Oh man! This was the literally 12 hours AFTER the HIGHBALL.(@ The High) I had little to no sleep, I has just gotten off of work AND got into a shouting match with a rude lady at the gas station. I forgot a key component of my cocktail, I had plastic cups, and my jigger was at home. I borrowed some lemon juice from another competitor and marched my sleepy self right into this competition...and came out with the big "L"! The lesson learned here...sit cho a** down! The competition from the night before was too much and I was overly ambitious in signing up for this. Took this straight out of the freezer. The cherries and elderberries give a super sweet boost this beer. The aftertaste lets you know this was aged in an oak cask. I am not a huge fan of aged beer. I could make an exception for this. The combination of the berries and oak give off a sort of sweet and sour vibe. Better late than never...uh...this is a pretty average tasting cider. Very reminiscent of candy. On the nose, it's easily the green Jolly Rancher. It's also ONLY 4.5%...so there's that. The carbonation is just right...I would not rush to grab this off of the shelves.
