I! LOVE! THEM! SO! FUCKING! MUCH!!!

HOLY shit.

One of 7 (seven) canon ships that I am deeply, horribly, incredibly invested in and have very unhinged feral feelings for. And I mean 7 outta all of the canon ships in all of the movies and shows and books I have ever interacted with. And this ship is one of those seven.

My biggest weakness when it comes to canon ships, specially m/f ships, is the simple rule of thumb - When is a monster not a monster? Oh, when you love it.

Caroline, my beautiful sunshine angel who does not take anybody's shit (including Klaus') is just the perfect woman to balance out Klaus' utterly unhinged bastard energy and murder spree.

And he's so soft for her. Few things melt me more than when the villainous murderer is so soft for the one he loves.

You have no idea how bitter I am about The Originals, how viciously furious I still am that I had to see this whole damn show unfold and Klaroline wasn't endgame. He promised he would wait for her. I kept waiting for Caroline to join the bloody main cast of this bloody show and to become his love interest, I mean holy shit stepmom Caroline for Hope??? Hello? Yes??

Very few shows have devastated me more than the TVD verse with how it ended both these characters after teasing me with a potential of endgame for them, even if it were decades or centuries down the lane, he would have waited for her.

They alone make me want to rewatch Vampire Diaries even though I know it will punch me in the gut and slap me in the face with their awful horrible no good Caroline-related decisions in later seasons. Maybe I'll just stop watching after Klaus leaves. But gods I miss them pretty much every day.

Season 1 episode 5 [A Vile Hunger For Your Hammering Heart] - part 1/2

- Previously... Trouble in the Unholy Family.

- Hey, did y'all notice that the intro card, the red sky with the skyline, actually changes? I was rewatching some parts of s2 and noticed that the skyline is different cities, but some buildings disappear from one episode to another.

- *wheezes* What the hell is this opening. Loumand indulging in some exhibitionism for Daniel while Daniel's going through Claudia's exploits. Hilarious. This show is a comedy, I swear. Holy shit, look at Armand's face, he's having the time of his life. And Louis doesn't give a shit, man wants his blood and that's it. Freaks. I love them.

[Daniel] "I'm trying to think of something more fucked up than this." - I don't know, what's going on in front of you maybe? *dies of laughter*

- [Rashid/Armand] "'And how is your work any different? Well, what do you think will happen to Mr du Lac when you publish this book, when the other vampires of the world get their hands on it?' [Daniel] 'As long as they pay full freight.' [Rashid/Armand] 'They will make their way to Dubai. They will scale the sides of this building, force their way inside, and paint the walls with his blood. You are chronicling a suicide. Do not look down on Claudia. Look in the mirror.'"

... Hey, Armand? Pot meets kettle. Don't pretend you care about Claudia. You could stop this any time you want. You're enjoying this, you're enjoying Louis' pain, you're thinking that the book will never see the light of day, that you're in control of the entire narrative, that you can stop this any time you want, that nothing will come out of this enterprise. You're thinking that if, if it comes to this, you'll get to play hero and "save" Louis' life again, and thus tie him even more to yourself. You're assisting that suicide, Armand. You just think that you're in control of the dosage. Look in the mirror.

- [Louis] "Honey and pineapple. He stuffs himself with both for days before he offers himself to me." - Lou baby I love you but you are insane. And also there are things you'd do better to keep in your head, actually. This whole roleplay thing is crazy. I'm imagining Daniel thinking back on these moments after he's turned and just going "what in the seven hells was that".

- [Rashid/Armand] "I care for him more than I care for himself." - oooh, did you guys notice that quick side glance Louis throws at Armand there? That line is Armand being genuine and Louis going "hey dear that's not in the script, what are you saying". Louis is done with both Armand and Daniel, he's being very bitchy and mean.

- What'd that bird do to you, Louis? Leave the poor birdy alone.

Aw, how the tableturns have turned, or however that expression goes. Now you're trying to get her to feed when you made Lestat's life hell refusing to eat yourself...

- Lestat reading and mocking Claudia's diary = Damon Salvatore reading and mocking Stefan and Elena's diaries (my first vampire show was Vampire Diaries, sorry, can't escape your past and all that).

- Oof, Claudia shattering the mirror and Louis being the cautious, angry one for once. Family's in trouble. And then the river of corpses... Oh, trouble, trouble all around.

- Ugh. Tom fucking Anderson is back. When does he die again because he's ugh.

- [Anderson] "Every single one of those corpses had some soft part of it lopped off. Finger here, a foot there... a toe." - yeah, I'm good with blood, but body parts? Claudia's trophies? That is actually stomach turning.

- [Lestat] "One each" - power couuuuuple. Look at them go! Unstoppable when they finally work together, and so in synch. That's what we like to see! Also let's just get rid of Anderson now, thanks.

- Oh, man, Claudia being drunk when the cops are searching the house, half comedy, half horror show. And then the real horror starts as she gathers her trophies. Ah, fuck, I had forgotten about the half dead guy in the closet. She craaaazy.

- [Lestat] "You wanted her, you fix her!" - when one of your parent tells the other "that's your child" when you do or behave in a way they hate. Classic parent stuff.

[Louis] "'We're doing this together.' [Lestat] 'Do you remember our life, how happy we were before her?' [Louis] 'Happy? We were not happy!' [Lestat] 'An anvil, tied around our ankles, pulling us towards the pitch-black ocean floor.'"

Ouch. You ever hear your parents fighting because of you, blaming you for their issues? Yeah... Can't say I blame Claudia for going off the rails.

- [Claudia] "Who am I supposed to love? You two have each other. Who's my Lestat? Who's my Louis? I'm not human. What human would want me? Perverts? Like the uncle at the rooming house who used to watch me pee? Or little boys? And 40 years from now... still little boys? How are you gonna fix it, huh? Which one of you gonna fuck me?!"

Hey, more of Claudia's fucked up backstory. 'You broke it, you fix it', except they can't even begin to understand what's broken, because she's right, they've got each other, even when they fight, that's Louis-and-Lestat, Lestat-and-Louis, they can't even understand why she's so mad and so sad and so angry. Kinda like when allosexual alloromantic people tell you, an aro ace person "but you don't love?" - bitch, I do love, I just don't wanna date anybody, thanks. L&L to Claudia: "but we're a family, we're rich and we're powerful, why are you not happy". Claudia: "bitch, maybe because I'm stuck as a kid for the rest of eternity while my mind and spirit age and I gotta see you two romance each other every fucking night while knowing that nobody will ever want to romance me?".

- [Claudia] "'I'm gonna go out there and find other vampires.' [Lestat] 'If you could find them, which you won't, they would shred you to strips, because you are build like a bird, because you are a mistake.'"

Bedside manners, Lestat. You know the worst thing, Lestat does warn here that she'd be in danger, but he does it in such a mocking, cruel manner that obviously she doesn't believe him and doesn't even take him seriously.

- Louis' dejected scoff when Lestat tells him he's killing Antoinette soon. These madmen are so bad at communicating.

- [Louis] "We made her out of remorse, out of selfishness." - ah, the self-awareness brought by a century of reflecting on your past. But what's that "we", Louis? You wanted her out of remorse, as your penance, your redemption for your sins and mistakes. Lestat made her out of love and pity for you.

- [Daniel] "'Poor dear. She wasn't held enough in between ritualistic murders.' [Louis] 'She spent every night for half a decade with no friends, locked in the emotional storm of puberty.' [Daniel] 'Look, Charlie Manson wrote a couple of beautiful songs. Still, he was Charlie Manson.' [Louis] 'Is that all you think of her?' [Daniel] 'Mostly. I also think she makes you and Frenchy look like a couple of whiny, existential queens. Probably why she's a fucking goldmine. The girl who moves a million books.' [Louis] 'I won't have her exploited.' [Daniel] 'Won't matter what your intentions are. It's the world out there now. She's the - the... single-shooter, Xbox, mouth-breather shit they crave.'"

Daniel's right. Look at us, we fucking love Claudia. She's a psycho, she's murderous, she's cold-blooded... She's our babygirl. She's our bicon. She's the moment. We love her because she's unhinged and feral and unapologetic about her pain and anger.

I love this writing, how it totally recontextualizes the whole story in the 21st century. Book!Claudia is disturbing, little blond angel with blood on her teeth, the eternal child with the wisdom and anger of a grown woman. Show!Claudia is pure attraction and mass adoration, the symbol of teenage angst with all of a lifetime of anger and rebellion. We relate to her, we the generations that have had to grow up so fast while simultaneously stunted, can't find jobs but expected to be way more qualified than our parents, can't buy a house but gotta be way more independent and resourceful and crafty than our elders. The whole world at our fingertips but completely unable to reach it, stuck in an eternal loop of doom and gloom as we watch the world burn without having the slightest power to stop it.

And of course Daddy Lou still wants to protect her from that, even in death, still sees her as his precious little daughter/sister who needs sheltering and safeguarding, even after she tells him she's not that kid anymore.

Well, that was heavy. Doom and gloom indeed. Don't think part 2 will get any better.

“The Mysterious Salvatore Brother” (The Vampire Diaries: Season 1) Damon x Plus Size Fem! Reader, Part 1. This fic is a birthday gift for @armyangxls 💗

Y/n had always felt nervous around boys and girls her age. She wanted nothing more than to fit in at Mystic Falls high-school. There was just one problem. Y/n hated to admit it, but it was really hard for her to feel confident when next to her best friend Caroline (who was incredibly popular and always seemed to get the attention of her peers). It was so much easier to sit on the sidelines during cheer practice and focus on her homework or writing her own stories, than starting conversations with other students. It’s not that Y/n wasn’t pretty or smart. She was beautiful both inside and out, and brimming with inspiring ideas. One autumn day, Y/n found herself sitting under a maple tree as Caroline practiced her cheer routine with the other cheerleaders. She sketched in the margins of the essay she was writing a rough draft about.

“What’ve you got there?” a charming voice came from behind Y/n. Y/n leapt up in surprise, dropping her pencil and whirling around. There, standing in front of her was the most handsome man. His hair was dark and swept nicely over his temples, and his eyes were electric blue and seemed to pierce Y/n’s soul with an intent stare.

“I-I’m uh… just drawing…” Y/n said, trying her best not to blush. “You really shouldn’t sneak up on people like th-that.”

“Old habits die hard…” the man said shrugging his shoulders half-heartedly and taking a seat next to her on the bench. “I’m Damon, by the way.” He smirked.

“I’m Y/n,” she said, relaxing a bit. Something in Damon’s aura of confidence made her feel a bit better about talking. “I probably should be writing this paper on the history of Mystic Falls, but to be honest most of the information I got off the internet is just plain boring. I swear, Alaric Saltzman gives us the most tedious assignments.”

Damon leaned in a bit, squinting to see the opening paragraph you’d scribbled on the sheet of paper. “Looks… good, at least, if you’re set on putting your teacher to sleep.” He laughed.

“What choice do I have? It’s not like much happened in this part of Virginia in the mid 1800s.” Y/n sighed, annoyed at Damon’s criticism. “Are you even a student here?”

“No, but my idiot brother is.” Damon gestured vaguely in the direction of Stefan Salvatore, who was standing at the other edge of the field talking to Elena (who was also in your class).

“Ohhhh so you’re a Salvatore.” Y/n said, nodding as if that explained everything.

Damon stared off at the football field, as if contemplating whether or not to say something. Finally, he spoke. “I think I can help you with your assignment. I actually did a similar history paper when I was in high-school. There’s more to Mystic Falls then you’d think.”

“Why do you want to help me?” Y/n said, a bit skeptical.

“Because…” Damon said, leaning in mischievously. “You’re pretty, and honestly? I’m bored.”

“Oh… ok.” Y/n felt her heart skip a beat. “I mean, that’s not a terrible answer, even if it is a bit forward of you…” She considered. “Fine. Meet me at Mystic Grill at seven, ok?”

“Sounds like a plan,” Damon replied.

Y/n looked down at her paper and when she looked up, Damon was gone. ‘That’s weird…’ she thought, a bit uneasy. Y/n groaned, realizing she’d have to make up an excuse for her absence to tell her mom. ‘Well, hopefully I can think of something believable.’

I watched seven seasons of vampire diaries well half of season 7 .. close enough.

. Caroline /Katherine Pierce were my fav girls. . caroline had a major glow up/ plus her hating DAMON is valid and its so shitty she had to apolgize for tlaking shit about him in s4 cause elena was sirebonded and it made her upset.. s1 elena would never..

Katherine was just fun.. and intriquing your left wondering does she care about anyoen but herself? i think she did like stefan.. and him giving her a happy dying dream was very sweet no wonder she want stefan.. He's a nice guy at his core.

Stefan/Tyler were my fav boys. I really liked Stefan when he embraced vampirism too he was fun.. and from what i saw of paul thats actually closer to pauls snarky personality ..

i think they were actually close to Girl can fix boy but done better than delena for the 3 seasons.. i think elena brought out the best in stefan while damon brought out the worse in elena.. plus what the heck was the sire bond about? thats not epic love that just weird. .

delena maybe could work if he hadn't kill her brother.. but .. sometimes.. i got sib vibes from them. whenhe wasn't beeing creepy anyway.. but he also never really respected her choices or her boundaries .

i felt the writers kept him grom growing too..

as much as i detested damon he got so many good JOKES.. I met a squirel he asked me my name today i told him it was joe that lie will haunt me forever. ..

adored him with Bonnie Ian/Kat chemistry was amazing its acutally interesting knowing he dated nina they broke up and boy did it show in the show cause the chemistry died down after that break up ..

least fav was ENZO im glad STEFAN killed him but im annoyed he was dating Bonnie cause when did he even talk to bonnie? plus he was just so annoying with how he kept trying to ruin stefans life ..

bonnie had the best chemistry with damon and the Heretics i was rather bummed they killed off the lesbian herietics. .. julie/caroline plec suck so those ships could never happened.. cause bonnie/one of the lesbian girls i forget her name but i rem thinking i dig this chemistry with them..

.. what interview with vampire got right was how to write toxic romantic relationships vd got it so wrong. it also helps louie was 33 a full ass adult man so its not creepy vamps flirting with teenagers.. i learned the guy playing matt was shitty to kat so thats a bummer cause i did enjoy matt/caroline for what it was.. and the alaric guy i heard him talk in intervies and he gives me the creeps.. but how he mentions the idea of dating bonnie.. i wonder if he pitched alaric dating caroline. either way whoever came up with that ship is a FREAK.. cause.. That's HER TEACHER/ Elenas sorta Father figure 40 year old 17 year old .. no thank you.

Random Ass Vampire Diaries Opinions/Ideas

Just because I can. I didn’t mean for this account to be so focused on vampires lmao. This is mainly about characters I have strong opinions on so I might not have as much to say about certain characters. I also haven’t seen every episode nor do I remember every episode I have seen so call me dumb if one of these takes or ideas is dumb

Elena Gilbert

Is it just me or was one of Elena’s most consistent character traits making people forget about trauma when she could easily just make it hurt less. Like she does it with Jeremy in season one and herself in season six. Vampires in this universe have been shown to be able to compel people to have heart attacks so it’s safe to say that they can make extreme emotional trauma just not hurt as bad

Piggybacking off of that a little, Elena should’ve been the one to stake Vicki in season one. It would’ve given her a reason to have Damon compel Jeremy to forget the whole thing and it would’ve added a whole new layer to her relationship with Matt

Elena should’ve been allowed to be a main villain when she turned her humanity off. I’m thinking she should’ve teamed up with Silas because in theory he could bring Jeremy back

Elena consistently defending/staying with Damon even as he continues to do horrible shit right under nose is very odd. Like at some point girl just stand up(I’m not anti-Elena, Damon or even Delena, it’s just weird that this girl with a strong moral compass wouldn’t just leave Damon)

Bonnie Bennett

Mistreated as shit

There were plenty of moments where she should’ve been able to get stronger on camera(this is just this bizarre idea that I have of Bonnie escaping the prison world by absorbing it like Kai absorbed the anti-magic spell)

They should’ve just let her and Damon at least hook up once if they weren’t going to date

Caroline Forbes

Were they trying to set up a possible Caroline/Alaric thing in season seven? Because that’s what it felt like and it was weird

Stefan Salvatore

Kind of a douche at times but otherwise I liked him

I swear to god, in the later seasons they just kind of forgot that Stefan was a ripper

Damon Salvatore

It was weird watching him constantly flip flop between edgy, murderous bad boy and Elena’s soft boy. Either his progression into a love interest should’ve been slower or, since he was a very evil guy for decades, just have a bunch of shit he did back then gradually come to light

Matt Donovan

I fully believe that the last time the writers had any clue what to do with Matt was the whole Mabekah plot line. I also think that Matt should’ve left with Rebekah

Matt’s whole “I hate vampires” thing didn’t make sense because he spent a whole summer between seasons traveling around the world doinkin’ Rebekah so it just comes out of complete left field

I think Vicki’s death should’ve affected him way more blatantly(again I haven’t seen every episode so I might be wrong).

Jeremy Gilbert

The whole Brotherhood of the Five thing could’ve worked if they did anything to establish the brotherhood as any different from regular hunters besides the magical tattoos. Like I know that Jeremy got super strong but outside of him lifting those kegs it doesn’t really come up. Especially since the other hunters relied so much on traps

Could’ve been a really interesting addition to the story if he were used properly. Me personally, I see Jeremy being used to showcase that Elena is willing to go to darker places if needed to protect the people she cares about

Other Random Thoughts

Season five was way too overcrowded with plots, it didn’t need three main villains. Get rid of Wes Maxfield and make Silas the main villain. The Travellers should’ve just been his cult of blood witches or something

Lilian Salvatore should’ve been the main antagonist of Season seven

A vampire turning their humanity off should’ve kept vestiges of the character’s personality.

I don’t think Vicki should’ve been a drug addict or if she was, it shouldn’t have been the reason she was such a volatile vampire. It should’ve been that being a vampire is hard and Vicki just couldn’t handle it

This isn’t everything that I have to say, but it’s something. I also want to clarify that I do in fact enjoy the Vampire Diaries, my brain just can’t help but nitpick things and think about how they could’ve been done differently. Let me know what y’all think or if I need to elaborate on some of this

I'm curious to find out how Daniel is going to react to hearing about what happened to Claudia in Paris.

Because in season 1, he went back and forth between "for a killing machine, I kind of like her" to probing into her sexual assault to calling bullshit that Claudia "couldn't" have killed Lestat to calling Louis out for him and Lestat "curs(ing) her into the darkness, you chose Lestat over her time and time again". So he's got a certain view of her that she's a monster (yeah welcome to the world of Anne Rice vampires, they're ALL monsters) but also has some sympathy for her by the end of episode seven.

One part that really caught my attention was his reaction reading her diary entry the night Charlie died. He seemed very reflective until Louis made his presence known, then it was right back to snark.

So, my guess is by the time Daniel (and by extension, the audience) learns about what happened, he might go for round two in tearing Louis and Armand to shreds. Whether it's yelling or glorious Eric Bogosian deadpan sarcasm, it could go either way. Or maybe he might go "yeah well she deserved it" (I highly doubt that, but you never know.. i mean if he did, Louis would do a lot more than make his hand shake...)

My point is - I find Daniel's reactions to Claudia fascinating. And I reckon it's going to be even more so next season.
