i ate an edible a few hours ago and wow no fucking wonder i've been miserable since October, i have had zero pain control since i quit smoking weed every day. DAMB. this shit does work.

Sometimes I just want to yell because everything HURTS and there’s nothing to be done about it. This is just the way this broken body of mine is. And yeah I can get another surgery and probably feel better for a few years. But it will be back. It will always be back.

And yeah it could be worse. It has been worse. It will be worse again. But sometimes I just want to YELL about how bad it feels right now. And how exhausting it is.

And I don’t want to be told I could go to the ER for stronger pain meds because I know all they’ll do is charge me $$$ and give me a tylonel and shrug and probably also give me covid. That’s not worth it when my pain is only at a 7 and I know the cause. None of this will kill me, it will just make me suffer.

Anyway I overdid it again yesterday and I feel terrible. I’m very unhappy about it. Endometriosis sucks.

Today I went into the city to buy a bike helmet

The first shop I went to had no bike helmets, though their website said they did (it was a chain whose physical locations' stock often differ from the website, so I was prepared for that)

The second shop I went to did have bike helmets! Unfortunately, none of them fit me. One came close but even with the straps as short as they could possibly go, I could fit my hand between my chin and the clip

The third shop I went to did not have bike helmets, though their website said they did

The fourth shop I went to did not have bike helmets. They did, however, have hats! As I had been walking around the city for several hours at this point, in 20° heat, hatless, I thought this might be a nice little treat to myself. A new hat to help me handle the heat and take the sting out of the failure of my attempts at acquiring a helmet.

All of the hats were too big.

I’m not back to cooking as much as I’d like to be, but I’ve been doing a meal or two each week. (This is not a huge deal at all during the summer, ie sandwich season.) Anyway, tonight I threw together some stuff to try to make a risotto. Due to what I added and the flavor profile I chose, it’s halfway between risotto and étouffée, but it is delicious.

Turns out it was not an error at the MRI facility, my insurance (which is literally the best insurance available in my area as an individual) just won't cover it* That is incredibly frustrating, both because what's the damn point of paying so much for health insurance if it doesn't cover testing, and because I get so much stuff from the insurance company about how they support preventative testing and care but when it's time to pay out they won't put their money where their mouth is. *technically they are "covering" it in that it was approved and the total cost will only be what they've negotiated with the MRI provider, but the insurance company isn't covering any of that cost. At all. None of it.
