REGRETEVATOR THEORY TIME!!

Poob was in/is affiliated with the axosun cult

I feel like saying it out loud is a little obvious but I'll explain myself anyway

Let's go over what we know as fact

MR is an idol of religious worship for the axosun cult

Whatever spirit controls MR protects Poob

Poob experienced a traumatic event at some point that they've now deeply repressed

Poob was terrified in the moment of said event

There is someone out there who wants to kill Poob, this is due to Poob being "very important"

So what can we gather from this? Chances are Poob may have been born into the axosun cult, or potentially was kidnapped by them at some point. I believe Poob was either used in some ritual that ended inevitably with them being protected by the spirit, the ritual itself being the traumatizing part or happened to have experienced a different sort of trauma and was taken pity on by the spirit. Whatever the case may be, I think Poob is being hunted down for having escaped from the cult, especially because of the protection they have from the spirit. I also feel the events of whatever may have to Poob in said cult must have happened when they were particularly young, which would be a contributing factor to them not remembering what happened.
