Notes: This fic was inspired by a tweet that a friend made and I absolutely love the idea of Saki and Tsukasa coming out to their parents together so enjoy!
°•°•°
“I- I’m gay”
Twelve seconds passed before Tsukasa registered the words his dear sister just told him.
Saki was nervous about telling her brother about this for a long time. Her mind had slowly caught up on the fact that she started to feel differently for Ichika, Honami and Shiho. She used to casually call her three bandmates her ‘girlfriends’ and didn’t think much of it, because she thought that her feelings were of a platonic nature. However, one day in the School SEKAI, her heart started to race at the sight of her friends on the rooftop under the starry sky. It took her about a month to eventually make up her mind and embrace those feelings for what they were. Sweet love for her childhood friends.
Once she had realised those feelings, Saki was fine. She kept them in her heart, because she was unsure whether the three girls felt the same for her. But it was okay. Oddly, she didn’t feel anxious about keeping her feelings a secret for the moment, Saki couldn’t even tell why. Perhaps it was because she simply loved to be with her friends and didn’t care about their relationship status so long they could play in their band together.
Saki also hadn’t told anyone else about her feelings. She didn’t know how to tell that she was attracted to girls so she didn’t deem it necessary to tell someone in the first place. That was until she started to notice something.
All of a sudden, she could hear oh so many girls at Miya Girls’ chatting about their boyfriends and it made her feel uneasy. What would happen if someone asked her what her type of boy is? Or worse, what if someone asked her who she’d got a crush on? She started to feel nervous about this entire romance topic.
One day, Rui was visiting Tsukasa. They were apparently discussing new show ideas. Saki felt overjoyed knowing that her brother had a friend like Rui who shared his passion. She could tell that Tsukasa was often putting other people’s needs before his own, which had worried her sometimes in the past, but now that he could be himself around someone, that had put her mind at ease.
After Rui had left that day, Saki commented, “Hihi, Rui-kun and you are really passionate about this play. I’m happy to see you two being such close friends!”
At that, Tsukasa flinched a tiny bit. As he turned around to face Saki, a blush on his face became visible for her. Tsukasa leaned back against the door, shyly staring at his feet. Saki came a little closer.
“Um, Saki, I think there’s something I should tell you,” Tsukasa began speaking, which made Saki tilt her head in confusion and curiosity. The star took a deep breath, “You see… um… Rui, he… he is my boyfriend.”
Upon hearing those words, Saki’s eyes widened in excitement. A comically big smile crept its way up to Saki’s face and barely a second passed before she pounced onto her brother, pulling him into a hug.
“Oh my god! That’s so amazing!! Why didn’t you tell me before??” Saki exclaimed.
Tsukasa was baffled at the reaction but soon a wide smile spread over his face as he reciprocated the hug and explained how he felt anxious about telling because he was scared of the reaction he might receive. However, now he knew that there had been no reason to be worried. After all, his precious sister had always been excited and supportive for anything the star had in store.
After that day, hope started to bloom inside of Saki’s chest. Maybe she couldn’t tell her bandmates or any other of her friends about her feelings, but she could certainly trust her brother with it. How could she even think she wouldn’t be able to tell Tsukasa about this. That thought made her feel a little embarrassed.
So, now she was there, sitting on Tsukasa’s bed while he was sitting next to her, holding her hands and staring at her dumbfounded. He couldn’t believe what he just heard. But as he slowly understood his sister’s words, his expression started to shift. A small hint of tears welling up in his eyes was there, his grip on Saki’s hands tightened and a smile appeared on his face. Then he pulled her in a hug and she yelped at the sudden move. She quickly placed her arms on Tsukasa’s back and leaned her head on his shoulder as she let out a few quiet sobs.
“Saki! I- I am so happy that you told me this! Thank you so, so much for telling me! I- I am so proud!!” Tsukasa cried out which in response made Saki cry. She felt so relieved about being able to tell someone. No longer would she have to carry her thoughts and feelings alone. She should’ve known that her brother would be this supportive since the very beginning. Oh what a fool she was for not even thinking about it. But that didn’t matter anymore. She felt save now in the arms of her brother.
From that day on, the two siblings would often ramble about their feelings. Tsukasa would tell her about his dates with Rui, while Saki would talk about how cute Ichika, Honami and Shiho were.
But eventually it had to come.
For once, the entire Tenma family was having dinner together. It wasn’t often that their parents weren’t gone for work but occasionally, they’d be able to have a great family dinner. The Tenmas talked about all the things they hadn’t been able to catch up to. School, friends, work, hobbies. A big life update you may say. However, this also led to the topic of love.
“And any news in your love lives,” their father asked in a joking manner.
Saki and Tsukasa glanced at each other. Both had a look plastered on their face as if they wanted to say ‘shit’.
They didn’t think about coming out to their parents. In fact, they were so happy with sharing news between the two of them only that the thought of telling their parents had never even crossed their minds even once. Now they sat there at the dinner table, wondering what to do about this.
“Haha, I am far too busy with working on becoming the next world star that there’s no space for such a thing as love at the moment!” Tsukasa proudly exclaimed with his show persona on. He despised using his acting skills as a means to lie to people but this was an emergency. He first had to talk with Saki about this matter.
“Nothing on my end either, unfortunately, haha,” Saki responded, though not as convincing as Tsukasa but it was enough to fool their parents.
After dinner, the two siblings hurried into Saki’s room as it was closer than Tsukasa’s and actually had four walls, unlike the boy’s room.
“What do we do, what do we do, WHAT DO WE DO?!” Tsukasa paced around Saki’s room frantically. He was panicking because he felt like an idiot for not seeing this coming.
“Calm down and don’t be so loud before they hear us!!” Saki wasn’t panicking much less than her brother. She was sitting on her bed, nervously biting her fingernails.
“We need to tell them! Right?” Tsukasa threw a worried look at his sister, “We cannot leave them in the dark like that right?? I couldn’t possibly lie to them for the rest of my life!”
“But what do we even say?! ‘Hey, mom, dad! Tsukasa and I are gay and not interested in your typical romance. I have a huge crush on my childhood friends and Tsukasa even has a boyfriend already!’ We can’t possibly say that!!” Saki was making exaggerated movements with her arms as she spoke.
The Tenma siblings were at a loss and frightened to death of the reaction of their parents. They couldn’t help it. Their parents had grown up during different times so even though they were usually supportive of everything Saki and Tsukasa had done so far, how could they know that they were just as supportive about their sexualities? But they had no choice, neither of them wanted to lie to their parents.
So, as Saki and Tsukasa stared at each other in silence now, worry and fear seen in their eyes, they carefully thought about how to approach their parents. Tsukasa closed his eyes, took one, two, three deep breaths and stepped closer to his sister. He gently took her hands in his and firmly held them. The star looked at Saki with determined eyes, which couldn’t hide his fear but were enough to give Saki courage.
“Let’s do this. Together,” Tsukasa calmly breathed out.
Saki gave him a steady nod. Her brother’s determination was truly infectious. Both inhaled and exhaled a long breath together before walking out of the room and going downstairs, hand in hand, to talk with their parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Tenma were resting at the dinner table. Tsukasa came to a halt about two meters away from the table with Saki right next to him.
“Mom, dad, could we talk real quick?” Tsukasa asked unusually quiet for his standards, which made their parents look up with slight concern on their faces.
“What is it, dear?” Mrs. Tenma inquired. Her voice sounded neutral but in her eyes you could easily detect worry. Mr. Tenma put his coffee down to face his children and his wife also focused her gaze at her kids.
“So, uh… Saki and I… uh we’ve got something important to tell you. Well, at least important for us! Uh… yeah…” the star was fidgeting, playing with the sleeve of his sweater and scratching his nose and head nervously.
Saki squeezed his hand that she was still holding and turned her head to give him a reassuring look. Tsukasa smiled and nodded.
“Yeah, um… this is very important for brother and me so please, just listen. Give us… just some time so we can, uh, say everything,” Saki carefully chose her words, thinking twice about how to phrase each sentence. A sweat drop rolled down her face.
Tsukasa tightened his grip on Saki’s hand lightly. They glanced at each other for a brief moment before the boy slowly inhaled and then spoke.
“Mom, dad, I have a boyfriend.”
Shortly after, Saki added to her brother’s words.
“A- and I like girls.”
Tsukasa’s lips were pressed to a thin line while his limbs were trembling and Saki’s entire body was stiff. Both tightened the grip on each other’s hand even more. Saki tried her best not to start crying on the spot but when she heard a sob coming from next to her, she turned her head, seeing how her brother, Tsukasa, was crying waterfalls. He couldn’t hold back anymore. He hid his face behind his hand, muffled sobs being the proof of his emotions overflowing. Seeing the star fragile like that made Saki lose the fight against the tears and she pulled her dear brother into a tight embrace, nuzzling her head into his shoulder. She let all her feelings out.
The Tenma siblings cried their souls out, holding onto each other as if the other is the only thing keeping them from drowning in the sea of their own tears. They didn’t even receive a reply from their parents yet but they were so relieved to have been courageous enough to just tell them. Mr. and Mrs. Tenma who were patiently listening to the two kids were sighing in relief with soft smiles on their faces. They glanced at each other quickly, then got up from the dinner table and stepped to their children.
They hugged the two siblings gently.
“We are so, so extremely proud of you two, Tsukasa, Saki,” their father said with a gentle voice.
“Thank you so much for telling us, my babies. You two are so brave,” their mother thanked them wholeheartedly with her soothing words.
The family stayed like that for a while.
After all, they did not often get the opportunity to enjoy themselves in a long, gentle family embrace, letting all their feelings flow out.

Asks for any of the Oniyanagi you want to answer these questions for! (I can't think of Nami middle infirmary boy's name but him especially!)
🌾- How does this oc get along with people they just met?
🍀- Around when does this oc get up in the morning?
❄- What is this oc's favorite and least favorite food?
Hi Muffin! Thank you for sending this in hehe I'll be answering this for Hiyori (Sun Guardian & infirmary boy XD) and Shiki (Cloud Guardian)!
Tumblr media
I don't get to draw them a lot compared to the trio, so I decided to color my sketch for them being a little bitch to e/o (Shiki started it tho). Colors subject to minor changes like the exact shade lol like Hiyori's hair is supposed to be pink why does it look purple-ish in my other screen what the hell
How does this oc get along with people they just met?
Hiyori: Even before the main story started in Daily Life Arc, he has always been a blunt but polite & hardworking honor student who's well-liked by teachers and fellow students alike. He gets along with people with basic human decency and respect if there's really no reason to be mean to them. But he won't be the one to usually reach out just to socialize.
Fast forward to when he gets dragged by KanaRumi to being involved with all this yakuza business --- If he senses the smallest bit of "not being normal" towards someone he just met, he's definitely judging you. He thinks KanaRumi and their guardians are all freaks, and he's the only normal one lmao (he also started swearing a lot because of them)
Shiki: Shiki has a preference for hanging out with people he looks up to. His criteria are those who he thinks are cool and are extremely talented/skilled at what they do. So the first thing he does when meeting someone is to judge them on whether or not they're someone who fits those criteria 😭😭
If they fit, he's very nice and polite with them. If you're in the upper ranks (yeah...he ranks them...), it would like he's a kid interacting with his favorite superhero ro some shit like that. If they don't fit, good luck because he's going to be very mean to you.
Around when does this oc get up in the morning?
Hiyori: As the most normal person in the Oniyanagi guardians (😭😭😭), he gets up at around 6AM in the morning. He even follows a morning routine before going to school, which includes doing light exercises and going for a short jog, since he really wants to maintain his health. He aspires to be a doctor, so what good would it be if he, himself, is not in good health?
Shiki: If it's a school day, then he tries his best to wake up at around 6-7AM. But the problem is that, he often spends his nights either gaming/streaming or going on missions, so he wakes up later than expected. If it's not on a school day or if his health issues start flaring up, he wakes up at around noon (earliest) or afternoon(latest).
What is this oc's favorite and least favorite food?
Hiyori: His favorite food is...his mom's cooking (🥹💖✨✨✨ Hiyoriiinnn what a good boy ueueueue). His least favorite food are spicy foods, as well as Kurumi and Bianchi's cooking. He thinks they're all health hazards.
Shiki: His favorite food is "any instant food", from instant noodles, convenience store food to canned goods, as long as its tasty enough. Anything that can be prepared on the go, because he thinks he has other better things to do (gaming) than to spend a long time cooking a balanced meal. His least favorite food are the stale and tasteless ones they serve you at the hospital.

My personal hot take that will get me chased with pitch forks and torches if I talk about it is that kanade is a tenma fanon is stupid and ignores so much abt both kanade & tsukasa’s characters. Kanade has her grandma and honami taking care of her and would not benefit from or even desire A Brand New Family. Tsukasa does not go around adopting people as new siblings he considers toya to be his brother because they have known each other since they were children and have been very close since they were children. Too tired to articulate my view on their relationship but something something being there for each other when toya was dealing with his dad being shitty and Tsukasa was dealing with saki being sick & his parents (justifiably. They were doing their best & he does not blame them.) focusing on her so they relied on each other. Tsukasa loving his sister and being unable to help her/separated from her -> friend he loves dearly is also struggling -> older sibling instincts have to go somewhere -> “I have known this guy and been looking out for him since I was like seven he’s basically my sibling” “tsukasa has been supporting me since I was a kid and having my own wants ignored by my dad (& presumably also older aoyagi siblings) he is basically my older brother.” Do I think he would make a great and supportive friend for kanade yes but I also think we should acknowledge that kanade is already getting the support she needs from her own friend group and family.

intense insane staring into the distance and still crying over north no2
#txt#watching pluto#it was a really good buildup of discrimination tho like#the beginning before getting into the world you just think oh its some people its a problem but then as you keep watching you realize#its a pervasive issue the robot adoption thing is still fairly recent there was a war fought majorly by robots#yet the main moral debate in world is the idea of a robot killing a human#the war robots being treated as weapons or idols but never any real inbetween#only exception is mont blanc it seemed pretty ingrained into an actual community#its funeral was organized by volunteers they respected its choice to not have its body made into a monument#versus atom who was basically a minor celebrity and the prof wanted to refuse the state funeral but was denied#those robot parents who kindof lamented kindof like. we understand how those humans feel even if we dont know how to express it.#like the consistent casual discrimination going into tragedy and building gesuit anger#and then also realizing how they tried to cover up his anger like manipulating his memory and refusing his resignation and#ROBITA#like hrghdjsbsnks ‘youre a robot you cant resign’ wow what exactly are in those international robot rights again#but then its all revealed that like. apparently this was all a triple sided setup to buildup robot despair/hatred and also destroy the world#??????#like WHO is that teddy bear#also allubah being a robot was pretty foreshadowed. him having multiple personalities was def not#like haha allubah did you not even realize your bad mental health???#manipulating his own robot son too like ah. forcing your son to leave his body for a weaponized one and also using him to destroy the world.#he was a botony student.#also why is the robot named pluto??? why is the flower named pluto??? is it cause sahad was kinda just saying pluto while out of his mind#‘pluto roman god of the dead’ literally the only connection was death and. horns. was there an actual reason for the horns???#tenma was basically going along with the plan just for the memory chips. to. put them into atom and force him to ‘evolve’ ???????#building up from ‘gesuit feels intense anger abput robot discrimination’ to ‘actually gesuit had a robot child that got killed’ was crazy#like hrhghskshGGAAAAAA#like its a little wild but also its like going from. intense anger about discrimination happening infront of you#to feeling intense anger about the discrimination happening TO YOU#the bad guys at the end going ‘no hatred is endless now that you feel it it will never leave you’ and then being proved wrong is so fhjdb <3

it is not really a shock that this fandom has a bit of a misogyny problem, but i think a specific one is how the boys are often somewhat babied and given all sorts of pity for every single tiny thing they go through, while the girls with similar issues are often ignored entirely. there are many examples of this, but right now, i am going to talk at length about the Tenmas and the Shinonomes in particular, as them being pairs of siblings allows very direct comparison.
firstly, the one that irks me most: Tsukasa Tenma, and how a ridiculous number of his fans will make absolutely everything about him. including Saki's disability. i do think it's right to acknowledge the impact on him as well- but it gets overdramatic really quickly. i'm sorry to be harsh, but Saki did not spend her childhood in and out of hospitals, believing that she was dying, just for half the fandom to completely brush over her trauma and be like "oh... poor, lonely Tsukasa..."
i rather hate this, because not only does it feel quite ableist to skim over the one directly suffering from the condition in order to massively favour someone who happens to feel a bit of the knock-on effect, but it's also used to unreasonably villainise the Tenma parents. people will go on about how "neglected" Tsukasa was... very well, how exactly would you have handled the situation? they did their absolute best. it was a highly unfortunate situation for everyone involved, and it's unfair to deem Mrs and Mr Tenma as "bad parents" simply because they prioritised their dangerously ill daughter over their confident son who always assured them that he'd be alright. yes, they could have made better choices for Tsukasa, such as hiring a babysitter... but i think people tend to forget that Saki's illness flared up very suddenly and randomly. as the good parents the Tenmas are, they very likely couldn't think properly due to their panic for their daughter. it was instinct to drop everything and get her immediate help. and Tsukasa himself understands this, so it's an absolute wonder that the fandom doesn't. he was not ignored. he was phoned, updated on the situation, reassured that his sister was recovering... and praised by his parents for being such a wonderful brother.
also, with the situation of Saki's hospitalisation, i do feel like Tsukasa's own personality is sometimes not taken into account, ironic since it's him that everyone's interested in. because i would, in fact, be more critical of the Tenma parents, had Tsukasa been a more fragile child. if he had been the type who was easily scared, who could not handle being by himself, who would, in fact, have been traumatised from being left alone- i would say that the Tenma parents would have deserved the treatment they get from the fandom. but... that's not Tsukasa. it has been shown that Tsukasa was always a very bright, self-assured boy, positively brimming with confidence. even when little, he was creative and strong- and his parents knew this. they could have some peace of mind during a stressful time, knowing that their son could entertain himself with ease, such as how he was practising some acting just before his mother rang him. all of this is shown within the Dazzling Stage event which is, funnily enough, the very same event that the lovers of Tsukasa angst latch onto.
of course Tsukasa was heavily concerned about Saki. he is an incredibly caring person, why wouldn't he be? and yes, of course he missed her while she was in the hospital. no one is trying to deny that, nor minimise his suffering. the fandom does that to Saki. while acknowledging that Tsukasa was affected is good, in fact, it is very interesting to see the impact of disabilities beyond those directly affected... it's the fact that it is majorly Tsukasa's issues that are focused on that confuses me. it's disproportionate. i do wish we saw just as much sympathy and discussion about Saki herself, in addition to her brother. the psychological impact that her illness and consequential exclusion had on her, as well as the obvious physical aspect. because that is just as interesting, if not potentially more so, and i will be making a future post about it.
moving on from the Tenmas, i'd now like to talk about the Shinonome siblings, in a little less detail, considering i personally have not witnessed the unfairness of their treatment as much as that between the Tenmas. though, make no mistake, it still exists.
now, Ena is a character who i feel has a certain percentage of those who dislike her. and what are the general traits that people point out when asked why they aren't a fan? from what i've seen, it is her anger management issues, past violence, and a general "tsundere" type of personality that earns her this criticism. i'm not saying she does not have any of this. she absolutely does. she is flawed, as good, complex characters should be. though, everything she is despised for... who else regularly displays the exact same traits?
none other than her own brother, Akito. yet the dislike for him, while it is obviously around, does not seem quite as common as hers. a very short and hot temper? check. shows of violence? check. a sometimes harsh way of speaking? check. can sound aggressive and off-putting on occassion? check. Akito and Ena are incredibly similar when it comes to their more negative traits. i suppose it's not a surprise, considering that they were both brought up in the same, questionable environment. though, why does Ena seem to be hated so much more?
most will bring up the very infamous mention of how Ena and Akito's fights would get physical when they were younger. and how this makes Ena an "abuser" because supposedly, as she is the elder one, there was an imbalance in power... but was there really? it is incredibly controversial to say, but i do believe that the violence between them, particularly that which was committed by Ena, is quite exaggerated by fans. and here is where i think that Akito tends to be babied.
Ena was not significantly stronger than Akito. perhaps not ever physically stronger than him at all except when they were literal babies. there is only one year of difference between their ages. in the current day, it is no debate that Akito is one of the strongest characters, regularly going on runs, being able to sprint with Tsukasa on his back, while Ena is quite on the opposite end of the spectrum, preferring the indoors and such. what i am saying is that it is absurd how the fandom makes it seem like Akito was some utterly defenceless little toddler that was getting beaten up by his Big Bad Sister. realistically, he was fully capable of fighting back- and he does. it's hardly as if we see him cower before her. he has absolutely no issue retorting to her in a snarky manner. when people bring up the whole drama of Ena scratching him, they conveniently forget what he says directly afterwards- that he could dodge her attacks. not to mention, sibling fights getting physical and a little violent is incredibly common, take it from me- i am an oldest sister myself. if you call Ena an abuser, you are saying that you want half the older siblings in this world behind bars.
oh, and people will talk until they're blue in the face about how the "nasty" and "crazy" Ena scratched up her brother when they were younger- are we forgetting that Akito punched Toya in the literal main story? that left a massive bruise on his cheek. that isn't talked about nearly as much as some common sibling scrap.
if you can let similar behaviour slide from Akito... how come it is unacceptable from his older sister? who is, arguably, from what has been shown in the story so far... under the greater amount of stress from the tension within their family. it was her that was explicitly discouraged by their father. we haven't seen such conflict between Shinei and his son, have we? that's not to say that Akito's current personality isn't also explained, having grown up in that environment, but why is it that Ena receives so much less sympathy than him when she, understandably, lashes out?
Saki and Ena have both had it rough. in their own, very different, ways. yet, a staggering amount of pity is given, not to them, but to their respective brothers.
and i must, sadly, wonder... if the mere genders of these four characters happened to be swapped and all else remained as it is...
... would the perception of any of them be quite the same?

Rui's parents are good parents who love and support their son in all his endeavors and I think Rui would be really open towards them. Especially after joining Wondershow.
Anyways, Rui's mom asked if she could use Rui's phone and Rui's like "Sure"
She ended up needing to open the gallery, asked him, and he's like "yeah I don't mind"
What he forgets is that he had walls and walls of Tsukasa Tenma photos. His poses, him passing out after a day of practice, him admiring something, him mid rehearsal, etc. Just him too.
As he comes to the sudden realization, his mom is already looking at him expectantly.
Rui: (it clicks) "Mom wait oh n-"
Rui's Mom: "..."
Rui: "...I can explain"
That's the first time Rui's mom actually saw Tsukasa instead of just hearing about him. She gets tempted to tease him, but Rui's a full blown wreck at this point, snatching his phone away and curling up in the corner of the couch.
It's so much like his middle school behavior, but for such a different reason. She can't help but smile.
She just goes up to her son, pats his head, and just whispers "You can do it!" to him before leaving.
...Rui ate his veggies for dinner without much complaint that night. His mother just laughs while his father is over there like "Huh. What. What happened. Is everything ok?? Rui are you actually EATING your carrots??!?"

Pampering♡
Tsukasa tenma, rui kamishiro, toya aoyagi, akito shinonome x F! Reader(separate)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✮A/N: yayayayayy fantasista gang!! Was gonna post this on tsukasa's birthday but forgot.. so sorry if it looks rushed!! :'(( idk if you wanted me to include len and kaito aswell but you only said pjsk boys and kaito and len arent from pjsk so i decided not to add them..
✮Synopsis: general hc's for the squad🔥🔥
✮Contains: no warnings! May have a few grammatical errors but thats it, fem reader!(Though pronouns arent mentioned)
Tumblr media
✮Tsukasa tenma!
-When tsukasa started dating you, he would think that he would be the clingy one, that was a mistake..
-whenever both of you were around, he would often get teased by his friends, but nevertheless, it was funny, as he was a grade lower than yours..
-both of you would get nicknames such as father and mother, cause of how mature you look and how you care for others as if theyre your children, and tsukasa? He cares for his peers as if they were his siblings! A good match if you say so;)
-speaking of nicknames, he loves making you nicknames and so do you! He'd call you my love, darling or honey, you? You love calling him sweetheart, darling too, and babe
-whenever he's practicing his lines for a show, you'd sometimes sneak up on him and hug him from behind, at first he'd be surprised, but eventually getting used to it
-despite you being the oldest in the relationship, he's more reliable than you.. he loves helping you with your studies.. even though you're the oldest, and you love giving him your old notes, occasionally, both of you spend more time at the library
-when cuddling, his favorite position would be him resting on your chest, your taller, so he likes to be the little spoon sometimes.., he'd nuzzle into your chest and would fall asleep then and there
-tsukasa would pout when you kiss anywhere his face except for his lips, its funny how he gets red, expecting you to kiss his lips but i. Reality? You would kiss him everywhere but his lips
-"hey.. are you doing this on purpose..?! I didnt do anything wrong did i..?"
-when visiting his place, saki would be the first one to greet you, hugging you while squealing, oh how she loved to have an older sister!!
-nevertheless, tsukasa likes the way you cling onto him, he feels warm.. back then.. he didnt receive that much attention from his parents as his parents were busy taking of his little sister, so, seeing you shower him with love and affection, makes him feel lucky and proud to have you.
Tumblr media
✮Rui kamishiro!
-Rui doesn't mind being pampered by you, heck he loves it!! Sometimes he'll do the pampering but it's mostly just you :3
-Rui may be sly and cunning, but he blushes ALOT when you call him any nicknames such as "baby" or "honey" he'll give you an awkward chuckle accompanied by the blush on his cheeks<3
-Rui doesn't really care about you being older than him, that gives him an excuse to act immature just to tease you!
-His classmates often envy him of having a girlfriend that's older than him, some boys would come up to him and ask "howd you manage to get her?" Or something like that..! Though all he replies are shrugs..
-WILL BRING YOU WHENEVER HE GOES TO THE CINEMA, like, rui's probably 17-18 considering he's a 3rd year, you're probably 18-19?? He'll bring you to the cinema to watch horror movies that are too graphic for the younger audiences
-would sometimes ask you for the lessons you learned during your school year, so that he could learn in advance!
Tumblr media
✮Toya aoyagi!
-will definitely look up to you!!
-gives you the biggest amount of respect since youre older than him
-would often ask you for advice since youre older than him, he feels as if he had some kind of strong bond with you, sometimes it would be simple ones, and sometimes its really confusing to the point you search it up
-will blush awkwardly when you call him "baby" or any other lovely nicknames
-WOULD BE EASILY SOFTENED WHEN YOU CUDDLE WITH HIM!! his fave cuddling position would be where his head would rest on his lap, he likes it when you play with his hair TRUST!! He'll easily calm down when you tell him some assuring words while playing his hair<33
-really, REALLY likes it when you pamper him with care and love, do you notice his parents? Sure they're not that good but.. they're somewhat distant? So.. having you close by him is pretty new.. at first he would be easily flustered but eventually, he'd get used to it
-Toya here is very reliable, sometimes the other way around, both of you take turns when helping each other, he's pretty mature so when you act "childish" he'll simply tell you so!
Tumblr media
✮Akito shinonome!
-when akito first met you, he would put on his "nice guy persona" time gradually passes by and he put the mask away
-isnt that used to receiving affection.. when you call him baby or pamper him even just a bit, he gets red and would often murmur out something or look away
-has deep respect for you, since your older than him, its obvious he'd treat you much nicer and respectful
-does tease you here and there.. would sometimes tell you your shoes are untied only to find that they werent..
-accepts any forms of gifts you give him... Even if theyre a bit.. cringey.. still he finds it cute
-SUCKS AT STUDYING, will always ask you to teach him, if not, lets you answer his homework
-"hey.. uh y/n? Could you help me out here?" He asks, showing you a math problem he finds difficult
-your older than him so its just like the others, would ask you for advice whenever he's lost
-secretly loves it when you pamper him with affection, sure he may be gruffy or rude to others, but deep down he's very clingy and would get protective of you when something isnt right..

Fullmetal Luminary Alchemist
Tenma siblings (16 & 17) but everything is so much worse! Also Toya (16) is Winry, but Toya and Tsukasa do not have a romantic relationship.
I didn't see any reason to change the armor visually, except things the siblings would change themselves (decoration basically) so the hair thing is separated and dyed pink at the tips to look more like Saki's hair and the loin cloth is frilly and decorated (both of these things Tsukasa did for Saki to help her feel more comfortable)
Instead of dead parents, both of Toya's older brothers were drafted and killed instead. Also Toya's mom is a surgeon (regular) so she helps him out with some stuff, but can only do so much since she isn't specialized in automail
Then there's Prince Rui Kamishiro (17) and his two shadows, Nene (17) and Mizuki (21). Later on, when he gets injected with Greed he becomes Avarui
The other Xingese emperor candidate whose come to amestris in search of immortality is Emu Ootori (14)! With a little rabbit friend in tow. She's a big fan of the Luminary Alchemist she's heard so many stories of!
Tsukasa’s CO is Colonel Shinonome managed by her loyal, ever-present Lieutenant Asahina . Ena is still called the flame alchemist, since she still uses flame alchemy as her specialty
The other members of the team are: Sergeant Azusawa (Breda), Warrant officer Hinomori (Falman), 2nd lieutenant Shiraishi (Havoc), and 2nd lieutenant Hoshino (Feury). And Ena's best friend is, of course, Lieutenant colonel Momoi (Hughes). Married to Shizuku with a beautiful daughter!
Finally in this lineup, we have Akito (16) as Paninya. Kinda,
It's a bit more complicated because he is also Ena's younger brother and she is our Colonel Mustang in this au-
So more exactly, he and Ena are adoptive siblings, both taken in by Madame Christmas. Mme Chris paid/called in a favor for Akito's Automail surgery and he's incredibly grateful to her for everything she and the girls have done for him.
That's why he started working at Ken's shop (where he got the automail) as an errand boy/ extra pair of hands. Ken is still a father figure to him in this au, so he's happy to work there and wants to pay back Ken too
Originally Ena was also included in those he felt grateful toward, the two were actually very close, but then she joined the military. Originally this wasn't a problem, but she was gone for a long time and when she got back she was basically a different person.
Akito tried to help or at least witnessed some of her worst moments once back (think the Gracia's pie scene) and he was horrified, by what the military had done to his sister, and innocent people, and what his sister had done too.
This caused him to form a deep hatred for the military, which turned to a grudge against Ena when she decides to continue and even climb the ranks in the broken system of the military
He starts adding pickpocketing to his ways of making money, especially from military folks when they show up, he likes the rush and it makes him feel vindicated to hurt anything military
This is of course how Akito ends up stealing Tsukasa's watch, cue first rush valley episode (minus childbirth) and by the end Toya ends up working at Ken's shop too, but as an apprentice automailer
Gay romance ensues, with a lot of Toya picking at Akito's automail and Akito suffering
Since An is Havoc in this au, she is originally working for Ena, but then gets injured and heads back to the shop to help out. Which is obviously pretty awkward with Akito, but they start talking it out over time
I think this is around the time Ena and Akito start rebuilding their relationship, using An and her good nature as a bridge, enough so that by the end Akito helps out with the coupe (not going to the fight or anything, just handling supplies they send to Team Ena and stuff)

Tumblr media Tumblr media
tenma tsukasa . . . 天馬司
X and you used to be very close when you were younger , but growing distant when you grew older . While you and Tsukasa had gotten closer recently , X had pulled you aside and demanded you stay away from him . But when he invited you to a sleepover , you just couldnt refuse him .
After a sunday full of laughter and playful banter , sweets and play - fighting , you had to go to school the next day , and you had forgotten some of your belongings at the Tenma household .
Finding you in the hallways at lunch , Tsukasa smiled at you , holding out your bag to you .
" Hey, you forgot your stuff at my place. I was thinking of dropping it off at your house, but a world future star just cannot miss practice. "
He smiled again as you giggled , taking your bag from his hands . As you walk back in the lunchroom , X's table was staring at you , with X glaring daggers into you as you simply waved and walked off to your own table .
Tumblr media
kamishiro rui . . . 神代類
Rui knew about X's existence , since he had noticed how they would glare at you when you're with him .
The morning after you had stayed at his house , you had forgotten the shirt you had worn to sleep .
So at school , but before morning classes , you were eating a small snack and on your phone before Rui had walked in , making eye contact with X to make sure they were watching before turning his attention back to you .
" Hm? Why am I here? You forgot your shirt at my house, and I'm simply here to return it. "
He watched as your flushed a slight red due to classmates glancing at you two with curious eyes , and X fuming with anger .
Before leaving , Rui bent down to whisper in your ear .
" This.. friend of yours. Needs to stop being so negative about us. "
He gave you and X one last sly smile before leaving .
Tumblr media
shinonome akito . . . 東雲彰人
You had originally visited at the Shinonome household because you were partners with Akito , building a 3D project for [ your choice ] .
But because the project had taken so much longer than you both had hoped for , Akito suggested you just stay over . Once your parents had agreed , your ' project time ' turned into a sleepover .
In a rush because you had a lot to do that school morning , you had forgotten one of your bags at Akito's house .
After school , Akito had to go see a teacher and couldnt walk home with you , so he gave you your bag at the school exit once the bell had rang .
" Over here! Here, you left this in my room last night. "
You flushed lightly at the gesture , taking the bag and thanking him before you turned around to a lot of stares thrown your way , specifically X's stare .
You decided to wave him goodbye and rush out of the school before anyone could question you .
Tumblr media
aoyagi toya . . . 青柳冬弥
You and Toya were close friends , visiting WEEKEND GARAGE every friday , and hanging out over the weekend .
You and the rest of Vivid Bad Squad decided to have a sleepover at Toya's house , playing Uno and watching An and Akito fight .
Amidst all the fun , you had forgotten an item or two at his house . And as the good friend he is , made sure to return it to you as soon as he could .
During passing period inbetween classes , Toya had come up to you at your locker and tapped your shoulder, stretching out the hand holding your bag .
" You forgot this at my house yesterday. Hm? What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that? "
He noticed your reddened and embarrassed cheeks , but wasnt able to pinpoint why before he realized people were looking over at the both of you before letting out a whispered " oh . "
X was furious , not only because they had told you to stay away from Toya , but to be at his house had just left them stunned .
Tumblr media
this might just be me , but i think X finally got the memo .

Okay, new AU idea. This is gonna be a long one, so bear with me:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our setting is a small village. Everyone knows each other and whatnot. They get along and are polite to each other, even if they wouldn't consider each other friends.
In this village, lived two wealthy families. The Asahinas and the Tenmas. However, one day the two senior Tenmas had to leave with their youngest. Her illness had gotten worse and word was that another village, one days away, had some of the best doctors who could help with her condition. Thus, they left, leaving behind their eldest, who decided to stay back in case either of his parents returned to get him or if he got a letter telling him to make the journey on his own.
Now, because of how close this village is, everyone knows Lady Asahina didn't like the Tenmas. She's spent years as the villaged wealthiest until they came along. She smiled politely and spoke courteously with them. She even allowed her only child to learn piano from Lady Tenma. When word got out that they were leaving, she thought they would be gone for good. But no, they had to leave the boy behind. And what does he do? Play piano and read stories? A waste if you ask her. Why bother with things like that when he could further his education? Find a nice young lady to court and marry? If he were more of a proper gentleman she'd push her daughter to marry him. The only reason she allows their friendship is because her husband already approved it in front of others. She'd be ostracized if she banned her daughter from seeing that boy.
Again, because of how close this village is, it's easy to see the animosity Lady Asahina has for the Tenma's. Tsukasa knows she wants nothing more than to get rid of his family. Mafuyu does as well. After all, it wouldn't be the first time she did.
The first were the Otori's, who left after a few years of living in the village, due to Lord Otori finding a bigger village for his family. Mafuyu remembered Emu, the bright and energetic girl, who had left in tears because her mother told her no one would ever love her if she kept acting like the fool she was. Last time she saw her, she was another girl and looking a lot happier. When she spoke with them, she learned the girl was Nene Kusanagi. She was a singer at a local theater and had met Emu a few days after she moved to her village. The two became friends and eventually girlfriends.
Then were the Hinomori's. Who left when their youngest got accepted into a knight training program in a kingdom further away. Shizuku was the first friend Mafuyu made and lost. Once she was gone, her mother told her it was for the best. After all, now with Shizuku gone, she'd have no competition in getting a suitor.
When she visited the Shiraishi Kingdom with her father, she saw Shizuku with a group of girls. All of them laughing and full of smiles. She wasn't going to say anything, thinking just seeing her old friend would be enough. But Shizuku saw her, left her group and pulled her over. There she was introduced to Shizuku's coven of "witches": Airi Momoi, Haruka Kiritani and their newest member, Minori Hanasato. When asked, Haruka explained they were all learning to be healers while also spreading hope to others via music. The "witches" was just for fun, and they had originally considered being "fairies."
The last one's were the Shinonome's. They had left shortly before the Tenma's arrived. Had lived in their village the shortest. Mafuyu had a rough relationship with Ena and Akito. She wasn't sure if she'd call them all friends. But their company was nice until her mother stepped in. She pushed and pushed, snide remark after snide remark, until Lord Shinonome snapped at her. It was one of the few times she's seen someone yell at her mother. One of the few times she's seen no one take her mother's side. She questioned a man over his marriage and right to raise children on his own. Mafuyu knew from Ena that Lord Shinonome wasn't the best father, but when she tried to visit them the next day, they were, having left some time in the night. She has yet to reunite with either of the two siblings and has no idea where they went to.
And now the Tenma's were gone. Or at least, 3 of them. Lord and Lady Tenma were alright. She didn't think much of them, as they were both busy people. Saki was almost always in bed, having been sick since she was very young. But the younger girl was so cheerful and would play piano alongside her brother almost daily. On the days she had extra strength, she'd leave her house and visit one of the other ladies houses. There she would spend time talking with other woman and learning new things. She was very beloved, so when the visits stopped abruptly, there was concern. Mafuyu would see her neighbors stop Tsukasa and ask after his sister. She'd see them knock on the Tenma's house and enter to help Lady Tenma.
And then the news came that the Tenma's were leaving. Their youngest needed medical help they, sadly, could not provide. They left, much like the Shinonome's, during the night. So, it was a shock to all of them to see Tsukasa was still around.
Not that anyone but her mother minded. The boy became very popular when he first arrived. He was loud and outgoing, but also so kind and gentle. He'd play piano for others and his loud voice meant everyone could hear him when he read or made-up stories for the children. Mafuyu remembers when her father told her he approved of her friendship with Tsukasa. He saw that she was happier with him. And he was glad someone could make her feel that way. And she was. She had a friend. But she was also hesitant to say they really are friends. After all, any she had and tried to make all left eventually. And it was never surprising that people around her would always say her mother had a hand in it, because she did.
It may not have been murder or threats, but she knew how to push people in a way that made them not want to be around. She'd say things so minor and unimportant, or speak on things none of her concern, but make a BIG deal out of them (Emu's behavior and Lord Shinonome's parental rights for example).
And as Mafuyu grew, she wished to leave herself. Her mother just got more and more overbearing. She gave her more chores to keep her home. Asked her to join her for tea at a neighbor's. Introduced her the sons of her colleagues, pushing her towards them. She made her take more etiquette classes. Dancing lessons. Equestrian training. And it was so obvious why.
The upside is that her mother can't control who the other women invite. One of the grandmothers in the village would often invite Tsukasa over for tea and he would play piano for her, much like her late son used to. A widowed mother with five children, two her own and three belonging to her long gone brother and sister-in-law, would invite him in the evening and he'd entertain the children while she made dinner. Her dance teacher liked inviting him because he didn't mind providing music or being someone's dance partner if someone was absent or injured.
It all got to be too much when her mother began drafting courting letters. She asked Mafuyu constantly, day by day, about each boy who could potentially be a good husband. She'd ask how her lessons were going. Did she want a need a new dress? Best get one either way, she has to look her best for her suitors. Really, she should brush her hair. What would her future husband think?
She wanted to leave. She wished her father would have taken her with him on his latest trip for work. But, would that just have meant she'd arrive to several suitors awaiting her?? Would she even have suitors waiting for her? Or would her mother have chosen her husband to be by the time they returned??
It was one of her rare days "off" when she confided in Tsukasa about what was happening. The letters, the extra chores and weapons, her fear of losing yet another friend, wanting to leave but being afraid to and not knowing how to do so without being caught.
And this is why she became friends with Tsukasa, he listened to her problems and told her to do it. Leave. Leave when her mother is either gone or asleep. He'd offer to go with her, but he said he'd wait in the village for his family or for a message from them. But if leaving was the thing she needed, she should leave. No one should prevent her happiness, not even her.
That night, while her mother is asleep, a deeper one thanks to the tea Mafuyu made for their evening dinner, she snuck out. She didn't take much with her. She had a letter for her father that she was going to give to Tsukasa. She didn't trust her mother to not tear it apart.
Just as she was about to knock on his door, it opened. Tsukasa looked at her and just smiled. He knew. She didn't know how, but he knew.
He moved to the side and let her in. They stood in silence for a while before Mafuyu handed him the letter. She asked him to give it to her father when he saw him. To not tell her mother or anyone else. She didn't want anyone else knowing why she ran.
And just as she's about to leave, he stops her and gives her a beautiful looking music box. A reminder of him. And a little extra protection. He'll miss her and promises to give her father her letter. With that, he closes the door behind her.
A little extra protection??
Mafuyu thinks nothing of it as she leaves. Quietly and slowly at first. And when she's far enough away, she runs. She runs and runs until she's certain she's far enough away. She isn't sure where she'd go or if she'd run into someone she knew along the way.
The downside to leaving in secrecy was she avoided lighting a lantern. The weather was also getting colder and colder every passing day. She couldn't see anything but her breath. She was cold despite wearing warm clothing. She jumped at every noise and fell because she was being so jumpy while temporarily blind. Her eyes widened when she heard a clink. The music box Tsukasa gave her fell out of her bag.
She's so stupid. She's so, so, stupid. Why did she think this was a good idea? Why didn't she just, light the lantern once the village was out of sight? God, why couldn't she have just, waited? Maybe Tsukasa would get his letter or one of his parents would return soon and she could have left with them. Sure, it meant hiding her letter to father with someone else, but...
She's so, alone and scared and cold. It's so cold. She puts the music box away in her bag again and starts to fumble with her lantern. She might as well light it now, right?
She stops when she hears more rustling. She can hear howling and crickets chirping.
A light breaks through the nearby forest and a group of people walk out. All dressed darkly with their faces hidden. She can't hide. The path she was on led into the forest. Behind her was her old village. These, criminals (?), blocked her path. Just as one of them moved towards her, she ran, crossing into one of the larger fields belonging to one of the men in the village.
She used the field to cut around the group and enter the forest. Her lantern now lit, but very dim as well. She was tired and wanted to stop, but they kept chasing her.
One of them did, eventually, catch up with her. They grabbed onto her and forced her to the ground, tossing her bag towards the others, her lantern broken besides them.
She was scared. She was scared and alone. She cried as the rest of the group emptied her bag. At first they just dug through it and dropped things on the floor. But then one of them decided to just, dump everything out.
She let's out a scream when she hears a loud shatter. Right in front of her, was the music box Tsukasa gifted her. Smashed into pieces.
God, what was she thinking? She should have just stayed in the village.
She closed her eyes and waited for whatever would happen next. Death? Kidnapping?
She felt the person holding her on to ground get off her. She could hear the others whispering before they screamed.
Did someone notice? Was there another traveler?
She opened her eyes and that's when she saw it.
Right where the broken music box once was, was a girl who looked ethereal. She was small and held a large scythe in her hands. Her eyes seemed empty, but when she looked at Mafuyu they were so warm and kind and loving. Her eyes then turned to group robbing her, turning cold and protective. She slams her scythe into the ground, causing the ground to shake. She tells the group to leave. Leave and take nothing. She had more power than they could believe, and when one of them scoffed, she used her scythe to turn a tree into ash. Not wanting to risk it, the group left, dragging some members with them.
Once they were gone, the girl walked over to where Mafuyu was still sitting on the floor. She held a hand out and gave her a gentle smile. She asked if she was okay now. Did she need anything?
Who...who was she? Where did she...
The music box...
The girl is named Kanade. She was created by Tsukasa years ago.
He asked her to protect his friend. To take care of her and help her find somewhere she'd be happy.
Oh...
A little extra protection.
Now for some additional information:
Magic is real!! Shizuku's coven of "witches" are actually witches. They just say they aren't.
While magic is real, not everyone has it, and those who do usually have an affinity for a certain type. For example, MMJ specialize in healing magic, while Tsukasa specializes in protective magic.
Magic users can use other types of magic, just to a lesser/smaller extent.
No one in their village knows Tsukasa has magic. Because it's protective, he does a lot of things in secret. It's why his parents and Saki had to leave. He tried, but he isn't a healer.
People who use magic go by different names, some call themselves mages, some go by wizards, some choose not to label themselves as anything. But they're all magic users, no real difference between them.
When Mafuyu told Tsukasa she was leaving, he knew chances were she'd leave at night, hence him staying up to give her Kanade.
Kanade's feelings for Mafuyu are heavily based off those Tsukasa had. She does, eventually, begin to grow her own feelings for the girl she's protecting.
Mafuyu's mom was definitely a reason why people left the village. Most people only invite her because she'd cry about it if they didn't.
Mrs. Asahina's beef with the Tenma's also comes from the fact they aren't generational wealth. They became rich. Tsukasa still wears his old clothes rather than get new, tailored, clothing.
Whenever she asks, he tells her he has no interest in that. Why would he want a spouse who's first concern is what his clothes are made out of? He wasn't going to marry anyone who was only interested in his family's wealth. They had to like him.
Mrs. Asahina's comment towards Emu was specifically about the younger's dream to become an adventurer like her late grandfather. She thought Emu should stop playing around with foolish ideas and sign up for classes on how to be a proper lady. Told her that if he were around, her grandfather would be disappointed his granddaughter was acting like a fool, thinking she could play in dirt all day, every day. Emu left the village crying and wasn't herself until her sister took her a theater, which is where she met Nene.
The Shinonome's ended up separating when they left. Ena and Akito went one way and their father another. As much as it hurt to hear Mrs. Asahina say what she said, they knew she was right. And Ena was the one who ultimately decided she was leaving and taking Akito. If he wished to write to them, they would be in the Aoyagi Kingdom.

so, i've been thinking about this kinda a lot lately, since my post about kanade and tsukasa running into each other during their trips to the hospital to visit their respective family, but for how common the headcanons of Tenma Kanade are, i don't think they're accurate to her, or even the tenmas', character. in fact, i feel like they do a disservice to kanade.
first, i want to talk about why i think this happened in the first place, pulling from why toya is a tenma. there's a lot of parallels between toya and kanade, from how their stories present themselves to the journeys they take to how the fandom treats them, but that's a topic for a completely different post. but, the importance the tenmas hold in toya's story, and the core reason of why he was taken in by them, tells us a lot about why kanade is often put in the same collective.
aoyagis are close to the tenmas, this is why they met in the first place. toya would be taken to the tenmas so he could learn piano from their mother, a piano teacher, whenever harumichi was too busy to teach toya himself, or simply felt like she would do a better job since she's a professional at teaching piano. through this, toya met tsukasa, and rather quickly the three children became close friends, with tsukasa canonically looking to toya like a little brother. they often include him in family activities, and especially after toya had run away from classical would do whatever they could manage to give him a safe space at their home.
and it's that last point that makes their relationship so important. harumichi is not a good father, this is common knowledge, and from the way they interact toya's mother isn't very close to him or particularly hands-on; she calls him "toya-san" during Find a Way Out and that's very not normal for a parent to call their child. this lack of connection to his family is likely a big factor behind toya's formality when talking, the fact he's still yet to convert to referring to kohane and an by their personal names. akito is irreplaceably important to him (and akito probably got annoyed really early on at toya calling him "shinonome-san" and insisted that, as partners, they shouldn't call each other by their family names), and while the vivids are unquestionably important by this point, i don't think toya's thought about it. because his mother, his own mother, calls him "toya-san". traditional and typical ways of talking to people aren't things he's used to.
but the tenmas gave toya that normality. they gave him a family, whether he thinks of them with that phrase or not, that he can have a normal life with, rather than what the aoyagis have given him. the desire to be normal is such an important for him that it fuelled his escape from classical, as we see in The First Concerto. which, if we take a moment to look at someone else in a similar familial dynamic of being faced with impossible and unhealthy expectations by a family you love dearly, we can take a little bit from mafuyu's story and the way she never even considered getting out to be an option before mizuki put it in front of her in Our Escape For Survival. it's possible, and in my opinion quite likely, that toya only considered his life with the aoyagis to be "not normal" because of his dynamic with the tenmas. they are normal, the way they talk to each other and love each other is normal. they give that to him. his family did not.
the tenmas are toya's safe place from the aoyagis, something that akito and vivid street would come to share. they gave someone a family who didn't know what family meant.
so back to kanade, this leads to the question of whether this dynamic and relationship would work for her. and, without even thinking about it for very long, the answer is no. kanade isn't lacking a loving family, she lost that family. she had it, and now it's gone. toya never had one before the tenmas. and given the importance of memories and her family to kanade's story and growth (every kanade unit event being connected to her past, Let's Enjoy Together! Spojoy Park having a flashback to her father teaching her how to throw, both her colourful festival and bloom festival cards being tied to her memories, the entire reason she makes music being because she wants to be like her father), it feels unfair to try and take the yoisaki out of kanade. and while i'm not saying that's what the tenmas would do, that's what kanade would feel is happening were she to be taken in the same way toya was. she's not looking for a new family, there isn't an absence of love; those who gave it are now gone, but the entire point of kanade's story has been the understanding that the love she remembers can be enough to move her forward.
none of this is to say i don't want kanade to interact with and get close to the tenmas, outside of more content for the relationships she does have, all three tenmas are really high on my list of characters i want kanade to have prolonged interaction with. i think the tenmas could teach a lot to kanade that she needs to learn, all three of them have different lessons that i think kanade needs carved into her soul to be able to complete her journey of healing. but what kanade needs is to open herself up to a new type of love. she doesn't need a new family, she doesn't want a new family; her mother and father, the kindness and care and love that they provided her, shaped kanade into the person she is today, she knows this unquestionably, and is actively trying to learn new things from the way they raised her and the memory of how they interacted with each other. what kanade needs is to open herself up to love beyond them, something she's slowly doing (Standing Next to the Kind and Gentle You is the biggest example of this in action, while The Tone that Played on That Day is the actual realisation of what she needs).
to make kanade part of the tenmas, in the same way toya is, goes against the progression of her story and what family means to her. the tenmas provide a family to those who don't have one; kanade does. she has a family that is impossibly and irreplacably important to her, even if they're no longer with her. toya didn't understand what love was before meeting the tenmas, but kanade was raised in it. love exists at the very core of her entire character, serving as the motivation to why she made 25ji Nightcord de. and why she works so hard to help its members. she wants to give to the world what her parents gave to her through her music. and i'm certain that all three of the tenmas would recognise that the moment they hear one of her songs.

Top 3 Oshi no Ko characters?
Hi!
Ruby Hoshino
Tumblr media
Ruby's arc (which might very well end up in tragedy, I know) is by far my favorite. It stays on stand-by at the beginning, but when it kicks in, it starts rolling and it is imho the most powerful one. Ruby embracing her inner darkness is amazing on multiple levels.
On the one hand I love how good she is at manipulating people. She clearly inherited Hikaru's talent at this, far more than Aqua imho. The TV arc is basically Ruby foreshadowing Hikaru's whole modus operandi. She sets up a scandal, fixes it and comes up on top. She is so good nobody could really accuse her of anything either. She just makes use of people's flaws and personalities for her schemes. That is exactly what Hikaru does. She just has less nefarious goals in mind (more or less).
On the other hand the deep dive in her past as Sarina is the best part of the series. It is incredibly heartbreaking to see not only her pain at the hand of the illness, but her parents' abandonment too. Finally, Ruby's spiral ending, as she realizes Aqua is sensei is just a perfect catharsis to the whole situation.
Right now, we have to see how her story ends. I can think of 3 main possibilities:
Ruby keeps on being an idol to honor Aqua and Ai's sacrifice (not very sound thematically and kind of mediocre, but the whole ending is by this point- plus it would fit Ruby and Aqua's foiling)
Ruby stops being an idol and keeps on living normally (the most coherent positive ending, as it would show Aqua's sacrifice was pointless and selfish - still, I don't think we are going this path)
Ruby kills herself in what is the most tragic ending possible (it would fit with some set-up, like her unsolved idealizatioin of Aqua, which borders into incest, Crow's girl warnings to Aqua, etc. - but it would be gut wrenching tonally... that said Aqua's death did not fit the tone and set-up either, so...)
Probably we are going with the first option. Despite this possible lukewarm ending, I think Ruby will still be my favourite.
2. Hikaru Kamiki
Tumblr media
Hikaru is a great villain and he deserved a better conclusion to his arc (either positive or negative), than the one he got, so that Aqua could have his sad pretty boy moment :P
Anyway, Hikaru embodies the anti-theme, as he loves wrong and is loved wrongly. I loved the exploration of his past, as an abusive victim. His spiral throughout the movie was gut-wrenching. Moreover, his ability to fool the twins and the readers by using the movie itself was great and it could have been such a cool set-up to a wonderful climax. I think we were robbed of a confrontation between him and Ruby to be honest. Not to talk about a final deep dive into his mind.
2. Ai Hoshino
Tumblr media
Ai is on pair with Hikaru. Her arc is short, but wonderful and incredibly impactful. Hers is a perfectly written tragedy, with a powerful catharsis. What is more, her presence remains key throughout the whole story. In a sense, she is the heart of the series... which is why the ending shifting the focus on Aqua is disappointing... Sure, he and Ruby are the protagonists, but the conflict and main mystery and driving force of the story all lie within Ai. She is why people started reading/watching Oshi No Ko. The story should have ended with the answer to "who was Ai really?". (See, this is as if in Monster the climax decided to focus on Tenma's past in Japan instead than on Johan LOL...)
These are my top three. What about yours?

3 - What do you think is a missed opportunity/something you wish was done better?
IVE SAID IT BEFORE AND ILL SAY IT AGAIN! TOYA AND AN'S WORLD LINK CARDS SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE SAME DAMN STYLE AS KOHANE AND AKITOS. ITS INJUSTICE AND ILL NEVER STOP BEING PISSED
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love these cards so much i would kill for 2 more
7 - What's a common headcanon you disagree with?
It's not THAT common nowadays but I don't like Kanade as a Tenma, it takes away a lot from who she is as a person to do with her own family situation. Kanade doesn't need to be adopted by the Tenmas she has a family who she loves a lot, regardless of their states of alive or dead in the story she still HAS parents who affected her positively. She doesn't need to be babied into a forced dynamic with the Tenmas when it doesn't make that much sense for her to be there.
A good comparison obviously is Toya, he came from a background of abuse and when he was younger knew the Tenmas as saw them (specifically Tsukasa) as siblings and as a positive in a life which was pretty negative.
Kanade doesn't need this, yes she might have been living on her own and has her own issues but that doesn't mean she would want a new family in the Tenmas.
Also even if Kanade would need a new family i feel as if people only pick Tsukasa because he already has Toya. If anyone would be seen as family to Kanade, it would likely be her unit or Honami. The Tenmas of all characters feels like a very odd pick of anyone besides just the fact Tsukasa is Tsukasa.
tldr: i just dont really think Kanade Tenma makes that much sense for her character at all and i feel like people only make her one due to Tsukasa already being a brother figure to Toya

Is Wonderland Sekai the same as in canon? And how did AURORA end up forming then?
"Is Wonderland Sekai the same as in canon?"
Yes and no.
Yes, because in canon, Tsukasa's SEKAI formed when he was a child according to the VIRTUAL SINGER World Link event— but also no, because his SEKAI isn't influenced by WxS in this AU, so certain details have changed.
For example, the Miku in Tsukasa's SEKAI doesn't speak using many onomatopoeias because that was a habit she picked up from Emu. Some other things are different (particularly the plushies) because of the fact that the other members of AURORA affect Tsukasa, which in turn affects his SEKAI.
"And how did AURORA end up forming then?"
It's complicated, to say the least. I'll try to summarize the events leading up to their formation as concisely as possible (assuming I don't eat my words and end up going on a tangent again).
All four of them discovered Vivid Street individually during their time in middle school.
Tsukasa started composing tracks at home, finding inspiration in the atmosphere there shortly after RAD WEEKEND. He never actually saw the event himself, though, nor did he ever perform much on Vivid Street (he was a little, uh... distracted).
Mafuyu started performing at livehouses by herself, venting her suppressed feelings and thoughts through street music— finding safety in this town where it felt as if no one from her school or her parents could ever confront her.
Honami became a regular attendee to various livehouses in Vivid Street, similarly moved like how Mafuyu and Tsukasa were. She'd often take videos of live performances and show them to the Tenma siblings as well as Kanade (since she's still her housekeeper and they have a common interest in music). Honami is also a regular at WEEKEND GARAGE, and is good friends with An.
I think now is also a good time to share that Honami never had her falling out with Ichika and Saki like in canon because of her relationship to Tsukasa. Their common interest in street music allowed them to become better friends (even though they were always technically childhood friends, Honami was never really close to him), and knowing Tsukasa he'd quite literally chase her down and make her talk to Saki if he absolutely had to (the last thing he wants is Saki suffering any more than she has to).
Shizuku got lost one day while heading to a store and ended up in Vivid Street, witnessing one of Mafuyu's performances on the street. She was so deeply moved by this performance that she wasn't able to forget about it, even during her time in Cheerful*Days as an idol. After she quit the group years later, the sound of Mafuyu's singing was still ringing in her ears...
These events set the stage for the formation of AURORA.
Thanks for sending in an ask, by the way!
