My mom taught me how to sew in elementary school. I learned how to use the sewing machine a little later. I don’t do too much sewing these days, but it has brought me much joy as an adult.

I mean, the thrill of fixing something is unparalleled.

Elizabeth Taylor: What is your favorite piece of jewelry? 

It’s difficult to pick a favorite, because I have different favorites for different outfits, but the one that I like the most is a set of necklaces that I always wear together - they’re delicate, and gold, and very elegant. They make me feel pretty. 😊 EDIT: I FORGOT! How could I forget? The two bracelets I wear almost every time I go out - two bangles my dad gave me, one copper with labradorite, and one a bronze Victorian one etched with a flowering vine (it’s one of a pair, and he gave the other one to my mom). They look good together, so I wear them together.

Audrey Hepburn: Do you support any charities?

I don’t really have the budget to support any charities at this time...😅😑 But in general, if it’s got anything to do with progressive liberal politics I support it.

I think there is just about every color in the rainbow here @thechesterfield.  Very nice use of the rule of thirds to place the silhouetted trees and colored sky.  Beautiful shot!

4. Favorite conspiracy theory revolving around history? 

I’m not sure...maybe that King Tutankhamen was murdered?

14. Favorite female monarch? 

Cleopatra Philopator. She’s way, way more than just a seductress of Roman generals. If you’re into historical fiction, I’d recommend The Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George. It has artistic license (obviously, since it’s told in the first-person), but it’s extremely heavily researched so all the actual events are legitimate. Beautifully written, totally immersive, and it’s given Cleopatra a really strong, distinctive voice. It’s a weird thing to say in a fictionalized biography, but it’s actually about her (rather than the men around her), and it makes her a person rather than an icon.

35. Are you especially interested in the morbid bits of history? 

Oh hell yes, I love the ghoulish bits. Scandal, and poison, and death, and blood, and cults. Crypts made from bones, and mummies, and demonic possessions, and murderers...all of it.
