We were watching this scene (more or less)

At the same time my partner says something about Josh’s hair or something (actually can’t remember…) I said how the dress was a surprisingly good colour. This was followed by brief silence and then my brain caught up and I asked ‘what?’

They replied again and I realised they were talking about Josh.

Oh right, yeah, Josh is in that scene too!

I was not looking at Josh.

I was definitely not looking at Josh…

This is one of my other OCs from that AU I mentioned in the other post, he is Vex and he’s friends with Umbra and Midnight, they’re like a trio (although sometimes Vex feels like he’s third wheeling more than anything-) and he’s also the mechanic (all the humans got replaced by robots because Fazbear never learns-) so he’s often working in Parts and Services or whatever it’s called, my memory is crappy right now ;-;

(Edit: why tf did I call Vex’s coat a cape??)

Btw I made more drawings with him and a few other characters, because I love him so much 💜 (platonic)

Here I was messing with a brush and some effects, I don’t think I will ever rend my drawings like this ever again but it’s nice I guess.

This is another ship in my AU, yes there’s more ships and I regret nothing >:3 I’ll give you an hint of who this other silly could be, it starts with E and ends with clipse :>

Also Vex gets flustered very easily and it doesn’t help that Eclipse is a menace and flirts with him a lot-

Alright, first thing first, this is what I meant when I said he felt like he was third wheeling a lot, they literally start doing this stuff every time the three of them hang out.

Second thing, this was made mostly to experiment with lighting and drawing things that were a bit in the dark (I don’t know if I did fine for it so feel free to tell me if I should improve on something)

And for those who don’t know, I got inspired by another image for this drawing/meme so here’s the original (also I don’t know who made this since I found it on Pinterest so if you know please tell me and I will add their name and social here for those who are interested)

As you can see the dialogue here is a bit different from what I wrote because I wanted it to match with Vex’s character

Now…onto the last drawing :P

Very simple drawing with a little practice at drawing movements (which failed horribly) and a fun fact, Vex was in fact Nexus redesign, before I decided to quit the fandom and turn it into his own character since I didn’t want to waste it, also the tiny blue haired character is me :D

That’s it, if you couldn’t tell I really LOVE Vex and this AU in general, it’s making me want to yap even more about it, but I won’t say anything else for now, even if I REALLY want to keep yapping about it thanks to my autism, but all you’re going to know is that these characters are from the same AU and that there’s more…and it’s going to be turned into a comic, yes you heard that correctly, I didn’t have the motivation to do anything for months and yet the moment I start working on this AU it comes back on full force, yay I guess :’)

I’m still not sure about the name for the AU but for now it’s going to be “Mechanical Madness” and the tag will be something like #DCAmechanicalmadness

And no there’s no Y/N in this story, not even Neptune is here, so sorry for those who wanted a self insert story but this is one of the few AUs that doesn’t have that qwq

Science in HTTYD pt. 2: When Lightning (Shouldn't) Strike

Welcome back to science in HTTYD! Today's post focuses more on a misconception found in RoB :( but it's okay! This is an incredibly common misconception so I'm not surprised the writers thought it would make sense. As the title suggests, this post is about the RoB episode When Lightning Strikes.

To jog your memory, When Lightning Strikes is about lightning striking Berk at an insane rate due to the metal perches that are made above the houses. Hiccup himself is struck by lightning when he holds a metal rod up to the sky to prove that metal is the root of the problem (why he thought that was a good idea? Could not tell you).

The entire premise of the episode is incorrect, unfortunately, as lightning does not strike things because they are metal. It would make sense that a lot of people believe that is true, though, as we're taught from an early age that metal conducts electricity (this might also stem from lightning rods and how they're made of metal and struck by lightning, but that's to ensure conduction to the grounding rod). However, conductivity does not influence lightning striking an object.

There are three qualifications an object must meet in order for lightning to be drawn to it, and those are

isolation

thinness/pointiness

height

These qualities create a path of least resistance for the lightning bolt. Electric fields are strongest around sharp points (as they hold a higher amount of electric charges in a smaller area, which greatly increases charge density. Lightning loves that shit), and the isolation and height "eliminate competition" in a sense, as that means there aren't several electric fields to choose from/that merge together.

Therefore, the metal perches that Hiccup came up with shouldn't be a problem at all, as they're not isolated, not pointy, and are even able to ground the bolt assuming they're touching dirt. Hiccup getting struck, however, makes sense as he increased his height, thereby isolating himself, and holds a thin pointy object to the sky (Hiccup himself is also pretty thin so that doesn't help LOL).

And that's why I couldn't bring myself to watch the entire episode! LMAO but seriously, if you're going to make an episode based around a scientific principle at least make sure your principle is real!

As I continue to watch DoB and RTTE I'll be sure to make more science posts! I'll probably post about that one echolocation episode next. enderneverends out!

I wanna draw Queenie helping Kinger get over his hatred/fear of insects so fucking badly. Its so cute to think about. Id imagine thats when they started to fall in love. But in my headcannon they did this when they were in college. So that means I have to draw them as humans and I have no fucking idea how they would look. Especially as mid-20 year olds.

There is this human kinger design on tumblr that I love a LOT. But he's in his late 40s. How in the god damn would he look like in his mid-20s??? All I can say for certain is that hes blond, white, lanky as hell, and the poor bastard already has a receding hairline from how stressed he is all the time.

As for Queenie... idk. I think she would look a bit like Doctor Octavia from Spider-verse, but with a darker complexion. Particularly having messy, curly brown hair and long angular face. Id imagine she's tall, too. Lmao, what if shes actually taller than Kinger? Thatd be funny to think about. Not saying that Kinger is short. She's just that tall.

I suck at drawing humans; I end up making them look stiff. And im worried that I'll end up making some super bad looking designs if I drew the checkmates as humans. But god damnit, I am tempted.

What would you guys think about a Friday the 13th movie with a fully supernatural Jason?

We have seen him kinda supernatural when he came back from the dead and just a regular guy in the 2009 reboot (underrated film, one of my first horror movies so holds a special place in my heart) but we have never had him fully supernatural. They tried and failed with the concept in "Jason goes to hell" but i think it could really work if done right and do something new with the character.

Other than his regular powers just taken to another level and actually giving him teleportation they could maybe give him control of the land around camp crystal lake? It would be something new for him and could lead to some interesting kills.

Not sure if this would be a cool idea but I think if executed well it could work, what do you guys think?
