“Baby I’m ready for take off”
CW: Cock Warming ,Chest Riding, Fluff(?), Poorly written smut, comfort(?) nicknames ( ma, mamas, papa, and baby)
PAIRING: Connie x Black!FemReader
WC: 0.9k
🫧🗯️: Test run post! Don’t judge🤒 ALSO! first time writing smut so if it’s bad i’m sorry, it’ll probably remain like that for a minute…(title is from a wayv song.. doesn’t have to do anything with the fic🪦🪦)
MINORS DNI
(take off!)
It's been a long day, long week even. School has been beating your ass with essays and finals..this was your only chance to relax. You enter connie's apartment around 6 pm, he wasn't there because he's also been busy but not with school. The team made it to regionals and the coach has been working the team the bone with drills everyday.
You use your key that he lent to you and make yourself at home, he lived off campus. You make your way into the shower and clean yourself up real quick and change into his pajamas, although a lot of your clothes is in his room, hell ! you even have your own drawer! But you love the way his clothes feels on you and his scent makes you feel safe. You were absolutely starving by the time you got dressed and decided to go order some food, wing-stop you finally decide you got yourself a 12 pc hot and lemon pepper with a side of fries and A sprite. When the food came around it was almost eight and Connie should be on his way home.
After you finished eating you cleaned up super quick and went to bed, connie showed up about an hour later. He knew you were here but seeing you in his sheets and pjs made his heart falter. He went in the shower quickly and joined you in bed. He tried his best not to make any noise but regardless you still woke up
"Sorry ma, didn't mean to wake you up"
    he said so gentle,
"how are you? I'm sorry I came home late.. i didn't expect coach to keep us so long"
he caressed your cheeks trying to get you back to sleep. You looked up at his beautiful freckled face, you missed him so much you guys havent been able to see each other at all this week with being so occupied with your own personal activities and affairs. Small tears stream from your eyes, he wipes them away with such care and delicacy.
"I know, I know ive missed you too, baby"
You turn towards to him and indulge into his chest , he's not wearing a shirt which is normal since he gets really sweaty at night (😭😭🪦🪦🪦) you start talking about the events that happened that week, how your essay went, how you absolutely failed your stats test, new books you bought, girl drama, and how stressful it's been for you. He nods occasionally and throws in a couple of "mhms" to let yk that he's still listening. This goes on for about an hour and at this point you're just rambling, but connie understands how much you love to talk and let's you continue without complaint, that is until you ask him about his week and what he's done.
At this point he's practically knocked out.
"Hah, What was that baby what did you say??" he said a little bit groggy
You repeat your question, but while you do you see that he's HARD??? No way this man was hard from just hearing you talk. But then he must've been backed up from this whole week because of how rarely he saw you or had anytime for himself. When you think about it has been a while since y'all had sex, because of how seldom it's been to even talk to him on the phone
"Hey con.. You're hard, how long has it been?" you ask while playing with his nipples. (🪦🪦🪦)
"Baby you don't even understand how much i've missed you..c'mere" He pulls you closer to his penis.
Slowly he removes his pants and boxers, revealing his hard leaking cock.. good lord it was so much prettier than you remember. You slowly enter his dick into your hole, surprised by how wet you were.
"Be careful mamas I could jizz into you at any point" you laughed at his choice of words, it was clear that he hasn't been relived in awhile..and while you were also tired doesn't mean you could at least help him out!!?? and you were on the pill so that should count for something..right??? Continuing you grab ahold of his tip and insert it, until fully seethed into your pussy. It felt so good, you grabbed his hand and placed it on your stomach showing him where his dick is. That really pushed him over and sprayed your pussy through and through. your poor baby he was so sensitive. You guys stayed like that until morning.
Waking up, you find yourself looking at connie sleeping so soundly and peacefully. You reach for your phone but feel restricted once you've realized the man got a whole ass dick in you. omggg
"Baby wake up" you whisper yell, tapping his chest. you roam your fingers on along his abs, a few seconds later connie shifts a little bit to remove his cock from you and lifts you up and places you down on his chest. This all happens so quick that u immediately shiver, with your wet slicky pussy on top of his chest he begins move you up and down while his dick teases at your ass crack. Your nails dig into his abdomen while you grind your silky pussy over his abs. Connie's hands take pleasure in your tits while they bounce up and down, twisting and turning you nipples putting you into over drive. Your cum glazes over his abs, you panting hard. First thing in the morning... You rest your head on his chest finding his heart beat while he rubs your head calming you down.
"I love you ma" he whispers, he feels your smile into his chest and laughs a bit. He raises your head, "did you hear what I said?" He leans in for a kiss and you return it. "I love you too papa"
(Think of this as a soft launch ijbol)🫧🗯️

unrelated to like anything this blog is about BUT in your recent post you mentioned a dick grayson fanfic. i am VERY interested in like any dc fic you couldve written ever because im in love with your writing but i can only find the one fic,, do you happen to have any thoughts/written stuff you havent posted on anything that is batman comics related ? i would be enchanted to hear you talk abt it !
Hi! Yes, I was very into the Young Justice show when it first dropped and wrote a lot for it! I never got around to crossposting it to AO3; I will, one day, I'm sure, but for now you can find a lot of Dick Grayson fic by me on my old ff.net page.
https://fanfiction.net/~midnightluck
Also, because you asked for thoughts, have an old essay:
There is no way Dick lived with Bruce and helped develop Robin without relying heavily on his circus training. Which means he used terms he knew to describe things, and Bruce would have listened and used the same words so that they could communicate better out in the field. And you know how words are, how slang and memes are; you use them a while and then they're on your tongue, thoughtless, and every family has their own little quirks.
Jason showed up, this rough little linguistics chameleon, and he just picked it up like any other language, and Tim probably knew all the Wayne family jokes before he even joined. So what Dick did unthinking, Jason did subconsciously and Tim did purposefully, and by the time it got to Damian, it was so far removed from any other frame of context he had that he probably just assumed it was code or whatever.
Long story short, you cannot convince me that any Robin does not have more than a smattering of circus slang in their vocabulary.
Which leads to a funny thought in a Marvel crossover because Hawkeye was a circus brat too; he'll get that they gotta slall the day-and-daters before they go wildcatting down the coast or whatever. Alternatively, they hear he's got a circus background or he hears them talk it or whatever and there's this moment of recognition and respect and then they try to talk and completely fucking fail because Hawkeye was in an American circus and Haley's was Romani.

first httyd rant of many!!! yahoo!!!
this is kinda just me nonsensically talking about the alphabet(s) used in httyd because theyre kind of inconsistent?? to put it simply
insert menacing dot dot dot here
googling "httyd alphabet" lowkey made me sob cuz there were so many different variations of the symbols they used, from somewhat official sources to definitely not official ones.
they all do share elements from the futhark runic alphabet used during, or around the time period viking were in their golden age. more or less; i honestly dont know too much about runes so i apologize in advance for anything im wrong about
runes used in that time period weren't very specific, they were designed to easily carve into the materials they were using and mostly relied on just sounding things out. like lets bring that back that sounds WAY easier than learning 20 different variations of spelling the same word
younger futhark(which was more popular during the viking age,) for example, only had 16 characters, in contrast to the 24 characters in the modern english alphabet. more often than not, translated runes are littered with spelling mistakes.
that doesn't mean the vikings weren't less intelligent than people today, spelling and writing just wasn't a necessity as it commonly is in current times.
but anyway, the alphabet systems used in the books, movies, and tv shows can be directly translated into modern english, long as you ignore all the stupid ass inconsistencies (this is directed at the films, not the books)
both the movies and tv shows have similarities to futhark runes, though the movies appear to be inspired by anglo saxon runes, and the tv shows do have similar characters used in elder futhark. neither can be 100% translated to any sort of alphabetical system used at the time, and i believe berk has developed their own writing system over the centuries.
in the movies (at least from what i know) the way words were spelt were influenced on how they were sounded out, while the tv shows were slightly more correct for the future day standards. so congratulations, you can most likely spell better than hiccup in the movies. the punctuation system isn't really clear, and in futhark variations words were primarily just separated by dots. though, according to that one episode in rtte that i totally remember completely watching where snotlout shat on his dads grammar, i imagine people in berk have a more complex grammar system.
on top of that, quite a lot of people in berk seem to have the ability to read and write, more than the average viking tribes of the time. id like to assume they put more emphasis on learning to read efficiently because of the dragon book. information regarding dragons was important, and so id imagine being able to to proficiently record said information was important, too. thus the berkians (and perhaps surrounding tribes, outcasts, etc) adapted to better suit their priorities
ummm yeah idk thats kinda it
i say as if i havent put more thought and time into this dopey ass fictional thing than i have with actual beneficiary stuff
tl, dr; did you seriously scroll all this way to see if there was a summary? youll be disappointed because i am the master yapper and i am unable to be quick with my words
but basically just me talking abt the differentiating runes used in httyd, and how they connect to real world languages at the time, wnd um er um yo MOTHER
ive literally had this account for a day and ive written a 10 paragraph essay on silly little symbols
ill probably be using rtte's alphabet cuz it seems relatively easy for my little pea brain

hi hi here’z a post of me rambling about some of the things in shadow.bringers, because i predicted i would be abnormal about it and i was right. 💛💛 <)
1. FIRST OF ALL. character writing. early into the game i remember reading someone say that shb improves a lot in giving you a lot of character moments. and i remember not entirely believing it because this game is usually so plot-driven that characters’ feelings are not the spotlight? and you especially don’t talk to them one-on-one in depth about emotions or anything. BUT AS IT TURNS OUT. THEY *WERE* TELLING THE TRUTH
from very early in..!! when you reunite with ali.saie and you have that talk with her on the tower overlooking the flood. VERY GOOD moment. just the two of you, her expanding on feelings that were introduced to you post-stb and prior, further establishing the relationship you have with her in a meaningful way. it sets up the fact that.!!! moments like this continue happening through the whole story forward…!!! lots of them…!!!! and it was so unanticipated on my side that when th.ancred just started talking to us about his struggles & insecurities in nuvy’s leavings i was like HUH!!!!!!??? AMND IT KEEPS HAPPENING. HELPS YOU CARE PROPERLY FOR THE CHARACTERS AND LETS YOU FEEL CLOSE WITH THEM. EMOTIONS FEEL LIKE THEY’RE GIVEN THE ATTENTION THAT THEY NEED, ITS GOOD. <3
2. tge setting. awesome. the premise is compelling all in itself. “world plagued by eternal light + essentially a zombie apocalypse with angelical beings” is a strong base especially in juxtaposition to earlier plots where the main threats are nothing like it. and the story leads you through different areas in such a smooth way, each introducing to you the effects of the flood on the people and auaug it’s got cool worldbuilding in it. <3 it’s not at all without its flaws (kholusia is super interesting in idea i’m a huge fan of “location has something deeply wrong with it but its residents are unaware” concepts, but, ya know. vau.thry’s whole deal could have been much better, hm……..!) but i’m in love with lots of it….. leadinf into:
3. emet-s.elch. making him a section is kind of funny HEKFK I THOUGHT HE WAS A GOOD VILLAIN. have not thought about him enough to super elaborate but the themes around him + amaurot are so oouuuououg. good. amaurot was such a change in atmosphere from places we’ve seen before and the ENERGY. was SO. AUGH. (its theme, the ticking clock, the the the….!!.!) having its destruction be a dungeon was also a great idea. having us go through the calamity ourselves to experience what it was like & the loss he’s been dealing with for eons. it’s cool. OH AND TALKING SPECIFIC CHARACTERS:
4. ARDBERTTTTTTTTTTT. MY FRIEND. MY BESTIE. I HAVENT MENTIONED HIM BEFORE. BUT HE’S EVERYTHING. you could argue he has one of the best narratives out of any character here ever. the scenes you share with him are so so special i understand why people like him so much. warriors of darkness my beloved your writing gives me So Much Feeling.
5. The Themes. in general. okay SO. you could really write an essay on how shb feels like it was written for suicidal people. truly. at the very beginning you are introduced to the premise of “your friends have figured out that you are destined to die. and they have spent their past years trying to stop it.” and that’s not the entire deal, you all still have a world to save, the focus is on that, but that theme is still there, in the background, and whenever it shows itself it is so potent. to me.
this game has a core of hope and survival and it’s a central point constantly. but in shb…. it feels most directed at you. the exarch tells you to survive at all costs, that it’s the one request he must impose on you. to “burn bright again, and live.” ali.saie has you promise against self-sacrifice (several times, actually!). and with the way everything is worded, it’s hard not to feel like the message is from real people, urging you to stay.
when the warrior of light is, well. consumed by the light. when emet tells you, in front of everyone, how much of a danger you will be, how you will inevitably hurt and ruin everyone around you — the only thing on their minds is curing you. not getting rid of you, even with all the world’s corruption inside of you. you wake up in a soft bed and are told of how busy everyone has been, desperately searching for any other route for you. (and, of course, that’s the obvious course of action for people who care about you, but to players who struggle to see that as at all reasonable, it means something…!!)
you see the light in the sky above you and KNOW it’s because of you that it’s there. that if you were gone the first would be free. and then you are told that there is hope, that you and everyone else will find another ending to this, and if they can’t, they will forge one. and everyone insists on being by your side even when who you are could bring about their doom at any moment. and ITS GOOD………!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all this to say: i understand why this is most players’ favorite expansion. um. game good, meant a lot to me. :’) THE END <3.
(AND TAKING A MOMENT TO PUT MY FAVORITE SHB TRACKS HERE, OK? OK <3. special shoutouts to to fire and sword (HELL YES.), sands of blood and the quick way (the night themes being so intentionally calm & elegant compared to their daytime counterparts really makes you think doesn’t it.), mortal instants (yeaahhhhhhhg. <3), who brings shadow (THE CROWD ERUPTS IN CHEER). OKAY THE END <333)

3, 4, 9, and 12 for the book asks!!
3 answered here :}
4: “Did you discover any new authors that you love this year?”
shirley jackson and toni morrison for SURE i read three stories from the former and four from the latter this year and i really am obsessed with their writing. toni morrison just has an absolutely captivating way with language and structure in general and in the haunting of hill house, the lottery and we have always lived in the castle i love how shirley jackson withholds information from her readers and builds up her stories, she’s SO good at building suspense and dropping information in such a casual yet demanding your attention way
“9: Did you get into any new genres?”
i’ve been reading lots more nonfiction this year, largely essays but books also, and am planning to read even more next year: “the whole picture: the colonial story of the art in our museums... and why we need to talk about it” by alice procter, “a small place” by jamaica kincaid “freedom is a constant struggle” by angela davis and “on palestine” by ilan pappé and noam chomsky are all standout books that i would recommend. they’re all written in a very accessible manner and the latter two are split into sections that you can navigate rather than reading linearly which i found helpful
i’ve also been reading lots of short stories this year!!! i like to read them in between novels usually and some standouts have been “description of a struggle” by kafka, “the lottery” by shirley jackson, “recitatif” by toni morrison and “the yellow wallpaper” by charlotte perkins gilman. there’s a common feeling of “wait what?!” shared by them all that i love lol
“12: Any books that disappointed you?”
… “the lovely bones” by alice sebold. i enjoyed lots of aspects of the book especially with what it had to say about grief and the processing of it, both on the side of susie’s family and friends grieving her, and on the side of susie watching them from the afterlife and grieving them. it was still a solid read and a real interesting take on a “coming of age” story from an outside perspective and was clearly written with a lot of care from a victim. but it just really lost me towards the end . those who have read it probably know what i mean and i dont know how to explain it to those who havent but 😭 it lost me. it didnt exactly ruin what the story had been up to this point, but did leave me disappointed

it’s my 22nd birthday today, and you know what that means...
Lew Writes Wrapped 2022!
its virtually all third life this time, most of which have not been posted on main before. woe, the full weight of my third life obsession be upon ye
blood god, mortal red
(Jan, 1.2k, DSMP, oneshot) (link)
one of the Many minecraft execution fics i have written in my life, technoblade anvil edition
not to start this post off with making myself sad, but man, i miss him.
i remember writing this one all in one sitting at work in january. i think i did a pretty good job with it from an artistic standpoint, and as an analytical piece, i think i hit the mark perfectly. that said, i don’t think i could reread it now. i do think it was fun as a writing exercise to force like, 5 seconds irl to stretch out into a thousand words
yes, the only way out is down
(April, 1.2k, 3L, oneshot) (link)
another minecraft execution fic, third life rendog edition!
IM SO PROUD OF THIS ONE. im so fond of it it’s probably my favorite third life oneshot. ren’s execution makes me fucking rabid and this is just the most direct expression of that.
what’s funny is i actually remember being pretty dissatisfied with this fic when i finished it--there was a lot of stuff i wanted to hit on that i just couldnt swing around to--but when i stepped away from what i wanted it to be and looked at what it was, i realized i liked it a lot
the rhythm of cold fists
(May, 2.6k, 3L, onehsot) (link)
sometimes you get so worked up about the idea scar threw the finale of third life that you have to write a bunch of frenzied words on it
this one is funny bc i think its got the second most hits of any of my third life fic, but the comment number is really low comparatively. i mostly just had fun making the transcript of this scene and then fleshing that out into a full ‘novelization,’ it was a neat writing exercise! i don’t think anything in particular stands out about this one, but i’m happy with it overall
Wooden Mausoleum
(May, 3.8k, 3L, oneshot) (link)
Sometimes you get so worked up about the idea of the unactualized betrayal plotline of the most loyal man in the series that you have to write a bunch of frenzied words about it
okay this is going to sound bad but i keep forgetting i wrote this. i dont know why. i like this fic! one of my favorite paragraphs i wrote all year is in it! and yet??? i dunno.
id love to write a different martyn wins au where the betrayal isnt the sort of ‘mercy kill’ suggested in this fic, bc i still have not recovered from the unrealized betrayal plot. someday i’ll write a martyn wins au where he Means to win
i... still feel something is sort of off with the way this fic ends, but i think ive felt that about a lot of the fic/scene endings ive written of late. i think that ending scenes/fics is just ill have to work on this upcoming year!
might be best to not look back
(Oct, 2.7k, 3L, oneshot) (link)
i’m starting to think all my oneshots are just me getting possessed by different parts of the third life. anyway i had a point to prove about scar throwing, and what might happen were he not being wildly unsubtle about throwing
i can write essays on this fic it makes me feel insane. i HAVE written an essay on it already just recently. tbh, this fic itself IS an essay written for the purpose of analyzing the penultimate third life scene. i have and could and will write more essays on the penultimate third life. this is all i have to say to avoid making this a 1k word post
i think i did what i wanted to pretty well? it was sort of confusing, by virtue of trying to talk about a point your viewpoint character won’t acknowledge, but it was a fun piece over all
missing or obstructed
(Oct-present, 6.3k, 3L, ongoing) (link)
post third life fic but only grian and ren remember, featuring so many sleep/dreaming metaphors, because i lucid dream and have insomnia and it does a lot to me as a person
missing or obstructed has 14.7k words written but i havent fuckin posted most of it bc i got derailed by lamplight. missing i am so sorry i miss you so much but youve been obstructed. i am really excited for how the rest of this goes but i think i have to finish and completely exorcize lamplight from my head before i can go back to it in earnest. i DID post another chapter at 10pm yesterday so i had more of it to include in this wordcount tho,
missing or obstructed has been a lot of fun to write bc i lvoe stupid metaphors. it has sucked to write because it’s forced me to come up with worldbuilding shit for the watchers which has been so much more difficult than i thought. it’s been fun again cuz i love worldbuilding. it’ll be super fun when i finish the current scene i’m sitting and get to introduce martyn pov. i lvoe writing Martyn pov
Lamplight AU
(Nov-present, 20k, 3L/LL, series) (link)
renchanting dnd au. i put ren in a lantern. what else do you need
wadda hell.
i cannot even begin to like--lamplight was literally supposed to be just 20 Questions and thats it, i wasn’t going to write more, but people liked it so much that i was like “sure, i’ll write a bit more” and you guys have been??? so kind. the amount of enthusiasm this fic has received thru kind tags/comments, asks and interest, and even art??? is equal parts deeply humbling and also incredibly likely to give me a god complex. this fic has been so much fun to write and my readers are the whole reason, i cant wait to show you what i have in store for the rest of it
six sentence sunday challenge
i also started a challenge back at the end of march of this year over on @driflew called Six Sentence Sunday. the rules are simple: every sunday, post six sentences you wrote that week.
i didn’t make it every week, but i made it a great deal of them. on occasion, i even posted 12 sentences the week after missing my six, meaning some weeks counted for two.
my six sentence sunday tag on that blog has 28 posts from the year! considering there’s only 52 weeks in a year, i started three months late, and a few of those weeks are actually two, i feel pretty good about the amount of weeks i made. not every week, but basically any week i didn’t have a good excuse not to complete my six sentences. it kept me writing all year, if only a little bit at a time, and i’ll be keeping up with it for sure!
to finish out,
i passed my writing amount from last year (25k) by over 10k words! my total number for this year doesnt even count the 7k or so from missing or obstructed i havent posted, plus an uncounted few hundred words of unposted snippets for lamplight. i’m really happy with everything i’ve done this year!
which… this year i wrote and posted 37,800+ words!
thank you to everyone who has supported my writing all year, as always, it means the world to me. happy birthday to me, and thank you to you for reading!
(birthday wishes and/or reblogs appreciated!)

hallo :D if you dont me asking, whats your dissertation about? im curious haha
great question that honestly right now i do not have much of an answer to (which is concerning when it's due in three weeks). the official title on my proposal is "manipulation and subjugation of the family unit and community in young adult dystopian literature" but honestly it has taken on a mind of its own.
currently im more looking at mental health - so im looking at the effect of eugenics and lack of autonomy in the giver, divergent as a neurodivergent bildungsroman and the ways it only caters to a small minority of neurodivergent readers, and trauma, particularly childhood and generational trauma, in the hunger games.
ill put some more rants under the cut
ive been working a lot on my divergent chapter today and building up the idea that it can be seen as a neurodivergent coming of age story, but tris really only contributes to the idea of neurodivergency as a "superpower" and the idea that people who are seen as "high functioning" are not in fact disabled - whereas the "low functioning" neurodivergent people in the story are the factionless and their status is so undesirable it's worse than death. it's difficult and im worried about going too far and ending up circling back to "autism bad" by accident but we shall see.
my hunger games chapter is talking a lot about the generational trauma of the games and the ways that katniss is already traumatised by the time we meet her. id also love to talk about the collective trauma of the objectification of children across the trilogy but i havent had the time to reread the other two books so that's on the back burner for now.
in terms of the giver im writing about how the application of real life can impact the way that ya readers interact with the issues in their own world - especially since the giver is aimed at a younger readership than the hunger games and divergent, it offers questions that children can start to consider at younger ages and build up to more critical thinking. i found a great (terrible) essay that claims that the giver is written as a commentary on nazism and communism and im very excited to rip that apart - because although it is clear that it takes a lot of its inspiration from 1984 and brave new world, saying that it writes on the same issues as those books takes away from the fact that eugenics and autonomy were still big issues in the 90s (and now), when the book was first written
i can rly go off about it for hours but getting it down into writing is very very difficult
but thank you for asking! i appreciate being able to go off about it

wow so i just read your Goldfinch post about cigarettes and I… wow, it's so interesting!! -- maybe the best analysis of TGF i've ever seen tbh, and so impactfully written.
I can't tell if you've done film studies, lit studies, or really delved into the history of cigarettes but please point me in the direction where I can find out more, that was a phenomenal read
thank You! i havent thought about that essay in forever, whatever mindset at the time compelled me to write analysis essays on my own was crazy, but I'm very flattered people are still getting something out of it.
Anyway, I'm very mad at my past self for not citing my sources on the post. I know I had a really good article about the history of cigarettes in the movies and advertising that depite googling around for I can't find anymore.
But I can tell you a lot of the queer film analysis came from the book 'The Homosexualization of America' by Dennis Altman which talked a lot about Freud and the ways film language adapted to queer culture. I don't remember if it discussed cigarettes in particular, or if I just took the ideas from that and applied them to the stuff I was reading about cigarettes.
Anyway, sorry I don't have a more in depth list of sources, but I hope that maybe gives you a starting point?

fortunately it was of my own volition that im taking this spanish class but on account of never having learned another language before its just a Lot to take in... such is life, its still a really fun class!
the telltale wips.. ive mostly made peace with them (i no longer think they all suck so i think thats a win) so the real issue is that i never want to start working on them again ("GRAHHH ITS SO MUCH WORK AND I AM SO TIRED!!!!" < - - - me talking about any wip ive ever started, ever)
REAL THOUGH you'll think your motivation for a work is done and gone and then one day you wake up and sit straight up like youve been possessed and the passion for a wip you havent touched in like a year returns from the grave
partially related i am so excited for monachopsis. ive been so distracted with essay-length anon asks that i forgot to restate that i am still losing my mind abt it im so EXCITED
the price that we pay to fulfill the wishes of baby us is worth it but Only Just.., i dont know how younger me would feel about my fanfiction but im sure they'd at least be confused because its not oc writing or anything like that
wips are SO much work (I am haunted by the dozens of half-finished fics in my files) (should I clean my Google drive? Signs point to no)
Sometimes old wips grab you and shake you until they're done which is Really good for efficiency (monachopsis 3 1.0 was 13k words written in a single 12h stretch! Wish I could do that on command!!!) but god imagine being able to start something and then finish it without taking fifty detours
I also did so much oc writing... I still do it I just have more FF7 to my name now

Oh fun! I havent done one of these in ages- lets go! Tagged by @blueherin
Song I last listened to: Evil Friends by Portugal the Man
Books I'm reading: I have to have five on deck at all times or else I go insane! I've decided on labeling them "fast" vs "slow" books instead of "easy" vs "challenging". Fast books are read in days to weeks, slow books in weeks to months.
Slow Nonfiction: Death by Landscape, by Elvia Wilk
Very funny story with this one: I texted my BIL absolutely raving about Jeff Vandermeer's Annihilation. He texts me back raving about a book of essays that discusses Annihilation- so we traded! I recently moved from the desert to a swamp, and it's true. The land really wants to eat you, and in different ways
Slow Memoir: Yoga by Emmanuel Carrère
Deeply important book to me now. I've never wanted to punch someone in the face more. The author is very aware of this! He manages to write a book that neither aggrandizes nor apologizes for his unlikeableness. It's a great, intentional example about what the meditative practice of observing without judgment can offer the memoirist. Separately, I would have become this man of 6 fewer things had gone wrong with me growing up. It's a pretty valuable dark mirror for that.
Fast Nonfiction: Yoga for Emotional Trauma by Mary and Rick NurrieStearns
Self-help and romance novels are my two comfort genres. You usually know in the first 30 pages if they're worth finishing, and ypu dont have to pay that much attention. If there's something worth seeing in there, it jumps out at you. This book is actually part memoir, which I liked quite a lot, and is very well-cited. It's been interesting to see a licensed clinician navigate the space of writing about spiritual methods without cribbing to claims of healing or authority. I WAS hoping for more about stretching, though, but I'm only halfway through.
Reference: Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff
You may notice a theme at this point. I started singing opera two years ago, after my voice settled from testosterone. I have some diaphragm control issues related to spinal malformations and significant chronic illness. I also solve all my problems by researching. Did you know that your diaphragm is attached to your heart??? Wild stuff. An extremely thorough reference so far. It manages to talk about yoga health concepts as "methods for improving soft tissue functions and thinking about the body as a series of cavities" alongside more western medicine as "methods for improving organ functions and thinking about the body as a series of oozes." It's nice to have both!
Fast Fiction: The Dragon's Bride by Katee Robert
I've read a lot of erotica in my time- see "Fast Nonfiction." This is the first book I've read that's shifted away from "all non-humans are weird werewolves" and straight into "this is a published scaley monsterfucking book." 8/10. Uniquely excellent pacing. A little too much world building, but they get it out of the way quickly. The sex is hot and well-written- There's too much interest in pregnancy for my tastes, but maybe that's the market.
Currently watching: TV pacing usually stresses me out, so I do more movies than series. That said, my wife and I have just started Season 2 of Mushi-Shi! It's nice to see visual media really commit to a short story anthology format
Movie Watch List: Last two films were "Todo Sobre Mi Madre", directed by Pedro Almodóvar and "Fantastic Mr. Fox", directed by Wes Anderson. Up next is "The Death of Stalin"- my husband thinks it will help cheer me up about my workplace drama
Tagging: @auxphonos and @nyxkaikaos if either of you want!

Okay, Im pretty sure Ive reached the point at which I originally stopped watching so. yay
To celebrate this occasion I thought I should talk a little about some of the complaints Ive seen about the finale in my for you tab because yeah, I just cant resist looking at it so Ive been spoiled pretty severely and also been dealt a good amount of psychic damage. But hey, its about the journey, not the destination and Im already in Advanced Therapy for my mental illnesses anyway
The two most complaints Ive seen are, it wasnt cathartic and it sends a terrible message. Now, I cant comment on the catharsis bc I havent watched it yet and also Im not even sure if that would be a deal breaker for me. Like, anti-climaxes can be very powerful, Schlatts death is one of my favorite moments in the entire dsmp düfor that exact reason. But that all depends on the execution so I'll save my more detailed thoughts for after Ive actually watched it
The complaint that I wanted to talk about in more detail now is the one about it 'sending a terrible message'
I spend a lot of time watching and analyzing kids shows specifically on the basis of "is this a good show for kids?" Like, kids will watch anything you put in front of them bc they dont know any better so I think its important to put something in front of them that encourages creativity, critical thinking and sends messages of compassion good and other things I cant think of off the top of my head. When analyzing kids shows like this its very important to keep that target demographic in mind because what kids like and need is often different from what teens and adults would consider well-written and thats fine. Theres plenty of kids media that can be enjoyed by teens and adults as well, but its perfectly fine for kids media to only cater to kids and even be actively boring for older demographics.
Keeping the fact that kids media should be analyzed differently than more mature media because its written differently, I dont think it controversial of me to say that, unlike kids media, media for teens and adults doesnt need to teach anything. The way I see it, kids media has messages while adult media has themes. Obviously theres a bit more nuance to this, but Im not trying to write an essay here, Im trying to complain about fandom shit
And I know this might be a hard pill to swallow for some people bc this is the internet where 7 year olds and 17 year olds are basically the same because theyre both "minors" with absolutely no nuance, but teenagers arent children and theyre not so impressionable that seeing a character in a minecraft roleplay be sympathetic towards their abuser is gonna suddenly make them forgive their own abusers if they didnt want to do that before or make them blind or to IRL abuser or whatever man, I dont even really know what exactly the concern is. Like, idk how to tell you this but the line between fiction and reality is not that thin and if the media someone consumes affects them that much theyre either very young or there are some underlining issues that storytellers are not obligated to account for.
Not to mention that dsmp is a story told from a bunch of different perspectives by a bunch of unreliable narrators who are all varying levels of shitty. Like, in kids shows the protagonists and the non-anatgonist supporting characters are role models and vehicles to teach messages, that doesnt fucking apply here, theyve literally made jokes about everyone being an unreliable narrator i dont know why anyone would think this is the kind of series where theyre actively trying to impart some kind of lesson, its literally Fucked Up Shit Happens feat, Fucked Up People: The Minecraft Roleplay
To end this weird long rant, Id like to say that I do understand why people would be upset with the ending (from the details I was able to gleam anyway) and as much as I think complaining about the 'bad message' is invalid and frankly kindof weird, being upset is still totally fine and valid.
Also, if you'd like to discuss this with me I'd appreciate it if you didnt spoil me any further. Like yeah, I already know the broad strokes but I'd still like to have a semi-'organic' experience watching this yknow
Anyway, have a nice day

If smut is well-written and justified I'm totally into it (unless... I'm not for other reasons), but especially in ETL stories, you have to be careful. Seonghwa and Y/N were already on thin ice, sex would complicate things even more, obviously you could've used it as a plot device, but ultimately I'm glad you didn't.
It makes sense, they're from different worlds for sure, but they're not Romeo & Juliet, so I think they can do it, haha. Also, the opposites certainly attract in their case, after all Hongjoong felt too safe for Y/N and their chemistry just wasn't really there, I'm glad they remained friends though!
I would like to see more of their shenanigans back in university. Is Seonghwa gonna sit next to her? Is she gonna like it? 👀
I've never read any of your stories except Blacklist and I rarely read for other members than Seonghwa - I used to read for San at first - but I'm curious to see more of your writing, which story of yours is your favourite?
Oh, sure can I be 🦔 or 🥦 if they're available - you can choose which one, I don't mind either way!
exactly. which is why i mulled over a smut scene for the longest time, even when it didn't happen in chap 8, i initially said there'll be one for the final chapter just bc i felt something needed to happen between them before i could rlly put a closing to the story once and 4 all. but it's also the eventual realization that they don't need one. and im glad i stuck with that choice; i think it was the right one since they still have so many things to work on.
and u right 😂 after all, with how seonghwa's character is, i believe he will do whatever he want anyways lmao (for the right reasons this time). and yes hongjoong. im glad u brought him up. i wanted to give a dynamic between him and y/n where they really would just b better off as friends. ofc, they got a lot of love for one another, but they also idealized/romanticized the other person in the same way u would look up to an idol, y'know? but with seonghwa, y/n already knows his flaws, his lows, and how stupid he can rlly be; which is what makes their moments all more special when she does like something about him. but with hongjoong, she would have a harder time processing that he's not this dream guy she built in her head. idk if that makes any sense 😭
as for what happens to them post-final chapter, it really is up to the readers' imagination unfortunately. i havent really thought too much about it, but somewhat, somehow, we can say they are endgame <3
as for my other works, i cannot confidently recommend any already existing completed piece bc i am embarrassed about all of them to an extent lmaooo (i am still kind of a new writer to atinyblr). but u will see that i mainly write for San bc he is my bias <3 the only other series i have besides blacklist, is one I wrote for him called push&pull but the outcome of that fic is kinda shitty and i would steer clear. BUT I do have a new series coming out, call Broken though it is for San. Just posted the masterlist for it yesterday, not too long after finishing up blacklist. that would be the only one i'd say u keep your eyes on just if u want to stick around. i've yet to write for it, which is why i hope that when i do, it will turn out okay. i am kind of a fuckboy/badboy lover lmaoooo... u will see that very quick.
and I like 🦔 hehe. it's cute. so thank you again for talking to me, miss 🦔. ur efforts r greatly appreciated. but no pressure! 💖 i also try to keep the response as short as possible, but they always end up being essay-length, im sorry 😭

bestie help, i need book recommendations (that my teacher will think are grade-appropriate. apparently, hunger games is lower than my grade level) so i’m looking for books that Jason would totally read and enjoy and probably be able to write several essays about. help pls
heck yeah.
ok so necessary reading for every bastard on here:
pride and prejudice - jane austen
fahrenheit 451 - ray bradbury
1984 - george orwell
good omens - neil gaiman and terry pratchet
macbeth - shakespeare
the 7 husbands of evelyn hugo - taylor jenkins reid
slaughterhouse 5 - kurt vonnegut
the picture of dorian gray - oscar wilde
maurice - e.m forster
if we were villains - m.l rio
the goldfinch - donna tartt
books that kinda skirt the edge of YA but are still necessary reading for every bastard on here:
perks of being a wallflower - stephen chbosky
his dark materials trilogy - philip pullman
#ok so here's all the books i think jason would like that i've at least read so im not recommending total crap to you#pride &p you have to read bc it gives you a really great idea of the language of then so it makes other books easier to read as well#fahrenheit 451 and 1984 are kind of the 'go outside and touch grass' of literature and you HAVE to have read at least once in your life#good omens is just good natured fun and as wacky as it is it's excellently written and one of the best modern fantasy novels ever#macbeth is a cool fucking play and it has excellent themes of like the going mad and murder crazy y'all keep talking about w jason#for that matter i'm also a big fan of hamlet (and jason even mentions it in the comics at one point lmao)#the 7 husbands is this excellent story about a hollywood starlet whod been married 7 times retelling her life to a journalist#it's VERY GOOD and has a lot of diversity- but that's really all i can say without spoiling it#personally i just read things without checking the description and it makes the experience so much better#slaughterhouse 5 again is a must read! its a sort of science fiction/anti-war/time travel/introspective novel that deserves to be read#i wont spoil anything bc again reading it without the description makes it so much better but it was written by a ww2 soldier who was a pow#the picture of dorian gray for ppl who havent read it is basically about art and beauty and rabid twinks losing their shit#it's great tho like the deterioration of the inner self being reflected on the painting????? REVOLUTIONARY#i read maurice a few weeks ago and it's this really beautiful look at homosexuality and gay relationships and love in the early 1900s#em forster wrote the book in 1913/1914 but it was only published in the 70s but this is like so fucking interesting to read like DAMN#also maurice is such a funny lil bitch like he's so dramatic i love that little fuckhead#if we were villains is like the most creative adaptation of shakespeare i've ever seen. like it takes a lot of themes and elements from -#shakespeare and then makes that into an entirely new story its FANTASTIC and you should definitely read that AND macbeth together#that's just like an essay idea for you- you can compare a shakespeare play mentioned in the book to the book its great#the goldfinch is 'twink with mental problems should probably see a shrink but instead does drugs and cries over a painting'#but it's kind of good ngl even if i think it sometimes veers into pretentious asshole territory#as for the perks of being a wallflower? fantastic and showstopping and you'll probably cry.#his dark materials is just fun and was fucking cool to read and also has some of the best fucking world building ive ever seen#also it impacted fantasy and childrens books for the next few decades so HELL YEAH read it#if youve read all these tags. i respect you. but yeah these are great books just read them#jason would love them too bc i said so#if someone asks me to i'll probably explain all this in more detail but for now. READ THIS shit i swear to god#anon#bataranswers#book rec

is there an otome game equivalent to the watch-this-anime-girl-die-in-your-arms genre of galge. like not just any nakige im talking full out feather/wing motifs. echoing piano synth music all over. cgs of an anime boy with his hair flowing in the wind staring into the distance with a melancholic look. mildly incomprehensible fantasy elements. watch the anime boy die to the dulcet tones of singer-songwriter Lia singing a vocal version of a significant leitmotif from the soundtrack.
#sorry i played too many key games as a teenager and now ive decided jun maeda is my mortal nemesis#i really do actually truly adore every key property ive experienced like some of these things lowkey changed my life#i only talk like about jun maeda like he killed my family BECAUSE HE DID#HE MADE ME WATCH MY DAUGHTER DIE IN MY ARMS. TWICE. DEAR GOD HE GOT ME TWICE WITH THE SAME TRICK#and he'll get me again............he'll get me again#i'll hear some piano synths and it'll be all over#also sorry for using advanced vn terms that expose me as being in too deep on main#just be glad ive restrained myself long enough from typing an entire essay#as to why i view romance-based visual novels and dating sims as entirely separate (albeit not mutually exclusive) types of games#ANYWAY nakige is like a super sad game with a happy or uplifting ending#to be honest im pretty much only familiar with nakige in the realms of bishoujo games#i havent seen much of other like....gender-makeups? of vn having this style of game but ive also been super behind on localizations#and i cant read japanese so theres lots outside my radar#(i know it seems kinda weird to categorize romance games by the gender and sexuality makeup of the cast but#i find its very useful particularly as a historical tool. while any game about a person of whatever gender romancing people of#whatever genders could be written in all kinds of different ways and utilize different trops and genres#historically these different types of vns often came from different genre offshoots and origins#so they pull from different sets of tropes depending on how the path diverged in this long line of video game history#if that makes sense? there is and always has been plenty of games that break the mold tho)#i think bl has a bit of that type of sappy bittersweet game. not so sure about gl but im sure its out there#most of the gl im familiar with has either been super fluffy or like melodrama but in a 90s shoujo ai manga kinda way (compliment)#whats the otome game scene like. i know voltage was advertising a game where u date a ghost or some shit? i dunno i havent played it kfdsjs#do i have to be the change i wish to see in the world. every day i think of romance based vns i want to make. every day i dont make them orz#wait. wait. does. hatoful. is hat ofal boyfriend a nakige. like a classic key ass nakige. some routes could be. ive cracked the code#all it needs is singer songwriter lia to sing a tune over it.................
