How do you tell when you talk about traditionally romantic things in a platonic context way too much?

Are there any ways to tell that I talk too much about platonic relationships?

Because I just got kicked out of a server for “fetishizing friendships and aromantics” and I’m wondering if maybe that could be a sign?

i do think people dunk on grimdark a little too much (and also overuse that label to the point where something is grimdark if it's tragic and you just don't like it). grimdark isn't badly written tragedy. it's a reflection of the feeling of helplessness in the face of a world that seems to get worse in the face of all attempts to change that trajectory.

cobra kai spent six seasons emphasising that there was a difference between cobra kai while johnny was in charge and cobra kai while kreese, silver or the two together were in charge, including demonstrating that johnny realised early on that kreese's mentality doesn't work (and was something he was constantly unlearning), that cobra kai needed to change and taught his students to be tough but merciful and honourable while he was running cobra kai (in s2 btw which most people like to erase) and helping people and showcasing that kreese was teaching (and treating) his students that they were soldiers in a war and other teenagers were the enemy who needed to be destroyed at all cost and it was this, not cobra kai but kreese's teachings (and his approach to "no mercy") specifically that was always going to end up getting someone killed one day and that's exactly what happened and it was what finally woke him up to what he's actually been doing, what he's been teaching and how poisonous, destructive and harmful it is and that's also what finally made him realise that johnny was right, that cobra kai needed to change because kreese's mindset, that teaching doesn't work and it never did and how badly he screwed everything up because he couldn't accept or handle what johnny wanted cobra kai to be.

What do you think Louis first thought when he saw Daniel again as a vampire? What do you think was the first thing he said to him (or Armand) about it?

Ooh I think about this a lot 😭 So I think Louis' initial reaction to seeing Daniel would literally just be deer in the headlights, poor guy is gunna be questioning his reality. But I think he had somewhat speculated that Daniel might make it to vampirism eventually.

Obviously Louis knew that he had survived his attack and he couldn't really know for sure that he'd been brought over. But I think that Louis knew Daniel was determined and was going to stop at nothing to get what he wanted, regardless as to whether or not he did actually get it. Whereas Louis' intention was to scare Daniel into leaving it all alone, I don't believe he necessarily thought it would work, deep down.

So seeing Daniel as a vampire may have come as a surprise to Louis at first, but really, is it that out of the question that he is? There have been more surprising things that have happened lmao.

As for what he said to Daniel, it was probably something along the lines of "I see you got it in the end, immortality." And he probably asked how Daniel was coping with it, what his experiences had been so far (even though it hasn't been long at all).

And then with Armand, Louis might have (somewhat jokingly) said that he never took Armand for having a fledgling, and that it's a bit of a shock. But at the same time, that he was happy for Armand - happy that he'd found someone who he was so committed to, and loved so much that he couldn't bear to let him die. To the point where he was willing to break his own vow to himself. Louis was pleased that Armand had allowed himself to do something both for him and for Daniel. It was both a selfish and a selfless act, but that's okay. They both deserve that.

I also think that Louis was just happy that Armand found someone who could be committed to him in return. Something that Louis previously hadn't been for Armand. He may have even thought about his own time with him and thought about how unfair he'd been (though given the circumstances, it was more than understandable). Louis was glad Armand was with someone who gave him what he himself never did.

“Doesn’t it bother you to see everyone put their hands on your sister like that?” Harry asked.

Before Bill could answer, Ginny had made it up to them. She eyed him for a moment. “What’s a guest doing here?”

“I carried two watermelons!” he announced, and then immediately thought that sounded incredibly lame.

She looked him up and down with another scrutinising look. Her deep brown eyes locked with his. “Then I suppose you’re dancing now.”

Harry looked at Bill alarmed, but her brother offered him no way out. He turned back to her. “I don’t dance.”

“Don’t be silly,” she chuckled. Her small hand firmly grasped his. “Everyone dances. We are dancing. Just follow my lead.” She walked backwards, pulling him onto the dance floor.

Before he knew it, she turned to him and pulled him close. Her waist was far too close to his. He was forced to follow somewhat or they’d be too close for comfort, but she seemed to trust he’d follow. She led his hand to her waist. Her midriff was showing and his hand landed on her skin. It felt hot under his touch. It did help in following along with the moves she was doing.

“We need to loosen up those hips a little,” she commented cheerily and then her hand was on his hip, guiding it gently. “Look into my eyes.”

“I can’t,” he told her. “I can’t follow if I can’t see.”

Her small hand was under his chin, tilting his head up. She stepped in closer. He could basically feel the heat radiating off her body. She moved his hand again so his arm was supporting her back.

“Don’t drop me,” she said, then she let her head drop back and her upper body circled. She met eyes with him again, smiling brightly.

He shook his head. “You can’t just put your trust in me like that.”

And then she did it again. He pulled her back in as her torso came toward him again.

“You’re a fast learner,” she commented.

His eyes widened. “It’s fuelled by fear.”

She pulled her arms around his neck. “I love seeing a man’s fear in his eyes,” she teased and then laughed. “I am joking.”

So I just wanted to take a second and give y'all a quick update about the game's chapter schedule going forward. One chapter update a month as a target is a sustainable and achievable goal for me so for the most part, that's what I'm planning on sticking with going forward.

If you've been following TCM for a while you know the game faced some delays earlier this year with some work I had brought on contractors for + the complexities of releasing on Steam. Because there was nothing in my power I could do to help speed things along, I turned my attention to writing, designing, and programming chapters to get ahead.

And now that backlog is all published! :D

So, because of this, yall can expect to get a new chapter each month instead of two. It's just a more sustainable schedule without having a backlog of chapters that are 75% complete.
