Happy Wednesday, everyone! Thanks to @whatsintheboxmh, @heartstringsduet, @thisbuildinghasfeelings, @orchidscript, @three-drink-amy, and @lemonlyman-dotcom for the tags! I was going to keep the positivity train going with snippets from this, but seeing as 1x08 is on top of everyone's mind, it seemed more fitting to share something from the Carlos character study that delves just into that:

With TK, falling in love is starting to feel less and less like a mistake. With TK, Carlos thinks that maybe, in due time, falling in love will feel like an absolute certainty. That he wasn’t wrong for holding out his heart.

Then a day like today happens and it spirals him into a tailspin.

A day like today, where TK’s in a coma and Carlos is left wondering if his uncle was right. As he sits in an uncomfortable plastic chair, watching TK’s chest rise and fall, he’s left wondering if he’s made the mistake of caring too much.

Caring too much for something, for someone, who might just cause him to break apart from the inside. Someone who could cause him to shatter like glass and stain his hands with oxidized blood as he hurries to put back together all the jagged edged pieces that have fallen apart.

As his gaze lingers over TK, he can feel a burning sensation start to prick at the back of his throat, he can feel his eyes start to sting. Tears are starting to form and he hates it. His next blink lasts a little longer than usual, drying the dewy drops that are trying to fight themselves free.

When he opens his eyes, now red-rimmed, bloodshot and glossy, he looks outside of the hospital window. A day that was basked in sunlight has suddenly been shrouded in a grey overcast haze. Carlos wonders if this is the grey veil that fell upon everything that TK used to tell him about.

Chim: His boyfriend Carlos is in it too. Just the 1 coma, but we're optimistic.

Buck: So whenever you get into one, just let us know.

Seven Sentence Sunday

She’s always done what she likes, which usually aligns with what Gabriel likes, apart from the odd occasion. The time she let Tía Lucy host a séance in the living room, and didn’t mention it, springs to mind. Gabriel rolls in, switches on the lights while saying a loud, “What in the name of hell?!” and a circle of ten people fling into the air screaming like a demon has been summoned from the hallway.

Carlos thinks his father would have a lot to say, but he doesn’t have the energy to list things off, or make the argument himself. So, he mumbles, “Well, I appreciate it,” and she kisses his cheek.

They sit down, Andrea occupying the chair next to Carlos’. She stares at TK and pushes her wooden Rosary beads between her thumb and forefinger, meditating with the Mysteries.
