People just really fundamentally do not believe in objective reality anymore regardless of political affiliation, huh? People have their political beliefs and then work backwards from there, deciding what is and isn't true based on what supports what they want to believe.

do yall ever think about bruce/batman!clone danny standing in front of his bathroom mirror after finding out he was a clone and silently tracing his face. The slope of his jaw and point of his chin. The high angle of his cheekbones and the shape of his eyes, the curve of his brow bones and the shape of his nose. The volume of his hair and the way it curls and gets fluffy when it gets too long.

His hair is black the same way a crow's wing is black. His dad's hair is black the same way a black bear's fur is black. His dad's eyes are blue like the ocean is blue. Danny's eyes are blue the same way a glacier is blue.

His dad has a square jaw and straight flat hair, and he tans and gets a face full of freckles when he's out in the sun for too long. Danny burns like a lobster and his face remains untouched. Danny has a sharp jaw and tall cheekbones, and Sam says when he's not smiling there's almost something regal about him. You would never call Jack Fenton "regal" when he's not smiling.

Sam says when he's not smiling he looks scary the same way a stone statue is. Jack Fenton when he's not smiling looks scary the same way that german shepherd staring at you across the street is.

Do you ever think he grew up wondering if he was adopted. Because of course, he has black hair and blue eyes like his dad. But having the same color doesn't make you someone's child.

Or, worse, things he's heard from the other kids and the other parents and even some of his teachers growing up; that he was the product of an affair. And that his dad was just too stupid to notice. And Danny would defend his parents until the day he died, because Jack Fenton wasn't an idiot and Maddie Fenton wasn't a cheater.

But doubt comes in with fickle tongue. his parents swear up and down that he is their child when he asks about either. That Danny just had his grandparents' features, but he was their son and they loved him.

But Danny doesn't look like either of his parents. His mom's eyes are blue like an aquamarine and Jazz's too. And they burn like lobsters in the sun too, but Jazz gets freckles on her face and so does Maddie. And as Danny grows up he doesn't bulk up or get stocky like his dad did, and when he hits puberty he doesn't shoot up like a tree like Jack Fenton did.

He stays small, and they say he's a late bloomer (and he is), or that he just has his mom's height. But he's fast and has good stamina, and some days it feels like he's built entirely different from his family. That the things they went through growing up just didn't apply to him. Jack and Maddie Fenton both had acne and breakouts when they hit puberty, and Jazz inherits it and he's seen the amount of skincare products she keeps on her side of the bathroom.

And then he hits puberty and breaks out maybe once or twice, but his skin stays clear for the most part and the problems and changes his dad went through just don't happen to him.

And the truth is worse than all of the lies.

How horrifying.

Call me crazy but I just feel like if you’re hating on a ship where one character represents Deceit and the other represents Truth, and you’re trying to prove to the shippers that they’re wrong, and you do so by taking everything the Deceitful one says at face value and just completely dismissing everything the Truthful one says, then perhaps you need to reflect and realize that the one twisting canon to fit their vision IS YOU? Just a thought 😭

actually begging chats to realise that for the narrative, conflict and deceit are necessary in a story like this. it is no fun to tell the story if the truth is always told straight away

thinking about klavier gavin again because i saw someone say that the fact that he's the only prosecutor in the series who wants to find the truth and isn't insanely obsessed with winning like the other prosecutors makes him really boring

and i understand it to some extent when comparing him to other prosecutors but... Klavier Gavin??? BORING????

after playing aa4 i was OBSESSED with klavier gavin and the untouched potential of this guy

he loses his best friend/bandmate, his brother AND his mentor in the span of like a year?? i think??? which is INSANE.

there's something very tragic about klavier, a person who values finding the truth above all else, finding out that two of the people closest to him betrayed his trust and lied to him and used him for their own means AND ARE MURDERERS.

and then his mentor, a person who taught that seeking the truth is what a lawyer should do, gets murdered by a person who believes that winning in trials is the most important thing above all else WHICH IS THE SAME EXACT THING THAT KRISTOPH VALUED AS WELL !!!

this core belief of finding out the truth that klavier has, leads him to finding out about the things that daryan and kristoph did, and even though they are important to him, people he CARES about, he continues to work with apollo to see that justice is served.

and the fact that we don't get to see anything of klavier getting any closure after the events of aa4 makes me insane

we never get to see much of klavier's feelings on what happened or him fully processing the events of aa4 and that one case in aa5 and it makes me soooo upset. i wish he got more than that little cameo in aa5 and that one tiny flashback appearance in aa6.

in an alternate universe, aa4 got a true sequel that fully explored klavier's character, as well as phoenix's, klavier's, AND apollo's relationship with kristoph, and klavier's relationship with phoenix post-aa4, and also a more thought out? (for the lack of a better word) backstory for apollo, and an exploration of the jury system, and a game that ACTUALLY built upon the foundation that aa4 laid out.

and i am forever upset that we are not in that alternate universe.

These two r soooooo clingy w/ each other and there is little in the world you could do to change my mind. Albin saw Sol disappear and immediately went to check on him they love each other so much I’m gonna sink into the center of the earth. That’s his fucking frog pal and that’s his fucking boy wizard do NOT separate (unless the world is at stake lol) Anyways that latest episode was badass and all and I like to imagine that during that epic battle Albin is w/ Ma sick from mosquitoes looking like the wettest cat ever.

You know, I said "No Chip AU" in the summary because saying "AU where there are no brain chips" is awkward, "AU where the clones aren't brainwashed" is misleading, and "Everybody Chooses To Be Insanely Evil AU" is both misleading and makes it sound like we're dealing with everyone's evil doppleganger. I realize it makes it seem as if this is a fandom trope. So far as I know, it's not. I haven't read a Clone Wars 2008 fanfic set in the clone wars where the clones murdered the Jedi voluntarily. Who would do that. Teehee.

In a paragraph, in Episode II of the Prequel Trilogy every Jedi is drafted into a war and given millions of identical human men to fight the war, and in Episode III the identical human men were revealed to be A Sith Plot and sleeper assassins when they assassinated all the Jedi. The Clone Wars TV show spent a lot of time humanizing, characterizing, exploring, and hero-ing the clones, to the point where it felt really out of character for any of them to kill their best friends, so it did some retcons and said that they all had an evil brainwashing microchip in their heads that made them kill everybody. Star Wars.

I wrote another fanfic where the war ended early, the clones survived, and Obi-Wan had to struggle with how his best friends and found family betrayed him and murdered everyone he loved. It was fine, but I was basically unsatisfied with it. Because the characters basically had no culpability, and it felt unfair for Obi-Wan to blame them when they technically didn't do anything. He hated his father figure for trying to kill him, but there wasn't a satisfying emotional resolution - because he found out that it wasn't his fault, and he had to shrug and hug him at the end. It wasn't satisfying and didn't feel right.

So I made everyone evil. Because I wanted to actually deal with all of that. In writing you want to do the juiciest and richest possible thing, right!!! But yes it span off me being unsatisfied with some stuff, like all good fanfic. Thanks for asking :)
