fuck it. i'm headcanoning toji as a movie buff. he doesn't really bring it up, only shiu knows about it and you find about it super randomly. like you're watching smth and he just knows the movie by just looking at the tv for a second???? and you're like??? hello?? have you seen this??? and he says no??????? he just knows about it?????? and then proceeds to sit and watch it with you (he pulls your feet onto his lap btw this is important information).

toji likes films from the 80's & 90's the most – blade runner, scream, alien, the indiana jones films, evil dead, the matrix, se7en, the big lebowski, etc etc. he likes comedy and he likes action but he isn't afraid to watch the oscar baits either. honorary mentions to death proof and kill bill and ocean's eleven.

and i whole-heartedly believe he would pull some "um actually☝🤓" shit on you out of nowhere too?????? he definitely likes to make fun of your film choices but he isnt't actually picky and i think he's willing to watch just about everything. he laughs very loudly at the stupidest jokes btw. and also infodumps about weapons and fighting and points out every single time somebody holds a gun in a weird way or when an injury is unrealistic. he's scoffing and rolling his eyes but doesn't stop watching it bc it's so entertaining to watch people be stupid.

if you're younger than him, he most certainly pretends to NOT be surprised if you know the older films, he definitely tries to act a little pretentious lmao. but he is happy if you show interest in the films he likes even if they aren't your favourite. oh and i also think that he would LOVE is you asked him questions. bear with me bear with me - he acts like he's annoyed, probably places his hand on your mouth when you're laying down on his lap but then answers anyway. he answers every time.

he likes going to the cinema aswell. he always sits in the last row and he always buys popcorn (obvs). I just wanna take the time to list the fucking bugs on the QSMP because they range from mildly inconvenient to this has changed history forever and they are the weirdest fucking bugs

Broken hearts: this is the bug of when people log in, it shows half of their hearts just being blacked out and it take someone smacking you to get them back. Its very funny when an egg or someone randomly goes "hey hit me". Honorary mention is when someone gets withered and the withered hearts stay. Very angsty I love.

Broken voice: this is many things, but mainly when someone has to deafen and undeafen when someone relogs. It was a big problem in early days because people didnt know and it was annoying, but now its just common knowledge.

Sweeping edge: Me and my homies hate this bug. Basically it was a line of code in one of the mods that got bugged and instead of sweeping edge dealing 0.5 of the damage of a hit, it would deal 5 time more. For example, when Etoiles and Bad were testing it out, Pomme hit Bad with a weapon and it killed Etoiles who was next to Bad. This is more than likely the cause of deaths for Tilin and Juanaflippa. Im glad it got fixed, but it still installs fear into OG islanders to this day.

Dorime bug: The funniest and stupidest bug of all. Dorime randomly playing out of nowhere and the only way to get it to stop is to turn musicbox noises on and off. It happens enough that people usually have their musicbox noises turned off at all times

Sound bug: Sounds be loud. Even from hundreds of blocks away. This is elevator sounds, monster/demon sounds, camera sounds, etc. Its normal at this point, but it sometimes freaks people out and think admins are fucking with them.

Dapper's flying hammer bug: A recent bug, but when Dapper and someone fight and Dapper hits them with their hammer, they start flying indefinitely or until they relog. The first time this happened was fucking insane because it was Dapper and Ramon doing their usual fighting and then Ramon started flying away. Fit, Bad, and Dapper all had no idea what to do and were all freaking out/crying laughing.

Ramon's duping bug: A bug that's been fixed, but Ramon figured out that if you sling shot something in a certain way (I think it was in the Copacabana ocean?) it would dupe a whole stack of whatever was shot. This also lead to Ramon and Fit figuring out that if you sling shot a waystone, it fucking crashes the server. Which led to a day where everyone was using that so they can keep doing Lucky Ducks.

Death bug: This is when someone has the visual of "0.0/100.0 Time left 00:00:00" stuck on their screen. Usually leads to someone BEGGING someone to let them kill them. Pretty funny and dumb.

Eggs being tall: Aka eggs models not loading for people. It usually makes people try to roleplay their way out and being scared of tall eggs. I.E. "Tall Richas isnt real" or Cellbit screaming in horror in purgatory when the lil eye guy model wasnt loading and saying the castle is haunted.

Teleport bug: Not very common, but some times if someone is trying to use their warpstone, they particles start to fly around them and they dont stop until the person lets go of the warpstone. This can make a wall of purple particles around someone.

Egg names: This is a very early "bug". In the beginning, in order for the parents to name their egg, they had to right click their eggs and name them. This made people accidentally name their eggs stuff like "eee" or "Wwww". Also other parents naming other eggs other names (Mariana named Leo "shit" and Foolish named Juana "Marianaisabitchjr"). On the first day, for some reason, everyone was named "TILIN" for like 5 minutes. This 'bug' also got the iconic clip of Phil right clicking on the OG code and he got a chance to name it and it freaked him out.

Im pretty sure there's a lot more, but I love how insanely modded server has the weirdest bugs known to man. Feel free to add any you remember.

Three ships: Prongsfoot because once my mind opened up to it, I never looked back. It made sense to me and gave me the OTP tingles, y'know? It's their absolute devotion, obsession, loyalty and unconditional love for each other. It's the "I'd burn the world for you" energy. Ugh. 😭 There's room for both funny and tragic or any AU fics . (I'll read anything where their characterisations work for the story.) Drarry because they're also obsessed with each other, just on opposing sides. And it's nice to be able to like at least one major ship where there's tons of fanfiction available because Prongsfoot is still such an acquired taste (for reasons that make no sense to me), so yeah, I do enjoy it a lot. Jilypad because they have so much love for each other and they have the hottest sex. (Honorary mention: Obikin for SW. It's such a deliciously tragic ship.)

You were always a sucker for sweet things, no matter the kind. this time you could enjoy one simple thing without Childe coming to interrupt you. The vendor nodded, handing you a small folded paper dish with a stick of skewered dango on it.

Before you could reach for your mora pouch a familiar voice rang through your ears. Not again, you thought. “I’ll pay for it, it’s my treat” Without even looking you instantly knew who it was. Goddamn Childe once again. “No” you retort. letting him get that smug satisfaction was not on your to-do list. You swiftly hand the vendor some mora and take your dango in one fell swoop. Childe pouts, trailing after you.

“You should have just let me pay for it” you speed up your walking, but he matches your speed all too quickly. Pausing momentarily to see if he had left you alone yet, your guard is let down briefly. Before you could notice what happened, mora was placed next to your dango. You sigh, noticing the golden coins before you. “Archons Childe, just take it back I don’t want to be in debt to you.”

1: Favourite and least favourite character

Favourite is Kiyama Hiroto. His character is so interesting to me!! I can’t help but psychoanalyse him in literally every scene he appears in. He’s such an interesting and well developed character, especially in season 2.

I just love his arc in s2. Like you can TELL he’s a good person really but he also has a deep sense of duty/loyalty to Kira Seijirou (👎👎hate that guy) because of how he’s been manipulated. His character is so tragic because of this. The first time Genesis play raimon is so sad because hiroto just wants to play real football and have fun the way he sees Raimon doing but he can’t 😭😭😭. And then he accidentally injures Fubuki and obviously feels so guilty about it 😭😭😭

He’s also so dramatic for no reason I love it. Like he’ll suddenly disappear after talking to Endou, or when he literally jumped off a water tower when he stopped Nagumo from sneaking onto Raimon, or appeared on the roof when he stopped the Chaos vs Ramion match. He’s so iconic the entire way through.

I’m so sad we didn’t get more of him during s3 because he WENT THROUGH IT and you don’t get over that in 3 months.

Least favourite is Kozoumaru Sasuke. He tries to be Gouenji but he just isn’t 💀

7: favourite ship

Has to be hiromido. I just think they make a really nice pair. Also them together + adopting Kariya is everything to me. I wish we had some kind of content about them as a family, aside from the mini comic, because they’re so cute 😭😭

I’ve already ranted about him so I’ll give the characters that are in joint second place.

(Idk if fubuki counts as an orphan since he could have other family members but just know I am very much obsessed with him as well.)

Midorkiawa is my second fave confirmed orphan. He’s such a silly guy !!! But also what he goes through in s3 is so sad I wanna give him a hug. He’s so desperate to prove to himself he should be on the team and not fall behind that he destroys himself in the process 😭😭😭 They should have brought him back at some point in the finals he deserved it :(((

Honorary mentions to Suzuno and Nagumo. They’re such menaces I love them. Like in the dub when Suzuno says he’s going to “randomly destroy parts of Tokyo… for no reason.” Or the whole thing with Nagumo trying to get onto Raimon just because he felt like it.

dizzy what type of music do you like? What genres? artists? bands?

I like a little bit of everything but the music of my heart comes down to two very very different genres. The first is 1930s-1960s big band style music. I love Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerland, Judy Garland (a teenage hyperfix), James Darren style smooth vocals and huge emotion. This is my head empty belt along when no one's home type of music. It's the background noise that makes my brain go brrr.

And the second is very lyrics-driven.... anything, really. I lean towards is a very alt americana style based on childhood influences. I just love lyrics though, I love when lyrics are clever or catchy, I love when they have layers to them. Part of the reason kpop never caught on to me is just an inherent frustration with my own inability to understand what they're saying as I listen. Steve Forbert, Todd Snider, Guy Clark, Conor Oberst (though I don't support him as a person),

The honorary mention category is anything with a fandom connotation to it. Also, randomly, I had never really listened to any Taylor Swift music before this year but I ended up hearing TTPD during a trip with Charlotte that I just have really strong emotional attachment to and now I love that album. (I still haven't listened to much other Taylor Swift though, oops.)

ghost of you was so?? there was something so gentle and ethereal about that song, like always. all of their performances of ghost of you just hit different. my favorite song is outer space/carry on solely because a) it was everything i've ever dreamed it would be and b) that song has gotten me through some absolutely nasty times and so it has a special place in my heart.

OUTER SPACE/CARRY ON was my favorite song for a long, long time. 🥹 i loved hearing it live and i wish i’ll be able to watch them live if they ever visit my country for this tour (patiently waiting for their tour date + hoping it’ll match my days off from work)

my all time favorite song truly is *drum rolls* between if you don’t know & bad omens! if you don’t know is just,,, it’s i don’t know how to explain it lol. i know bad omens is super popular but it is very popular for a reason. it pulls the strings in my heart that i didn’t even know existed, so the live version basically just knocks me off dead.

as for inspiration! well,,, i guess i think about donghyuck a lot. like, sometimes it becomes very unhealthy that i’d randomly think, what if donghyuck did this or did that? for example! for find your way back home, i was watching hannah montana the movie and it was super emotional and nostalgic, and i thought, does donghyuck ever miss going home? living a normal life? and then, while writing it, i think it’s normal for us writers to somehow relate ourselves to our pieces. i’m 24, most of my friends are going through what donghyuck and the reader are struggling on: trying to please everybody at our own expense, uncertain of the path we’re taking, feeling small for having accomplished nothing, or feeling drained for having accomplished too many—all while falling in love in between.

anyway, writing is free. in writing and reading, we meet them in places we create. it’s fleeting, because it ends as soon as the story does, but I think i like to believe that it exists somewhere out there, even only in my imagination.

17. Top five books of the year

In no particular order:

Detransition, Baby by Torrey Peters. Oof. A much-needed addition to the conversation as well as just a great novel. Absolutely turned me inside out. Also a great demonstration of how it’s possible to write ~diverse characters who are also extremely flawed people, take notes. 

Zwischen Koran und Kafka by Navid Kermani. It tapped into all my favourite nerdery subjects in the exact way I enjoy (well. I profoundly disagreed with the theatre chapter :P) -- as well as providing some much-needed healing regarding public discourse shit I found extremely upsetting at the time it was written. Very glad to have found another strong immigrant voice in Germany (the fact that he’s a great writer doesn’t hurt).

Girlhood by Julia Copus. Sometimes the best poet you’ve read in a while is someone you’ve randomly pulled off the library shelf? I mean just 

“Adolf Büker, it was not the soldier in you but the lover who shaped my life. I think of him now, the morning you left for war. Your new young wife beside you doesn't know yet how the story goes. Your final battle tucked in the future still, she is laying the breakfast unaware that already my sweetheart's grandmother is safely landed inside her - meaning I live not in some other world but here in this one in which your great grandson returns each evening at the end of both our working days, and the light bounces off my glass any ordinary morning [...].”

Paper Towns by John Green. Look, I know, but to my own surprise, John Green doesn’t suck actually. He might be a little repetitive across his body of work, but I enjoyed this first take I’ve read on this kinda story. 

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up by Marie Kondo. I actually didn’t find the book on its own a perfect explanation of her method, the Netflix series and also reading about people’s experiences with it did a lot of work, but I’m letting it stand for my discovery of re-organizing my life. I didn’t become a strict disciple of anything, be it the konmari method or minimalism, but the idea of considering whether items have a place in the future with you and letting go of the guilt over unwanted and unused things honestly changed my life. 

(Honorary mention for The Secret History, which I read most of last year, but technically finished in January. I think what people liked back on 2013-ish tumblr were the ~dark academia vibes and the miniscule gay bits, but honestly it’s just deeply entertaining. Popcorning over horrible people only gets better when they’re also hilariously pretentious and don't have a shred of self-awareness.)

I also just realized I named an adult novel, a YA novel, a poetry collection and two very different kinds of non-fiction, which was certainly not on purpose, but hey :D

Aaaaaaahhh so difficult, I love old clothes so much 😭. I guess I'd have to say late 1600s-early 1700s simply by virtue of drawing it constantly. I'm a big fan of the huge justacorps and cravats. It's also interesting to me it's basically the precursor to 3 piece suits(my favorite thing ever.) So I must also sau: honorary mention of early 20th century as well, bcs I love the cut of suits from back then, and I wish we would return to that. I like my clothes in modern day, but they feel so boring compared to everything like hmmmm pre-1950s or so. I could go on a whole rant about it 😭😭

Well technically band concerts all throughout high school- But actually, it was The Planets in late 2022. I've loved classical music for a while, but my only chance to hear it in person was just for school. I think my mom randomly told me about The Planets concert, and that's one of my fav pieces ever, so I HAD TO! And its spiraled from there, and now I stalk the schedule all the time and explode over what pieces are scheduled. Rn I wanna get a friend to go with me to The Miraculous Mandarin, but convince them to not look up the music at all, bcs I think it'd be funny.

As much as I hate the soul patch, at least its cunty. Like at least it was paired with really good haircuts, and longer hair. Now it just feels like he refuses to grow it out past a certain point which pains me sooooo bad. The weird facial hair choices feel bold and interesting icl, whereas the haircuts rn are just, nothing really. His hair usually ends up looking good irl, but still the barbershop pics take 5 yrs off my life every time.

OOC: Well that’s a different story if SCP!MC/Yuu were an anomaly themselves, especially this one you mentioned. Since SCP-053 has anomalous effects which when being around the little girl more than 10 minutes (as well as having physical contact or make eye contact), anyone by the child will enact paranoia, irrationality, and homicidal behavior towards the subject, attempting to harm her.

If this anomaly were MC/Yuu and somehow traveled to Twisted Wonderland, unfortunately most of the TWST cast could be affected by them since they’re human, no matter what.

If they were affected by MC/Yuu as SCP-053 from the beginning of the Canon storyline, then there’s no canon storyline as humans in Twisted Wonderland attempted to kill the anomalous being, they’ll suffer sudden heart attacks or major seizures. This would lead to premature deaths.

As for other magical species such as Fae creatures, beast-people and mer-people, they probably won’t be experiencing such effects. That means the Savanaclaw Trio, the Octavinelle Trio and half of the Diasomnia group are safe, for now.

The setting was quite bizarre for the feelings you felt so deeply and beautifully in your heart; you were completely, utterly mesmerized by the boy standing beside you. You walked in this dark, melancholic place with your fingers intertwined; both his and your hands interlocked. He carried a backpack of filming equipment, drinks, snacks, and band-aids; you carried a separate bag of blankets and pillows. Ghosts and ghouls were rumored to be in this grey, brooding place; even dangerous rituals have taken place here: Rosehill Cemetery. 

“Where do you wanna film the intro? I was thinking next to the Mortuary,” Colby said, “If you’re still comfortable and down for this, that is.” 

“Of course I am!! Maybe a little nervous, but there’s no turning back now,” You replied, feeling a cold chill go down your spine at the thought of anything going wrong. 

“Then the Mortuary it is,” He said with a grin that contained a hint of rebellion and mischief in it. 

As the violet-haired boy filmed the intro to his video, you admired his every feature and each mannerism. The way he talked while swaying his hands and hips; the dimples slightly showing through his cheeks, the motions of his jawline. The angelic, ethereal man that stood before you made you weak to your knees; it was hard to count every breath he took from your lungs. 

You were so in awe that you couldn’t hear the pet names said to get your attention, until finally he said your name. 

“Y/N? You alright?” He questioned with a slight smile, catching your wandering eyes. 

“Perfect.” You replied with a soft smile as he looked you up and down. 

You both ended up heading to the biggest honorary statue nearby, to not only take a thumbnail but also to explore more of the graveyard. As you quietly stumbled down the gravel path with Colby, hand in hand, he made witty comments to the camera whilst paying close attention to your surroundings.  This if the first kind of video of Colby’s that you’ve joined; you’ve always been eager to do something like this, though you know it can get risky and dangerous. That’s exactly why he held it off for so long, he never wanted to put you in any kind of uncomfortable or tense situations. The dyed-haired boy leading you has always been the utmost respectful and kind human being you’ve ever laid your eyes on. 

The amount of pure infatuation and love you held for him came without hesitance or thought; no number could label what you felt, no word could describe what happened in you when you simply glance at him. The electric blue butterflies swarming through your heart and the rosewater in your veins never faded, only growing more and more intense each waking second. Before him, it was as if your world could only be seen in light grey and shades of blue; now everything is built with much higher saturation. 

You knew not of what may happen in the future, but you knew you seen him in every upcoming chapter. 

“Excited?” Colby asked, grinning at you as he looked back at you. 

“Very; and a little scared, not gonna lie,” you replied with a light, friendly laugh. 

“It’ll all be fine, if anything were to happen you know we can just go home,” he reassured you with a sly wink. 

You nodded with a giddy smile, trying your best to look away from him. He could always make you feel like you’re on top of the world even with the smallest of interactions - that absolute bastard. You rolled your eyes as you realized just how much you’ve truly fallen for him. 

You skipped in front of him and stopped him from walking ahead, smirking at him while he looked at you questioningly and suspiciously. 

“What’re you up to, rascal?” He asked, knowing of your mischievous tendencies in the past. 

“Now why do you always assume the worst from me?” you laughed as you started to trace a fingertip along his jawline, then to his neck; you felt him swallow as if he felt nervous, though you knew it wasn’t nervousness making him eager. Soon enough your fingertip made it’s way down to his chest, then to the bottom half of his black button down shirt. You let out a light laugh as you teased, completely removing your hand from his torso entirely. 

Colby scoffed and quickly ran his ring-clad fingers up to your throat, his hand then forming a light grip across your jaw.  

“Wanna think about teasing me again, princess?” He asked with a now lower toned voice. 

You sweetly smiled at his intimidating exterior and leaned in to kiss him, in which he happily obliged. 

You felt his soft, light pink-tinted lips against your own and the rest of your face grew numb. Your body became weak, and your legs tightly squeeze together as you felt the grip on your throat roughen. His tongue darted against your bottom lip, making you let out a sweet, soft sound. Within a few seconds, your hands started wandering beneath his slightly unbuttoned shirt; though as soon as your hand drifted lower, Colby almost immediately pulled away.  

You were snapped out of your lovesick state as his facial features grew concerned; the only thing you seen at the statue you were a few feet away from was the illumination of candlelight and light chanting.

“Down,” He whispered, gently grabbing your shoulder and taking you to crouch with him. He placed a finger over his mouth, creating a silent “sh,” sound as he watched what was happening. 

“Colby,” you whispered, “What’re they doing? Who are they?” you began to panic. 

“Sweetheart, it’s going to be okay, just make sure you stay with me and do as I say,” he calmly whispered while making the softest direct eye contact with you. 

He knew you have always had the worst anxiety and one of his top priorities are making sure that anxiety is calmed; that you’re taken care of. He always tries his best to keep you comfortable in every setting, that became much more evident rather than subtle when you told him about your anxiety. He very much understood what you went through and knew that you could help each other through your anxiety issues. Situations like this was something he never wanted you to experience. 

“Who’s there?” a man in black attire yelled from the statue, looking in your direction. The chanting stopped. 

Colby had a look of shock across his face, then sudden terror as he seen something near the statue that you didn’t; as soon as he gasped, the next thing you knew was running the opposite direction with him. 

“We gotta get the fuck out of here,” Colby loudly spoke right next to you as you ran; he made sure never to let go of your hand. 

“What did you see?” you yelled in response, trying to keep up with him when it came down to every single breath.

Colby didn’t respond, but he glanced back to see six masked silhouettes in the far distance; they did not run, they walked in unison. 

At this point of running for what felt like decades though it had only been an estimated 45 minutes, you could see what looked like the parking lot close ahead. You had tears in your eyes that just wouldn’t drop; your throat felt like it was closing more and more within each passing second. 

You and Colby finally made it to his car and looked back for anyone near you. No one else was to be seen. You jumped in and slammed the door, Colby then locking the car and doing nothing less than booking it. 

He quickly pulled out of the parking lot and started going far faster than he should have. You seen him glance towards you in concern, making sure you were safe. His fingertips tapped on the steering wheel due to anxiousness. 

“Colby, breathe, you’ve got me,” you reassuringly said to him with a small smile, though your voice came out with cracks and whines. 

“Are you okay? I’m so sorry, this was such a bad idea,” he said to you in response, placing his right hand on your thigh whilst he continued driving. 

“I’ll be fine as soon as we get home, please just relax for me?” you asked sweetly. 

He nodded, his muscles untensing and his jaw unclenching. 

“What can I do to make this up to you, sweetheart?” he asked, feeling incredibly guilty for the situation he put you in. 

“You have nothing to make up to me love, but if we’re being honest the footage wouldn’t have been used anyway,” you said causing both of you to let out a light laugh, “so we could film another video tonight instead. A more laid-back one? Perhaps making a Halloween cake?” you excitedly smiled. 

“Anything for you, baby,” he sighed with relief, “but we have to watch horror movies tonight and I don’t make the rules, you gotta cuddle me,” Colby demanded. 

“Most definitely, pumpkin,” you replied lovingly.

oh my god. oh my god thank you. thank you for this. thank you i cannot thank you enough for this. 

MOST LIKELY TO FALL IN LOVE WITH A FAKE PARTNER 

first person i thought of was akaashi keiji. okay, hear me out. i think akaashi would be hesitant to fake a relationship in general for that very reason, in fear of one or the other catching feelings. but honestly, i think he’d be pretty confident about it not being him, until he starts to enjoy the idea of the fake relationship a little too much. i think it’d be the little things for akaashi, things like how comfortable he starts being around them, how natural it gets to pretend, how he starts to look forward to it, how he wants to be seen, just so they could hold his hand or kiss his cheek or pretend to be in love with him. i think when he notices it, when he realizes that he’s fallen for them, he beats himself up about it a lot, because it’s exactly what he was afraid of. but honestly, out of all the people i’ll mention, he is the one that deals with it best, and acts the most normal, never lets it show or anything like that. 

i think iwaizumi hajime as well, and i’ll explain as well. iwaizumi probably agreed to the fake relationship on a whim, like ‘what’s the worst that could happen’ type of decision. if it’s someone he’s relatively close to, the decision would come even easier to him, because he doesn’t really think it through. but when it actually comes to being in the fake relationship, he is so shy about it, because that’s how he would be generally, you know. i think iwaizumi would fall in love because the affection, even if it’s fake, is unfamiliar, but in a good way. it’s welcomed. he’s not — used to it, as upsetting as it sounds. so it becomes really hard for him to not enjoy every touch and every word. like he melts so much when you hug him or hold his hand or tell someone that he’s your boyfriend. he likes it so much, and he doesn’t realize it until a friend that’s aware of your fake relationship, maybe oikawa or makki or mattsun, notice him looking at you and saying, “you’re really selling it, one might think you’re actually in love with them.” and his entire body just seizes up. 

i know this doesn’t sound very believable, but miya atsumu. he’d be extremely cocky going into this fake relationship with you, but after a little too long of it, he realizes that he actually wants this with you. it hits him all of a sudden when you kiss him in front of a bunch of people, and he realizes that this is fake, and not real. and then he realizes that he wants it to be real. it’s the domesticity and comfortableness of it all that reels him in. how when his hand rests on your waist, on your thigh, in your back pocket, it feels right. or his arm is around your shoulder, you’re curled up to him, you’re sitting on his lap, it feels right. when he brushes your hair back, or you laugh at one of his jokes, or you’re his date at an event, when he’s yours, when you’re forced to share a room and a bed because everyone thinks you’re in a relationship, it feels right. he wants it with you. he doesn’t process that it’s fake, that you’re doing it for show, until he kisses you randomly. he presses his lips to yours with a soft peck as goodnight, but no one’s around, there’s no reason for him to have done so. he’d done it because he’d wanted to. he’d always wanted to. 

i think semi eita too, because in a way, he also doesn’t register that it’s not real after a while, but also because he starts expecting it to be the norm between you two. like the closeness, physically, emotionally, all of it, he starts to just expect it even when you’re alone. when you don’t reach for him, when you don’t immediately lean into him, he gets really confused for a moment. and that’s when it really clicks for him, that he wants it from you, all the time, even when no one’s around. especially when no one’s around. 

bokuto kōtarō too, because obviously. he would not be able to separate reality from fake in a really short while. he’ll really get lost in it, and unintentionally, he’ll start to get too comfortable with you. it’s very endearing though, and he makes it seem so natural that you have no choice but to also feel just as comfortable. like he makes the fake relationship feel so real that even you start to doubt yourself. and! it’s all unintentional.

2022 mid year reading wrap up

hello i invented this for myself by throwing together the things i want to talk about the most 😎

general progress:

i have read 105 books out of my goal of 120. this is a lot! most of the “extra” count comes from graphic novels, novellas, manga, etc. which i have read a lot more of this year

included in the above are 50 novels, which is exactly on pace

i had the goal in 2022 to read one book per month randomly picked from my tbr, which has been going great,

and the goal to read one book per month from the physical books that i own but haven’t read yet, and that has been going uhhh not as great. i’m only one book behind but reading books physically is hard since i do a lot of reading either at work or commuting to and from the office

list of new 5*s so far in 2022 that i would highly recommend:

A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske - a historical fantasy romance which reads like a fanfiction in all the best ways possible

Jade War by Fonda Lee - a sorta historical urban fantasy that has some of the best world-building i’ve ever read

Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee - ditto, solid finish to the above series

She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan - a historical fantasy retelling that has some of my absolute favourite characters and relationships of this year. the gender is off the charts. i am obsessed with the deuteragonist and the toxic trio of men in this book that no one ever talks about when pitching it but who are very spectacular

Piranesi by Susanna Clarke - a fantasy where the first few chapters absolutely blew my mind with how beautifully it was written

Jane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore - a VERY fun genre-bendy YA book that i don’t want to say much about because i think it’s better blind

At Night All Blood is Black by David Diop - a historical war fiction, which is a genre i honestly usually hate so it says a lot about how absolutely fascinating this was. great poc perspective

[honorary mention] The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickinson - a fantasy that i only gave 4* but i would always recommend to people who have similar SFF tastes to me

How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu - this was foolish “bought into the marketing” hype on my end. don’t let anyone tell you that this is like cloud atlas because it is not like cloud atlas. also personally i feel like this was a weird book to publish quote unquote after covid

Portrait of a Thief by Grace D. Li - i truly think some writers just need to be told no. because grace d. li’s writing is good (especially for a debut) but the heist frame of this story is the most incomprehensible thing ever and i can’t believe anyone thought this was a good idea

Death in Her Hands by Ottessa Moshfegh - literary fiction that’s kind of horror-y, kind of mystery-y. a book that really doesn’t hand you any answers

The Seventh Perfection by Daniel Polansky - fantasy novella with a neat structure. highly recommend taking notes while reading this one, i did and it was a great way of being engaged

Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin A. Abbott - satire but make it math but make it eldritch horror. the entire thing is narrated by a square, just to give you an idea

anticipated reads for the end of the year:

Babel, or The Necessity of Violence: An Arcane History of the Oxford Translators' Revolution by R.F. Kuang - dropping the full title out of respect 😤 standalone historical fantasy from the author of the poppy war trilogy .. yes please!!

Nona the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir - third book in the locked tomb series. i am rereading in preparation and i eagerly await the insanity

Locklands by Robert Jackson Bennett - third and final book in the founders trilogy. there have truly never been books that are more written for me and i’m fascinated to see how this will end

❖   "HELLO EVERYONE! thank u for coming to this premier,” ariana smiled sweetly at the camera, as the video cut to a shot of her for the beginning of the countdown.

“we had so much fun making this 34+35 remix video for you, and uhh, we hope you love it.” she continued, playing with her hair. no matter how long she did this for she swore she would never cease to get slightly nervous in these situations. where it was her alone, in front of a camera. but her fans made her feel at ease, and she felt she owed them something, as she hadn’t done many quarantine interviews like other celebs have.

“i thought i would come celebrate and join the countdown with you guys. which is something that I've never done before, but i’m very happy to be here and i was very excited to get some questions from you all...” she held up the sheets of twitter questions she had received, “um that i’m gonna be answering while i’m here so, i cant wait to celebrate this together and countdown and answer some of your questions!” she finished with a smile.

and it was genuine. a real smile that her fans were thrilled to see.

ariana was genuinely so happy and content with her life right now. with her family, her music, her friends, harry. harry her FIANCE!! might she add.

everything just felt perfect, and after all the shit the last couple years had thrown her way, she appreciated the break.

 she got her love back, she was making music that she fully loved, and put her whole soul into, and she had fans who had stuck with her and supported her through some of the darkest times in her life, that were now able to experience her happiness and personal growth with her. so truly, little things like this, felt like the least she could do for them.

“ohh this is a good one because its 34 35 related” she tucked her hair behind her ears, “@noirgrande said ‘ummm its just i wanna the end of 34+35 is it awww shit or nooo shit, i just wanna sing the song right”

“umm it is indeed no shit” she confirmed, smiling matter of factly at the camera before reciting the closing line of the song.

“@arianalocks1223 said ‘will we get to see the track list before the songs release?’” she paused for a second to process - which turned into a few more seconds, she was a bit slow today. she had told harry with full sincerity that she thought it was because she was getting old but he had just cracked up at her absurd statement, and told her that if that was the case he’d still think she was a milf

“you will!” she nodded with certainty, “indeed. ummm... i can tell you them now” she blurted, oops.

“i suppose thats not like... is that against the rules? can i do that?” she turned, to question scooter who was supervising off camera, not wanting to get her label mad at her for releasing too much information, something she has a tendency to do. 

after getting the nod of reassurance from him she turned back to the camera, “so out of ‘POV’, you go into, um, an interlude called ‘someone like u’. after that is a song called ‘test drive’, after that is the 34/35 remix with doja and meg” she smiles lightly, “and after that is a song called ‘worst behaviour’, and after worst behaviour is... a song called ‘main thing’...” she finishes, a shy smirk forming on her face, dimples appearing, “so that’s the tracks.” 

continuing with the countdown, ariana felt her heart warm at the love her fans were giving her and this album. she loved interacting with them and making them happy and proud of her so knowing she had done just that, was an amazing feeling.

“umm hesbloodsline... @hesbloodsline ... i’m really fond of this question because its really to the point, ‘where's the pig and where the fuck is harry?’” she smiled, holding in a laugh.

“piggy’s here, she's great, she's really doing so well and life is really good for her right now, she's really thriving and doing her thing” she ranted, a hint of sarcasm in her voice, “um, i make her big salads everyday that she likes, she's doing really great. she asked me to stop posting her as much because she's actually really offended by a lot of your jokes that you make on twitter, she asked me to have a word with you guys” she continued to joke, well aware that she probably found herself more funny than anyone else did right now.

“she doesn't like the jokes about being eaten, they really hurt her, umm yeh, and she asked me to convey that... no she’s great...” she finally decided to answer, “and harry, is on set today, so um, yeh thats where he is... but don't worry i will tell him to keep you in the loop, i’ve got you” 

ariana unconsciously let a small smile take over her glossed lips when talking about harry. he had been so excited about this new project and seeing him passionate and happy about anything he’s doing, always made her happiest.

“nicole! @nastyctrl. nicole said ‘who helped come up with the concept for the positions music video, love u sm ari’ love you so much to, i love you so much more” she paused, she loved this story,

“um this is actually a really funny story, dave and i had been going back and forth on several different concepts, and i couldn't, like... marry one... i couldn't really, like, really commit to one, i wasn't 100% sold. and it was missing a certain element of empowerment. and i kept, you know, trying to think of things that would make it more impactful cause i wasn't loving what we had...”

“anddd then me and harry were on this huge hike, and he just turned to me and was like, ‘what if you were the president?’ which was like, not at all fitting cause i was dying and complaining the whole time. but i was like,” she tried to imitate a shocked face through her smile and laughed 

“and when i called dave he was like ‘oh... kay, ill call you guys back’ and had the whole production team redo everything, and i had mimi pull completely different outfits and we completely started over cause that idea was what i was, craving and missing. and i was like, wow, thats so perfect” she smiled, shrugging her shoulders, “so yeh, honorary directing credit to harry styles, if you liked that”

“this is from @borderlinevinyl, who said ‘how much of the album was recorded at your little home studio?’ ummm..” she sang, looking off camera in thought, everything in quarantine had honestly just blurred into one so she was struggling to remember what exactly she recorded where,

“um... a lot of it was... i think i did parts of everything here and parts of things at tommy's i know i did, um, the final chorus ad-libs for positions at home” she began listing in her head, “i know i did all of off the table at home... i know i did the final chorus of my hair at home because we- i-” oops. she had to control the laugh threatening to leave her lips at the lack of subtlety in her correction

“-i got out of the shower and he was like ‘oh your whistles are really here right now’, and i was like y’know what... yeahh they are aren’t they” she laughed as she squinted her eyes and recited that part of the conversation, even trying to imitate his deeper accent.

she had been singing in the shower - as she always did - and harry joining her never seemed to stop her from belting out any whitney or old one direction classic she wanted to. he would even join in sometimes and they'd end up with their own mini concert, dancing around naked, shampoo and conditioner bottles in hand singing their hearts out to everything from high school musical to nicki minaj to fleetwood mac.

while it felt like too bold of statement to make as she truly revelled in and enjoyed everything they did together, showering with him was truly one of her favourite’s. whether it was steamy shower sex that had all glass surfaces in the room fogging up or letting loose and dancing and singing under the pouring water, every moment felt so intimate and sacred. it truly made her feel like they were they only people in the world. 

of course he would claim she was out singing him every time she whistled and would jokingly try to replicate the note but he was truly just in awe off the sounds that came from her mouth (in all senses of the word;)

"-and so i opened ‘my hair’ and just randomly did that” she continued, “um what else did i do here, i did the a lot of the backgrounds and ad-libs for 34+35 here, um, obvious was done at home, a lot of six-thirty was done at home”

caught in her own thoughts she only realised she had probably been droning on for too long when she caught scooters eye across the room and with a blush she shook her head as if to clear it, “this is an annoying answer, everything was kind of all over the place but i did a lot, a lot, a lot of the vocals for the album at the house" she finally finished the long answer, moving on quickly as she realised she didn't have long until the premiere and she wanted to answer as many of the questions as possible.

“ok, second last question from hannah, ever- @everdxystxless, im sorry i don't know how to pronounce that” she laughs looking up at the camera with wide eyes, not sure how exactly how she was supposed to go about pronouncing the username, 

“im sorry, um, but anyway she say’s ‘ari baby, how do you feel about harry getting to do a movie with florence pugh, we know your a big fan of hers, ps. i love you so much!’ well hannah, i love you too” she replies, as she thinks back to when harry first introduced the two, after she had gotten over the initial fangirling, the pair became amazing friends. florence struck ariana as such a genuine, loving person and they shared the same dry sense of humour. plus ariana might of been just a little obsessed with her accent - not that she would ever admit that and scare the girl off.

“and... um, yeah, it literally, made me beyond happy, i was fully like, fangirling when i met her the first time” she laughs as she plays with her hair, “she honestly, probably was like, ‘who the fuck is this girl? what is she doing?’”ariana imitated, a faux scared/weirded out look on her face, playing the part of a mildly pissed off florence - which she luckily had never been on the receiving end of, “im sure i was being the opposite of subtle about it but, no, she really truly is the sweetest, kindest, most beautiful, talented human being” she emphasises, the thought of any news outlets of fan’s trying to spin a ‘jealousy’ story about this making her internally role her eyes,

“midsommar is, like, one of my all time favourite movies, and she's amazing in it, and harry’s like so fucking lucky its crazy. so yeah, thats insane”

"...so yeah... thank you so much! this was so much fun!” ariana exclaimed as she wrapped up the Q&A, smiling wide at the camera, she knew her fans were going to love the music video and she couldn't wait for them to watch it, plus interacting with them in this way always made her happy.

“i love you guys, i miss you” she reminded, “i am so appreciative of everything you've done for this album, for these singles, for this music. i hope that, um, that this makes you super happy, i hope it makes you smile...we had so much fun shooting it and um, the girls are so fantastic, so i hope you love this and i hope you love the deluxe!” 

ariana didn't know how many more ways she could say thank you and express her gratitude but she still had over a minute and a half so she’d have to come up with something, even if it meant she’d sound like a broken record

“i am so thankful for everything and for the love that you've shown this music i cant even begin to articulate it properly so, thank you! i appreciate it so much” she breathed out all in one, “but anyway, the video should be starting soon, so... i hope you like it, don't refresh! it’ll be here soon... i promise... just don't refresh” she urged dramatically, she was really dragging this out, “but yeh” she got out through laughs “the video should be starting anytime now, i love you guys” she blew a kiss to the camera before moving as close to the lens as possible “byee”.

favorite thing about them: i love how completely earnest he is. this man comes back from his fake suicide european vacation with his heart on his metaphorical sleeve and starts talking about the truth constantly. the way he talks about phoenix to other people too.. he has his values and the things he loves and he absolutely WILL NOT shut up about them but in a very restrained way. (i would say. i would say that this aspect of klavier is absolutely inspired by edgeworth and i really love that. u can tell teenage klavier got to idolize the new and improved edgeworth and it worked out for him)

least favorite thing about them: i mean the running away to europe thing is kind of a sticky point right. also the being a man

favorite line: oh i mean he has so many iconically stupid lines. that time in aa1 where he's like "you make a mockery of the court, wright! take off your badge 🙄 actually also take off the rest of your clothes" what the fuck man

brOTP: ever platonic relationship edgeworth has is the most important thing in the world to me so honorary mentions to ema and gumshoe and kay and everyone BUT edgeworth having friendly relations with klavier is something that gets me every single time. edgeworth looks at klavier and sees him when he was younger and klavier looks at edgeworth and sees kristoph but better and slowly they start to see each other as the people they actually are, not just who they remind each other of..

random headcanon: i think he says swear words actually and unlike phoenix does not make a concentrated effort to stop swearing around teenagers. they all find this incredibly entertaining.
