my thoughts on ep 1

pros:

ZORO'S ENTIRE INTRO SEQUENCE AHHHHHHHH

I love love love that they introed Baroque Works so early on in ZORO'S INTRO because iirc we were never shown how zoro was contacted by them earlier but it was just said that he was, and this was a damn good way of linking up w them later on

Shanks' character design is actually not that bad HAHAHAHA i was expecting worse from the trailer

Buggy and his crew dude whose name I cannot remember FUCKING SLAYEDDDDD

also the wanted pictures flashing in front of the pirates are so cool

BINKS SAKE WAS PLAYED

Helmeppo was pretty well done too

Also I just couldn't take the fight against Morgan seriously because, seriously. omg it's embarrassing that he's seen as a threat.

Idk how I feel about the execution scene but I did watch it in english and then in japanese and yaknow the latter just hits different

err also they changed up zoro's recruitment. idk. hmmm.

I think by itself, the show's pretty decent and all these little changes might make more sense in this new world. But it's abit hard not to compare it to the original op, especially because I've always been a huge fan of zoro's recruitment. It fits with their original dynamics, but maybe here, their dynamics are different as well so I'm gonna have to change the way I watch this show now. It's a new world, with new characters and new backstories.

Overall, solid work for a live action.

Saw a patch note of a recent update in which BLU Scout FINALLY got his team-colored pants… After 17 years of wearing RED team’s brownish ones! What the hell 😆 I mean, I’m glad that they care enough to fix it, but they didn’t bother for almost two decades and suddenly BOOM blue pants.

Wells inside Barry's body, Sherloque Wells inside Barry's body, basically every Wells inside Barry's body, Barry Allen as the lead in a spontaneous superpowered musical, Barry pretending to be a hacker, Barry pretending to be a crime lord, Barry being infected/possessed by a Big Bad, and Barry Allen as a really dorky drunk guy (more than once)-

I actually really want Eugene to officiate the Varigo wedding because one, it’s not a very official or proper wedding. If anything, it’s something Rapunzel and Varian put together in one week and is essentially just a giant party where they blow stuff up and eat cake. Varian totally asks Eugene thirty minutes beforehand if he will officiate and after five minutes of sobbing, he agrees.

And two, because I want him to say this line-

“It has been a joy to watch your distracting childish rivalry turn into a distracting childish courtship, which will undoubtedly turn into a distracting childish marriage.”
