‘‘It was impossible for me to accept that someone else could find worth in what I did because I could not. How could Kurt be a fan when I saw in him a talent that was genuinely not of this place and time, like Bob Dylan, John Lennon, David Bowie, or Jimi Hendrix? I simply had the heart of a packhorse.’’- Mark Lanegan

The Winding Sheet (1990) is Mark Lanegan’s first solo album and it’s the most important album in the development of grunge and Seattle rock music. The album is completely different than any musical work from Screaming Trees, the band he fronted from 1985 until 2000. One of the most fascinating things about this album is the fact that he had not picked up an instrument before or contributed musically to any Screaming Trees song beside lyrics. 25 years of age, working in a warehouse, the grunge icon spent his days trying to come up with melodies and lyrics for his first album. He bought a cheap and used acoustic guitar with a Mel Bay chord book and got to work.
"I remember listening to his solo album, The Winding Sheet, over and over again, when I was living in Olympia. It was winter, when the sun wouldn't come up until 8am, and would go down by 2 or 3pm - it was like a rainy Scandinavia, it was fucking depressing. And that album was the perfect soundtrack for that season.''- Dave Grohl
On ‘‘Down In The Dark’’ Lanegan sings : ‘‘I don't have very long, I think my blood might boil, And then my veins might burn, You're gonna make it better for a little while’’. And if you listen carefully, you will hear Kurt Cobain singing on ‘‘Down In The Dark’’. Whilst, Cobain plays guitar and Krist Novoselic plays bass on ‘‘Where Did You Sleep Last Night’’.

Mark Lanegan - The Winding Sheet

More of my Aeolus!
(Because ppl wanted a ref sheet for them but I don't have a suitable one yet)
Tumblr media
+ addressing issues some ppl had with my art...
Tumblr media
Also, my prior Aeolus was supposed to have a more masc twink (and be Hermes like)body but since I based the design off of their voice actress and the official epic design, I gave them a more fem body....
I am VERY aware that Aeolus in the methos was a MAN- I don't mean to a friend anyone with my art.... and pls DNI of you don't like my design for them; there are several other EPIC artists that have better Aeolus designs than me so maybe you'll find what u want to see from them 🩵 :)

AU in the making? Possibly? Don’t trust my words.
If anything it’s an AU mainly based between Sig, Pebbles and Ino/UI. I have kindly forgot to do Slivers design… I’ll do that later when I’m done with other stuff. For now take this lil treat of mine.
All there designs are based off a techno style

I’VE NOTICED SOMETHING!!!!
According to the anime, Bruno was born in the suburbs of Naples.
Tumblr media
Later on, when Bruno thinks he is speaking with Trish, he mentions that he owns a house in the suburbs of Naples.
Tumblr media
Methinks there may be a connection—this information makes me wonder…
…is this house his childhood home? We’re never told exactly what happened to his family’s house—there’s a good chance Bruno inherited the place after his father passed away.
If it isn’t, did he buy a house near where he grew up to feel connected to his past? Sure, there many of suburbs around Naples, but I like to think he chose to live near to where he grew up.
And this thought doesn’t come without reasoning—there’s evidence in Purple Haze Feedback that supports the idea that Bruno wants to hold memories of his family close. (If you consider PHF to be canon, of course.) A passage within the book states that Bruno has one of his late father’s old fishing nets hanging on the wall in his living room.
If he’s sentimental enough to hang a direct reminder of his dad in his living room, then it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume he would want to live close to the place he was raised. Perhaps it comforts him.

I think American Psycho and Emma could sit side by side as works depicting people hemmed in and almost stunted by their deeply mannered worlds and the expectations built into them; silly, useless creatures, yet constitutionally incapable of fully looking at that fact without spiraling into full-blown existential crisis.
Which leads me to conclude that I would have enjoyed Emma more if she had a chainsaw.
