I mean... Not in the hospital...
P.O.V. : You are Ex-Surgeon Samuel finally going home after a hard days work, and Wade, your head mate, wants to watch some TV, so you both look around and end up watching the first episode of Grey's Anatomy. You have to then turn it off because
You're triggered after a lifes-worth of horrible events (a Series of Unfortunate Events, if you will (rr I had to) starting since before you were born)
If you saw this in real life (assuming what you saw was between two staff members), someone would be dead
The body's so tired, you could barely pay attention anyways.
Suddenly, you get defensive because you fell in love with the ER desk lady. Wade's teasing you, saying "lol if you had the chance you'd've done that." This also triggers you further because of another event some years ago involving the same lady and system sabotage. Thankfully, you weren't there to witness it (not are you ready to), but the after guilt is still there. You forgive the insider anyways since it's just banter, but... You know... It still hurts, man.
This is why you are no longer a surgeon.
The end.
i bet those doctors and nurses in hospitals are smooching and fucking each other and having all kinds of heterosexual drama. i wonder if there is a tv programme about this

Samuel
Tumblr media
L - Dietrich, R - Sammy
I don't know if I've actually posted what he looks like yet, so here he is. Maybe more in the future?
Extras under cut (tw on various things, but nothing graphic)
Spoiler-sensitive lore dump:
Samuel and Dietrich are both hosts, but in completely different contexts. Samuel is the regular, day-to-day, while "D" is involved in things related to "family business." Their legal name is (Dr.) Dietrich Samuel Müller, with Samuel being a preferred name since Dietrich is usually associated with their abusive father. System-wise, they both have subsystems, with Dietrich's having more branches.
Dietrich and Sammy are completely unaware of each other, and would hate each other if they met.
Sammy is really just Samuel but younger (about 17-20), and likes party and be the center of attention. He usually spends his time pretending he's a rockstar.
Though not shown here, there is a 4th main alter called "Doc," who usually handles surgery work. Samuel is the social side, while Doc handles the technical aspects, such as leadership and telling people what to do. Needless to say, Doc is very abrasive and quick to anger. He also has a bit of a god-complex.
Samuel, Sammy and Doc are the closest group, as they all appear most often. The Sams are the closest, while Doc takes on their phobias, such as blood.
Dietrich's main trigger is moonlight, with the wolf/werewolf/ulfednar motifs all throughout the system. Some alters are wolves, including the Big Bad Wolf, a threatening persecutor that prowls the inner world. Many other alters that populate the inner world are based on Brothers Grimm stories and other German fairytales. Much of their purposes are still being fleshed out.
Samuel is a vegetarian as meat makes him sick as a psychosomatic reation, where as Dietrich's side is typically more carnivorous. Wolves will never eat plant foods. Cheese is a house staple, and there's probably moldy food in the fridge.
Samuel can't really remember anything before college, and usually forgets he's German.
The reason Samuel associates his name with good things is because it's what his family's maid called him. If the core exists, he would be the most related to it. He calls himself a Christian, hoping that there is a god of some sorts.
Their body is 5'3"

The hardest thing about writing TME is exploring the sheer amount of trauma behind it. Thankfully, I don’t have to delve in too much except for the most important parts, maybe emphasizing the repetitiveness, like:
"This bad thing happened to this child and his siblings so that they each would create a separate personality to their father's liking. Sometimes, this happened, sometimes that happened, but it was all for the same reason, the same goal. They weren't people; at least they weren't supposed to be."
The sheer amount of backstory is complex, and will take a long time even within the narrative to properly flesh out.
I'll have to establish some rules for myself like:
Samuel can't save everyone no matter how much I want him to.
People don't just "change." Only God can do that.
Some important people are going to either die or get really hurt.
We can only change what we can, and should focus on that - the world is big and full of too many evil people.
This is Samuel's discovery of who he wants to be apart from the programming and abuse.

To think that the most craziest thing I ever wrote used to be a Rollercoaster fanfic.
Oof, even Maverik has regrets.

YALL.
If TME ever becomes a series on some streaming platform,
I want to use THIS song.
It's a good song
80s Aesthetic
I can make a sonic reference and no one would bat an eye.

Hey, spoiler alert, but if I ever make TME into a video game and you think you see Hayashi for a split second that's actually Spen- I mean O'Malley's subsystem. They have similar vibes...

Another fitting song.
Honestly, the struggle is real. We're so dependant on instant access to everything that it becomes a problem.

How Much Will TME Change?
TW: MKUltra Program structuring
The setting and technics of our book, The Monarch Effect, have always been changing. We tend to learn a new piece of information each chapter, so it's all over the place. The current ideas we want to get out is that:
The government sucks, and here's a good reason why
DID is real, and not what most people think
A little bit of religious criticism of modern Christianity (circa 2000, of course)
Mind-control slavery awarenes. It's why I posted the draft to Wattpad.
Nazi Cultism awareness (in a sense; never even came across my mind until I began research into Heinrich Himmler.)
While I use basic scripts that are seen everywhere, like The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland, I'm also planning on using other things that would make sense in context. For example, I coincidentally used a Wolf-Pack hierarchy. Before I made this link, I was planning to implement a combination of Norse and Greek mythology in the "Internal Pantheon."
Norse Mythos, as well as Atlantis, was a big part in promoting völkinism and the idea of the Aryan race. I could swear I found something on the DeprogramWiki about it, but I couldn't seem to find it again. Once I do, I'll make a post about it.
In regards to the story, there will definitely be a lot of changes in the lore of Samuel's currently internal understanding of the system. For example, Samantha's role as ex-Glenda the Good after meeting with Samuel in dreams. I will also have to look over the Superior-Inferior structure and how that would work for amnesia. The current is that those involved in the same script/source (more specifically fictives and other alters involved) know each other, but not others the lower in the hierarchy they are. For example, Scarecrow wouldn't know about the Mad Hatter.
The way alter communities are maintained is by strict maintenance of each system's beliefs. The shared punishment of all systems throughout the "Higher System" is being sent through "Hell" (which is the Sun). I haven't explained how, but I have an idea of using an inversion technique that makes the Overworld (also the sun) become the Underworld.
Back to Samantha, you think she would have been punished a lot earlier. I may have to cut her out because of this.

Why the WPAFB?
The branches of the US military is something the US gov. holds dearly. They are also off-limits to the public.

From Liveaboutdotcom (article talks of alien technology)
The article goes on to elaborate on the scene of people retrieving debris and possible ETs from the Roswell crash site. Obviously, though the mention of aliens are a stretch, the debris collection and overall secrecy is, in my opinion, pretty fishy. These parts and creatures were transported to Hangar 18.
With that, New Mexico (and the surrounding states) is known for its desert, which is the type of climate Area 51 is located. However, if there really was a alien crash site, why go through the trouble of transporting the debris all the way to Ohio?
Whether or not this legend is true, it's evidence that the WPAFB is an area of suspicion.
More stories here. (#2 below)

Tunnels, Air Base, Universities and the Soviet Union. That's some MK-Ultra nerd's dream right there.
Here's what I need to find:
- College/Base partaking in MK-Ultra project (Drug/electroshock experiments will make it an automatic candidate)
- Rumors of trafficking of any kind(sex/labor; any age)
- Common symbolism (in decor, interior design)
- People with shoddy credentials and histories
A survivor has contacted me and provided some great info on what they've received and know. I won't mention their username for their own safety.
Thanks to Edgenuity's craptastic user face, I likely won't go into depth for over a month. However, until then, any info is greatly appreciated.

The Butterfly Theorem -

I believe the "wings" have to be two right triangles, but I can't say for sure.
The Butterfly Effect alludes to an idea in which the wind from the flap of a butterfly's wings could, eventually, become a cyclone depending on other factors. Could be related to the Domino effect, in which one thing directly leads to another.
I aim to show both with my book.

An Update on Research
TW: Programming, example of if-then logistics and applying it to the brain, alter experimentation (though consentual), mention of panic attacks and Armageddon (at the end).
When it comes to how I/we present the programming, it has come to my attention that the initial concept is, to say in the least, inaccurate. I have found this amazingly helpful website, DeprogramWiki, and I've been reading it like TVTropes.
Here's the thing I've noticed: from my resources, I've found that programming not only creates alters, but penetrates the subconscious mind with cult ideology and abnormal emotional responses.
Last night, I read about "Genie" alters, a type of Delta program that holds an alter inside a bottle. I wanted to do an experiment to see how this looks visually inside a Headspace. So, I asked the system for a volunteer, and Keru came up. I was in the bathroom washing my hands, and Keru had quickly locked into a soap bottle, and put a tiny fragment of himself inside it. Obviously, since this was a rudimentary experiment, we're having some trouble cleaning it up now.
I looked up an image of a genie bottle online and established that as a trigger. The trigger to switch back inside was whenever the eyes closed. However, I didn't establish any "ifs and only ifs." If any system is wanting to do a harmless experiment like this, I would recommend using Boolean terminology, and establishing strict rules. This is because the brain really is a special computer, and has been exploited by programmers and handlers as such. My hypothesis is that the subconscious (at least our own) will understand Boolean concepts, (which, in turn, could help us in our healing process).
(I feel Spencer behind me, so this might explain why it's all technical.) Let me use a basic structure seen in math logic.
A roadsign signals a workzone if and only if that roadsign is orange.
Does a yellow roadsign signal a workzone?
If true, then yes.
If false, then no.
Logic, based on the given "if and only if" scenario, says "no, because orange roadsigns always signal workzones and only workzones."
Basic, right? I remember our grandma, someone who works with Unix for a living, saying that "in order for everything to work properly, you have to treat it (the computer) like it's a 2 year old and be very specific."
In my experiment with Mikeru, the "glitch" was that the fragment that was put inside the bottle had no way or reason to fuse back with Keru when the experiment was over. Pumping the bottle would just further fragment the alter. This alter knows why it (technically he) was created; for an experiment. However, it appears all it can do was what was originally stated. Currently, we are consoling this fragment as to why he needs to fuse back with Keru, and is very adamant on not doing anything. We asked him "who are you," which revealed his identity as a Keru fragment. This fragment split into two parts, the initial one who realizes the "truth" (Keru needs to stay together), and the original that doesn't want to go back.
Keru frag: I don't want to go back in because I've no need to. I finished my job, and that's it.
We've decided to give him a new job that he can pick. We've settled in the name "Guinness," since he decided to be our "guinea pig." Since we made two bottles (also on accident), he'll stay in the one he originated from. We promise not to actually harm him, just test things. For example, it was decided yesterday that:
If Maverik is
Having a panic attack
In the body
In an inconvenient place (we were staying over at our Grandma's)
Then,
Spencer switches out
I (CJ) will be present to help sooth him
Keru will assume the role of gatekeeper to the internal room I and Maverik are inside.
With this in mind, just imagine what a programmer could do with this knowledge. It's a sad world we live in, and there are many dangerous people who know what they're doing. In making a fictional world based on real life things, you have to understand what's happening. That is the point of this post.
If you are part of a system and reading this and are interested in trying this out, then I must ask you be careful and have the consent of your system. Don't just choose a random alter to be your subject; transparency, consent, and the ability to opt-out is absolutely necessary, especially in systems. From now on, we'll post our experiment results to this, since they will ultimately be made to "get things right" in The Monarch Effect. I used to think that everything that happened was the result of an alter that has a specific job. However, there's much more to it, from Armageddon programming (where alters have different alliances and will fight each other after the horns blow internally). Each alter will always have a sense of identity separate from another's, and will always need a purpose. This is seen with Guinness, who will have free range, and can even separate himself away from Keru as far as he wants to; he has free will. That's the difference - a Monarch system is specific built to have a false/distorted sense of free will, and punish the victim for any free thought outside of the programming.
