i bring a sort of "i don't want to draw the keyblade" vibe that my combat-centric animations really don't like

#a few of these shots are like 'yeah the keys are mostly done. suspicious lack of hands tho'#at this point i should just print out the starlight upgrades so i'll always have the reference on hand #future me's problem! present me's gonna SLEEP #talking tag #future me four days later reporting in: the keyblades are drawn and i am reusing the HELL outta them #there's something really neat abt skuld and eph having the upgrade with the crescent moon tip #whereas the upgrade in the cutscene provided by the wayfinder project gives player the next level of upgrade #that being the one with the additional gold detailing and the sun shaped tip #i think that's a REALLY cool choice to show not only how much player's become a formidable fighter #but that it makes their darkness ploy REALLY ironic when they're wielding a weapon with the most light-associated insignia #or under a similar reading; that their weapon betrays how they're actually fighting for the side of light (or even!#that it's not the light they're fighting for; it's skuld and ephemer. and they'll align themselves with darkness #if it means they both make it out alive)#it's such a self-serving choice that i adore to bits!

slightly hot take (?) but personally i felt the reactions in ep 17 were all in-character and justified... don't have the time to get into it, but it boils down to the fact that knowing something logically =/= knowing it emotionally

#star stumbles #fangs of fortune #大梦归离 #cdrama #people saying zhuo yichen was self-righteous when i really thought his speech to zhu yan was perfect #because it's basically saying that 'death is easy for you' and also acknowledging that him dying now would make ying zhao's sacrifice in va #*vain #like we all fought to save you so you have to live for another month regardless #and honestly 100% understand zhu yan too like he has no say in the matter and his existence is truly miserable (which zhuo yichen fully #recognizes let's be clear)#but i think it all comes down to the weapon and intention #like all weapons are made intentionless almost #in as much as a weapon can be. since weapons are made to destroy and go against nature even in the most small ways (cutting things #killing / protection / defense etc)#but even though the weapon must be wielded by someone to do harm #even though it is intentionless on it's own. that doesn't mean that the sight of the weapon does not inspire fear or hatred in the hearts o #those hurt by it #innocence or not #wen xiao and zhuo yichen both witnessed the horrible deaths of their loved ones...knowing that zhu yan wasn't the “true” killer doesn't #absolve him of the fact that malicious energy in his body killed them. like they're allowed their slightly emotional reactions to seeing hi #like that again & wen xiao doubly for finding out the real circumstances #i have no doubt she'll grow and forgive him to an extent but she's allowed to have her state of no forgiveness but also no hatred #ep 17

this was mostly me wanting to share the design for my Deltarune Monsterswap AU's monster Kris as they appear in the Dark World, but it also doubles as a little something else: a glimpse into one possible Weird Route. the Kris of this AU isn't bound to Player choice... and thus far less defenseless against their whims.

#kris dreemurr #deltarune #kris deltarune #deltarune AU #deltaswap #monster kris #my art #Deltarune Monsterswap #so a few fun notes about their design: since they're based on a cadejo I wanted to work in a lot of related details #they're a white/angel cadejo in the dark world :)#hence the blue eyes and halo circlet!#but aside from that! cadejos are also sometimes depicted with hooves and/or shackles and BOTH felt good symbolically #mind you the shackles have some other significance too but :)c shhhh. i'll dig into that at a later time. they're important tho.#and finally: instead of a sword they dual-wield a pair of macuahuitl bladed clubs! i wanted them to have something closer to their origin #and those fit the bill! pretty wicked weapons actually; those blade edges are obsidian shards. extremely sharp.#the ones on theirs are designed to look like teeth but that isn't exactly a traditional design. felt right for them tho #anyway. i really like how this came out tbh. they aren't legitimately threatening very often but... the dog has limits. :)

Question about the RPG AU... can IK and the brothers communicate while they're in weapon form??

oo, good question! my idea for this is this au's equivalent to pacts, which we'll call 'weapon seals' - so, ik can wield the brothers without the seal, but only as regular mundane weapons; once they've given her their seals, she then can access their powers and communicate through a sort of mental link

on the subject of the brothers' weapons though, here's another idea i had: to 'recharge' them after a battle, ik has to do maintenance that sorta corresponds with their power - lucifer's is light, so she has to leave him out in the sun, levi's is water, so she puts him in the bath

1. What is your favourite boss gameplay-wise?

Genuine answer? Artorias. Maria, Friede and Malenia are all very high on my list but they share in common a tendency to be extremely fast, agile and responsive bosses, which is not a criticism but I happen to be dogshit at Soulsborne games, so they frustrate me. There's satisfaction in beating them but it came at the cost of "I have a migraine from this" (exempting Maria because once I figured out that I could parry her, I found her easy).

Artorias on the other hand was a boss who smacked me around a lot, but I never felt OVERTLY demoralized. He's probably easy as shit now that I've beaten all the other Dark Souls titles, I do think I have improved, but I feel like he's the first 'stepping stone' of bosses who respond to you in a naturalistic way, ad I found him very satisfying to learn.

21. Best poison swamp?

Okay I have a love affair with the entire story/lore and aesthetic of Farron Keep so I have to give it to that one. Plus it's corner/capstoned by my favorite DS3 boss, so that helps.

22. If you were to add a weapon into the game, what would it be?

Oh god uh. Hm. I would like to see some kind of thrown weapon in Bloodborne. Like chakrams that you can pull part to make fist weapons or something. That would be fun.
