Perfect boy falls for the bad boy, yearns from afar for a very long time, then proceeds to die to save the other's life in a show of affection, dies thinking that he doesn't mean as much for the other, deeply traumatizes the other causing him to die so soon after the sacrifice that it makes you, as a viewer, wonder if the sacrifice was even worth it.
