I need to write a post about things that happening in Charlie's and Glinda's life in the new chronicle ( 5 years after 1st one)
for now in short The followed the trail of their enemy (presumably) a mummy to the Cairo Charlie was hired by the toreador Archon to investigate a ritualistic murder of the local settite leader. The killers took victim's soul out, and we learned there will be 11 more murders to gather energy and perform something horrible. We spent a lot of time in the dreaming, saving a couple of changelings and now Glinda has her own little court and can officially be called Queen. We didn't kill the fomori that took this part of the Dreaming, but we found his manifestation in real world and planning on killing him this way. Later on, Charlie and Glinda saved young changeling again, taking her away from Ventrue she worked on. Glinda killed a lot of this Ventrue's workers.. Chris was cursed in the dreaming and going to stay in female body for now.. The new changeling named Lotoa is living with Charlie and Glinda now. She has a drug addiction but I hope we'll heal her ( with love and probably domination haha) A baali is seeking for Christopher, Archon childe (adopted) and trying to do it by using Charlie's prophetic abilities. Seems like Charlie still have demon's touch in him and baali can use it.. Billie, our gangrel, were infested with an unknown entity that slowly drove her insane and tried to corrupt her soul. Was it blood worm? Or demon manifestation? or something else? we have no idea. Billie decided to connect her unlife with changelings and asked Glinda for help. They took a little part of Billie's skin that will never heal, and took out the worm in a very beautiful ritual. Billie knows Charlie's real name now, as it's impossible to lie near Lotoa. We all live in Bilie's domain, a fight club for people and vampires. Billie was stolen away on the last session..
We also visited a settite orgy. And generally fuck a lot in weird places.. Glinda is also made an artifact and put it inside Charlie's body ( and he finds it hot)

So I heard you like Wicked too?
Which songs from Wicked do you think would fit the FOP characters?
For Good is obviously Timmy and his fairies which you already made a post about, peak >>>> You made another ask but I also agree that As Long As You're Mine is Coswan coded Popular goes to Blonda, no question. Even though we only had one episode with her, she means the world to me. It's very obvious she's a parody of those diva celebrities and Glinda at the start can seem like a mean girl diva. Plus they're both blonde with curly/swirly hair.
I can easily see Blonda in the Glinda role and Wanda as Elphaba for that song. But I raise a more interesting concept, Blonda and Peri. Peri as a baby was naturally confident but with how much of an anxious mess he grew up to be I headcanon that the pressure of fame got to him as a teen growing up. Like damn I was the first fairy baby in a hot minute, and I can see Blonda showing him the ropes of fame through musical theatre. Next song, Dancing Through Life (well at least the first half) I can see Cosmo as Fiyero sooooo well. I mean- Life's more painless, for the brainless
Thanks to this writing guide/cosmo analysis I've realized Cosmo is a little smarter and self aware then he seems. He's seen as an idiot and can play into that. Fiyero does the same thing when he's first introduced in the musical, but it's an act of sorts. Which Dancing Through Life demonstrates beautifully. The rest of the song is more focused about the shifting character dynamics but that first part with Fiyero really gets to me. I was writing Timmy as Spider-Man like two days ago (stick with me) and as I wrote a scene where he was being a selfish jerk (which he tends to be in canon sometimes) and No Good Deed started playing in my head and snuck it's way into my writing. I've always been fascinated by the episode where Timmy does a bunch of good things for his friends and then gets punished for it so he wishes he was never born. It was really messed up but yeah, people in Timmy's life (outside of his fairies) don't really appericate him. AJ got insanely jealous when Timmy got an A once. Chester and AJ started playing a new game Timmy got when Timmy wasn't even there. These are random examples but those are the vibes I get from them. I mean the whole world is cartoonish against Timmy, and the times he does do good things he gets the short end of the stick. Wishing his mom's garden was alive and it bringing back a deadly hamster... Wishing Vicky remained his babysitter just so he'd keep his fairies longer... Wishing Vicky wasn't evil and then an evil bug almost infecting the president. That boy can't catch a break fr. I'll end off on a fun one, One Short Day. I can see that being Peri and Timmy being excited to explore fairy world, especially since they grew up on Earth. Fun brotherly bonding time. Two boys LET LOSE IN FAIRYWORLD!! MORE AT ELEVEN
#fop#fopanw#fairly oddparents#timmy turner#periwinkle fairywinkle cosma#oh wowie ive never gotten an ask before how to i tag this#uhhh#ask and answered#:p#wicked

Okay I saw Wicked again and I’m reobsessed so anyway some of my favorite things from this performance and just in general
The first word of the show is good and the last word of the show is wicked and if that doesn’t sum up how well the symbolism hits idk what does
Watching NOMTW it really did just hit me all over again the themes of fate and destiny and the limitations society puts on us and the limitations we put on ourselves
Wicked is a tragedy in the truest sense! No matter what Elphaba does she will not win and she cannot change things! No matter what Glinda does she will lose Elphaba!
Glinda’s sad face in NOMTW, and also how she is surrounded by the Ozians but is still so alone. They’re all giving her so much space, she has to walk across the stage and reach out just to get them to look her in the eyes (she’s lost the only people who ever saw her as a person rather than a doll)
The first time Elphaba runs downstage and she’s grinning so wide and she has so much hope for herself and for the world
The silence while Elphaba is dancing alone at the Ozdust, but more importantly, the way the music starts all soft and quiet when Glinda starts dancing with her. It’s the most romantic tune in the first act, maybe in the entire show
All the hand holding
The way that Glinda almost goes with her in Defying Gravity
The way Glinda reaches for Elphaba once she starts flying. Not caring at all that the guards and the Ozians and everyone else on stage can see. She’s just trying to reach her one last time
(The way Elphaba reaches back)
Glinda’s solo in Thank Goodness (Celia Hottenstein nails Glinda’s lower parts and she was an absolute dream especially in this song)
When Elphaba returns and Glinda walks into the room, the first thing she does is run into Elphaba’s arms. She’s horrified at the situation later but at that moment she doesn’t even notice anyone but Elphie
As Long As You’re Mine. Look Fiyero and Elphaba are Not It for me but the intensity of that song, the way the music slides into these dark little motifs, the harmonies. It’s so good
Glinda mourning Nessa when no one else is around
Elphaba blaming herself and Glinda immediately trying to comfort her even though they’re mad at each other
Idk if this is a normal thing and I’ve just never caught it before but when Fiyero was holding Glinda at gunpoint Elphaba was shaking her head, she looked so scared
Glinda tossing Elphaba her hat back and telling her to go
The opt up on FiyeeEErroooOOOOOOooooo
(All of No Good Deed)
Especially when she’s further back and the smoke is whirling around her and everything is purple and gold and it’s so sinister and her cape is flying around her and she is well and truly broken
I actually really love March of the Witch Hunters. It sounds sick af and it makes me imagine a world where the musical was closer to Maguire’s book and kept that super eerie, darkly violent vibe
(I feel the same way about when Fiyero is alone after ALAYM, and the music gets all intense and he’s running around the stage, holding up his lantern. idk those scenes hit a very specific vibe and I don’t quite know what it is but I like it)
Before For Good, when Elphaba started to tell Glinda to run, Glinda sobbed her name and it hit so hard
Have I mentioned the hand holding?
The way that they stand so still in For Good. So many songs have such insane movement to them, or even interludes between parts but For Good is just the two of them
(It’s such a love song)
Elphaba blew a kiss to Glinda and then pressed her hand over her heart when she hid her behind the curtain before the melting scene
Glinda’s sad face in NOMTW pt2
Again idk how common this is but before the lil For Good reprise Fiyero started to lead Elphaba away and she was about to take his hand but then Glinda started singing “who can say…” and Elphaba immediately turned away from him to go walk toward Glinda
#wicked#wicked the musical#gelphie#kinda#back on my bullshit I guess#god this show will always have my heart#Celia hottenstein#Olivia valli#was Elphaba and her voice is stunningggggg

if you feel like it!!! i’d like to know your thoughts and hcs for a modern setting (or not) where things are relatively normal and elphaba has to take care of liir (as his 7yo self) and there’s also glinda. I’ve always wondered how she (also glinda) would work around children – i know we see elphaba in the book around them and she doesn’t care, but she is also going insane and full of grief so i don’t really take it as a response. I’m not sure if my request makes sense but i always enjoy your thoughts!
For someone who has said repeatedly they don't see gelphie as parents at all, yous seem desperate for my opinions on gelphie as parents. 😆 Anyway,
Even as their happiest and best selfs, I still think neither Glinda or Elphaba would ever chose to become a parent. It just... falls into their lap and they make the best of it.
And by that I mean, after college, Glinda and Elphaba broke up for about a year or two and Elphaba runs into Fiyero and gets knocked up (oops) during their shortlived fling and then 9 months later there was Liir.
They are very much a dysfunctional family. They probably co-parent with Fiyero—who is most likely, objectively, the best parent out of the three of them. (@gliyerabaa wanna take this brain wave over and make it into some ot3 hcs lmao?)
Elphaba would be both the fun parent and the strict parent. Yes, let's get on this rollercoaster you're not even tall enough for. No, you can't play video games before finishing all your homework. Yes, let's have only a ton of ice cream for dinner. It honestly gives Liir whiplash lmao.
Glinda brings some much needed structure to Liir's life. She likes the routine and recognizes that Elphie's chaotic and impulsive tendencies are not always what a little child needs.
It takes a bit before Glinda gets over her envy (since Liir is the living and breathing evidence that Elphaba very much loved someone who is not her and it infuriates her). But, through interacting with Liir, she sets those feelings aside. Because, holy shit, she adores that boy pretty much like he is her own son.
They both tuck Liir in and together tell him a bedtime story. It's a night time ritual that came out of Liir being so upset to go to sleep, it was a two-person-job to basically wrestle him to bed. Now he's older, it's a lot better, and for all of them one of their favorite times of day. But oohh boy if one of them isn't presence. The Tantrum that ensues...
Anyway, if you want to see the Liir&Glinda&Elphaba dynamic I very much encourage you to read attrition by @festivating. It's very good!

ever since i saw wicked last month i actually have not stopped thinking about a vilidia wicked au... vil would be glinda, idia would be elphaba, ortho would be nessa and kalim would be fiyero but the whole love triangle plot + elphaba/fiyero ending up together would be removed and kalim would just be the silly third wheel bestie who encourages whatever insane gay thing vil and idia have got going on. like. listen. these lyrics are literally so them:
and also just?? the fact that glinda asks elphaba if the ozdust ball was her first party and she asks if a funeral counts?? i know idia would say the same thing. and vil singing "popular" and giving idia a makeover?? during the song glinda doesn't even hardly do anything, she basically just takes elphaba's hair out of its braid and puts a flower in it and then goes "why, elphaba, look at you, you're beautiful"--so that but with vil and idia?? it's perfect.
#this is so niche and stupid idk if it'll make sense to anyone else ASFKJGDFHJ oh well#but also: alternate idea is that rook could be fiyero and maybe they'd be poly#and then before popular you'd have vil going 'so my best secret is that ROOK AND I ARE GETTING MARRIED OMG!!!! now you tell me your secret!#and idia is just like 'well my parents hate me because ortho's condition is my fault.'#anyway. i wish i could draw because i have so much brainrot about this ugh#twisted wonderland#vildia#vilidia#idia shroud#vil schoenheit

Frozen Stage Musical thoughts
December 2022 + October 2023 (because I forgot to make the initial post, so this is 2 for 1)
disclaimer: Some of my 2023 additions are probably not really *new* but it's hard to remember everything... Anyway, here are the notes I took right after seeing the shows! + This is neither coherent nor an analysis, mostly just reactions to a few things lol, not even going to mention the songs cause they ALL slap
ACT 1
- Sir Jörgenbjorgen! He's right there! But he's Anna's stuffie? What does that mean?? (also is Olaf frozen advenure canon again?)
- Idunas scarf from F2!! Also right there! She's wearing it and then wraps Anna up in it after she is struck by Elsa's magic (love that)
- Iduna tells the trolls that she's Northuldra! She's the one who calls them to help Anna (setting up F2)
- Grand Pabi is uh not so gran anymore huh & Bulda says they love kids (raised a few of them themselves), and to bring Anna and Elsa around sometime
- It was a choice (neutral) to make the trolls hot
- Update: Idunna says they'll search far and wide for magical answers
- Update: Also, the gloves Elsa wears? They were Idunas!
- Update: And it looked like Iduna wanted to reply to Pabi asking "born or cursed" when Agnar interrupts and says "born" (I might have seen that wrong, but it made me think this is setting up F3??)
- Olaf actually asks about "Samantha?" When Anna and Kristoff hear him in the woods, wondering who's talking as he joins in on looking for himself... haha (Update: he asks for Samantha during "In Summer")
- Anna and Hans dancing! All the choreography is amazing and wow, but they do this funny bit of doing different (modern) dance moves together and it's pretty endearing
- when Anna tells Hans "I'm not the heir. I'm just the spare" referencing the outtake song that helped develop her character!! (Update: this hit the West End audience way different post-Prince Harry's book "Spare" and was hilarious!)
- Costumes!! HOLY SHIT, the details the materials the glitter in Elsa's ice, all of it is insane and regal and beautiful, and so well thought out I want a huge artbook with all the details, please
- Anna (Stephanie McKeon) could totally play Galinda; very Chenoweth voice qualities??? (Update: I got Gabrielle from Xena vibes for some reason, idk (Anna was Laura Dawkes))
- Wow they are doing amazing with the ice and the million and one backdrops! Insane! Also with the lights?! It's magical!
- Update: Oh my god Elsa (Laura Emmit) is so tiny and petite, the different statues of actresses always add a different flavour to the character design somehow? (Like it is so fun with Glinda and Elphaba and what their height difference will be each time) (I love everything unique an actress/actor will bring to their role)
- Elsa is like 10x more regal? I can't explain it but she very much feels like she's living in a piece of historical fiction more so than a fairytale. but I love it, it's brilliant and adds some layers too, she's so poised in the first act and polite and nods at the court like that(TM)
- more amazing dancing moments
- The Duke of Weselton calls Elsa pretty in a weird way while asking her to dance and later calls her "just a little girl" and lets out some sexism that women are weak, which is very in character and another addition to how the stage musical feels more realistic in a way? Or at least caters more towards adults
- he also says something VERY similar to Atohallen's memory of Elsa's grandfather; that magic is unnatural and uh I forgot the actual wording, but he essentially said the same thing = nothing good comes of magic (especially in the hands of a woman) (yes he says that)
- idk if Sven is amazing, cute and perfect or uncannily creepy lmao but gotta love him! Olaf is obviously perfectly recreated! (Update: Sven is so cute oh my god) (also Mikayla Jade is the first woman to ever play the role! She's a really cool stunt performer!)
- Anna is VERY flirty with Hans lmao, girl is so thirsty (the way she touched that statue's tits in "for the first time in forever" ahahaha) (Update: girl is so horny, all those adult jokes, did she actually get more horny this time? Bless her)
- Update: They don't make blorbos like Elsa anymore, for real
- Anna's snow outfit is so cute!!! With her hair open? And the hat and all that...
- Still gagging at the dress change in Let it go!
ACT 2
- Bulda asks if Anna doesn't want to marry Kristoff because of how she raised him, further solidifying how the trolls are his family
- PLUS when he joins the trolls dance! Because he KNOWS it! Wonderful moment (also wonderful when Anna starts joining in, all of her dances are so sweet and fun and Anna's love language is dance, I don't take criticism)
- child Anna's cast also played the baby troll during fixer-upper upper and it's the cutest scenes!
- Weselton and Hans both actually said they wanted to kill Elsa! Like the word kill has been said twice (2), and I just didn't expect it because Disney movies do like to dance around that one- it's really intense
- Elsa's pants and corset combo in the second act looked cool in pictures online, but seeing it irl? in the third row? Holy shit it's stunning! Her let it go dress too of course, but she looked amazing in this new outfit wow - the detail - (this is the part where I don't talk about how the corset, respectfully, she was just very stunning and wow Samantha Barks had the smallest waist ever known to man in that thing!)
- God those costumes are siccccc, a lot of this musical feels like historical fiction and is so so well thought out! The dances and songs and ten thousand backdrops are INSANE
- Instead of being knocked out by the falling chandelier, Elsa goes with the guards willingly, and they handcuff her on the spot (at the ice palace) Which is... a blow to my heart to say the least, but makes sense! She just asks to be taken to Anna, to make sure she's safe... being handcuffed and dragged off is perfectly reasonable for her!
- Update:
Weselton: "Even the queen is shivering" Elsa: "I'm not cold" Hans: "She's scared"
- the entire scene where Anna freezes to death (that also resembled dangerous to dream with the ensamble lifting Anna up; as the spotlight of Elsa's attention) was phenomenally choreographed and I have no words!!
TLDR: It's too mind-blowingly amazing for words, and so incredibly thought out! And it's a little more grown up too, adding some layers and fleshing out bits and bobs that I really enjoyed

I thought I’d share my HC’s about Glinda because I’m a huge Glinda Fanboy so here they are:
-Glinda has intense Anxiety possibly even GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder), she started struggling with it at a very young age when her parents and others started forcing her into social norms
-Glinda loved Bubbles all the way up until the Wizard made them a “Glinda the good” thing. Bubbles used to help her anxiety as a grounding technique, but once the Wizard found out he had her use them as a mean of flight and bubbles became a suffocating thing for Glinda to be around. (I have wrote a entire fanfic about this called “Bubbles” on ao3).
-Aromatic Spectrum and Lesbian Glinda. The only person Glinda ever fell in love with was Elphaba, throughout her entire life she was intensely worried she’d never fall in love or even have a crush but then she falls for Elphaba and goes: “oh no, this is worse”
-Noise sensitivity, honestly I don’t know where I got this one. I was just writing a Gelphie fanfiction once, I wrote it in and now it’s a forever HC of mine.
-After Elphaba “dies” (depending on book or musical context), Glinda is just constantly in a depressive state, she only and only does what she has to do, she’s constantly burnt out and just that depressed wine drunk queen.
-Glinda always sleeps with Elphaba’s witch hat after she “died” as some form of comfort
-She’s scared of thunderstorms and rain because they remind her of Elphaba’s “death”
-She’s a runner, I don’t know how I came up with this but I just always imagine Glinda being a insanely fast runner, even in her heels. She learned and practiced to run intensely fast because she’s always had the fear people would learn who she really is and she’d have to get away as fast as possible.
-She’s has a lot of interests at heart she could ramble for, for hours if someone would listen. And Elphaba just happens to be a good listener.
I could go on for days but there’s a few of them for you, I know some of these and more common people than others but I wanted to share because why not?

STRANGER THINGS X WIZARD OF OZ
I grew up obsessed with “The Wizard of Oz,” so much so that I read some of the original L. Frank Baum books (which I highly recommend). The more I watch and analyze Stranger Things, the more similarities I see between the two stories. Gay people in the 80s referred to themselves as being “Friends with Dorothy,” so as not to be outed. I also believe each OG Party Member represents a different Oz character—which has huge implications for the overall story.
WILL: He’s our Dorothy (for the reason stated above). He’s on a journey to discover his power and strength, dreaming of a life far away from Kansas (Hawkins). He believes he needs his Ruby Slippers (El’s Powers) to save himself, but he’s always had THE POWER inside him. He can save himself. He meets a cast of characters along the way that teach him about the world and ultimately himself, giving him the strength he needs to defeat his grief and move on from his trauma.
ELEVEN: Eleven is Glinda. She meets Dorothy (WILL) on the journey and guides the Party through their tasks. She is wise and kind, helping Dorothy overcome his trauma and discover the power within him. El’s Powers are the Ruby Slippers, which Dorothy thinks he needs to defeat The Wicked Witch of the West (Vecna). By the end of the story, Glinda tells Dorothy he never needed the slippers and had the power within him all along. Glinda disappears and Dorothy returns to Kansas, stronger, surer, and finally processing his trauma.
MIKE: Mike is The Cowardly Lion. Stay with me here. I am absolutely not saying Mike is a wuss, because he’s not. He just thinks of himself this way because of everything people tell him. Lucas says he’s Hopeless, Dustin says he’s Oblivious, his parents say he’s a punk. Why wouldn’t he feel cowardly and afraid? It’s only when Dorothy (WILL) comes into his life and calls him “His Heart” that Mike finally understands his worth and takes up his mantle to fight. He also believes Dorothy needs his Ruby Slippers to win, but will soon discover Dorothy’s incredible powers.
LUCAS: He’s our Tin Man. Lucas loves loudly, but it doesn’t always come across that way. He’s brash and brutally honest, often refusing to sugar coat his words in favor of candor. He fears he is difficult to love because of this and closes himself off to potential love interests, thus becoming “rusty.” It’s only when the Oil Can (MAX) softens him up and accepts him for who he is, that he opens up and discovers the true meaning of love.
(I also think Max could share the Lion with Mike sine they’re basically same person different font)
DUSTIN: Dustin is the scarecrow. We all know Dustin is genius-level intelligent, but he sometimes gets carried away with his discoveries, going to great lengths to indulge his mind (including stealing books from the library). It’s not until someone falls in love with his incredible mind (STEVE) that the Scarecrow learns to harness his intelligence and use it to fight his enemies. His mind will be key in destroying Vecna. Remember the Forever Clock (perfect for the Apocalypse!!)
JOYCE AND HOPPER: Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. They’re Dorothy’s caretakers since his original parents (LONNIE) couldn’t care for him. They know Dorothy dreams of a life far beyond Kansas, but do their best to support him while he’s here. They’ll do anything to keep Dorothy safe.
SUZIE: Suzie is our Wizard. I love this one. The boys go on a journey to find her, she’s wearing green (like, come on), and her house is full of munchkins (literally). Lots of people have created analyses of SUZIE’s house, so I won’t go into detail here, but she is crucial to cracking this code. She’s a master hacker, able to change grades and possibly storylines. She’s not all that threatening, what with being a fourteen-year-old girl, but she holds insane amounts of power.
VECNA: The Wicked Witch of the West. The ultimate Big Bad, hell-bent on destroying Dorothy. Willing to do whatever it takes to bring him down, lest he destroy his plan. The witch seems unbeatable, always one step ahead, but Dorothy discovers his power and defeats the witch easily with just a bucket of water. Also the Demo creatures are Flying Monkeys. I will not elaborate.
I’m not sure about the rest of the cast, but let me know in the comments what you think! As far as the story itself is concerned, Dorothy needs to find out about his powers, and we’re so close!! The moment someone removes Soteria, Dorothy’s powers will be released, and Vecna will be toast. This does mean, however, some of our beloved characters will disappear, too—particularly Eleven. She’s Glinda the Good, spirit guide for Dorothy and his Party. Once Dorothy discovers his power, Glinda isn’t needed anymore. Does that mean she will die? Not necessarily, but I do think she will “ascend” to the newly-freed Upside Down (now Heaven instead of Hell) and rule it. She will always be there protecting and guiding them, but unable to cross back over. This is probably where characters like Dustin, Steve, Robin, Lucas? etc. will end up because we all know they’re going to die. It sucks but at least they have somewhere beautiful to go. Anyone not on the hill in the final shot is Fair Game for me, unfortunately.
Throughout this journey, Dorothy (WILL) has learned countless lessons from his friends and family that will ultimately fuel him to defeat his grief and trauma once and for all. The only character that will remain is Mike. Mike is more than the Lion, he is Dorothy’s lifeline. Mike makes Will brave. Without him, Will cannot survive. He may have all the power in the world, but that power means nothing if he can’t have Mike. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s beautiful.
Also, since The Wizard of Oz is a story within a story, this entire story of Stranger Things is either a DnD campaign Mike wrote for Will, or a Comic Book series the two boys wrote together. Mike does say he’s been working on a campaign for Will, so this might be what he’s referencing. Either way, it’s going to be incredibly emotional and beautiful, and I can’t wait!!!

greetings! it is i, your secret santa. first question: what is your favourite thing about wicked? this can be anything at all.
I enjoy greatly the political metaphor aspect, as well as the child like wonder that I get from the first act. ( I like the blend of the two)
My favorite character would be Glinda and Nessarose. (I do believe she is a bit problematic in the musical. I like the book version of her best in the fact that she is somehow insane)
I also like the gay subtext a lot. ( I like Glephie)
So uh do with that whatever you want!

Wicked
By Gregory Maguire
Hello again! This is going to cover the college years of Elphaba, her meeting Galinda and the insanity that ensures during her time at Shiz. Oh my God, this is a lot. There is so much to discuss in this part of the book. It feels like so much happens in this chapter and at the same time absolutely nothing at all. I’m trying really hard not to just summarize the whole thing so please bear with me. (I pretty much summarize the whole thing 😅)
⚠️Warning! Spoilers for the book and it’s musical counterpart! ⚠️
⚠️Content Warning! This story contains explicit language, mild violence, and racial issues! Read at your own risk!⚠️
Gillikin part 1
This chapter covers a lot of stuff in the span of 146 pages. I gonna try to skip the stuff I don’t have a whole lot to talk about. This chapter skips directly to Ms. Galinda on her way to Shiz University, which in the book is an all-girls school. On the train, she meets Dr. Dillamond, the Goat professor (love him). During this time we’ve learned The Wizard of Oz came to power via hostile takeover, and is rolling back the rights of Animals. Animals with a capital A refers to Animals with souls, and the ability to speak. Galinda is incredibly bitchy to the Doctor, strictly because he’s a Goat. Galinda is a shallow, classist, naïve girl that has no concern or care for anything outside of herself. No surprise there. She gets saddled with Elphaba as her roommate because her chaperone (named Ama Clutch) was late and couldn’t vouch for her. There is continued discussion of the rights of Animals and all. We are introduced to Boq, who is smitten with Glinda and attempts to get close to her with the aid of Elphaba (who finds the whole thing absolutely hilarious).
In comparison to the musical, Boq and Elphaba strike up this very interesting friendship. During the summer months the two build an unlikely friendship (along with a gay couple that I desperately want to see in the movie, but know I probably won’t) as they attempt to help Dr. Dillamond provide validity to his existence. Boq works in a library that is barred to Animals and women alike. Galinda goes to a summer lake house one of her friends own.
Moving on from the summer, Elphaba and Galinda are roomies again and for the start of their Sophomore year. Then, the worst, most terrible thing you could ever think of happens.
DOCTOR DILLAMOND IS MURDERED!!
I wanted to scream so bad when I read this scene. All the poor Goat wanted was rights and he was murdered! The murder is so gruesome and bloody! Like no one is gonna believe this is anything other than murder. And it gets worse! Ama Clutch saw the murder from Galinda’s and Elphaba’s room! The head mistress (Madam Morrible or Horrible Morrible which I agree with very much) had her servant do it! This bitch made Ama Clutch go insane to cover up the murder!
With their chaperone out of commission, Horrible Morrible has Elphaba’s old nanny (conveniently named Nanny) come up to Shiz to take over as chaperone to the two girls. She of course has to bring Nessarose with her as she is responsible for her. The thing about Nessarose is, she doesn’t have arms. She was born without arms, and struggles with balance and in turn walking. More can probably be said about this but I’m not exactly the person for that. Nessarose is much like her father, very religious. She is also the father’s favorite, so she’s very spoiled. Which honestly breaks the middle child stereotype (yes, they also have a younger brother named Shell, but he’s not important). Nessarose is described as stunningly beautiful, with her only flaw being said lack of arms.
Without a professor for the girl’s college, they connect the boys and girls college, letting them take classes together. This is where we are introduced to Fiyero.
Now Book Fiyero and Musical Fiyero are incredibly different. For starters, book Fiyero is explicitly a POC, and it is integral to his back story. Before I say anymore, I feel I must preface this with the fact that I’m very white, so I will not analyze these parts of his character as I am not equipped to do so. I ask any POC that feel comfortable in giving their insight on the character please do so. I’m gonna go through really quick and give all the information about Fiyero that is in the book but completely written out of the musical. I also should mention at lot of this reeks of “written by a white guy in the 90’s” so please approach this with caution.
Book Fiyero:
is married at the age of seven (he does reassure us that he hasn’t done the “marital duties”)
is often described as Ochre-skinned
has blue diamond tattoos all over his face and body
he is the crown prince of his tribe during his entrance
his clothes are described as strange and all other characters act like they’ve never seen a POC before.
Right now, Fiyero is a little more of a background character at this moment. He comes into class late and is attacked by a pair of sentient antlers (which my favorite gay couple saves him from). A side character, yet for some reason still friend to the rest of the main characters (named Alvaric) makes blatantly racist comments about Fiyero. Elphaba comes to his defense and that’s kinda it for now.
Now this class they share is run by a professor Nikidik, and this man is a menace to society (and not in a good way). This man kidnaps an orphaned baby lion, who is too young to speak, if it can. He plans to hit this baby lion with a mallet to see if it can feel pain (like what?!). Everyone freaks out (and rightfully so), and two girl students grab the lion off the table and run out of the classroom with the baby in their arms! (The cat distribution system at work!) And this man is so confused why they’re so upset. I imagine this professor’s face to be very punch-able.
After this Boq kinda gets over Glinda all on his own. Like, he still thinks she's pretty but, he doesn't see her as this unattainable goddess and more of a person he can call his friend. However, that interest has not moved to Nessarose. And on this same page, Nessarose gets the shoes. Yes, the red ruby shoes, that is the catalyst for the entirety of Wizard of OZ. So these shoes are a gift from their father. No gift for Elphaba though. I think there's enough people who break down this part of the story, and there's no time Ama Clutch is dying!
Glinda's original chaperone is dying. In the infirmary, surrounded by Glinda, and Elphaba, she has a moment of clarity. Confessing that she did see Madame Morrible's clock work servant (named Grommetik) kill the Doctor Dillamond. And with this horrifying revelation she just dies. Like fully dead. I remember this scene being absolutely mind boggling. Like these two college kids take this so death and murder witness moment so, well (or at least better than I would). Then we cut directly to Ama Clutch's funeral. And this is a "modest" funeral, which of course they mean to say cheap. And this is obviously acknowledged by Nanny of all people.
Ok but this next scene is actually kind important, narratively speaking. Morrible has a private chat with the three leading ladies (yes, she even makes Nanny leave the room). It's here that she:
Admits to commissioning the murder of Dr Dillamond (which I'm still mad about)
Admits to putting a spell on Clutch to drive her crazy after witnessing the murder.
Places a spell on the three girls right then and there. So they can't tell anyone what she just confessed to.
Confesses to be the shadow government in a way. She wants them to be the ruling hands after The Wizard is dead, or something like that. Big idea here is that she wants to put these girls in charge as they're all great at magic and should rule the world.
Morrible ends the spell and the girls kinda collapse. The spell immediately takes hold.
Final thoughts
I didn’t know where to put this in the overall review, but Imma tag it on at the end here. Just like in the musical I think Galinda changing her name after the death of Dr. Dillamond to be pretty shallow. I understand what the attempt was here, and it definitely comes off better here than in the musical. Glinda sees that she was a really shallow person and begins to understand the world outside of her own head and the privileges she comes from. It just feels like she flipped a switch instead of ever having any kind of character growth that the readers can see. What might’ve fixed this would be instead of Galinda spending her entire summer break with her snobbish friends, she goes back to the school early and helps Boq and Elphaba with their research. This would give Galinda the opportunity to experience more in the injustices of Animals. I can just see her asking “why can’t women go to the library? Not like I’d want to of course, but just the principle?” during one of the meet ups.
I don’t know if it’s just me but there are things about the way Elphaba is written that I read as autism-coded. I don’t know if anyone else had that reading, if you did, I would love to compare notes on the subject!
There's definitely a lot of sapphic undertones to the relationship with Glinda and Elphaba, but there's been discussions on that and maybe it'll get and entire separate post on it's own.
Overall this chapter really packed a punch with its content. I hope to do a full character analysis when I’m done the book. If I skipped anything you wanted me to talk about please let me know. I admit I’m rather nervous to keep reading. Coming off of Good Omens, I had really not expected a deep dystopian conversation about rights and the injustices of the systems that revoke them.

Can you please review the Wicked OBC show and share the link?!
WICKED on Broadway Review (2003)
I'm going to try and leave off quotes and lyrics that I really liked...
Idina Menzel is my Elphaba Thropp and I love her
Great first impression of our Green Girl™
The transition into the songs was smooth
"What's in this punch?" // "Lemons, and melons, and pears." // "Oh my."
Norbert played the himbo trope so well
Fiyero's entrance was a great first impression, and I would not expect anything less
Madame Morrible gushing over Nessarose and then subtly being startled by Elphaba's appearance
The way Fiyero went from being in love with G(a)linda to, instead, being in love with Elphaba was sweet
Speaking of Fiyero and Elphaba, the chemistry between Norbert and Idina felt genuine, thus, making the romance and feelings between their characters believable. The storyline between them was written well and didn't feel rushed or forced. #TeamWhateverTheShipNameForElphabaAndFiyeroIs
Elphaba telling Doctor Dillamond "...I have no friends." I'll be your friend! 🥺
The Wizard sounded less cruel in the musical than the novel, so I was on the fence about liking him or disliking him
Speaking of The Wizard, I loved Joel's portrayal of him. He was quite the charmer and honestly a little hard to not like.
So we all hate Madame Morrible, right??
“I happen to be genuinely self-absorbed and deeply shallow." -Fiyero Tigelaar in a nutshell
I love how protective Fiyero eventually became of Elphaba (same, Fiyero, same)
Fiyero panicking after hearing someone say how to possibly k*ll Elphaba
"I can't stand here grinning, pretending to go along with all of this!" He was genuinely worried about his green, soon-to-be girlfriend.
ANIMALS SHOULD BE SEEN AND NOT HEARD .. Ouch.
The train station part
"Fiyero, do you think I like hearing them say all these things about her?!" She still loves Elphaba deep down but can't vocalize it; however, there were a few times she tried to defend her.
Fiyero calling G(a)linda out on her bullsh*t: "You can't leave because you can't resist this, and that's the truth."
G(A)LINDA TOLD MADAME MORRIBLE AND THE WIZARD TO KILL NESSAROSE!!!! Well... use her as bait to capture Elphaba. This was done out of pure jealousy due to Fiyero confessing his feelings for Elphaba and running away with her.
(previous bullet point) Morrible: "We must now force her to show herself." // The Wizard: "How?" // Galinda: "Her sister." // Morrible: "What? What did she say?" // Galinda: "Use her sister. Spread a rumor, make her think her sister is in trouble..."
I loved the attitude and how dramatic Elphaba was over a pair of shoes. To be fair, though, they did belong to her sister. They were the last thing she had to remember her.
Regarding the previous bullet point, I love how Idina raised her pitch a few times towards the end of the musical, which began around her argument with Glinda shortly after Nessarose's death. For those who saw the musical, the argument begins after Elphaba asks to be alone with her (now dead) sister. Anyways, it sounded like she was paying a homage to Margaret Hamilton from the 1939 film by doing that.
The Wizard cutting Elphaba off just as she was about to tell him what happened to Doctor Dillamond by saying he knows why she's there and that she first must "prove" herself. He's a manipulative charmer.
So.. in the novel (and based on this), Elphaba went insane, like, mentally unstable kind of insane to the point of having at least one, full-blown mental breakdown. That being said, going back to the musical, I could hear the insanity in Idina's tone post-Nessarose's death (well done, Queen!); however, I wish there was more dialogue and "scenes" added to really emphasize Elphaba's mental instability. I mean.. our Green Girl™ went through a lot of shit (for a lack of better words) and most everyone hated her! And so, I wish we actually got to see how all of that took a mental toll on her to the point of having a full-blown mental breakdown.
Some of the songs felt rushed as well as lacked emotion too. I won't list out which ones, but that's just my opinion. For the songs that are my favorite, I like how the cast sounded in the album recording instead of on stage.
Since the quality was low, I couldn't hear too well...
The lion cub part. This is when a spark ignited in Elphaba and Fiyero's hearts.
Elphaba coming to Doctor Dillamond's defense after G(a)linda vocalized her anger of him accidentally mispronouncing her name for the second time
Elphaba's attempt at dancing. She tried, and that's what matters most.
I love how she immediately yanked the hat off once people began laughing at her and then, eventually, put it back on to start dancing
G(a)linda felt bad for purposely humiliating Elphaba, especially after Madame Morrible told her that Elphaba was the one who told her to give G(a)linda the training wand as a way to repay her for telling Boq to ask her sister to the dance
"For Good" is a beautiful song, and I love how Kristin and Idina sounded together. However, I just don't really buy the song, though, and here is why: Both mentally and emotionally, Elphaba was in a bad place. She was grieving over the loss of her sister and Fiyero, who was taken away by Oz guards to get tortured because he had a weapon on him and threatened to kill G(a)linda. To make things even worse, Elphaba was hated by everyone, and that's all thanks to The Wizard and Madame Morrible. Those are just a few things... . I'm sure some of you will argue that G(a)linda tried to comfort her (in secret since she was a "public figure"), and she did, but only once. Even during that one time, which was after they met up at the spot her sister was killed, the attempt at comforting Elphaba immediately turned into an argument, so I wouldn't really count that.
*This is just my opinion, though!*
I liked Doctor Dillamond, but I didn't care enough about him to the point of being sad about what happened to him. In the book, he was killed by a creature under Madame Morrible's orders...
Not G(a)linda calling Elphaba an "artichoke", lmao
The big hat at the beginning. That was so cool, and clever!
The ending!!!! Fiyero ran back on the stage and then knocked on the ground. After a few seconds, Elphaba opened the tile and he helped her out. My babies got their happy ending. 🥹❤️
Despite the crappy quality, I still enjoyed watching this, and I am beyond grateful for that person uploading a full bootleg performance. So.. thank you, kind stranger!
I'll probably end up reblogging this and adding more things that I liked, but for now, these moments stuck out to me the most.

Is there anything you want to tell us about Charlie that you didn't get to develop yet? 👀
That's a hard one! I don't think there are things I didn't tell, but totally things I didn't draw! First of all I want to draw his entire flat. My dear friend designed it for me and I plan to draw it by hand sometime
I don't even know how long he's going to live here, but I'm thrilled he has his own home for the first time in 200 years. Even tho his coterie leader paid for the rent haha. I want to draw much more pictures of the whole family in this flat, doing regular and not so regular things ( like idk, summoning ghosts (they did it)) I want to draw more of the times before Glinda, but I just can't get enough of her..She is a pure perfection, our Dm is a wizard ! For example, Charlie traveled with Wicca witch and her student for 2 and a half moths. And slept under her bed haha. She herself is a dhampir, a very sweet and calm character. In the world of very serious vampires he needed someone who keeps that spark of wonder and a desire for adventures. They never had any romantic relationship (the hot threesome was purely for the ritual *cough*) but first in many years he felt so calm, like if he was a part of a family. Witch's student later on became a student of Garry Dresden ( because our ST loves him very much as do I, so he made this lil cameo).
I totally want to explore more the changelings of our game. For example we had a wonderful, beautifully described woods in Umbra, near Arcadia. Charlie went here on almost suicidal mission with witch's student, to get an ingredient to heal Gilnda and Monica. He sang to the trees asking them to let them through haha (it was a super scary session) And I want to draw local changeling's freehold, on a chemistry. And ofcourse more changelings that we met ( a changeling king, chimeras, pookas, eshu..ah..) Surprisingly for me, I got VERY into that part of our game and thanks for our ST he gave me plenty food for future drawings! I want to draw more pictures with Folly, the demon who Charlie let out of his prison and made a contract with. He is insanely (ha!) cruel but devilishly charismatic entity. Little by little he is trying to take charlie's soul, what's left of human in him. But only when he's in the mood, he has a lot of other stuff to do, he is a busy demon. I want to draw Adzone, demon's jailer and the oldest vampire of the city, in his changeling plane outfit. Black plate armor with the cloak made of chains ended with hooks, a little dead body on the each hook. And a broken tower symbol on his chest. Adzone is the one who always helped changelings and keeps contact with them. (look at him he is so sexy haha)
I want to draw more pictures of Johnny, Charlie's friend and another malkavian of the city. I love him so much I made a similar character to play in another game >W<
Speaking of demons.. I want to draw an angel of our game. Yes, a real angel that keeps and old gangrel, Enkidu, prisoned, shopping his head off every day, every night. The place Enkidu trapped in is in the deep Umbra. But every time gangrels falls asleep they see a "dream" of that place. Enkidu lures them in, as an astral projections I suppose. Demon was there. So do Charlie. And Monica..again, so many wonderful, scary visons!! I already have a face claim for that angel just didn't draw them yet.. As for Gangrels, they had they embrace night described, showed in that dreams. Again, it was very inspiring and I hope to draw some of them someday. For now I even barely drew gangrels at all when there are SO MANY and the main plot of the game is tied with them. I..didn't even draw Enkidu, a fucking super duper old vampire who is (partially) here since second arc! See, I was so hyperfixated on Charlie's "save the princess, save the queen" quest i didn't even tell much about main theme of the game!! To see more gangrels of our game please check out @fj0rge ! and there are so so so much more! Salubri that once saved Charlie in 1910th, when he and his sires jumped into apocalypse. Apocalypses. His sires. His human family. His time in Cairo before he died.I want to redraw the pictures of when he killed a priest, because I find it an important part of the character, that feel of justice. I want to draw fomori we fought. I want to draw bug shaped werewolf that now our ally. I want to properly draw the horny Wicca ritual it was COOL. I want to draw the story of when Charlie killed his first human lover/his ghoul.. oh there is so many you have to stop me haha my brain never stops
closest to be drawn- Glinda riding her chimera and circled by ghosts and changeling freehold

HELLO im the same person who asked ur opinion on james surface but i have another question :)
if you have seen emerald city (2017), how do u feel about ojc's character in it??
this is my last ask i swear im sorry im just really curious 😭
hi! no worries, i always enjoy dissecting his characters like little bugs.
i enjoyed emerald city for what it was, and as a big fan of tarsem singh i would devour anything he puts out. i will always have insane respect for a man who puts aesthetics first in everything 🫡
i think lucas as a character is fine, he’s a blank canvas for dorothy to project all her feelings onto, and he goes along with everything she wants because he literally doesn’t have a mind of his own. and really, that’s why dorothy falls in love with him, she’s molding him into exactly thing that she wants. but that's still not good enough for her, and she makes it clear she’d trade him and sylvie for a corn chip if it got her out of oz.
roan on the other hand is…. complicated. he’s a liar, a killer, and crucially, he’s married to the person dorothy has sworn to take down. he’s the exact opposite of everything lucas is and stands for. he forces dorothy to look past what the wizard has been telling her, and does believe he’s doing the right thing for the baby witches. he’s also basically turned into play dough thats being passed back and forth between dorothy and glinda.
like he has his memories back but still doesn’t have a mind of his own, and is still relying on his partners to make decisions for him (although i'll be honest…. seeing him with glinda was insanely hot and i immediately stopped caring about dorothy. like when she told him “the man i loved would have gutted her, would have torn her open to protect me” that was hot.)
all of that should have been a set up for what an incredible blowup between the two but instead we just get two episodes of them moping around about each other. and then their story ends with a 5 minutes stab fight that ends with roan back on the cross where he began.
i’m sure s2 would have expanded their story line more, but i was still disappointed with his devolution the last 2 episodes
#asked/answered#also the best part of oliver being in his 20’s was that he constantly got paired up with milfs#emerald city#spoilers#< for a 7 yr old show but still

And on the gay level: Fiyero and Elphaba did have a bond, but in the book, their relationship was a brief one when both were young, him avoiding his arranged marriage and children at home (again, in a political context he never wanted/asked for, one of the main themes of the book), her drawn into her attraction despite her terror of it and her attempts to deny, once again, her own "soul," her ability to have those vulnerable, needing, innocent feelings that put her at his mercy. He died in a horrible way because of Elphaba's involvement in a political insurgency that ultimately accomplished nothing. She fixated on him out of guilt and shame and ultimately traveled to the Vinkus and imposed herself on his living family because of that reason. (His family also ultimately dies due to association with Elphaba.) Her identification of this dead man who she didn't really know that well with the Scarecrow was a psychological impulse borne out of a desire for a person she'd allowed to have deep intimacy with herself/her body, after a lifetime of aloneness and implied sexual assault, to not really be dead, for something to not really be "her fault".
Puffing it up into a magical romance is a silly and bizarre reaction to the original story, at least in my opinion, but then again it's an obvious and heterosexual impulse to flatten this relationship; even more so to actually have Fiyero be the fucking Scarecrow.
Additionally, the flattening of her relationship with Glinda and indeed Glinda's own political involvement in the regime is like... Silly to me, bizarre; Glinda herself is a political thinker--actually a political thinker from the time she's very young, given her close concern with a network of social contacts that Elphaba is totally ignorant of--and her story is also a story about helplessness in relationship to a dominating political scheme; by the time of book 2 or 3 in the Wicked series she is no longer a political agent, if she ever really was one: she did end up married to Chuffrey, a significantly older, rich, socially connected man--how consensually, if at all? Can we really argue that a political marriage for her is any more consensual than Fiyero's arranged marriage to Sarima? When she gave away Nessarose's shoes, was she really an agent, or just responding to a volatile political situation in which she had to act, and no choice would be the right one? By the end of her life, she is a literal prisoner and she is in her prison cell when she dies, an old, blind woman. She calls out to Elphaba when she dies:
In her cell, Glinda woke up with a start. The lumbago was more punishing than the incarceration, but a sense of spring had filtered all the way down the open canyon roof of Southstairs, and she caught a whiff of freshness, of arrogant possibility. Her glasses had broken a year ago. She didn't need them anymore, not really. She knew who was turning the door handle of her cell. She called her name sleepily, and added, "You wicked thing. You've taken your own sweet time, of course."
The pretense that Fiyero was the emotional center of her life in any way--they never even touched each other in the books; there was a rumor of an affair, but they had no interest in each other--when she literally believes Elphaba's spirit has come for her at the moment of her death is absolutely batshit insane. I will give the musical's authors that the last Wicked book came out in 2011 after the musical was already complete and staged; that being said, the seeds of this complex and serious emotional entanglement were already there. Elphaba and Glinda kiss in the book before Elphaba ever begins her affair with Fiyero, fwiw. Glinda's treatment in the musical is once again understandable given the goals of the adaptation, but also extremely disappointing and boring, and smushing her relationship and bond with Elphaba down into "Glinda gave her a makeover and they did a funny dance at the party together so they became besties :) but then they fought over the same boy and it was sad :( boo hoo" is like. Wowowowowowowowow.

favorite Wicked actresses? Both in terms of individual performance as well as pairings with great gelphie dynamics
i mean having a good gelphie dynamic is one of the requirements for being a fav of mine. uhh anyway...
Glinda
Katie Rose Clarke
Megan Hilty, Kara Lindsay Ginna Claire Mason
I'm sure I've forgotten a few tbh I haven't watched a bootleg show in ages. All is to say, I'm very particular about my Glinda's. Top spot has forever been KRC for me and I doubt that'll ever change soon. She just got Glinda. She just got her and the role so fucking well.
Elphaba
Far less picky tbh, bc the role is so multi-interpretable and it still makes sense. But top favorites are (in no particular order):
Willemijn Verkaik (🇳🇱-pride), Rachel Tucker, Eden Espinosa, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Jennifer DiNoia, Lindsay Mendez.
I saw Alexia Khadime this summer (live!) and she murdered No Good Deed, absolutely obliterated it. And if it's one thing that makes you instantly go on top of my Elphie list, it's killing NGD.
I want that song to be as imperfectly perfect as you can possibly make it. Go absolutely insane over it. Show me how fucked up Elphie's mental state is right now!! I want an Elphie who truly and utterly believes she's a villain now.
Uhhhh anyway, before i go completely into my NGD-rant... it takes a lot to make me dislike / not appreciate an Elphaba tbh. :)
