#MovieMonday Buster Keaton & Big Joe Roberts engage in the thrill of the chase in “The Blacksmith,” 1922.  This scene, rediscovered in 2013, was filmed by Buster after he was unhappy with the original - for all these years, we’d been watching the version he didn’t like!

Me: hmm I do wanna write this as an x Reader fic..
What people think I mean: smutty fic where Reader gets railed by/rails the character
What I mean: Fic where reader is chased down like an animal in the woods where they die at the hands and fangs of the character

Hiiii! I haven’t really been around this fandom for a while but I got the sudden urge to reread The thrill of the chase moves in mysterious ways, I’m not sure who the author was, but I know I had it bookmarked and I can’t find it. Do you know if it’s been deleted?
Hi there! Oh I love this fic too! 😍 not sure if it’s been hidden or deleted, tagging @veelawings in case she’s still around!

The Dangerous Charm of Mysterious People: Why We Chase Those Who Don’t Want Us
Have you ever found yourself inexplicably drawn to someone who seems just out of reach? The ones who are distant, unpredictable, and emotionally unavailable often become the most desirable. But why do we crave the ones who don’t seem to want us? What is it about the thrill of the chase that makes them so irresistible? More importantly, how can you flip the script and use this dynamic to your…

this video has terrible audio, but I thought I’d show how well Pangur is moving after a year on solensia! it blocks arthritic pain but not the actual deterioration, so her hind legs move a little awkwardly, but she’s racing around as though she doesn’t turn 13 this year

Do you think Davrin and Rook are insufferable during their flirting phase?
They're making flirty quips at each other constantly, semi-publicly roleplaying (predator prey comments), and making any excuse to spar with each other so they can see each other sweaty and disheveled
I'm just imagining the companions having to watch the most sexually charged sparring they've ever seen and they're all so over it (except for Bellara, who's writing shit down)
Then when they get together, all of it just stops. They're a completely normal couple who hold hands and ya they flirt a bit in public but not NEARLY as much as they were beforehand. Instead of the insanely frequent comments about how good their clothes would look on each other's floor, Davrin and Rook are going on picnic dates and shit, making sure the other one touches grass.
What absolute whiplash the rest of the gang must've experienced

Monster (or not?)
It was a normal day for the Justice League, nothing special had happened, but Batman seemed to have a bad feeling. So when the alarm went off, he was prepared for almost anything.
Unfortunately, not much can prepare you for a 10-foot ice-covered, invincible Eldritch in the middle of Gotham. As much as the League tried, they didn't seem to do any damage to it (Jason was the first to notice that the creature wasn't attacking, just defending itself; he frowned at the observation).
From there, many strange things began to happen. First: A group of people dressed in white (which, frankly, they had never seen before in their lives) fanned out around the League, giving them weapons capable of harming the "creature" and pointing out to them that it was a "ghost", giving information about it.
Second, a pair of colorful scientists stood at the center of all the agents in white, though they seemed to be arguing with each other. One looked murderous, while the other looked... tired, almost guilty.
Third and last, a group of students kept trying to get closer. Jason thought they were suicidal until he heard the girl in purple tell them to leave "Danny" alone. She seemed to be silenced quickly, but the detail stuck in his head.
With a bad feeling, Jason turned to the college kids. A red-haired girl stood in the center of them, holding a chunk of ice? and watching the creature at the center of it all. While the League dealt with the agents in white, Jason decided to listen to them.
"He's my brother," the redhead said as soon as she saw him, "he's not a monster, they broke his core, please, you need to understand"
Jason looked at the creature again, although its body was mostly black, he could see ice covering a crystal in the center, it looked broken, he suspected that was his "core". At the same moment, Bruce finished talking to the men in white and accepted the weapons.
Danny was frightened and panicked. His form changed when his core broke in the middle of a fight, the GIW had shot him, and he didn't know how to retreat to his original form. His words came out only in Ghost speak, and the heroes around him looked ready to kill him, which didn't help his ice control.

ok, but, the series so far is doing a phenomenal job at showcasing just how prideful and unjust the gods are towards their children, how it's making the viewers look at the gods with contempt and asking 'how could you ever think to do this to your own child?' Percy's anger at Poseidon's abandonment (even if Percy is his favorite son, he grew up without his father and only 'earned' his attention when fighting Clarisse, like Percy said. Then, it's only when he's falling to his death in Athena's temple that he finally intervenes, but only sending a nereid in his place.) Annabeth blatantly stating that she knows her mother will protect them - not only in a sacred temple, but a temple to her mother nonetheless - only to boldly accept that she's willing to die as punishment for her mother's wounded pride (yet here she is, a girl with no family besides Luke, who still had faith in her mother to guide and protect her. especially after the entire encounter with Medusa, Annabeth still stood by her mother's side and how 'just' she is) Clarisse desperate for some form of recognition from her father, desperately fighting the new kid so that she can get some speck of glory because this unclaimed child killed the Minotaur while she's done nothing but try to live up to her father and be a 'proper' daughter of Ares (only to have her only gift from him broken, lose the fight to the new kid, and not even considered for the quest despite being one of camp's most skilled and proficient fighters) All of this just... building and building on how unjust the gods are to their own children, how those demigods suffer as they try to earn their parent's attention - not love, attention. We are only halfway through the first season and it is so deliciously setting up the precedent for why Luke will betray Camp and the gods, why others are drawn to his beliefs even when he's less Luke and more Kronos.
Because, really, with the way the gods have treated them so far, could you really blame any of them for turning their backs in the hope of a better future?

Ja'Marr: That bowl? Ohhhh that motherfucking bowl.
Justin: That bowl trophy, ya heard me? After we spank y'all when y'all come here.
Ja'Marr: *confused dog noises*
Justin: You heard me. You heard me.
....
Ja'Marr: We could take it back to the college days if you really really want to.
