as far as stuff outside of canon goes, i think it really depends on how you want maxie characterized as a person. like, is he well-meaning and kind of stupid, or is he an ecofascist bent on hoenn expansionism? i'd start there.

Rolling up 2 ur asks to say "HBD OR/AS" but I'm roleplaying as a very well-meaning coworker who religiously observes the social rules bequeathed upon me by small town six degrees of separation so here I am poking my head over the cubicle at our office at tumblr dot gov dot edu. I don't know OR/AS but back in the olden times, the GameBoy Advance days, I played on the badminton team with Pokemon Emerald, and was best friends with Pokemon Crystal. Their oldest sibling Pokemon Yellow babysat me, so let your friend OR/AS know that (complete stranger OR/AS has never interfaced with but each sibling has a several years-long history with) I said happy birthday

this is so funny because the only reason i played oras was because i went to play emerald for the 450,000th time, and then halfway through went "hold on, didn't they remake these games?" and immediately bought a 3ds

anyway if you like emerald i highly recommend both omega ruby and alpha sapphire. i could do stupid amounts of analysis on both (and have in the past). if you like emerald you'll LOVE the delta episode. oh my god. the delta episode. where the fuck is my rabies emoji
