(there will still be a post tomorrow to keep on track)#The original 3 panel comic idea was fine but the point of this new schedule was to take time to push myself a bit more.#I was taking a look back through some comic artists I felt inspired by #and I really loved how Lynda Barry fills her gutters with patterns and doodles!#Obviously I'm not going as absolutely wild with it as she does but it was a great exercise!#I truly think the gutters are the most important and most overlooked part of any comic. There's lots going on in that space.#It's the same with timeskips. The implied movement between moments that we don't see changes depending on how wide that gap is #You're here for the funny tags so here's some that ties this time talk together:#I think LWJ was thinking about that second note from day 2 but it took him 7 days of hazing to commit it to paper.#I think he sends it a day later and immediately regrets it. Chasing down the messenger and everything.#You know if something actually happened to his brother he would never ever forgive himself for putting the bad vibes out there.#Third time skip was the hardest because there was so many possible flavours of jokes here. Day 8/9 was a personal favourite.#day 14 was also funny (week by week). I think the debate on 'how long does lwj take to catch feelings' is more or less:#'how long does it take for him to arrive at a particular stage of grief and yearning (and awareness of it all)#This is a symphony. There is an act by act structure. Every day he is fighting to keep his old sensibilities. He is losing so badly.#(I'll be returning to the main comic soon but there is more of this AU to come!)

Was there any classes you had to take to be a storyboard artist? I’m thinking of going into a field like that!

I took an online course (Not telling which one because their whole thing significantly dropped in quality over time)

and that was pretty much it. But to be fair - I had decent amount of experience of drawing comics beforehand. It helped significantly because I was already familiar with the concept of visual storytelling through composition and expressions.

I was like. CRAZY passionate about learning to storyboard so I was doing all the homework and watching aaall the lessons and then they were giving optional homework for people who wanted to really lock in and optional-optional little things that no one even expected us to draw. But I was making ALL of them. All the time.

So when the course ended my teacher was like goddamn you got a lot of energy in you huh? And he contacted one producer he knew and basically went "hey I have one student who has zero experience but will work and learn really hard"

And that producer went "Okay I trust you" and hired me without interview haha

#never regretted becoming a storyboard artist #it's the perfect job for my adhd brain #you draw fast. you draw a lot. the things you draw constantly changing #the mood is also constantly different. today I draw comedy. tomorrow I draw someone losing their parents. fun stuff #and another fun part #you literally can convert all the shows you're watching into experience #I never forget how after half a year of working at that studio my boss went #yeah you need to ease a little bit with your expressions and make them more fun #Here's a document. It has a “ go watch Teenage mutant ninja turtles” in it. and a link #ahahah #oh also one of my producers kept sending me Naruto references to throw in the animatics #great job #fair warning - you will be expected to draw A LOT. And not just draw but also like. being creative constantly #if you like just being told what to draw and not thinking about it maybe you need to consider being an animator or layout/background artist

TSAMS, EAPS EPISODE REVIEW! 👏 👏 👏

... I didn't know who MUCH I needed this piece of art in my life till now! Kiwi THANK YOU FOR DRAWING THIS! This is gonna be my banner for a bit. Okay, onto the actual review. We finally got some Sun and Solar bonding moments, and I'm happy about that. I noticed a lot of people mentioned that Sun and Solar didn't really hang out a lot, and I thought "No they have to have hanged out like this before?" Well, color me surprised they didn't really hang out a lot. So, I'm glad we got an episode with just them bonding. Jack has become a stinkin' criminal. He stole a bugatti! Do you know how expensive that car is?! (Seriously, do you cause I don't.) Solar, you might want to do some reprogramming or teach Jack morals cause at this rate he'll steal the declaration of Independence! Move over, Nick Cage!

Solar is still wrapping his head around the new moon/Nexus situation, and I don't blame him. Imagine waking up from being dead only to discover your best friend/brother/cousin has become dangerously unstable and tried to kill one of your family members. Ya, you'd need a few days to process all that, too. But I'm glad Solar has Sun and the others to lean on. I am still very worried about what will happen when Solar and Nexus meet again. Pray for him y'all.

First gaming video of the Eclipse and Puppet show! Yay! 👏 👏 👏 👏 @damien-candle did an amazing job on everyone. I love how they draw Foxy with his little scruff, and Earth just looks adorable as always. Okay, now, spoiler alert in 3..2..1

That's not much of a surprise, but what is a surprise is EARTH IS HERE! She popped by for a visit. I hope we get an episode where she explores this universe with Eclipse and Puppet. That would be fun. Eclipse is surprisingly good at Game of life. Maybe it's just luck, but my headcanon us he's just a master of all board games!

I write fragile on a dozen boxes salvaged from recycling I forgot to take out before I knew I was moving and my hand shakes even more each time. The lines bleed off the box corners and into me. I'm fragile, you see.

#poem #poetry #spilled ink #spilled thoughts #long story short i have made choices in my life such that my only option when i hit this present juncture #was to move home and i am not handling the lack of choice well #in my first year living here especially i bought beautiful fragile things because i love beautiful fragile things and because i thought #i was on the path that my next move would be my last one. i was going to buy a home and that would be it and i'd only need to pack up #my whole life once more and so i could justify the vintage vases and such. but the past couple of years have been brutal on me #and i've made choices that i stand by and choices that i don't and now i'm moving home and it's less than ideal but i'll make it work #perhaps this is short story long #anyway. before i first moved in my roommate texted me from home depot because she and her boyfriend were at home depot #and i was at work at the time. and she wanted to know what color i wanted my room because they were gonna paint my room that day #and i didn't have time to make a decision and she's an artist with a great eye so i sent her my pinterest decor board and said maybe a gree #like this kind of green? and she got this gorgeous green reminiscent of a paris green that looks amazing with all my art on the walls #but i just had to take the art down. i'm in the middle of the task actually. and now it's just this big green expanse #and i'm not feeling so good about leaving this place #but the way i felt so safe and so loved when i got that text and when i got here and saw that the room was painted bc they wanted me to sta #the past few years have been not so good in a lot of ways like i said but this place was an island of peace for me when things were rough #anyway. fragile. thanks for listening

Alpine Inn GoFundMe

Finally! The little inn that I had stayed at finally has a GoFundMe! These two are such nice guys with such a cozy inn that my spouse and I really enjoyed and sadly did not get the chance to stay in during my birthday trip in August (that I regret not doing now).

The inn is destroyed and their insurance is not wanting to help them. This was their home and livelyhood. Although they are thankfully safe along with the guests that were in the inn during the time, they need help. Please consider donating to help the Alpine Inn during these times.
