i. how long have you been writing?

Since I was around 10!

ii. what are the major themes of your current wip(s)?

For So Said the King and Pandemonium both would be power and corruption. The people who are in charge are not always the good guys. Dark does not equal evil, light does not equal good.

Also, justice and sacrifice.

For I, and Me, the theme is something along the lines of self acceptance and moving forward from the past. It’s partly autobiographal without it being an autobiography or about me. But takes a lot of happenings from my life.

iii. what do you want people to take away from your story once they’ve read it?

What I want for people to take away is that there’s always hope and that you should keep fighting no matter what.

iv. would you be excited if people write fanfiction about your wip(s)?

I’d be honored! I used to write fanfiction (and still do actually haha) so it’s like, wow, I’d love that. So long as they don’t erase certain parts of the characters (Lucija being a lesbian and transgender, Nyx is gender nonconforming who uses she/her and they/them pronouns, Scarlet is aromantic asexual, Sage is bisexual and Mihail is biromantic asexual, etc)

v. what’s your go-to writing beverage?

Water. Apple juice. Soda. Hot chocolate.

vi. who is your favorite oc? tell me about them!

Not gonna lie, it’s a toss up between Bailee and Sage. 

Bailee, because, much like Pandemonium itself, I started working on her when I was going through a dark, dark period in my life. I was dealing with a lot of issues and I had her to work on as way to figure myself out. She was sort of the vent character, the one who was broken down. And the one who would rise up from that to be so much better than she had been.

And Sage because she’s confident. She knows herself. And she’s the way I strive to be now.

I know it all sounds really corny and cliche but yeah.

vii. do you feel that mistakes are important learning tools in the writing journey?

Yes. How else do you improve as a writer? With mistakes, there needs to be feedback. I’m not saying the feedback needs to be indepth and analytical like a college essay, but more like, “Hey, this part was good, but this part didn’t work as well.” etc.

So, yes, I believe making mistakes is important in order to improve, so long as they actually get the feedback needed to improve.

ix. does your wip have romance? tell me about it!! if not tell me about a friendship/important relationship in your wip!!

Yes. They do, but it’s very minor.

Lucija and Bailee are already in an established relationship by the time Bailee is introduced into the story. That sorta developed off screen at some point, and it’s very minor. They kiss and are affectionate towards each other throughout the stoyr.

Nyx and Sage’s relationship (spoilers?) get developed over time. They go from “you’re really annoying” to “ehhh, you’re okay I guess” to “If you touch her, I will kill you.”. But they do become a canon romance relationship! I just feel as though you don’t need two people to kiss on screen to prove they’re in love!

x. do you believe in the advice kill your darlings?

I mean, sure? I do, do that with some characters.

and finally, xi. do you prefer plotting or worldbuilding? why?

Worldbuilding. Because I’m an indecisive person, so plotting takes me forever to do and can get frustrating because I have to figure out when character does this and when that event happens. Whereas with worldbuilding, I have absolutely no limits until I place it into the plot.
