Quick life update -- I've been trying SO hard to balance work, streaming, rest (especially with Fibromyalgia), and what artwork I NEED to do vs. what I want to do. Apparently, I'm not allowed to have that balance. So, unfortunately, chapter 4 of Confessions (along with the rest of the Bloodweave Week prompts and completion of the Galemancer Week prompts) will have to take a backseat for a week or two. (Maybe more, I sincerely hope not.)

Believe me. I want nothing more than to delve into this world and STAY in it. I have so many fics and art pieces planned (of a MUCH higher caliber than what you've seen here so far) And that time is coming soon. But I need to devote 100% of my time and attention to finishing this big commission that has taken over a year of my artistic time.

I'll still be reading and sharing and adoring others' work in the meantime, for my own sanity! See you on the other side. 💜

P.S. As a demonstration of the artistic style I'll be going for in my other pieces of artwork, I present to you, Abe from Oddworld - part of the commission I'm currently working on. All completely hand-drawn and blended on my Huion tablet with Affinity Designer.

#lol good luck finding all of the photoshopped versions in the rb history. ‘manatee restored’ is still my favorite of all time #misc #I encourage anyone dyslexic to try rotating him in your mind. I can’t do that; which is why I’m asking you to.#also: a bunch of tags are surprised this isn’t ‘shopped #it’s the lighting. backlit by the sun (which is diffused through the water) but also forelit artificially #the artificial light - a flash pack or something - casts a hard shadow under the creatures arm #which normally wouldn’t be possible if backlit by the SUN; you’d see a less-hard/more-fragmented shadow above water #as light sources ‘compete’ in a sense - and since there aren’t any light sources which can outshine the literal sun #it looks a bit weird when the darkest shadow is being cast from any other origin point - which is what’s essentially happening here #I don’t know the mechanics of how light travels through water; but I know the effect is substantial even with relatively short distances #also: it’s been balanced and color corrected by the author of the photo - who made deliberate choices to bring out the full potential #so it’s not like it’s a fresh and untouched export #but the kind of ‘tacked on’ appearance of the creature is a result of the lighting conditions within the image

There’s no such thing as work-life balance for neurodivergent & chronically ill people.

This is because everything in my life requires work:

maintaining friendships

keeping up with my hygiene

managing bills

making money

remembering my basic needs

sleeping regularly

outputting creatively

All requires some aspect of work for me.

And when everything in your life requires work, your balance goes out the window.

If you're neurodivergent and overwhelmed — I see you.

If you're chronically ill and overwhelmed — I see you.

You're not dysfunctional.

You're not incapable.

You're doing your best.

I’m going to be 21 next month, and I’ve lived on my own since 18.

And yet I’m still like that 12 year old girl who knew nothing about how to survive. Mad that innit?

Enough of the trope where memory loss undoes the damage or the corruption or whatever. More content where removing memories just removes the context.

The tragedy of needing to grieve and not knowing what or who you lost or why. The angst of having trauma and being denied the awareness that it's trauma. The suspense of being different somehow and left to wonder how and when. The tension of knowing that something is off and you can't find where it hurts. The Adventure Zone gets it. Kingdom Hearts gets it.

There is an aching inside you and you don't know how it got there.
