BnHA is a world filled with such enormous potential to thrive, through its storytelling. Potential discrimination, a world outside of the hero vs villain thing that still has people with quirks. Even within the hero vs villain career there's such diversity! And it's all so underutilised. Not to mention the fact that the plot is stupidly rushed sometimes and the fact that the entire story takes place in only Deku's first year leaves a lot of time empty when it could've been spaced out better. I love the ideas and the characters can be good, but I feel like they aren't used to their fullest potential and that can be infuriating.

I swear to god one of these days were going to see a video of Amaury Guichon and he's going to be making some wings and they are going to look dope as hell, the detail of each feather will be breathtaking, he'll spray paint them to perfection, but as the video goes on, he's not building any sort of winged creature, just the wings. And then there's a human-sized harness (also made of chocolate, somehow, he can do it). And he's attaching the wings to the harness. And he's putting the harness on and he demonstrates how he can flap the wings. And then he'll be off. Out the window and up and up and up. The angst potential alone haunts me. How long do you think he waited for Ford?? When did it start to sink in that nobody was coming to save him, that nobody would miss him? Would anybody even want him back? How long did it take for his anger, his heartbreak, his grief to turn into acceptance and a belief that this was divine retribution? How long did he work, how many jobs did he take, how much wealth did he accrue, how many brushes with death did he have until he believed he’d “earned” the right to go home and see his brother??
