given Sunday's canonical ocd, it is unknown if he was taking medication for it or not- but if he got the diagnosis as a child, there's a high possibility that that awful man medicated Sunday which just made it easier for him (G. Wood). ocd meds make you numb, apathetic, not like yourself one bit, lacking passions in life or excitement for anything, basically a shell of a human being (+ they're usually given with antidepressants).

to put it in perspective after the livestream; Sunday may be off his meds and finally learning how to live again, how to feel again and who he is on a another level.

Little ramble but maybe it’s just a me thing but I really don’t like it when an established character is made complicated and evil/mean in media and when retell said media, they woobify the character to make their actions more justified or else make other characters very vile (Despite being established as not) to justify their actions

Uh this happens alot with Loki. Like I get it, I do see him as a tragic character with a complicated motive HOWEVER I don’t like it when you guys purposely make the Æsir meaner to Loki to justify his actions

I’m not denying that the Æsir are massive assholes but defanging Loki’s actions just seems a bit excessive. Like, how are you gonna justify him cutting off Sif’s hair? Or stealing a cursed ring from a dwarf? OR JUST KILLING A MAN CUZ HE WAS JEALOUS like let Loki be vile and complicated. I think she has issues but her actions are not justified

This happens alot in Greek Myth too like Circe(the book) and I just think like… Can we let characters be evil, vile or even like make unjustifiable actions. Idk I think we should support women’s rights and wrongs.

This applies to any media in general honestly like if I can bring up an example in Helluva boss uh. I don’t like that Stella is made a 1 dimensional bitch wife to justify her getting cheated on with Stolas, and Stolas getting woobified so much that his actions of pet calling and demeaning a lower class imp was just ignored in favor of painting the imp IN THE WRONG for breaking his heart like okay man. It can get to a point where the character is no longer enjoyable and just really annoying to see on screen and it’s frustrating seeing actions be justified when there could’ve been an opportunity to explore complicated characters in complicated situations

This rambling and all I can end this with is; Remembering to never woobify my characters has drastically improved my writing overall

Somewhat more controversially - beyond just well-written characters, I think a lot of people find themselves repeatedly drawn to particular Types of characters. And I think the frequency with which those types appear, and the particular flavor of those types, is often (unnecessarily!) gendered. (Sticking with the espionage theme: it’s pretty difficult to find clever, calculating, socially astute female spy characters whose tradecraft doesn’t hinge primarily or at least very heavily on their sex appeal). TL;DR even very well-written female characters are often (unnecessarily!!!) confined to a much more limited set of narrative roles and archetypes.

And while I’m definitely not saying this is something we should all just accept completely uncritically, I do think it’s a pretty undeniable factor in why a lot of people’s lists of favorite blorbos might be kinda dude-heavy.

htoo tired to write a genuine take so mb ill cm back to this bt smthing smthing ppl in fandom spaces want a perfect victim character in their nuanced unpacking of the intricacies of abuse and the very nature of victimhood that they r never going to get. however at the same time ☝ the flaws of louis character and toxic pieces of him and his behavior do not negate the fact that he is very much A Victim of abuse that is inherently loaded with racial violence. if i see one more person try to say that its Both of them "mutually abusing" each other im going to genuinely lose my shit bc yes. louis is at many times mistreating the people that he loves. yes louis is choosing to stay obsessed and trapped even when they are not together. yes louis is making choices that hurt himself, claudia, and others. no there is no perfect victim or even perfect villainous abuser. but lestat having trauma and louis having flaws does not detract from the fact that louis is very much a victim of lestat's (and later armand's) abuse and that the power in both of those relationships is so clearly not in louis' hands no matter how he might treat them or. have flaws like people do.

A defense of good boy Misha (the one from Honkai Star Rail)

Why am I defending him after coming out of nowhere? Because I love this sweet boy and I am gonna have to let go of him eventually! And I will never get the waifu only incels who hate male child characters for being "annoying". Most of you acted like him at his age.

He's ugly and unattractive

No, he isn't! He is a very cute and handsome baby boy! I would say he is no different from a puppy if you put him next to a picture of one! I would also gladly say he is the cutest/ prettiest of the boys for sure! Also, referring to him as someone who needs to be attractive is kinda creepy. He's a minor ya know. One around 10-13 as well.

All because what? Like I said before, Misha is literally a 10-13 year old boy. He is just acting his age TBH. He is just acting his age and having fun. Also, he doesn't talk too much because not enough people can see or notice him. Also, I don't remember him being much of a crybaby canon wise. There are times the little bellboy himself knows how to be polite and mature. For instance, how he acted in an interview with Owlbert. He treated him so politely and was very respectful, unlike a certain pink haired IPC bitch who ruined his legacy. If you're referring to him crying in fan art because he can't go on trailblazing adventures or because he is trying his best at his job but people aren't noticing him, that would be okay reasons to cry. Nobody deserves to have their dreams crushed like that. Much less a child. It's very heartbreaking.
