The Boys Preference: You Falling Asleep
A/N: Not requested! I just thought it would be a cute idea! Requests are still open. Be sure to read my rules in the pinned post :) Feedback is always appreciated 💜💜💜
Butcher didn't want anyone visiting him in the hospital, but you weren't taking no for an answer. He'd been sleeping on and off, but when he work up again, you were asleep. Curled into a ball in one of the visitor chairs. You looked uncomfortable and cramped, but your expression was that of relief. For a little while you weren't worried about the state of the world or the future or his health. He knows you haven't been getting enough sleep. That didn't really matter when it felt like the world was ending every other day. When the nurses come in he makes sure to warn them. He couldn't be the cause of your fears and the one to wake you up. Someone brought a blanket and he gently placed it over you. He watched you, taking in this moment. You were finally relaxed. He knew you'd only done this because you were completely exhausted, you could barely keep your eyes open. It hurt him to know that he was a big reason why you couldn't eat or sleep or take care of yourself. He never meant to hurt you like this.
Hughie notices you can barely keep your eyes open. After that night at Tek Knights, you haven't been sleeping very well. You'd been so scared, so sure you were going to die with five new holes punctured into your body. You woke up from nightmares gasping for air, checking your skin for holes, afraid you were still in the sex dungeon. That you never got out. He's not sure how to talk to you about it and the guilt eats him alive. You and him are going through his files on Neuman when your head starts to fall only for you to startle awake. He insists you take a nap in his bed. You're reluctant, but you're so exhausted you eventually give in. He doesn't shut the door completely, wanting to be there if you have another nightmare. It's the least he can do.
Annie insists she'll stay awake for the both of you. The shape shifter captured you both. You were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. They ended up drugging the both of you. They switched between your two identities, tearing off their skin, taking your memories as well as your faces. Annie can see just how tired you are. Your skin is raw and you've run out of tears. She doesn't hold it against you. She fights against the chains quietly, hearing your breathing turn shallow. She would find a way out of this. She would get you out of this. You'd feel better after getting a good night's sleep. You weren't a Supe. You didn't have the abilities she had. And yet, she couldn't get them to work. She cursed herself for not protecting you, not saving you, not being a good enough Supe. She was grateful you weren't awake to see her fall apart like this.
M.M. does everything in his power not to wake you. You fell asleep on a surveillance mission in the van. You'd gotten so quiet, he felt like he was talking to himself. When he looked over, putting the binoculars down, you were curled in a ball in the passenger seat, fast asleep. He knows you haven't been sleeping well. If it's not the nightmares, it's the fear, the worrying. You recently admitted you'd kept a loaded gun where you could easily reach just in case. You were petrified something terrible would happen if you relaxed even a little, if you let your guard down. You needed this. He turns the engine off and puts his coat over you. He would've loved being able to talk about your heightened stress and anxiety, ways to cope, but this was a lot better. He hoped you'd feel safer, calmer after you woke up.
Frenchie freaks out a little internally. He thought you were dead. Your head was resting in your folded arms on your desk. Once he saw your body rise and fall with your breathing, he realized you weren't knocked out or dead. You were asleep. He thinks it's a little funny after getting over his initial panic. You've been working really hard lately. He wasn't sure how much sleep you were getting, if you were getting any at all. When the others walked in, bickering and laughing, he motions for them to be quiet. You needed this. Everyone whispers, going their separate ways. Frenchie turns down the lights, leaving a lamp on so that you're not totally in the dark. He wants you to rest as long as possible. You've been giving everything to this job, this cause, lately. You needed a lot more rest than this.
Kimiko knew you'd been having nightmares. It wasn't a secret. You confided in her one night that you haven't been sleeping well. Every time you close your eyes, you see Homelander. You feel his lasers slice through you until you're two halves. He's not just angry or upset, he's furious. You can't escape him. You two are hanging out when she notices you can't keep your eyes open. She tells you to lay down with your head on her lap. You laugh it off, but she's serious. She rubs circles between your shoulder blades, trying to ease you to sleep. When she notices your eyes are closed she doesn't stop. It brings her a lot of ease and relief knowing she can help you, at least a little. If you have another nightmare, if you face Homelander alone again, she'll be there when you wake up. She'll be there.
Bonus! Homelander either let's you sleep or orders you out of the room. If he likes you, he might warn the others to shut the fuck up. He'd move your meeting to another time and simply let you be. He might check on you every so often and when he sees you stirring he would gently wake you up, walk you to your room where you can sleep in a real bed instead of holding your head up in the board room. If he doesn't like you, he yells and berates and is this close to firing you before he realizes The Seven and Vought need you for your powers. You can apologize all you want, he won't listen. Either way you're completely embarrassed. You've just been so busy lately, it's been hard to fall asleep with everything going on.
#the boys#love#YOU NAIL these characters#like these are incredible#esp homelander because it can go both ways and I like that you cover both of them#depending on your relationship with him

Imagine being Luke's twin who has a bad feeling about Cate:
"Do you know where y/n is?"
"I don't know. I can look for them, if you want." Cate was glad her eyes were still white. You and her had gotten in a huge fight. Both Cate and Luke knew you weren't her biggest fan. You and your brother had had countless conversations about her, this bad feeling you had about her from the moment you met her. He thought you were just being overprotective, looking after your twin the way you had your entire life. You knew something was wrong, though. You'd been following her ever since the new school year started, going through her room, her backpack and purse, trying to find any proof you could that you were right, that your feelings were justified. When she found you she did what she had to to get you out of her business: she sent you back to your room and told you to stay until she came back. You never missed any of Luke's training, but one wouldn't hurt. You were easy to manipulate, easy to control. You might've been powerful, just as powerful as your brother, but you were vulnerable. Your brothers, your family, they meant more than anything to you. The moment she brought up Luke or Sams names, it was over. She could make you do whatever she wanted and she wouldn't even burst a blood vessel.
"No, no it's okay. They'll show up."

Gen V Preference: Taking Care Of You When Sick:
A/N: Not requested, just a cute idea I had :) I thought about what Luke would do and I got a little obsessed lol! Feedback is always appreciated!!! 💜💜💜
Luke is attentive and careful and actually really good at determining when or if doctors should get involved. He can tell the difference between a regular cough and a Pneumonia cough. He goes out and gets everything you'd need (and then some). He's good at playing nurse and listens when you tell him it's nothing, just a cold. He's seen you through the flu, so he at least knows when you're being honest and when you're down playing it. He makes sure you don't move, handing you the remote to the TV and checking in on you between classes (or skipping them altogether despite your objections) and makes sure you take medicine every few hours on the dot. It's like the way he took care of Sam growing up, looking after him. It makes him feel wanted and helpful, even more super than when he's in the arena.
Jordan avoids you at all costs. Because they've never been sick, they treat it like the plague. It freaks them out that your body is hot but you're freezing, piling on the blankets. They know there's no way they could catch it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't gross them out. The coughing, the sneezing, the tissues. They don't want to be near any of it. They leave you in their dorm with everything you need, but that's as far as they'll go. They keep a respectable distance and remind you about their busy day (classes, study groups, extracurriculars, their internship, etc.) so they won't be around much. You know how they really feel and try not to take it personally. Jordan isn't cold, but they're not the most nurturing or warm. You didn't expect them to dote on you. You know they'll come back when you're better, more like yourself, and things between you will be fine.
Andre isn't exactly sure what to do or how to help. He knew that humans were way more fragile than Supes. There's the obvious: they're not indestructible, they don't have super strength or x-ray vision, they can't fly and they aren't able to control things. And there's the not so obvious: they catch and spread viruses and bugs, especially when they're kids, and it's just part of the human experience. He understands the basics of the immune system, but you end up having to explain that it's small, it'll pass in a few days, and all you need is rest. He makes sure you're comfortable and have everything you need, but then he kinda stands there a little clueless. You take your medicine and fall asleep on and off. You don't need him to look after you, you just appreciate his company.
Cate isn't the most thoughtful or caring. She knows what will happen, how you'll get worse before you get better, and she knows you can take care of yourself, so she really leaves it up to you. She might hang around and try to sound empathetic, but for the most part her day, her schedule, isn't thrown off because you're sick. She might even avoid you. She can't make you get better faster, it's the type of thing that needs to run its course. Because she has no control over the situation, she has little interest in it and you. She might feign worry or interest or whatever emotion is necessary for the situation, but for the most part she lets you be on your own, checking in between classes or activities. Once you're feeling better, that's when she returns to her affectionate self, that's when she goes back to controlling you.
Marie has seen human sickness before. Her mom and dad and sister each fell victim to flu season every couple years and she would get to play nurse, feeling like a hero because she took care of them. When you get sick she isn't fazed or worried, she knows it'll go away in a few days, maybe a little longer. There isn't a lot from her childhood she likes to remember or reminisce on, but looking after her sister and her parents is definitely one of the sweeter memories she has. She gets you everything you need and makes sure you're comfortable and, despite her best efforts, you shoo her away to class, telling her you'll sleep while she's away. She texts you during class checking-in. She might even open up a little and tell you about the time her mom was sick and she spent the whole day with her in bed, heating up soup and bringing in more tissues. She was so scared the first time it happened, but her mom talked her down and explained everything.
Emma makes fun of you. You're so sniffly and achy and snuggled up in her bed with every blanket you can find. You look and sound ridiculous. Once she realizes this bug isn't that serious and will be out of your system in a few days, she's not too worried. She offers you booze and weed, unsure of how to help, and you thank her, but turn her down politely. What you really need is an endless supply of tissues and bad TV. That she can do, pulling up the streaming services on her computer and grabbing every roll of toilet paper from the communal bathrooms. Because she can't get sick, she lies beside you and the two of you fall asleep together. She's not particularly nurturing, but she finds other ways to make you feel better that is far more fitting for her personality.
Sam freaks out. When he was locked away, getting sick meant certain death. He knows he shouldn't jump to that kind of conclusion, but he just gets so afraid. So many people he knew (or at least learned their faces) died because of a virus. You telling him that you caught one sends him into a panic. Realizing this, you immediately clarify it's just a cold, it's nothing. At first he avoids you, afraid of what will happen. Will your skin bubble up and fall off? Will your eyes melt? Will you lose all feeling from the chest down? Will any of this be permanent? You break it down for him: how long it'll last, the symptoms, the medications you'll take. That eases some of his anxieties and, after you get better, he feels silly for freaking out. The next time you get sick, especially if it's worse like the flu or pneumonia, you go through the cycle again.

hey lovely, we miss you. Hope you’re okay xx
Hiiiii!!! Thank you anon, that means the world (and thank you to the people who have sent in requests with nice messages!) Using this ask as a little update of sorts!
I'm on an extended hiatus from writing fanfiction, mostly because I've been working on editing a BOOK that I hope to query to agents this fall/winter! So, that's where all my writing time has gone. At some point, maybe when things get less crazy, I'd still love to reopen things, maybe with new fandoms or with a smaller, more focused list of fandoms.
But, the book is my big focus right now, and I have big hopes for it! My life irl has only gotten crazier and a lot of bad things happened over the last year or so but I left my old job and am now in a MUCH better place!!! I'm doing cybersec for an amazing organization and I don't want to doxx myself, but they're really big in the science/research world and work is so exciting and fun (in a good way, this time!).
anyways, that's the update, also while I'm here, here are some links for current Palestine-related actions that I've been taking part in and would love to see people support:
GoFundMe: Support Evacuating the Fares Family from Gaza- this family is Operation Olive Branch verified and are currently looking to evacuate 19 family members from Gaza, including several young children and older family members with health issues. You can see this TikTok I made about them for more info as well!
esims For Gaza - I did a workshop with my friends where we bought a bunch of these and donated them. It's a lifeline for people on the ground, and just one donation no only helps the receiver, but everyone around them stay in touch with loved ones or get information out.
If you participate in either of these - send me a message with a screenshot for proof, and I will create a moodboard for you or an OC :)

AOS mutuals!!! my lovely friend Jamie just finished their Agents of SHIELD OC fic that spans ALL SEVEN SEASONS (a chapter per season!)
It's a remarkable feat and I would highly recommend it as a read for anyone who loves fics that let you travel and grow with the characters. seven seasons of content makes their OC Aaron feel like a proper character in the show and its unreal how seamlessly Aaron fits in as a member of the squad
I compelled my massive fanfic project (X Marks the Spot) yesterday and now I’m sad.
I won’t do a fanfic (or anything) of that length again; but it was (and is) a capsule of my writing styles through time. I am proud of what I managed to do.
Still, is a sort of feat, even if fanfic.

Living on the Bus as an Agent of SHIELD (based on my own experience traveling for work) (AGENTS OF SHIELD)”
requester: N/A // a/n: yes I was inspired by my current work travels and I LOVE to think about the reality of daily Bus life haha. Yes I would be open to doing a part 2?! also yes I'm back but not really? just writing whatever i feel like tbh
For the first few days, you’re weirdly formal about things. You don’t want to sit on the furniture or cook or anything because like… this Bus is NICE. you sit on the floor and eat off the coffee table
The team is gonna see you in your pajamas. You’re gonna see the team in their pajamas. It’s gonna happen. You all are living together and there’s no way around this.
For the first few days, you wake up early to get ready before even leaving your bunk so that no one sees you in any sort of unpresentable shape.
But finally you crack because everyone is staying up late and you want to change into cozy clothes so you change into your pajamas.
(It’s a pair of pink Snoopy pajamas)
You walk back out of your bunk praying no one will notice until someone (Coulson) says “aww I like y/n’s pajamas!”
At night, Coulson likes to watch movies on the briefing room screen and Skye usually joins him. The others will stop in, but they are the constant.
It’s the worst movies, and the weirdest shit from whatever country’s Netflix the plane is in
Skye also has been personally trying to mess up Coulson’s algorithm so she watches tons of random things on his accounts
Usually the team is drunk during these movie marathons and exhausted after a day in the field
Most of the time, you don’t make it through the movie—you keep nodding off halfway though
Or you go to your bunk, and fall asleep to the sound of a couple teammates, usually Coulson and Skye, laughing their asses off at whatever movie they put on
The Bus is cleaned professionally once a week when you check in on a SHIELD base, but you still find yourself cleaning up all the time because you don’t want to be the “messy” roommate
Ward’s the one who scares you the most when it comes to cleaning because his bunk doesn’t even look LIVED in and he always seems to witness you dropping a napkin of crumbs on the floor, or trying to silently put a plate in the sink “to soak”
This might be a surprise, but there isn’t a chore schedule. Chores are done as needed, and usually quickly assigned. For example, if you trained with someone, the lower ranking people just kinda… automatically clean up and put the mats away and wipe things down after
The dishes pile up in the sink and after a day or so, someone just does them while they’re waiting for someone in the microwave. Usually Jemma or Ward.
You learn everyone’s shower habits really quickly.
Some people (Jemma) are morning shower people, others (Fitz, Skye) are night shower people, others (Ward, May) are post-training shower people, and Coulson just tends to shower before dinner, though he uses the bathroom attached to his office
Coordination is key because nothing is worse than when the bathroom is still wet from the previous person 😭😭😭
People calling dibs after a really long day/mission
Dinner is honestly usually takeout. You always talk about cooking and make plans to but never do. At some point in the evening, someone always announces they’re ordering and everyone else bandwagons on
Breakfast is the only meal that is sometimes cooked. Coulson makes a mean egg sandwich, but you gonna be up early for that.
The team often resupplies on base, but very often (at least a few times a week), someone makes a Cosco/Walmart/convenience store run.
So if you want snacks (or lunch stuff), you gotta tag along or ask REALLY nice
May somehow ALWAYS knocking on your bunk door 5 minutes before your alarm was gonna go off to “make sure you’re up”
Trying to put on your best “awake” voice because nothing prepares you for May knocking on your door asking if you’re awake. Ever.
Also, in that same vein, you’re going to try your best to be so closed off and professional and then one day, you’re going to break that illusion. For me, it was vomiting out the door of a car stuck in traffic 🤠
It’s weird how quickly the team picks up on your habits and idiosyncrasies. Like May getting your favorite chips from the store, or Fitz asking what you’re thinking about because you’re bouncing your leg again and you only do that when your thinking intently
The boredom is sometimes real, especially when you’re waiting on orders and just in standby for a day or so. You end up borrowing a lot of Ward’s books and they’re not the kind of thing you’d usually read, but hey, they fill the time

Who's most likely to be a super-hero ?
@the-radio-star!! i can see her having powers related to sound, like manipulating sound waves and the like. doesn't sound like much at first, but I'm an engineer and I know that this power can actually be devastating. I mean, she can literally control fluid pressure. she'd send your lungs into pulmonary overpressure SO FAST.
which one of my mutuals is most likely to...

Remember that time you scared me? (Platonic)
Requested Imagine: A brush with death on a mission leads to escalations of protection vs recklessness.
AN/ I've kind of moulded two requests together. One with the prompts and the scenario, and another about a sick reader not accepting help. So I kind of put them together for this. Anyway, enjoy! :D
You had scared Daisy before. You had terrified her before through worry. She’d even vomited of it once. Coulson had to hold Daisy’s hair back when that happened. It was one of the reasons she cut her hair.
HYDRA….just HYDRA. She hated them before, but she hated them more now. She despised Ward. He had known of where you were. Of where you had been when you were gone from the Orphanage. You were with HYDRA, and SHIELD had found her.
You seemed to be the cursed Johnson. And she hated that you thought that way.
“Hey.” But, she softened her voice when she saw your eyes open. You were healing. And the machine beeped to constantly tell her that you were, in fact, alive. But, now your eyes were open.
Her younger sibling was ok. That was all that mattered to her in this moment.
You closed your eyes and squeezed them shut, discomfort clear on your face, “What’s wrong?” She asked, concern coming through the soft voice she tried to keep there.
“Hurts is all.”
She reached over the bed, putting her hand on your arm and rubbing the thumb gently on it to try and give some comfort, “That’s what happens when you do dumb things. You…you didn’t need to jump in front of the –” She couldn’t finish the sentence. She gulped, feeling the tears once again as they pricked at her.
She held them back, though. She knew it would only make your thoughts worsen seeing them.
“Yeah, well. Do you know what could’ve happened to you if I hadn’t been there?” Her thumb stopped. She felt more tears wishing to come out at this point.
She couldn’t control the tremor in her voice this time, “…Y/N, you could’ve died.”
You held her gaze, “Better me than you. We can’t afford a lose like that.”
She had to look away for a moment, wiping at her eyes with her free hand, “Y/N…I can’t lose you. None of us can. Jemma – Jemma could hardly control herself when she saw you.” She was trying to sound firm. She didn’t.
You looked down for a moment before back to your sister’s eyes, “Yeah, well. I’ve been like this before,” you let out a morbid chuckle, “HYDRA did worse.”
She nodded, but hated doing it. She gave you a smile, but it was…well, it wasn’t good but she wasn’t sure what it was meant to communicate.
With that, she stood up and left the room.
“Daisy –” Jemma said, trying to get her best friend to stop in case she did anything rash.
Daisy didn’t stop, however.
Jemma looked back to the room in worry, seeing you awake and staring at the window.
When Daisy came back, she seemed better, “What is it?” Jemma asked as Daisy approached Jemma. With the look on Daisy’s face, Jemma knew there was a plan. Fitz made his way over as well, the three huddled up.
“Coulson will be the one to tell them. But…” And so, she told the pair the plan.
There was a mission. A small one, but a mission you guys had to do. And so, you were all in the office as Coulson briefed you all. Just a simple Inhuman job.
However, as you went to leave, “Y/N,” You turned back to Coulson, “You’ll be grounded for this one.” That one made you freeze. Daisy was still in the room with you; she shut the door. She knew this wasn’t going to be pretty.
“What?” He heard the bitterness; he heard the rage.
He knew how Johnson’s could be, “I’m grounding you for this one.” Uh-oh. This was the commander tone.
You looked from your sister to your father figure, “What?” You asked again, as if you hadn’t fully processed it.
“You’re still healing.” Coulson said, going to a more gentle tone. One he only kept for distressed agents or his team.
Right now, you were both.
“I’ve healed.” You corrected him.
He shook his head, “You haven’t. I need you up to strength. And...there’s something else. I –”
“Fuck the something else, Coulson. I can’t let Daisy go alone.”
“Y/N, I’ll be fine.” Your sister assured you.
“Coulson –”
“Why aren’t you listening to me? You’re grounded for now, Y/N…I just don’t want anything bad to happen to you.” He said, the first bit in that commander voice, the second in that softer one.
You scoffed, “This is SHIELD. Everything goes wrong all the time. Me getting hurt and being hurt is status quo. Hell, it was how you found me, remember?”
He did, but he didn’t want to go back there. So, he just kept silent as he let his words fully be processed by you.
Your sister just looked at you with worry. A lot of it. Daisy was always one who loved deeply, and you being blood – not that the rest weren’t family – and someone she knew since the start made that love more.
You took a breath, you knew you had no choice. But – “Fine, I stay,” You then pointed a finger at him, “But, I do the training and healing, then I go back out, got it?”
“I know. Get some rest.” He said, nodding. But you saw the relief on his face.
You saw the love you didn’t deserve.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That “other thing” Coulson had mentioned was something that you really, really did not want to do. You hated it. And Daisy saw it. You did not even try to hide the hatred for it as she waited with you by the door to the entrance. It was a friend, sure. But his profession was not something you wanted the services of.
You didn’t want therapy.
“I’ll be back as soon as you know, Y/NN.” Your sister told you, putting a hand on your shoulder and giving it a squeeze.
You just moved your eyes to the gauntlet. She was going, you weren’t.
She could get hurt, and you wouldn’t be there to stop that.
“…You got this.” She said. She had been talking there during your reflection, but you had only caught the last part of it.
With one last tap on the shoulder, she left.
Great, just you and the door now.
You rose a hand, after closing your eyes and trying to prepare yourself as best as you could.
Your hand hit the door three times. Then there was silence.
Was he not in? Oh, please say that –
“Come in, Y/N.” He said from the other side.
Fucker.
You opened the door, seeing him give you that warm therapist smile you always hated. They always looked high. And, sometimes with the beliefs they held, it sure seemed like it.
“Why don’t you take a seat?” He asked, gesturing to said seat opposite him.
You closed the door, doing just that.
Your bags hit the bag as hard as you could. You felt May’s stare on your as you hit it over and over again; each hit more anger fuelled than the last. You were putting your all in.
You were going back out there, no doubt about it.
You turned to May to say something, when the bag came back and hit you to the ground. You rolled on the floor but found yourself staying there for a moment.
“Again.” May said. She waited, to her credit, after saying that.
Slowly, you got back up. In a way, it was at least a win for someone to be treating you like normal; treating as you as you deserved to be treated.
“I’m not.” May told you as she stopped the bag from swinging and held it ready for you.
“What are you, a clairvoyant?” You asked as you finally got back up and found your breath again, blowing some hair out of your face.
May just looked at you with her usual stoicism – or external stoicism, “I’m not. Just perspective.”
You shook your head, not wanting to push it anymore. You just went back to the bag. Or rather, tried to.
“No,” May said, “You’ve ripped open one of your stiches.” You looked at your stomach. There was blood.
Shit, you had.
“Y/N, you have to be more careful.” Jemma told you as she went to work on your torn stich, cleaning up the blood around it as well.
“Oh god, not you too.” You groaned, both out of exasperation and pain from Jemma doing your stich.
Fitz looked over at you at your groan and choice of words; the man was someone who knew of the thoughts that were probably going through your head when you said that; what from his dad and the kids at school.
He knew of them too well. And, when he met your eyes, and he silently told you that, he saw a sense of relief from you.
A look of relief that he wasn’t going to try force you to believe what they said; that it wasn’t just faux positivity and faux concern.
Speaking of your thoughts on that, “Caring isn’t a sin, Y/N. We just want you to be ok.” She said with such earnest, that you almost believed her.
You just gave her a smile that was not a happy one, “Yeah, well. Self-destruction is just a part of being a Johnson. So, blame it on genes.”
She had finished the stitching, but she had paused with cleaning up after herself and looked at you with hurt. You held her look for a second before looking away and clearing your throat.
Oops.
“When did they find out about you and HYDRA?” Andrew asked.
“We going back that far? You want me to talk to you about the dinosaurs next?” He chuckled, but then –
“Avoidance, just like when we first met.”
You shrugged, “I like you, Andy. But, this is pointless. Guess you need that pay check though, huh?”
He didn’t take it personally; mainly as he’d had worse thrown at him before, “I’m not getting paid for this one. I offered,” That one made you raise an eyebrow, “You’re a good person, Y/N. Daisy was the one who called me.”
Ah, “Bet she was.” You said in a voice that was an attempt at monotone.
He heard the conflict however, “Look, Y/N, just from this, I can tell that you aren’t fully ready to go back out there yet.”
You didn’t want to hear that, “Only way I can get better is if I go out there. Not stay here.”
He nodded, putting his pad down and leaning forward, “Whenever you do, you do know that these will still continue?” He asked.
You nodded, but sighed, “Yeah.”
It had been a few weeks now, and Daisy had come back with some scrapes. She was with you on the gun range, watching you load the gun up and aim it up at the target. She didn’t say anything, she just watched you pull the trigger.
If HYDRA – If HYDRA was good for one thing, it was getting you good at aiming. At fighting. At surviving in the world of SHIELD.
She watched as the shots hit the target, all decently close together despite the distance.
You had been winning every so often in sparing, so you were healing. That was good.
Your watches then went off. There was a mission.
It was a big one, HYDRA was after the Inhuman that had caused major damage. Coulson was ordering all hands on deck.
You looked to him at the order, and he saw your want; he saw your demand, “Andrew? He asked, looking to his friend.
Andrew looked like he wanted to say not; but instead –
“Use this as a training mission,” Oh thank god, “But, I want Daisy to keep an eye on them.”
Daisy nodded, “Like a hawk. We’ll be attached by the hip.”
So, not completely off the hook. But close.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hell, Daisy even watched you on the Quinjet over. You, meanwhile, were in your own world looking at the pad and learning all you could about the target; they had fire powers, and had lost control with it. And HYDRA were already on the scene. There had been casualties, but they hadn’t been from HYDRA.
She watched as you took in all that information, she saw how your eyes went over the words and knew there was a plan forming in your head.
God she wished she had telepathy, she would do anything to find out what this plan was. Sure, Andrew had asked her to watch over you, but she was going to do that anyway.
You were her sibling, you were her friend and she loved you. So, of course she was going to do without being asked.
That, and you were just cleared for this mission. And it was a big one.
Jemma had made you a new outfit, one with more armour around. You weren’t bullet proof.
One thing you weren’t was fast. This armour, as you felt from even going onto the Quinjet, had made you slower. Made you more of a target.
Ironic, given the reason why your best friend made it for you. But, still, she was trying. You appreciated that about her.
You had your normal vest one, but this added part of it on the outfit was unnecessary.
You had arrived, and you all split up to help survivors first. It looked like a meteor wreck with the flames and burning cars around the place. The cries for help mixed in with the exclamations from HYDRA.
Civilians first. You knew that. You knew that they had to get out first before you even attempted to get the Inhuman out. That was if HYDRA hadn’t dealt with them first.
So, you got to work.
With your armour, you had almost fell under the weight of it all, had Daisy not caught you and helped you back up, “I gotta get this thing off –”
“Y/N, no.” Daisy said as you both helped a child out of a car and sent them back to the Quinjet.
“I ain’t doing shit with this on. I can apologise to Simmons, later.” She hated that you had a point here. She nodded.
You shed the armour outfit Jemma had made but you kept the vest on.
“So, HYDRA.” Andrew said.
“HYDRA. Yeah, they…that happened.” He nodded.
“It did.”
“I’m just happy Daisy got to be with SHIELD and not them. She got to keep some of that innocence. I think…I think it’s gone now. But, she had it for longer.” You said, looking away from him. But, he did note that you were opening up more.
He hadn’t written a single thing in his pad, his eyes just on you, “What happened to yours?”
“I was never as preppy as her. I just – at the orphanage, it was a…I don’t know, not kind. HYDRA though, that was something else. You had to fight to get through that. And – I don’t know – I guess, after a while, I just got tired of that. Then they found me. And…I knew it was Daisy. But, I’d seen her before and thought it was real.”
“So, seeing her helped you fight again?”
You shook your head, “Seeing her made me want to fight for her. The Y/N she knew died when HYDRA nabbed me. Yet, she didn’t seem to care.”
“She cares about you.”
“She cares about a version of me that’s not there anymore. You’ve seen how she is. She’s walking on eggshells.”
HYDRA had found you guys. They weren’t too happy.
You and Daisy found yourself pinned down against that same car, only the child was gone now. HYDRA were relentless. They always were.
“We have the Inhuman. Go!” You heard one of them yell. No, you couldn’t fail. Not now.
“Cover me.” You said to your sister. You didn’t even give her time to ask about your plan, you just bolted to another car across the road.
You both had radios, of course. But she exclaimed your name without using it. You heard it. Then you felt the vibrations as she quaked an empty car at the HYDRA agents shooting at you.
“And what about Daisy?” Andrew asked.
“What about her?” You posed, tilting your head and squinting your eyes, trying to catch his angle.
“Don’t you think she’d be devested if you die?”
You shrugged, “She has them. They’d get her through it.”
“And you don’t think they’d feel your loss either?”
Again, you shrugged, “Daisy’s the star player on our team. Mack, Daisy, May, Yoyo are the muscle in more ways than one. Jemma and Fitz are the brains, Coulson’s the leader of our little ship. I’m just extra muscle. Besides, they would grieve then find someone else. You know how us Johnson’s are with connecting with people; fucking thrive off it.”
You had left Daisy in the wind, chasing the crashed and burning jeep that held the Inhuman. There were some HYDRA agents left, those that had crawled out of the car you had quickly shot. That just left the Inhuman.
He was a child, around your age.
Jesus.
He cowered from you, “Please don’t hurt me.” Was all he begged.
You holstered your weapon, crouching down with your hands up, “I’m not going to. I’m not, I promise.”
“They said they’d take care of me. I’m a monster.”
You shook your head, “You’re not. You’re not. I promise. We just want to help.”
As you reached for him, his arm started to light up with cracks of fire.
Then it all went black.
“—on. Come on, Y/N, open your eyes. – ave to open your eyes!” You heard your sister’s voice proclaim through the ringing in your ears and darkness of your eyes.
Slowly, your eyes opened, and you saw Daisy above you with those tears in her eyes once again, some of them even spilling out. When she saw you, she let out a breath of relief, “The team are on their way. They’re on their way. You just have to hold on.” She said, not caring how much her voice wobbled or how shaky her hands were. She just kept her hands over your wound and kept talking.
“How bad is it?” You asked, after a struggle for breath.
She shook her head, “Bad. Burns and… and a bit of rubble went through you. I didn’t take it out.” She said, words rushed.
“No – no, that’s good…that’d just make it worse…” You trailed off, eyes blurring for a moment.
“What happened to the kid?” You asked, blinking to fight to stay awake.
“Combusted. Couldn’t control it.”
Your head hit the floor again, “Shit…I’m sorry, Daisy.”
She shook her head, her tone firmer when she spoke this time, “You have nothing to be sorry for, Y/N. It’s ok. We’ll save the next one. Right now, we just have to save you.”
Again, your vision went blurry, “No, no. No, Y/N, no!” Your sister cried out.
The world went black again.
Coming back to consciousness, you didn’t feel the normal hand of your sister in your own. For a moment, you thought yourself alone. However, looking to the seat she would normally be in, you found that to be a lie.
Andrew as there instead, “There they are. Welcome back.” He said with his usual cool smile.
You were confused, “Where’s Daisy? Where is everyone?”
Andrew took note of the empty lab, “It’s late, and Coulson had a meeting about your mission. Daisy wanted to stay, trust me. But, I managed to convince her to give us a moment.”
“Look, Doc –”
“You wanted to help the kid. And I understand that. But, I only want to help you too, Y/N. All your friends do. You should’ve seen them when you came in, they wouldn’t leave the lab until Jemma gave you the words that you were stable. Even then, most still stayed.”
“Even Elena?”
“Even Elena. They’re your friends, Y/N. They’re not just going to drop you when you come back injured.”
“Yeah, but, that’s normal –”
“In this life, yes. But, you’re a friend before an agent.” He said.
Your head hit the pillow again, “I stayed with Daisy after Quinn shot him. Daisy wouldn’t leave me alone when they found me from HYDRA. She didn’t care that I was quiet; she didn’t care that I was not me. She just –”
“Loved you for who you are now?” You nodded, “That’s never going to change, Y/N. You’re worth more than a mission, or anything. You’re a human being.”
You looked at him, and he saw the pain in your eyes; he the saw the vulnerability, “I know.” You said, voice cracking, “I just, don’t want to seem selfish.”
“They care about you and want you to fight for yourself as much as them. They want you to see that you matter.”
You nodded, taking a moment to let the words set, “I wanna continue the sessions, both as and after I’ve healed. I won’t fight you on it anymore. I – I don’t know how well it’ll go, but –”
“I’ll go tell Coulson,” He said, standing up and giving you a genuine smile, “Get some rest, Y/N. Daisy will come get you in the morning.”
As he left, you called his name, “Thank you.”
He nodded, “You’re my friend too.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And, true to his word, Daisy was there. She put your arm around her shoulder and helped you to the wheelchair that Jemma had brought over. As you sat in it, Fitz gave you a shoulder pat and a squeeze. You put your hand over his.
“I’ll see you after therapy, Y/N.” Daisy said, as Jemma wheeled you out.
“I’m sorry about my stiches. I mean, the ones from before and the amount now.” You said to your best friend.
“It’s alright, I’ll always be there to patch them up. And talk, if you want. Or, even just some company. Or –”
“Thank you, Jemma,” You said with a laugh before you ended on a smile, “Seriously, thank you. I – I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
She knocked on Andrew’s door before she looked down to you with her own smile, “And we wouldn’t know what to do without you, either.”
He had moved the chair you were in last time, instead you just stayed in your wheelchair. He didn’t mind though.
You told him; you told him about the orphanage and your limited time there; you told you him about how you and Daisy ran away together, but you then how HYDRA grabbed you and stole you and your life; you told him about how your already dark thoughts turned darker and darker at HYDRA, how it stole everything you had; you told him about meeting your dad, a monster who turned out to just be misguided and a mother who turned out to be that monster even if a damaged woman who fell too far; you told him about how with Coulson you were doubtful of him as a father figure at first, but about how he tried; you told him about how May seemed cold, but deep down wasn’t; how Mack would always give you the best hugs when needed; how Elena would speed around to get you things when you needed it and had an energy to her that was unmatched; you told him how Fitz and you would spend hours in each others company, occasionally talking but mainly sat in silence and each other’s presence; how Jemma always patched you up and fussed over you before and after missions; you told him about Daisy and how she was always up for anything with you – food, film, tv show, just talking, spending the night together, whatever; you told him about how she told you she never stopped looking for you; you told him about how she was always ready with reassurance that she’d never leave you – how she’d wake you up after nightmares of HYDRA and chase them away.
Your conversation was broken when your watched buzzed. There was a mission.
However, this time, you turned the dial once, meaning ‘no’.
“This is more important right now. They got this.” You said, now sure of your words.
Andrew nodded, and just let you continue.
He did, however, let you send a text message to Daisy wishing her good luck. She just sent back a heart emoji.
You were loved, not just as an agent, but as a friend, sister, daughter.
You mattered to them. For once it wasn’t just words proving that. It was actions that had always been there.
And that would continue to be there, for as long as the lived.
#love#aos#Jamie I can’t remember if I reblogged it when you originally posted it#but I just read it again and wow#it’s giving me some major s2 feels#i miss Andrew haha

🧡Rowan, I can't even put into words how much this Christmas gift meant to me. I've probably read it about 3 times already!! It's so soft and so cute 🥺 Thank you so much for thinking of me at this time of year. I know I haven't been very active since last winter, and this really put a smile on my face.
For @emcon-imagines
*************
Spending Christmas with Wanda Maximoff
- Christmas with Wanda is always very magical.
- She absolutely loves to wake you up with hot chocolate on Christmas morning.
- And when you come downstairs, the place is completely decked out.
- She has spent ages picking out the perfect gift for you, and her eyes are practically sparkling as she watches you open it.
- After you've finished opening presents, you cook Christmas dinner together, which Wanda is very good at, it ends up being perfect.
- You spend most of the time supervising whilst she organises it.
- After dinner, Wanda uses her magic to make it appear as though it is snowing.
- And the two of you stand outside for ages watching it fall.
- It ends up being the best Christmas you've had.
***
Merry Christmas, Emcon 🎄

Is this an active account??
Currently, not really. I’ve been extremely busy with life, as well as my work on my longer projects over @emcon-ocs. That said, it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t ever revive this account—I’m just dormant for now while I focus on other projects I’m passionate about!!
