The following contains spoilers for beast yeast ep8, do not read if you have yet to finish the chapter

dont read this if u havent finished it yet!!! OK SO im starting with what i liked and then i'll get to the things that i have a bit of issues with

I genuinly enjoyed the chapter a lot!!! the dynamic between black sapphire and candy apple is very interesting and silly (the siblings fr), and the situation between PV and SM its very interesting, complex and fun to anilyse.

I LOVED seeing sm being desperate and in complete denial of his situation, that he is lonely, i really wanted to see him in such a vulnerable state and i got what i wanted and it was wonderful

The way SM noticed fast how the soul jam was full on connected to its owner was, as well, something very interesting to me. Me personally it came off as a mad scientists toying around with his lab rat, trying to see how much he could push him, its complex and it can be interpreted in different ways

Finally getting the full blown confirmation SM did not stalk PV as a kid was also refreshing. It had been alwasy clear to me it was all just a lie and sm toying with pv's mind completly, but a lot of you, AND I MEAN A LOT OF YOU, lack basic reading comprehension and knowing how to read a room

i liked that we didnt get to actually see past SM, its an interesting choice since we sort of saw the ones of the previous ones (mystic talked about her past and has statues and we saw burning spice the moment he broke)

Also the whole update feels like SM is having a lot of personal beef with the world, specially the witches. They were brought up like, twice and he always mentions it with so much loathing. I cant wait to see whats to come and to see their past

bUT this points being said

First off, i am kinda disssapointed PV isnt more angry towards SM, it would of been interesting to see the two fight and THEN Pv tries to offer him a helping hand, an opportunity to fix his issues, im at least glad sm didnt instantly get redeemed tho and part of me hopes he doesnt

The ending felt a bit rushed, but this seems to just be a recurring issue in beast yeast apparently :/, like, its not BAD bad, but it leaves you with a small feeling of ''that's it?''' and a small slap to the face, the pacing was good until a bit near the end

Speaking of the ending i was surprised we didnt get any extra scenes like we usually get. I really would have wanted to see the group arriving back at the kingdom, or pv thinking about what he saw in sm's memories, HELL IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN INTERESTING CHANGE TO SEE SHADOW MILK'S THOUGHT AFTER IT ALL

Im also increidbly dissapointed fandom wise. The amount of posts i've seen of people not tagging things properly or tagging and then reblogging something that isnt tagged is dissapointing and kinda pissing me off a lot

now, im putting this near the end bcs its a PERSONAL NIT PICK

i am not against shadowvanilla, never was, never will. The artists are extremly creative and often create very beautiful pieces of art and i admire them a lot for this, along side the fact I GET WHY THEY LIKE IT, WHY ITS POPULAR, IS A FUN, INTERESTING SHP DYNAMIC THAT EVEN I HAVE ENJOYED IN THE PAST. im stating this cause im worried what i will say will come off as me hating the ship

The update hadnt come across to me as shippy up until the very last few levels with Pv saying they were meant to be together, and how he paused for a moment before saying friends a bit (altough this can also be interpreted as him heasitating to offer this as well)

i honestly like a lot the interpretation of them being teacher and student, i like shadow milk being pv's mentor and that's how the update had felt TO ME, if you know me i have an au were pv is sm's adopted son in an universe were he didnt corrupt completly and gave up his duties as an ancient hero, this being said

I dont like how the fandom instantly is taking the word submisive as something sexual, i dispise how sexualised the word has become and how it cannot be used in other ways often, and i wish some of the wording could be taken as something more than potential ''love obessision''

i kinda wish we could explore dynamics like this without needing it to be shipping, to me it didnt feel like there was necesarrly any romantic feelings of any sort, obbsesive? absolutly, but to me this is all SM trying to push pv to become like him bcs he is LONELY, at that point you dont care if its romantic or platonic, you just want SOMEONE so you arent alone

something something, this is something i wish it was in general, this isnt just about this ship in specific but many others in many different fandoms

seeing so much shipping has honestly made me struggle a bit sometimes to understand the differences between platonic and romantic DX but that's something me and myself alone has to work on on my own, no one is responsible and im just ranting at this point about personal nit picks

perhaps im just being in denial rn about it and being addmitedly kind of a pissy baby, im still processing the update after all.

again i dont have anything against shadowvanilla shippers, at least i dont think i do and i hope it does not come across compleltly as such

maybe some of my thoughts might change with time, maybe they wont and i'll just stay stubborn who knows

that being said this is the one and only time i will bring this up regarding shipping as i do not want to stir the pot till it boils and be dumb about HEADCANONS

TLDR: some nitpicks about headcanons but in general i think the update was really good in general, love the new sprites. 8.5/10 (kinda want to make it a 9 but im on the fence about that jksdbgfk)

I'm more excited to find out more about the past avatars than to get new avatars, honestly, but that might just be me.

Right brace is a regular one and the left is modified to be a communication device for all specialists as well as a way to connect to any RFS gadgets, vehicles, machines etc.

The cape/glider in canon is inspired by research done on fairy combat, the wings serve as a glider when specialists are airborne. They function by metallic fluid that look like veins and those veins move the material, they have censors that will trigger to turn on if specialist is unable to use their screen to activate it manually. Before they can use this cape they have to be trained on how to glide and mimic fairies. also do not ask me about the specifics of how this tech works because i am not smart askakskakkaskaskkaskas I'm thinking about that fluid that moves with magnetism or just insert vague it's advanced technology from an entirely different realm

Privately owned but often works with government programs hence the reason why students would be in contact with criminals and also catching them

only a small percent of graduates become specialists as others use their degrees to get jobs in magix because there's more variety in the courses offered.

RF is considered neutral ground for fairies and witches

Rival to Paladins (Arcane focused school) but like in a friendly way

Principal can be considered like a multimillionaire at this point since he's owns a school that can produce military vehicles and students that create those designs while still studying. I think he's raking in government cash and also opens avenue to shady shit i can explore :3

Yk Back At The Random Ghost Rebel Stuff

A straight up ramble but does anyone feels this retching feeling in their hearts whenever they think about the High Cloud Quintet and its lore and go like "Dang, if only we COULD change what had happened bc this crap is dark and sad as hell" because that's what I feel like right now

And lemme tell you: It's not a good feeling bc I don't even want to think about how they're all just old and tired grannies and grandpas. The only person that has proper solace in the High Cloud Quintet is flipping Baiheng bro—poor Yingxing got turned into Blade bc yk—he's the beloved of that one relic set story.

Dan Flipping Feng becomes Dan Heng and even as Dan Heng he doesn't get a single drop of solace bc now the former-artisan-now-maniac dude is chasing him all across the universe bc of the sins of the past and it's just so heartbreaking bc Dan Heng isn't Dan Feng and Blade is only the shadow of Yingxing (this concept with Yingxing and Blade heavily reminds me of Makoto and Ei—Ei was the shadow of Makato and the shadow of the light is all that remains ykyk)

And then there's Jingliu who just straight up asks her student to kill her if she ever becomes mara-struck and in the end she still lives somehow and then she decides to go full-traumatizer with Blade back when he was the Unnamed that wandered the place—as if he needed MORE trauma and honestly her weak grasp over the mara which in turn makes her insane is so upsetting bc in the end she ends up having beef with a 14 year-old lieutenant who's trying to do his job and protect the Luofu (though, I have to admit it: as much as I want to protect my child Yanqing, his methods were kind of flawed—) even if he doesn't know who Jingliu is.

And ofc we got the last man standing Jing Yuan who just sees ghosts in everyone around him. Istg I feel like bc he sees ghosts, he can't move on from the past, and when he can't move on from the past, it's honestly a red flag bc it might mean that his present relationships with everyone are (sometimes) only just one-sided or something. Like, take the relationship between Yanqing and he: Yanqing trusts the General with his life bc he raised him as a baby. But the fact that he calls Jing Yuan "General" and not some sort of parental title says that Jing Yuan is being unnecessarily secretive due to his fear of vulnerability. I mean—literally in 1.2 Story Quest, Jing Yuan quite literally just left Yanqing on the island alone after he got beat up by two men that have beef with one another, practically leaving him in the dark with no explanation. And even before that, Yanqing was still left in the dark. Jing Yuan doesn't open up easily bc of the crap he's been through, which is understandable, but his lack of explanation backing up his highly meticulous moves—that's not really healthy. In the end, it just leaves a gap of mistrust, be it intentional or not, between Jing Yuan and Yanqing. In some cases, and this one (imo atleast) is one of them, if you don't explain your actions, it pretty much just leaves the person that's been left in the dark with their waves of emotions, which might cost said-relationship between the two people in the long run.

It also seems like (based off what we know of, at least) at least half of Jing Yuan's choices are also connected to sentimental reasons and seeing ghosts in people. I think he sees a ghost in Yanqing (idk who tho—ppl say it's Yingxing bc of his obsession over the sword), he sees one in Yukong (definitely Baiheng), he sees one in Dan Heng (obvious reasons, very evident throughout the game) and possible Bailu (because she's technically being hailed as the next Imbibitor Lunae after Dan Feng's sin), and it could possibly go on. This old grandpa really is comparing the present with his past and that's honestly a little heartbreaking, bc there is a chance that that might mean that Jing Yuan found more happiness (serotonin work hardcore fr) in his past than he does in his present. He should at least be happy enough of the present to not be this sentimental of the past, but he's really suffering of the incidents like bro—

The High Cloud Quintet is like The Five Yakshas from Genshin Impact but with more lore (that we know of) and more angst twists (that we know of) to it fr. It's so heartbreaking and angsty, I both love it, hate it, and cry about it.

Like bro, look at these two groups. It's always a group of five sobbing.

Okay so lowkey i finished this chapter like a week and a half ago but forgot to make a luh review so😭😭 oopsies

I know it's probably just to easily cut between scenes but Max keeps lowkey dissociating after sum freaky shit happens. First chapter after her and Safi almost died, and then now after she universe-hops (?) #trauma_response

Hello this is a random thought but first off. Thank you for headcanoning the moms (like Daniil's or the twins') because God Knows there's enough dead/nonexistent moms in this story. But then I'm always curious (because my own hcs are not firmly settled there) if Daniil's mom is alive during his adulthood (as she appears in some of your art).. what does she think of her son's career choices. Does she complain that he should get a more respectable job than disgraced mad scientist? Is she supportive in principle but upset because he gets into trouble and she's worried? Is she enthusiastically supportive? Did she attend his lectures and embarrass him by loudly being like "that's my son there he's brilliant and you all should fund his research ☺️"? Did she brag about her son reanimating a dead person to her friends at a tea party? What's the vibe there

IT'S NOT MUCH BUT IT'S HONEST WORK... and ok ok so my belief is that she. doesn't know What he does. like the details of his work. i think from university on they don't see each other very much, and dankovsky tries to Not involve her too much, for multiple reasons of 1) she's of fragile health so he doesn't want to scare/disgust her into illness 2) involving her could put the Powers That Be*'s eyes on her, and possibly put her in danger if anyone tries to like. arrest him for medical malpractice or whatnot. he tells her very little but she's very proud of the little he tells her. he tells her he's into longevity research (which, technically... not wrong), which she is very proud of. i think she got a copy of his university thesis, but she didn't read through it, because it was a bit complicated for her: however she's so happy he did it, and holds it dear. she doesn't know about his money problems, his frankensteinesque behaviors... and that's on purpose by him so she cannot be bothered by people who would be after him. there is also the fact that To Me she is a religious woman [i often talk about dankovsky having been raised eastern orthodox In My Mind's Eye and she's part of it], so he doesn't know if she'd like his death-defying stunts too much, as it is... quite heretical honestly. he's not a believer, he's an atheist theomachist, like Doesn't Believe In God, But If There's One, We Got Beef [which informs the Way He Is about death and dying], but he loves and respects his mom, and does not want to like. scare or disgust her. [when she learns, later, it's a whole Ambiguous thing. on one hand, going against god's design is sinful and heretical. on the other, orthodoxy from what i know explores the part of divinity/godliness in man = man should behave like god, because man wears the face of god/was made in god's image (source: greek orthodox friend, which is Diffrent from russian eastern orthodoxy, but like, also i'm making my research lol) so it's like. he's a lil bit like him fr... no i shan't say that it's heretical... well... a lil bit... no... tldr: she's alive and well; she don't know about the whole resuscitation bits because 1) dankovksy Gets In Trouble and doesn't' want her to get in trouble if he tells her 2) he's preddy distant 3) she's a christian woman so the whole playing god bit would irk her a bit and even if dankovsky is fully confortable being an affront to god and wishes everyone had the rationality of science and humanism he can't deny he loves his momma and doesn't want to hurt her like that even if she's pious. she's Supportive in the way any good mother should be, but she has no idea What she's supporting him in doing, and he prefers it that way.

WE TALKED SO MUCH ABOUT THE RIN AND SAE LOVE TRIANGLE REQUEST THAT IT ALMOST MANIFESTED INTO REALITY 😭 but actually i was always going to have ego be there!! he’s meant to be a retired jockey and trainer who helps reader with her pegasus because it’s a super weak foal that she has to raise and train herself so ego’s retired ahh decides to help her because he has nothing better to do and he wants her to race against kaiser and beat him (because kaiser is training with noel noa who is ofc ego’s opp) anri was a last minute addition though originally she was just the generic “best friend” character like in fwtkac where she’s never named but then i was annoyed by having to dance around not giving her a name so then i was like hmm tullia feature perhaps?? but THEN i was like nah because including tullia in just a one shot is like asking to be shot or smth 😓 in series people have time to adjust to liking her so it’s not as bad but in a one shot it would just cause unnecessary drama so i just went with the only female character in all of blue lock and made it anri!!

i will always be a safe place for side character and rare dynamic enjoyers 🙏🏻 it’s like i always say…if you like side characters that means you probably have read the media closely enough to actually know who they are and understand them enough to like them?? and if you can pull off a rare pair or dynamic well that means you understand the characters to the point that it feels convincing which is why i think having rare pairs or liking really random characters is like a green flag to me that a person isn’t going to have weird fandom opinions (not 100% accurate though sadly but def a good indicator)

unfortunately the aot fandom is like genuinely insane so they eat well but they don’t DESERVE IT 😭 aot as a show is very complicated for me because on the one hand i think there’s a lot that was done really well and i think the first three seasons (and even a bit into the fourth) were AMAZING but the fourth was. not utter TRASH but i think it could’ve been done better and conveyed the messages i believe the author was trying to convey in a clearer way 🤔 so i would neither glaze nor hate on the show!! but people either like to absolutely dog on it or they’re like twelve years old and the themes of the show went over their head entirely so they just say bs and it’s like “okay you need to attend a few more english classes before you’re qualified to have an opinion on this” yk?? so that means there’s a lot of crazy takes in both directions floating around abt the show hence why i don’t really post write or even think about it that much anymore

the itoshis are the FACE of blue lock i fear HAHAHA i think nagi was the most popular back when the first season first came out (so many mutuals i know that started the show for nagi but moved on whereas i did the opposite because i got into bllk so much later) but especially because he hasn’t been in the manga much and has been in a downfall arc he hasn’t been getting as much attention 😩 and the people who DO like him are mostly anime-only so they typically make the more basic edits 💔 in terms of canon it’s GREAT being a nagi fan because he always comes back (plus he has epinagi) but in terms of the fandom it’s truly rough 😰

karasu and r&t yukimiya having legitimate beef would actually be really cool lowkey…karasu naturally being who yukimiya is pretending to be which drives yukimiya insane because wdym he’s just…like that?? like he’s perfectly calm (jeirin pointed out the other day that we haven’t even seen karasu cursing ONCE which i haven’t checked myself but i trust her and lowkey given how the blue lock players talk to each other on the daily that’s CRAZY maybe that’s why he was voted number two gentleman 😭) has plans for the future even outside of soccer and is charismatic enough that he makes friends and people listen to him super easily ☝🏻 MEANWHILE KARASU DESPISES YUKIMIYA because see he doesn’t know that it’s all an act yk?? so he thinks there’s just this insanely perfectly perfect dude just chilling in bllk who’s handsome and likable plus just the general beef that karasu always ends up having with yukimiya in the miraverse somehow…but neither of them ever says anything about it because they’re both too mature to actually act on their beef but like they def don’t fw each other

KARASU SCHOOLING REO HAD ME CACKLING the way reo was so flabbergasted too had me cracking up the only way it could’ve been better is if aiku somehow spawned in because that entire situation is the most (miraverse) aiku scenario ever HAHAHA but yeah otoya raichi and zantetsu in the suits as professor karasu’s enforces were so silly i can’t…god bless bachira’s weird ass imagination for that one maybe i should stop forgetting he exists

yeah my friends have told me that the new stuff/region for genshin lowkey sucks HAHAHAH so my expectations are not very high and TRUST i have heard horror stories about the genshin fandom like they along with the kpop stans are lowkey like the stereotypical horrible fans imo HAHA so def a little scared of that but i do think even if i do get into it heavily i probably won’t interact much with other people in the fandom just because of that…it’ll probably be more like how i was with jjk for example where people can find me if they want but i won’t seek them out or be mutuals with them unless i know them through another fandom or smth 😭 but YAYYY alhaitham lovers unite ngl most of the genshin characters look super young to me for some reason?? like that is not an adult man that is a girl scout i’m not abt to be down bad for that 😔 alhaitham actually looks grown up and his design is pretty so idt i’ll swerve and like another character but who knows i always say that and i’m always wrong so 😓

Today is one of those days where you tried to request a day off, which was denied by your boss. You wanted the day off to spend with Joel as he had arranged a day off work too. But your boss insisted that he needed you at work to complete an "urgent task."

Joel's phone alarm blares relentlessly, ripping through the morning's peace. Grumbling under his breath, he slaps the off button. The room is bathed in a soft, golden glow as he looks over at you, still fast asleep beside him. Cautiously, he brushes a strand of hair from your face, his touch gentle for a man with such a gruff exterior.

Joel gets up, careful not to wake you, and heads to the bathroom. The cold shower sends shivers down his spine, but it’s enough to wake him up, frustration boiling just beneath the surface. Your boss had refused to let you take the day off so you could spend it together, and it's gnawing at him.

Dressing in his usual jeans and a plain t-shirt, he can't shake off the frustration. He was so looking forward to spending the day with you. Why does some stuffy old man in a suit get to decide whether or not you get to spend the day with your husband?

As he descends the creaking stairs, Joel can't help but sigh. Despite all of his annoyance, he was going to make this the best damn work day as possible for you. He'd start by making you breakfast. The sizzle of the frying pan fills the kitchen, filling him with the smell of victory. I can do this. I can make today good.

As Joel daydreams about different methods of torture for your boss, you appear at the kitchen door, hair tousled, and a sleepy smile on your face. "Morning. You're up early. You should've slept in." You walk up behind him and give him a kiss on his back before taking your place at the dining table.

"Your boss is a real piece of work," he grumbles.

You smile sadly, clearly sharing his frustration, but you attempt to diffuse his irritation. "I'll talk to him, Joel. But we won't let this ruin our day, okay?" Finally, he gets a day off from his job, and all he wants to do is spend it with you, and he can't. Your heart aches.

Joel nods, his eyes softening just a fraction. "Yeah, yeah. I just think you deserve a break. You work so hard.”

You nod. “You know, despite my boss being a Grade A asshole, I really do like my job. And the money is good."

Joel nods silently in response. He can’t deny that. Ever since you got this job, you've both been living more comfortably than before. You got the kitchen renovated and managed to build him a shed to work on his woodwork projects. He loves it.

And God, he's so damn proud of you. You don’t know this, but he brags to all the guys at work about his girlfriend who works in a swanky new building in town and has her own office. "Where's your girl?" they ask when you miss out on a get-together they're having. "She's still working. Yeah, they're starting a new project, and she's leading it, so they need her there. Important stuff," he replies with a serious look on his face, but his heart swells with pride. My girlfriend is so fucking cool, he finds himself thinking often.

After the dishes are washed, and you've finished your coffee, you move to get the car keys. "Okay, I should get going. Thanks for breakfast, sweetheart. We're still having lunch together, right?”

Joel gets up with you and snatches the car keys from your hands. “I’ll drive. And yes, we are having lunch together.”

“Joel, go rest. I can drive–”

Already at the doorway by this point, Joel keeps walking towards the car and yells back at you, “Clock’s ticking, slowpoke. Don’t wanna be late. Get your ass in the car now.”

You shake your head, racing towards the car with your grumpy husband already in the driver’s seat, honking the horn like a lunatic and probably waking the whole neighborhood up.

Joel’s jaw is set with determination as he drives. He wants to spend every minute of his off day with you because that was the whole reason he took the day off in the first place. If that means driving through rush hour traffic to get you to work, so be it.

"You didn't have to do this, you know," you mumbled.

Joel gave a curt nod. "Damn right. That’s what makes me such a good husband.”

You smile and nod in agreement. As the car pulls up to a stop in front of the building, Joel turns to you.

“I'll pick you up later for lunch. Remember. We. Are. Having. Lunch. Together.” He enunciates each word loudly and clearly.

“I know, Joel.” You smile. Even through his grumpy old man antics, you can’t help but find him adorable.

“And that means, you say no if Mr Weasel–”

“Wessell.”

“Weasel asks you to go out for lunch with him and the team. Got it?”

“Yes, sir.”

“And if he insists that you go along, you give him my number and tell him to talk to me. Yes?”

“No.”

“Baby–”

You cut him off with a kiss on the lips. “I’ll be there. I love you. See you later.”

After you finish your lunch, you and Joel are walking back to the car, fingers laced together. You round a corner, and suddenly, you both catch a glimpse of Mr. Wessell exiting the restaurant opposite the street. The man was in the middle of a heated phone call, his face reddening as he yelled into the phone.

You're quick to intervene. You cup your hand over Joel’s mouth and whisper, "Shut up, he might hear you.”

With a hand cupped over his mouth, Joel didn’t look very menacing, but he made sure to shoot a glare at the man who was still distractedly yelling into his phone.

You tug on Joel's arm, trying to pull him away. "Come on, let's go, little bulldog. Down boy."
