Reverse falls

okay, so the brainrot has gotten to me and i literally cannot stop thinking about reverse falls. so here's my take on it. (or at least the pines) (also, im using their actual names)

Stanley:

everything stays the same up until he's kicked out of his house

see, my thought is that along with becoming a master con-man, he also ends up joining a circus

this is the big change

he begins to look for new ways to make the circus more enticing for people, and in doing so makes a crap ton of money

in fact, he makes so much, he is welcomed back into his family

like he becomes rich

but back to the circus business, he hears about gravity falls and all of it's anomalies

he decides to set up shop there, bringing people from all over to see the weirdos and wackos of gravity falls

in gravity falls, he ends up meeting his brother again

their strained relationship doesn't get much better (and i honestly don't expect it to...)

when he meets dipper and mabel for the first time, it is like light has been let back into his life

he really cares for them, but doesn't show it

he is especially close to mabel (like in the show) (they relate to each other)

i think he would be ever so slightly scared of ford and dipper

i think he would still be a very lonely person, but caring nonetheless

he becomes obessed with power and control

when stan comes into town, ford is pissed

but he sees how stan and his circus act could benefit him

so he basically becomes a mastermind in control

the circus brings about new people to perform experiments and what not on

mabel:

unlike the show, i think the kids would have gone to gravity falls since they were kids

this change happens because stan is let back into the family and ford never got sucked into the portal

anyway, mabel and dipper become performers for stan's circus, at least during the summer

they are known as the "physic twins"

mabel seems like a happy go lucky person, like in the show, but in reality she is not

i think that she would be a deeply sad person (if that makes any sense)

see, unlike her brother, she isn't as "special" and because of this often feels worthless

this lets her bond with stan, like, a lot

but anyway, because of her "job" i don't think she would have a lot of time to make friends or have crushes

even when she does have downtime, she has to worry about her image and how people see her

after all, they are the "physic twins"

unlike dipper, i don't she would involve herself in the supernatural much

she really just wants to be a normal kid, but because of her family, she can't

dipper:

i think that reverse dipper would be ford's apperentice

see, since birth dipper (or, i guess, mason) has been a genius

like crazy smart genius

so, when his parents hear about a certain great uncle who can help nurture this intelligence, they send dipper and mabel to gravity falls asap

here, dipper meets his crazy great uncle ford and immeditally loves it

both on stage and doing research, dipper is crazy enthusiastic

he loves what he does, both research and being one half of the "physic twins"

he ends up making his own deal with bill, following in his great uncles footsteps

he spends his free time with ford, learning and gaining knowledge

on stage, he has an uncanny ability to charm people into doing what he wants

he cares for his sister, but rarely has any time for her (i think that if mabel ever tried to leave, dipper would go crazy)

he has very (one-sided) co-dependant relationships with his family (yes, this includes stan)

Me: haha I'll just make up a timeline for this crazy crossover idea.

Me, a week later: what the fuck what the fuck how did I end up with so much plot how is it still expanding oh my god stooooop.

Aaaanyways. I don't know if I'll ever got it properly written, but this monster of a plot bunny now covers several major events and I'm losing my mind...

But anyways, cliff notes version on the plot and how far it stretches:

College trio was involved in the dionesium (aka Lazarus water) research, and somehow they're actually the more ethical bunch. Which is saying a lot considering.

DP events happened but they encountered and got help from several DC magic users during it. Budding occultist Sam for the win. (no agit yet and no phantom planet either)

The GIW got somewhat reformed, thanks to the help of Team Phantom's JLD friends. However at some point they got new management. Now instead of destroying ghost, the new comers are interested in the correlation of ecto-contamination, liminality... And secretly, in the increased success rate of induced metagene activation in liminals. Yikes, they somehow got worse.

Again, the Fenton parents are somehow the ethical ones here, despite everything. They refused to work with the new branch of GIW, stuff escalated (don't they always), and now they're dead. And in ghost jail. At least Vlad is there with them for the heartwarming reunion.

So Team Phantom ended up faking their death and goes on the run while raiding GIW bases, and along the way they found a weird guy (Jason). Weird guy's mom showed up and. Well guess they're involved with assassin cult's power struggle now, at least they get to help a guy out.

More shenanigans later they ended up with some monks in the Himalayas, and- wait Danny what do you mean you know them? Oh yeah Plasmius's little stint with the Infi-map... Gotta love time travel.

Anyway, after Danny got scammed for long overdue property damage fees and Jason got a pair of cool swords, they met Talia again and she brings news! Totally no ulterior motives or anything :) (Sam called her out to her face and she just smiled)

Jason, considerably more chill in this au, is still unhappy about... Well. Everything in Gotham.

Cue the Red Hood stint but with much more control and less blood shed. Which ironically made RH more intimidating because he moves like a ghost(duh). Especially when Jason's main act of revenge is 'pranks', which reads as mild psychology warfare actually. But hey the bats did that to themselves, he did nothing wrong (besides being a drug lord).

Red Hood peaceful mode does however attracted some unwanted bird themed attention, the Owl's not the Robin's. And well, undead Talons sneaking around undead experts, what could go wrong?

Everything apparently. Because on top of the Rh stint, Jason is somehow also infiltrating the Court of Owls now. As his real identity Jason Todd-Wayne no less. But the real suprise is Danny running into his parent's old researches, and. Well, the poor talons need help, might as well join in with the infiltration.

Some more shenanigans later it ends in Jason and co. quietly turning the talons against their old masters, and oh boy did they overachieved the goal of getting a foot into Gotham's crime world. Must be Danny's Fenton luck.

Ol' Batsy is very very not happy about that development by the way. But he can die mad about it as far as Jason is concerned.

For the early punks, many of them white British blokes, their music was about declaring themselves outside the larger society. The Sex Pistols dreamed of “anarchy for the U.K.” The Clash howled for “a riot of my own.” To be punk was to give offense, to make one’s self unpalatable, to choose to stand apart.

But what is punk when your society has already made you an outsider? This is the musical question that the raucous, cheeky comedy “We Are Lady Parts,” returning Thursday for its second season on Peacock, seeks to answer.

The first season, back in 2021, introduced Lady Parts, a punk band of Muslim women in London: Saira (Sarah Kameela Impey), the caustic lead singer; Ayesha (Juliette Motamed), the fearsome drummer; and Bisma (Faith Omole), the earth-motherly bassist. Together with their manager, Momtaz (Lucie Shorthouse), a savvy Malcolm McLaren in a niqab, they recruit a reluctant lead guitarist, Amina (Anjana Vasan).

Amina is no one’s idea of a rock star, least of all her own. She is an introverted microbiologist who worships Don McLean, with a severe case of stage fright that causes her to heave her guts while performing — and not in a defiant, Iggy Pop way. (Vasan gives Amina an engaging nerd-hero energy, similar to Quinta Brunson in “Abbott Elementary.”)

Over the six-episode season, Amina finds that Lady Parts gives her a way of defining herself rather than being defined, whether by the conservative suitors who tell her “Music is haram” or by her free-spirited mother (Shobu Kapoor), who wishes Amina would wait to seek a husband.

The root conflicts of “We Are Lady Parts” are familiar rock-band woes — having no money, having no gigs, being judged by family and by hipsters. This is where making the series about Muslim women rockers accomplishes more than representational box-ticking: It makes an old story new and nuanced.

For Amina and the rest of the band, rebellion is complicated. It means being Muslim women musicians, with equal stress on both adjectives. (The name Lady Parts itself feels like an answer to the anatomical name of the Pistols.) It means owning their sexuality and spirituality, seizing the right to define what being Muslim means to them and affirming their Muslim identity, as reflected in their sly, effectively catchy songs (co-written by the show’s creator, Nida Manzoor).

“Voldemort Under My Headscarf” embraces the traditional garb as a badass statement as defiant as any ’70s punk’s safety pin. (“I’m sorry if I scare you/ I scare myself too.”) “Bashir With the Good Beard” addresses a certain kind of haughty, elusive boyfriend. (“Are my clothes too tight?/ Do I laugh too much?”)

The series has some resonance with the recently ended “Reservation Dogs,” though its sense of humor is more rowdy and brash. It, too, is a story about young people asserting their individuality while affirming their community rather than rejecting it. The first season’s climax, in fact, involves the band being mischaracterized by an article profile that labels them “Bad Girls of Islam.”

Season 2 finds Lady Parts in the flush of minor success. (The show also shows signs of having hit the big time, attracting guest stars including Malala Yousafzai.)

The band has finished a camper-van tour of England and is planning an album. Their fan base now includes not just Muslim kids, but Muslim kids’ parents, as well as middle-aged white people, whose cringey praise recalls the garden party guests from “Get Out.” Amina has mastered her stage fright and — with occasional wobbles — is embracing her confident “villain era.”

The show’s sophomore outing is as brassy as the first, but adds layers of theme and character. Early on, the band discovers it has competition in a younger Muslim band, Second Wife. (“That’s good,” Ayesha grudgingly acknowledges of the name.) Rather than set up a battle of the bands, “We Are Lady Parts” puts a twist on the “There can only be one” mentality that pits underrepresented artists against each other.

As the band progresses, and Amina grows into her romantic confidence, the season plays with the way a kind of fetishizing adoration can be as toxic as rejection, both artistically and personally. Being stared at because of your head scarf, in post-Brexit Britain, is alienating, but so is being asked to keep your head scarf on to protect your Muslim-punk brand.

Over six episodes, the season fleshes out its supporting characters, wrestling with who they are and what they want to say. Bisma, who is married and has an adolescent daughter, starts to feel typecast as the group’s maternal figure. (“I am Mommy Spice. I am Wholesome, Boring Spice.”) Ayesha is dating a woman but is reluctant to come out to her parents, which makes her worry that she’s letting down her gay fans. Saira, the most old-school-punk of the group, itches to branch out from “funny Muslim songs” and write more pointedly political material, but that risks hurting the band commercially.

It’s hard not to see this last story as a meta-comment, intentional or not, on what the series itself can get away with saying, on a major media platform, with these characters. There is reference, for instance, to Saira wanting to speak out on how Muslims are being persecuted around the world, but less reference to any specific conflict, be it in Gaza or elsewhere.

One striking scene makes this sense of invisible boundaries literal, as Saira struggles to put her politics into song form. She runs through a verse: “It’s like death and the maiden / Dancing with my corporation / I won’t mention the w—” The what? The world? The war? We never hear. Her mouth is pixelated as she tries to finish the line, over and over; she strains and screams but the word won’t come out. Whether “Lady Parts” chooses not to complete her lyric or can’t, the image of asphyxiating silence is potent. (The episode closes with a song by the Palestinian singer Rasha Nahas.)

Of course, getting silenced by the industry is another perennial tale of rock ’n’ roll, among other vocations. As in Season 1’s getting-the-band-together arc, the challenges of making it are superficially familiar from other music stories: What is selling out? How do you distinguish growth from compromise? Can you make it big without abandoning any of your mates?

But the execution and the details are captivatingly specific. What works about “We Are Lady Parts” is what works about great punk. You can still fashion something new out of the same old three chords. You just need a distinctive voice.

OK SO LET'S TALK MY JAYA SON OC, enteeeer... Jamie! Full name, Jaemin. He is the older child of Jay and Nya, and he inherited Nya's water element. He has a younger sister, Rosie, who is the master of lightning, but more about her later. Right now I wanna talk a bit about Jamie!

Firstly, the name Jamie, was actually a placeholder name, but I'm probably never going to change it. I thought naming him Jamie was cheesy, but it grew on me so here we are, he is Jamie now!

So Jamie, he is the new master of water, he unlocked his true potential shortly before a new team was starting to form. Unlike our other main character, Liann, Jamie was more or less involved with the monastery due to his uncle, Kai, still having his element and being involved with Sora, Arin and Wyldfyre, who currently are the care takers of the monastery. So Jamie is another character who is trained by his parents, and he was used to the terms of ninja.

Jamie also becomes the co-leader of the new team alongside Liann. Before and during their first mission, Liann's more socially awkward and introverted nature, which is something she shares with Jamie, causes Jamie to think she is not very fond of him. But later they talk it out, and solve their issues with the power of ✨️communication✨️, which also in the story shows how they were raised and how they learned to solve problems from their families. I love Jaya and Geode so much, they are exellent parents.

Ok sorry, not drifting from the topic. Jamie gets his "always thinks of the worst outcome" habit from Jay, but he mixes it with Nya's "ok but calm down, let's think about a way out" so he is the smart/brain leader. He always considers every outcome, and in the beginning this makes him be scared of acting fast, because he feels the need to calculate every situation, but he manages to overcome this and starts using his ability to see the next few steps perfectly in his leaderships.

He is also the oldest of the team, same age with Liann, younger by a few months.

He is a very skilled ice skater! This is also a callback to Jay's skating skills! I love when characters carry traits from their family, this is also something I used with Liann, which I'll again, talk more in detail later!

He did unlock his true potential before the events of the first mission arc, but not really. What I mean is, Jamie fully overcame his fears of doing the wrong move during the mission, and finally unlocked his real true potential, using everything his powers offer for the first time ever. He learns that sometimes doing the non-perfect move is better than doing nothing, and he can't always be aware of everything. He can fix what he breaks later, one step at a time.

He is more like Nya in terms of being introverted and less of a yapper, though he has his moments of yapping too. His sister Rosie is a bigger yapper but lacks the passion Jamie has. She is just naturally sweet and friendly. While Jamie has Jay's hyperfixations mixed with Nya's usually calmer and more quiet nature, Rosie has the outgoing and talkative attitude, but her thing isn't the more brain/technical stuff like Jamie.

Despite people trying to put Jamie against his co-leader, Jamie is confident in himself. Which again, something he learned from his parents, mostly from Jay's experiences of feeling insecure. He knows how strong he is, and despite Liann lookinh like the more poster ninja, Jamie knows he is irreplacable and essential to the team.

You see, Liann is a more emotional decision maker. She has to act, she has to help, she can't stop to think about her steps. She needs Jamie to ground her, needs him to stay calm. But at the same time, Jamie needs Liann's fast thinking in combat and ability to be brave in scary situations to start acting himself. They balance each other, which is why they are not a "we need them both in but let's make one more interesting and overshadow the other" ridiculousy, but a great match to lead, both having something the other is not very strong in or even lack.

Oh I was almost finishing this ✨️ted talk✨️ without mentioning his looks! He has the light brown hair from Jay, maybe even a little lighter than his because ✨️LIBBER'S GENES ENTER✨️ and mixes Jay's brown hair with her blonde. He has a mole on the side of his nose, and has a slightly tan skin, mixing Jay and Nya's skin colors. He is not that tall, let's say he is avarage. Liann, in comparison, is slightly taller than him. He also has a few iconic moles around his body too. Mostly the ones on his arms and a few small ones on his neck are the ones you easily notice. Though I doubt this works in a Lego format... ANYWAY!

I never got up to seasons 4 and 5, but having heard about Chloe punishing Andre for ot having a license to run his business I am just imagining like...

A crack comedy fic where thanks to her fathers regime having been so corrupt and negligent. & Chloe actually finding she does quite well operating in a system with clearly laid out rules and social behaviors as opposed to having to intuit everything based on "niceness", she actually ends u being really competent.

Especially cos she basically back-doored her way in, she's not worried about keeping donors or anything. Gabriel, Tsurugi and her parents are all arrested for various financial crimes before they even know what's up. Lila maybe becomes her personal secretary or speech writer and is just like, "Well this might as well happen."

Carline gets her job back, and Chloe starts casually throwing money usually used for kick backs and personal projects to fund various necessary programs, or just "Get off my back and I will give you money for that bonzai park!" programs.

That or just having someone trying to actually do the job is still a massive step up from Andre. Like, Chloe's not a master politician or financer but at least things are actually... Happening! Paper work that hasn't moved in years is being done and frankly that's enough for more Parisians.

If I had a nickel for every proposed AU today that involved '14 year old perfectionist trying to live up to shitty parent's expectations and realizes said parent is not only shitty as a parent but shitty at their actual damn job of running this place and she decides to just cut out the middle man and fix this shit' I would have two nickels.

THE LIMINAL SPACE SERIES

summary: a series of 5 continuous books and 1 spinoff tale centered around this universe’s concept of liminal spaces. what they all have in common is they center on death, Reapers, Witches, magic, possession, and horror, but above all liminal spaces.

Liminal Spaces are defined as the place a person is in during a transitional period. this can be emotionally, physically, metaphysically or all of the above. in this series liminal spaces are more akin to separate planes of existence where death and horror reign supreme and magic is in the air. nothing is impossible and your worst nightmares usually come true.

summary: the sun is stolen, drenching the upper in darkness and spelling certain doomsday for the world as its known it if it’s not returned. nevaeh is sent down to the treacherous under to find the god responsible for the sun’s disappearance and return it as soon as possible. to do that, they’ll need to find the last god eater. and they only have 13 weeks.

VAMPIRES DON’T TAKE ROAD TRIPS

summary: 20 year old darren de leon is content with just living his life as is, with his father dave, step-sister (kinda) olice, and not including his father’s girlfriend veronica as much as possible. that is, until someone he never thought he would meet shows up at their doorstep—his absentee mother, lizette rouzet blanc who… incidentally is a vampire. someone is out to hunt darren down and so they have to leave town to get to safety… leading to the most awkward and life changing road trip he’s ever been on.

summary: calvin im and jake deluna have been best friends since they were 5 years old. they’ve been with each other through thick and thin, all throughout high school… at least until two things happen on the eve of their high school graduation: jake tries and fails to commit suicide, and calvin’s long term girlfriend breaks up with him without warning shortly after that. both spiraling, but trying to put the pieces together two years removed from these events, they must slowly learn to heal, to love, and to remember what best friends are for in the first place.

summary: nyoka is destined to die. a foreigner in this land that worships gods unfamiliar to them, nyoka was taken in by the council of elders when their parents passed away from a strange illness many years ago. this grace came with a caveat; that when their time came, they would be thrown into the mountain as a sacrifice to the gods. nyoka has no intention of dying for a cause they have no stake in—however when they’re suddenly bumped up the chopping block and are next in line to die, they need to think fast. the only way to get out of this? well, if they’re no longer a virgin. and perhaps, the mysterious spice merchant verin is the key to defying this fate.

Scout: he dreams about being back home. having become one of the best baseball players to exist and staying home and making his Ma proud. he has a job she can brag about, he gets to see her more often, even his brothers treat him with a little more respect for doing better in life than they did. it would make him feel sad that isn't his life, but as soon as he heads to breakfast and sees his teammates all loud and laughing, he knows it's just a nice fantasy and he wouldn't trade this life for anything

Soldier: his dreams focus on him being a war hero out on the battlefield. single-handedly saving his teammates from everything coming their way. all of them praising him as they exit the field for saving them all. the higher-ups even send him a special medal for him to wear with pride. he always wakes up feeling extra ready to get out there and get to work

Pyro: their dreams are very much like Pyroland. colorful, happy, always bustling and overstimulating. but that's how they like their world. it's childish and fun and it's the best part of their day if they're honest. they can hang out with their teammates, or go on wacky adventures that tend to continue somewhat from dream to dream even, or even just pick a spot and sit and chill the whole time they're there. they've mastered lucid dreaming and love having control and doing whatever they please

Demoman: he dreams of traveling. of getting out in the world and going from place to place. learning about the local legends and maybe spending time hunting them all down while he's there. he would want to put a book together about all he's learned. no stress about how many jobs he has, how hard he's working. it's just him and the world and he can live it however he pleases

Heavy: he dreams about retirement. this war ending and he can return home to his Mama and sisters and spend the rest of his days surrounded by them. cooking meals, sharing stories, knowing they're all safe. no more living in fear, or him having to be away from home for so long. it's just him and his family and he writes letters to his teammates

Engineer: he often dreams of farm life. in his dreams he always has his hand back, which leads him to believe he dreams of scenarios in which he/his family didn't get caught up with Mann Co. and all their nonsense. usually he's just enjoying the calm morning air and watching out over the fields, sometimes he's in the middle of chores. they're always peaceful, and yet they sometimes make him wonder if he made the right career choice

Medic: he rarely dreams at all, good or bad. it probably has something to do with his experiments. his dreams are often about having never gotten involved with mercenary work, become a regular doctor, have his own hospital that's world renowned and he's successful. but deep down he knows he'd be unfulfilled in that life. they're very nice dreams, he'll admit. he likes the moment of calm they bring to the otherwise hectic job he works

Sniper: after his parents passed away, a lot of his dreams became bittersweet. he'd dream about them again, about going home and seeing them alive and well. he wakes up and feels the need to go call them before he looks at the phone and remembers there's no one there to answer. it hurts but in a way it makes him think that maybe - just maybe - they're still thinking about him too somewhere out there

Spy: it rare he ever has a good dream. but when he does, it's usually about what his life could have been if he'd chosen to stay with Ma and raise Scout and her other boys. they're bittersweet as well, and often leave him laying in bed and thinking of all the regrets he has for not following through with it all. but instead of dwelling for too long, he goes to find ways to get stuck having to run errands with him, even if Scout annoys him the entire time

So writing has been going well. I'm a little ways into chapter 3 right now, I plan to start posting it when I finish chapter 5 or 6. I'm hoping that will give me enough of a buffer to keep up with a schedule and hopefully post a chapter once a week, or at least every other week. I'll be able to do more writing during the holidays when my workload lessens but it's still a few weeks till then. My current timescales are that the first chapter will be out before the holidays start but we'll have to see.

The Dreyar-Strauss Family

Not long after Levy and Gajeel had their first child the media was alight with baby fever and speculation about who would be the next to settle down. As a public favourite, Fairytail was caught in the cross-hairs of many a tabloid. They often reported on scandals and took any form of affection between it's members as confirmation that the two involved were dating. Mira and Laxus were often forced together at every turn, both by their own guildmates and by the media circus that constantly surrounded them. It came to a point when the two felt obligated to date just to keep everyone happy.

Eventually one thing lead to another and they ended up marrying believing that it was just the next logical step. Unfortunately life caught up to the pair and after having children of their own they finally came to the decision that they weren't happy together and were damaging their friendship by trying to force things. While every celebrity news outlet reported that things were far more dramatic than they were. They parted quietly and amicably, deciding to co-parent their daughters together and remain friends.

Mary Dreyar

If you asked her sister, Mary was the oldest and the golden child, even if she was only 4 minutes older. In reality Mary is quiet, studious, and strives to live up to her parents legacies. Mary takes great pride in being able to trace her families roots to the founding of the guild. However underneath the surface Mary is deeply insecure that she doesn't measure up to everyone's expectations. As a result she continually pushes herself to achieve seeing it as a personal failure whenever someone expresses disappointment in her. Even her own friends put her on a pedestal and she struggles to tell them when something is wrong, worrying that they'll no longer see her as the strong and capable leader she should be. One of Mary's biggest failures is her inability to master transformation magic, a sore point between her and her mother. Instead she has become extremely skilled at using illusion magic and lightning magic. While Mary and Rita are identical twins, the two have entirely different styles, making telling them apart very easy.

Rita Strauss

The moment Rita was able to change her name she did. Hoping that taking her mothers maiden name would upset her father. Rita has admitted to many people that the only reason she hasn't left the guild yet is because she wants to force her mother to expel her by causing as many problems as possible. Something Mira just doesn't have the heart to do. In recent years Rita has somewhat curbed her misplaced aggression after finding her own team and discovering companionship with both Luna Dragneel and Lillian Redfox. Rita's frustrations stem from the constant pressure's placed on her and her sister from a very early age. Mary rose to it and suffered in silence, whereas Rita fought back, loudly and publicly. Due to this Rita has come to see her sister as the golden child, not seeing the constant struggles she's faced. Since cooling off somewhat Rita has blended into the background sticking with her own team and friends and leaving her sister to do her own thing. While Rita can use transformation magic, she doesn't as a point of pride and prefers to use her own magic that she taught herself, crystalline magic.

Anyway, the Scourge Timeline: - Age 1: Establishment of the "Great Peace" thanks to the efforts of Jules Hedgehog Senior and Doctor Ivo Kintobor (the latter has genuinely good intentions, the former... doesn't). Junior is handed off to the maids so his parents can ignore him and yell at each other. - Age 6: Junior begins going by "Sonic," becoming more involved with his Uncle Charlie's terror gang as an errand boy. - Age 8: Junior delivers a very important package to Jules. RIP the architect of the "Great Peace." - Age 11: End of the "Great Peace." As the warfare the Kingdom was accustomed to resumes, Uncle Charlie is assassinated by agents of King Maximillian. Junior officially forms his "Freedom Fighters," including the king's own daughter, to see through Charlie's vision of pure lawlessness. - Age 12: The Freedom Fighters banish King Maximillian to the Zone of Silence and throw the Kingdom of Acorn into a state of perpetual chaos. Thus begins a period of listlessness in the delinquent speedster's life until... - Age 14: ...Junior becomes fixated on the concept of the multiverse after a chance encounter with Zonic the Zone Cop, and obsessed with the concept of the "Prime Sonic." - Age 15: Junior properly meets Sonic and the obsession kicks into overdrive. Ironically, this is also around the time that he starts being pursued and attacked by Rosy the Rascal. - Age 16: Junior really can't catch a break. Gets his butt kicked repeatedly, keeps getting thrown out of his Freedom Fighters and into Zone Jail, and feeling that inferiority complex over Sonic grow. Mental stability is slipping. - Age 17: Junior powers up on the Master Emerald, becomes Scourge, and starts setting his ambitions much higher. Starts dating Fiona, conquers and renames Moebius, and attempts to invade Mobius before he's defeated by Sonic and co. Endures a traumatizing stint in Zone Jail lasting a few months before Fiona breaks him out and brings him to Moebius. Scourge and the Destructix send the Suppression Squad fleeing to an unknown zone with the world's anarchy beryl in tow, and reestablishing Scourge's "kingship." - Super Genesis Wave: Well you're back on Moebius Scourge, but guess what? Mobius Prime just disappeared and you have to relearn how to use your Warp Ring after processing that your Sonic is gone forever. - Age 18: The present of the blog. Has gotten his butt kicked a bunch more, but also appears to be learning from it, and been softened up in the course of meeting a lot of cute girls. Looks like he's slowly getting better, but still has the potential to be so much worse.

hello, nerds! it's just me, ryan (h/h, 25+), here with another shot at a fourth muse. this particular muse is newer to me, but the more he revealed about himself over the last few months, the more fond i grew of him, and i can't wait for you all to meet him today! his name is moon boyoung (20040904, h/h)! he's a student at yonsei university (my first ever muse that's attending a SKY university, i'm so proud...) and a lifelong athlete who, despite going through a lot of shit right now, is working hard in his classes, seeing musicals every chance he gets, and is remaining as optimistic as he can...

from birth, boyoung was hailed a miracle child. his mother suffered from a lot of physical health issues, and it made conception extremely difficult for her, but similarly to boyoung, the challenge of it never stopped her from trying. her dream was to be a mother, and after years of praying for a baby, she was gifted the perfect son.

boyoung is a golden child, and he wears the title like a badge of honor. his grades are exceptional, he's heavily involved in extracurricular activities (primarily various sports and the student council), and on top of that, he always made sure to come home in time for dinner, and happily did the dishes/kitchen cleanup after. his parents adored him, overall he was loved and supported, and his upbringing was pretty idyllic... until his second year of high school.

his mother's health grew worse, and added onto his busy schedule was being her caretaker. he sacrificed a social life to ensure that she got the care she needed, and to also ensure that his grades never slipped. somehow, his test scores were high enough to earn him admittance into yonsei university, the school his mother dreamed of him attending, and shortly after receiving an acceptance letter, she succumbed to her illness; confident that her son would be alright.

little did she know that, upon looking through her belongings and stumbling upon old journals, boyoung learned that his father was not the man he thought he was, and his mother had secrets of her own, too. it fractured the view he had of his life and of his parents, and he carries that baggage around with him from class-to-class. he's doing his best to keep his head up, but life's curveballs are teaching him lessons he never learned before. all he can hope is that they make him into a stronger, better person.

boyoung is someone with immense patience. this is largely what makes him so good at so many things. he's one of those people you meet who has a massively long list of learned skills, who is frustratingly good at what seems like everything, who makes himself perfect at things by pouring metric tons of energy and effort into them. he's perfectionistic, and doesn't settle for results that are less than flawless. this, however, makes him rather hard on himself.

boyoung has a strong work ethic. the first ever sport he played was basketball, and he started out as a bench-warming water/towel boy. everyone on the team enjoyed his presence, and after months and months of practice, he earned himself a rightful spot on the court, even going so far as to be co-captain in the future. he applies the same work ethic to all things in his life. school work, the arts, sports, his relationships with his loved ones, etc. it's all at 100%, no less.

the pressure to be so perfect, so golden, is crushing, though. he possesses a rather critical nature, and this is largely because he's so polished. he'll spend hours remaining up at night ruminating over fuck-ups of the past; wondering what he could've done differently. it creates anxiety within him sometimes, but he's a master at faking a smile; remaining cool and composed on the surface, even if he's battling inner turmoil.

he's someone who, if you need a favor and you ask him to do one for you, he'll take it extremely seriously and get it done in a timely manner, and the favor will be completed beautifully. he sometimes has a hard time saying no to things, but he's getting better at being practical about what he can and can't handle. regardless, you can rely on him. he likes feeling needed. it's a blessing and a curse.

despite being rather rock solid and even-tempered, he's a big softie. he'll totally cry watching a sad movie or musical. he loooves musicals. loves them so much. he's essentially troy bolton—golden retriever energy jock with a passion for singing and dancing. he's not ever gotten proper instruction for the arts, but he wants it so bad. he's always been practical and wants to focus on landing a good job, but his dream is to be on stage. he's shy about it, though.

i'm still learning more about him, so i can't wait to see him grow!

Shi Wudu still dies (or alternatively, severely injured/banished), but Shi Qingxuan, after becoming mortal, either eventually ascends again in a defiance of fate (which makes some sense since Xie Lian, who doesn't always like notions of fate now rules the Heavenly Realm) or dies prematurely and lingers as a ghost

In that same aspect, He Xuan doesn't really just disappear after getting revenge (asides from a few implications of him). During the course of his deception, he genuinely did grow attached to Shi Qingxuan. Either he or Shi Qingxuan seek each other out and have a complicated relationship although they end up together romanticaly (eventually). They either are able to meet again more easily due to Shi Qingxuan becoming a god or by Shi Qingxuan becoming a ghost and connected to He Xuan that way

Feng Xin never romantically loved Jian Lan. Although it's possible that Cuocuo is still his son, he was in a relationship with her out of compulsory heterosexuality or something similar (as I headcanon him as gay). Part of Jian Lan leaving is probably out of acceptance that Feng Xin can never love her romantically/they never had what she wanted. Or, alternatively, they were in a situation where they were each other's beards. It's possible that Jian Lan deluded herself into thinking Cuocuo was her and Feng Xin's son. Feng Xin never intentionally "killed" Cuocuo (I say in quotes since he likely never fully developed into a baby) but he "died" due to a failed C section that Feng Xin had to attempt due to premature labor or something similar.

Relating Feng Xin, Feng Xin and Mu Qing somehow, eventually, end up romantically involved as well, although the way they interact with each other largely stays the same.

Jun Wu stays imprisoned for a long time, naturally, but eventually manages to dissipate or live a new life thanks to Mei Nianqing's help.

Quan Yizhen and Yin Yu do end up repairing their relationship. It takes Quan Yizhen a very long time to understand and it also takes Yin Yu time to realize and understand that Quan Yizhen has differences that make him unable to exist in the social world that most heavenly officials and the entire world navigate from (since I read Quan Yizhen as autistic and intellectually disabled). Regardless, their relationship starts over not just as a master/disciple but as equals.

Qi Rong manages to return in a physical form, seemingly have to learned very little but in actuality having grown a lot and given up many of his evil ways such as eating humans. He reunites with Guzi and takes on a true paternal role far more. Guzi has aged a few years and genuinely understands the difference between his birth dad and Qi Rong yet still views Qi Rong as his dad. Guzi does not follow in Qi Rong's evil ways but still associates with him. Qi Rong still remains haughty and tries to show off to Guzi but treats him with far more respect and like a true son. Because Lang Qianqiu had been raising Guzi in his stead, Lang Qianqiu ended up also developing a paternal bond with Guzi despite only feeling obligated to care for him at first. Lang Qianqiu is forced to put aside his revenge and hatred for Qi Rong to co-parent with him for Guzi's sake, as Guzi cares for both of them.

ok hi i caved finally -- ayaka’s yu yu hakusho verse is below the cut!

the kamisato family is known in the human world for their involvement in governmental affairs, as well as having notable shrine maidens scattered around in their family tree.

tsubaki, commonly known as kamisato kayo, was the first ice maiden to marry into the clan. her marriage to the former head of the family brought about two known children - kamisato ayato, the son, and kamisato ayaka, the daughter. much like her mother, ayaka is a pure-blooded ice maiden; the result of kayo’s natural parthenogenesis. because of this, ayaka is also able to shed prized hiruiseki jewels for her tears, and has a heightened sensitivity to the supernatural.

after the deaths of her parents, ayaka co-leads the family with her brother ayato. while ayaka isn’t fighting or dealing with the pleasures of a normal school life, she handles the clan’s internal and external affairs - all despite her brother’s encouragement for her to lead a normal life before she resumes her duties as one of the clan heads.

while she isn’t juggling her duties as a clan head, ayaka is a student within the walls of meiou academy.

in terms of combat, ayaka is a skilled swordswoman who was capable of mastering four of the nine kamisato arts - senho, soumetsu, hyouka, and kabuki. ayato, however, was able to master the other five - marobashi, kyouka, suiyuu, mine wo matoishi kiyotaki, and michiyuku hagetsu. despite the difference between the siblings, ayaka is still capable of carrying her own weight in a fight.

ayaka is a terrible healer. the best she can do is heal small bruises. 

on the topic of her tears -  it is often clear as day that she still misses her parents, and often asks herself what they’d think of her now and if they’d be proud of her. she gives herself just a few minutes to grieve and let herself cry before she has to hide any tears she sheds within a small chest in her room. 

if push comes to shove and the family falls on hard times once more, ayaka can and will sell her tear jewels to help the clan regain financial stability. it’s a shady move, but... it could very well become her only option one day.

I didn’t get a chance to vote but I and my partner attended public school (it’s actually where we met). He was homeschooled through I think 4th or 5th grade and I never was. Our daughter (2nd grade) is homeschooled because we have that option. My partner stays home and teaching and caring for her is his day job. I was a certified high school teacher for a bit and have a Masters in teaching for secondary ed, plus my mom is a certified elementary school teacher with over a decade of experience. We use our state standards to make sure our daughter is progressing the same as her peers, and she gets social time through extracurricular activities (she’s in gymnastics at a local gym) and play at our local park and events at the library, things like that. We’re also looking into joining a homeschool co-op nearby so she can have more varied education and socialization, though of course we have to be careful not to land on one that’s full of religious bullshit.

We picked homeschooling because my partner valued the homeschool part of his education so much and we had the ability to do it and the faith that we could do it well. We live in the district where I grew up and went to school and also taught for a while…and frankly I don’t want my kid to go there. I don’t like the values of the district at all…how they treat their teachers or their students.

I read some of the replies on this post and it’s funny that so many people point out that parents who homeschool to stop their kid learning about things like evolution or sex-ed. Not because that doesn’t happen - it totally does - but because part of my home with homeschooling my own kiddo is to give her a BETTER version of that education. Like I have actively done research into age-appropriate sex ed to make sure she learns about it throughout her entire childhood/adolescence rather than some one-time “talk” we have when she hits puberty like my parents did with me. It’s a good illustration, I think, of how much the quality of any education depends on the beliefs and general quality of whoever is giving the education. We also live in a pretty damn conservative area in the Deep South USA, so there is 0 chance of non-religious sex-ed (or really, harmful indoctrination) happening outside our home.

So far the biggest benefit has been that we get to pay more attention to her interests as we decide what they should cover each day. She gets to pick out her books, for example, and if she develops an interest in a specific topic we can have so much more schooling related to that. She loves reptiles, and we own snakes, so she gets to learn a lot about biology via helping my partner care for our snakes, including their mating practices, how their bodies work, etc. We also raised both monarch butterflies and Luna moths from eggs, so she got to personally experience and watch the life cycle of these creatures and learn how to handle them safely. We go to the zoo or museums nearby for learning experiences, and we’re hoping to do a more formalized “field trip” experience to places further away and invite grandparents or her friends (if we do it on a weekend). It’s just really nice to be so actively involved in her learning and that it can take the form of more than sitting at a desk each day in a way that public school teachers simply cannot do.

Anyway, all this to say that it’s working super well for us. I wouldn’t have wanted it for myself because my home situation was a lot less stable (hello divorced parents) but it’s good for us for now. She’ll probably attend public school at some point later, but we’ll likely move before then so that we can be happier with the district she attends.

Also for those convinced all homeschool kids are antisocial weirdos, my kid could make friends with a rock (indeed she has). Every single time she goes somewhere and meets other kids, she immediately makes at least one new friend. She has no problem being loud and having fun and talking to people, and she’s genuinely well-liked among her peers. I think it entirely depends on the kid in question.

I mean she’s also a big weirdo, but it’s the kind of weirdo all kids should be - joyful and unashamedly herself, unselfconscious and silly. I lost a lot of that in my teen years but have grown back into it myself as an adult, and I’m hoping very much that my daughter can have the confidence to stay weird.

YAYY Madonna time!

Sorry it took me a bit to get to this. I've been busy but here we go. Madonna lore just for you. You know the drill, this is gonna get long.

2. Is your OC a loner or a social butterfly? Are they satisfied with how they come across to other people?

Madonna is like if an extrovert and an introvert had a baby (unfunny joke but it explains sort of). Due to her past job as a pharmacist and having been part of a corporate environment, being a social butterfly was more or less a requisite, which means through the years she's built up a "social stamina" strong enough to withstand social events that last well over 3 hours. This carries over as Kindred, however, her unlife also warrants a very much welcomed sense of tranquility since she decides when she wants to be social, usually in the context of feeding from willing blood dolls she meets in clubs or with fellow vampires she has an alliance with.

I think you could categorize Madonna as an extroverted introvert, since she definitely treasures her time alone and enjoys distancing herself from socializing for the sake of her own interests.

5. Does your OC have a signature weapon and/or attack? How long did they train to master it?

As Tremere, Madonna has a vast array of Thaumaturgy skills that can aid her in battle - her favorite spell to use is Blood Theft as it is extremely convenient in situations where a lot of spells need to be cast. That said, she tends to make sure she uses as less Thaumaturgy as possible in context where the supernatural isn't involved - and thus relies on her marksmanship skills, which are fairly impressive.

She didn't know a lick of fighting before becoming kindred, so go figure - she has always been a fast learner, so it no doubt helped her in this case.

9. Is your OC laid back or do they thrive on drama? What role do they play in their group of friends/associates?

Madonna is 35 years old in body and spirit and to be fair, she is a woman with a job, even if undead, so she really does not care about drama at all. She's got other shit to do!

Even before the embrace she kept the same kind of attitude whenever it came to her associates at work and outside; people generally regarded her as the aloof cool girl that wouldn't be phased by anything... when, truthfully, Madonna just prefers minding her own business rather than gossip... Like, unless the gossip is necessary for her to complete an important task, she tends to skip it entirely.

10. Is your OC sentimental or pragmatic? Do they keep mementos or only what they need to survive? Have they always been this way or did something happen to make them change?

Before the embrace, Madonna used to be extremely pragmatic. Not entirely to the point of lacking any whatsoever sentimentality but a corporate job will do that to you - it was sucking away at any energy she could dedicate to her feelings, and it really showed in how she behaved whenever something factually exciting or mortifying happened (not necessarily to her, but something like maybe one of her co-workers having a baby, or one of them losing a family member... she used to react very matter-of-factly, not out of malice but because she didn't really have it in her to commit to her full emotions). Her job tended to come first and it was also something of a problem in her familial life, as before becoming a corporate pharmacist she used to be very family-oriented, that with having 3 siblings and elderly parents.

Becoming Kindred turned her way more sentimental. Free of the shackles of her old job, Madonna regained the range of emotions she'd closed herself away from for about the last decade or so... which makes for some fun situations where she reacts immaturely for her age, but makes complete sense when you consider that for her this is like a second adolescence!

Unfortunately, though, even though she truly desires it, she feels like she cannot go back to connect with her family as Kindred. She fears of putting their lives at risk, and especially of compromising the Masquerade since some of the changes that come with being Tremere wouldn't go unnoticed by her family; not to say that they are fairly religious people at heart, and she doesn't wish to destroy the image they have of her as a darling hard-working angel who can do no wrong. This makes her sad, but this is where her pragmatism comes in clutch and reassures her there is simply no way to go around this. Which isn't wrong... though there could be ways, if she put her mind to it!

12. Is your OC cynical or optimistic? Who or what shaped their outlook on life?

I would say she's right inbetween, with a healthy sway towards optimistic. You would think studying medicine would've made her more cynical, which it did at the time, but as a vampire she found things much less grim than she thought they were before.

In general she's always been taught by her family not to look at things with rose-tinted glasses, and it is something she stood by for most of her human life. While they didn't outright encourage her to look at things negatively, they tried to remind her to be objective when it came to most things, especially as she studied medicine. Desmond somewhat reminds her of them in that way, with her special interests revolving around algorithms, mathematics and chess; and while Madonna doesn't think this belief system is wrong, she's found now that being a little more optimistic and carefree never hurts as long as you don't slip into excessive naiveté.

15. What places hold significant meaning or memories for your OC? Do they have a positive or negative association with those places?

So I haven't gone in exact detail in my exploration of Madonna's past yet, though I know she's based in LA originally (as she was made for the VTMB setting), and I would say that besides obvious important places she's likely been with with her family, a specific place that holds significant importance to her as Kindred is probably Confession, the club, because that is where she started seeing Desmond and becoming acquainted with her. They may have differing opinions on some stuff but, well, they kind of still have somewhat of a 'whirlind' kind of romance-not-romance going on, so it's definitely a positive association... LOL

16. How does your OC make money? Do they have a respectible profession or work a series of odd jobs? Are they a criminal? Or do they get creative in the pursuit of coin?

I wouldn't say Madonna is a criminal but the legality of some of her operations as an underground pharmacist can be dubious at best. She sells black market pharmaceutical drugs and also substances that aren't for the usual... public use. She also sells concoctions she came up with for other Kindred, as a way to make use of her Thaumaturgy in a similar context to her old pharmaceutical job. So it's... kind of... shady but not straight-up illegal most of the time?

Desmond 100% helps her keep a front so she doesn't have to deal with most legalities even though her chantry likely prohibited her from interacting with Madonna too much (this is Desmond we're talking about though... she has many of her fingers in various different pies).
