Thirty Weeks!

How am I at week 30 of this pregnancy already? The time is really flying by! But everyday we get closer to meeting this new little one. Although everyday closer we get my belly gets bigger! But I wouldn’t change my massive belly anything for anything. As long as this bubba keeps baking away for the next ten weeks then I’m happy, even if do waddle about!

How far along - 30 + 1

Baby fruit size - Iceberg Lettuce

Total weight gain - About 25 pounds.

Bump - Huge. I feel like I’ve got a beach ball in my stomach!

Sleep - Patchy, my backs been quite achy these past few days so I’ve been finding sleep difficult. But Sean is always on hand to give me a back rub when I need it!

Maternity clothes - Of course! My belly band is definitely my lifesaver now.

Food cravings and aversions - No cravings but eggs and fish are still making me extremely nauseous!

Symptoms - This heartburn is still kicking my butt!

Stretchmarks - A lot!

Doctor’s appointment - I had my 30 week appointment yesterday and it went really well. My obstetrician is really happy with how things are progressing with this pregnancy. He took measurements of my belly and had a feel of my stomach to check things. His hands were really cold. He had fun measuring my massive belly. I measured in at 34cms, which is a bigger than average. He also did a ultrasound but baby moved around so much he could barely get a look at them! I could feel baby wriggling way inside me as he did it! He said baby is weighing in about 2.9lbs and growing well.

Next appointment - My next appointment is at 34 weeks.

Movement - So much!

Belly Button - The belly button popped out completely last week.

Gender - It’s a surprise!

Due Date - 19th January 2019

Best moment of this week - Seeing the baby on the ultrasound!

What I’m looking forward to -  Harley’s 3rd birthday tomorrow.

For today’s mixing sims, I mixed Schuyler Blake with my... um... interesting-looking YA version of the old Maximilian, haha. The baby actually looked super cute at first sight, but then I changed the hair and added some make-up, and I then realized I had to move some sliders. But the result is still adorable!!!

Cardinal: She feels safest with someone, doesn’t matter where she is if she’s with someone she trusts then she’ll always feel safe. Though alone she doesn’t really feel very safe anywhere besides her bedroom

Carmine (au): She feels safest at home and with V :3 

Dorian: Everywhere. He doesn’t really care too much for feelings of ‘safety’ but I guess he feels most chill in his car

Feyre: Out with people. She doesn’t feel very safe when alone.

Julian: His art studio, its just his sanctuary that nobody can get in.

Hana is the squad type of girl. She’ll stand up for her friends and cover them even if they had to hide a corpse!

Nostalgia’s really obsessed with the US, although she cannot move or even travel there because lack of money AND language barrier :( Poor girl just wants to live her american dream on a beach in California.

1.Astrid REALLY loves the heat! She’s always out at the beach, in the sun with no hat on :D

2.Voteporix has, on multiple occasions, stolen something from his neighbours. Be it food, electronics, house parts..their dog. Yeah. Lots.. 

3.Best cook is definitely Niko! He’s followed a short culinary course when he was on a hiatus from basketball and enjoyed it thoroughly, now he’s looking forward to trying out even more and maybe branching out to cooking when he’s older.

4.LONGEST SLING SLONG.I…need a moment LOLOLOL. But that’s gotta be Lwazi. He’s 16,3cm and obsessed with his length ever since he started watching porn as a teen.

5.Longest hair is gonna be really hard to answer! I have lots of OCS with super long hair like Yuki, Elna and Sile(which will be present in sim form soon…) But i think Sile does! Canonically she’s got hair that reaches past her butt.

6.That’s a good question! I like giving phobias to my OCS because it makes them more human/real…I think Aria definitely has a fear of them and it doesn’t help her because living in the world of fashion and high-end life she’s got a lot of elevators to take in tall buildings. She prefers the stairs…

7. Pizza on pineapple is gross and i will judge everyone who dares disgrace the human race like that. Not even Voteporix likes it. *thumbs down*

Mamaliga is life 

Dalia never really wanted to move away from home all the way to the US but she did it in order to find herself. She always misses her parents back in Johannesburg and feels the happiest only when she’s at home with the entire family. Unfortunately age differences and her and her twin brothers’ busy schedules make it very hard to be together at the same time.

JJ’s First Day of Daycare!

Today JJ went to Daycare for the first time. Milena has been going to daycare since her first birthday and she loves it. She has so many little friends at daycare. There were two reasons that JJ has started daycare; one, he needs social interaction with other babies and two, I’m going back to work part time. 

Before I fell pregnant with Milena I worked as trainee estate agent. I went on maternity leave and intended to return when Milena was between 6 and 12 months but I fell pregnant very quickly after giving birth so I never returned. JJ is seven months old now and I feel ready to go back to work. I’m only going to be working two and half days a week so I’ll still be spending plenty of quality time with my babies.

This morning was pretty eventful, what with getting three babies ready for daycare. Sean had already left for work so it was just me and it was a real show! Milena decided to strut around naked after deciding she didn’t want her clothes on. When I say naked she did have a pacifier in her mouth, and for some reason one of JJ’s socks on her left hand. I don’t even know where she got it from. Evelyn was grouchy and pooped, and when I say pooped I mean she poured chicken curry sauce out of her bottom as I was changing her. And JJ, well he was busy with his teethers and wouldn’t put them down or give them to me. Oh and he kept throwing banana round the kitchen table. For a seven month old he is a pretty good thrower. I’m not sure how many banana slices he actually ate.

After what felt like forever they were finally ready. Milena just kept wandering around, I’m not even sure she knew what was wandering around for. She did keep picking up random toys and asking is she could take them to daycare with her. She must’ve asked me if she could bring nearly twenty different toys! I eventually allowed her to take her plushy elephant. Evelyn meanwhile, the moment I put her in her car seat she fell asleep. JJ had finally put down his teethers and let me get his coat on. He was also very smiley for the camera.

We managed to get out of the house at about 8:30, I had hoped to leave at 8:00 but with three little ones half an hour isn’t too bad.

When arrived at daycare Milena was happy to be parted with me, JJ wasn’t quite so sure and Evelyn was still sound asleep in her carrier. I gave JJ a cuddle and kiss on the forehead before leaving him. I hated leaving him. I hated leaving Milena the first time, she screamed so hard when I left. It made me feel awful. Thankfully JJ didn’t scream like his big sister and I was able to slip away.

I returned to daycare centre at five o’clock to pick them up. Milena ran into my arms and gave me a cuddle. JJ was playing on the mat with some other babies, they were enjoying themselves. Evelyn was with one of the daycare nurses, having her diaper changed. I scooped JJ up in my arms and gave him a kiss on the forehead. He recognised me and nuzzled into me, I love that.

The daycare nurse informed me he’d had a one hour nap during the morning and one and half hour nap during the afternoon. He’d eaten most of the sweet potato puree i sent with him and a little yogurt. Evelyn had had two, two hour naps, plus 16oz of formula in total. Milena had had two, one hour naps plus eaten two little triangle sandwiches, three cucumber slices and a yogurt.

Back home I had three very alert babies. Milena was playing with her plushy elephant, Evelyn was in her Mamaroo and JJ was practising his crawling.

So that was JJ and Evelyn’s first day of daycare. I think they liked it.

My Newborn Must Haves + My Favourite Wraps and Carriers!

When you have a baby there a things you just can’t live without, especially in those first few months. Those things vary from mum to mum as every baby is different, even when you have identical twins! These are my must haves.

My Newborn Must Haves (Picture 1)

Rock'a'Roo by 4Moms - I just love this bouncer. We have used it since we had JJ and all of our babies have loved being in it.

Rock'n'Play - Rock’n’Plays are brilliant. They are so light so they can be picked up and moved from room to room and fold up flat so are super easy to store when not in use.

Table For Two - This has just been brilliant for bottle feeding the twins. The seat supports them in the perfect position for bottle feeding and even relieves the symptoms of reflux, colic, colds & breathing difficulties.

Blooming Bath Lotus

Boppy - I love boppy’s as the can be used for breastfeeding or for your baby to rest it.

Button Up/ Zip Onesies - While you might want to dress your baby up in cute outfits, for the first few months they’re going to be spitting up and needing countless diaper changes. Button or zip up onesies make changing quick and easy and saves those cute outfits from being ruined.

Swaddles - Honestly these are just lifesavers. They give baby the feel of still being in the safety of the womb and soothe them.

Pacifiers, especially one piece pacifiers. The best one piece brands are Natursutten and Hevea.

What Else?

A Good bassinet or Moses basket.

With Milena with used a moses basket until she was 3 months old then she moved into her crib. JJ and Harley used a moses basket for a weeks but quickly outgrew them so slept in a bassinet. They both used the Monte Rockwell Bassinet. For the twins we purchased a twin bassinet instead of having two bassinets in our room and it has been a lifesaver!

Travel System

My favourite travel system has definitely been the Stokke Trailz (see my full review here). It will take your baby from birth to three years and can accommodate a bassinet, a car seat and a seat unit. It is an all round winner!

My Favourite Wraps

Solly Baby Wrap 

We bought the Solly Baby Wrap when I was pregnant with JJ as we didn’t want to be constantly hoofing a double stroller around with us and I wanted to try     baby wearing. I loved it, it was comfortable, breathable and easy to use once I'd got the hang of it. I could use it with both Milena and JJ, which was a great plus. As it packs flat, you can just pop it in your diaper bag or your suitcase.

Soft Eco Carrier

We bought this when JJ was a few months old and Milena started getting a     little big for the Solly Wrap. It is a back carrier and makes carrying a bigger child easier. It is so easy to use and great for traveling and days out. We used them at the airport as we had to check our strollers in and it made the experience easier. It's not too pricey and can be used for a child up to about 3 years old.

Simplistic Baby Wrap

This wrap was bought by Evelyn parents, so we got it when we adopted her. We used this a lot with her and she always loved being in it, but she was a very cuddly baby.It was easy to use and easy to clean. It  easy to store in a suitcase as it packs completely flat, so great for travelling and holidaying.

Wild Bird Baby Wrap

We bought this wrap when I was pregnant with the twins as our old wraps are pretty worn out. It has been brilliant and Harley has no problem using it. In fact he loves being in it even though he loves being free to run wild. Like our other wraps it is easy to store and great for days out. It is super easy to use and the fabric is super breathable. I love it!

Happy Birthday, Macie Jane!!

Today is not my daughter’s birthday, however it was on August 10th! She turned 1 years old officially and my hormones and traitorous emotions played havok on my heart all day! Saturday, Theron was home and we decided to have a little birthday dinner. We rented a bounce house for the older kids to play in and invited all our friends. Of course, it was last minute and so a lot of them couldn’t make it, but we understood.

Meghan (@littlegingersnaps) was out of town with Hazel and Harrison since it was their Dad’s weekend with them, but we’ll have a small dinner with them when they return. The few of our friends who were able to make it were Newlynn (@simplisticmotherhood), Alice & Schuyler; Andra, Jamie & their son, Kida; Selena (@becoming-us), Isiah, Macey Anne, Ellie, Tobias & Elias. We had tons of food. Mac and Cheese, Corn on the Cob, Lasagne, we even made some pizzas. Macey Anne helped make the kitty cupcakes, which turned out absolutely adorable! Mak (@oopsiemama) was there as well, but she preferred to be the one taking the pictures. She’s in love with my Polaroid camera! LOL

Aside from my sweet baby girl turning a year old, I’m also faced with less than 3 months until I am due to have Sprout. I’m very nervous about being a mother of two and trying to give both of my children my attention. The fears of being a horrible parent are plaguing me as of late, so much so that I am having a difficult time sleeping even when Theron is home, which lately is very rare. He had to leave Sunday afternoon even though it was a requested and approved day off. Thankfully I have such great friends.

  The biggest surprise though laid in wait for the late evening on Sunday. A man showed up at my house just before 8:00 PM. Zay and Selena headed over as soon as I texted her telling her what was going on. Turns out.. I have a half-brother. His name is Cash Jones, but goes my CJ. Not only does this man have a similar quippy initial resemblance to my own child’s nickname (MJ), but they also share the same birthday. I don’t know much else about him as it was late and the stress of his surprise visit and finding out that my Father had been unfaithful to my Mother during their marriage (yes, he’s my younger brother of almost 4 years), but my Mother had knowledge of this and never once told me that I had a half-sibling and neither did my Father’s attorney.

Cash is staying at the The Grande Inn here in town, but I plan on having breakfast with him tomorrow morning, Selena has offered to babysit Macie for me, I will talk to him then about doing a DNA test though to be fair.. the resemblance is a little uncanny. We definitely favor our Father, but he has dark brown eyes and brown hair. Whereas I have Blue eyes and Blonde hair like our Dad. I wish he were still alive. I have so many questions that I know in my heart, will never be answered.
