Finale day. Not sure why they're adding their night of thwarted delusional expectations on finale night to the list, but hey, whatever.

Dean's 42nd Birthday bash. Not sure on this one, but I'm guessing it was another OOC Twitter roleplay from the rest of this list.

The detestiel wedding. That time a couple of the actors bitter about not being in the finale (Ash & Ellen) started up a twitter roleplay about having a V-day bash at the Roadhouse and the hellers ran with it, pretending it was Dean and the angel getting married and this made their ship more canon somehow. Which got weird enough the actors tried to back out of the shit they started.

Cartwright twins. Near the end of Scoobynatural Dean mentions that it's been the coolest thing to ever happen to him, "including the Cartwright twins". This is the name of a minor Canadian baseball team, so because hellers are dumb and don't understand that'sthejoke.gif they insist he was legit admitting to sleeping with an entire baseball team. Someone in the team heard about it and bait tweeted them [X].

Grant McDonald night. Apparently the night some hellers discovered one of Jensen's old modeling photos had been used on the cover of an album of gay cowboy songs. Which has nothing to do with Dean, and Jensen's photos have been widely stolen for various ads, but they make a huge deal out of it because ... batshit.

Saileen wedding. Since they really enjoyed the first weirdass twitter roleplay and they desperately want to get Sam as far away from Dean as possible, they pretend to ship Sam and Eileen and threw another wedding roleplay.

J2 divorce. Obvious. And yeah, of course they found that entertaining. They're trolls who desperately want Jensen and Jared away from each other because surely, surely then Jensen would have to be besties with Misha instead and support their ship! Like...

Perfume genius Jackles vore. Perfume Genius is a perfume company that published intentionally bizarre fanfic to promote their product, including pieces about Jensen and Jared [X]. Not sure why this is on the list either.

November 2nd. Anniversary of Misha and Bobo's shameless queerbait making it to screen.

I missed it too at the time, probably because I refused to read all their tweets. I only found out recently when I saw people talking about it and it really adds an extra layer of flavour to the whole thing which was already ridiculous lol

OP you need to finish the story. imo what makes this all EXTREMELY on brand for SPN fandom was the day after when Chad and Samantha started gas lighting the fans on twitter about how there wasn't actually any wedding and certainly not a QUEER wedding between Dean and Cas of all people! Noooo, see, it was just a celebration and when people posted screen shots of them specifically tweeting about a wedding literally the day before, Chad said (paraphrasing. If anyone has screen shots, please post them. I don't have them and don't feel like looking for them) "Nooooo this was what you made yourselves think! We never actually SAID it was a wedding between specifically Dean and Cas!" Like, pretty much all but saying we imagined the whole thing in the most patronizing tone possible.

That's right: the #DeanCasWedding was fucking queerbait. We got queerbaited from beyond the grave.

Destiel, I cannot stress enough, Does Not Get That Closure

Because of the fact that, literally after they finished filming the episode where Cas literally dies BY experiencing A Moment of True Happiness™ by confessing his feelings to Dean—ON PURPOSE, to boot, he deliberately invoked his Deal-with-Superhell to stop another threat (RIP Billie 💐) that otherwise would’ve killed both him and Dean and thrown them both into the exact same Superhell!—

After they finished filming That Episode, the second-to-penultimate episode of the 15 Year Saga that was The CW’s Supernatural, a small thing that y’all might remember called the COVID-19 Pandemic happened and thereby fucked up the plans for the Series Finale and how many people could be on-set at once

BECAUSE OF ALL THAT, in The Last Episode Ever, after Dean dies in the most narratively stupid and unsatisfying way possible and winds up in Heaven, the ONLY confirmation we get that Cas is okay, not still in Angel/Demon Superhell being personally tormented instead of even getting to just Sleep for eternity like every other dead angel and demon because Said Superhell is a Petty Bitch that Hated Cas Specifically for Being Annoying, is:

“So Jack did all that*?” [*fix Heaven so that it’s no longer each individual soul isolated in its own Happy Memories-Gilded Cage]

“Well . . . Cas helped.”

AND THAT’S IT! CAS DOESN’T EVEN GET MENTIONED AGAIN FOR THE NEXT TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE CREDITS ROLL FOR THE LAST TIME!!!!!!!!!!

Once again I Cannot Stress Enough for Destiel just how frustrating the lack of Narrative Resolution or even Acknowledgment of Cas’ Confession At All to say nothing of the rest of The Finale as A Whole was that the entire fanbase on Tumblr and Twitter said “Abso-fucking-lutely Not” and then instead collectively hallucinated a Destiel Wedding Episode for Valentine’s Day 2021 (their anniversary still to this day being marked as a fandom holiday over here on Tumblr)

Ok, I’ve had some time to digest and think about this whole Ch*d/S*m fiasco and here is why I am PIIIIIIIISED:

Did Ch*d or S*m say anything about Destiel wedding happening? No. It was not something that was directly talked about by them ever.

HOWEVER, Ch*d’s responses about not knowing/understanding that people were taking it another way than he meant it are BULLSHIT. From the first post where he mentioned weddings, Hellers bombarded those comments asking about Destiel getting married on Valentines Day. We Hellers are MANY things, but SUBTLE is definitely not one of them. Both he and S*m saw how excited we were all getting. Now if they really just didn’t know what insanity they started, they would have just said, hey, just to be clear, no events are currently scheduled except the Valentines Day Party (I’m sure we still would’ve run with the wedding because we’re us, but our expectations would’ve been lower for Ch*d/S*m). What did they do instead? Talked about a rowdy pre V-day party where they implied Cas was there and somehow was stripped of his trench coat, again IMPLYING things, but not stating them as fact nor dispelling any of the MANY discussions of a Destiel bachelor’s party taking place in the comments.

But what REEEEALLY got my hackles up was when Ch*d started to post links to his jewelry and then his Cameo account for V-day posts. He SAW how much engagement the Hellers were giving him and how passionate and supportive we are of cast/crew/writers etc that come out as pro-Destiel and he made a conscious decision to capitalize on that. Was that shitty? Absolutely, but we’ve dealt with it for 12 years, so we’re used to it by now...still shitty, though.

And then to have the AUDACITY to come at the fans who are upset at this blatant Destiel-baiting with the “I’m sorry you misunderstood and are now upset” bullshit?!?!?!

I can’t even get into what S*m had to say about how validating Destiel would be disrespectful to the creators of the original source material (funny cuz I’m pretty sure the original source material included Cas actually having a “homosexual declaration of love”, but go off I guess). I just...I can’t.

THEIR LOVE WAS REAL. WE KNOW IT, THE WRITERS KNOW IT, THE ACTORS KNOW IT. THIS, THE MOST EPIC QUEER LOVE STORY OF ALL TIME, IS NOT AN OUTSIDE PERSPECTIVE NOR IS IT A FIGMENT OF OUR COLLECTIVE IMAGINATIONS. COPE.
