KokedamaĀ is a ball of soil, covered with moss, on which an ornamental plant grows. The idea has its origins inĀ Japan. Kokedama is also called poor man's bonsai. It's made of a plant placed within some soil and peat moss wrapped in a layer of sphagnum moss. It is then tied with the help of twine or rope. It was so beautiful to work on. Getting the hands dirty, molding it into a ball to get to the perfect shape and then tying it all together with twine!!! I've had two instances of forgetfulness in the last 24 hours so it's time to use tumblr as a therauptic diary šŸ˜Ž
The first was last night, when I left my cup in my brother's room and I have no recollection of ever even going in there with it. The second was earlier, when I made a chicken and cucumber sandwich and completely missed actually putting on the chicken and I didn't realise until after I'd eaten 3/4 of it.
So here's the question folks: did I a) dissociate, b) have the 'forgetfulness' symptom of my adhd develop, c) just forget like normal/neurotypical people do sometimes, or d) have the impacts of my somewhat stressful day of work catch up on me?
If it helps, my day was stressful because I made two mistakes caused by forgetting minor things and then my boss got annoyed šŸ™ƒ I forgot which plate needed to have the gluten free stuff on and nearly had a lady have an allergic reaction, and then I forgot to note when a customer wanted his takeaway so it was ready half an hour earlier than it should have been. It's not quite the same forgetfulness as the other two, but it comes under the same umbrella.
Any input from anyone would help a lot, even if it's just a comment saying you had a similar experience!! Idk what's up with me or if I need to go to an actual therapist to figure out my brain brain and go on medication

endometriosis anon: mine was so bad that they actually stopped my periods with a combination of nexplanon + progesterone pills. it's not fun emotionally, as especially progesterone can cause a lot of emotional changes, but the pain is gone for the most part because of the lack of periods. it's an option that's there if it's too unbearable pain :(
Similarly, I no longer have a period per therauptic treatmentā€”hence I take an active birth control pill every single day. I had not heard of this route prior so thank you, sincerenly, for sharing. I hope we can instill within those suffering some iota of hope as this disorder isnā€™t totally unmanageable. Sending my love and strength to you.

lil update
not that anyone cares, but I just like getting my thoughts out in the open, itā€™s therauptic etcĀ
honestly feel like Iā€™ve had the longest winter break! finished uni before my birthday so around mid december and Iā€™m still not not back for another weekĀ
Iā€™m also not starting my new job until next week either and so Iā€™ve literally had about 7 weeks just chilling. donā€™t get me wrong, Iā€™m not complaining, but Iā€™m also looking forward to some structure in my life again!
got 2/4 uni results back in which I got an A & a B, so Iā€™m happy about that! however thereā€™s still two more to get :( praying that Iā€™ll have passed everything and thatā€™s semester one DONE WITH
over my time off Iā€™ve been back at the gym and eating healthy again, itā€™s been so difficult! Iā€™m currently following a new gym work out and itā€™s been proper hard work, Iā€™ve been aching EVERYWHERE. been eating relatively healthy as well, had a slip up at the weekend when I was hungover and just had the overwhelming urge to eat shit
not lost any weight since I last checked which is frustrating me, although I do need to remember that Iā€™m using weights a lot more so Iā€™m likely to lose weight slower
got a fun week ahead of catchcing up with friends and enjoying the last of my time off before itā€™s back to the grind, excited!Ā Ā
so yea, apart from that itā€™s full steam ahead with positive thoughts, setting goals and making them happen.Ā

I really want more TV shows where a character with a mood disorder isnā€™t just the butt of a joke. I want more TV where using therauptic language is used without scoffing. I want more nuance representation about mental illness. If I had that I think I wouldnā€™t have fought getting better so hard. Iā€™ve never seen a meaningful show about getting better. Other than Crazy Ex Girlfriend.

Kohei Nawa: Artist Research
I looked at Kohei Nawa work as I liked the aspect of how he created artwork through using the whole exhibition as their bases of their installation. Because by doing this you feel as though you can immerse yourself, in the presence and how it makes you feel.
Whilst looking at Nawa artwork my favitoure piece was the cloud installation, as I wasĀ  Immediately drawn to the way the material looked soft touch. Whilst still looking being able to have a strong foundation to support the shapes, another aspect I liked was the way it was quite therauptic, and it made the sculpture have a calmingĀ  presence to it. Even though the materials themselves have been distorted with, you almost forget this when viewing the work. Because of the way the artist has subtly used the materials to it fullest potential, you donā€™t straight away notice this. Until you question the way the installation has been created.
I want to take the aspect of how the artist has used the whole space of the exhibition to showcase how the materials can be showcased in a large space. Without feeling as though the artist has constricted, the way they have created the artwork to fit into the space. As well as this I feel as though if I did this instead of focusing on the final product, I will be able toĀ  focus more on how I could use the material to itā€™s fullest potential and strengths.

okay since i know iā€™m not going to be actually doing my work and kind of feeling anxious now because of all these feelings and emotions that i have to dump that iā€™ve been holding on to since like maybe the summer? lol so itā€™s goign to be a long fucking post and i hope no one reads it and if you do thanks for reading through all my bs that iā€™ve gone through
so this summer i got into a car accident like literally a week into my summer break on my way to work at school and tbh i wasnā€™t tired or anything but i guess i was just being a bit too careless maybe way too careless and too excited about the music that i was listening to that i got distracted and hit the car in front of me just as it was hitting traffic and itā€™s bullshit but life happens and that car hit the car in fron tof them and i was alone and thankfully no one was hurt or anything and at that time i made so many mistakes like literally the minute i hit the car basically i kept making mistakes well first of all i hit the car two cars in fact that was like a collision second i didnā€™t get their contact info like their phone number and shit so i had to wait until the police report came out which i didnā€™t call the police btw it was the car in the middle that did and then it cost me money to get the police report plus the transportation fee for lyft was not cheap and then never ever tell the other people your weakness in which they can take advantage of you and the communications between these three people were very very difficult it was so fucking stressful i remember every time my phone rang i just wanted to cry and i could listerally feel my body tense up just looking at my screen so afraid to open it but i canā€™t not open it because thats irresponsible of me anyway it was a big big big lesson i learned and something that i wish it was better managed but life happens and itā€™s not always going to be smooth-sailing and im just glad that i learned my lessonĀ
im already getting tense again just writing about this x.x
i do have to say it definitely helped that i was able to distract myself with work at the optometry (shoutout to allison) for the hookup because it gave me the experience and i know now that i do not want to do optometry no longer which iā€™ve been thinking about since the previous summer and the lesson i learned from this is that never ever go into something without knowing what its going to be about what i mean by this is that never make a big decision until you hae some experience and know that you like or hate it or donā€™t like itĀ
after working and saving money and spending money i made it to taiwan and literally within the first two weeks i already spent half of my money that i thought would less me for three months which it really should i actually have no freaking idea where all my money went and thatā€™s on my part not keeping track of my money in the first place but then i was so äŗ‚äøƒå…«ē³Ÿ when i arrived in taiwan and now that i know iā€™ve been keeping track of my expense and it literally does not make sense that all of the money i exchanged was gone within the first two weeks according to the expense that i keep track of now itā€™s been like three weeks and i havent even used up all of that money i lost in the first two weeks so i literally dont know what happened but itā€™s okay life goes on and now i know to always keep an eye and not be like so fucking careless
but letā€™s put in some good stuff iā€™ve bene listening to hyukoh and offonoff and iā€™ve been really loving that life if only i could see hyukoh live twice in los angeles and arcadia damnit im so fucking mad but itā€™s okay life goes on and i know iā€™ll have another chance to see them
and iā€™ve been watching hyoriā€™s bed and breakfast and itā€™s been very therauptic to me and i aspire to have a life like her
currently listening to paul and it gives me soulĀ
anyway before i restarted writing this whole thing i wrote about my feelings of being on study abroad and to be completely honest, i dont feel that im on study abroad like is that strange is that manatory to feel buecasuse everyone talked about how theyā€™re on study abroad and feels like a new environment but like to me taiwan literally feels like another home that i havenā€™t been in a long time like is it because im asian and i was born in asia that i feel this way or am i just recognizing my feelings and emotions in the wrong way and when i see snaps of my other friends on study abroad esp the ones in europe im just like wow theyā€™re on study abroad but i dont efeel like im on studsy abroad even though i really am and this computer is so fucking slow rign now it cant catch up to what im typingĀ
iā€™ve talked to nick about this feeling before and itā€™s just really strange like is our feelings normal like i need validations that this is okay too because i didnt expect it to be like thisĀ
i really like my classmates and my class and my teacher i love all of them and we have a good vibe and get along really well and the classroom is set up int he way you know whatā€™s coming so i like that structure and i love how we listen to music and get off topics sometimes it makes class really fun and the teacher tries to do it liek that tooĀ
as for the poeople in my program well i basically hang out Ā around soka people like nick sumire and ryan almost all the time which is kind of good and kind of not good at the same time like i know i should be going out and seeing other poeple but at the same time i like being in the comfort of them and tbh if it wasnā€™t for them i really would have a breakdown and im really greatful that theyā€™re here and nccu kind of feels like soka if i dont get out of the routine that im in and so i really need to make an effort to go out like i really felt that last week and i was like shit this is soka all over again like nccu is literally surrounded by nature like all the greens and itā€™s so nice iā€™ve been way too lin love with the color forest green and nature green so itā€™s niceĀ
also if nick wasnā€™t here i dont think iā€™ll be doing crazy things like biking to fucking danshui at 1am in the morning and pulling an all nighter and shit or like pulling another allnighter that one tiem we went out to drink and ryan was so fucking drunk okay he wasnt drunk but he wasntā€™ feeling well enough to go back to school so we fucking waited on the sidewalk for 4:30 until he felt better and i actually liek the dynamics of the four of us nick, sumire, ryan and me i think thereā€™s a good balance and enough craziness and enough practicalness you couls prob tell whos the crazy one and whoā€™s the practical one lolĀ
and iā€™ve realized that iā€™ve been more carefree and give less shit and just been enjoying life to the fullest dont know if its because im in taiwan but if it is then i hope i can still be as joyful and as carefree back in america and just life life and whatever happens happens for a reason and donā€™t get too stuck on life liek that tattoo i got was tehe whole meaning of this hahahaha
and i miss all my friends and sometimes something always reminds me of them and it just makes me ęƒ³åæµä»–們 but itā€™s okay because i know i will see them so try not to think too hard about it bc taiwan wil be gone sooner than i think and i dont want to have regretsĀ
and im in a really cute cafe with katie and winnie and i just snap-videoed my best friend bitch she should be asleep but she wasnā€™t but iā€™ll let her be bc itā€™s her last weekend before school starts for her and between today and yesterday i videoed friends like thuy, hung jet, dayoon, megan, and lucy and rachel and it makes me happy to see them living their livesĀ

Soooo, yesterday I quit my workout after only 15 minutes. I felt lethargic, stressed, and simply did NOT want to workout. I tried it and it was HARD, so I gave up after a while because I knew that I just wasn't feeling it. ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ TODAY, however, I told myself to try that same workout again. No distractions. Just breathe and focus on the workout. It was super therauptic and when I finished, I thought about how happy and proud of myself I felt. ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ā¤ You see, I'd forgotten that when you're on a fitness journey, some days will be better than others. Some days you'll crush it and others you'll just be happy to survive it. The KEY is to keep going. Keep giving effort. Keep pressing forward and MOST IMPORTANTLY, be your own competition.āœŒ (at Charlotte, North Carolina)

What are the signs and symptoms of Muscle weakness and how can it be diagnosed
New Post has been published on https://womensdiary.com/what-are-the-signs-and-symptoms-of-muscle-weakness-and-how-can-it-be-diagnosed.html
What are the signs and symptoms of Muscle weakness and how can it be diagnosed
What is Muscle weakness?
It is defined as a disorder in which there is a problem in the nerves as well as muscles. It can lead to the weakness of muscles as well as fatigue. It is also known as muscle weakness and is due to the use of circulating anti bodies. It is due to the use of acetyl choline receptors which are present at the junction where nerves and muscles are present. It affects the stimulation of neuro transmitter acetyl choline. It is treated medically with the help of inhibitors of immune suppressants. It can also be treated with the help of thymectomy. It must be differentiated from the congenital myasthenic syndromes. They are quite similar to these disorders.
What are the signs and symptoms of Muscle weakness?
It includes the easy fatigue; muscles become weak when there is an activity. They improve a lot when the person rests. There are few muscles which are affected more such as the muscles of eye as well as eyelids, face expression as well as which help in the process of talking, chewing as well as swallowing. There are few muscles which control the breathing along with the neck as well as limb movement. The physical examination is quite helpful. The symptoms are not continuous and the onset is sudden. In this disorder the diagnosis is delayed. The early symptom is the presence of weakness in the muscles of eye. There is a problem in the swallowing as well as in the speech. The weakness of muscles can be localized or can involve the muscles of eye. It can also involve the breathing muscles later on. In later stages it can lead to double vision as well as the drooping of both eyelids. It can lead to weakness in the arms, fingers as well as legs and neck. There is a problem in the swallowing as well as shortness in breath followed by the impairment in speech. In case of crisis there is a paralysis of the muscles of respiration. One needs a ventilation help so that the life can be sustained. The condition gets worse if there is an infection, fever as well as stress. There can be an adverse reaction to medicines also. The autonomic nervous system regulates the muscles of heart.
How Muscle weakness can be diagnosed?
It includes the use of visual examination and a patient history. It is quite difficult to diagnose. One can go for the neuro physiology also. The symptoms are difficult to recognize. The fatigue can be known by the help of physical examination. One can use ice in the case of weak muscles. It improves their function. In few cases medicines are also helpful and are considered to be of auto immune disorder. The physical examination includes the use of eyes which help to look upward as well as side wards. One must look at the feet when the person lies for a minute. The arms must be stretched for a minute and one must walk few steps on both the heels as well as toes. One can go for quick sit ups. There is a special test known as the peek sign in which there is a separation of the lid margins and one can see the sclera. One can also go for the blood tests which help us to know about the infection. It also helps to know about the presence of anti bodies. There are anti bodies which are present in the one form or other. In few situations like the presence of cancer in lung one can go for the test of other antibodies. The fibers of muscles get tired very easily and they do not repond to stimulation. The fatigue ability of muscles can be measured with the help of electrical impulses. It is known as repetitive nerve stimulation test. The most sensitive single fibre is diagnosed with the help of electro myo graphy. In this case a single electrode is put into the muscle so that the electric potentials can be recorded. The two different muscle fibres belong to the similar motor unit also helps to know about the diagnosis. The other test which is helpful is known as the edro phonium test. It is not done regularly and is done in cases where there are other investigations are not feasible. It uses a complex product known as the edrophonium chloride. It has the ability to stop the breakdown of acetyl choline with the help of choline esterase. It increases the level of acetyl choline for some time. It is quite helpful in the cases where eyes are involved.
Imaging in the form of chest x rays is quite helpful. It may complicate the diagnosis. But it may also tell about the increase in mediastinum and it tells about the thymoma. One can also go for computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Spirometry which is a pulmonary function test is quite helpful to know about the functions of lung. It tells about the breathing ability of patient. The vital capacity which is forced one helps to know about the weakness of muscles. The adequacy of ventilation tells about the negative inspiratory force which is referred as the NIF. In severe cases respiratory failure may also occur as there is a paralysis of the respiratory muscles. One can go for the biopsy of muscles which must be done at last. IgG antibodies can be recognized at the neuro muscular junction. It is done mainly with the help of immune fluorescence. The electron microscope is also quite helpful.
How Muscle weakness can be treated?
It includes that there is no specific treatment for this disorder. One must identify the cause for it and must act against it. The two possible treatments are medicine as well as surgery. It is done with the help of inhibitors of immune suppressants. It can also be treated with the help of thymectomy. In case of emergency one can go for the plasma pheresis which helps to remove the antibodies from the circulation of blood. The medicines which we use are the acetyl choline esterase inhibitors. They prevent the activity of the acetyl choline. They improve the activity of muscle by decreasing the function of natural enzyme. It includes the cholinesterase which breaks the acetyl choline in the motor end of plate. The neuro transmitter can stimulate the receptor. The dose is small and is increased initially. It may lead to diarrhea. One can also go for few immune suppressive drugs such as prednisone and cyclo sporine. The patient must be treated with the help of combination of all drugs. It takes few weeks to months so that the effects can be known. In serious circumstances one can go for the plasma pheresis as well as intra venous immune globulins and are referred as the IVIG. Their benefits are short lived.
In case of surgery one must remove the thymus and is known as thymectomy. It is done in the cases of thymoma in which there are cancerous cells. It is not effective in the case of patients with problems in thymoma. In the case of increase in size of thymoma one can go for the therauptic thymectomy. The thymus gland can be removed with the number of causes such as through the neck, sternum or chest. The sternum approach is most important. The approach through neck is not much successful. The tissue which is removed with the thymoma has the ability to grow. They can lead to cancer formation if they are not removed. One must always prefer a sternum approach. Thymoma is quite common in the age group above 40 years. One can also go for resection.
How Muscle weakness can be prevented?
It includes the avoidance of any irritating factor. One must avoid alcohol, tobacco and cigarette smoking.
