feeling quite french this week so it's all mostly french heheha

que du love - ok i'm not the hugest fan of kiddy smile's vocals but everything else in this song is so incredibly nice. it has a bit of a darker tone but the harmonies ARE SO NICE AND COMPLEX AND GREAT AND ANGELE KNOWS WHAT SHE'S DOING and yeah it's calming in a "oh hey a storm is coming" sort of way. i like it.

papaoutai - the most famous song from this guy ever as in it went global and as it should honestly. "where are you, father?" <-- main theme of the song, but the piano paired with the synths are SO GOOD (this is electro kinda btw). stromae just has really nice vocals too and papaoutai also has that "oh hey a storm is coming" feeling. (this is the first french song i ever listened to and it is so good do consider listening to it)

voyage - funky song that i don't get very much (very much therapie taxi style), but it's pretty calm and the buildup to the chorus is really nice (it's not too intense coz the song is inherently pretty chill but it works really well). i think this is more of a "hey the storm is over but i'm calm" sort of song. yes there is a storm happening right now and the music is REFLECTING sorry sorry

la pluie - ok i love love love this song (but it has stromae so that's probably an inherent bias i really like stromae). orelsan has a really nice flow and stromae has really nice vocals and there's a sax that comes in somewhere and cool synths. oh it's about how belgium and normandy are rainy places and those are the places where the artists are from so it's like "yeah where i'm from it's rainy hmmmmMMM"

a peu pres - i recently got into lomepal so this is quite literally one of the 3 songs i know from him but it is such a mood. electric guitar (i think?) + a catchy melody and occasional rap makes it super mellow it's a really good "yeah i'm working when it's raining outside and i like it" sort of song. anyway i really like his voice it is kinda like smooth but also has a very textured tone to it i have no idea if it makes sense or not but yeah give it a listen ^^

I swear this band was the greatest French band that sings in French. Their lyrics are either hilarious or absolutely soul crushing, and sometimes both at the same time. I cannot get enough.

If you couldn't tell, I'm binging the show Taxi. This show has a special place in my heart because I was a cab driver for over 15 years. The most incredible stuff happens in a taxi. I should write a book, but no one would believe the stories because they are so funny and so weird. I should, probably, have a pHD in psychology from that job. If I could've charged extra for the therapy that occurred in my cab, I could've retired a long, long time ago. I lived the show Taxi Cab Confessions. It was a wild ride. Taxi cabs are like Vegas. What happens in your taxi, stays in your taxi. It was the best job that I ever had. I love driving a taxi 🚕 🚖 💛🖤💛 I miss it
