nureyev needs to get out of his own head and realize that slip is gone. slip wouldn’t be brought back, just a worker who bears slip’s face. he needs to either

break/unplug the machines keeping slip “alive”

leave the room entirely (remember, he needs to be speedy bc juno’s life is literally hanging in the balance)

both of these options give the same result, number 1 being preferable because it would give some closure, but whatever works. nureyev then needs to file this under ‘for future consideration’ (just for the moment. he’ll be unpacking this later)

nureyev, either through the magic of plot armor or coincidence (or a secret third option idk), needs to find juno. it would be preferable to find him in the hallway, but to find him wherever they’re going to kill him is both more likely, and doesn’t necessarily make it harder.

based on ‘the thief’s honor’, there is only one executive who is responsible for juno at any give time, meaning it should be relatively easy for nureyev to kill the executive, scoop juno up, and run out.

counting on the fact that most of the executives are either dead or dealing with dead executives, nureyev and juno can either

go to the escape pods, (one person per pod, unfortunately)

reunite the ruby 7 with the other half of the ruby 7 and use it (the ruby will probably still be weak at this point, so maybe no

they can go to another planet, maybe io, or even mars and begin the process of healing. all of this could happen in ‘the thief’s honor pt.2’, leaving the last two juno steel episodes to basically be tagged hurt/comfort and/or a time-skip wedding/domestic fluff.

The world is steel and rust, air so hard to breath in it clugs the lungs, gardens are for the rich and soil is only seen for farming districts-a world that's moved on from what it was.

But their are still God's and demons. Their are still fairies and magic abit forgotten. Followers from the shadows still pray, and rarely but seen are those born with the gift of the gods who left them. Who hear the whispers of voices, who are tasked with jobs from a power the world forgot.

Seeing a cycle that hadn't been seen in over a millenia start. See a politician rise who's name is Ganadof, who holds an impress business which is sketchy. Of secrets and lies, who the gods declare to be ended by their followers who live in the gutters.

So with the disney series on the way and one of my friends currently in a production of the lightning theif musical I've been getting back into pjo, and I've been listening to the newest olympian podcast (guy named mike who's never read pjo reads pjo and talks about it chapter by chapter with longtime fans), and in episode 8 he talks about how the cosmic threat (gods) is really different from the malicious threat in other books (eg voldemort) and it makes the stakes have a really different energy because it's not someone evil intentionally hurting people for personal reasons, it's larger powers at play who don't really care if they hurt people because to them it's just collateral damage.

Now of course mike is still early enough in book one that the cosmic threat is the only threat and we all know that changes as the series goes on, but it made me think about the difference between the godly antagonists and the human antagonists in pjo and how they're portrayed, and I sort of realized for the first time that, in the case of the fate of humanity, pjo doesn't have "bad guys".

There are two types of antagonist in pjo. The first are the gods/titans/other mythological beings who don't care about humans beyond what they can do for them and are mostly just fighting amongst themselves. Yeah, big bad villain Kronos isn't really a fan of humanity, but destroying humans isn't his main objective in the war. His objective is destroying the gods and taking back control. Destroying humans is a happy bonus for him, but even if he knew he wouldn't be capable of that he would still be fighting the gods.

The second type are the half blood traitors, and this is what I really care about, because Luke is an antagonist but he is NOT a villain. He's a victim. And that distinction is the entire point.

Throughout the entire series Percy shows he understands this concept. Our first minor human antagonist is Clarisse. Percy doesn't like Clarisse, but he understands she's a product of her situation and he treats her with genuine compassion even when he's not being very nice to her. He knows how important her quest is to her, that her anger stems from insecurity, and he makes sure she gets to take the fleece back even though he won't get any credit.

As the books go on we see more significant demigod antagonists who don't just bully Percy but actually betray him. It would be easy for Percy to hate them, to write them off. But he doesn't.

Nico turns on Percy several times throughout the series, always for the same reason (seeking information on his family/bianca). Someone else might see that repeated betrayal and be furious, and yes Percy is a little pissed, but his first conscious reaction is guilt that he wasn't there for Nico and his first instinct is to try and help him. He continues to trust Nico despite everything. And Nico fights alongside Percy in the very end when it counts.

Silena doesn't just betray Percy, but all of camp and by proxy all of humanity. And instead of seeing a traitor Percy sees that, just like Clarisse, just like Nico, Silena is a victim of this life they've all been forced into by their godly parents. Percy understands that the human threat has been created by the cosmic threat, and Percy turns around and says "no." He has Clarisse's back. He forgives Nico. He makes sure Silena is honored as a hero. He gives the knife to Luke.

And this is what sets pjo apart. This is why the story is so important. Luke is the ultimate traitor. He was Percy's first friend at camp after Grover, and at the end of book one he tries to kill Percy and nearly succeeds. He turns his back on the gods, offers himself to Kronos, and forsakes all of humanity. And instead of building up that animosity throughout the series and culminating with Percy killing Luke, Percy spends years trying to help him. He learns Luke's backstory. He meets his parents, the godly and the mortal. He sees Luke's experiences as what they are: trauma. He finds him and asks him to come back. He offers him his trust. Luke declines, multiple times. But Percy doesn't stop trying. And at the very end, when killing Luke is the only way to stop Kronos and Percy has the opportunity to do so, he doesn't. He is not the hero, and he knows it. Instead, he forgives Luke. He gives him the knife. He offers his trust. And Luke finally accepts.

So Luke dies, Kronos is defeated, and Percy is not victorious. He sees it as a failure that they all let it get far enough that saving Luke wasn't an option. The gods offer to grant Percy one wish as a reward for his heroism, with immortality as the implied correct choice. And Percy shocks them all and says "no. This isn't about me. It was never about me. I don't want to be a god. I want you to make sure that what happened to Luke never happens to anyone ever again."

As an Egyptian, I was very excited to see a game inspired by Egypt, and I wasn't disappointed! حبيتها اوي!!!

I'm in love with literally everything about it : the different backgrounds we can play as[my fav is the theif],the ROs[ THey ArE so HOT btw especially Qenna and Ahmose] ,the setting and like everything is so well done that i was so sad i picked it up before it was a few chapters in bc now im so hooked i keep checking the blog everyday lol.

Meeting Jin was not exactly romantic as you'd think. The first thing he did was stick his knife to your neck when you got caught stealing rice from clan Sakai.

"I think anyone would know better than to steal from a samurai clan." He points the knife to your back, to which you slowly turned to look at him. "Please. I have a family to feed." Maybe if you sweet talked your way out of this, he'd let you go.

Apparently you picked a bad timing to do so as they just got back from a hunt. But then one thing led to another, and you were teaching Lord Sakai himself how to steal and sneak around. But that's later, and right now, he was this close to killing you. "If I see you again here, there won't be no next time. Leave." He pushes you out of his home, it was definitely... Not a good first impression.

The next time he sees you, you're running on your horse as fast as you could away from angry Mongols. They were firing arrows, charging after you, just barely missing you and your horse. The situation eventually calmed down when you heard them stopped coming behind you. You turned your head to look at them, and they were being attacked by a familiar figure that once held you on knife point.

You slowed down your horse, meeting the man that stopped the raging Mongols that you almost brushed death with. "I never thought anyone would have the guts to steal from the enemy." He gestures to the goods on your horses back. "I stole from you before, didn't I? And I told you... I have a family to feed." You caught your breath while joking, turning your horse away from him and running off into the direction of your village.

Jin meets you again when you asked him for help to retake your home. It was far fetched that he would even accept your request but he did anyway. He was always good in his heart, of course he would. It was surprising, considering you came to his own house again having the stomach to ask him of all people for help.

"Jin." You call his name, he seemed to be stuck and rubbing his eyes after having to kill someone behind their back. It wasn't honorable for a samurai to go against their code. "Are you okay?" You showed concern, placing your hand on his shoulder.

"I'm fine. Keep going." He reassured you, picking his sword back up. "I'm sorry you had to do that." You apologised as it was the least you could do for the situation you were in. You and Jin had to sneak against the enemies to retake your village. But if you weren't careful enough, your friends and family could fall into their hands.

"If it'll save lives.. I'll do it." He breathes in, shaking away the anxiety he felt. "You're doing a good thing, Jin. I'm grateful you're helping me." You squeezed his hand, but let go once you recollected your thoughts.

His uncle, Lord Shimura does not like you one bit. He doesn't approve of your affiliation with Jin as you're a commoner of no status and steal rice from the rich folk. You're a bad influence, he thinks, and that's definitely true because Jin is starting to follow in your footsteps.

Finally, after the successful mission of saving your village, you're both getting drunk drinking sake. And that's when you realised you've actually never seen Jin let loose and smile before. And in that same night, you shared a drunken kiss. A kiss that stopped you both from laughing and speaking, the chattering from the outside was drowned out and the only thing you could listen to was your breathing.

"I never thought I'd court a samurai of all people." You sheepishly turned away from the kiss, watching as the people in the village go on. "Nor do I, with a thief." He scratches his nape awkwardly, unsure what to do after kissing. "I think that's enough sake for the both of us, huh?" You laughed to which he smiled softly.
