A Klaus x Dave soulmate AU must be so strange.

Let's go with the soulmark one, for simplicity's sake. Dave, who was born without a mark and as the years go by, still doesn't have one. He thinks he is supposed to be alone, since he is attracted to man and that's something sinful in the eye's of society.

Klaus, who was born with a mark, but the mark is dark. Dead. His soulmate is already dead. What now? It's a sign for him to just go to any person who'll have him when he's an adult, since hey, he won't be able to find true love anyway, since they're dead, so it doesn't matter who he's with.

But oh wait. He sees ghosts. He sees dead people. And he is so so afraid of them when he is a child (continues to be so in his adult years thanks to their father). You want to tell him that his true love is a ghost?

Then Klaus travels to Vietnam. Dave gets a mark. And Klaus' isn't dead anymore it's so vibrant. Klaus is this mystery man who appeared out of thin air, just like Dave's mark just so suddenly appeared. (Why didn't it appear before? Is what Dave asks himself)

Klaus has he had to watch how his mark slowly turns back to black and remains that way. Forever

Awkward....Eudora/Diego, Lila/Diego

An apocalypse happens, Five takes another jump in time with his family and Lila. They end up back in the original timeline, a few days before April first but they know what not to do so that's not too much of a worry.

Except. This was before Diego's ex Eudora died.

Eudora checks in with Diego because last she heard he was looking for his brother and then didn't hear from in multiple days. Wait. Who is this lady he's with? His girlfriend? Since when? Why didn't Diego's tell her??? And why does this Lila look like she's about to murder her????

LMFAO, just thought of this and the stress Diego would have to go through. Oh would be quite sad too. But if I just ignore the emotional whiplash Diego would feel it'd be quite hilarious to see him stressing between two powerful women who are mad at him rn. Plus Lila looking at Eudora n being like, hm, well I'm better and I could probably murder her easily.

If Lila was a part of the Umbrella Academy she'd be Number 0. Because alone she has no power, which would make her the 'same' as Vanya/Viktor -since it's assumed they're numbered by perceived 'power' or 'usefulness'- but she's wildly versatile with others, so putting her out as this outliner, and setting up a Competition and Sibling Rivalry, makes sense.

Okay so this is very much a work in progress, I mostly just wanted to secure the blog name and setup while it was fresh in my mind.

Explanation below, SPOILERS FOR UMBRELLA ACADEMY SEASON 4 AHEAD!!!

When Reginald and Abigail talked about duragold and how it was "the opposite of marigold," it gave me an idea for an AU of a rival Academy made up of children that came from the duragold. Instead of heroes, they're villains. The name "Obsidian Academy" is a reference to the Hotel Obsidian from season 3, whether or not that's gonna be a relevant plot point or just an Easter egg remains to be seen including by me lmao

Hear me Out hear me Out! Umbrella Academy AU where Viktor dies instead of Ben.

I gotta be honest I don't think Viktor dying would be the end of the Umbrella Academy. Ben's death tore them apart but little Viktor dying? Oh no Reggie would turn that into a cautionary tale. Viktor dies on a mission. As usual, he's far away from the danger with Reginald but runs in when things start looking grim. He just wanted to help his siblings but it winds up getting him killed instead.

Instead of being normal about this, Reggie takes the opportunity to hammer in the fact that the Umbrellas are special because of their powers. Viktor was ordinary and died for it, but you, the Umbrellas? Are above all that. Reginald stirs up some sort of perceived myth of invincibility which honestly makes everything worse for them.

The Umbrellas stay together and sort of become like the Sparrow Academy, highly egotistical. (I think Ben is deeply unsettled by Viktor's death and tries to leave but ultimately it doesn't work.)

But there is a silver lining to this: Viktor's ghost hangs around Klaus. Klaus is like ???? and Viktor's like “you can see me?” and also YOUR POWERS ARE REAL?? aND Klaus is like YEAH! I’m high as heck and i can still see you why is that. But anyway, Klaus eventually leaves the academy for....reasons and Viktor and Klaus have like a buddy adventure that’s Viktor actually experiencing the real world, even as a ghost. He eventually comes out as Viktor and dances in clubs, and fake-talks to girls, and the two of them come to an understanding. I think Viktor also tries to keep Klaus from going off the rails, its a struggle. But they become really good friends and Viktor is so so much more alive as a ghost than they ever were in the Academy. They also find out about Reginald drugging Viktor but that's another story.

what if Vampire/Hunter AU but make it TUA

the Brellies were adopted by Reggie and trained to become vampire hunters because of their super powers

I think Five and Luther end up becoming vampires in this. Five disappears at a young age and gets bitten then, Luther was bitten wayyy later.

Despite Luther being a vampire, he still goes out to hunt other vampires to continue Reggie’s legacy

Klaus is somehow miraculously not bitten after all these years, in fact he’s probably pals with vampires

Diego definitely still beats up vampires but not necessarily hunt. He’s just vigilante-ing the vampires that hurt people but the ones that mind their own business, he just leaves them. This isn’t really an exception though as he also beats up hunters and general criminals.

Allison is bitten after she left the academy and is just trying to live a normal life (or as normal as a celebrity can be). Her plot more has to do with her losing custody to Claire because she’s endangering her kid by literally being a vampire (or something along those lines, her story isn’t super clear in my head atm)

Klaus is mostly the same with the exception for him being friends with a Lot of vampires and is trying to cover up for them, making sure his siblings (Luther and Diego) are not going after them

Five returns to the family after years of being missing when he is found by one of the siblings, deliriously wandering the streets, starving to death.

The commission in this is more like a legion of vampires trying to kill all the hunters and Five was a part of that (because he has super powers), before running away to find his family.

Ben was likely bitten and killed by Reggie. He still wanders the world, following Klaus though

Viktor’s story also remains mostly the same with the exception of Leonard being a vampire and his motivations becoming wanting to drink Viktor’s blood for his super powers or something along those lines.

The main plot will be less of world ending stuff and probably just the mystery of Reggie’s murder (I think he’d get murdered in this) and the umbrella fam trying their best not to instantly murder each other or get the people they care about murdered by one of their siblings. Then they gotta save Viktor as well because Leonard.

As for setting, I do want something more Gothic/Victorian. Might be set in some fictional city with other supernatural elements as well.

Powers: Energy Generation and Manipulation

Alex is like a living battery, with his cells constantly generating great amounts of pure energy. His powers are similar to those of Viktor Hargreeves, except that Alex's doesn't rely on sound, him being his own source of power. He's able to manipulate the energy he generates to achieve a large variety of effects including flight, telekinesis, creating force-fields, electrokinesis, cryokinesis, atmokinesis (which is where his superhero name comes from), etc. His powers are practically always working, so he must use them every now and then in order to release the built up energy inside of him, otherwise he might experience severe pain and his powers may become volatile.

Because of their strenght and them being most times linked to his emotions, Alex's powers can be very unstable and they've been since he was a kid, for this very reason his father made him take pills that would diminish his powers to make them more manageable, hiding Alex's true potential from him.

Personality:

He's known for being a smart guy, he can be intuitive, empathetic and even sweet but because of his job he normally shows himself as serious and strong, physically and mentally, in order to conceal some of the scars from his past growing up kinda like the back-up/secret weapon of the Institute for the most difficult missions. Because of his autism he can be pretty sensitive to certain stimuli, it also makes him focus more on details but he knows how to use them to get the bigger picture, which comes in handy in his job as a detective. He's more of an introvert with not many friends beyond his family, who he loves and cares for very much despite the many conflicts they might have.

Oooh I did say i had the urge to make an umbrella academy au for this group of losers. So here we are! The group has the powers while Sebastian is just a regular dude, he's just the older brother and helps this group by guiding them and giving them that parental advice they desperately need.

But let me talk you through their powers!

Ryan Seacrest, he has both umbrakinesis and photokinesis, he needs to find a balance with these powers or else he can drive the world into eternal darkness or eternal daylight.

Bo Cadieux, they have the ability to heal each and every wound on their body within seconds, they can also heal other peoples wounds. However this comes with the side affect that they literally take the wound from the person and get it inflicted on their own body instead.

Keira Jones, she has the ability to control the weather, it can be a bit tricky when her emotions are intertwined with it, she tries her best to stay calm so she doesn't accidentally cause a storm or a tornado to rip through the city. She's learning alot about herself with this ability, her autism isn't helping either.

Brooke Atkinson, her ability is basically a sonic scream alongside temporary flight, the result of this is the nickname Banshee. She doesn't necessarily like it, but she isn't gonna complain about it. She talks a bit more quiet because of it, she doesn't want to accidentally hurt someone or destroy a building with her voice.

Kai Williams, his power is Shape-shifting, he's not only able to shape shift into other people but also into animals. He's tricky to pin down when he's really trying to avoid being seen or discovered, but he doesn't tend to use his power as much, he likes himself just fine.

Elysia Sinclair, she has the ability to create portals to any place in the world she wants, this can be useful for travel but also to get away from situations she really doesn't want to be in at the moment. They do require her to concentrate, so in stressful situations it's tricky.

Sebastian Atkinson, he's the older brother of Brooke, an ex soldier who now spends his time as a bartender. He still takes care of the group and always has his door open for them should they need anything or just simply need to crash on the couch. He'll never turn them away.

I finally figured out how to make a crest for the Magnolia Academy in the same style as the Umbrella and Sparrow ones! Far from perfect but I’m pretty proud.

Here’s what each symbol means:

Magnolia Branch: The Academy name

Knot: Family loyalty

Apple: Generosity, happiness, peace and salvation

Bear: Healing, personal health, strength, and bravery. Also a nod to Grace’s “mama bear” attitude toward her kids

The motto, "florere quocumque tempore," means "bloom at any time"

Where a tabloid takes comments from the siblings and paint Vanya as a sociopath.

"I hate it. It's a disgusting book but not surprising. Vanya's always been vindictive like that. Instead of, I don't know. Focusing on how much of an abusive maniac Reginald was she decided to make a burn book of the other abused kids in his household and cry about how we were mean to her. How we ignored her. As if we didn't have our entire day and nights scheduled by Reginald. Did you know we had thirty minutes of free time a week? Thirty minutes. Sorry we didn't cater to you in that time Vanya. Whatever. I don't even want to give her anymore of my time of day. It'll just encourage her. Leave me alone."

"Are you going to pay me for answering these questions? If not then I have places to be, well mostly. Okay fine fine! Vanyas book? Hahaha yeah what a shit show, would love it because fuck dad yeah! He probably hates it. But hard to admire something written about how jealous someone is about your shit childhood and the abuse you went through. Like, wow, rude much? I'd give anything to not have gone through what we did. To not have this curse on me that makes my life a living nightmare and got the attention of a madman who bought me and then turned my childhood into drill sargents wet dream.

Oh Diego said that? Yeah yeah it was true. Little van can hold a grudge and will make you pay for it ten fold. We weren't really allowed around her you know? When we were little Dad said she was fragile, she was sensitive and we weren't allowed to upset her. And then, well, it became too much of a risk to be around little Vanny. Not with dad's hawkeyes on us waiting for us to mess up. If seven so much as frowned around one of us we'd get a lecture about how we aren't supposed to upset our sister. And God forbid we accidentally made her cry. Dad's cane really packs a hit. And I think seven realized that because if we did do something she didn't like, tears were a easy way to make us regret it. But that was when we were really young. Before she got sick. Then she was gone for a while and when she came back dad said she was better but not to bother her and truth be told, none of us really wanted too. The image of her dead stare as we got caned because of her never really went away. Dad did stop caning us if she was upset after she came back but we had other things to worry about then. This is really killing my vibe. Can you just pay me now?"

"Listen, I love my sister and if she felt she needed to write that book fine. She was abused too but in a different way, she was pushed away. I just wished she tried to understand our position too instead of making us her villains in her life and book. We were all abused by dad, now enough- how do you know about that. Klaus? Of course. Vanya was sick as a kid okay? She was maybe a bit cruel but dad got her meds. She's better now. It wasn't her fault dad caned us. Well. Maybe sometimes she did put on tears to get the boys in trouble and never seemed sorry about that. But as I said. She's better now. She has medication and gets therapy for things like that. Hopefully her therapist can help her sort through these feelings that made her write the book as well. Now leave us alone."

"Dad did what he thought was best for us. He told us Vanya couldn't handle it and I agree with him. She was safer away than with us. Sorry if that hurt number sevens feelings enough to write a book. Now get off our property."

"I told you I don't want to give any more time to Number seven. But I will say one thing. I hope that this stupid, selfish book she wrote isn't giving any of my other siblings trouble. But I know that's a lie because it's already effecting how people see me. They either look at me with pity or wonder how I could be mean to one of my siblings enough for them to write a book. Like I could've been nice at all in a house like Hargreeves. Kindness wasn't something you could afford in a house like that. It was a survival challenge. We survived, not all of us, Ben and Five weren't so lucky but I thought the rest of us all had a unspoken agreement to never speak of it again. To leave it in the past. We don't even speak to each other anymore. But leave it up to Number seven to pick out the thing that would hurt us most for her revenge."

"You're back again? Leave me alone. I've already had such a shit day and I keep hearing about this book. A book I bought with my own money just to get shit on and harassed for. I could've used that money for fun times, you know like the useless junkie I am as my dear sister put it. Instead I got a book with some of my most private moments from childhood used against me and people like you wanting to question me. Listen. I didn't mean to paint Vanya as some evil psycho child. I was just rambling. It was true what I said mind you but she got better okay. Well maybe not better because obviously she got issues with us and stuff. Maybe we should've checked on her but honestly we couldn't even check on ourselves never mind little quiet Vanya who's job was to observe us and report to dad. Ugh! I don't want to talk about any of this. I thought she said I was just a junkie on the streets, why listen to me?"

"Please just leave me and my family alone. I said I love my sister and she was sick. Not demented and cruel! You people are vultures. Do I talk to any of my siblings? No. Once we left the house we didn't keep in contact with each other. Easier that way to close that chapter in our lives. So just leave me alone."

"Do I need to call the police? I don't care about Vanya's book. She wrote it, a lot of it was either her victim complex or, or. Like Allison said, Vanya was sick, maybe she's still sick I don't know. She doesn't call. None of them do and the house number hasn't ever changed. If she wants to talk about her book she can call, if anyone wants to talk, they can call. But they haven't and they probably won't and I don't got anything to say either so get off the property before we have a problem."

This idea just wouldn't leave my head. The siblings remembering not Vanya's powers but her attitude when she had them and how they made her come off. They don't remember why Sir Reginald was so strict with keeping Vanya calm, he didn't want Vanya accidentally or not, killing off one of his to be team. They only remember the harsh punishments of upsetting Vanya and therefore risking themselves. Whether or not Vanya would've hurt them? I don't know know. But Reginald didn't want to chance it.

This also makes me curious about Vanyas reaction to these comments made of her by her own siblings. Dealing with the backlash this tabloid has caused her and her book. The questions people would ask. The now doubt in her writing if it was genuine or another opportunity to have a dig at her siblings? Does she have a victim complex? Narcissism maybe? The worst is when Vanya's therapist asks if she ever wanted to hurt her siblings for ignoring her?
