Before you arrived, Jakurai made sure his apartment was spotless. He picked the best dishes, made tasty little treats, and brewed his best blend of tea. A wave of anxiety rushed over him and he wasn't quite sure as to why. Eventually, he chalked it up to just being anxious over spending time with someone he didn't know a lot about and wanting to make a good impression so they could continue their relationship.

When you knocked on the door, he warmly welcomed you. You returned his greeting with a bright smile that seemed to glow in the afternoon sun. Your smile and your gorgeous spring dress made his heart skip a beat. That's when he realized where the anxiety was actually coming from. He was interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with you, and today's meeting would decide whether or not you'd be compatible with each other.

You complimented his apartment, mentioning how you liked the decor and how welcoming the atmosphere seemed. He thanked you and directed you to where you would be having tea. You perched on one of his easy chairs, and Jakurai couldn't help but imagine you always sitting there, claiming it as your spot. You were sitting in the perfect place where the sun softly shone on your hair and you could see everything in the room without too much effort. It was the optimal spot for comfort and functionality. He wanted you to use that chair every time you came over.

After pouring you a cup of tea, you complimented the taste and smell of the brew. He explained how he got such a fragrant and sweet tea by combining his favorite tea leaves and getting the right measurements to make the perfect cup of tea. You listened intently, even leaning in as if what he was saying was the most fascinating thing in the world. He couldn't help but become completely enamored with you. He knew right then and there, he was sunk.

Eventually, the topic of conversation moved on to your work and how things were going at your job. It was Jakurai's turn now to listen to you with fascination. He found he wasn't bored with what you were discussing, even if you yourself did. He liked the sound of your voice. It was pleasing to the ear and just the right amount of animation. He was truly smitten by you and he didn't want this lovely tea party to end.

It wasn't until the sun was getting low in the sky that you decided to call it a night. Halfway through the tea party, when the tea had run dry, you both switched to coffee. While Jakurai himself wasn't a fan, he was pleasantly surprised to see you liked both coffee and tea. Though it wasn't that big of a deal, to him it felt like an intimate detail about you. He now knew how you took your tea and your coffee, meaning he could make you a drink and know exactly how you liked it. 

Now, Jakurai is a gentleman, so of course he insisted on walking you home. You only lightly protested, but allowed him to nonetheless. Again, the two of you talked about anything and everything under the sun as you walked to your apartment. He loved engaging conversation. You always knew exactly what to say. He couldn't help but wonder if this was what falling in love felt like. Regardless of if it was or not, he knew he never wanted to let go.

When you reached your apartment, you shyly bid him good night but did not go in. It was as if you were waiting for something. And he was waiting for it too. So he came right out and said it.

"My dear, would you be willing to go out on a date with me next week?"

"Why, Dr. Jakurai. I thought you'd never ask!"

With that, you pressed a soft, pleasant kiss to his cheek, bid him good night once more, and slipped into your apartment building.

Jakurai, on the other hand, was frozen on the steps. His hand went to his cheek to lightly trace where your lips had just been. He didn't expect that. It seems you were still full of surprises with him. And he wanted to experience all of the surprises you had to offer for the rest of his life.

So with a self-contented smile, Jakurai began to walk back to his apartment, thinking of all the different date spots he could take you. And of course, as soon as he arrived home, he told Hifumi and Doppo everything.

The wicker basket in your hands swings back and forth as you rock on your feet. It's an ancient thing, sone if the wood fraying off the handle. Pink-and-white gingham is visible through the gap where the lid fails to fasten correctly. Back and forth, back and forth— maybe the rhythmic motion will hypnotize your nerves away.

Today is such picture-perfect autumn weather that it's almost cliché, as if the universe itself is encouraging your mission. Leaves have finally turned rich shades of red and orange; the sky above is crystal clear, a blue that seems endless; each breath of crisp, chilly air fills your lungs and revitalizes your tired body. You'd been too nervous to get a full night's sleep, and it was starting to catch up with you.

It's a weekday, but the park is still full of people and laughter; office workers sitting outside for their lunch break, parents with children too young to be in school. Mentally you restart your checklist for the hundredth time. The only thing missing now is—

"I hope I didn't make you wait too long." Dr. Jinguji's smooth voice startles you out of your thoughts. When you turn to fave him, the towering man has already dipped his head in a bow. It's clear he came straight from work; he's made an effort to at least tie his hair up, but there's no hiding the weariness under his eyes. "You don't have to explain, doctor!" His mannerisms are so polite that you find yourself automatically bowing back. "I appreciate you making time for me, especially after what I'm sure was a long day."

Dr. Jinguji's smile is gentle— a selfish part of you hopes that you're the only person he ever looks at like that— and he falls into step beside you as you turn towards the entrance of the viewing trail. "It's not an inconvenience at all," he hums. "I can't remember the last time I got to really relax, enjoy nature. I haven't stopped thinking about this since you mentioned it the other day."

He's been thinking about this. That's a good sign, right?

As the two of you venture farther down the path and among the autumn foliage, you find yourself glancing more at him than the surrounding trees. His head is tilted back to look up at the bright leaves overhead. You're not sure you've ever seen him this peaceful.

"This should be a good spot, hmm?" Dr. Jinguji comes to a stop on the side of the trail. When you blink up at him, he lets out a chuckle, motioning to the basket you've been carrying. "You brought food, yes? Or was it presumptuous to assume that was for me as well?"

"Oh—!" Your embarrassed response brings another smile to his face. How could you have forgotten? You've had a death grip on the picnic basket this entire time. "Yeah, there's plenty of room here..."

Before you can quite get your bearings and set the picnic up in the grass, the doctor has lifted the wicker basket out of your hand, and then he's gotten the blanket unfolded and all the snacks arranged perfectly across the gingham fabric.

he’ll admit it — he got a little flustered. it was cute, how you thought of him, and i’m almost certain he keeps the chocolate box as a keepsake (the chocolates themselves were great too, or maybe that was his tinted senses talking)

Though, this week was one of those times where you were both able to request work off and just spend a relaxing time together, able to just take work off and see each other's faces during a time that wasn't midnight when you both prepared for bed.

What a lucky coincidence that Doppo and Hifumi had their times off around this week as well, odd but it was quite a relief for the 4 of you.

In a somewhat celebratory manner that you all had some sort of break to be had, Jakurai decided to treat you 3 and himself to a small vacation near the beach, in a cute little cottage locationed near the said beach side.

"aaaaah the weather is so good out here today right Doppomin?" The happy bundle of joy called Hifumi bounced and wrapped his arm around Doppo's shoulder, gaining a weary and tired look from him, but he wasn't all the way annoyed, he was enjoying it as much as everyone else was.

Jakurai quietly chuckled to the two in front of you, poking at each other as they playfully bickered. You were just calming standing beside your lover, gently holding onto his hand with your left, and right holding tight to a small cooler that held snacks and drinks.

You were so caught up in watching the other two that you didn't realize the gentle tug on your hand, Jakurai offering a gentle smile to you as he took you down to the beach, lined with people relaxing or splashing in the vast ocean, although he took the 3 of you to a more relaxed and quieter place to set down a towel and peacefully enjoy your time on.

That afternoon was a peaceful one for the most part, besides the part where Hifumi wanted to drag everyone into the water, ending in Doppo getting completely soaked from the splashes that were targeted at him. You had only gently splashed him, but even then I don't think it was appreciated no matter how much you did it.

The time spent by the seaside was short spent as the sun was slowly setting and letting the pinkish red sky fade off into the blues. Doppo and Hifumi wanted to head inside since they both of them were soaked and needed a change of clothes, but Jakurai had a rather different plan set in place for the both of you.

"s/o, after we get changed, would you mind following me?" Jakurai's voice was soft, not that it ever wasn't, but it was a soothing feeling. You simply nodded and got changed into dryer clothes, pulling your long hair up to let it dry out.

After you were both done getting changed, your lover took your hand gently in his and took you out behind the cottage, blocking out the bright sun rays that were casting down from the lovely looking sunset. He lead you off to a small blanketed area, little lights were set up for when it became too dark to see your surroundings.

"Do you like it? I set this up earlier while you were getting dressed this afternoon" he gently smiled to you, gaining a soft smile back in approval "I love it! I dunno how you found time for this, but it's impressive!"

He lead you off into the already dark area, sitting down before pulling you gently and placing you directly into his lap, his legs crossed with yours overlapping, the skirt you had changed into draping down over your thighs. Ooh, he was insistent on picking out the flowers himself. Hifumi has a company discount with the local flower shop his club works with- so he was all in on getting as many different flowers as he could find (as in, all the flowers he found pretty[as in, all of them]).

He also put together the bouquet himself!! It's a little messy, with some broken stems and falling petals. However, he's just so happy to give it to you that you can't help but find it adorable.

Doppo gets matching keychains for you guys!

He likes being subtle about a lot of things, including his affections. The keychains he gets are the type that look regular on their own, but together they can link to form a heart or your initials or something romantic like that.

Doppo will often link your keychains together in public, smiling to himself as he sees the connection. Whenever he gets anxious in public and he's alone, he'll hold onto the keychain tightly, being reminded of you. Kuko says his gift to you is a day of him being on his best behavior. He says it with a smug smile, expecting you to tell him how good of a present it is and is shocked to see your confusion.

He gets legitimately upset when you tell him that his best behavior shouldn't be a gift. The day ends with him promising you that he'll get you an even better gift next time, which leads him back to the drawing board as this dude is just so, so shit at giving gifts.

Jyushi

Jyushi writes a song for you!

He's not the lyricist for his band but he has a heavenly voice to back up whatever he writes. But he puts EVERYTHING into writing the song for you. Jyushi throws in references to your relationship, to specific dates or moments in time, to things only the two of you would know. He sees it as his magnum opus, and is very very proud of being able to perform it to you.

If his band doesn't want to perform the song with him he makes Kuko and Hitoya help him. Sure, it may have taken a few tear filled begs, but with their help he's able to perform the song he spent so much time working on, just for you

Hitoya makes you a playlist!

He's a bit of a classic guy, and would've made you a mixtape if anyone still used those on the daily lol. There's a lot of different memories within your relationship related to different songs, and he wanted to compile all of them for you two to listen together. Hitoya makes the picture of the playlist a photo of you two on your first anniversary, one where you're holding hands by the sunset and smiling.

It's sweet, cause he plays it first without telling you what it is. With every song that passes you recognize where it's from, and he's left smiling like a kid when you beam with joy asking him if he really made a playlist for you.

He goes in store alone to buy it, and goes a little overboard in designing it. Sasara gets a bunch of overpriced accessories, stuffs it a little too much with stuffing, and picks one of the most expensive dolls because it was the cutest.

Sasara records his own voice messages so they could play whenever you squeeze the doll's hand. And oh my goodness, he recorded so many. There's multiple shitty jokes, several wild compliments, and a myriad of 'I love yous' said in various different tones. Just don't hug it too much, he might get jealous ehehe.

Rosho

Rosho gets you whatever you want.

He gets really concerned when trying to get you gifts, worrying over what you would like best, if you already have it, or if you'd think it's too much/too little. So, eventually he'll just go ahead and ask you what you want as a present.

As long as it's in reason, of course. If you say some ludicrous thing like a yacht or a new car, Rosho will get sad and say you know he can't afford such luxurious (why would you do that to him LMAO). But he'll take you to the shops and have you pick out anything you want, buying it with no question as he just wants you to know he loves you so so so much :CC
