It does not, as a patch of golden flowers softens their fall. I mean realistically they would've died but that is not a realistic game lol

The main character is a child with shoulder-length brown hair, blue and purple striped sweater and brown pants and boots. Their eyes are perpetually closed and the expression is neutral. They are also referred to as a they, not a he or a she so I will do so too.

They awaken on the flowers and walk down the corridor where they meet their first monster: a talking flower. The flower seems to be friendly and introduces itself as "Flowey the flower". He (Flowey) teaches us about souls, the "culmination of your being". The protagonist's soul looks like a red heart. In battle, the player controls it, moving it around the screen to dodge various attacks. But Flowey invites us to catch some "friendliness pellets" to heighten the main character's LV, "Love" as he states.

Seems innocuous, right?

Except for when the child catches the pellets, Flowey's expression turns into a cruel smile as their hp, health, depletes rapidly. Flowey states that the main character is an IDIOT and that in this world it's KILL OR BE KILLED!

..and then he gets thrown off-screen by a fireball.

Oh also if you avoid his attacks he gets increasingly more and more agitated until he surrounds the soul with them, deciding to stop wasting his time on pretending.

im removing the mayoi (frogs in caves) bc i dont like how satori and its aesthetic was turned from something mysterious and otherwordly to yet another collectable-

so im turnign the frog idea into a single thing living in the underground as a counterpart to satori itself- perhaps it resides in a giant tree growing from the ceiling bc i ASLO didnt like how there was that at first cool looking underground tree with all the rumis (rabbit things) but then it was quite literally nothing (again)

this idea is pretty new so i am still working on the details, im all ears for suggestions :P

So. Undertale. Undertale is a game that came out in 2015 (I think). I think I'll just quote the beginning.

[The music from undertale's intro starts playing inexplicably.]

Long ago, two races ruled over the earth: Humans and Monsters.

One day, war broke out between the two races.

After a long battle, the humans were victorious.

They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell.

Many years later...

Mountain Ebott, 201X

Legends say that those who climb the mountain never return.

I'll be discussing more so the story than the mechanics, but I'll try to do both.

You play as a small child that climbs up the mountain Ebott, trips and falls into the mountain itself, into the underground. The visuals are pretty pixelated, which means that they're fairly similar to what you imagine the games looking like. Made out of small squares, not very realistic. 2d, flat. I reckon that was both on purpose, to let the players imagine the missing details and for the lack of resources. This game was made by one person, with occasional help from his friends, so the abilities were limited.

I'm gonna separate everything into chunks in case you want to just think about stuff, process it, again, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Soo.. chunk 1 out of many probably.

I do not trust Leander w the information about the MC’s hands like at all!! like, I just figured that the information about the hands was payment for the room because knowledge is currency and whatever but… other than that… what is he going to do w that information. Because if you do Vere’s little route, he says that word about your hands can easily get you locked up or killed like him. And Leander is the only one who knows what you’re capable of.. and has shown his manipulative side (multiple times),, so what is keeping him from using the hands thing as a “gotcha” for the mc to keep them from ruining his reputation (bc you know damn well you’re gonna see something unsavory w him bc there’s no way he’s not doing some fuck ass shit on the low). like idk i think that telling Leander of all people this info will bite the mc in the ass somehow.
