itoshi sae gets surprisingly lazy during off-season. he spends his time sleeping in or roaming around your apartment in his pajamas. (both with an untamable mop of bed hair and sleep-swollen eyes).

it’s the only time he gets to spend with you, he reasons.

you’d like to reason he ruined your sleeping schedule for it.

a soft yawn leaves your lips, your eyes heavy with sleep as you flip a pancake on the skillet. you frown, blinking away some of the drowsiness as you glance at the clock on the stove.

you try to stifle another yawn before placing the pancake on top of the small pile of the ones you’d cooked before.

there’s a small beat of silence before the pan sizzles again as you pour some of the last remains of the batter on it.

you tilt your head back, closing your eyes. another yawn leaves your lips when you hear the faint shuffle of sae’s slippers on the floor as he approaches the kitchen.

a small smile tugs at your lips, warmth blooming in your chest when you feel him rest his forehead on your shoulder.

“you’re up early,” you say, pressing the side of your head against his.

“it’s—” he pauses, squinting up at the stove clock, “—eleven a.m., that’s not early. it’s late.”

“you’ve been waking up past noon these last few days,” you point out, fondly rolling your eyes before flipping the pancake. you relax against him when he wraps his arms around your waist, hiding his face in the crook of your neck.

“you should’ve woken me up,” he sleepily whines, his words muffled by your skin.

you pat the back of his hand, a contemplative hum leaving your lips. “i don’t like interrupting your sleep,” you reply, gently thumbing his knuckles.

“i don’t need sleep—i need to watch last season’s matches,” he mutters, his voice slightly raspy, “‘s what i should’ve been doing all this time.”

“you should’ve woken me up,” he quietly adds. “you’re being a terrible influence by letting me stray from my routine.”

you softly scoff, adding the pancake to the small tower to your left. you pour the last bit of batter onto the pan, your body relaxing against sae’s chest as he clings to you.

“i’m not the one begging you to stay five more minutes in bed,” you quip, a soft chuckle leaving your lips when he squeezes you.

“whatever,” he mumbles, slightly easing his grip on you.

the soft sizzle of the pan fills the space between you. your thumb gently rubs the back of his hand as you flip the pancake.

“‘s cold,” he grumbles, his raspy voice breaking the comfortable silence. “i’m gonna go turn up the heater…” he trails off, pressing his lips against the back of your shoulder.

you wait for a second for him to move—he doesn’t. a few more seconds go by, sae not moving a single inch from his spot.

“sae?” you ask, your voice a whisper.

no response.

you gently nudge him. he sharply inhales, lifting his head up slightly to look at you with bleary eyes. “hm?”

you give him a warm smile, your eyes soft as you meet his gaze. “you should go back to bed,” you offer.

he hesitates before shaking his head, resting his head against your skin once more. “‘m fine right here,” he says, his grip on your waist tightening ever-so-slightly.

“you’re tired,” you retort, a sigh leaving your lips, “you should get more rest.”

“resting is all i’ve been doing,” he mutters, clicking his tongue. he moves his head to look at you, placing his chin on your shoulder as he frowns.

a few beats of silence go by before he sighs. sae presses a kiss to your shoulder, his eyes focusing on the small pile of pancakes you’d made.

“are we having those for dinner, too?” he asks, a yawn slipping past his lips.

you glance at the pancakes when you turn off the stove. “sure,” you reply, turning to look at him. “if that’s what you want.”

he nods, blinking a few more times to will the sleep away. he immediately embraces you when you’ve faced him, his body practically melting against yours.

he kisses your jaw, softly sniffling. you feel the corners of his lips quirk up into the hint of a smile when you rub his back.

“i’ll miss you,” he faintly whispers, his breath tickling the crook of your neck.

“i’m not going anywhere?” you reply, a hint of amusement in your voice. you chuckle when he nudges you with the tip of his nose.

“yeah, but i am,” he mumbles, a frown settling on his lips. “off-season ends in two days,” he adds, faint annoyance lacing his words.

“so?” you ask, resting your head on his shoulder.

“‘m not gonna be around as often,” he reluctantly replies, his brows furrowing at the reminder.

you shrug in his hold, closing your eyes. “i know you’re coming back once the season’s done, anyway.”

he clicks his tongue. “so, you’re not going to miss me?”

“i’ll miss having someone who eats my food,”you chuckle, giving him a soft squeeze. “‘m gonna have to start eating all my pancakes by myself.”

a soft huff of laughter leaves his lips, his head lightly nudging yours. “that just means you’re going to have to make up for all that once i’ve got free time again.”

“yeah, whatever,” you mumble, “we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. so, stop worrying about all this and just have breakfast.”

sae faintly nods against you, a soft sniffle leaving his lips before he yawns again. “you’re joining me in bed after breakfast, right?”

you smile, giving him one more soft squeeze. “yeah.”

This is to celebrate 1,000 followers on Twitter!!! I held a poll about what people wanted, and a multi-page Domesticated Ford comic won by a HUGE margin. I thought I'd have more time to finish some, but I only have this page done right now. I'll post more as they're finished!!

(Unnecessary worldbuilding: the creature in the first three panels is called a telepole! Every one of them is linked to the others, and they can be used to travel across the wasteland by stepping through their mouths like a gate. Ford and Pyronica came from the throne room! Traveling by telepole can be dangerous for the unexperienced, as they receive nutrients by teleporting creatures into a shared "stomach" that's actually a large, acidic lake. It breaks down prey and sends their nutrients back to the telepoles linked to it.)

wrote a whole post and lost it so this will be the abridged version but has anyone ever written an au where shannon has a hot mamma mia summer and hooks up with buck and eddie and then oh noooo she's pregnantttt so she tells them both and they all decide to like be friends and just get a paternity test after the baby is born. but then shannon has like a rough labor and chris is in the NICU so they just forget about it for the immediate future they're like okay that doesn't even matter they just focus on shannon's recovery and getting chris healthy.

and suddenly chris is four months old and technically buck has his own little shithole apartment with four roommates while eddie and shannon are dating and living together but in practicality eddie and shannon barely spend any time together and buck stays over on the couch all the time and he and eddie have become Buck And Eddie and they both love little baby chris so much that they don't really Want to do the paternity test anymore because once that happens their little bro parenting arrangement will fall apart and one of them will have no claim to their beautiful baby boy...

meanwhile shannon has never been more stressed in her fucking life and she wants out. everyone keeps saying that it'll get easier and she sees buck and eddie both settling into parenthood and enjoying it but she just feels like she's in a cell and the walls are closing in. at the moment she's the only one on the birth certificate and she's acutely aware that buck and eddie could both just dip if they wanted to but she can't. so she starts pushing the paternity test issue and they both keep making stupid ass excuses to put it off and her and eddie's relationship is a fucking mess and she wants OUT.

so finally she's fed up with it and she goes and has the test done without telling them. and when she gets the results back she updates chris's birth certificate and she knows that she should tell them but well. now that she's faced with having to tell the guy who's dedicated his entire life to christopher for the past six months that actually he doesn't need to be here. she thinks she understands why they didn't want to get it done. and now that eddie's name is on the paper next to hers she thought that the anxiety and the trapped feeling would let up but it doesn't. if anything it makes her feet itch more. and she tells herself well eddie can do anything he needs legally. and buck will probably stick around and help even though he's not the father. so they don't really NEED her christopher will be fine and buck will have an excuse to stay and she and eddie won't have to keep playing pretend.

so eddie wakes up the next morning to a crying baby, an empty bed, and a fresh legal document with his name on it.

I think I've talked about Fernando's before on here but. I really miss when he had the black fireproofs bcs it just made hom feel so much more intimidating/larger-than-life to me. The way he prowled around the paddock, just very big cat to me! Though I once told my mom this and she said, "more like a bobcat, he's so small." 😭

Seb is a fennec fox because...idk why it just suits him. He is both kitty and puppy, so I think foxes in general suit him bcs they're described as, "just cat software running on dog hardware." And fennec foxes are blondies too! The way they make little laughing noises, and also the way their ears/tails are way too big for their body also remind me of him.

Jense has always and will always be a wolf to me bcs his wolfish smile. He's just got that big, bad wolf vibe. He wants to snap you up! On the whole dog-cat scale, to me he just feels like neither really suits him. Wolves are so noble to me!!

Mark is dog boy, what else needs to be said!? Though there is something to be said about how the rest of them are wdcs and are wild animals, and he's.... domesticated. Something something wild animals seen as more noble and impressive- He really is just whatever dog breed he has irl, they are his comrades.

Ok, listen. You're valid, but listen. In the original universe we get, I completely agree. Vander nearly killing Silco and them fighting for dominance of Zaun is brother vs brother, power vs power activity. I don't think that universe went any further. There was no room for it to go beyond that betrayal and bitter feelings.

Within the Timebomb universe however I think they became something more after reconciling.

The letter was found, they talked it out, probably fought (which, head cannon, probably left Vander with a new scar somewhere we didn't see) but after that I think they saw each other in a new light. They were now on completely even footing, fighting for the exact same vision of Zaun in the exact same way, through peace vs violence because now they've seen what violence brings and they don't want that to happen ever again.

They don't want to lose each other again.

They only really had each other, Powder and Vi to take care of after losing their parents, which is what probably got them thinking about being together as a couple of they hadn't been thinking about it already.

I just can't read their reactions/looks in that universe in any other way. It's just too tender? I just look at them looking at each other and see, "unwavering devotion."

Two kings rule over Zaun in that universe and they're very happily married, despite everything that's happened. Because how could they not be after everything that's happened?

#i just know from past relationships that if i was in vander or silcos shoes i wouldnt want to let go of my partner #like id still be close to them if someone else came along romantically or something #like they still were when powder and vi's parents were around #but if it was JUST US which it looked like it was in the timebomb universe #and we were taking care of a child or two together while trying to rebuild our world?#I'd have them as my romantic partner no doubt #i would just never want anything to come between us again #theres the whole killing eachother thing to take into account of course but you know #when living in a world so dangerous as the one in arcane at that moment thats not much more than just a fight #a really REALLY bad fight but one they clearly got over somehow so you knoooooow -shrugs-#anyway #arcane #arcane vander #arcane silco #arcane season 2 #arcane spoilers #zaundads #arcane zaun #listen all i can think about is them doing something very domestic and just falling into eachother in the most natural way possible #its all fun and games until someone kisses back with a little too much enthusiasm then suddenly BAM pregnant #lol jk #...unless?
