Kinda interesting that besides the former King Cronus and Queen Rhea, Theia and Hyperion are assumingly the only couple who were able to have a lineage mighty enough for their children to be the personification of the Sun, Moon, and Dawn respectively. Not to mention being able to KEEP that role despite no obvious alliance with Zeus during the Titanomachy. (Helios and Selene get semi-replaced by Apollo and Artemis but still maintain their positions enough that Helios has a role in Hephaestus, Demeter, and Heracles' stories) (also Zeus never seeks out a replacement for Eos as the goddess of Dawn which makes me think that they are amiable with each other)

Compare that to Iapetus' four sons getting fucked in four different directions, Coeus and Phoebe's only real relevance being Leto and their grandchildren by Zeus and being grandparents to Hecate, Oceanus and Tethys producing and losing Metis while their other numerous children play minor to adequate roles, and Crius' sons merely being "husbands" to more well-known deities (Eos, Styx, Asteria). (Astraios being the biggest research disappointment because you'd think the husband of the Goddess of Dawn would be the God of Dusk and have an active role during sunset but no, he's just a God of the stars sadly).

(Of course, there are also Themis' and Mnemosyne's daughters by Zeus, who are very important, but like Leto's case it helps that their children's father is the King of The Gods and Zeus x Titanesses is almost 99% guarantee they get good roles) (then there's Prometheus Bound where Prometheus' mother is Themis only which is cool but I mostly consider Clymene as his mother)

My au abt solarballs that combines space and mythology pt1

The au

- everyone have their own domains in their orbit except moons, well, most of them cuz the majors one have their own domains

- they have a charm that help them through the solar flares

- the events still play except the catalyst was Gaia saying to titan that he can't handle life beings on the surface (it was meant to be a warning/advice but got misunderstood)

Gaia/Terra (Earth)

- they got many names but the common one is Terra/Gaia

- any prounons is ok, non binary but also prefer he/him

- the personality is the same but just a bit nicer

- aromantic after theia's death

- see luna as their son

- in their domains, they can summon animals on it

- their hairstyle and clothing confuse ppl abt their genders

- have a bunch of accessories

- was dating theia before the collision

- remember the collision and before that

- can transfer consciousness to their surface and watch ppl interact

- can use the Earthlings knowing of space to do stuff (like saying all the moons names) but it took a lot of energy

Hermes (Mercury)

- he/him and axesual

- is so fast, it looks like he's teleporting

- friends w vulcan

- the messengers of the solar system

- is the guide for the souls

- is a trickster when not seen

- domain is plain (he likes it cuz he can run as freely as he can)

- he and the sun is on a toxic relationship where both of them is hurting each other

Ares (Mars)

- dating Aphrodite (Venus)

- he/him and bi

- although he's the planet of war, he's one of the most kind hearted planet in the solar system

- the protecter of the rocky planets area

- phobos and deimos are his helper

- he can be intimidating and scary if he want to

- helps mercury w his therapy

- often times, ppl 1st impression of him is that he'll kill them/he's dangerous

- his domain is a battlefield filled w blood

- he would often bring flowers (borrowed from Gaia) and give it to Aphrodite

Aphrodite (Venus)

- transmac, he/him and aroace

- his domain is a Greek castle w curtains like Aphrodite room in gigi's animation on YouTube epic the musical

- even though he's aroace, he's likes to set ppl up bcuz he's annoyed on how oblivious ppl r

- he's like Sophie from howl moving castle, whenever he became confident/self loved, he became more younger/prettier

- he have it since he was born, era 1 he was neutral confidence and era 2, he became even more confident when he gain life and era 3, he wasn't that confident and self loved so he, while still pretty, isn't as pretty as before

- dislike hermes cuz he remind of the time he accidentally killed vulcan and lost his life

- Start became trans not too long after got burned by the sun

Zeus (Jupiter)

- he/him, bi

- dating saturn

- quite protective of his moons but not over protective

- his domains is filled w lightning and thunderstorms

- sadistic

- his personality is still the same except he's also like Zeus in epic the musical in certain situations (he's not a slut tho)

- feel guilty ejecting x but isn't scared of him

- his backstory is still the same except when he's in his teenagers era, he's a lot more cruel and sadistic than before

Cronus (Saturn)

- she/her, pan

- is a fashion icon

- fav rocky planet is not theia/Gaia but venus

- is easily jealous when Zeus interact other ppl which is why she set x up and made Zeus eject him

- can see the future but only for a few seconds

- actually remembers her moons name

- eat asteroids that came to her orbit

- personality is the same except she's more sadistic like what the fandom depicted of her in the past

- talk abt Zeus way too much to the point her moons want to die than hearing what she have to say abt him

Caelus (Uranus)

- he/him, pan or bi

- was dating a moon named cassandra before got collided w her

- have wings

- domain is like smth like aeolus place in keep your friends close animation by gigi epic the musical

- would dance w Neptune (platonically)

- is not dating gaia

- personality is the same

- is dumb on the emotional aspect

- have a celebrity crush on Cronus before (he cringe thinking abt that now)

Poiseiden (Neptune)

- he/him, aroace

- is the smartest in terms of emotionally

- overprotective w his moons to the point planets out of the solar system is warned not to hurt his moons

- doesn't matter if ur an asteroid or a star, he will hunt u if u hurt Hades (pluto) or Caelus or his moons

- basically the song love in paradise happened between him and Triton

- is on par w Zeus based on strength

- naturally strong bcuz he's the guard of the solar system entrance (kuiper belt)

- is docile, not harmless

- my favourite planet

- love his moons and Hades bcuz they were the only one keeping him sane

- personality is still the same except whens he's pissed off

- if he's pissed off, ur doomed

- when angry, all goofiness is gone, only pure hatred

Helios (Sun)

- he/him, aroace

- is sexist bcuz trauma

- on a toxic relationship w hermes where both of them is hurting each other

- personality still the same

- domain is the solar system itself

- he's backstory is different

- is the reason Venus life is gone

- the reason he's ok w saturn and Venus being a girl is bcuz Venus have life and Saturn is dating Jupiter

- stopped being sexist after hearing the reason theia died

- he know himself he's an ass hole for being sexist but he's trying!

- is super duper overprotective w his planets and others

- even tho he's sexist toward theia, he still care abt her

- didn't even realised he was being sexist and thought it was normal (it's not, the other stars r bad influence)

Proto-Earth and theia designs!!

Okay so... I instantly fell in love with the idea of proto earth being a scary looking himbo to a degree. I have a few hcs i might share. Idk, i just, these two make me happy. (Despite their sad ending)

The hilarious thing is Wukong and Macaque probably don't know what to expect with MK's birth either since A) born were born in relative isolation with no one there (i mean, Wukong had the monkeys and Macaque had Chang'e but presumably neither party knew there was gonna be a baby stone monkey in that rock) and B) MK is weird even by stone monkey standards due to the complications of his 'conception'

Referencing: a very confused midwife Sandy.

In theory they really did expect MK/Xiaotian aka "The Egg" to have arrived as a Stone Egg. But the major difference is that he's only cooking for the standard few months (exact number unknow cus shorter wild monkey gestation vs longer demonic), while the more "natural" Stone Monkeys were born from eggs that sat around for hundreds, if not thousands of years absorbing the life energy around them. In Jttw Sun Wukong's egg is even mentioned to have sat within a "boulder womb" for that whole time.

Macaque is far more happy to have a "gross mortal" birth than to carry a literal boulder in his stomach for the next milennia. XD

MK/Xiaotian *started out* as a Stone Egg but ofc in the Au; his "shell" was damaged upon hitting Earth, necessitating the need for a new "boulder womb". Macaque and Wukong, being the only other of his kind present, we're the only candidates available for harboring him.

Not only that, but (in my au/hcs at least) Wukong was made by a creation goddess infamous for making beings out of rock/clay when she repaired Earth and the Heavens. Macaque in constrast was made by Taiyin Xingjun as she created the moon from the remnants of Theia. Very symbolic. MK/Xiaotian gets created by shadowpeach in a similar accident XD.

Also, Wukong would only really know that he came out of a rock unless somebody told him. Or he just saw the remnants of his shell and did the math. Chang'e def teases that Macaque is her "little moon omelet" even after so many years.

ANITHA RUSSELL

Birthday: December 26, 1999 (according to my HC)

Nicknames: Ani (by her foster parents and friends), sunshine (Griffin), weirdo (Atlas).

Pronouns: She/Her (cis woman)

Sexuality: Bisexual (with a higher preference to guys), she realized that she liked girls right about her sophomore year in high school when she crushed on her soccer captain. She is out to her parents and they are fully supportive of her.

Personality: Sweet, Loyal, tenacious, extroverted (though she likes her me-time), quick-witted and uncompromising of what she believes in. She trusts people easily and does not take it well when the trust is broken. She is extremely protective of her friends and Atlas, after the events of TE 1.

Parents: Her foster father is a half-Indian, half-French while her foster mother is an Indian, who migrated to America. Both are attunded, but they hide that identity from Anitha and decide to raise her attuneless to protect her from Raife. They both take on the role as school teachers in the tuneless world. Her biological mother is Theia, who is the literal source of sun magick.

Siblings: Was an only child before she met her twin sister Atlas at Penderghast.

Childhood home: She grew up in Princeton, New Jersey till high school, before moving to Hartfeld for college.

Religion: She was raised as with all the Hindu practices and traditions. Her mother would persuade her to take part in rituals, which she initially disliked as a kid, but eventually realized that it carries a magic of its own, and keeps her calm and energized.

Hobbies: She sings AMAZING (though can't play an instrument to save her life), used to be part of her school soccer team till she lost the winning goal in her junior year of high school. At Penderghast she regains the confidence after playing Thief. Additionally, she loves motorbike rides which her father gives.

Love life: Anitha had crushes and casual relationships throughout school, but Griffin was her first and serious love. They get married 2 years after Anitha's graduation and have a small house by a forest. I HC that they have twins later on; a girl and a boy.

Other facts:

She is a nature and wildlife enthusiast and I HC that she will take up geology after graduating from Penderghast.

She likes the simpler things in life; big and rich is generally not her style (dw she loves Shreya)

Her favorite cartoon was Power rangers and always argued that the yellow ranger was the best.

She once tried to ride her dad's motorbike when she was 10 on her own, and it ended with her breaking her leg.

After getting her mom's pendant from Kane, she fashions it into a chain, which she always wears around her neck.

AUEJSNAKENAML Boreas, somehow, prefers going to consult the ICE TITAN about his fears and doubts in dating a human, rather than talking about his fears to a fellow human-kissing god like Hermes or Apollo (He'll trap Hermes for hours to a Social Situation(TM) to gush about how wonderful Orithyia is, but he'll stubbornly refuse to talk in emotional depth about the 'inevitable future death' topic because he doesn't wanna humiliate himself by starting to tear up in front of another god)

In fact this fits with my hcs that Eos' family lineage in general is a bit more sympathetic towards the Titans, compared to the other Olympian gods! Eos, Selene and Helios themselves are Titan Gods and the children of Hyperion and Theia. The Four Winds are forces of nature, with bits of Primordial blood in them. Plus, its easier for Boreas' emotionally constipated ass to go talk to a Titan than a god, because the big skrunkly skeleton boi is less likely to gossip to the entire Olympus about it LMFAO (and he probs feels a connection to Hydros, an ice titan, when he himself is the north wind)

In fact he was probs expecting some kind of incredibly wise, ancient, fulfilling advice from Hydros who is eons older than him, and instead gets "everything turns to dust"

and he just

"TH.... THAT'S IT??!?!? I'm just supposed to ACCEPT IT???! ACCEPT THAT ONE DAY ORI WILL BE GONE AND I'LL BE ALONE.... AGAIN???" *cold wind starts manifesting around him*

May I humbly ask for some wheat (Themis and/or Rhea headcanons), mi'lord?

okie so i've already done a lot of Themis and Rhea hc's, but not too many of the two of them together, so here we go:

of Gaia's daughters, first came Theia, then Rhea, then Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, and Tethys.

as the first-born daughter, i think Theia would always act a lot older than she really was, and she's a bit bossy too, so when Rhea was born, i think she was a little mischievous, and quite a trouble-maker (this ties into why she got along with Kronos so well hee hee but i'm not here to talk about him so we'll move on) to counter Theia's goody-two-shoesness.

Themis, the third-born, is the titan of justice which is pretty interesting because that suggests she's quite moral and law-abiding, so that could suggest a little friction between Themis and Rhea as kids.

i can imagine Rhea and Themis butting heads a lot-- Rhea flicking food at Themis, Themis being stubborn and unwilling to let things go, so she flicks food back at Rhea, and Rhea flicks it back but misses Themis and hits Hyperion instead, who throws bread at Coeus who cries, and then Crius is shouting and Theia is rolling her eyes and Iapetus is gleefully throwing plates at the wall, and Oceanus is yelling at everybody to shut up and behave, there's food everywhere and it's a mess.

BUT. Rhea's not evil, and Themis isn't always a spoilsport. i think the thing that Rhea and Themis truly have in common is their fighting prowess.

i like the idea of Theia, being the titan of 'brilliance' (i.e., light), and Mnemosyne being the titan of the Arts (effectively), Phoebe with her prophecies, and Tethys with the rivers, etc., i think Themis and Rhea are the only two titanides with that fiery spirit that makes them actively want to fight. idk if i'm phrasing that in a way that makes sense, but i mean, they don't back down from a fight.

in terms of fight or flight instinct, theirs is to fight.

so, i think Themis and Rhea get along best when they're sparring, or hunting.

especially in the lead-up to their attack against Ouranos, i hc that Themis and Rhea stay up late hours, sometimes never even going to bed because they're out in the fields, clashing their swords and spears.

i consider the titans as having become 'full adults' at the point when they've defeated Ouranos. in a sense, when Kronos becomes King, that is the end of their childhood. their innocence. they are fully mature then; physically and mentally.

and i think, as adults, Themis and Rhea become much closer than they were in childhood. the trauma of war and Ouranos' terror unites them.

Themis also becoming an advisor in Kronos' palace means that Rhea and Themis see each other a lot more compared to Hyperion, Theia, Phoebe, Coeus, Oceanus, and Tethys who live the furthest away from Kronos' palace (Kronos' brothers become kings in the corners of the world... so does Iapetus, but Iapetus and Kronos are close, so Iapetus appears more often the other brothers).

of course, Themis and Rhea could not have been too close since no one really knows what Rhea suffers at Kronos' hands until the titanomachy is literally on their doorstep, but i still think Themis and Rhea do get along well in that immediate post-war peace period.

Kronos looks at her with heart eyes while she does this, also drives everyone nuts

Theia and Rhea totally love shopping together

Mnemosyne makes guides when her family is confused by things. They are usually rather more confusing cause they're all picture books with nearly no words.

Hyperion loves sun bathing, and moon bathing, and dawn and dusk bathing, and really just sitting outside and staring at whatever brightness is there at the time

Iapetus gossips so much

Prometheus and Epimetheus are totally competitive over each other's creations, half the reason Prometheus stole the fire was an f u to Epimetheus

Epimetheus has no favorite creation (it's the platypus)

Silly HC: Demeter and her siblings were born to Hyperion and Theia, and in birth order it's:

Hestia -> Helios -> Selene -> Eos -> Demeter -> He/ra.

And then for the children of Cronus and Rhea: Hades -> Zeus -> Poseidon

The game implied that Theia somehow disappeared (Demeter says she never knew her mother), so my assumption has been that she was fragile for a goddess, and having so many children was too hard on her body- she became pure light at some point. And sometime after that, Cronus may have just straight up killed Hyperion, viewing him as a threat to power 😭 but he saw something useful in the budding god-abilities of Hyperion's children, and allowed them to remain in his house so long as they were obedient. (At some point Helios Selene and Eos leave, but Hestia stays out of concern for what may happen to her two youngest sisters otherwise.)

Someone wanted to hear my hcs so I got them with a doodle of proto. Just know you asked for this.

Hcs:

-Proto, for a long time, would not stay in his orbit for the very fact he wanted to protect the other rocky planets as much as he could. (Even if at some point they were scared of him.)

-this made it where at first, theia believed the orbit they shared was just her orbit. (The moment she realized she was sharing one, theia instantly got excited... and a little jealous.)

- Venus and Mars always sorta referred to Proto in the early years as the sun cryptid. (Proto from a distant was still pretty bright. They thought it was something that spawned from the suns solar flares. Really, proto just wouldn't give his surface time to cool catching asteroids.)

- Theia was the first one to make contact with Proto. At least she claims so. Really, it would be Ceres. (Ceres had a manic episode resulting in alot of asteroids being thrown. Proto went to investigate and came across the paranoid planet. This is where Proto would go to confront Jupiter and Saturn, asking them to not be so scary. Proto isn't the best with words...)

-Proto never really wanted life. He liked the idea of protecting life though. Thus when theia began to try it, he supported her in anyway he could. (When the accident happened, Due to theia wanting life and proto wanting to help her succeed, the resulted in Earth having an obsession over it.)

-Lunas dark side gets the darker eyes from proto after the merging.

-Proto has eaten asteroids before. He's not a fan of the ones carrying H2O. Or ice.
