Why do you "source" art on posts by the original artist?? It drives me up the wall every time I see a post with your totally unnecessary addition

Presumably you are capable of finding the 'Block' or 'Unfollow' button and to no longer be slammed into the walls over making sure artists are credited? But if this is technically beyond your capabilities please ask a trusted adult to help you (seriously not joking: Why are You Still Here??).

More seriously, because there are people who still genuinely believe this blog is the artist's blog which it isn't, and has repeatedly said so.

There is already a statement with several different reasons why this blog has started doing this.

Additionally: if an artist dislikes having the "from: Source" added on, their wishes for how their own art is shared will of course be respected. So far that hasn't happened. However, there have been Several whiners who think this blog is maintained purely for self-focused Karens to complain to.

To whichever teenager drank the Christian-purity koolaid, and described crediting artists as "pretty weird" please go outside and meet new people. Encounter strangers outside your cult/compound/church and realize that everyone is a little different. Touch grass and smell the flowers. Find out that there are things a lot weirder than crediting an artist???

And if any other random stranger thinks their opinion is somehow important here, just block and move on with your life.

I recently bought an art book on Caspar David Friedrich, whose emotional work stuck with me since I first saw it in a museum years ago. Over the course of a few weeks, I read about his life and at the same time did studies/interpretations of many pieces. It was a really enjoyable and fulfilling project; here's a good lot of them together :)

I was happy to see many people enjoyed Friedrich's work+my interpretations while posting them individually. It took way too long, but I FINALLY set up a print shop for some of these + some other pieces for those who expressed interest. Thank you so much!

As cameras becomes more normalized (Sarah Bernhardt encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use cameras because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by manufacturing companies. I paint not because I want a painting but because I love the process of painting. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

if i have to explain to you that using a camera to take a picture is not the same as using generative ai to generate an image then you are a fucking moron.
