Sorry but if you write a magic reveal fic and
Arthur accepts Merlin’s magic with no fuss
Gwaine accepts Merlin’s magic with no fuss
Percival accepts Merlin’s magic with no fuss
Elyan is vilified because he hates magic so much and he’s just not good enough to overlook his bias, unlike Arthur and the other knights (most of whom explicitly hate magic)
Leon accepts Merlin’s magic with no fuss
Then you probably have a racism problem.
#edit: it’s not JUST that Elyan specifically is made out that way! it’s how all of his white counterparts AREN’T! it’s 1 thing if everyone is#but when it’s JUST him ?!?!?!? what the fuck#of all of the characters listed… Elyan is the most likely to accept magic (if you pay attention to canon that is)#yeah this is about that arcane dominion fic… what was that author thinking#i even left a comment about the double standards of writing Elyan as Irrationally Angry#while Arthur and Leon were Uncharacteristically Calm#the author really put the characters’ races before their characterization and used all of the racist tropes on Elyan…#there was a line later in that fic about how Arthur is Good because he ‘overlooked his bias’ or whatever and like… says a lot bout how you#view Elyan then… since he’s the one (1) character whose morality you were willing to sacrifice… hmmm…#the way Arthur and Leon get coddled…#fandom critical#tw racism#tw antiblackness#fandom racism#bbc merlin

What was everyone like as kids or what are they like with children?
(Headcanon Masterlist) (Full Masterlist)
I've literally been WAITING for this one (what they're like with kids)!!!
I have. Thoughts.
How they are with children:
SO. Arthur isn't great with children at first but not in the way that he's mean to them?? Like he's really lovely and supportive and sweet (because subconsciously he can't imagine ever treating children the way he was treated as a child), he just doesn't know what to talk to them about or how to treat them. He's really bad at knowing what is appropriate for children of various ages. Like... can a five year old sensibly hold a full length sword? Yeah probably. Can a seventeen year old be told about the birds and the bees? ABSOLUTELY NOT ARE YOU A LUNATIC THAT IS A TODDLER??? But I feel like once exposed he picks it up really quickly. Like it only takes him a couple hours at most with a group of children for him to get a good handle on how to deal with them, even if internally he feels a little overwhelmed.
Merlin is one of two extremes and I can't make up my mind. Either he's INCREDIBLE with kids, like ultra paternal and sweet and doting, super responsible and knows exactly what children need/want at any time. OR he's the complete opposite. A child hugs him to thank him for like... saving the village from a magical beasty or curing his mother's flu and he just... freezes, arms up in the air, eyes wide, looking around desperately for help because... there is a child on him... it won't get off... what do I do... "uh... there there, uh... no problem... please can you... uh.... where's your mum? Go... go find your mum... please." which everyone else finds absolutely hilarious, because he's normally such a sweet and affectionate person but when it comes to anyone who is obviously below sixteen years old, he just... doesn't know what to do. To be honest, I do lean more towards the first option, but maybe he, as a bastard, wasn't allowed near other children back in Ealdor, and certainly wasn't treated like one by anyone other than his mother. BUT as a physician, and a generally caring person, he'd be gooooood. Who knows, really.
We already know that Morgana is really good with children, naturally so, though I think the first time a child like... cries, or throws a genuine tantrum, she'd definitely be thrown for a loop. It would take her a little practice (and she'd need to persuade herself as well, because she's so worried about being overly cruel) to figure out when it's time to stop coddling, and start being stern. But once she gets the hang of it she's an absolute whizz.
Gwen practically raised Elyan, but they were a poor family with a working father and no mother after a certain point, so I think maybe she's a little... not sterner, but stricter? She worries more, because she worried so much about Elyan when they were younger, it's kind of ingrained at this point. She's definitely intuitive to what a child wants/needs, because she didn't have much time whilst she was looking after Elyan, so she had to figure out what he wanted/needed as quickly as possible so she could move on to other things. But all of this isn't to say she isn't fun! She's cool and funny and playful!! Kids love her!! They just pick up on how stressed she is sometimes.
Percival is great with young children(like below ten)/toddlers/babies, but gets a little awkward when they hit teenage-hood. Not me latching onto the headcanon that the "family" that was killed by Morgana (except it was Morgause in pretty much all of my AUs because Morgana doesn't go evil if I AU hard enough) was a wife and young kids. But yeah, his kids never got to become teenagers, so he never had any practice, and has a tendency to talk to them as if they're younger than they are (and if you've never interacted with a teenager... that is a sure fire way to piss them off lol).
I feel like Leon is the opposite though. He's dealt with a LOT of squires over the years (including a sulky, arsehole, teenage Arthur) so he is a PRO at dealing with teenagers, but younger children? Nope! Don't get me wrong, he's nice to them, but he has utterly no concept of how to deal with them. I feel like if he has any siblings, he's the middle or eldest (he gives off middle sibling vibes, don’t ask me why) child, but they're all pretty close in age, which means no experience with people far younger than him. OR even if he does have siblings that are a lot younger, he came from a Noble family that would have had nannies and carers. So yeah. Teens? Incredible! Younger? Awkward.
Elyan is in the middle. He's not overly fond of children, certainly isn't ready for any himself and isn't sure he ever will be, but he's nice to them. I don't think anyone in the gang, even the ones who don't like children, are nasty to them, but Elyan certainly leaves any children to be dealt with by someone else, if at all possible. The older they get the better he gets, though he's definitely still awkward with teenagers, maybe because he's still pretty young, and has his older sister around, so he doesn't feel like he should be in charge of them?? It would be like putting a uni student in charge of a group of sixteen year olds. Like... yeah, there's an age gap, yeah, he's technically smarter and older and more experienced than them, but it's still... weird.
Gwaine fucking blows everyone away. He is AMAZING with children and nothing will ever persuade me otherwise. Everyone worries that he would be reckless and irresponsible, but he's so not. He is the perfect mix of fun, and stern; kids respect him and do what he says, when he tells them to stop doing something naughty for example. He tosses them about and plays boisterously with them, but after even a second of watching you can tell that everything he does is measured and well placed and the kids are never in any danger of being actually hurt. I don't know if this comes from experience with kids, or if he's just naturally good with them, but yeah. Kids love him, and everyone else is perpetually baffled at that fact that he genuinely knows what he's doing.
Lancelot I feel is kinda similar to Elyan, but he likes kids. He tries hard to be supportive and sweet and loving and comforting, but he's just a little awkward sometimes. He's desperate to be a father one day, and to have a big family, and I feel like once he's got his own kids he'll be a natural, but before then he just... misses the mark occasionally, only slightly (Merlin teases him relentlessly, Gwen thinks it's cute).
Mordred is still a baby himself, but Druid clans are very tight knit. In my mind he's like Merlin, in that I can't make up my mind on whether he's TERRIBLE or INCREDIBLE. We met Mordred as a kid and he was quiet and withdrawn and... not to be mean, but creepy. But he's such a sweet seventeen-ish year old, so who knows! Maybe he could've grown out of that creepiness really quickly. He's definitely weird with teenagers though, because he outranks most teenagers he meets, he's buddies with The King... but he himself is still a teen. So it’s a bit weird. When he gets older he’s definitely gentle and educational to kiddies. Arthur is his idol after all, and he remembers the way Arthur took him under his wing.
I feel like Gaius is... good with kids, but nothing exceptional; he’s no Gwaine or Percival or maybe-Merlin. He’s a physician, and likely had plans of having children before the purge, so he’s decent enough but he’s not a natural. It takes a bit of patience for him to be able to deal with them, especially when they’re not doing what they’re meant to. He can console a sick kid, but will mostly leave it to the parents/Merlin, and he can make kids laugh, but he doesn’t really play with them or entertain them or anything. He’s decent enough, good even, but he doesn’t really have the time or energy to be any better than that.
~
I hope that’s the sort of thing you meant!!! I’ve held these opinions for quite some time😅
Keep ‘em coming!!
(and if you send me romance/relationship based ones, give me a ship as well please, I don’t write reader inserts or anything close)

Bbc Merlin? 💜
(anon asked the same 💙)
The first character I first fell in love with: merlin :') dragonlcrd videos my beloved :')) i was like wow this weird ass rat is kinda pretty and very sassy
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: elyannnn i mean i liked him as soon as he appeared first time watching and shipped perelyan and i thinkkk perelyaine and i was so angry when he died just on principle i entirely stopped caring about what happened after but i didn't realise just how delightful he was til i went through and found all his scenes and watched them bc i wanted to do text posts for all the knights and didn't know if he (or leon, or percival) had enough canon personality (he did) (percival was a struggle as was leon kinda) ig percival too although he hasn't changed from the placeholder man i saw him as while first watching :')
character everyone else loves that I don’t: arthur except i don't hate him as much as i act, like i would commit several crimes for s1 him it's more how hypocritical, evil in his utter ignorance, and honestly pathetic he is by s5 and how he’s coddled by the fandom. Also... im gonna get killed on sight for saying this aren't i but Merlin?? i used to and i get why but idk i'm just kinda... he doesn't interest me so much any more? i feel like there's nothing i want to add to what everyone else is doing which is GREAT btw and idk there are a lot of characters i love more :)
The character I love that everyone else hates: eira :') i adopted her for camelove day... 6 i think? and wrote her perspective of dotd and i just... i know i KNOW her plotline is the worst but she was demonised by the writers as much as any other female character and that's no reason to ignore her existence. Also idk about hate but i am a vivian stan and violent defender of her right to be as bitchy as she likes :D (except if it’s to gwen );) also people who hate mordred... why buddy? why
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: again merlin ig but also morgana. She... she's just... no. People make her out to be some feminist icon who was only bad bc the narrative portrays her that way and if she was just fighting for her people's freedom i'd probably agree. but she slaughters innocents, allies herself with all sorts of REALLY awful people whose actions she condones as long as they're not against her, tortures abuses and controls people who've done absolutely nothing to deserve it (Gwen, Mithian), and certainly by the end only cares about getting power. i... she's a villain. There's nothing wrong with liking villains of course, and i will still never forgive merlin for poisoning her, but she's not just 'misunderstood'. i used to be really big on morgana redemption but now don’t usually bother or include her in my fics bc i can’t see past what she did to gwen.
The character I would totally smooch: smooch? uhh...... lance?? Maybe??? probably not tho :/ hug however? gwen 🥺 elyan, percy,10/10 would braid gwaine's hair 🥰
The character I’d want to be like: probably gwen... tbf i relate to her a lot already i’m just not that lovely or accomplished 🤣
The character I’d slap:
[ID: A gif of goblin-possessed Gaius having a whale of a time slapping Uther’s bald head. End ID]
A pairing that I love: perelyan, perelyaine, elyaine, mergwencelot... etc etc etc rarepairs my beloved :’)
A pairing that I despise: aside from the obvious icky stuff and shipping teenage characters with adults... there’s not many i full on Despise. If merthur wasn’t so fucking ubiquitous i wouldn’t hate it half as much but alas :’) i have a grudge against perwaine simply bc people i’ve seen actually ship it are all height difference! banter!! flirting!!! all three of which perelyan has more of in canon plus they’re more affectionate and lbr percival made it pretty clear in 4x13 who he prefers (poor gwaine sitting there mangled and percy zooming straight past him🤣) and it kinda feels like people like perwaine more for the same reason elyan gets excluded from everything else and also it gets gwaine out the way of merthur but people can ship what they want and i don’t mind perwaine objectively so ig i digress... i also don’t like morgwen set in canon era for the above reasons but i can be swayed by modern au them (@mumble-muse’s xmas morgwen fic you’re an angel and we’re thrilled you're here, everyone go read and comment 🥰)
ty for the ask! 💜

YOU SURE CAN. i have like a list of prompts that came before this one that i should be doing,,, but i really wanted to try and write merwaine so badly isksksksk thank you for this opportunity. i hope i can do them justice with my first time🥺 (also lol i fangirled at your request bc i love your account sm asbskakak)
here it is on ao3 and under the cut! i hope you like it!!
Merlin watched Gwaine from his peripheral, thinking about everything and nothing at once. Gwaine has been with the knights for a few years now, right when Arthur took the crown, and Merlin hasn’t seen any indication that the man wanted to leave. But he will one day, won’t he? He has told Merlin many times how he doesn’t like staying in one place for too long, so Merlin never expected him to stay here as long as he has.
Merlin frowned at his thoughts on top of his mare, Honey, as Gwaine chatted with Percival and Leon. He was making them laugh, that smile of his shining through the darkening thoughts floating in Merlin’s mind. Merlin couldn’t help letting the soft smile slip through seeing how happy Gwaine made them—it seemed like Gwaine had that effect on everyone, Merlin mused.
Arthur was talking with Lance and Elyan, so Merlin let his mind start wandering. His magic was itching to escape—it has been since the morning they left on this hunt. Merlin knew Arthur just wanted to flee the restraints of the castle, and, honestly, Merlin had been feeling the same way for days.
Lately, Gwaine had been avoiding him. Well, Merlin thinks Gwaine had been avoiding him, at least, and Gwaine never does that, ever. He’d been thinking that he must have hurt Gwaine somehow, but every time he thought back to their last interaction, where nothing seemed wrong, he had no idea where the distance was coming from. He had been making Gwaine laugh at training, and after that day, he hadn't been able to get more than five words to him.
He missed Gwaine.
That thought made him frown once more at the offending trees they were passing. He missed Gwaine because Gwaine was his friend, nothing more. The more he tried to convince himself of that fact, the more unlikely it became. Frustrated, Merlin let some of his prickling magic flow out his fingertips to his mare, smoothing away her small aches.
Merlin patted her neck with a small smile as she sighed out in contentment—at least he could do one thing right lately. Magic, he thought with heart panging a bit, still wasn’t free and Arthur has been on the throne for about five years. It hurts, still after all this time, that something as pure as this would lead to his death—but he knew deep down that he wasn’t afraid of dying, not anymore. No, Merlin was terrified of how his friends would react after years of deceit and pain.
Just out of reflex, Merlin looked towards them. He found Gwaine staring at him, concern written on every feature, but the second their eyes met, his friend quickly started up another conversation with the others.
Merlin ignored the deepening pang in his chest and the nausea rising in his throat—this was nothing, he told himself, Gwaine didn’t mean anything by that.
The lie left a bitter taste in his mouth.
He was about to suggest they stop, wanting a distraction, when he heard the noise. His mare also stopped, feeling him stiffen. Merlin whipped his head to the side, his eyes narrowing.
“Merlin?” Gwaine quickly came to his side, but Merlin’s head didn’t move, “Do you hear something?”
Merlin wished he didn’t, just so he could use this as an excuse to talk to him, but he scowled lowly in response, “Bandits—ten, if I’m right, and many have magic.”
He knew Gwaine wouldn’t ask how he knew—he never did.
The man nodded, and Merlin’s heart lightened a bit when Gwaine didn’t say “to relax” or that “he was paranoid” like the rest of the knights would’ve done. It always felt good to not be second-guessed.
“How long do we have?”
Merlin tilted his head, “Two minutes, at most.”
Gwaine grunted in response, galloping towards Arthur. Merlin didn’t like the void he felt in his heart the second Gwaine left his side, but, shaking his head, he knew there were more important matters to think about. Merlin watched, amazed, as the knight got everyone’s attention so easily. The way he talked, with his rare seriousness expression, captivated everyone just as much as his joking did.
And although Merlin tried to convince himself that the knights would listen to him that way if he told them, he knew they would never.
Merlin was a simple country boy, wasn’t he? He had no credibility to them. He couldn’t truly blame them—it’s not like Merlin was an open book. He lied, but never completely. His cheerful, idiotic personality was a cover of sorts, but it was just another part of who he was. He wasn’t only the clumsy fool, but what could he do to show them otherwise? They knew Gwaine hid his problems in jokes and clever remarks, so what was so wrong with Merlin doing the same? Merlin didn’t know, and he didn’t think he wanted to.
Showing them the magic, the part that was so integral to who he was, would lead them to fear him, not respect him as one of their own. He didn’t want recognition, that’s never why he did what he does, but some form of understanding between them all is what he craved, what he wished. To not be second-guessed when he knew everyone’s lives were at stake and that he could save them...but that was only a fool’s dream.
He stopped with the rest of the knight when Gwaine convinced them that something was coming.
“Merlin,” Gwaine said from the top of the group, “go to the tree line, you won’t get hurt there.”
Merlin nodded with a carefully blank face—the battling emotions, of love and irritation, whirling inside of him.
They don’t know you can protect yourself, the logical part of his mind reminded him. After all these years, Merlin thought, I should be able to accept the coddling with a full heart. It showed that they do care about him, but why did it never feel that way? Merlin felt like an obstacle in their way—someone to protect, to always watch out for, a hindrance.
Merlin felt silly for the negative thoughts—none of this could be helped right now, so why dwell on these facts?
Aiming for the most advantageous spot, Merlin saw the first bandit pop out next to Eylan, who effectively took the man down. Percy patted him on the back as they moved around Arthur, flanking their king in preparation of the ambush.
As the air pulsed with anticipation, Merlin’s eyes strayed towards Gwaine, like always. The man’s face was grime, ready for battle, as he surveyed the surrounding area.
Merlin was distracted as a noise came from behind him, and he quickly spun around to face the intruder. The bandits with magic were walking smoothly towards him and Merlin panicked—do I attack? He changed his mind quickly, not thinking about it too much, as he turned around and ran towards his group to warn them.
Merlin guessed the obvious panic on his face spurred the knights to run towards him, but it was too late. One of the bandits threw a spell at him with a force that threw him to the side, hitting a nearby tree.
He vaguely heard the shouting of the knights as the attackers surrounded them, all eight of them chanting under their breaths as they did so, forcing the circle of the roundtable knights to still. Merlin groaned in pain, lifting himself.
Protect them. Protect them.
His only goal—and it has been since the beginning. In that moment, Merlin realized how unimportant it was that they never knew about the magic. The knights knew how much Merlin loved them, so everything else was secondary. Merlin, with or without his magic, would always put himself in danger if it meant his friends can see the next day.
Pulling himself up with the tree, he shook his head and listened to the droning monologue of the leader.
Same shit, as always.
Merlin couldn’t help but laugh—loudly. The monotonous speaker abruptly stopped talking as they all stared at Merlin laughing.
He couldn’t help it, honestly.
The leader narrowed his eyes at him, “What’s so funny, boy?”
Arthur and Gwaine shook their heads in looks that screamed “shut up, Merlin,” but Merlin held his stomach as the laughter subsided, the smile still on his face as he replied, “Nothing, I swear,” but then another chuckle escaped as the leader frowned at the answer.
When one of the lackeys stepped forwards with a sword pointing at him, Merlin sobered up, a smirk in place, as he lifted his hands in surrender, “Okay, okay. I’ll tell you! It’s just...every time this happens, one of you always explains why you are doing what you are doing. And every time, and I mean every time, it is revenge for what Uther did. Who, by the way, is long dead. Arthur, like always, gets blamed for his father’s actions. Are you guys just daft, or does everyone truly believe Arthur is actually Uther? It’s quite simple, really. Uther was a tyrant—I think we can all agree on that, but attacking his son? What’s the purpose? To show the King that magic can never be used for good? You know when all he sees is magic being used against him, of course he will hate it. What other choice would he have, hmm?”
Merlin’s smile dropped off as he shook his head, walking towards the stunned group, “Honestly! I get it, I truly do, but this will never solve anything. You are perpetuating the violent cycle, you understand?”
At Merlin’s question, the leader growled, “All I see is a stupid servant running his mouth.”
Merlin’s face lit up, “Interesting. Nothing took, then?”
He heard Gwaine sigh, “Merls?”
Merlin looked over at the knight, who had a small smile on his face, “Yes, Sir Knight?”
Gwaine laughed a bit, “You might be slightly more dramatic than me, and that’s impressive, to say the least. You think your lovely wit could save us?”
Merlin smiled at the knight, his heart feeling more full than it has all week, and winked, “Well, it was worth the shot?”
And as they just continued smiling at each other, Merlin saw the leader blink and shake his head, muttering something to one of his followers with nothing but malice on his face.
Merlin watched, almost in slow motion, as the next spell was directed at Gwaine.
That wasn’t the plan.
Merlin yelled, “No!” as he sprinted and leapt in front of the knight as the spell hit home. Merlin gasped in pain, staring in shock at the sizzling hole in his abdomen, and he heard the leader laugh.
Merlin's focus narrowed solely on the leader, everything else drowning out as that malicious laugh continued. The bandits all started chanting once more, circling the group, and when he started hearing the grunts of pain from his friends, Merlin’s mind, in a moment of pure clarity, repeated: protect them.
So, with a hole in his stomach, Merlin straightened up and locked eyes with the people hurting his friends.
“This stops. Now.”
And before they could get another word in, Merlin’s eyes burned the brightest molten gold. The wind whipped, the sky darkened, and the ground shaking with Merlin being the center of it all. The bandits backed up hastily, staring at Merlin like a newly found god, and Merlin blinked at the action—their actions full of desperate fear, and that wasn’t right. He never wanted to be feared.
Merlin let the power steep into his voice, “Leave now and never hurt anyone ever again. Do you understand?”
They all shook their heads, bowing at the waist for him, and right before they ran with their tails between their legs Merlin could swear he could hear their whispers of Emrys.
The minute they were out of sight, Merlin sagged. His entire body felt like it was on fire, his brain had pulsating pain that felt like lightning behind his eyes. And when his strength left, he felt two people’s arms wrap around him.
Looking up with all his effort, Merlin saw Lance and Gwaine on either side of him, the latter with a sword up at the abnormally silent group.
The world was blurring when Merlin heard Gwaine snarl at the king, “You take one wrong step and I will run you through.” And even in his state of delirium, Merlin knew Gwaine meant it.
“Gwaine,” Merlin whispered, the pain lacing through his body in waves, “it’s okay.”
“No, it’s not,” Gwaine bit back still facing Arthur and the knights with his sword raised high.
Merlin smiled sadly, staring at his knight, “Gwaine?”
That got the man’s attention, the anger draining out of him the minute their eyes met, and Merlin continued quietly, “Thank you.” The “thank you for not hating me for having magic, thank you for protecting me, thank you for being here” went unsaid, but not unheard.
Merlin saw Gwaine’s eyes water, “You’re going to be fine, Merls, you’ve been through worse, you know? This is nothing.”
Merlin let out a wet laugh, “Yeah, maybe.”
Gwaine was speaking again, but Merlin couldn’t hear him anymore. The pain became too much then, so Merlin let the black spots in his vision take over, and he welcomed oblivion with a smile.
—————
The next few times Merlin woke up, he was against someone’s front with a horse galloping at full speed underneath him. He would groan, but quickly succumb to the pain again.
The first time he could actually open his eyes completely, he was staring at a very familiar ceiling. Merlin gasped as he tried to move, his hand flying to his stomach.
“Merlin! Don’t move, my boy,” Gaius’s worried face came into view, “You need some rest, but you’re going to be just fine.”
Merlin figured as much when he took the hit, knowing his magic wouldn’t let him die that easily.
He blanched, remembering what happened, “Gaius?” he rasped out, his voice felt scratchy like he had been screaming for hours, “Is everyone…?”
Gaius frowned, but Gwaine, who Merlin just noticed was sitting right next to him, answered for him with nothing cheerful on his face, “Everyone is fine, thanks to you.”
Merlin sighed in relief, looking back up to the ceiling, and he heard Gaius pat Gwaine as he moved out the door leaving the two of them alone.
They sat in a comfortable silence until Merlin asked, his voice small, “Gwaine, what happened?”
Gwaine huffed out a breath, out of anger or pain, Merlin didn’t know, as Gwaine moved to sit next to him on the cot. Merlin grunted a little as he moved to make room for him, and Gwaine frowned at the noise.
“I’m fine, I promise.”
Gwaine looked at him in clear disbelief, “I’m sure.”
Merlin sighed, looking up at the knight, “Tell me?”
Gwaine nodded in defeat, “I threatened princess, as you know,” Merlin nodded, a frown forming, “I was going to throw you over my shoulder and run for it.”
Merlin blinked, “That was your plan? Even when you’re mad at me, you were still going to take me with you?”
Gwaine’s eyes widened, “I’m not mad at you! What made you think that?”
Merlin looked to the side, “You’ve been avoiding me, Gwaine, I know it.”
Gwaine flinched, “Oh. That.”
After the moment of heavy silence, with Merlin’s heart feeling like it was breaking, he moved on, “Whatever, you obviously didn’t need to use that plan since I’m home. What happened?”
Gwaine smiled a bit here, “Well, Sir Lancelot and I stood our ground. Lance had a lot to say about you for a man of such a few words. While I lifted you up, and took you away from the group, Lance told them everything. Arthur,” Gwaine shook his head, “he looked betrayed and hurt at first, but after a day of Lance’s tales of you, and mentioning how you literally just saved us once again without bloodshed, Arthur finally came to his senses—especially when I kept threatening him.”
Merlin started crying, unwillingly, blindly grabbing for Gwaine’s hand, “So, what now? Everyone knows and I’m not dead? Am I banished? Hated? Feared?”
Gwaine’s face was uncharacteristically soft as he wiped the tears from Merlin’s face with his other hand, “Now...now, we make history and show these assholes what they’ve been missing. Merlin,” he tightened his grip on his hand, “I always knew something was different about you. And I never, ever, feared you for a moment—even as you made those bandits shit themselves.” Gwaine let out a small laugh at that, the soft smile returning to his face, “I don’t know how many times I need to say this until it gets through that stubborn head of yours: I came to Camelot for you and you alone. No princess or wealth keeps me here, you do.” Gwaine stilled his hand on Merlin’s face, “And if I needed to, I wouldn’t have hesitated to grab you and run—I’ve always been prepared for that, actually.”
Merlin kept crying, “Then why?” Why have you been distancing yourself? Why did you make me think you hated me? Why are you so loyal to me?
Gwaine's face fell at Merlin’s hoarse and quiet question, “I’m not good enough for you. I knew how I felt, and I knew you deserved better than me. I haven’t stayed in one place this long before, and I thought if you knew that you were the only person keeping me here that I would scare you off before we even had a chance.”
Merlin stared at his knight, understanding and sadness flowing through him, “Gwaine,” he choked out, “you’re an idiot.”
Gwaine gaped, undignified, “Hey! Bold words for a man who is utterly vulnerable at this moment.”
Merlin laughed lightly, “An idiot,” he continued, “who I love.”
Gwaine’s eyes shone brightly, “Love,” the disbelief in his voice hurting Merlin’s heart, “You love me? Merls, are you sure?”
Merlin laughed again at the absurdity of the wild man in front of him, “Yes, Gwaine, I am sure. Only if you wouldn’t mind facing the uncertainty of my future—“
Merlin was cut off with a loud, surprise gasp when Gwaine threw himself on top of him for a hug, then grabbing his face, and placing a rather soft kiss to his lips.
“Merlin. I would rather be at your side, with the threat of the world crushing us, than anywhere else. You, my magically beautiful friend, will never feel alone again in this life. I give you my sword, my heart, and everything I am—if you will have me.”
Merlin nodded, his eyes watering once more, and smiled into the next kiss with his knight.
Merlin felt the burden of destiny in his soul lift in his embrace with Gwaine—and he knew, deep in his heart and soul, that with Gwaine at his side, they could face any uncertainty coming their way.

ikevamp reaction to seeing mc cry
hello its me how are u and u better say good and u better mean it >:(
napoleon: leon, like a child watching it's mother cry when she thought he wasn't looking, would have no idea what to do. of course, he didn't want to embarrass her further, but he couldn't stand to leave her alone, so he crept into the room that was silent aside from her gentle whimpers, sniffles and gasps and crept his arms around her waist, resting his chin atop her shoulder. he was silent for a long while, gently nuzzling his face into the crook of her neck before he mumbled, "nunuche, i'll keep you safe so stop crying. when i made my promise to protect you, it included protecting your heart."
mozart: mozart would awkwardly stare at her for a few moments before carefully grabbing a handkerchief from his pocket and reaching to cup her cheek in one hand, dabbing her tears away with the other. "there's no need to cry, meine liebe, not with me beside you." he'd try to help, gently stroking her cheek with his thumb after drying her tears. "whatever's making you cry... i'll make it better. now hush yourself and get some rest. i'm right here." he'd be silent a few long moments before deciding to hum quietly, a gentle song he'd composed himself to put her to sleep with.
leonardo: Leonardo would be somehow prepared, unsurprised, immediately jumping into action by swooping her into his arms and carrying her back to his room to lay her on his bed and wrap himself around her. "let it out, cara mia." he'd hum, stroking her hair gently. "i'm right here. get all those tears out so you can tell me what's bothering you." he'd say and place a gentle kiss on her forehead. his main priority would be to figure out why she was crying so he could brainstorm a way to fix it. he hated seeing her cry.
arthur: Arthur would react in an instant, coddling her cheeks and ducking to press a few quick pecks to her lips, one after another. "mm, i'm here, y/n." he'd coo. "right here. don't cry." he'd raise his head to peck her forehead, and then pull back with a small, calming smile. "look at me. instead of crying, let's talk, hm? i promise i'll make it better." there would be something suggestive in his tone, turning it into a bit of a teasing remark, but the familiarity of his personality would make her feel safe until enough to melt into his arms and slow her tears. "now tell me what's on that pretty mind."
vincent: the majority of vincent's comfort would be silent, instantly tucking her into his chest when he caught sight of her tears and brushing her hair down with his palms, pressing occasional kisses to her forehead/hair. his touches would be warm, comforting, and her tears would dry on his sweater until she was calmer, and he'd ask if she was hungry or tired, his main concern being to make sure she was physically okay before he'd say, "i don't like seeing you cry. next time just tell me what's bothering you, okay?" with a small, warm smile.
theo: theo would sigh, raising one eyebrow in surprise before he swooped her up into his arms. "dogs shouldn't cry." he muttered. "all the other dogs are happy creatures, you're ruining their reputation." he'd like the feeling of having her in his arms, wrapped up and unable to escape, because he'd know he was the only one who could get to her and therefore nothing could hurt her except him, should he choose to. (he never would.) "how silly to cry when you're perfectly safe. go to sleep and wake up when you're calm enough to speak to me."
isaac: "are you crying?" would be the first thing he'd say, eyes widening in disbelief before he cleared his throat and opened his arms, gently placing his hand on the back of her head to awkwardly pull her against his chest. "come here. if i hold you like this, will you stop crying?" he'd wrap his other arm around her waist, keeping her against him in silence until her tears finally stopped. "seeing you like that is uncomfortable, i ask that you don't cry anymore."
dazai: he would laugh a bit, fondly, and press his hands to your cheeks, pulling their faces close so he could peck a kiss on the tip of her nose. "what's this? you're not crying, are you? apologies, y/n-san, but you can't." he'd warn before his hands would fall to her sides and he'd tickle her until her tears were no-longer sad and she begged him to stop through giggles. he’d try to keep her distracted until later that night when he'd go to her room to ask about whatever made her cry so she could get past it.
jean: jean would look around, searching for anyone else who could comfort her but when he found none, he'd offer her his hand and if she took it, he'd carefully wrap an arm around her and hold her silently until she stopped crying. "you shouldn't cry into the chests of men... it's hard to control oneself when you look so vulnerable and in need of such comfort." he'd scold softly, wiping her tears with the pad of his thumbs before stepping back respectfully. "you should rest. it will make you feel better."
will: "with what circumstances have come the lady's tears?" he'd ask quietly, leaning forward to kiss her tears away and lick the salt from his lips, stroking her chin with his thumb. "to make a creature such as yourself cry such beautiful, crystalline tears is nothing short of criminal, and i shall take it upon myself to punish those who have committed said crimes." he'd hum, smiling calmly the whole time. "and in the meantime, i expect you to allow yourself to stop crying and rest. i will stay by your side the entire time."
comte: "ah," he'd coo, gently taking her chin in one hand to force her to look at him as his other hand fell to her hip, keeping her close to him. "what's wrong, little one? has someone hurt you?" his words would be kind, tone coaxing her to reply, but even through her tears she could see just a hint of anger in his eyes at the idea of someone hurting you. "tell me what's wrong, ma cherie, and then allow me to make it better." he'd lean down and kiss her forehead, using the hand previously on her chin to wipe away her tears.
sebastian: Sebastian would frown, grabbing a handkerchief to dry her cheeks with. "there's no need to cry." he'd say. "but for now, take this and let all of your tears out. we don't need them interrupting your work, hm?" he'd pull her into his arms when she took the handkerchief from him and press a firm kiss to her temple. one of his hands would press firmly to her lower back while the other flattened against the back of her head, gently stroking her hair. "i hope you don't cry in front of the others like this," he'd mumble, kissing her head again. "i want to be the only one who comforts you like this. please allow me just that."

Dark curse season two episode list
The mob. After the curse everyone wants Uma dead. Evie forms a mob to get her (think Doctor whale at the start of season two of ouat)
The old man and the tyrant. Wilhelmina (Victoria Justicr) makes herself known to yen sid (Hugh Laurie). Who’s stuck in a nursing home.
Queen Clarion. Gradie Doug and jay ask the queen of the Neverland fairies (Kiera knightly) for help in escaping Neverland
Alone. Evie (still reeling from her husbands disappearance) completely washes her hands of Mal because the dark fairy queen refuses to kill Uma. The episode ends with Evie meeting Wilhelmina at a bar
Sisters. Evie is brainwashed by Wilhelmina to be just like her.
Through the looking glass. Gradie Doug and jay finally make it out of Neverland. Only to land in the middle of a battle between the Hightopp clan and the remaining playing cards in Wonderland
The cat. Spotlight episode for Chester/Leon Taylor (Zac Efron). Mostly trying to get Evie free of her sisters conditioning
A most violent death. Chaudrey spotlight episode. It ends with their death at evil Evie’s hands.
Four witches. This is a turning point in Uma and Mal’s relationship. Mal saves her from Evie and Wilhelmina. Via a massive two vs two witch battle. That only ends because Uma causes a cave in that almost kills Wilhelmina
Reunion. Gradie Doug and jay make it back to Auradon. Grant and Doug reunite with their cousins and Evie. Hadie makes a beeline for Mal. Jay goes to Carlos. Only to find that Carlos is now with Jane.
Audrey. In the underworld Audrey seeks out the help of Charon the ferryman (Colin Salmon) in order to help Mal defeat Wilhelmina. Mid season finale
Father. Chaudrey gets an audience with hades (John Barrowman). At the end of the episode hades and chaudrey burst into Auradon in electric blue fire scaring the pants off of pain and panic (Chris and Liam Hemsworth)
The modern Prometheus. Hades (Eva Green) fully resurrects Harry and the twins. While Uma has a tearful reunion with the children Hadie pulls his (fully amnesiac) brother aside and threatens to murder him in front of Uma and the kids should he look at Mal the wrong way. (Hadie still hasn’t learned his lesson)
The Vorpal Sword. Dizzy decides that the only way to save her mother is to kill her aunt. Even if she dies in the process. Her life being put in danger is what finally breaks Evie free of Wilhelmina’s control
The first mate. This episodes flashbacks show Harry’s childhood. From birth (IE. when James Hook realised he conceived a child with the lord of the underworld) to his less the happy childhood as the overlooked and under cared for middle child (his father blatantly calls him “the bastard mistake”) to hades (Eva Green) reappearing in his life to meeting Uma to meeting Gil. All the way to his halfassed resurrection at Hadie’s hands. In the present day an amnesiac Harry is still trying to remember who he is. Hades (Sebastian Stan) lets Hadie have it for bringing Harry and the twins back in such w cruel traumatising way
The Godmother. Wilhelmina centred. Her (the titular godmother), Arthur (Tom Holland) and Guinevere Pendragon (Saoirse Ronan) and Silas (David Mazouz) summon the tweedle demons (Daniel Radcliffe and Matthew Lewis) to indoctrinate Taran Hightopp (Charlie Rowe) into their inner circle
The children of hades. The flashbacks consist of hades (Sebastian Stan, Eva Green and Jesse L Martin) meeting, falling in love with and subsequently siring children with Danae (Anne Hathaway) James Hook (Robert Carlyle) and Maleficent (Charlize Theron). In Auradon it’s Hadie who gets Harry to remember with a very mean spirited speech “you are nothing. You have always been nothing. You will always be nothing. Well. Nothing except what your father far too generously described you as. The bastard mistake”. Then Harry slaps him around the face. And they fight. Nearly causing a town wide blackout in the process
The Merry Men. Evie’s in the prison along with Robin Hood. Both voluntarily. For the crimes they committed (Robin was a corrupt cop under the curse. Evie blames herself for the whole brainwashing thing) Silas visits them both. Commending Evie in her blandness. And saying that robin has 48 hours to locate his wife or she’s fed to the tweedles. This is where the Merry men come in
An oath on the Styx. Hadie, fed up with Harry being coddled and everyone seemingly forgetting that Uma cast the curse (She’s been hanging around Mal a lot recently trying to mend fences) forces pain and panic (now Abby Ryder fortson and Pearce Gagnon) to dispose of Harry in the most humiliating painful way possible. He doesn’t care what happens when hades finds out (probably renounce Hadie’s immortality) he just wants Harry gone and Uma to hurt. He makes the two swear on the river Styx. All three know that if it doesn’t happen. Terrible things will befall the pair
Taran Hightopp. Wilhelmina has been at it again. She’s successfully brainwashed her half brother Taran (Charlie Rowe) and has sent him to kill Uma. Taran dies at Harry’s hands. Meanwhile the subplot is about CJ Hook (Florence Pugh) and Sadie Meyer (Sabrina Carpenter) getting re-engaged. The flashbacks chronicle their relationship.
The death of Harry Hook. Hadie finally did it. He finally got his brother killed. The exact same way Wilhelmina killed Harriet. Sword to the gut and a heart rip. But this happened in front of the twins. So Uma tries to stab him with an in use fire poker. The episode ends with hades (John Barrowman) banishing Hadie to another realm. And Harry’s funeral. Which is only attended by Uma hades (Eva Green) and the twins
Rosemary. Wilhelmina sacrifices Arthur Pendragon to the Tweedles and brings her aunt (Rene’s mother) to Auradon from Wonderland Rosemary the former red queen (Jennifer Morrison) to help her kill Uma. In Arendelle Hadie seeks out the help of queen Eloise (Elizabeth Gillis) the daughter of Kristoff and Anna for help in getting back home and banishing his father back to the underworld.

honestly the fact that arthur doesn’t reveal that he’s been the one jousting completely goes against the message of this ep. because the whole point has been about the fact that arthur is rude and arrogant and gets away with it because he’s the prince, the fact that people coddle him because he’s the prince, and leon and co letting him win jousts is just another version of that, it’s another version of him being rude to gwen and facing no consequences. the point of this ep being you should treat people based on how they are and not their title - and that goes both ways. again with this show’s morals saying that being nice and good are the same thing. jfc
