I did not catch this on first view, but I think Matt confirmed the connection between the Malleus Key and the Factorum Malleus in episode 48. During the dream Matt says the following to FCG at the 2:51:45 mark:

MATT: I will say, there's something about the machinery that is assembled around this tower, and it didn't quite hit you before, because you didn't quite get close enough to view it, but now that you have a moment, there is an odd familiarity to the way this design has been built and implemented around this spire.

Upon waking, FCG interprets this "familiarity" to be about the other automatons. This is partially because Sam was specifically asking to get a closer look at the Automatons, which Matt describes before saying this. However, Matt is clearly referring to the machinery built around the spire. Therefore, it's possible FCG was in Aeor when the Factorum Malleus was being constructed. At the very least, we know this is Aeorian technology. I think it's fair to assume that Matt's use of "Malleus" here is not one of his red herrings, or an example of him re-using a name, or Ludinus simply being inspired to name his machines after what the wizards of Aeor were building. There is a connection between the Keys Ludinus is building and the machine Aeor built to destroy the Gods.

When The Owl House first came out, there was a lot of discussion surrounding how King could potentially be Bill, with the most common theory being that Bill had somehow been reincarnated into King by the Axolotl. After all, not only does Alex Hirsch voice both of them, but the voice he uses for King is very similar to the voice he uses for Bill. (Very similar, but not the exact same; apart from not having the voice distortion, King's voice is higher pitched. King's voice is basically Bill's voice before Bill hit puberty, lmao.) Apart from that, both King and Bill are demons; King had an obsession with ruling, power, and conquest; King has yellow sclera; and, well, people were desperate for connections between Gravity Falls and The Owl House, to the point where I actually did end up pretty annoyed for awhile that people weren't letting The Owl House stand on its own two feet and were instead treating it like a sequel show. (Though there are actual, canonical connections between them now, the most notable being that Eda married Stan for less than 24 hours in Vegas so that she could rob him blind, lmao. He still thinks fondly of her to this day, as he should.)

I bring this up because I never really subscribed to this theory, or thought very much of it . . . until now. It's not that I think the theory is more plausible now, but more that I think that the idea holds a sort of poetic beauty to it now, if it was true. (Which again, I don't think it necessarily is, but more that it's a nice "what if" to think about.) And the reason for that comes from information that we gained from The Book of Bill, along with additional information that we've now gained from the website, along with how King's story arc developed and played out in The Owl House. (So, spoilers for that show, the new book, and the website if you haven't kept up with any of that.)

Essentially:

It's been heavily implied for years now (to the point where, in my personal opinion, it was known, but to be safe I'm saying heavily implied) that Bill destroyed his home dimension. In the show, Bill says that he "liberated" his home dimension, and when he brings it up, there is fiery imagery around him that is similar to the rift that opens in the sky to link Gravity Falls to the Nightmare Realm during Weirdmageddon. Then, in one of the spinoff books, when Dipper asks the Axolotl about Bill, the Axolotl says, "Saw his own dimension burn [. . .] blame the arson for the fire." Considering that Bill said that he "liberated" his dimension with fire imagery, and the Axolotl says that he saw his dimension burn (and blames the arson, rather than the arsonist for the fire) . . . the conclusion can easily be drawn that Bill's "liberation" was actually "destruction." Which makes sense, when you remember what he wanted to do to Earth during Weirdmageddon.

Nonetheless, we have had that confirmed now thanks to The Book of Bill and the website. We know that when Bill tries to recant what happened to his dimension, there is a loud ringing in his ears and he blacks out; we know that he looks "more distant than [Ford] had ever seen him" when he tries to recount the story to Ford (implying dissociation; we know that he told his henchmaniacs the "liberation" story and that he freaks out when Time Baby tries to speak openly about what actually happened and who actually caused it; and we know that, during his therapy sessions in the Theraprism, when the therapist tries to turn the discussion to his parents, he shuts down discussion altogether. (And also only draws red and blue triangles during his art sessions, implying that may be what his parents looked like.)

So we know that: Bill destroyed his own dimension, that he's the sole survivor of the massacre, that he was severely traumatized by this (because he didn't intend to massacre his entire people, he honestly was trying to help them see what he could see -- the third dimension) and that he just handled his trauma in the worst possible way, particularly since he did not have anyone left to give him a support system. A billion years without a proper support system or any form of healing, sinking further and further into denial, rationalization, and detachment (outlined on Bill's page on morality as his tools of the trade), lying until his lies were no longer lies to himself, made Bill into the monster he is today.

But then the Pines family defeated him (thanks to Stan), he invoked the name of the Axolotl, and got sent to the Theraprism. He hates it there, and he is so deeply entrenched in the lies-he-no-longer-recognizes-as-lies that he is not making any progress. As Alex said at one of the Barnes & Noble Q&As, what Bill really needs is to actually be honest with himself, but it's unknown if he will ever be able to do that. Until he can do that, the hope of him actually making progress at the Theraprism is nil.

But here is the thing about the Theraprism. Well, here are the two things about the Theraprism:

The first is that we are told that the Theraprism is a place specifically devoted to reincarnation. The reason why the "King is reincarnated Bill" theory was popular before was mostly due to the reasons I mentioned above, but also because of another line in the Axolotl's poem: "A different form, a different time." People understood this to mean reincarnation, and it's easy to see why. But for me personally, I always found it a bit strange that the Axolotl would simply let Bill reincarnate simply by calling out for help. Would that really be all it took for the Axolotl? True, the Axolotl is the god of this universe, and Jesus (from how I understand it) is all about "accept me as your savior and you're immediately absolved of all sins," but I also felt that was just too easy of a Get Out of Death Free card for Bill. It was a very clean getaway, considering everything.

But The Book of Bill makes it evident that isn't the case. As it is described by the Theraprism employee in the book:

"Here at the Theraprism, we believe death can be the beginning of a new life. With good behavior, former wizards, world-eating titans, and even Mr. Cipher have many exciting options for reincarnation -- perhaps as a newt, shrimp, or a cloud of fungal spores!"

The Axolotl also made this clear to Bill (though Bill misunderstood entirely:

"You cannot regrow through denial. You'll have to face my hardest trial. See my program to the end, then you may yet live again. You're getting what you need the most; one way to absolve your crimes, to change your form will take some time."

Now, many of you are probably thinking: a baby titan from the Boiling Isles is a huge leap from newts, shrimp, and fungal spores. I would agree with you; it seems that the Theraprism does tend to pick very lowly life forms for the big bads they rehabilitate to reincarnate into. But here are the reasons why I think it would be poetic if it were King, and therefore why I like to think that it would be nice if this were the case:

Like Bill, King is the last of his kind. Unlike Bill, this is through no fault of King's own; the other titans were wiped out before King even hatched, and King's father had to hastily inscribe runes to protect him from the titan hunters (or archivists?) so that they couldn't find and kill him as well by destroying his egg. Nonetheless, King is the sole survivor of a genocide and this is something that weighs heavily on him and influences his character arc in a big way in the second half of the show. The fact that he doesn't know what he is lends struggle to him trying to discover who he is. Yes, he's in a family of misfits, but Eda and Luz know what they are and who they come from. King doesn't have that. King has no basis for what he is, or why he was abandoned -- none of it. And then when he does finally start to get answers, it's to learn that his people were massacred in a genocide; that there are people still out there who want to kill him; that he is going to grow to be a deity-like figure, that he'll outlive those he loves . . . King is a child of about eight-years-old, but he has so, so much weighing on him already.

But where Bill accidentally destroyed his dimension and killed everyone in it, and then was crushed under the weight of that trauma because he was left alone and covered in blood, King did have that family of misfits to support and love him through it all. He was still burdened by the fact that he didn't know what he was or where he came from, but Eda, Hooty, Luz, and eventually Lilith gave him unconditional love and a home and support to figure all of that out, to the point where it was King's idea to be formally adopted by Eda and change his name to King Clawthorne. And while he will eventually outlive them all, he made a friend in The Collector who is also immortal, so he'll never be truly alone.

Essentially, what I'm getting at here is: there are parallels in Bill's and King's story, now that we know Bill's backstory. They aren't the exact same, especially since King was not responsible for what happened to the other titans. But there are still parallels that can be made. But whereas things ended as badly as they could possibly end up for Bill, King's story had a much better ending. So if we imagine that Bill was reincarnated as King, then it is almost like he got a do-over. Like he was put in a similar situation, but this time he was found by a new adoptive mother who raised him with love and care, and got an adoptive big sister, and owl tube house mate, and aunt, as well as a ton of friends. He suffered trauma, but this time he didn't have to suffer it alone, and was able to handle it in a much better, much healthier way. Yes, he's an all-powerful demon (or at least, he will be someday, when he grows into an adult). But this time he isn't going to be causing any apocalypses, or delighting in any mortal suffering. This time, things are going to be different for him, because his soul completed the Axolotl's program in the Theraprism and he was able to reincarnate for that second chance.

(And if you're thinking, "But The Owl House doesn't take place that long after Gravity Falls, so how is that possible?" Well, the Theraprism exists outside of time and space, so it doesn't matter how many millennia it takes for Bill to complete the program. He literally has all the time in the multiverse.)

So I'm on board with this theory now. Again, I do not think it's canon. But it's a nice idea, and one that I think has a poetic sweetness to it. No one has to agree, of course, but that's just my take on it.

The Failure of Corruption in Heroes

So, here's the thing with MHA: when it first started, it made a lot of promises to the readership; there's Izuku becoming a hero, of course, but I'm talking more about the unstated promises, about the themes that were presented to us, which are as much the reason I got as into the story as I did as the characters were. A lot of these themes, over time, have fallen to the wayside, and today I'm talking about one I mention again and again: corruption in heroics.

I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that early on this was one of the biggest themes we were shown, and one that presented as early as the first chapter, no less.

From Mt. Lady kill stealing for glory, to Stain getting a cult following for killing the "corrupt" (more on my contempt for Stain later), heroic corruption was referred all over early on, and even now, in the grim post war era it still clings to life.

Here's the problem: where are the corrupt heroes?

I can count, on one hand, all of them: there's three who are on screen for more than five minutes, Endeavour, Hawks, and Lady Nagant. There's aso that mole for the MLF that get picks up before the raid who is there for about a minute.

And... that's it.

I mean, that's three and a half examples; that seems pretty good, right? The thing is that this problem isn't supposed to be an aberration, it's supposed to be systemic. Stain murders people, and one speech seems to give him a cult following, to the point where he has merch. This is something that almost every major villain talks about; this is supposed to be a lot more prevalent than Endeavour and the Hero Commissions barely expanded on black ops squad.

Where's the heroes taking bribes, or working with small time villains? Where the abuse of power? Where are all the other abusive spouses? Where is all the typical things you'd expect of a corrupt law enforcing institution?

On top of that, there was a focus early on about what heroes meant, but after awhile that petered out as well.

One of the big things of MHA, you see, is that hero is a multifaceted word in setting; it refers to people who save people, yeah. It's also a job, though, one with massive influence, merchandising, public accolades and presumably income.

Izuku, early one, seemed like he'd be the one to... redeem heroics, take them back to their more vigilante roots of just helping people rather than having it as some big popularity contest... which it honestly is? We don't really know what metrics go into ranking heroes, which honestly is probably a damaging concept in itself, but it seems to be heavily involved with the public perception of said heroes, if not completely coming from it.

We had a nice contrast to Izuku, to show this grey area, with Bakugou, who wanted to be rich and famous, Ochako, who wanted money for her family, and just the way UA itself operates at times, with things like the Sports Festival being as much about branding as anything else, and the heroes in the first chapter just standing around instead of trying to save the child dying in front of them.

And the thing is, all of that is a good setup for Izuku, as an audience proxy, to start getting past his blind hero worship and start questioning the system he wants to be a part of; not just how it fails the regular people, but also how it preys on heroes themselves, but it just never happens. That grey area starts fading away over time.

I think it was supposed to be sparked by Stain, at some point into something more, and in story, that's apparently what happened. In reality...

Yeah... about Stain. He has a point, in theory. He's a crazy serial killer, but he's not completely wrong. In practice though? He's supposed to hunt the corrupt. We... we don't see that. Almost all the heroes he's attack have been, at best, names, and then there's Tensei, who I'll get to in a second. If these are corrupt heroes, shouldn't we... hear about that? That they were threatening people, maybe, or taking bribes, or... something, to spark these attacks? And that's not even getting into Tensei, who, from everything we've seen in the spin off, was honestly the ideal kind of hero, kind, helpful, inspirational.

So, it's weird that Stain is attacking him, right?

Actually, not really. Stain has this idealized view of heroes, where if they aren't All Might, society's vision of the ideal hero and someone he almost literally worships, they aren't worth living, and that's why he falls flat as this big symbol of societies darkness or whatever; attacking heroes for failing to be heroic, for doing bad shit, is one thing, something that makes his takes more valid. What he's actually doing is attacking everyone that doesn't meet his personal vision of perfection, which pretty much invalidates whatever is left of his point once you got past all the murdering.

And then, as if to lampshade how much he doesn't work, Hori gets rid of him right after, and after maybe ten chapters he almost never comes up again.

So why is it like this? This is something I brought up when I talked about the League, if approached from the other direction: Hori is afraid of his heroes being wrong, and while he makes the villains always seem wrong to discredit them, he also makes his heroes always seem right so they seem infallible. At this point, I'm not sure if he chickened out part way through his writing, or editors or the industry stopped him, or he just never meant to go in depth into all of this, but so much of the story revolves around the idea that heroes are imperfect.

But we don't see that.

Can you imagine how much harder all the Stain stuff would have hit, for example, if every time he attacked someone he leaked an exposé on who he attacked and why? If every 'victim' he attacked turned out to be a criminal in their own right? And, I feel like I'm doing Tensei dirty by saying this, but imagine the development for Iida if he finds out his brother, his beloved brother he looked up to, was bad? Did bad things? Maybe even, dare i say deserved to be attacked? How his internal debate over taking up the name Ingenium would have looked?

Or when Momo is apprenticed to a hero who spends all her time on fashion shows and commercials, if she said, 'No, I became a hero to save people, not to sell out', and took a stand against a woman who seemed to be almost using her to make a quick buck .

Or... anything, really.

Because for this big, systemic issue, all we really have is Endeavour, who Hori started engaging in Initial D worthy U-Turns to try and salvage the perception of his character almost immediately after he was introduced. Less than a year of in story after it started, no non-villain ever says an unkind word about him any more because he's apparently changed that much. We also have Hawks and the Commission pulling his strings, but since they were killed off off screen that's just... better now, apparently, and we should never talk about them ever again even if the organization itself is still there, and Lady Nagant who, as a character introduced Post War, by default barely even exists.

Oh, and you know, Post War itself. Let me sum up how Post War talked about heroic corruption in the press conference shortly after it begins:

Hawks: Ah, yes, cold-bloodedly executing Twice really tore me up. Deep inside.

*pats chest*

Right here.

Reporter: ...Your heart is on the other side of your body. That's so far to the side... there's nothing important even there.

Hawks: And?

Reporter: Endeavour! Endeavour! What do you say to critics who cite... *checks notes* ...Your entire existence?

Endeavour: Watch me.

Reporter: What? What does that have to do with-

Endeavour, louder: Watch me!

Reporter: But what abou-

Endeavour, screaming now as he burns down the podium: WATCH ME!!!!

Hawks, under orders, joined a bunch of villains for months, apparently killed someone to get entry, blended enough that only a perpetually paranoid shell of a human being saw through his act, and killed a man on national television.

Endeavour was so desperate for success that he married a woman to breed her like she was cattle, and discarded every child she bore like a particularly jaded gatcha player until he got the proxy he desired for his ambitions.

I know I hammed up the responses a lot, but their answers to these problems answered nothing, solved nothing, and barely acknowledged anything, yet it was presented to us as, well, important, like it helped show how sorry they are, and how much they really mean that they'll do better this time, honest.

And this is the pinnacle of the supposed corruption in the later parts of the story, since stuff was theoretically happening off screen, while Lady Nagant showed up and repented in a matter of minutes.

The thing is, for this big, corrupt system, one that is failing so badly that it's collapsing, we never really see the corruption. It's only there, conveniently, so it can provide backstories to motivate the villains, and then vanishes. Meanwhile, all the heroes are, to a man, woman, and apprentice, blindingly Good, willing to sacrifice themselves for the cause (or for Hori's fan favorite), or at worst willing to quit when they don't think they can do it anymore, and that doesn't seem particularly corrupt, now does it?

You can tell us until you're blue in the face about how the heroic industry is flawed, Hori, but until you actually show us these flaws, it'll only fall flat.

Repost: Ask on What Has Made BTS Stand Apart From and Outperform Other K-pop Groups

The easiest way to answer you would be to do a compare and contrast with other k-pop groups but that’s also the quickest way to get my blog taken down loool. Instead, this will be a long post as I’ll be posting a few screenshots with more than a few rants in between.

I’m getting a bit tired of people asking this question (but if you have any follow up questions, please send them my way :)). Mostly because oftentimes, the people asking it are entirely uninterested in the answers provided by both BTS and ARMY, and instead revert to their own theories for why BTS is BTS, and yet they continue to wonder why virtually no other k-pop group can mirror their trajectory despite the extravagant budgets, industry privilege, and more recently, being able to leverage the increased visibility BTS’s success has brought to the k-pop industry in recent years (if you’d like to take their own government’s word for it). The fact is, many k-poppies and Western commentators on k-pop, think in a certain way about the relationship k-pop artists have with their music, themselves, their agency, and their fans. BTS has been an anomaly for much of their career precisely because many of those ideas largely don’t apply to them, yet too many k-pop fans continue using those frameworks to try to explain BTS and wonder why they keep coming up short. It’s equal parts frustrating and amusing to see if I’m being completely honest. If it were merely great marketing tactics (since every group works hard you know) and ‘crazy’ fans, there’d be at least 8 groups exactly as big as BTS is right now, if not bigger. But there isn’t. And this is why people keep asking this question.

I wrote a post some days ago here and the first section (The Story) describes one big factor I think sets BTS apart: their authenticity.

So, what more does BTS have

1. BTS makes incredibly good music.

1b. There’s no other group that makes music that I consistently love, and most other armys will tell you a similar thing. Some k-pop groups certainly make music I like, but I personally have to go outside k-pop to find peers to BTS. For example, I love ONE OK ROCK, Twenty One Pilots and to a lesser degree, Pentatonix, about as much as I love BTS (sort of). No other k-pop group’s music comes even close and I listen to *a lot* of k-pop music. There just happens to be *a lot* of people who listen to k-pop and appear to agree rather than disagree with me about how good, addictive, and exactly tailored to our preferences, BTS’s music is.

2. Since the beginning, BTS set themselves apart and this is an undisputable fact. They were seen as refreshingly different right from the start, despite the very obvious sabotage maneuvers non-Big 3 groups often had to deal with, and so they were recognized for quality music and performances right away. A lot of groups take at least a year before they get similar reviews. I found a forum from 2013 of people discussing their debut stage:

I personally found it hilarious how this person just says “Jimin” and leaves it at that. Jimin was and is incredible.

3. Please see my previous post linked above for more examples of their authenticity - the group’s early rap music focus played a huge role here imo.

4. Fan loyalty. This is something encouraged for every k-pop group because of how the industry primarily functions. The k-pop industry has more in common with the Premier League than it does with its Western music counterparts because of how competition and fan participation is strongly highlighted in both cases. Fans are encouraged to vote daily on choeaedol, weekly on Inkigayo, and annually at various award shows as just one example.

But obviously, Armys go beyond that and I’ve sat through several patronizing lectures and diatribes from k-pop fans and Western commentators trying to explain to me why I, till now, request BTS’s music at my local radio station. Fan loyalty is the most annoying thing to talk about with non-armys because very quickly the conversation becomes very infantilizing because for anybody on the outside, thinking that fans simply love the music so much they want as many people to know about it, is simply too good to be true. Armys’ tactics aren’t unique to us. We’re not really doing anything other k-poppies or music fans aren’t, but we are certainly more focused and organized about it. This is because very early on, we realized this was the only way to get BTS’s music out there, to give them the recognition we think they deserve.

Coupled with just how fantastic I think BTS’s music is, there was also the very annoying phenomenon, spanning years, of the k-pop industry and fans of other groups, being disproportionately hostile to BTS simply because they were different. Fans of Exo and other k-pop groups for example, filed a petition with The Blue House - the executive office and official residence of the Republic of Korea’s head of state - to intervene after BTS won one of the most prestigious music awards in Asia. Please read that again. A lot of people tend to dismiss just how bad things were up until very recently (I’d say 2019 or so) but you can’t fool millions of people at the same time. A lot of us have eyes, can see and read, and were active online in k-pop circles at this time (2013 - 2019) and witnessed first hand how ridiculous it was. I regularly got (and still do sometimes) gore, graphic images of suicide attempts and vomit in my DMs from k-pop fans who thought BTS were the worst things to happen since non-skip ads. This is not all that unusual in some fandom spaces unfortunately, but what really upset many Armys like me was how the boys were openly ridiculed in newspapers and online news outlets in Korea. We saw BTS’s agency try tactic after tactic to first mitigate for these issues within traditional k-pop structures before eschewing those structures altogether to build spaces exclusively for BTS and Army, which only further solidified Army’s fan loyalty to BTS. It wasn’t until the fandom’s size exploded in recent years, just as BTS’s success no longer had an asterisk associated with it in Korea (it’s still on their international success) that a lot of this hostility has reduced somewhat because Armys have the numbers to overwhelm just about anyone.

BTS makes widely different types of music almost every two years. BTS in 2014 sounds almost nothing like BTS in 2016 and almost nothing like BTS in 2019 and so on. This has the effect of casting a very wide net to attract all kinds of music fans. So the sort of fans they attracted in 2015, get exposed to their new music in 2017, some fans might like it and stay or some might not like it and leave (but still listen to BTS’s older music) - more often than not, fans like their music in every era because of how they deliver it. And this process repeats itself, and the fandom keeps getting wider as a result. (My little hypothesis).

EDIT for a point I forgot to highlight about how different, ambitious, and satisfying their music was (and is) for a lot of people with a little bit of history first: The modern k-pop scene today would have never happened if not for a group called Seo Taiji and the Boys - a group that debuted in 1992. This is one group widely acknowledged to have revolutionized k-pop as we know it today, through their genre-bending music (imagine Korean trot and East Coast hip hop), heavy influence of hip hop and rap music, scathing social commentary in their music, and inclusion of hip hop dance styles. In fact one of the members went on to make YG Entertainment. This is one reason it came as a surprise to nobody that Seo Taiji (the guy himself not the other *sus members) acknowledged BTS and named BTS as their successors in 2017 who would “herald a new era in the k-pop music scene”. No other k-pop group has received an acknowledgement like this from their domestic pioneers. Seo Taiji invited BTS to perform with them at their 25th anniversary concert which happened just before BTS released their Love Yourself: Her album in 2017 and BTS received their first American award also that year. Everything else that happened on the international scale for BTS from that point, seemed almost inevitable. 

6. The content and delivery of their music is what drew a lot of people in, and a lot of those people stayed for the members.

BTS members have very dynamic personalities which are very *very* different from each other, which makes even their most mundane interactions interesting to watch, in my opinion. It’s plain to see they take their craft very seriously, actually like each other (listen to how J-Hope sings Hangsang for example - even in his solo mixtape, he’s talking about how much he likes BTS members and how they intend to take over the world as seven - this is a mixtape from 2018 when they considered disbanding and is made without company intervention), and are a bit peculiar in their own way. For a lot of Armys, it’s just enjoyable to watch them, and as we’ve grown up with them, there’s something comforting about seeing someone you connected with mature alongside you. BTS’s agency records a lot of auxiliary content showing the members in crazy and ordinary scenarios which helps fans feel more connected to the members. The way BTS’s agency releases this sort of content is very controlled and deliberate, and many Armys have figured out how to navigate these releases in ways that work for them.

Ending thoughts:

If I were to sum up BTS’s appeal, I would say it’s down to 4 things: (1) all seven men are incredibly talented and make some of the best music in the industry - BTS today, quite honestly, does not have a weak link. (2) They’re less loud about it these days, but there’s a sincerity in their music and its delivery that’s impossible to miss. (3) They’re hot as hell. (4) There’s a core of the fanbase that has experienced everything about them, the good and the bad, in real time, and every single one of those experiences has led to those fans gaining more respect for BTS or liking them more. Some fans leave, but in my experience, that core only continues to grow.

BTS is just that good.

Summary Luke asks the reader what love languages are.

I haven’t really written on Tumblr before so don’t judge too harshly because there’s some insanely talented people on here who might judge hahaha. (hopefully not though) I don't know what the boy’s love languages are so I kind of just assumed based off of what we saw but I did see somewhere that someone said Luke’s was touch so I just went with it.

You were seated peacefully on the couch as you worked away on your laptop while listening to Julie and the guys practice a few songs for this weekend’s upcoming gig. You always loved listening to them practice, they sounded like absolute angels and you would never get tired of listening to them. However, Luke thought you should be doing your homework somewhere else because he didn’t want them to be distracting to you but truthfully, you really didn’t mind. If you were being honest, it actually helped you focus and the music didn’t let your brain wander. 

You glanced up at the group after realizing they had stopped playing. Julie met your eyes with a warm smile, already reading your mind,

“We’re just taking a break. I got to catch up on some homework.” Julie explained to her best friend. You nodded in response, smiling slightly as she went back to work. The boys were talking amongst themselves over by the piano, using hushed voices so whatever they were talking about you or Julie couldn’t hear. 

By some weird magical notion, you were able to see the boys even when they weren’t playing like Julie could. They haven’t been able to figure out why yet, though. Why you could see the guys but their other best friend, Flynn, couldn’t. Or why Luke’s parents couldn’t see him either but you still could. It was all just one big mystery they were all still unravelling. They had a theory that it had something to do with their unfinished business and the connections they all shared with one another, but that was yet to be explored with you and the boys. Julie and the boys sort of figured out how they were connected, but they hadn’t gotten that far with you yet. 

Julie made an attempt one time to suggest that maybe it was because you were so close with Luke ever since you guys met, the connection just helped you see all of them, but you chose to deny that theory. Especially when Julie threw the word feelings into the mix. Julie knew all too well about your “little”crush on the lead guitarist. There was no doubt that she caught on to it right away when the pair first met and hit off right away. From there, she proceeded to question you about it once they went back to her room. Of course you denied, denied, denied, but after awhile you finally gave in and agreed to your best friend’s observation. Julie saw all the looks that you two exchanged and she knew very well about the boys talking about you here and there. It was just a matter of time until one of you finally broke and admitted your stupid feelings for one another.

“Hey..Y/n?” The cautious voice made you glance up from your computer, first looking at Julie thinking it was her who called your name but then turning your head to the boys who were glancing at you with quizzical looks. 

“Yeah?” You ask glancing at Luke since he was the one who spoke up. You watch as the boys exchange a glance with one another and you push your eyebrow up in confusion. You meet eyes with Julie for a moment who was now looking between the boys and you just as confused as you were. 

“We have a question.” 

“Well, Luke does, but we’re curious too.” Alex cut in before you could respond. You chuckle slightly at their visible nervousness about what they wanted to ask. 

“Okay, shoot.” You gave them your full attention, pushing your computer screen down and a small smile sat content on your lips. Julie also gave them her full attention too, because she was equally as curious as to what they could possibly be asking you.

“What..what does love languages mean? We heard you and Julie talking about it yesterday..” Luke’s asks softly. Oh. That was what they were asking..Your face goes a little red at the thought of them hearing your conversation yesterday since it started out as band schedule and then led into your crush per usual. You glanced to Julie for help who only shook her head with a quick shrug.

“They asked you, not me. Take it away, sister.” Julie laughed and your face went even redder. It wasn’t an inappropriate question or anything, you just didn’t really know how to describe it. Or because it meant talking about feelings and relationships which was something you didn't really want to get into with them, especially Luke. 

“Uhh.. well.. I guess it’s a certain way somebody likes to express their love for someone. There’s different types of love languages like um, touch, words, gifts, spending time with that person, and doing nice things I guess..” You trail off slightly while scratching the back of your head, feeling a little flustered. 

“What do you think my love language is?” Alex asks excitedly, not really to you but just to anyone who would answer him. 

“I see yours being affirming words or something like spending time with them. You always love it when someone compliments you and reassures you if you’re having too much anxiety about something.” Julie cuts in with a smile and Alex points to her to say she was correct. Julie chuckles and you do too. 

“Reggie, yours would definitely be gifts or like spending time with people. You always like to hang around Ray and stuff.” You say glancing at Reggie who smiles warmly at your statement. 

“What about me?” You met eyes with Luke who was softly looking at you. You avoided Julie’s burning gaze into your head and Alex and Reggie’s small smirks as they waited for you to answer. You flushed again, looking to Julie for help who only shrugged. They both knew you knew the answer, that was what you guys had been talking about yesterday. 

“I’m..I’m not really sure..” You lied and you hated the small hint of disappointment in Luke’s eyes. You quickly looked away and started to reopen your laptop.

“Hey, I’m hungry, I’m gonna grab some snacks. Y/n do you wanna come with?” Julie asks making an escape for you to avoid the now awkward tension in the room.

“Yeah. Yeah.” You were quickly nodding your head and jumping up from your laptop. You didn’t even wait for Julie as you made a beeline for the garage doors and pushed them open, hurrying up the pathway to Julie’s house. 

Julie exchanged a knowing glance with the boys, reading Alex and Reggie’s glances before following after you saying you’d be back in a minute. You were pacing around on the patio when Julie finally got to you. She raised her eyebrows slightly trying to read your thoughts. 

“Y/n, why did you lie? That could have been the perfect opportunity to tell him how you feel.” Julie says and you shoot her a small glare. 

“Julie, he doesn’t like me like that. I just didn't want to embarrass myself but I guess I embarrassed myself even more by saying nothing.” You admit, slowing your pacing to look Julie in the eye. She lets out a small laugh.

“I don’t think you embarrassed yourself. You were just flustered which is understandable, but I say go for it. You never know what can happen. The Y/n I know doesn’t back down from a challenge either.” Julie puts a comforting arm on your shoulder and you were thankful for it. You squeeze her hand in response.

“Thanks. I don’t know, I guess I’ve just never felt this way about someone before..” You trail off and Julie squeezes your shoulder even tighter,

“Look, I get it, it’s scary, but you can do it. Think of this as me encouraging you to talk to him like you did for me and Nick. Just go for it. Have some confidence.” Julie winked at you and you chuckle at her actions. 

“There’s the Y/n I know. Now come on, we still need to get snacks. I gotta make my lie somewhat believable.” Julie nudged your side before making her way inside as you followed after he with a laugh. 

The two of you walk back into the garage a few moments later where the boys met your glances. Luke was now moved onto your spot on the couch while Alex and Reggie hung around by the piano still. You rolled your eyes that Luke took your spot but at least he was gracious enough to move your computer. You walked over to him where he smirked as you made an attempt to move him out of the way. 

“Get out of my spot.” You tease trying to move Luke out of the way again but he didn’t budge and instead kept holding that smirk on his lips. You rolled your eyes so you instead took a seat beside him and grabbed your laptop from the coffee table. 

“I’ll move if you tell me what you think my love language is.” Luke says and you quickly met his eyes. You glanced at Alex, Reggie, and Julie for a moment where they only shrugged. You huffed under her breath knowing you had no way out of this now. 

“I don’t know.” You say simply trying to get off of the topic but Luke kept pushing. He leaned in closer towards you and you could feel his breath on your neck. 

“I think you do..” Luke says and you meet his gaze again. You purse your lips together before glancing back at your computer for a moment. 

“Touch.” You say plainly and simply. You refused to meet Luke’s eyes as you furthered your answer, “I always noticing you touching Alex or Reggie in one way or another. Whether it’s something small or a hug or just a reason to touch them. It’s sweet.” You finish a small smile on your lips as you opened the tab you had been working on previously. A comfortable silence filled the room and you felt pretty content with your answer. It wasn't as bad or as embarrassing as you thought it would be. Luke was silent beside you and you were afraid to look at him so you just kept her gaze on your computer. 

You didn’t actually know if you could touch the boys, you just assumed you couldn’t because Julie was the only one with the real special powers. You had just been randomly gifted parts of them somehow. You all just walked around each other because the guys found it slightly weird to just walk through people they knew. Luke stared at you beside him and he wanted to at least try. If anything, his hand would just fall through like it did with everyone, so slowly and carefully, Luke reached out to turn your chin so you would look at him. The guys raised his eyebrow at his movements and then, he touched you. 

You felt his hand under your chin and you both did a double take. Luke quickly pulled his hand away in surprise that you actually felt that. The two of you exchanged a wondering and surprised glance. 

“We just touched..”

Rei has hit on you, sending flirty one-liners your way, since the moment you met so there was no issue with letting you know how he feels. He’s rather upfront about what he wants from the relationship as well, almost as if it’s a business deal of some sort, but his charm has you quickly ignoring the brutal honesty of it all. 

12. ♥ Do they seek to find a partner purely to further the bloodline and name, is it for true love, or is it for pleasure alone?

As far as he’s concerned his bloodline is already pretty much secure, so pleasure-seeking is the way to go. Whether he has hang ups on his wife is hard to tell as the man doesn’t divulge much emotional information to you but you knew he still holds her in high esteem. Rei still respects you a little more than the average person he sleeps with and tries to help you in little ways get what you want from life, like helping you secure an apartment for a great price or getting you a well-paying job that you’d been trying to get for awhile. He still says it’s only pleasure but it’s to hide the growing emotional attachment he feels for you. 

13. ♥ Do they sleep in the same bed/room as much as they can or do they sleep separately?

Rei rarely ever seems to sleep over your house, in and out at all hours of the night to go about his shady business. You never really minded at first as your relationship with him wasn’t exactly conventional but you can’t help but long for something more. It would be nice to have Rei hold you for awhile after sex rather than just disappearing but again, you knew what you were getting into so you couldn’t hold that over his head. The nights he does sleep in (and you actually wake up to him in the morning) are such pleasant surprises that it keeps you hooked, not knowing that he’s doing so because he can see it’s what you want. 

Jinguji Jakurai:

It’s a little difficult for Jakurai to express his feelings when he truly doesn’t believe he deserves to have you in any capacity but he’s very caring towards you, hoping to be a pillar of strength for you in your time of need. He shows that he cares about you through his actions, from scolding you for not eating or sleeping right, taking care of any minor wounds, talking to you when you need someone, etc. 

12. ♥ Do they seek to find a partner purely to further the bloodline and name, is it for true love, or is it for pleasure alone?

Jakurai has absolutely no concern about furthering his bloodline, he even considers that it might be best if it ended with him for a variety of reasons. He supposed pleasure alone relationships are good in theory but he was a man who liked a little more when it came to his rendezvous, even if he had slept with a person who had truly intrigued him here and there. Romantic love is also something that has evaded Jakurai for quite some time, even if he wanted it he didn’t believe he deserved it, so he supposed it would be easier to just say he was a man meant to be alone. 

13. ♥ Do they sleep in the same bed/room as much as they can or do they sleep separately?

Jakurai, with his often long shifts at the hospital, tends to sleep there more often than he sleeps at home. He’s not exactly happy about it but there wasn’t much he could do when he was needed, especially during the holidays where more accidents tended to occur. That makes getting to sleep together in the same bed a real gift, Jakurai’s arms wrapping around you as he pulls you to his chest and reminds you of how lucky he feels to have even reached this point with you (and thanking you for your patience with him and his work schedule). 

Nurude Sasara:

The man nervous sweats around you like there’s no tomorrow, awkwardly laughing when it’s pointed out and desperately fanning himself in an attempt to cool down. You throw him so remarkably off balance it was hard for him to find a way to approach you, considering doing a comedy bit of some sort (it was his love language) while also knowing the point of it could easily go over your head. He jokes enough about wanting to date you or take you out that you start to see it’s more like he’s voicing a ‘what if...?’ scenario than regular jokes. 

12. ♥ Do they seek to find a partner purely to further the bloodline and name, is it for true love, or is it for pleasure alone?

Pleasure is easiest, better than being stuck in a loveless marriage just to have some kid that grows traumatized from the fact their parents clearly don’t love each other. Sasara is wary of truly putting himself out there, of forming a real bond with a person because it gives them all the power in the world to hurt him from the inside, but he thinks in his ideal world he could have a loving relationship with a person who understands him well. Someone who he wouldn’t have to be just comedian Nurude Sasara or Division Leader Nurude Sasara, just Nurude Sasara. 

13. ♥ Do they sleep in the same bed/room as much as they can or do they sleep separately?

Sasara absolutely wants to sleep in the same room as you. There’s no way he spent all these years pining before making a move just to have to be separate from you, if anything, this is exactly what he was working towards. Getting to curl up with a lover while you’re both sleepy, giggling over absolute nonsense, chatting casually about the day you had before slowly drifting off to sleep in each others arms... It’s a little more romantic than he normally thinks but he wants a love like that, one where he can feel secure that his partner wants him there.

Two BSD Theories

I’m bored at the moment, so I decided to write out a couple theories I’ve had about Bungou Stray Dogs bouncing around in my head for awhile now. I don’t know if anyone else has put similar theories out there yet, and apologize if these things have already been said!

1) Atsushi’s ability was inherited from his parent

This thought came to me after watching Dead Apple (again) and while reading about Tsujimura’s ability. Tsujimura gained her ability from her mother with the same technique that Kyouka’s mother used to pass Demon Snow to Kyouka (it seems Tsujimura’s mother actually taught this technique to Kyouka’s mother). Tsujimura cannot fully control her ability, and it usually activates automatically following the final command from her mother to kill anyone that Tsujimura is trying to kill before she can do it. Likewise, when we first meet Kyouka, she cannot control Demon Snow, it’s activated by someone giving her instructions through the cell phone that her mother gave her. It’s only after joining the Armed Detective Agency and, thus, becoming subject to Fukuzawa’s ability (and then some therapy via learning what really happened the night her parents were killed) that she’s able to gain control. 

This is interesting because aside from Atsushi, these are the only two characters we’ve met that possess activatable abilities and cannot control them. Passive ability users like Q and Dazai don’t really count because their abilities are triggered by some form of physical contact and is, basically, always on. They can only control the ability by controlling their interactions with others (**Side note, I’ve seen it mentioned that people think Dazai is the only passive ability user in BSD, which is not true. We know from the incident where Q is kidnapped by the guild that Q cannot stop people from going insane if they’ve caused Q physical injury otherwise Q would’ve stopped the whole thing. It’s the same way as how Dazai can’t stop someone’s ability from being nullified if they touch him, there’s no OFF switch. I’m pretty sure, from what we know of All Men Are Created Equal, that Fukuzawa’s ability is also passive**). The other exception is Chuuya when he unleashed the true form of his ability, but he’s such a special case, we can’t consider him.

All of the other characters in the show seem capable of controlling their ability without much training or external assistance. It’s almost like a second nature to them, because they kind of act as extensions of the ability user’s self. But Atsushi seemed so disconnected from his ability that he didn’t even realize he had one when it activated and, like Kyouka, needed to be brought in under Fukuzawa’s ability in order to gain control of it. 

The other evidence of this is in Dead Apple, when it’s revealed that Atsushi was subject to experimentation by Shibusawa. It’s mentioned that the government is interested in Atsushi because they’ve heard rumors that his ability is super special, and they want Shibusawa to figure out his ability, what it is and how it works. This was far from being the most confusing moment in Dead Apple, but it did raise several questions for me. The most glaring being: if no one knows what Atsushi’s ability is, how do they know that it’s super special? Unless, he’s not the first person to have this ability. The other question I have is how he ended up at the orphanage after “killing” Shibusawa, when the government clearly had a keen interest in him? Did they think, “oh he’s just a tiger”, and dumped him on an unsuspecting home for children, like...wtf? BSD Japan’s government does some incredibly shady and stupid things. But that’s not important here.

Finally, Fyodor’s reason for being interested in Atsushi is because he states that the white tiger can be used to find the infamous Book. Similar to the government, how would Fyodor know this unless someone possessed the ability before Atsushi?

While there could be other explanations for how the government knew about Atsushi’s ability being special, there’s not much that can explain how Fyodor knows that it can be used to find the book (though, it’s possible he lied about that entirely just to get the Guild to target the ADA), and when we take into account what we know about Kyouka and Tsujimura, and that abilities can be passed to relatives, the simplest explanation would seem to be that Atsushi inherited his ability from one of his parents. We’ve also learned nothing about where Atsushi came from and how he came to be an orphan (though, you know, we haven’t really learned a lot about most of the BSD characters. Like, where are the Tanizaki siblings parents, and how did Kenji, only 14 years old and clearly from a happy home environment, end up with the ADA). Because so much has been made of Atsushi being special amongst ability users, I can’t help expecting that we’ll learn more about his past and that we’ll get the reveal that his ability was inherited from his parent.

2) Asagiri has already given us the ending to BSD

This one is less evidence based and more wishful thinking because it would make for a nice symmetry, bringing everything full circle...even though I really don’t want this ending. This also might be more of a crack theory than anything, but hear me out. Beast is not an Alternate Universe, it is, in fact, the ending of the Bungo Stray Dogs main story line, and the current canon is just the events leading up to Dazai getting his hands on the Book and using it to create the world of Beast. That’s it. That’s the theory. I’ve got nothing to back this up. I’m sorry not sorry for putting that dark thought out into the world.

Dating George Weasley Would Include

Let’s get one thing straight, it doesn't matter what house you're in

Sure, it would be a bonus if you were in Gryffindor because that would mean he wouldn't have to sneak into your common room to be with you

If he loves you, he loves all of you

The reason you and George are together is all thanks to Fred 

He had grown sick and tired of George constantly talking about you 

How pretty you were 

How nice you smelled 

How he felt butterflies every time you smiled at him 

The boy must have been in-love or something

On the other hand, Fred had found out you had feelings for George by constantly bugging you on the subject till you cracked and told him

Being the oblivious pair George and you were, neither of you had realised the others feelings 

This is when Fred decided to take matters into his own hands 

His plan consisted of locking both you and George in a janitors closet until you both confessed your feelings 

He had told you guys to meet him in this particular closet for an emergency meeting

With the two of you being so ignorant, you walked into this closet, wondering where Fred was and why he had chosen such a weird place to meet 

As soon as you guys crossed the line, that’s when Fred had locked the door 

“Fred! what are you doing? Let us out!” (you and George started to yell)

“If you guys want out, then there’s something you should get off your chest first”

You both knew instantly what he was talking about 

Fred’s plan was almost fool-proof except for the fact that both you and George had your wands and could just alohomora your way out 

Oh, wait...

Fred had known you too well and knew you both always left your wands in the dorm during free time before dinner 

“Fred this isn't funny”(George was starting to get on edge)

“Do you hear me laughing?”

The closet was small(but who said you found it a problem(; )

A couple of minutes passed 

“Look (y/n)...”(George began to say slowly)

“I- I like you”

“I like you a lot, more than a friend probably should”(was that his heart pounding in his chest George could hear?)

At that moment your head shot up to meet his gaze 

Did he just confess his feeling to you?

Did he feel the same?

Hope began to form in your heart 

“George...”(he was ready for his heart to be broken)

“I’ve felt that way since I first met you”(a smile began to break on your face)

At that point, you couldn’t hold in your laughter any longer

That was revenge for staining your teeth blue for a whole week!

In all honesty, the pained look on George’s face when he realised you may not love him pained your heart 

On the other hand, Fred thought it was hilarious 

(If) you play quidditch for Gryffindor, then you are a chaser, otherwise, you are whatever position you got placed into 

If you are not in Gryffindor, then you are always watching the quidditch game and supporting the twins(unless it’s your house playing)

• Truth be told you’d work well with Glamrock Freddy, however I’m not to sure if you’d be into him as much as you’d be into Monty. With your small cutesy frame, it’d be a nice contrast with with big rough and tough look.

• Your extroversion is something he can keep up with pretty well! However, I think it’s best to leave him alone when he goes into his little rage fits. He does better when he just calms himself down. Hell, if you ever try to intervene I can guarantee that you’ll get hurt accidentally.

• He likes talking to you though, and most often times the two of come up with the most random conversation topics, you don’t even know how they start.

• He most likely doesn’t know about your sympathy for him, but even if he did, he appreciates you caring about him anyway. He’s like your knight when you need him most, and nothing would stop him from saving your ass almost all the time. (Be it for real trouble or the most stupid reasons every..he can be a bit of an idiot sometimes.)

• He sits there in awe every time you talk about your characters. He thinks you’re just so creative- and if you ever draw him or make up into a character in one of those..mobile games, he’d gush about it and show the whole gang. Hrhrhhhggh you’re so cute.

• Monty isn’t above teasing you once in awhile. And when he does, he tends to go a little to far to the point where you’re at a loss of words. He can easily pick you up and do so much with you, and just to see that cute face of yours get all flustered, why should he stop?

• You two most likely have a friends to lovers thing going for you. With Monty’s anger issues, he never imagined himself getting into any sort of relationship. But with you here, I doubt he’d want it any other way.

• I was banging my head against the wall with this fvcking matchup. Originally I was going to go with Murder Monkey, but then I thought of Reaper Nurse cause like- she matches your energy so well! Along with having the qualms of an antagonist.

• She talks quite a bit, to the point where it’s over bearing..but knowing you, you love to keep conversation going! The two of you would never run out of things to talk about.

• While she may have a steady hand from her duties as a nurse, she doesn’t consider herself the best artist. Nurse quite often comments on how talented you are, and how you have such a nice hobby creating all these characters. However, she does remind you once in awhile it’s good to come back down to Earth, and away from the fictional world now and again.

• I stand by the theory that the nurses are all women who’ve been treated wrong. She has her moments when she can get reminded of what happened to her in the past, and appreciates the sweet moments between the two of you if either of you are feeling down. Seeing you sad ever makes her crumble to pieces! She’d trade everything just to see you smile again.

• Aw~ you’re blushing? How cute! She could just pinch your cheeks. Most of the time she flattered when you you get flustered by her, but rarely do you see it the other way around.

• The two of you are really close. Being personable and extroverted really brought you together. While others at first glance might think you both are very clicky and into gossip, it’s the opposite. The two of you are very open, made for a very laid back but sweet duo.

Thoughts and Reaction to ROCKETEAR!

It's a long post, but when are these ever really short? xD Seeing Carapace first made me so excited. I've been sad we haven't had much of him in the show. And then I saw that it seemed like Ladynoir was doing pretty good as they only had Carapace helping them this time. More S2 & S3 like. So I was like cool, cool, this is great. But what the heck scientist WHY ARE YOU BRINGING TYRANNOSAURUS REX'S BACK! Obviously she's going to be something big later on, she's too nicely animated not to be back. Not to mention Bob Roth's plans. Anyone else both intrigued but also scared at what that could do later? Big upcoming plot point, I think.

I screamed awwww because this is everything. I've wanted a LB/Carapace and Marinette/Nino friendship bond in this show since season 1. This scene made me incredibly happy! I'm a huge Nino fan, for those that don't know, so you can imagine how much I love this episode. Even though sad Nino.

"Alya, everyone has to believe that you will never use the Miraculous again!" End of episode: So anyway... So what I'm seeing here is, Alya's not fond of the idea of being just a spy, not being in on the action. Even though it's Ladybug's plan. Chat Noir isn't fond of what's going on right now either, where he thinks what's going on is all Ladybug's plans. Alya makes the decision to not do what Ladybug wants and tells Nino she's still Rena Rouge. So what's Chat Noir going to do to go against her? Because that's coming up on the horizon. Despite everything being easier for Marinette since everything's not just on her shoulders now, she's still been unable to play video games with her dad, and we know how much she loves doing that. :c That's really sad she doesn't even have time for her family anymore. DJWifi over here being all adorable. "You don't love me anymore!" Me: *Chat Blanc flashbacks* Alya suggests her new content could be Chat Noir edits and Marinette's like YES DO THOSE. Then those edits helped push Nino into thinking she was into Chat. Big oops. Not gonna lie, the rewind freaked me out for a moment. Last time I saw that was Chat Blanc so I thought something big was up. But nope, it's just like that scene in Puppeteer 2. Ugh poor Nino! He knows something's bothering Alya, but she won't say what it is and her behavior's too off from how she normally is. Poor guy. x.x Grumpy Nino that Carapace doesn't get attention and then they wrote his girlfriend with Chat Noir. I remember when Alya was grumpy for a bit about Rena Rouge not getting a party to celebrate her. Movie Ladybug telling Movie Chat Noir that he's better with Movie Rena Rouge. Is this a reference to the episode in Avatar, The Ember Island Players? Getting strong vibes when Play Aang and Play Katara were like, we're just friends nothing more and it's great! Play Katara was extremely into Play Zuko. I can see why Ladybug dismissed the movie (or was it the previous one since it's been awhile? Maybe?) because Rena Rouge and Chat Noir???? The writers (of the movie) just wanted to be different because everyone can see Ladynoir, unless they're blind. Alya and Nino are Andre's favorite couple. YES THANK YOU. I mean they're not my favorite because Love Square. BUT they're my second favorite next to them. Those kids are super adorable but definitely that kid playing Chat wasn't doing Nino any favors. First picture Alya shows. Chat with a heart tail. Yeah that's not doing her any favors lol. Nino: UGH CHAT NOIR'S COMING IN BETWEEN ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND. I KNOW, I'LL CALL MY BEST FRIEND TO VENT TO ABOUT IT. Best Friend Chat Noir: Best Friend Chat Noir: Welp maybe I should see what's up. The fluidity is great and it looks really pretty. But it doesn't quite look like SAMG's work either. Whoever did it, I love it. S2 Chat Noir: You're not replacing me with a turtle, are you? :c S4 Nino: Who would want a reckless turtle as a partner? BOYS STOP. But yeah this whole scene had me laughing so hard XD Very dramatic and I love it. Nino's hilarious even when he's worried and sad! I would've absolutely loved to have heard this in English with the old English voice of Nino, but the new one worries me on whether or not he'll do a good job sounding like Nino and less high-pitched and whiny. :/ New York Nino was great but S4 Nino....x.x THE TRANSITION BETWEEN HIS INNER MONOLOGUE AND SPEAKING REGULARLY AGAIN 😂😂😂😂 Brilliant! It doesn't really feel like Miraculous Ladybug this episode, and I love it. Not that I don't love the show as usual but wow this is great. Okay, I want to point out that Chat Noir

probably was more worried about it than he would've been otherwise because of what happened with Marinette in Weredad. It probably made him more cautious about this sort of thing.

LOL Chat's sulking because Alya's laughing at the idea of being interested in him. 😂😂 I know that's a blow to one's ego and all, and he's dealt with this kind of thing a lot so I do feel bad for him, but that is his best friend's girlfriend and he definitely doesn't want her to like him. Alya: With him it's not just ❤️it's *makes massive hand gesture indicating she loves him deeply* SO SO SO CUTE OKAY ALL THIS DJWIFI 😭 Alya: And I don't even know your secret identity! I would never fall in love with someone I don't know. Chat Noir, literally fell in love with Ladybug, whose identity he doesn't know. Well Alya, I wonder if you saying that matters for later somehow.... o.O Nino running away crying is honestly one of the things that hurts me most in the entire show. Ugh. Adrien over here being all, I'm having a good day. I'm happy and smiling and it's great. And then it wasn't. Adrien, if Nino let him and didn't interrupt, would've told him about how Alya really doesn't love Chat Noir, and that would've seriously led up to his identity being exposed since Nino was watching and filmed them. o.o Did you notice how he was going to tell him about it? S4, the basement is where it's at. Adrien: Uhh, when did you arrange all this? Nino: *pounds fist on desk* I ASK THE QUESTIONS! 😂 So like. Why is Nino interrogating Adrien when he's after Chat Noir? He doesn't know they're the same person. XD He's looking at him like Adrien has info he's keeping or something omg.

Also again this animation is so nice. Adrien, feeling uncomfortable and so turns the music off. Nino, wanting his dramatic music on while he interrogates Adrien, turns it back on. Adrien, feeling even more irritated and uncomfortable, wants the music OFF and turns it off. Nino, turns the music back on. This may be a reference to something, I don't know, but lolol it's so funny. This episode is both super hilarious and super angsty! Honestly they've done such a good job in my opinion. Nino: I'm talking about something that I shouldn't tell you! ...but I'm going to tell you anyway! Alya's Rena Rouge and I'm Carapace! Okay but the way Adrien went from shock to utter anger, knocked his chair back and grabbed Nino's shoulders like "Tell me the truth. You two know about each other?" Aw man, my poor sunshine boy. A lot of the stuff bothering Adrien is all circumstantial, none of it is to purposefully keep him in the dark. And yet from his perspective, that's how it looks. "I thought secret identities must be protected at all times! If that was the truth, you would never tell me this!" Alright so three things. If he's referring to him saying that Nino and Alya know about each other, that was situational and important info for him to know now that this is out. It wasn't important to know before this. The time it happened was dire and was really no time to get around it. If he's talking about Nino telling him the secrets, well yeah that's not supposed to happen and Nino broke that trust. But also, I get the feeling pretty strongly at this point Adrien's going to be breaking some rules too and one of which is he's going to tell Nino who he is. Adrien's being too emotional in this scene to not be involved in it all, I'm wondering if that's going to be questioned later by Nino. He's acting like he knows too much to be a random viewer of the heroes like the rest of Paris. Also Adrien's best friend just totally dissed Chat Noir and went off about how he throws himself at Ladybug whenever he sees her with roses and love confessions. 😂😂😂 This is just too funny! "But he's always rejected because Ladybug finds him annoying! And she's completely right!" Omg Nino, that's not the reason anymore, shush! "And then Rena Rouge appears and he goes *tickles under Adrien's chin* hey pretty lady! You look elegant and you have great perfume." OMG does Chat Noir actually say and do stuff like that to Rena Rouge or is he just exaggerating here XD "If I could I would shut his mouth forever!" Yeah Nino, say what you really think about your best friend in the entire world. Yikes poor Adrien though. I never imagined he'd hear all these bad things about himself from his best friend directly like that. :/ That's a major misunderstanding of him. Which kind of pushes me more towards the "he's going to tell Nino" theory. Sad Adrien transformation DDDX Alya: *explained everything about why Chat Noir went over to her house in the middle of the night* Marinette *facepalm* Ugh that Chat Noir... Well at least there will be no misunderstandings there! xD "Chat Noir, you stole Alya from me! I will steal your life from you." Good lord man calm down. You can't just kill a man! Fanon: Chat Noir gets attacked by a guy over Marinette. Canon: Chat Noir gets attacked by a guy over Alya. Time to go back to the basement! lol Nino's music's still playing xD And the video is left with it paused on Chat Noir hugging Alya. Marinette looked a bit sad, but it was probably more about the situation being a mess rather than being sad he'd hug her. Meanwhile, Chat Noir's fighting Nino and would rather get beaten up by him than fight. x.x "I can't believe that I doubted you." "I can't believe I chose to do anything but be with you!" She wiped away akumatized Nino's tear just like how Ladybug wiped away akumatized Chat Noir's. ALL THE PARALLELS 😭😭😭 But that hug is so sweet!! Nino broke off the akumatization just like Alya did :o Dang, I wonder if that means something later too. "Love and secrets do not go well together, Ladybug. And I'm sure you have a lot of

them!" Secrets = from Chat Noir. Love = for Chat Noir. Yeah even Shadow Moth knows at this point. xP Thanks for that foreshadowing. Nino's charm is my favorite charm so far! It's my favorite shade of blue. Chat Noir: Everybody has doubts sometimes...even me." Ladybug: Is everything okay, Chat Noir? Chat: Oh yes...pound it!

So um. The placemet of Adrien's poster in between Chat Noir, Ladybug, and just with this entire situation feels very strange. Very intentional. But no clue exactly what that could mean..... Nino and Alya are happy over there watching those two, like they're waiting for them to figure things out or something. But really, Adrien should've talked to Ladybug when he could still do so calmly and be reasonable. I doubt that's going to be the case later on. And honestly Ladybug doesn't even know what's going on. Every episode we've seen really either has them working together or she's unable to be Ladybug when he's unable to be Chat Noir most of the time. I've said it before but these two really need to communicate. Nino and Alya are like a less adorably romantic version of what they'd be. "But they're a couple and they know their secret identities, so why does that rule exist for us but they can know?" Very simple. Because they were temporary holders and the Miraculous they had, Hawk Moth hasn't made it his life's mission to obtain, unlike them, who are permanent holders and Hawk Moth's been after them fiercely to make a Wish that could destroy everything. But. The fact he's asking this, and Marinette's Chat Blanc nightmare, really points in the direction that he's going to eventually find out that while she's thought about telling him all along, Chat Blanc's kept her from doing so.

Okay, so while it looks like he's staring up at the moon, if you notice, it really is just one of the pink bubbles.

Now, they could be making it seem like it's the moon though to give it a double meaning. But poor Kitty, he's feeling so awful right now over in that dark corner Dx Nino felt bad for only two episodes? and it got resolved, so hopefully this all won't last too much longer for him! Marinette had a few shaky episodes so hopefully he'll have a few before it gets resolved. But somehow I think that may be wishful thinking. This episode was so amazing, honestly. Wonderful writing, made me laugh a lot, aw a lot, and hurt a lot. It focused on the core 4 characters which I've wanted more of for a long time. The animation was beautiful. And it just felt so different in such a good way. Chat Noir's having a hard time right now, and I know there's a lot of anger and hate about it going around. But please, think of this as him hitting a rough spot in the road to a much better and brighter future. He's going to end up okay, he'll understand it all someday. And that day's honestly not that far for him if you think about it.

//OKAY I said I would make a post on my thoughts about Noelle and Berdly's friendship at some point so here it is! This got quite long, so I’m putting it under a read more.

I think the quick TL;DR would be that I do think they're genuinely friends, and I’m not a fan of the idea that they’re not. 

Both of them have issues they need to work on that have bad effects on their relationship, but it doesn’t mean that they aren’t real friends or that their friendship is inherently bad.

The game makes it clear that they've been friends since elementary school, and given Noelle's family has been distanced from the Dreemurrs for awhile, Berdly was probably her closest friend for the last few years. She gets annoyed with him pretty frequently, but doesn't dislike him.

I also think it's notable that Noelle says that Berdly's always been nice when it's just the two of them. We all know that Berdly's putting up a facade most of the time when he's interacting with others, considering he admits that to Susie and Kris in chapter 2. I think he's probably more himself around Noelle when they're alone, and that probably makes him a little less overbearing and annoying than we see him around everybody else.

But also, she knows him better than pretty much anybody else does. She knows that he’s not actually trying to cause her any harm, he’s just kind of oblivious. And him being oblivious and Noelle not being able to speak her mind very easily is not a good combination. Those are flaws that both of them need to and probably will work on over time, as they get older and more mature.

I think the fandom forgets sometimes that these guys are kids. Like, they’re in high-school. Especially with Berdly, the fandom likes to project a lot of nasty stuff on him and forget that he’s just a dumb teenager.

(I also think he probably has some kind of issues with his family life. I mean, there’s gotta be some reason he sees himself as forgettable when he’s not putting up the smart kid persona. But I digress on that point since this isn’t a Berdly blog, Lol)

We see both him and Noelle start to work on their flaws in chapter 2. We see that they’re fully capable of learning and growing. And no, I do not think that Berdly secretly doesn’t care about Noelle and is just using her. I think that theory is,, reaching to say the least. And the Snowgrave route pretty much disproves it anyway. We see him immediately notice that something is wrong with Noelle, and he drops the facade. He knows that she’s in real danger and gets 10x more serious in response, openly challenging Kris out of genuine concern for Noelle.

We literally see him die trying to protect Noelle. To be fair, I don’t think he expected that to happen. But the point still stands.

My Noelle, at least, wants to be friends with him. She’s not faking it either. She has a lot of grievances with him, but she does care about him too. And y’know. Obviously didn’t want to kill him. But that should go without saying.

Okay I’ve gotten a few questions about Makoto now (too many jokes I know I’m sorry) so I’ll try to explain where it’s all coming from, as least from how I understand it. There was a nice twitter thread posted recently explaining it pretty succinctly but I can’t find it again 🧍🏻 so here’s what I’ve gathered!

The biggest source that spawned the theories of Makoto’s demise comes from Ryuuji’s personal backstory and advice/warning to Haru revealed in the last few episodes of DttF. He states that you can’t make it to the top unless you’re prepared to give something up, even if that something could be someone, which we later learn was partially the case for Ryuuji. The stage is set in those last few episodes for Haru’s journey to include a dire choice and possible sacrifice, and it’s hard to look at Ryuuji’s own story (losing a friend, giving up swimming) and not see it as possible foreshadowing. During my first watch of the season, I thought the “making a sacrifice” arc was wrapped up with Haru’s declaration of taking on the world without giving up the things that let him dream in the first place (his connection with the water, his connection with his friends/teammates/rivals), but it was really just a promise for the remainder of Haru’s story: now that he’s promised to take on the world without losing the things/people he cares about most, how will he follow through?

Here is a post from 2018 that summarizes some fan reactions to Ryuuji’s story and the possible foreshadowing — this line of thinking has been around since the episodes aired pretty much!

As that linked post shows, taking Ryuuji’s words as foreshadowing can spell potential doom for anyone close to Haru, but the biggest contender of it all seems to be Makoto. Haru has always been able to use swimming as a way to reach his friends again whenever something happens to them or they lose their way (Rin, Ikuya), but who is a person close enough to Haru’s heart and removed enough from his current path that potential tragedy could pull Haru away from swimming? Makoto. Even without a shipping lens, the show has shown time and time again just how deeply embedded Makoto is in Haru’s life and journey as a swimmer: he was there at the very beginning of it all, and he’s found a way to be there through every triumph and hardship ever since. We know Haru’s bonds mean the world to him, and we know that losing Makoto specifically is one of his biggest fears (evidence explicitly after the training camp incident, but plain enough to see after the fireworks fight as well)… So, if something happened to Makoto that put Haru at a crossroads between one of his most important bonds and his professional career, what would Haru choose?

The theories moved into more specific statements (“Makoto might get hurt” became “Makoto is going to get hit by a car”) when fanfic authors played around with the concept. There are a few out there, but a specific one a lot of us have talked about before is The Sun That Didn’t Set by ironfamjam, which gives life to the car accident theories. Fics like this aren’t necessarily prophetic and are at least sort of common in the makoharu tag on Ao3. There are a number of fics that reimagined the training camp incident as well (Makoto needing full CPR, more lasting trauma from the whole drowning thing). It’s a prime opportunity for angst-lovers and hurt/comfort fans to explore Haru’s character and how important his friends really are to him.

It seemed like the theories faded and stayed dormant for awhile but hiked back up again as soon as the announcements for the Final Stroke movies started rolling out. I think something about the finality of it all brought back the angst theorists, and now people look at the potential plot as either a glass half empty or glass half full: will the final movies show Haru’s success in starting his journey, or will something happen to make him quit and become “ordinary” once and for all?

A lot of the people I see talking about it are making light-hearted jokes about it because “it’s a sports anime, they can’t hurt Makoto!” Most of my own posts are really just jokes as well, but with how many times kyoani has tried to drown their characters before, and Makoto’s look in the recent teaser…

I’m sitting on the edge of my seat until both of these dang movies come out.

I mean, fried makes stuff good, right? Haha. I actually used to eat tuna sandwiches sometimes, but I mixed in a lot of mayo, mustard, and chopped pepperoncini peppers, so it was fine. I can’t eat spicy food anymore, though. :/

I survived a movie day with friends and gf. I was able to eat what I wanted without too much weirdness. I think my strategy worked.

Here's what I did:

-Fasted all morning at work, black coffee only.

-Took 1 serv each adaptogen lean and lipozene before eating.

-Cooked my eggs after work but before leaving for the movie day. And added whatever vegetables I had available for volume.

-Took 1 serv fiber tabs before leaving with water.

-When I arrived, I set up the holiday Brie, which was my donation to the dinner/snacks.

-Had 1 serv cheese, 1 serv pita crackers, small slice of the brie.

-Tried to eat my snacks slowly while watching the movie while enjoying my huge jug of eggnoggin tea. (This was amazing. My jug kept it warm so it was delightful)

-when dinner came I focusing on the 1 serving rule. The only vegetable was a cucumber salad, which was like bread and butter pickles so I had a larger portion of that.

-My only unplanned indulgence was that they left the cheese plate out and I eventually went back for seconds. (This was mindless, cheese was a safe food when I was trying to do keto). But I don't have much cheese as home so it was a nice indulgence and as such, completely normal to return for something you enjoy.

All in all, I survived a potentially stressful social situation. I don't know why, but I don't really want anyone to know until I have lost alot of weight--most of my weight. It messes with my head and sometimes I wonder if my being fat isn't some kind of protective layer. What I studiously want to avoid is conversations about dieting and weight loss because everyone has their own opinions. Moderation! Keto! Weight loss surgery! I just want to stay in the zone until I am super strong in my habits and focus. I really want/need to get to 250, then 230 before anyone notices because somehow, people's comments affect my mentality and whether it was a good comment or a bad one, it causes me to binge or lose track.

Yes, I am taking some diet supplements. The Adaptogen Lean is a stimulant free thing I picked up at Walmart. I started it after finishing my bottle of super citrimax. I don't know if it works, but if I take it, I normally also take the other actions that I need to do for weight loss- aka regular exercise & balanced meals, no binges, etc.

I am also taking Lipozene because it is basically gluccomannan, which is a fiber that expands in your stomach so you get Full faster. Altho I don't always remember to take it, I have had some success with it in the past. So my theory here is work smarter, not harder.

I think the 2 egg with toast meal might be my go-to for awhile. There is something about having eggs for breakfast that is just super satisfying to me. No idea why but it just holds me over quite nicely. And I really want to avoid being out and about and so hungry because that is when bad decisions happen. I also have noticed a difference in hunger cues since I started buying Jack Links meat sticks. They are like 70-80 calories of hunger crushing awesome. I often don't think about eating at all after having one and it is a great grab n go snack.

I did have some cocktails when I got home. I am trying to limit drinks to 1-2x a week so I am focus on exercise, chores, and getting good sleep for work.

So the wins for the week are steady, consistent drops on the scale. Kept my mind in the game. Keeping meals mostly balanced and veggie heavy. I have healthy snacks around. I have been working on cultivating good habits, even tho I am working some extra hours.

If I can just keep my mind in the game and drop 30 pounds quickly I bet I would be feeling so much better. 50 would be better. But I do have need to get rid of my huge gut. I may not ever by conventionally pretty but I want to be prettier. A better shape.

I am also in desperate need of some damn attention. My girl is great but we haven't had sex since the month we started dating. It is breaking my heart and I have never felt so unattractive. I noticed recently that I am no longer even trying to initiate anything anymore, to the point here I am rarely even playing solo. That is so sad, I used to think I was sexy. My ex wife was just on me all the time and I am afraid I was addicted to that. Even with all the other shit going on until that last year, our sex life was amazing. It made me feel confident and pretty and I have all sorts of lingerie that is sitting in tubs, unused. So sad.

I need to be getting back to myself.
