you've made an effort to make Brandish come across as a total bitch who has her reasonsâshe's not totally irrational, just differently rational. Really comes across how she's very obviously talking from a place of trauma and not casual cruelty. Also loving how you humanized Manpowerâmade it real clear even the "well-adjusted" capes are a lil fucked in the head (/non-pejorativeâso am i, frankly). And I *really* love your Assault. I'm kinda hoping he breaks lines and has some words w Elpis, off the recordâjust because I really like him, and as someone who also has some misgivings abt the Gov, I'd like to see what Assault is thinkingâthat bit where they referenced Assault's past as Madcap as his "misspent youth" really made me grind my teeth.
This has been enough ranting I wager but anyways, the point is: awesome story, I love it, tahnk you for writing it!!!
Holy shit, this is, by a wide margin, the longest ask or message I've ever got. Thank you so much! I'm working on the next chapter as we speak, and it's going to be a big one!
I did aim to try and make the point that the Butchers, like a lot of villains, did not just decide to turn to a life of crime for shits and giggles. Many of them were forced into it by circumstance and spiralled down to stay alive. In the right environment, they'd have thrived.
The letters too- those will play a part, showing the Butcher's human connections and emphasising that they are human themselves. Even if they are currently disembodied voices in the head of a tenage girl.
Tarquin is... honestly, thinking some things about myself, I think he's got elements of myself in him. My parents aren't so hovering, but I do get the idea of putting up a facade to hide your vulnerabilities.
Characterisation is important in fanfiction, and maintaining nuance can make or break a story. Sometimes it's fun to exaggerate a character's personality, but I wanted to stick close to canon, so it's very encouraging to hear you approve of how I've written Vicky and Brandish and Manpower and a lot of other tricky characters.
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoy Here Comes The New Boss! The next chapter's coming out sometime this week, but if you can't wait until then, you can try my spin-off Hostile Takeover for a bit of fun.

tell us the ship, explain your thoughts đ
Me trying to be vague and everyone immediately perking up like prairie dogs ready for tea alskfnkdkd. Idk I don't think it'll surprise anyone on my blog I've spoken about it in the past. Just got annoyed at it always being there for no reason and not making sense to me one too many times, I guess.
It's r0nance. I simply do not vibe with it at all. I think, if given a sterile au where there's nothing and no one connecting them and no homophobia to worry about, it might be interesting to possibly explore them being attracted to each other but realizing their personalities and goals and priorities clash too much to work out. A bright first fling into maybe-love that fizzled quickly. I've sort of done this in my post o66 sto bin au for them, but I'm probably not going to actually explore it there. (As it's already in the past even during the war for that au)
But in fics that try to be more or less canon/fix it type deal, it really doesn't make sense to me without even mentioning the hairsprayed elephant in the room. Robin and Nancy's personalities don't seem to mesh well, what with Robin's rambling tangents and Nancy's need to focus.
Robin would probably want to do something specific with her life, but she also wants to wander! Her parents are hippies and she wants to visit Paris. She wants to travel in Europe, and probably stay at sketchy hostels and backpack in the mountains, talking to locals that she doesn't have to worry about ever seeing again. Nancy is planning on immediately going to her dream school after highschool and likely pursuing a career right out the gate. She's very driven and focused, wants to go out and seize opportunities that can assist in reaching her goals, and I don't see Robin's dreamier personality traits fitting with that.
I think @thestobingirlie mentioned that while Robin and Nancy both experience the sexism and misogyny of the 80's, Nancy doesn't experience ableism as Robin does. And she doesn't try to understand where Robin is coming from, only openly appreciating her efforts after she ranted at the hospital director.
Robin rambles! We see her either ramble or give clipped answers ("I'm Robin I work with Steve!") When she's nervous or under stress or excited! We see both Nancy and Steve react to these rambles in different ways. When Robin goes off topic in the library with the conspiracy paper, or talks a bit too much about how much she talks a bit too much, Nancy's annoyed. She's initially dismissive of the national Enquirer esq newspaper Robin brings up that helps solve the case (go Robin!). Robin babbles at Steve a lot, and he never makes her feel bad about it. She rambles about rambling to Vickie and the Muppet joke and he adds little commentary as needed, letting her go, or he cuts her off with a little joke during her rabies freak out. He lets her ramble or lets her know she should stop without being actually annoyed and letting her know that by not telling her outright to stop. (She knows immediately that it's a joke, and she jokes back, although understandably nervously. I love them.)
Them being a background pairing so often is annoying, though to varying degrees. If it's just as Robin's gf mentioned I, like others, just kinda...change it to Vickie's name in my brain lol. But other times it's not and it just. Doesn't make sense why Nancy would be such close friends with Steve (her messy breakup ex!) and Robin and Eddie. That girl has big city dreams, she's getting the hell out of her tiny hometown and not looking back. Let her be free!!
I mean obviously the bit I hate about it is that Robin holds a grudge and Nancy broke Steve's heart, which I don't see as compatible, even if we take into account that it's likely Steve and Robin have no idea Nancy cheated on him, and that Steve is an unreliable narrator and blames himself for the breakup. Steve and his relationships with both Nancy and Robin are so pivotal to all three of their characters that ignoring the history there seems a disservice to the complexities of their relationships with each other.
#also really icks me when nancy clocks steve in fics like nooooo no.#thats scary for steve! and nancy gives me the vibes of someone that hears her ex is bi and be super weird about it#let us not mention robins character falling apart as soon as rnce is introduced as well. or the erasure and hate of our queen Vickie#anti ronance#findaanswers#anonasaurus#finda's rambles#tbh i hope nancy ends the series single she needs and deserves to focus on her relationship with herself and kr her family withiut romo#stranger things#stranger things meta#sorta i guess#robin buckley#nancy wheeler
