assigning marvel heroes engineering majors (1)
i tried to write this so it makes sense even if you don't know much about engineering!! this post has my headcanons for peter parker, steve rogers, tony stark, and clint barton!!
as a preface, i am very aware that most of the marvel heroes would not in fact be in school for engineering even in an alternate universe. unfortunately, my fixation on both superheroes and engineering knows no bounds.
please feel free to ask me any questions about eng or for further explanation my reasons for these picks!! i am only in one type of eng but know many people in other disciplines so hopefully i'll be able to answer :)))
Peter Parker - Mechanical & Biomedical
I truly, truly believe the correct peter parker engineering take depends on what portrayal of spiderman you are looking at. like tobey's spiderman? would not touch biomed with a pole let alone mech. ... that peter parker is so far from engineer...... i dont even know where i would put him. materials? pls send your opinions if you have them.
BUT MCU, tom holland, spiderman would definitely definitely be in mechanical & biomedical. i actually got this from an irl friend, so if you see this somehow pls say hi LMAO
mechanical is one of the most common streams of eng and, while absolutely not something i ever want to touch, is really neat. it centers around keeping things in motion (contrary to civil engineering where if something is moving you're in trouble). it applies physics in really cool ways which i imagine would be a draw to peter just on the sole basis of personal interest. mech also plays with materials as it explores elasticity, deformation, fractures, yield strength, and other materials things i have blocked out LOL. when i think of that aspect i feel like it matches really well with the designed suit, the webs, and, if you listen to the science jargon he throws around in the movies, some of his prior knowledge.
biomedical engineering is actually used by some (the insane) as a gateway into med school. it covers human anatomy and genetic engineering (radioactive spider????). i do not believe peter would do med school too (because that student debt tho) but i also can't imagine him not trying to apply what he learns to helping others. i am personally partial to applying engineering principles to physiology and i can just imagine him implementing his mechanical knowledge into making prosthetics. if i had the brain power for this degree i would love to do that.
Steve Rogers - Civil Engineering
.... listen. steve rogers would fight a war before sitting in an hour lecture about dirt. i know this and acknowledge this wholeheartedly. HOWEVER,,,, I have a friend in civil with a special interest on sustainable design and you cannot, cannot tell me that isn't steven rogers coded.
civil engineering is not architecture, like at all, which i think is a common misconception if you don't know engineering well ( totally understandable!) unfortunately, i don't think civil caters to his artistic side that well but as someone who likes art but only does it as a hobby next to eng, i think thats okay.
civil engineering is kind of the mother to environmental engineering in the sense that they both look into wastewater treatments, geology, and even environmental planning (in some cases) but civil will also go into more detail with structural components and design of buildings. you'll find civil engineers involved in every building being made and in every town council ensuring clean drinking water and working sewage systems. typically they specialize into one or the other but shhhh ignore that for this post.
what i am trying to say here is that this would give steve a shit ton of wiggle room which i think he would use to help both the environment and people. paying engineers is expensiveeee especially for qualified, capable ones. i think steve would find deep satisfaction in working either for free or for the bare minimum cost (not that you should - know your worth :) ) and i think that he would actively use his work to call out designs that endanger communities or their environments.
this man knows his local engineering ethics code and WILL call someone out.
Tony Stark - Engineering Physics
when i started writing this section i thought it was going to be the easiest but unfortunately i did in fact have to phone a friend. tony stark is THE engineer so narrowing him down to one discipline felt impossible. my friend suggested engineering physics so i went with that.
the thing is eng phys is THE engineering degree. it is wonderful because you look at almost every thing mech, elec, and comp related (will explain more below) without specializing too greatly. it is also difficult because you don't specialize. for tony stark, who did not have to go into that internship grindset mentality, it would all be net positives.
to make the suit i immediately knew tony needed to have an extremely good knowledge on BOTH electrical (circuitry, coding, wires, magnetism, fun stuff) and mechanical (explained in peter's section!!). i was considering a double major but then was stumped because i love my elec and mech friends but they have no desire to produce a new element and also... creating an arc reactor??? plus AI's??? while likely related to software, it he would have bare minimum had to have had a good computer engineering (kind of how it sounds, engineering related to building and using computers and components of computers, lots of overlap w/ elec) background.
to wield the amount of science knowledge tony stark has an be able to apply it in an engineering context he would either have to be a genius (which like canonically he is so yknow) or take every course offered to engphys students (and some).
i think as a student he would have also enjoyed that not having to specify aspect. i imagine him always in the pursuit of knowledge. yay eng physics!!!
Clint Barton - Materials Engineering
If you've read the reasonings for some of the characters above you have likely thought to yourself "wow, such clear arguments, time must have been put into this" which like yes but also no because for this decision i am going exclusively on vibes.
materials focuses on, well, materials. it looks at both composition and properties (plus how composition effects properties). my friends in matls tell me its pretty research heavy which doesn't really fit with clint, i am aware. but every person i have met from this faculty i am convinced would get along with him.
I KNOW THIS ISN'T GREAT REASONING. i think that engineering would always be second to other things or interests in his life (even when he's a student) but I think the promise of a stable job and the hypothetical applications are really interesting. matls and mech can be surprisingly similar and i think he would find more satisfaction in manipulating materials to better fit his goals than in being stuck within predefined constraints.
plus, imagine creating a new material for like the tensile strength of your bow. incredibly cool
I'm thinking i'll work on doing more of these as i find the time!! i definitely have a few ideas for other characters, i just need to figure out how to articulate my reasonings haha.
if you have any ideas or shared interest in engineering and superheroes please let me know!! i have also been recently into the bat family, as you could probably tell by my reblogs, and am thinking of doing a version with them also!!

I’m dreading the third game of Spiderman might kill off Harry :/ either he’s goblin (solo or probably along with daddy-o) and dies a la Hero Sacrifice. Or kept comatose and in the end with grim results the decision is to pull the plug on him. idk I feel Harry’s fate is doom and gloom. But they could have killed Harry at the end of this sequel giving a strong motivation for Norman to be the Goblin and hatred for Spider-Man…yet they didn’t. idk rambling thoughts. What do you think?
Tumblr media
Personally i can see both options. I saw someone in the tags of my last headcanon post say that it wouldnt make sense to save him from death in this game only to kill him in the next. On some level i get that, why wait when you could do it now?
I have two worst case scenarios in my head:
Harry wakes up from his coma w amnesia a la the third Tobey Maguire movie. Hes unaware of Pete being Spider-Man and Peter, thinking hes protecting Harry, wont tell him. This may cause a rift in their friendship when Harry finds out - or if Norman ends up going goblin and dies - Spider-Man is to blame in Harrys eyes and he'll go after him then. To me this is a tired trope of Harry getting an intense hatred for Spidey and wanting to kill him over his father. It always felt out of character for me and i truly TRULY hope they dont go this route.
Harry becomes the Kobold. In the comics, Kobold is essentially Harrys way of making the Green Goblin a good guy. If he still wants to fight by Peters side, he'll find a way to do it. Kobold would make a lot of sense to me personally, as it kind of continues their dynamic from this game. Then at the end theres a heros sacrifice to be made and Harry goes for it despite Peters protests. This would be lazy to me too though because he essential already did the heros sacrifice in this game. Seems like theyd just want us to have more time with him to love him even more, just to make losing him hurt worse. I wouldn't put it past an intrepid writer to think they could make it work, but it just seems lazy to me.
Actual best case scenario for me though? Harry wakes up as the g-serum is being injected. Hes against being his dads experiment all over again so he runs and finds Peter. Hes not aware of his pseudo-retirement, he just goes straight to the place thats always been his safe haven; Peters home. He asks Peter to hide him from his dad. Tries to explain everything but hes exhausted and frantic. Peter agrees and they take him into hiding.
Norman, ever the expert deflector, doesnt see this as a failing on his part. Hes convinced spider-man had something to do with his son escaping so he puts out a hit on him. Hes ready, willing, and able to capture and kill at least one of the two spider-men it doesnt matter. We see him pardon Wilson Fisk for this job, and when Fisk cant do it, he has to. Normans going to go Goblin. I know it, i can feel it in my bones.
Miles asks Peter to get back in action and he does. Fisk, plus potentially Otto again, plus this brand new villain in town is too much for any one person to handle. Heres where i see Harry becoming a "Guy In The Chair" for Peter like Ganke is for Miles. Two Guys in the Chair helping the spider-men is definitely better than one. I could also see Harrys goblin powers start to emerge but he keeps pushing them down. Last time he gave into power it didnt end well for anyone.
In an effort to not write out the entire plot of the game as i see fit (because itd be long and there are so many moving pieces and characters and IDEK WHERE THEYRE GONNA PUT SILK IN-), i think if Harry does take on the cowl he'll be doing so against his father. I think i see Harry becoming Goblin/Kobold to fight against Norman and ultimately try to help Peter/Miles. This is where i see Harry either accidentally killing Norman or Norman killing his son (and of course, blaming Spider-Man)
There is also room, in my mind, to bring back Venom a la Lethal Protector/Agent Venom. But tbh if they do, i would much rather Venom go to Eddie Brock or Flash Thompson. But thats just the separate Venom Fangirl Entity within me.
Ultimately my hope of course is that Harry not die and they dont go down that all too tired and hackneyed trope of Harry growing to hate Peter dor whatever reason. I truly TRULY hope they dont go that route it is just SO tired and lazy. I want them to stay close and loving. Whatever route they go with will be SO MUCH MORE IMPACTFUL if Harry Osborn lives and doesnt make a full 180 on his best friend for no good reason.

i may have fond childhood memories of sam raimi's spider-man trilogy, but i HATE the superiority complex that comes from its fans.
it was already an issue when andrew's spider-man arrived years ago. i remember on facebook we constantly had arguments over which one was the better spidey. well, i still choose tobey but that's more bc i grew up with his movies. even then, i never thought andrew was a bad spider-man, i did still enjoy the first amazing spider-man movie. i had a preference but i was cool with it, unlike everyone else online.
but after tom holland's spidey arrived, it feels like tobey and andrew stans gathered forces to make tom look like a wimp. so many posts here on tumblr make fun of tom's peter for needing an adult's guidance - not just tony's, i mean ANY adult figure at all - or for literally, y'know... CRYING??? when peter parker is FIFTEEN?! and even if he were an adult, everyone is allowed to cry!
they may have teamed up the three spideys canonically, but the only reason why ppl like no way home is tobey and andrew (and their villains). nobody gives a shit about tom. they just find him a little brat that's way too dependent on tony stark, except peter has ALWAYS been himself and not "iron man jr." like everyone loves saying. this is why no way home angers me so much, bc it just disrespects tom's spidey and his universe by taking everything away from him, and throwing in tobey and andrew for fanservice.
honestly, the more years go by, the more resentment i feel towards the sam raimi trilogy and the andrew movies, but especially the former, bc they're treated as sacred and if you prefer tom's spidey, you're going to be harassed both by dudebros and the a/nti tonys on tumblr.
like i'm honestly just sick of seeing tobey and andrew being used as proof that they're the better spider-men, despite the fact that spider-man is a hero with MANY adaptations, so there's not a better one out there. hell, this is why the spider-verse movies exist!

Kiss Me You Fool
PAIRING: TASM!Peter Parker x Reader
WORD COUNT: 1k
NOTES: warning!! major fluff ahead ;)
———
The cold air from the cracked open window gave you a slight chill as you buried yourself deeper into the warmth of your blankets. It was probably around 10 o’clock so it was dark out, and the only light shone in your room was that from the TV playing reruns of Friends. You were only really half listening, your attention more focused on the boy who should be getting here soon.
You lightly chuckled to the characters on the screen, going to reach for your phone when you hear a slight thump outside your window, making you turn your head. At your confusion, you didn’t see anything, which made you get up from your bed, making your legs feel even more cold now since you only had a pair of pajama shorts on. You lifted the window up a bit more, peaking your head out, looking left then right. Just then, a quick flash of red and blue blurred past your vision and you stepped back with a scream.
“BOO!”
“OH MY GOD-” your hands cover your face as you hear your stupid boyfriend laughing manically outside, you still trying to recover from the damn near heart attack you almost had. “You asshole!” you yell. You don’t know how, but he’s hanging upside down, so his head and chest are in full view of the window, the rest of his body covered from the wall. He had already lifted the rest of the window up, so you can go over and lightly smack him on the face.
“Sorry, babe,” he says, but he’s still holding back more laughter, so it’s hard to really believe him.
“Oh shut it, you’re not sorry,” you mumble, glaring at him, but you know full well in a couple minutes you won’t be mad at all because somehow Peter always pulls you back to him. When you think about it, you can’t even truly remember a time where you stayed mad at him for too long, since usually he’s always made up for it or kissed you so many times to the point where you just had no choice but to cave.
“Not really, but if it makes you feel better,” he jokes, poking you in the chest.
“Hey!” you swat his hand away if it were a fly, but he tugs you closer, almost giving you an upside down hug, and you couldn’t lie it was a little weird. You look up from where he’s hanging, seeing a web attached to the ceiling above. “I don’t understand how you do this, don’t you get a head rush?” you trail off, making him reach out to lightly grab your hands.
“Eh, not really. Probably just because of the whole spider thing,” he says. You shake your head, not being able to resist a small smile knowing that even when he does dumb shit it’s still funny. He laughs, “what?”
“You’re a shithead, ya know that?”
Even with the mask on, you can tell he’s grinning, “yeah, yeah, I know that.” You reach forward, gently pressing your hands to the side of his face, inching your fingers to the bottom of the mask. Tugging on it lightly, you pull the mask off his face, making his head pop out and you can finally see him. He’s looking right at you, with a huge smile spread across his face. Your hands hold the railing at the bottom of the window, and you lean forward inches from his face so you can stare back at him.
“What are you thinking,” you ask. His smile becomes more soft, and his hands reach out to hold your face gently on both sides, his thumbs brushing lightly back and forth.
“I’m thinking that you look too beautiful not to kiss right now,” he says softly, but with a slight edge so you know he’s trying to get a laugh out of you.
“Hmm..” you look up, pretending to think, “I don’t know... I don’t really think you deserve it, do you?” He mockingly gasps, bringing one hand to his chest in fake offense.
“Whaatt, I think I do. I just had, pshh,” he blows air out of his mouth, “I just had a really long night, and honestly, the only thing that I was really looking forward to was seeing my amazing, gorgeous, intelligent, funny-”
You finally cave and laugh at the boy, pushing him away, but he pulls you back with an accomplished look on his face.
“What am I wrong?” he pokes fun.
You shake your head, “no of course not, I’m the best you’re ever gonna get.”
“Damn right,” Peter says, nodding his head which makes you break out into more laughter. Watching you smile because of him was probably his favorite thing in the world, and honestly he couldn’t think of any place he’d rather be right now than with you. “Now are we gonna kiss or what?”
“Upside down?” you question.
“Yeah, why not? It could be cool,” he says with a boyish grin.
“Only a boy would refer to kissing as ‘cool’.”
“Well, I am a man...” he wiggles his eyebrows.
“Oh my god,” you smack your forehead, “Shut up, and kiss me you fool.”
“My pleasure!” he doesn’t waste a second and grabs your face, pulling you in so your lips smack together and you can’t help but grin against his face. It’s a little awkward at first, getting used to the position, but then it’s not too bad and your hands come up to rest on either side of his face. When you pull back to take a breath, he whines sadly, “come back.”
You shake your head with a smile, “you’re a child, get down here so I can kiss you properly.” He crawls in, and you step back to give him a bit more room. No matter how many times he does it, it doesn’t get any less weird. He jumps on the floor, standing upright so now he towers over you like he usually does.
“Now, where were we?”

Content Warnings: references to Earth-616, spoilers for Spider-Man NWH, mentions of sexism and misogyny. cannon divergence (tony & Nat are alive/Peters are trapped, everyone remembers Peter), smoking. Angst but ends in fluff & mentions of violence, fighting and death (May). Slight Steve slander (sorry) | Female OC (she/her) | unedited & kinda long.
Premise: The group consisting of three versions of Peter Parker and two high school students are in for a treat when they are summoned to meet with current Director of what’s left of S.H.I.E.L.D and the Avengers. Young Peter Parker is all too familiar with having to answer to the one and only Jackie Stark, but could he be prepared for what’s in store when he lands in Avengers Campus. Let’s just say the little spider is gonna know what it’s like to be on time out.
Note: this is part two of an AU where the peters are trapped in the MCU world. Please read part 1 for background info on who the OC is. This does diverge from canon, and may turn into a possible series in the future where I go back in time and do a full story on Jackie and her life.
——————-
When the plane landed on the airstrip, Peter (1) felt his heart start to race. His nerves were starting to get to him and was mentally preparing for what would be waiting for him when they arrive to Jackie’s office.
Jackie Stark was a force to be reckoned with. The woman was a super soldier from the 40s lost in time like Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers. A true genius in chemistry and engineering—a doctor at that, something women during that time were not encouraged to do as it was believed the woman’s place was staying home to care for a man and children. But Jackie Stark was ambitious.
She went through many hardships as one could imagine. Dealing with egotistical men who downplayed her intelligence and talent. Rarely being taken serious—being called names when she stood her ground. Her younger brother, Howard, was always the one being praised while she stood in the shadows—even when it was her tests and calculations that made Howards designs work. Hell, she was the one who was gifted the vibranium to make Steve’s shield.
But history doesn’t tell you that.
Don’t be fooled now. Jackie loved her brother immensely and was the one to clock him if his ego and arrogance got the best of him. She was heartbroken when she woke up 60 years after being captured to find he along with her husband and son were killed just 19 years earlier. And Jackie barely had time to grieve the life she lost when she woke cause she was immediately thrown back into the spotlight and having to be the hero the world saw her to be.
Now here she was 13 years after waking up from a cryogenic coma as the Director of the Avengers & what was left of S.H.I.E.L.D following it’s fall in 2014. Fury was off planet—helping with the Skrulls, and couldn’t keep track of everything happening on Earth. So after cleaning up what happened with Thanos, Fury passed the mantel to the woman who was the right choice to lead.
After being hidden in the shadows for so long.
And boy was shit hitting the fan the moment Jackie Stark took her position. Wanda had unconsciously taken a whole town under her control, there were rumors of what the Loki that escaped in 2012 was up to, Clint was dealing with his Ronin drama, some mysterious rings belonging to a man named Shang-Chi had sent a beacon, & finally Peter was being accused of Quentin Backs’ murder which then led to the appearance of multiversal villains.
It was a lot for the Director.
So Peter was naturally shaking in his shoes by what her reaction would be now that he had seemed to put the icing on the cake on a shit show. Unbuckling his seatbelt, he casted a quick nervous glance to Mj and saw she was also looking a bit nervous. The others unclasped their seatbelts and followed Happy off the plane onto the airstrip. There was already a car waiting for them and they piled in with Happy in the drivers seat.
“So does Jackie know about them, Happy,” Peter gestured to the others seated behind him in the far back. Ned had taken the passenger seat while Mj and Peter (1) sat in the middle, the other versions taking camp in the far back.
Happy started the car, “Can’t really tell ya, kid. She didn’t say much on the phone—just to get you and everyone involved to the compound. Strange either called her or she saw something and called him—that’s when she called me.”
“Dammit, Strange,” Peter (1)s shoulders deflated. His head perks up a bit, “is there anyone else here?”
“I know Tony is,” that seemed to give Peter a little hope. “Nat is off helping Clint in New York and recruiting that young girl. Banner is helping Wong figure out what’s up with those Rings—and Thor is off God knows where in space with the Guardians.” Happy pauses to think, “I think Wanda is here. Jackie finally tracked her down and is trying to get Secretary Ross to call off Wandas arrest—I think she might be in a meeting with him right now actually.”
That just made Peter (1) deflate again. Hearing Jackie was in a meeting with Ross was not really good news. Especially if the man brings up what just happened in New York.
“Who’s Secretary Ross again?” Peter (3) raises his hand from the back.
“He’s the dude that was involved with all the Accords stuff,” Peter (1) replied, leaning his head against the window to watch the passing scenery. “And a very important dude at that.”
The car ride was quick and quiet. They passed two smaller buildings and the quinjet pad before pulling up to the parking lot in front of the main large building with the Avengers logo on it. They all piled out, with Happy leading them inside and the group couldn’t help but stop at he scene in front of them.
The building was buzzing with life. People were running with briefcases, speaking into earpieces, and conversing at tables while very large screens were mounted on the walls across the reception desk. News coverage was on at least two of them—already breaking the story of the semi-destroyed Statue of Liberty.
There was another monitor showcasing the status of Avengers with their pictures. Peter could see that his name, Nat, Rhodey, Banner, Strange, Sam, Bucky, T’Challa, Shuri, Okoye, Danvers, Thor and the Guardians were all listed as active and highlighted green. Tony, Jackie, Wanda, Scott, Hope, & Clint were all listed as inactive with their pictures highlighted red. Below the Avengers were a list of names underneath the bolded; Newest Recruits. The names were Xi Shang-Chi, Joaquin Torres, Yelena Belova, and Kate Bishop.
Happy strolls up to the reception desk, while the group remains a few paces behind him just staring at the monitors. “Hey, Tina,” he greets, “I need to get a couple visitor passes and Peter here,” he gestures to Peter 1, “needs to get his badge. Could you also let Director Stark know we’ve arrived.” The woman smiles and gets to work.
“What are the names for the passes?” Happy lists the names and gives an ‘I know, we’re working on it,’ when Tina becomes perplexed by hearing the two men behind Happy were also named Peter Parker. They all take their pictures for the pass and Tina hands them to each with explaining that an alarm will go off if they enter a section they are unauthorized to enter. “Tenth floor,” she tells Happy gesturing to the elevator.
Happy thanks her, as do the others and they make their way through the hallway next to the desk towards the elevator. Happy presses tenth floor, the highest level, and they all watch through the glass windows as they ascend. At first Peter thought the door would open and they’d automatically be in Jackies office, but instead it reveals another long corridor with a golden colored door at the end.
As the group begins to walk the hall, the door opens and a wheelchair bound Tony Stark emerges. Despite making a full recovery, he still had trouble walking and there were a few patches of burn marks on him. “If it isn’t the man of the hour!” The man is smiling, which makes Peter (1) even more dreadful. “On this episode of Peter screws the pooch,” now Peter (1) was having flashbacks to 2016. “—Jackie told you to call her if things went sideways and what happened, things went sideways and you didn’t call her.”
“Tony—.”
“Ah!” Tony lifts a finger to stop him. “You don’t have to explain to me, kid. The boss is who that’s for.” He watched Peter (1) gulp and the man sighed, brining his chair closer so he was in front of the boy. “She hasn’t given any sign of anger—and you know that’s when it gets scary when she doesn’t say anything. You’re just gonna have to be upfront an honest, Peter.” Tony leans back to notice the group behind him. “Maybe you’re new friends can help.”
Tony wheels to the side so he could get a better look at the two men. “You must be the spider-guys,” Tony glanced over the Peters. “That’s still weird to wrap my head around. Tony Stark,” he extends his hand and shakes the older Peters hand first before the taller one.
“Nice to meet you, Tony.” Peter (2) greets. “We’ve heard a lot about you. Glad to see you’ve made a full recovery.”
Tony thanks him, “Yeah it’s been a ride. I honestly still use this thing to get Pepper from making me go to the store.” Tony greets Mj, Ned, before turning to Happy. “We still on for Friday? Pep, Morgan, and Rhodey will be joining.”
“Sure thing, boss.” Happy salutes. Tony looks at Peter (1), face becoming solemn.
“I’m sorry about your aunt, Peter.” Peter face falls, but was appreciative for Tonys words. “Jackie will probably set you up here for the time being. But if you feel like you need to get away from suits and spandex wearers for a little bit, give me a call and we can get you to lake house. Morgans been asking about when you’ll come around.”
That makes Peter smile. “Sure thing, Tony. Thank you.”
Tony gives the group one last look over. “Well I best be off thenboss wants to see you, can’t keep her waiting— and I need to get an update on everything your little electric friend stole from the warehouse,” the Peters all look at each other. “Which reminds me, did you get the arc reactor taken from Happys place?” He waits for an answer, but the nervous reactions from the three was enough of an answer. Tony drops his head with a sigh, “Great, now some guy from across a universal pond has my life’s work. Oh well, what’s done is done.” He starts directing the wheelchair away giving one last goodbye. “Good luck with the boss, kid. Hope I don’t find you on the board of the fallen anytime soon.”
“Bye, Tony,” Peter waves, dropping his hand with a groan when the mans back is to him. Happy pats his shoulder and nudges for him to the door.
They approach the golden door with a intercom and keypad mounted on the side below a plague reading, ‘Jaqueline E. ‘Jackie’ Stark, Director.’ Peter noticed a golden outline of an eagle beside the name along with the Avengers symbol next to it.
Happy presses the ‘*’ button on the keypad. There was a buzzing sound before the door unlocks and Happy pushes it open to reveal the very large space that could almost pass as a penthouse. There was glass paneling all around making the room illuminate from all the sunlight entering. The space itself had two levels with a floating staircase in the middle back of the room that connected the ground level to a glass compartment.
Mounted on the long wall where the door was were pictures ranging from the Howling Commandoes, to one of Jackie, Steve, Bucky, Howard, and Peggy. Then there was the original seven of the Avengers taken after Battle of New York. Some pictures had just Jackie and one of the Avengers and at the end of the wall was a more recent one of all the active Avengers taken after defeating Thanos.
Peter eyes traveled the space in awe, as did the others behind him, seeing all the gadgets and cases decked on the sides. The most distinct case to catch their eyes was the compartment displaying the original wing pack Jackie designed and created in the 1940s. It was ancient technology compared to the modern day they were used to, but it was still a beautiful sight to see the Eagles first set of wings. The vest to attach the wings was leather, the wings itself were small compared to later designs. The little leather goggles Jackie wore with them hung on a little mantle beside the pack.
Beside it was another glass display of the wing pack Jackie made after waking from her coma and was the one she used to defeat Stane, Vanko, and Loki. She ended up retiring that wing pack after joining the Avengers, updating it as the years went on. Beside that one was the wings from 2013-2015 and then the destroyed wings from 2016 Steve had ripped off her during the fight in Siberia.
It eventually led to the creation of the Iron Eagle. A golden suit similar to Tony’s Iron Man Mark 85 equipped with wings, an arc reactor and nanotechnology. It was something they created together after the Accords and was ready by the time Thanos came. It was her current suit of armor when active as an Avenger.
“Woah,” Peter (3) traveled over to the displays, admiring the different variations of the wings. “That’s so cool.” Peter (2) also went over, reading over the plaques mantled on marble stands keeping the compartments secured.
Ned had looked out the windows on the opposite side while Mj and Peter (1) slowly walked down the middle between the couches and tables on the ground level. The group met up at the end and approached the long table in front of the staircase leading to the glass floating office. It was then they were able to hear sounds coming from inside. The two doors leading to the office were wide open, and they could see from below a blue hologram that made them all stop short of their movements.
They couldn’t see Jackie, but given the back of the black chair was facing them it was safe to assume the super soldier was in fact seated at the desk.
“I’m not going to argue with you anymore on this matter, Stark,” Secretary Ross’ voice was firm and full of annoyance. “Wanda Maximoff brainwashed an entire community against their will for her little lost romance—she needs to be detained and evaluated.”
There was a huff from the chair in front of the hologram. “Wanda was dealing with grief and loss, Mister Secretary. There was emotional turmoil you are failing to realize and she needs the help of her friends here—not be locked up like some animal.”
“That isn’t your call, Jackie—.”
“Yes it is,” the woman’s voice became hard, done with negotiating. “I am in charge of what happens to my teammates, Ross. We are an independent agency now, and your little boo boo of ordering Rhodey to arrest Steve, Nat, Sam, Wanda, and Vision when you knew a genocidal alien was on his way to do destruction proves you don’t have what it takes to be ordering the Avengers around. The U.N saw to that and realized their mistake with the Accords which is why they chose me—me, Ross—to oversee this team.”
“And now look at what’s happening,” Ross throws his arms up. “Look around. We got a town full of people still dealing with trauma after being mentally held against their will for over a week. That Ronin guy is back in New York,” Jackie gives an amused laugh—obviously knowing something Ross doesn’t. “—And you’re little spider-kid just destroyed half of Liberty Island. Not to mention all he did in Europe just last week. What are you going to do about that?” Chills form on Peters body, cursing in his mind by the news Ross knows about New York.
Jackie makes a sound and Peter can only imagine what her face must look like hearing Ross run his mouth. There’s a little cloud of smoke that leaves the chair, before she speaks. “I’ve sent resources to Westview including the Stark Relief Foundation, counselors, financial aid to the residents, and resources to help rebuild all that was destroyed in the little altercation with S.W.O.R.D—which,” her tone thickens as if she had been waiting to go off on Ross. “—Let me remind you, Ross, the reason Wanda even did what she did was because S.W.O.R.D took Visions body and illegally dismantled him to get back online. They had no authorization, no clearance—they weren’t even supposed to have Vision!” Her voice raises with each second.
“Vision was created by Tony, Banner, and myself with the help of Thor. It was Tony’s A.I system programmed—his work. If his body was going to go anywhere, it was going to be with us.” There was movement in the chair, looking like Jackie was leaning forward. “S.W.O.R.D had absolutely no right to take him and do what they did so if you’re gonna point the blame at anyone then it better be at Hayworth, Thaddeus.”
“Damn,” Peter (3) whistled under his breath. He mentally prayed he’d never be on the receiving end of Jackie Starks wrath—but that prayer might be short lived.
“And you better let S.W.O.R.D know to lawyer up cause I’m coming at them for everything. The stolen vibranium, the stolen tech, the A.I system—Vision,” she emphasized. “Going against his will and making him become the weapon he didn’t want to be—I’m making sure they know you don’t mess with the Avengers.”
“What’s going after S.W.O.R.D going to do, Jackie? Hayworth is detained—as are several members of the agency—the white Vision is out there somewhere. There does not need to be a war against you two.”
Jackie scoffs, “Oh but there needs to be, Ross. Because Vision was an Avenger—my friend, and I’m not letting his memory be treated like a weapon. I’m not gonna let Wanda be subjected to that.” Jackie pauses and another puff of smoke leaves the chair. “Wanda stays with me and that’s final, Ross. I’m done arguing on with you on that—have the U.N get involved I don’t care, but she stays here where it’s safe and has her family.
“As for the Ronin situation, Clint and Nat are on it with our two newest recruits—one of which just accepted last night. So you can stop worrying about that. You have enough wrinkles to show you’re stressed—anymore and you’re gonna start looking like Odin.” Ross makes a sound of offense, but Jackie ignores it. It makes the group quietly laugh, but its cut off when she switches topics.
Another cloud of smoke followed by a strained sigh. “On the subject of Spider-Man, let’s just say my two o’clock is here and I’ll give you an update at a later time.”
“Jackie…”
“You can call me later for an update but I’ll probably put you on hold—like Tony I like to watch the line blink,” she presses some buttons on the side of the chair before adding, “And that’s Director Stark to you, Mister Secretary.” With the final press the hologram image of Ross disappears.
Silence fills the room. A very tense silence that has Peter (1) stiffen when it’s suddenly broken by a slow—almost mocking, clapping sound. Everyone with the exception of Happy stiffens at the sight of the chair slowly starting to spin. The clapping continues and soon Jackie Stark is revealed to the group with a cigarette in her mouth and face reading mixed emotion.
Her claps seize, hand coming up to remove the cigarette after taking a deep drag. It’s hard to read what she was feeling, and the smoke leaves her mouth. “Well, well, well,” her voice is low, tone blank making the heat rise in Peter (1). “If it isn’t the three spiders who’ve been causing quite the mess in my hometown.”
Everyone stays silent, watching as Jackie lifts from her chair to slowly exit the office and descend the stairs. “You know,” she makes an unhumorous laugh. “I would’ve thought being my age in this overextended life I’m so blessed to have,” sarcasm spilled from her mouth, “That I would’ve seen it all.” Her heels clacked against the tile of the steps, making the sound ten times louder due to the silence filling the area. Its hard not to shudder—her entire aura reeks of power and the suit she wore screams girl boss.
A super soldier girl boss at that.
“But imagine my surprise—,” she goes on, and her eyes land on Peter (1)—making the boy freeze under her gaze. “—when I turn on the tv,” she takes another step, “—and see that the eighteen year old vigilante Tony and I took under our wing is being accused of murder. And it’s not just any murder, it’s the guy who I warned him about going after when we had just talked on the plane a week prior. I would’ve expected him to do what I asked and call me—,” Jackies voice hardens causing Peter to shudder. “—but no, he doesn’t. Then when the charges are dropped and he’s facing slander by the media and the public, I would’ve assumed he’d call me if things were getting out of hand. Throw in the fact he and his friends got rejected from MIT because of the scandal—and he has not one, but two people who could possible call and plead a case—he still doesn’t call. Instead he goes to enlist Doctor Strange to do a magic trick.”
She’s now two steps from the platform. “So Bleeker Street magician performs the trick and what happens? It goes wrong,” she lets out another unhumorous laugh, the sound making everyone feel the tension rising with each second. “It goes terribly wrong in fact—because it goes to shit from there.”
Jackie reaches the bottom step before the stairs cut to a smaller staircase on either side to the ground level. She goes to the railing, overlooking the group briefly—letting her eyes travel over the two Peters. “Do you wanna know how I found out about your little adventure, Peter? What my eyes had to witness when I tried checking in on you after days of radio silence?” She turns back to him, but doesn’t let him answer. “H.O.W.I.E, pull up the footage of the baby monitor protocol from the last three days.”
“Right away, Director Stark.”
Peters blood freezes, face becoming red. There was no backing out of this now. “Y-You still have the baby monitor thing on m-my suit?”
Jackie tilts her head. “Did you not think I wouldn’t implement it again after what happened with Beck?” It was a rhetorical question so he din’t bother answering. Jackie finishes her cigarette and descends the stairs on the left closest to where the group was. She places the bud in the ashtray, “Do you know how worried I’ve been these last forty-eight hours? When you didn’t call me after the whole feds coming to your door I can understand—Happy was there, you had May,” her voice slightly wavered at the end, and Peter had to stop the tears from wanting to form in his eyes.
“You’re lawyer got you off the hook—it was good, you didn’t want to my help and I can understand that.” Jackie takes a step forward so she was directly in front of Peter, and with her heels she was just taller than him by a few inches. Peter shuffles under her gaze when her voice becomes low. “But when you didn’t think to call me after those men from other worlds showed up that is where I’m at a cross with you, Peter Parker.”
“Jackie—.” He tries but she doesn’t let him.
“I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD, PETER!!” The statement echoes around the office, bouncing off the walls. Everyone was frozen, even Happy from his seat on the couch. They all just watched in stunned silence while Jackie Stark made sure Peter understood the hell she had been through not knowing anything. They wanted to step in, but knew it wouldn’t do any good. “I had to watch the footage on the news about what happened at Happys apartment complex not knowing if you survived that explosion. Strange wasn’t answering my calls and it was all because you trapped him in the goddamn mirror dimension—what were you thinking!” He flinches, biting his lip.
Jackies eyes had shined, almost like she wanted to cry by how angry she was and the dread thinking Peter had died. “And you couldn’t even respect me enough to let me know you were alive. If it hadn’t been for Happy calling me from the police station to let me know what happened I would’ve dragged your ass back here so fast you would’ve wished Goblin succeeded.” Hell even Peter 2 & 3 were shitting their pants at that statement. Both felt bad for their alternate counterpart—hoping Jackie would eventually calm down because Peter looked like he was about to break any moment.
“If I hadn’t implanted that monitor I would’ve never known what you were up to—and you’re lucky I didn’t intervene when I should’ve—that I believed you would succeed in your plan because I was this close,” she brings a hand up fast to pinch her fingers. “—I was this close to not caring what happened to those guys and killing them myself if it meant the chaos would end. I wouldn’t have cared if they were cured or not because the damage was done and I wanted you safe.”
“So if these two didn’t show up when they did—,” she points to the two Peters, startling them. “—with the knowledge they had to help and make those cures work, then I would’ve done so. I believed in you three—believed in you.” Jackie had leaned forward when she had went off and straightened her posture the same time HO.W.I.Es voice entered the room.
“Footage is ready, ma’am.”
Jackie doesn’t move her eyes off the boy. “Play it.” The table behind Jackie projects a blue screen similar to how Karen did in the plane. Immediately all eyes are on the screen, witnessing the multiple video clips from Peters suit that recorded from his perspective the chaos unfolding the last several days.
The two Peters moved closer, both in awe and baffled by what they were seeing. Video footage filled the projection. There was a clip of Peter 1 fighting Doc Ock, the fight against Strange, creating the prototype cures in Happys apartment—which led to the death of May. They all had to turn away at that—Peter (1) becoming emotional and having to look at the ground. There was the explosion at the apartment, the lab with all the Peters, and finally the final battle at the Statue of Liberty.
The entire time the footage was playing Jackie kept her eyes on Peter (1). Her face was blank and hands were on her hips. It was not the type of look one wanted to receive from Jackie Stark, and Peter wanted nothing more than to avoid her gaze but was literally frozen in place.
“Now here’s what’s gonna happen,” She finally spoke after the footage ended and H.O.W.I.E closed the projection. All eyes went to her. “I do not want to know why you didn’t call me. I don’t want to know why you felt the need to do what you did and I don’t want to know what all happened—I already have an understanding from the footage,” she lists off her fingers with each point. “—What I care about now is how we go forward from here. All I care about is your safety and how we’re gonna clean this up.”
Peter nods and eventually finds his voice, “Y-yes, Jackie. I understand,” his voice is hoarse and cracks slightly. “I-I’m really sorry.” The boy tried to stop his lip from quivering. “I—I um. I-I’m just really sorry. I-I just wanted to prove myself to you and make you believe I could handle it because it was my mess—and you’ve been dealing with Wanda, the Ronin, and everything I just—.”
She cuts him off by holding up a hand, making him go silent. “Stop. When you start making it your priority to prove to others your capability and not because you believe in yourself then that’s when things get reckless—that is when things get dangerous.” She tilts his chin up with her fingers when he looks down like a mother would to a child.
“Do you think I went through all the shit I did in the forties because I wanted to prove to other people what I could do? Because I wanted to change the opinion they had of me? Even now since waking up from that damn coma and getting pushed aside because of the male heroes around me? No, Peter. I did it because I believed in myself. I wanted to believe I was capable of achieving what I envisioned myself to be. Not because I wanted the arrogant men around me to see my worth. I knew my worth, and if they didn’t see it then that was on them.”
Her voice takes a more softer tone, leaning down a bit so they were eye level. “You need to start believing in yourself and stop feeling like you have to prove to me, or Tony, or any other Avenger that you belong here. I wouldn’t have taken you under my wing if I didn’t believe you did, Peter. I trust you, but you’re still young and that’s why I trusted you to call me if things went sideways because the last thing you need is to lose people close to you and look what happened.”
A noise sounded from Peters throat and he didn’t even realize he was crying until Jackie lifted her hand to wipe away the fallen tears, her own eyes becoming glossy. “Now listen to me, being a hero comes at a cost. And I’m sorry I have been harsh on you, but I want you to understand that I see you like a son, Peter.” His lip quivers and she places a comforting hand on his cheek. “I have grown to love and care for you, like you’re my own. So it hurts me to see you like this. Bloodied and bruised—suffering and in pain. I hate you had to witness first hand the cost that being a hero comes with. Why do you think Tony and I were so harsh on you about Toomes, and why we did everything we could to reverse the snap? This life is hard and full of costs—and we care for you too much to see you have to carry that burden. You wanted to be like us, but we wanted you to be better.”
By now most people in the room were wet-eyed—especially the two other Peters who knew all too well what being a hero could cost. Jackie wipes more fallen tears from Peters cheeks. “So now—because what’s done is done—we’re not gonna let this define you. Okay? We’re gonna take it slow, make sure May gets the proper service she deserves,” she pauses when he lets out another sob. “And we’re gonna make sure these two,” she gestures to the other Peters, “get home safe. From there its baby steps, okay?” Peter nods and Jackie brings him to her. “Now c’mere.”
Peter didn’t hesitate wrapping his arms around Jackie. His head went to her shoulder while her head gently laid on his given the small height difference and Peter bathed in the comfort she was giving him. The emotion that had built finally let out and Peter felt her arms tighten around him. He cried and cried for what felt like hours, feeling like a kid in need of its mother. In need of family.
Her hand came to gently run through his hair and after several moments Peter pulled away. “T-thank you, Jackie. I really appreciate it.”
“You’re welcome, kid.” She sighs, full of exhaustion. “I’m so so happy you’re okay.” She finally gives a smile and Peter returns with a small one.
“I am—,” his voice cracks again. “I am really sorry.”
“I know,” she nods, patting his shoulder and rubbing it affectionally. “We’ll get through this.” The air was slowly dissolving of its tension now that the scolding had concluding. Though everyone was still a little taken aback by what had played out. Jackie straightened her posture, adjusting her dress shirt collar. “So what’s the update with Strange? He didn’t tell me much just that we’ve got some VIP visitors for the next couple days,” she turns to the Peters, walking over the few paces to extend her hand. “Jacqueline Stark, but you may call me Jackie.”
Peter 3 was who she approached first, and honestly the man couldn’t find his voice. Both by his sudden fanboy after learning about her on the plane and for witnessing first hand what can happen if you get on her bad side. “Da-uh hi,” he stutters, taking her hand in his. “I’m Peter—like him, Peter Parker. Nice to meet you, I’m—I’m a big fan.” He lets go of her hand with a smile, “You’re really cool—amazing I should actually say.”
Jackies eyes sparkle with amusement, lips curling up slightly. “You boys already caught up on all there is in this world?” She steps to the left to shake Peter 2s hand. “Didn’t think you’d be able to get through all the hell this planet has gone through in such little time.”
Peter 2 shakes her hand. “We had a little history lesson on the plane—from Karen.” He watchers her mutter an ‘ah.’ “It’s nice to meet you Jackie. I’m also Peter Parker.” He laughs at how ridiculous it had sounded, noticing how Jackie had chuckled a bit. “And I agree with Peter, you’re a pretty amazing person from what we’ve heard—truly inspiring.”
“Thank you,” she nods with gratitude. “It’s been a hell of life—overextended as I mentioned earlier. But this world just seems to always be full of surprises. You boys are just one of many in the long list as you probably heard of.” They both nod, muttering ‘that’s the truth.’
“I’m not gonna lie,” Peter 3 started. “When he first mentioned the Avengers I truly thought you were some band—I thought it was so cool there was a version of me in a band.”
Jackie couldn’t stop the laugh escaping, “Oh how I wish that was the type of band we were. We are a band of some sort, but unfortunately not that type. Although we do have drama and fight a lot where people seem to come and go.” Jackie steps away to tap something on table making a blue hologram screen pop up. “Strange told me he’s working on how to get you two home, but it’s gonna take some time. For the time being we can get you set up here on our east wing—its where our apartments are for Avengers when they are inactive and need a place to stay or just want to hang out for the time being. How does that sound for you two?”
The two look at each other before nodding. “That’s great.” “Yeah-yeah that works cool.”
Jackie nods, tapping away some buttons. “You’ll have access to all the there is in the east wing. There’s a pool and gym on the bottom level. All apartments are equipped with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and laundry area. If you need anything F.R.I.D.A.Y or H.O.W.I.E can help you, all you gotta do is call for them.
“And you,” Jackie suddenly looks to Peter 1. “I’m also gonna get you set up. You don’t have a place at the moment and I wanna keep an eye on you while you’re on time out—no debate,” she cuts him off when he tries to protest. “Baby steps remember? We got things to do before I let you get back into action. Happy you want me to get you a room?”
“If you don’t mind,” he waves from his place on the couch. “I’ll probably need at least a few weeks until I can find a new place.” Peter (1) couldn’t help but cringe, knowing it was his fault Happy lost his home.
“Sounds good,” Jackie hums before looking up at the two teenagers she had forgot were in the room. Her brow rises, “And what about you two? Are you staying at least for tonight or are your families expecting you to be back?”
Ned and Mj freeze, looking at each other and Peter (1). “Uhh,” Mj says. “I can call and ask? They don’t really know we’re here. Happy didn’t tell us on the plane.” Jackie drops her head, mumbling incoherent words.
“H.O.W.I.E.?”
“Yes, ma’am?”
“Have reception know they need to get four rooms available in the east wing—make sure one is close to my residence, and please send word to Mr. Leeds and Miss. Watsons families they will be staying with us tonight to sort out some Avengers level business.” Ned, Mj, and Peter (1) all look at each other with jaws dropped.
“Right away, ma’am.” H.O.W.I.E replies and Jackie finishes up whatever she was typing on the keypad before looking up at the group. “Ned and our Peter will be sharing a room,” Jackie then looks to the other two peters. “You two will share a room. And Mj and Happy will each have their own. I set it to where you boys will be close together cause each floor has two apartments and then Mj you’ll be staying closer to I am.” Jackie steps away, pulling a pair of yellowish gold pair of glasses similar to what Tony always wore from her suit pocket.
She puts the glasses on, gesturing for them to follow her and they all head toward the door. “Where are we going?” Peter (3) asks curiously, glancing one last time at the display cases of her wings.
“Gonna give you all a tour,” she tells them, looking back with a smirk. “Might as well make you all feel at home—for the time being at least.” Jackie taps the side of her glasses and the golden door automatically opens causing the group —minus Happy —to go ‘woah.’
“You have a lot to learn—some people to meet. We don’t have much time so let me be the first to welcome you to Avengers Campus.”

“Having Spider-Man and Spinneret swinging through the street was a common occurrence for the citizens of New York, what was even more common was seeing them run into burning buildings to save the people of their city….”
The trio of Peter, Y/N, and Harry had been looking for the serum for months to no eval. They eventually had to stop looking, every lead they had, every trail and track was dead and dry. No one had seen the serum or whoever took it. And the trio was starting to think no one would ever see it again.
The day had been slow, they should have known better. Y/N and Peter should have known that as soon as the word “slow” came into the conversations.
It was 8:30 at night when the call for the fire department came over Peter’s police scanner about a fire at West Pierre. So many thoughts flowed through Peter and Y/N's head as they swung through the city.
“Doesn’t Sergei and his wife live in West Pierre?” Y/N yelled over to Peter as they swung. Peter gave no response which only caused the two to swing faster down the streets. “We gotta go overhead, we won’t make it in time. It’ll take us forever if we don’t get above street level” Y/N landed on the ground, Peter following her not long after.
“Slingshot?” Peter looked to Y/N for a nod. The two moved to stand next to each other, their arms going to hold each other's side, Peter used his free hand to shoot webs at the corner of the building they had stopped in front of as Y/N anchored them to a light pole. The grip on each other's waist tightened as they both pulled hard on their webs causing them to propel into the air over the next few blocks of buildings.
Pushing off of each other, Peter and Y/N continued to swing off of the taller buildings till they landed in front of their target.
Y/N rushed over to the police officers who were ushering people out of the building.
“Officer, is there anyone else in there?”
The officer nodded frantically, “the residents of floor 19 and 20 still haven’t evacuated. No one can contact them and the stairwells are as hot as hellfire. No one can stay in them long enough to get to floor 19. Everything else below has been taken care of, other than that floors 21 through 22 but those are under renovation so they should be empty”
“Do we know how the fire started?” the officer shook his head. “All that we know is that residents in 18 complained of smoke, so its safe to bet the fire started on 19 at the very least”
Y/N made her way back over to Peter, the two trying to figure out how to get into the building. “Officer say there might still be people on Floor 19 and 20 but everything else is clear”
Peter nodded and he and Y/N started their ascent up the building.
“They still don’t know how the fire started so we have to be careful” Y/N looked to Peter, watching as he looked around the floors.
“Let's start with the north side, see if any windows are opened and work our way over” Peter suggested starting to climb.
It only took a few minutes for them to find an open window, but when they did, they understood why no one could make it up the stairwell. Looking around the floor they noticed the at home lab set up on the floor with stairs leading to the next level.
They’re eyes scanned the room looking for anyone. “Y/N I don’t know how much time we have to search” Peter raised his hand trying to block the heat from his face, the pair moved as much as they could without getting caught up in the fire.
After a few minutes of searching Y/N screamed “PETER!” she jumped over a collapsed ceiling beam “Peter it's Sergei!” she yelled trying to lift the beam off of him. Eventually throwing the beam off of Sergei’s body, Y/N flung his arm over her shoulder carrying him over to Peter. “You take him down to get looked at if Sergei is here Kathy has to be here too.”
“Y/N I think we shou-”
“I am not leaving without her”
“Y/N, look at the warning signs!” Peter huffed, taking Sergei’s weight from Y/N “This is a Class B Chemical fire Y/N! There's nothing more we can do without the department here!”
“Then you go and I’ll stay”
Just as Y/N turned to go back into the flames, Peter webbed her waist pulling her out of the window with him and Sergei as he jumped. Y/N watched in horror as she was pulled from the room, the ceiling slowly caving into the rest of the building.
Landing on the ground Peter set Sergei down before running over to Y/N to stop her from going back into the building.
“STOP! Someone’s still in there!”
Peter said nothing as his grip on Y/N tightened, the two watching as the building came crashing down. Although he couldn’t see her face he felt the sorrow and anguish run down his spine for they both knew that someone was still in the building.
The night passed slowly for the duo. Y/N hadn’t said a word since the building collapsed, in fact if it wasn’t for the fact that she was still swinging herself, Peter would have thought she’d gone catatonic.
Arriving back at their apartment, as soon as they stepped inside Peter ripped off his mask before carefully peeling Y/N's from her face. His hands cradling her face, his eyes searching for something in her.
“Y/N….” he whispered to which he got no response. She just stared back at him, eyes dull, void of anything.
Peter sighed letting his head hang “Common Sweetheart” he led both of them into the bathroom, he sat Y/N down on the toilet grabbing a washcloth, getting it wet from the sink and cleaning off her face. Gently gliding over her features as she continued to stare off.
After cleaning her face, he cleaned off his own before pulling the shower curtain closed and turning it on, letting the water get warm.
“Can you stand for me?” he placed his hands on her shoulders, Y/N eventually stood. Letting Peter help her peel her suit off of her body, he led her over to the shower helping her get in before he peeled his own suit from his body and joined her.
Peter watched as Y/N just stood under the water. Y/N's back was to Peter although he couldn’t see her face, her hands were resting in the crooks on either side of her neck, head was tilted back letting the water run down her face. Coming up behind Y/N, he wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his head on her shoulder. As he did, Peter felt Y/N’s body relax into his, her head falling back onto his shoulder. Her hands fell from her neck to rest over Peter’s arms around her waist. Both had closed their eyes, relaxing into the warmth of each other and the water.
It took a moment for Peter to realize it, but Y/N's body had slowly started to shutter. It wasn’t until the sob left her lips that he turned her body to face him, arms curled around herself letting the sobs rack through her body. Peter just pulled her head to rest on his shoulder, one hand raising up to hold her head and the other falling to the small of her back.
Forcing herself to move her hands from her waist, Y/N placed her hands on Peter’s waist. “Tell….t-tell me that we did the right thing” she sobbed “I could have stayed…I-I-I” her voice shook as she tried to speak “I could h-have sav-”
“Shhh” Peter urgered his hand moving from her head to her neck, lightly rubbing the back of it. “Sweetheart” he kept his face hidden from hers, “....We can’t always save everyone….”
“Sergei…he- he’s gonna hate me”
“No, No he’s not. Sweetheart, you can’t do this to yourself” he kept his face hidden for the fact that if Y/N saw his face. The sorrow that filled it, he knew she would never let herself live this down.
Sobs were all that continued to fill the room, as the two spiders stood under the steady stream of water.
“Having Spider-Man and Spinneret swinging through the street was a common occurrence for the citizens of New York, what was even more common was seeing them run into burning buildings to save the people of their city…. But rarely was it seen that Spider-Man would have to hold back Spinneret as she screamed to go back into the building.”
_________________________________________
Weeks came to pass, and no one had seen Spinneret since the fire, and it was the buzz of the city with the Daily Bugle being no help. Headlines reading:
“Menacette Leves Spider-Menace To Care for City Alone?!”
“City Questions Safety Under Spinneret’s Protection”
“Fire Results in Death, Spinneret Fails City?!”
And so on and so forth, the articles kept coming and Peter kept refusing to give Jameson photos for his smear campaign. So he was put on temporary leave, which he was perfectly fine with if he was benign honest. It gave him more time to watch over Y/N, not that she fully needed it but ever since the fire she was just different…
She was more jumpy at home, and overly cautious in the lab when running tests and research. Not to mention Sergei understandably hadn’t been to work since the fire either, so not being able to make sure he was okay had started to weigh on Y/N.
It wasn’t until Harry announced to the office that the funeral for Kathy would be happening the next week to let everyone know in case anyone wanted to give their support and condolences to Sergei. Hearing the news Y/N had rushed off to her office, quickly closing the door and blinds, hiding herself from the prying eyes of her coworkers.
Throwing off her lab coat her hands began to shake, her mind just thinking back to the fire. The tune of “Mary had a little Lamb” started to fill the office, Y/N just tried to do anything to distract herself. So caught up in her humming Y/N failed to hear Peter enter her office, he had walked in front of her ushering her to her desk chair. Crouching in front of her, taking her hands in his, trying to stop the shaking Peter began to hum the nursery rhyme with Y/N.
His hands gently squeezed hers, eventually the humming died down till it was only Peter lightly hummed the tune before slowly coming to a stop as well. Waiting in silence he said nothing, waiting only for Y/N to speak when she was ready.
Taking a breath Y/N hung her head, gaze falling upon the floor.
“I don’t know what I’m gonna do….and I feel horrible for even saying that when Sergei is….. I wanna go…. But…. Pete if I go I’m gonna….” she stopped herself sitting up, sniffling and wiping her nose.
“Then we’ll go, and as soon as you wanna leave or… or feel like you can’t do it anymore we’ll leave. Okay?” Peter’s hands rested on her legs, one of his thumbs lightly rubbing over her knee. Y/N could only nod in response. Standing from his stop Peter helped Y/N to stand, pulling her into a quick hug followed by a peck on the cheek. Y/N gave a small smile in response, resting her head against Peters, only to be broken apart by the ring of her office phone.
“Research and Lab Testing, this is Y/N?” she cleared her throat as she answered.
“Hey, are you okay?” Harry’s voice came through the line.
Letting out a sigh, Y/N pushed a few strands of hair out of her face, sniffling once more “Yeah Harry… I’m fine…”
“I saw you rush out of the lab, so I figured I’d check in.” Y/N nodded “I don’t know if you heard this or not, but I gave everyone the rest of the day off…the board can chew my ass out for it later but I think everyone deserves it. Especially with everything that's happened in the past few weeks.”
The nods just continued, “Okay”
“Also” Harry quickly added “MJ wanted to know if you and Peter wanted to come over tonight? She has some wedding details to go over with the two of you, and I figured after that we could all watch a movie or go out to dinner.”
“Umm… I’ll talk with Peter about it” she hummed, continuing to sniffle a bit. “I’ll call you later Harry”
“Alrighty. I’ll talk to you then” Handing up the phone Y/N placed her hands on her hips, staring at the phone before turning to Peter.
“Is everything okay?” Peter raised his eyebrow
Y/N nodded “Yeah… MJ wanted to know if we could come over tonight, wedding stuff.”
He tilted his head slightly “Do you wanna go?”
“... We should… take a break for a bit, from everything… Take a wine break” over the mess that was her desk, she signed before switching off the desk lamp “I’m gonna hate myself for leaving this much paperwork, but I can’t..” she turned grabbing her coat off of the back of her office chair. Putting on her coat she turned to Peter. “Do you wanna let Harry know we’ll be over?”
Peter hummed in agreement, extending his arm out to Y/N to lead her out of her office. A soft smile overtook her lip as she accepted the escort.
Stopping by Peter’s desk on the way out he grabbed his own coat, pulling his phone out as he did, messaging Harry to let him know they’d be over around 6:00.
As they left the building, consumed in their own sweet sorrow, unaware of the eyes that watched them leave.
__________________________________________
Spread out amongst the living room of Harry and MJ’s apartment, Mary Jane moved back and forth from where she sat over to Peter and Y/N.
“I was thinking that since the wedding is happening in the fall I wanted to know what you guys thought about this champagne color” Mary Jane laid out the soft yellow/creme/champagne swatch with a picture sample of the color next to a deep red shade. “With the crimson. I thought I’d look good in the photos especially with the leafs changing colors”
Y/N handed the Crimson off to Peter as she examined the Champagne, the two compared the swatches sharing a look of insecurity.
“Really?!” MJ scoffed lightly. “Harry had the exact same reaction” she plopped down on the couch.
“I’m sorry Baby but I don’t look good in red! It washes me out.” Harry threw his arm around MJ's shoulder rubbing it comfortingly. “I will say though. I thought the two of you would be all for it, especially since both of your suits are so red.”
“Yeah but that's a lighter red than this, this is darker” Peter pointed out, moving to sit on the edge of his seat, he motioned to a book in front of Mary Jane. “Let me see the swatches?”
MJ handed the book over before leaning back into Harry’s embrace, watching as Peter flipped through the pages. Stopping when he his the red section, flipping the book to face outward so MJ and Harry could see the color he pointed to “This is like the red in our suits”
“See but we can’t do that Pete, because thats an ugly red” Harry commented
“It is not an ugly red!”
“Dude, it's so bright! We’d all look like Elmo” Harry motioned to the color.
MJ let out a huge sigh grabbing her wine glass off of the table taking a big gulp of the liquid. “I don’t know what we’re gonna do then, because we can’t look at flowers or anything else for the set up until we have the colors”
Y/N just swirled her glass around in her hand, shaking her head with a slight smile. “I am not looking forward to if we do this”
Peter’s head snapped to her, “What you mean you don’t wanna fight with me over which shade of yellow brings out our eyes” he laughed, Y/N lightly elbowed Peter in the side before pausing.
“Let me see the colors” setting her wine glass down grabbing the Champagne color as she took the book from Peter. Flipping through the pages stopping on a page, holding the champagne color up against the other swatch.
Taking the swatch off of the page Y/N got up from the couch holding both colors before holding the two up to Harry and Mary Jane.
The Champagne complimented the dark forest green she had pulled from the book. “It works with the Champagne, it's still a darker color for the accents or main color. Not to mention, it brings out both of your eyes” she handed the colors to MJ, moving to sit back over by Peter.
Looking at the colors, Harry and MJ shared glances.
“Do you look good in green?” MJ jokes,
“You kidding, I look great in green.” Harry responded.
“You’re welcome” Y/N picked up her glass once again finishing off whatever was left in her glass.
“Y/N/N” MJ hummed the nickname, “Do you wanna plan my wedding for me?!”
“HA!” Y/N laughed “That's a really funny joke Mary Jane” Y/N shook her head. “It can’t be that bad. You’ve got a venue for the ceremony and reception, the catering. Not to mention we can narrow the dress search now since you have colors”
“Plus Harry and I’ll have an easier time with our suits,” Peter added.
MJ sighed once more, nodding “Yeah you’re right.” she shifted starting to clean up the wedding books that were laid about. “Now that we at least got somewhere, what do we want to do now?”
“I told these guys at work that we could do a movie, or go out to eat. We could order in and do a movie” Harry suggested
Variations of ‘okay, that's fine, or sure’ filled the air.
So take out was ordered, and a movie was put into the DVD player of the living room, wine and spirits were continuously passed about. The group moved to distress from the day, and let loose. In fact, the group let loose so much. Everyone woke up on the couch the next morning, snuggled up with their respected partners.

Now I can talk about things. Yesssss!
WARNING: HERE BE SPOILERS.
SPIDER-MAN NO WAY HOME SPOILERS.
Ok so. We all predicted that Eddie and Venom would basically be somewhere else, away from the battle, freshly yanked from their sweet honeymoon and would not get involved with the fighting at ALL 😂 Anyway they were too far away from NY to get involved if Venom decided to be a hero and get into it, and Eddie was still trying to make sense of what just happened to him (Venom seemed to be more up to speed, but it’s pretty much established that Eddie is, in his own words, an “idiot” and I think that’s endearing, I should say), so Eddie is still figuring things out, where they are, how the new world they landed in is like etc. Plus clearly they’ve been drinking and Venom is kind of wanting to get back into the honeymoon--in other words, Venom couldn’t care less about Spidey right now, as interesting the idea of fighting him might be, because Venom is more into getting back into his honeymoon with Eddie. Looks like someone was having a good time in their little escapade! 👀😘 Honestly good for them. They are literally so cute and funny together.
I’m calling it a honeymoon, because, that’s kind of what it is, by the way.
Anyway.
While it was a little bit disappointing that our Venom and Tom H’s spidey did not get to meet, I do believe though that it was hinted that Andrew’s spidey might get involved with Venom in the future (he mentioned wanting to fight an alien, and Andrew’s spidey is from Sony + multiverse established means we could have other Spider-men [and other Venoms, more on that below] in other movies, because they are the Spider-men from other universes). Having Tobey’s and Andrew’s Spider-men making appearances in their own separate movies/universes simultaneously with Tom Holland’s Spider-man is no longer convoluted.
That said, I have a sense of relief now that Eddie and Venom are back in the universe where they belong. I do not trust the MCU to handle these characters well. Their brief appearance, however, was handled very well. They felt like themselves, behaved like themselves, and let’s not forget to mention that sexy nipple grab?? Hello??? I admit that while I noticed Eddie’s weird movement, I did not notice the nipple twist until I got home and rewatched the scene on YouTube. That was totally a sexy nipple twist?! I guess if they weren’t canonically a couple before, it’s pretty safe to say they are now. I mean, you don’t twist your bro’s nipple at the same time you’re inviting them to go skinny dipping (aka *swimming naked*?? Hello?? My friends, I know they always shower together, do any and everything together--they are in the same body, so, naturally--but the fact this is brought up? Them together naked? It’s totally on purpose, my loves. These two are pretty much sexually involved with each other in canon now, though still mostly in the subtext (though it’s arguable that they are canon in the text after Venom said they love Eddie; unfortunately Eddie’s “Maybe a little [in love with you]” response was deleted) But yes, I guess it’s pretty much text now that they are not just friends/bros; they seem pretty sexually involved with each other, after the love confession and that nipple twist and the skinny dipping invitation by the way they totally already skinny dipped while drunk before + they totally had sex oops don’t look at me like that it’s all implied between the lines. Why is V so comfy twisting Eddie’s nips? Come on.  Only doing it in public bc they’re drunk, but imagine how they are with each other in private.
I am infinitely relieved to know they did not end up separated, as many of us feared due to the leaks. But the fact that Venom left a little piece behind definitely means that our Venom will not be the one to get involved with Tom H’s spidey, at least as the traditional villain origin of the character. But yes, I think that Venom’s piece left behind will become an iteration of the character in this universe. My younger sister upon watching this scene commented that Venom and Eddie are just dropping kids here and there, I thought that was hilarious and worth mentioning. But, to comment on this note, I don’t think this will be a Symbrock baby (aka Venom offspring) left behind; I think this is actually a piece of Venom themselves that will incarnate into its own iteration of Venom in the MCU. Our Venom might collab in the MCU, but lucky for us, our baby continues in their own little Sony universe corner. Good. This means that there will be at least two iterations of Venom appearing on the big screen simultaneously: our dearly beloved V, and a new incarnation of the character in the MCU, which will no doubt be a villain. That also means we might meet another Eddie Brock, too. THOUGH I think they might actually do Agent Venom with the MCU’s Venom incarnation. Look, they gave Flash blond hair. Things that make you go hmmm, am I right? We’ll have to see.
Personally I think that Venom in connection to Spider-man is a little hard to pull off on the big screen, live-action. I think this is because that storyline sort of requires Spider-man/Peter Parker to show a darker side of himself, which general audiences are quick to reject (they did it poorly in Spider-man 3, BUT an attempt was made to show that the symbiote is merely enhancing an inner darkness that was always in there). I think the general audience doesn’t do very well with this sort of storyline, because they don’t want to see that the hero can have a dark side (unfortunately; personally I love these stories and character explorations). But this is talk for another time. I only bring it up because I think they are thinking of doing a Venom storyline with Tom H’s spidey in the near future, and this is why our Venom left a piece of themselves in Tom H’s universe. It’s because our Venom would end up as an ally if they met Spidey, and they want Tom Holland’s Venom to be the terrifying enemy that Venom initially is for Spider-man. Because let’s face the facts, Venom is the coolest Spider-man villain. By a long shot. It just might be hard to pull off. Well, let’s see how Tom H’s spidey does with it; he already showed a darker side in this movie, when he wanted to kill Norman in revenge.
As long as our Eddie keeps his symbiote, I’m good with whatever the MCU wants to do with their own version of Venom. As long as it doesn’t strive to offend Tom Hardy or something weird like that.
To conclude this post, I think No way Home was entertaining and well done. I thought it was predictable, though, but that didn’t remove my enjoyment of it. My favorite part of course was seeing Eddie (and hearing Venom) lol But also seeing Tobey and Andrew again. But yes, this is a Symbrock blog, and therefore I am mostly taking about Symbrock and Venom here. I didn’t expect them to be too involved, and I got exactly what I thought I would get from them. A brief appearance in the mid-credits scene, being grossly in love as usual, and then poof back to their own universe where they belong. I’m just happy to see they weren’t damaged or sraight-washed or anything.
Final note: I want to see Eddie and Venom carry this sexy drunk flirting sexy nipple twisting couple energy to Venom 3, while keeping that endearing funny vibe of grumpy Eddie x sunshine hyper active Venom they always have going on. I know now if anyone has my back, it is Tom Hardy. Tom Hardy won’t let us down.
Ps. If they carry this flirty vibe to Venom 3, can Eddie please say it back? Eddie Brock I am watching you 👀 Tell Venom you love them back. Ok? Ok. It’s hard for this man to talk about feelings and stuff like that, so that will make it extra good if he *has* to come clean about his feelings.

regarding that anon that talked about how they didn’t give MJ her full potential in this trilogy, I don’t think that’s a critic only about her character. Like i’ve seen so many people complain about Peter being too childish, Aunt may not getting enough screentime, MJ’s storyline being very superficial, etc. And Idk if im in the minority here but I think it’s that way for a reason, like the same way it took 3 movies to get Tom’s spidey to what they did with Tobey and Andrew in their movies. I think Marvel decided to do it that way because they knew fans were tired of all the reboots, hence why they casted a very young Tom (he was 18 at the time) so that he can be spider-man for a lot of time. Same with Zendaya, Jacob and anyone else they would want to add to the cast. Now I know Tom doesn’t have an active contract with Sony/Marvel to play spider-man, but tom and z must definitely know NWH wasn’t their last time playing the characters.
I personally believe the future negotiations might be how many appearances they make, the storylines they will give the characters, their pay, etc. And I absolutely see Tom going more for appearances in other movies and maybe a solo movie where they can conclude his Peter and he can pass the mantle to Miles. But yeah this criticism fans have over Z’s MJ is something that i’m assuming has a purpose over time.
Are you saying that Sony/MCU gave everyone shitty characterizations and storylines so that the franchise could reserve the good stuff for some later time? I don’t follow. Couldnt they be good characters for many movies, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Can’t you just keep developing them, giving them fresh challenges and growth?
I agree that it wasn’t just MJ that the Home trilogy did wrong, although she’s the one I care about the most. @lila-rae has talked about this.

Your review of No Way Home was perfect - I love how well-written and detailed it is! I disliked the film too. First of all, the idea of redeeming Andrew and Tobey Spider-Man’s mistakes (Gwen’s death // not saving Norman from being stabbed with the glider) was nice, but this is Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movie, not theirs. So, instead of giving him a good finale, the film relied on nostalgia from characters to lines (Willem, Alfred, etc.) to bring this film to life. Second of all, most all of the attempted "funny" lines were straight up cringeworthy and unamusing. I have many other negative opinions, but the last thing I’ll say is this: The anti-goblin serum was a terrible idea. Given what Norman did to himself and the side effects [in the 2002 film], he very well could have developed Dissociative Identity Disorder, which is severe and, as of now, has no definite treatment according to my research, and the fact that the writers just disregarded all of that was actually offensive and insensitive in my opinion. The concept itself is unrealistic too. The man needs therapy, not a serum! I can go on about my dislikes, but I’ll end here. Sorry for the essay!
Thank you, Anon x)
I agree with what you say, especially the part about Norman. Clearly, he has developed a DID and the way the writers handled that, with this Anti-Goblin Serum, is so stupid. Like... how is it possible to chemically destroy an alter ? How can this serum differentiate Norman from the Green Goblin ? And again, how can Spider-Tobey create this bullshit when his scientific knowledge is clearly not advanced enough for that ? He even says that he has been thinking about creating this for a long time... Uh, excuse me ? The only person who could have benefited from it is dead since years in his universe, so who was he thinking of curing ?
I'm not going to talk about how offensive this can be to people with DID because it's a complex topic and I don't want to speak for them, but yeah I too think that the writers were quite insulting here.

Defending Peter Parker (Round 1: Andrew Garfield)
Here <- Read this one too if you want (you don't need it to understand this one... but still.. give me the attention🥴)
Soooooo I'm doing this cuz I'm bored to show y'all how dumb some of your arguments and criticisms of the live action spidermen are. I'm doing Holland next. I'll do Maguire if someone shows me where people have hated on his spidey cuz all I ever see for him is people treating him like he's the most perfect Peter Parker to ever exist. I'd never tell anyone how they're "supposed" to feel about a situation so I won't do that and also don't take this seriously I'm just a dumb teenager. I'm just taking the dumb opinions y'all like to pass as fact and rebutting them with actual facts.
Here <- link for Tom (coming later)
Tumblr media
"hE's ToO cOoL"
This just tells me you don't really read the comics. Or if you do, you only read for one type of Peter Parker. People forget that his character is FLUID.
The completely BS idea that Peter Parker is this insanely socially inept uwu guy is just really false and I don't know where it came from. (Oof welp, actually I do. It came from all the people that think that there can only be one type on top) The hate for Andrew's Peter is so unwarranted. There are so many versions in comics and in shows where Peter's not overly awkward and he's actually pretty confident and does good with making friends. People really just took Tobey Maguire's and said that his was the only version that could possibly be right so apparently that made Andrew's wrong? Like no. Tobey's is not law. He was one of many versions and just because Andrew's was cooler, it did not make his wrong. Check out the spiderman cartoons. Literally any spiderman comic. Peter's got swagger when the story calls for it.
Tumblr media
"cRiNgEy AcTiNg"
This is the only point where I'll use my opinions. If you can, with a straight face, say that the acting in TASM was cringey, but the Tobey Maguire movies are your favorites, you're either a pathological liar or you have absolutely no sense. The Tobey Maguire spider-man movies, while still being good, have literally the cringiest acting I've ever seen. They literally have a whole montage of the dude strutting down the street like an idiot to show that he's being "bad" like??? But your problem is Andrew Garfield's quirks? Um, next caller!
Tumblr media
"sKaTeBoArDiNg & pHoToGrApHy"
(Yes. I've heard this idiotic one before)
Again. Read a comic book. Tobey Maguire's is not law. (Also, Tobey's spidey had photography too sooooooo? I am confusion?? Why do ppl even have a problem with what hobbies he does or doesn't have? That has nothing to do with the character)
Tumblr media
"nO-oNe CaReS aBoUt HiS pArEnTs' StOrY"
...hehe fair 👀, keep going.
Tumblr media
"i DoNt LiKe GwEn"
Okay, I'm all for Gwen Stacy slander here, just not TASM Gwen Stacy slander. The chemistry was there and she was MUCH better than little miss Mary "you didn't see my play, peter" Jane. (I wont put her over Zendaya tho) She was a really good love interest and honestly their chemistry was one of the best parts of the movie. Gwen never tried to hold Peter back and she always helped out as much as she could.
Tumblr media
"gOoD sPidErMaN, bAd PeTeR"
This ties right back into the first one. Everyone had a view of what Peter Parker was "supposed" to be after Tobey Maguire's, so when Andrew's came out and he wasn't "nerdy enough" for people, they immediately assumed it was wrong and hated on him for being cool and funny.
Tumblr media
All in all I give Andrew Garfield's Peter an 8/10. He's super cool and I despise it when people hate on his character and his acting as if he didn't BLESS them by gracing their screens.
Comment anything I might've missed!

Apologies to Andrew Garfield
Today marks the first week of No Way Home’s release so let’s celebrate it by showing you all how stupid I was by trusting my brain. Andrew, I know you will never read this but yolo. I AM SO SORRY.
If you didn’t have the chance to watch the movie yet, go away people, GO AWAY AND PLEASE WATCH IT ! Thank you ღ
.
.
I always thought I saw The Amazing Spider-Man. Always. I talked about Andrew as Spidey to my Twitter fam and friends, I UWUed when my friends used gifs of Andrew as Peter Parker, I always said “Tobey IS TOBEY, Andrew was super cool and Tom is nice too !” (No Offense to Tom Holland, he plays a good Spider-Man but his movies... Let’s just say I can’t wait for the future hum), I recognised Andrew’s Spidey suit right away when he came on screen in NWH. So yes, I really thought I watched TASM. I knew I didn’t watch the second one because me stupid and me back then didn’t like the way Electro was (I think.. I can’t remember now, I don’t trust my brain anymore) but that’s another story. But then, after watching NWH for the second time I decided to finish my Spider-Man Marathon started last month.... I only rewatched the first movie before last Wednesday. Yes, I know, I suck but to be honest I dislike my job a lot and all I wanna do when I come home is taking a nap. SO. I rewatched the second one then the third one (Why only the first and third ones are on Netflix Ireland ? Why ??? ANYHOO) and then on Saturday, I started to watch The Amazing Spider-Man and what was my surprise when I realized that I MIGHT HAVE NEVER WATCHED IT BEFORE ???! Some scenes were familiars but everything felt new at the same time. I mean, when you watch a movie of a character you like you always remember things right ? Like I have printed on my brain the scene when Green Goblin tries to kill Peter and in the end, kills accidentally himself. But here, nothing. Norman killing himself might not be a good example because maybe I was traumatized as a kid by it haha
In 2012, I was 16 when the movie was released, I came back to live with my mom in July and she is the one I always bring (brought...) to see superheroe movies... So why, back then, I didn’t go to the cinema with her and watch it ? I seriously thought I did ! Teenage me would have moved mountains for you, Andrew but mostly would have been very aroused because damn boy you’re fine as hell in those movies (and in general) but then again, that’s another story.
I don’t know if it’s because I saw too many footage of the movie which made me think that I watched it (just like I saw Gwen died but didn’t see the full scene until last Sunday - THE NOISE HER BODY MAKES HURTS MY HEART-) or knowing you as an actor before the movie came out did a trick on my mind. But yup, in the end, if my memory doesn’t play me again, I can say that I watched The Amazing Spider-Man for the first time last week despite saying that you were an Amazing Spider-Man (pun not intented) for years. I mean, this just shows how a great job you did because despite apparently not seeing the movies I thought you played Peter so well. However this makes me sad because I really thought I did and maybe by not seeing it before I didn’t support you as much I as could/should and this is why I am sorry. (Re ???)Watching it for the first time last week and seeing The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (the movie is called “The Amazing Spider-Man : The destiny of a hero” in French and I think that’s beautiful) made me realised that you are my favourite Spider-Man. And thinking that you never had a third movie probably because of the MCU makes me very sad. While watching the second opus, I could see that they had plans for your Peter and I read some articles which prove that as well. I know it might be too late or maybe you don’t want to or whatever reason you have but I really hope that we will be able to see you again as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the future.... In The Amazing Spider-Man 3.
You deserve it. Your portray of Peter deserves it. The fans deserve it.
(This post turned into a letter to Andrew, sorry not sorry)
I love the way you played Peter. The physicality you gave to him. AND THE HUMOUR. Oh God, I’m still not over the knife joke (If I had watched it before, I would have remembered this joke, right ??? RIGHT ???). No one could have said those jokes like you did. And Smart Peter. Oh yes. Yup, that’s my jam. And sad Peter. Broke my heart. Well, my mom just texted me that it seems that we watched it. I sent her a picture of Tobey to check if she didn’t mix up the two haha But if I didn’t watch the first one it would explain why I didn’t watch the second one... In the end, I still don’t know.
ANYWAY. I am sorry. I am sorry to my friends and acquaintances who shared their love for Andrew’s Peter and who taught me things, I am sorry to Sony for not giving them my money (ok my mom’s money) but mostly I am sorry to Andrew Garfield because we can see in No Way Home how happy he was to be back. How despite not playing this character for years he’s still got Peter in his system. It shows as well, how a good actor he is but this discussion is for another time. As I said earlier, I would have fought for you. Now, this letter is kinda it. If you’re in, let’s do a third movie Sony ! Tom’s Venom is not from Tom’s Peter universe or Tobey’s so... I mean...
To end this very long post which will interest absolutely no one :
I am just very thankful that I live during this time; three Peters meeting each other and just talking (and saving the universe). I’m taking this WAY too seriously but I grew up with Spider-Man, like a lot of you and failing at this made me disappointed in myself a bit.
To whoever read this until the end, sorry if there is any grammar or orthographic mistake, I can speak three languages but still suck at them three. I will now go to sleep because it’s 1am here, hoping that one day I’ll become a professional actor and say this boring story to the man himself. And maybe he will give me some tips about physicality, I know I talked about it already but I SWEAR comparing to other actors, he’s damn good at what he’s doing. Hope you all enjoyed No Way Home. A lot of rumors are spreading these days... Hopefully some will be true.
Take care people and Andrew, SORRY AGAIN !
P.S. : TASM 2 might not be perfect but calling it the worst Spider-Man movie ?? WHEN THERE IS THE FREAKING ITSY BITSY SONG ??? HOW DARE YOU PEOPLE ??? ALSO GWEN BEING LIKE “IT’S MY CHOICE” YES YES YES (rip TT)
P.S. 2 : I’m gonna regret posting this, it’s all messy because 3600 thoughts came into my head at the same time while I was writing it. I’ll forget about it when I’ll see No Way Home in IMAX this Friday, merry Christmas Eve to me. (Wish my mom was there)

As a longtime Spider-Man fan I’m feeling really torn right now
A little background: I grew up with the Sam Raimi films and Tobey Maguire has been my favorite Spider-Man for years now. Spider-Man 2 is a masterpiece in my eyes and a film I watch at least once a year if not more.
So, yeah, Tobey Maguire is a special actor for me just because of the connection I have to the first 2 Raimi Spidey films.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first two original Sam Raimi Spider-Man films are so so special to me, and I will always adore them.
But this is where I’m starting to feel torn. #firstworldproblems
I recently rewatched Homecoming and Far From Home with a friend, and god damn it!, Tom Holland is just so ENDEARING in the role. He owns it! I don’t think I could ever call Tobey Maguire endearing in the role, even though I still love him all the same.
Although I don’t like Homecoming and Far From Home as much as Spider-Man 2, they are still special films for me and I love how they portray the famous webslinger. He’s literally just a kid who is in way over his head. Who else can relate to that?? I know I can, and I’m not even a kid anymore. And Tom Holland nails it!! He’s just so cute and vulnerable in the role, you can’t help but root for him. (Okay, I’m nerding out and I’m sorry. Long time Spider-Man film fan here, and I have a soft spot for the superhero and sometimes it shows.)
I saw Homecoming alone in theaters because I had no one else to go with and I heard great things about this iteration of Spidey. I wasn’t crazy about it the first time I saw it in theaters, comparing it to the Rami films all the time it was playing. Now, though, it’s really grown on me over the years, to the point that I sometimes prefer the lighter fare to the heavier fare that was Tobey’s Spider-Man.

And Far From Home just cemented my love for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and pushed me over the edge. I saw it with some friends through the Meetup app, and found it to be a more adult and interesting film than Homecoming was, and Tom Holland’s performance really really grew on me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, I haven’t even touched on his other films in the MCU, but I don’t think I need to.
And now...just seeing the trailer for No Way Home. (!!!!!!!) He owns the role!! I sincerely hope this isn’t his last time playing Peter Parker, and the film hasn’t even been released yet. There were so many times in the trailer, his acting had me smiling like a teenager again and he had me excited for another Spidey film too, of course. The lead up to Far From Home was the last time I got even remotely excited for a Spider-Man film, and now it’s not even close to how I feel about No Way Home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, all in all, I’m trying to say: Tom Holland might have finally inched out Tobey Maguire as my favorite Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and I believe this next film is gonna just cement that fact. And I feel terrible for saying this, since I’ve loved Tobey’s portrayal for so long and still honestly do. Or...it might be a tie between the two of them. In which case, I think I’m okay with that. I guess change has to come at some point.
Tumblr media
So, all I’m saying is...Tom Holland is most definitely the perfect Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and I wish I was more open to him since the very beginning. This next film looks intense and kind of dark, and I’m glad they’re moving it in an even more mature direction. So many shots in the trailer just sent shivers down my spine. Tom Holland is going to continue on his successful streak with this next film, I can feel it.
Tumblr media
So, does this fandom even allow a tie?? Or do you have to choose ONLY ONE?? Because I honestly can’t. Well...maybe it’s Tom Holland. And I’m still in denial. Raimi fanboys, please don’t be mad at me.

***SPIDERMAN NWH SPOILER WARNING*** First of all KFBDBISVFHRIFJH IT WAS SO GOOD AMAZING INCREDIBLE I CANT DESCRIBE IT. Second sorry if this is long and all over the place idk how to put my thoughts into words in an organized manner. To start, can I just say how much I love Ned, I didn’t realize how funny he was how did I miss it. Also, seeing the movie made me realize just how I had absolutely no fucking clue what the movie was about (cause in my head after accidentally seeing 0.5 second clips, I had made up this whole plot) and then AUNT MAY 😭😭😭😭 If I had been alone watching the movie I would have bawled my eyes out, cause WHY?! They didn’t have to do us like that ;( and then the three spidermans, absolutely BEAUTIFUL *chefs kiss* I loved it all, just seeing them interact idk I can’t explain it, despite not watching their other movies, I LOVED it. (I watched Tobey’s when I was younger but I don’t really remember, and Andrew’s I haven’t watched but I have seen the scene of Gwen). I think this is my favorite Spider-Man movie out of Tom’s three. Also I kind of thought they would make fun of the “with great power comes great responsibility” line cause of how commonly it’s used but nope. And I was a little lost on who the villains were cause you know i haven’t watched their movies but still I loved it. omg I almost forgot how could I. When MJ is falling and Peter tries to catch her but fails and then Andrew’s Spider-Man dives after her cause he couldn’t have what happened to Gwen happen to her and catches her and just holds her while crying 😭😭😭 I will say though that Peter (tom’s) annoyed me a little cause Ik he wanted to help everyone but strange was right cause if he changed the fate of the villains there are gonna be side effects to that, and then he did all of THAT, and Aunt May dying and the whole city basically getting trashed only to end up back to the beginning, only he could have avoided everything if he sent them back 🤡 also I sometimes ruin movies with a lot of special effects for myself cause I just imagine what the behind the scenes must look with them doing silly things and looking stupid and then I feel like I don’t really ENJOY it as much although maybe that’s just me tricking myself into thinking that I’m not enjoying it when I am, I have no clue now (it’s like when I was little and I found out that people lipsync in music videos, my whole world changed) anyways, the ending 🥺🥺 whyyyyyyyyy?;?:$: I just kept thinking about the fact that NO ONE would remember him, like the avengers wouldn’t even know about him anymore, wouldn’t know how much Tony cared for him or their interactions before that (oh my god I wrote that and I just remembered that nat died too and that Steve became a grandpa, and they are the only ones that really interacted with Peter (I think) whatever they are all alive in my head 😌) the whole time after strange wiped their memories, I was waiting for Peter to tell MJ or Ned a whole speech of who he was but he never said anything :( I understand that though, I’m guessing he didn’t want to burden them again with the whole secret seeing as they got into MIT and everything without him interfering, so he just thought they were better without him, but the fact that the audience is left with that, knowing the whole story while the characters don’t, I honestly felt like Peter for a second :(( anyways I’ll end this rant here, i should really go to sleep since it’s 2 in the morning 💃🏻💃🏻 if I remember something tomorrow I’ll be back, but I wanted to get my thoughts before I forgot the movie
First of all, I know that FEELING EXACTLY when you have so many feelings about something and have to type/go so fast so to not forget any of them also it's literally what I'm doing now akjdfhalksjdfh cause I was so excited to hear your thoughts.
YES NED!! He's so underrated imo and one of the reasons I've been trying to feature him more as an independent character in my OC works because he's just genuinely a great friend and reminds me of one of my friends irl just in everything he does. I wanna be his friend so bad
AUNT MAY I WAS SHOCKED. At first I thought she survived so I turned to my friend and was like "haha the power of the milf" and then she died and I was like "THIS IS A CRIME." Devastated. Totally shifted the tone of the Spider-man movies and I'll never be able to watch the first two the same way again.
THE THREE SPIDER-MEN YES THE WAY THE THEATER SCREAMED
I keep doing backflips trying to think of how future movie could repair the Peter, MJ, Ned trio because they're my emotional support friend group and I definitely projected on to that soooo ummm MARVEL FIX THIS especially since i didn't anticipate this for my OC story and now this Feels Bad Man they were friends :(
I was in total denial the whole drive home lol like it was a 90 minute drive and I was just like
Tumblr media
Thank you for sharing all of these thoughts I LOVED THEM and also one more thing the fact that they get to still go to MIT!!! (well... MJ and Ned...) ugh so excited for the MCU to come to Boston /s
Ned is totally right Boston has "wicked crime" Spider-man needs to come here STAT

Spider-Man: NWH, gotta vent
But I do understand it’s only in theaters right now and Omicron is on the rampage so many probably haven’t gotten a chance to see it. SPOILERS and Read more below!
Gotta vent though, this movie has to be the most devastating thing I have watched in a long time. I went to Endgame by myself. Amongst strangers. I didn’t crack a tear until I got home because I just don’t like to cry in public.
Today however? Nah, couldn’t do it, cracked like an EGG. And this? This not only took the cake from Endgame but the plate and fork too, HOLY SHIT.
First and foremost...still a great movie. As my buddy said, “well, we could be sad because it was a terrible movie?”. Which is true, Tobey Maguires Spiderman 3 is still the only movie I have stood up to walk out of so it is a win. But at what cost?
As someone that likes to write, I look at the web that actions cause. At the beginning of the movie, we are given the information that Peter was placed in May’s care, which typically means parents aren’t here. Peter Parker has always been an orphan so, yea. There was no Uncle Ben in this universe and the way it seems, we have to assume May is all he has.
When they SPOILER TO BE SURE kill Aunt May...this just is...A LOT in any circumstance. Aunt May takes Uncle Ben’s iconic place here and she does a great job...but that does mean that Spiderman now has NO ONE. At least not family, so.
Okay. He has MJ and Ned, right? And he’s an Avenger! Right? Nope. The only way to undo this mess was...to have everyone forget “Spiderman”. Now here’s a problem I have: they kept saying “Spiderman”. That means the guy in the suit. That does not mean Peter Parker. What they proceed to do...is destroy the existence of Peter Parker and keep Spiderman.
This means that his friends...have no idea of his existence. And it goes a step further, apparently...NO ONE KNOWS OF HIS EXISTENCE. Aunt May would have had some kind of inheritance for him, or he would have gotten her things. Nope, he is destitute. Happy Hogan sees him at May’s grave, like, WTF are you? Oh, just...basically May’s child. Ah, and he, uh, also apparently doesn’t exist enough to have gone to school?? He’s getting his GED.
All that he did...with Thanos and them. His legacy with Iron Man--all of this...gone...so Sony can fuck this up again.
I read an article, apparently Sony like’s their Spider-man tortured and ‘lonely’. Uh..most of the Spider-man’s I knew of...had an Aunt May?? Had an MJ?? Had him getting a high school degree. You have this man starting from  scratch. WHY MARVEL? WHY DID YOU SHOP SPIDERMAN OUT FOR HIM TO GET TREATED LIKE THIS?!
I am...legit blown. Wow. Hello, 2022. I should have tried to see this in 2021 so I could have left this behind, damn. Damn it, MYSTERIO.

let’s end this once and for all. for all the people in my inbox asking me about Tom’s recent interview:
kinda disappointing how the only opinion people have about MCU Peter is that they hate his relationship with Tony and many of them only hate it because they can’t get over the fact that Holland is now the current Spider-Man.
You’re allowed to have favorites but Tom Holland is a good ass spider-man and saying that his relationship with Tony is the entire reason you hate him is ridiculous.
All of us know that this is Uncle Ben’s essence:
‘Look, when you can do the things that I can, but you don't... and then the bad things happen... they happen because of you.’
THIS is all Uncle Ben. This is how the MCU introduced Peter. The integral aspect of his character. Everyone knows this and if the MCU decided not to show Uncle Ben’s death scene in the movies again is because Holland managed to perfectly capture Peter’s grief, his acceptance over the impact of his abilities on other people’s lives, his understanding of responsibility and his biggest emotional incentive with only one sentence.
Yes, this kid is that talented and I’m sorry if you can’t see that but they chose him for a reason.
Here are some ‘hard-to-swallow’ facts you clearly need to understand:
Things Peter did.
How things actually happened:
Defeated Adrian Toomes on his own.
Saved his classmates multiple times on his own.
Sacrificed teenage experiences and prioritized doing the right thing.
Faced The Shocker and Toomes’ crew members on his own.
Saved Aaron Davis by telling the villain that is ok to shoot him because he can take it.
Denied himself popularity and acceptance because he knows Spider-Man is not a party trick.
Told Toomes he understands that selling weapons to criminals is wrong and didn’t let Adrian use the ‘Tony Stark did it too’ card to justify his actions.
Got almost killed twice, first by an entire piece of rubble crushing him to death and then by the confrontation with Toomes/plane accident. Then saved himself and saved the day. All of this without the suit.
Rejected the Avenger’s membership, continued doing his part and understood what Tony was trying to communicate him: ‘save the little people’. His roots.
Persisted in saving Doctor Strange even if he knew he could die up in space.
Told Tony Stark he was staying on the ship because he’s a loyal kid and strongly believes that if he doesn’t help, there’ll be no neighborhood to save.
Fought the biggest enemy in the world without hesitation.
Even after dying, continued fighting alongside the other heroes, took care of the infinity gauntlet even if the situation was unpredictable and did his part in the biggest war ever.
Showcased his intellectual abilities by managing Tony Stark’s tech like nobody's business.
Defeated Mysterio and faced him alone.
Why Peter did them:
He wanted to do the right thing, told Liz he was sorry because he thought she didn’t deserve what was happening inside of her home, sacrificed highschool memories to do what he thought was right.
He is a hero, the people that were in danger were his classmates, therefore the logical thing was to save them. He would do that for any civilian too.
This is who he is, this is why he’s doing what he’s doing, just like he stated in Civil War.
He’s pretty much capable. That’s why.
Knows he can take a bullet and has the ability to dodge it, therefore faces the villain without fear.
This explains itself.
Got caught up in the high of the moment, tried to get out of the same agonizing routine his genius hyperactive self is used to live every day and tried to be the big hero and learned that he’s better off saving the little people.
Finally understood what Tony was merely reminding him. He’s Spider-Man, with or without the suit.
Understood the gravity of the situation and decided he wanted to help.
He’s a smart kid and knows that he is capable of helping even if this means he could potentially die. He did die.
Self-explanatory.
Instead of enjoying his vacation, he decided that his role in the world as a superhero is always going to come out on top for him.
Not a surprise.
Took responsibility for his mistake and stepped up to the part when there weren’t any other superheroes available to help.
How MANY of you think things are:
Peter did it because of Tony’s tech.
Peter only wants to impress Tony Stark.
Peter is Iron Man Jr.
Peter cries too much and is way too emotional about everything.
Tom Holland can’t act.
Peter is a dumbass and has to use Tony’s tech for everything ignoring the fact that he’s a teenager with no resources and has proven he’s capable of managing said technology with ease.
Tony. Tony. Tony. Tony.
And for a dumbass reason: He’s not Tobey Maguire and consequently, he sucks.
Even if you’re a big fan of the comics, of a different portrayal of Peter Parker, of a different alternate universe, etc... NONE of these things gives you the right to invalidate Tom Holland’s interpretations or to call him ‘naive’ or ‘unfit’ for the role of his life only for stating his opinion.
You can’t keep bullying him into agreeing with you just because he doesn’t fit your comic book standards. He is his own version of the character and he’s doing a fantastic job with it. Hating on him doesn’t make you look ‘woke’ or ‘cool’.
Just because this Peter got to enjoy the parental guidance of another father figure for a very long time doesn’t mean he’s not a good spider-man and I think it’s time people recognize that.
