Hey y'all, it's me and I'm back. I told y'all I don't have a PAC uploading schedule 😭. I honestly just do it whenever I feel that I have the energy and then recharge. Instead of starting with physical appearance I think I want to start off with what they're like. Right off the bat their energy is very easy to tap into (in a good way). In fact, after I was done with pile two, I kept on getting intuitive messages for two whole days on what they're like. This whole entire pile I didn't even have to draw a single card. at all. They're extremely talkative, and I wouldn't be surprised if you constantly recieved messages and signs from them. I'd imagine it would be like recieving a loud notification on your phone because honestly whatever chance they get, their higher self constantly is there checking in on you.

They have an incredible sense of humor first of all. They will never fail to make you laugh. I hope this makes sense, but they're almost like a walking four leaf clover or lucky charm. This is going to sound weird and no shade to your S/O but they're the type of person you wouldn't expect to be so smart. Usually people think of smart people as like, these serious nerdy looking people, but this person is genuinely so so smart and good at talking to others.

of course i can do hecate cabin headcanons! i love hecate, she's one of my favorite of the gods. also, fun fact, there's a lot of debate on where hecate originated, like they think that maybe she was an anatolian goddess that the greeks "stole," and she also has some egyptian history? i did some research on her real quick and it was honestly fascinating! anyways, here are the hecate cabin hcs!

something to note about hecate kids is that all of them, every single one, is kind of a mystery in their own respect

there's a lot of mystery surrounding hecate, so even the most open of hecate kids is going to have something they're keeping to themselves

hecate kids, specifically before they're kind of taught to master their abilities, have a habit of accidentally spelling people

like, for example, say a hecate kid has a really annoying kid in their bio class that won't shut up

if they think really hard about how much they want that person to shut their mouth, magically, they will

it's something they were never able to explain

until they were claimed by hecate, of course

they also all have dark eyes

not necessarily a good color, per se, but there's something about their eyes that are dark

most hecate kids get her green eyes, which could only be described as "enchanting" of course

the hecate cabin often smells like burned sage and/or incense, and always has a smoky hue because of that

there are star charts and moon charts and things like that literally everywhere, practically littering the cabin floor

Well, time for some good old fashioned escapism?! Why do we read, pray, play video games, watch television, or live any of the other pleasures of life when the world has taken a turn? To escape. Its okay to turn off the news and to light the candles at 300am to summon demons for fun realistically, is it worst than whats happening now? (im joking) we are going through an era of overwhelming disappointment, we feel abandonment as the wealth gap grows and the people in power show their little care of the working class. Magic has always been a tool of the working class because divine principle values not of worldly possessions only that of the will to pursue higher knowledge. It is more likely for a camel to pass through an eye of the needle that a wealthy person reach heaven. The divine has no place for those who would sacrifice human goodness for material gains and so much material gains it subjects the people around them to misery. Magic for you is a tool for when we have nothing else we can rise in our own way.

This is forreal a new hot girl era. Like what most modern esoterica would state, apathy in the working is a virtue for when you lust for results you only manifest more lust for results. We must not wish for we can only take, we are building out independence as magicians and as people. Its the era to grow using our perception and criticism of the world around us, for a magician any act is to change, to make. When we realize the world around us has not changed the world has shifted far from progress so we must excite change ourselves, we must create the world and environment we can hope to live in. Being critical, learning of the world around you adds to your magic. Magic and science hold hands in a marriage they only add to each other and never take away. Be fair, learn, put in the effort to understand yourself, your skills, your own personal morals and values and be the change you were hoping for.

Remus Lupin head canons i’ve been collecting for 10+ years

- this hoe loves books, i know that’s a common head canon but let me dive deeper;

- he definitely is checking out matilda level amounts of books from the library every week before going to hogwarts.

- homeschooled by his mother 100% and she would make him write book reports so he learned to love annotating books

- cut to lily seeing him writing in a book in 1st year and being absolutely disgusted but eager to make friends so she asks him his favorite books and authors.

- remus goes on like an hour long tangent about tolkien and c.s. lewis and how much he loves fantasy and how he’s so excited he gets to be at hogwarts because it’s so close to his escape from his lycanthropy as a child.

- lily tells him all about literature and they start a book club right then and there.

- remus also studied piano from his mom as well, and then eventually when she couldn’t teach him anymore his parents saved up to pay for a teacher.

- he loves his piano teacher and over summer breaks goes back and takes lessons

- bonds with sirius because of this as sirius had to learn violin to become a “well rounded heir”. they play duet covers as entertainment for gryffindor parties and everyone fucking loves it.

- eventually mary joins in and plays guitar and they have a cute little peter paul and mary vibe going on.

- remus is so outspoken, and truly always the first to be informed on politics or news

- was very forthcoming on his views about the war, along with james and sirius. i believe remus was the most “radical” of them though, and wanted freedom/ equality for all creatures not just wizards.

- he also felt unease at the ministry and wanted systematic changes as well as wanting to fight against voldemort.

- extremely distrustful of dumbledoor towards the end of the war, and it caused division between him and sirius until the second war when sirius realized remus had been right.

- remus had a magical proclivity for defense, and was a great dueler. the only person who he was evenly matched with in his class was sirius. they often fought to draws. they absolutely keep count of their wins.

- remus, lily, and mary all collectively give james and sirius their music tastes. they have new records every time they come home from break.

- remus is absolutely a stoner and loves smoking joints, reading, and listening to music during his free time.

- him and sirius smoke together sometimes but remus smokes a lot more than sirius because it really helps him with his chronic pain and depression.

- oh remus rolling a joint is like the most sexy thing anyone has ever seen. sirius frequently uses those memories for….personal time.

ok go off!!!! or somefin it’s time to commit to that regimen. whether that’s eating healthier, taking more time for yourself, or, if you’re like me, trying to practice more self kindness, creating an organized structure/routine is likely to help. so, for example, i’ll take my own life into account: i’ll often think certain thoughts can make me feel bad about myself without me totally realizing it, and lately i’ve been trying to change how i talk to myself. i use a systematic approach, in that i recognize the thought, then force myself to replace it with a positive one, instead. it seems silly at first, but the more that i stick to this method, the more success i’m seeing! this is just my example, but can be applied to your own situation! it’s always tough to start something new, but a month or two in, or maybe even a week, you see improvement. & it’s ok to make mistakes! you may be focusing too much on what you lack, or your shortcomings. there may also be setbacks keeping you from achieving your goals, or maybe you’re convinced that you made the wrong decision.  know that it’s always darkest before the dawn!! you may be in a bad place right now, and if you are, consider how you can make things easier on yourself. instead of letting yourself be a martyr, or feel powerless, do what you know will make you feel better. like that new god forsaken ariana venti song, be your own damn best… friend. it’s wise counsel. both of the readings above this are about the future, but for you, i think this is very much about the present. with all cards facing you except temperance, there is a story unfolding, where you complete some unfinished business, and find peace. the peace part is likely in the future, with it being reversed and all, but the time for action seems imminent, or already happening. i think you probably know what you need to do. whatever those plans are that you’ve been sitting on, make them happen! i just keep getting “declare yourself openly”!!! so do with that what you will.  you may even discover some sort of missing truth, keeping you from seeing things fully. you may also be swept up into the tides of change, and witness all the elements fit seamlessly into place. so hey! enjoy!

Nakamori Aoko is shown to be just as smart as Kaito in their introduction, willing to use anything as an improvised weapon when needed and she gets along well with everyone in her class. I'm glad she had a nice party with her other friends like Momose Keiko. They're cute together. She befriended Hakuba straight away, stays in touch while he's abroad and was super sweet to the unapproachable Akako, charming the rather amoral witch into protecting her. She must be well liked by the boys and girls at school as well as leave a good impression on adults and small children (Kenta-kun saw her as a sisterly figure, I just know it). I imagine her regularly supporting her Mum and Dad at work and doing her best to make sure whenever they are free they can have a good time together. Her doing archery is so cool! It's not fair she's the only love interest without a martial art, were you thinking Kyuudou or western archery? Both suit her.

Something I don't like about DCMK and anime in general is that the girls are mostly reduced to love interests.

I thought of Kyūdō! Because I think Aoko would look great in traditional clothing and with her hair tied in a ponytail!

Honestly, I really like the idea of ​​her being the president or vice president of her school's archery club.

I can see Kaito putting an apple on his head and telling him to shoot it!

I also think she could be a baseball player (specifically a batter) or even practice Kendo (I don't know, the way she swings the mop gives me sword vibes).

I like the headcanon that Saguru knows fencing and that he and Aoko bond because they both play sword sports.

Other interests I thought of for her are gymnastics and horse riding, I like to think that she and Kaito went to gymnastics classes together since they were little, horse riding she picked up by researching more about London culture because she wanted to get closer to Saguru. I also like to believe that she would start practicing magic for Akako! Learning to read tarot as a way to bond with her. I think Aoko is great and there is so much potential in her, it's a shame that even she has been relegated to the background in her manga.

Astrology

This class is mostly useful if you work with stars, the moon, planets, etc. Learn about star signs, moon phases, and how to use them. You'll learn a lot about yourself, as well, and some science / pseudo-science. A rather eventful class.

Auras, Energies, & Chakras

This class is closer to alchemy than witchcraft, but all spells are essentially energy with object to focus said energy, and this class will increase your power in every type of spell. It's a lot less factual than other classes, and will mostly rely on your own experience and intuition.

Herbs, Crystals, Etc

Mostly memorisation, but this class will be very useful to you. Honestly, probably one of the most boring classes that's offered, but the lesson content are things you will definetly use. Some practical knowledge, some magical knowledge, and some fun historical tidbits.

Kitchen Magic

Edible magic, anyone? A class on how to turn even the mundane act of cooking or setting tea into a spell. Also good if you don't have a lot of money to buy fancy things like candles, incense, crystals... you can use just what's already in your kitchen instead! This class has some memorisation, a lot of variation, and a lot of fun.

Meanings & Associations of Concepts & Constructs in Witchcraft

The magical associations or meanings behind things like colors, months, numbers, and more. Learn about concepts and constructs in the world of witchcraft. Sounds very boring probably, but it's an engaging class that will be very useful to you in a wide arrange of spells and magics.

Nature in Magic

If you care about the enviroment a lot, if you're on a budget, or if you're looking for what type of witch you want to be, this is a good class to take. It's all about how to use local, natural resources, and how nature and your surroundings reflect your magic.

Paganism: Magic in Religion

If your magic interacts with your religion, or if your religion is a large part of your daily life, it's highly reccomended to take this class. If you're not religious, but curious, you're more than welcome to take it too, as long as you remain respectful. This class will teach you how to balance your religion with your witchcraft, how magic can be a religion, and how to work with various deities.

Runes

This class includes a lot of memorising, and a bit of history. However, the assignments are rather fun, and if you work with runes or Norse gods, this will be a very useful class.

Stereotypes & the Reality About Magic

We all know that the green skin and pointed hat are mostly bullshit, but those are not the only misconceptions about witches. Many of which, you're probably unaware of! If you're curious where these stereotypes came from, and what the truth of them is, this is the class that will teach you. It's also a required class, because we like our students to be well informed.

Tarot

A very beginner's course to learn how to learn tarot, some tarot basics, and some of the things nobody talks about, such as how to properly bond with a deck. A simple and engaging class with fun assignments.

The History of Witchcraft

The history of witchcraft is much more than just witch trials. Of course, that was an important chapter in our history as well, and will be covered in this class. If you enjoy history, or if you believe it's important to know about those who came before you, this is a good class to take.

The Practical Aspects of Magic

The mostly non-magical parts of magic that most people either forget about completely, or think are too basic to bother including in lessons. If you're a more experienced witch, this class might be a tad boring, but it's a required class. It's also one of the most usefull classes, regardless of what type of magic you practice.

My Yuu's relationship with NRC Facility as requested by this ask;

Crowley: Dire Crowley is an irresponsible father figure who encourages Yuu’s “creativity” as long as he doesn’t get caught, and it can’t be blamed on him. The reason is that often Yuu's inventions benefit Crowley, such as the private bathroom until the ol’ faithful incident. He has Yuu handle any problems the school has.

Yuu—surprisingly—looks up to the guy despite knowing he’s a bit irresponsible due to Daddy issues. Also, he lets Yuu do whatever he wants, which is a bonus. Personality-wise, they get along great; however, Yuu tends to act like the straight man to him. (Ironic considering how gay Yuu is for Silver.)

Trien: The responsible uncle Yuu never listens to. He likes that Yuu is one of the few eager to learn in his class, as he sees it as a book club. (Yuu tends to critique history like it’s a book.)

“Yuu, you cannot critique history!” “I can if it’s stupid!"

He hates Lucifer on a primal level. (Other than Grim, Yuu doesn’t like cats. [Monster.])

Crewel: Often a disciplinarian to train the sick puppy that is Yuu. Yuu often gets smacked because he can’t hold back the sex jokes. (To be fair, when you carry a whip—ow!) He believes Yuu is determined to turn the rest of his hair white due to his antics in the lab. As of late, most of his lectures come with an intermission of, “Yuu no! Bad boy!”

Yuu likes his coat and thinks he should look into Dalmatian prints.

Vargas: Vargas thinks Yuu is in great shape, but he’s not; Yuu just often throws himself into situations that make his body go “shit!” and activates his adrenaline in hopes of survival. As such, Vargas pushes Yuu during gym, thinking the other’s holding back when he’s genuinely out of shape.

Yuu tries to avoid him and fails.

Sam: Sam values Yuu as a customer and has even offered the boy a tarot reading on his love life. (Yuu decides to pass this up, so he always has hope things may work.) Yuu finds all his items fascinating.

Writing has always been part of my life. It was the thing that I was good at. Always in the top English class at school - whenever I couldn't get high marks in English; it really tore down my confidence.

But what really generated my love for writing was fanfiction. That's what kept me going in the hardest time of my life. Especially custom made fanfics with a character that I was shipped with.

And I just want to give back to people who may be in that state of mind. Who feel like they can't talk about their interests to other people because they feel awkward or weird (btw you aren't. you're allowed to like what you like. as long as it doesn't hurt you or others.)

So a ton of theater stuffs going on (would you believe me if I told you I have 6 different theater-based DR's?? teehee)

I do a ton of reading, I love books; it's one of my dreams to have a Hobbit-inspired book room in my future house, complete with a circle door

I have been shifting(minishifting partially, still shifting though!!!) since I was around 8 I guess? I didn't realize that was what I was doing at the time, and around 2021 I found out about shifting through a classmate (who brought it up at the most random time possible, an ELA class lol)

The first actual DR I ever made was a My Hero Academia reality, and by birds all mighty that script was ROUGH

But I still hold it close to my heart, even though it was so cringy

I took a break from shifting for like 7 months to a year at most, I believed in it, I just felt more content in my CR, but now I am at a point where I want to explore and be fully happy and learn and grow as myself!

At this time, Margaret decided to immerse herself in less emotional pursuits—her studies. In her third year, she was introduced to additional subjects, and out of the entire list, she found herself particularly interested in Numerology, Divination, and the Study of Ancient Runes. She found solace in studying magical symbols, ancient languages, and numerical prophecies.

Numerology is one of the divinatory sciences, claiming that each letter corresponds to a specific number and that the sum of the numbers in each word has its own meaning. The roots of this science stretch back into deep antiquity; many ancient teachings employed the so-called "magic of numbers." Given Margaret’s inclination toward analysis and logical thinking, she eagerly delved into the world of numbers, attempting to decipher the hidden messages within them.

Divination represented another aspect of magical science, exploring various forms of fortune-telling and methods for interpreting different phenomena. Initially skeptical, Margaret gradually began to see something more in it. Tarot cards and palmistry particularly piqued her interest.

"I’m not sure it’s always possible to accurately predict the future," she once told Emma, sharing her thoughts. "But sometimes I think that intuition and symbols can help us better understand ourselves."

"And you know what’s most interesting?" she added. "Certain numbers have started to repeat themselves in my life since I began studying them, and I’m starting to realize they hold a deeper meaning for me."

Ancient runes, on the other hand, were a form of writing that witches and wizards had used hundreds of years ago. By studying them, one could gain insight into the magic of the ancestors. Margaret was drawn to the depth and mystery of the runes; they demanded not only knowledge but also intuitive understanding, as if they were speaking to her, revealing their secrets. She attended the classes together with Percy Weasley, who was extremely ambitious and eager to work at the Ministry of Magic, for which he needed to study everything possible.

These subjects required great concentration and perseverance, but Margaret enjoyed immersing herself in the mysteries of magical symbols, ancient languages, and numerical prophecies.

Another subject worth highlighting is Muggle Studies, where the behavior and everyday life of Muggles are studied from a wizard’s perspective. This elective was not mandatory and was intended for those who grew up in magical families and knew little about the ordinary world.

Muggle Studies was considered one of the easiest subjects, and many students chose it to lighten their academic load. But not Margaret, who had grown up in the Muggle world and knew their lifestyle and daily life well. Unlike her, her friends Sophie and Emma decided to take Muggle Studies. Sophie had grown up near Muggle villages and had some idea about the lives of ordinary people, but her knowledge was superficial. Emma, on the other hand, had lived exclusively in magical lands and had practically no contact with the Muggle world. Both were pure-blood witches and were eager to learn how people live without magic.

The girls never talked about their backgrounds—it didn’t seem necessary and never came up. Having met on September 1st after their sorting, they had always stuck together and continued to get along. But Margaret’s surprising background was accidentally revealed when Sophie and Emma once again struggled with their Muggle Studies homework.

“I don’t understand why Muggles are so fascinated by these… what do they call them… movies?” Sophie complained, pondering the latest assignment. “And what is a television? Is it like a magical mirror?”

“I thought it was some sort of device that lets you see over long distances,” added Emma, looking a bit confused. “But these instructions in the textbook are so confusing.”

Margaret, sitting with her friends in the library, noticed their confusion and decided to help. She had already explained basic things to them several times, such as how a telephone works or the significance of money in the Muggle world. But this time, her explanation truly shocked them.

“A television isn’t a magical mirror,” she began with a slight smile. “It’s a device that shows moving pictures and sounds. Muggles use it for entertainment, education, and news. Movies are stories filmed with cameras and actors. It’s like a play, but recorded on film so it can be watched anytime.”

Emma and Sophie looked at her in surprise.

“How do you know all this, Margaret?” Sophie asked, narrowing her eyes slightly. “Even without attending the classes, you explain things better than Professor Quirrell.”

“Well…,” Margaret replied, realizing that she would now have to tell the truth. “I grew up in the Muggle world until I was eleven and didn’t know anything about my magical heritage. My mother was a witch, but she never revealed it to anyone, and after her death… her family didn’t stay in touch with us. I was like a normal child, growing up and going to a regular school, never suspecting that one day I’d receive a letter from Hogwarts and everything would become a bit complicated.”

Her friends froze, processing what they had just heard.

“You’re… a half-blood?” Emma asked, wide-eyed with disbelief.

“You could say that,” Margaret nodded. “But when I found out about my heritage, everything changed—an intensive course on the magical world, learning all the details, and this school.”

Margaret felt the silence hanging in the air. Emma sat motionless, her gaze fixed somewhere in the distance, as if trying to comprehend something important. Margaret felt a slight unease, but still decided to ask the question that had been on her mind:

“Does it matter if I’m pure-blood, half-blood, or Muggle-born?” Her voice was calm, but a note of uncertainty crept in.

Sophie immediately perked up, her eyes lighting up warmly.

“Of course not! You’re my best friend, and that doesn’t affect how I feel about you at all.” She looked at Margaret with such sincerity that Margaret immediately felt relieved.

Emma was still silent, lost in her thoughts. Her face showed concentration but not hostility.

“But how did you become the top student in our house if you didn’t know anything before?” she asked, her voice full of genuine curiosity. “You always seem to understand everything in class right away, and you have excellent grades.”

“It’s all thanks to my grandfather. He helped me adapt and understand what magic is,” Margaret explained, smiling, though her voice held a hint of sadness. “He knows a lot and loves sharing his knowledge. In the beginning, I often consulted with him, and then I grew to love reading books about magic and studying them on my own. I was very motivated to live up to his expectations and become as smart as he is.”

“That’s amazing,” Sophie finally said, her voice full of admiration. “So much has happened, yet it made you one of the strongest witches in our year.”

Sophie glanced at Emma, expecting her support, but Emma was slow to respond. Margaret began to doubt whether it was wise to continue the conversation, but when Emma finally noticed that both her friends were looking at her, she sighed and raised her eyes.

“It’s… it’s just unexpected,” she began, searching for the right words. “I never really thought about it. I knew there were many mixed-blood students, but I didn’t think it was so close. You never seemed like one of them. For me, everything related to the Muggle world seems so distant… unfamiliar.”

Emma paused as if still considering what to say next. Margaret felt her heart pound harder, fearing that this revelation might strain their friendship. But then Emma looked at her and smiled, albeit a bit tensely.

“But, if you think about it, it doesn’t change anything, right?” she said, as if convincing herself. “You’re still the same Margaret as before. We’ve already been through a lot together, and what’s the point of dwelling on where you were born or who your parents were?”

Margaret sighed in relief, feeling the tension inside her ease.

“Thank you, Emma,” she replied quietly, with sincere gratitude. “I’m glad you think that way. I don’t want this to change anything between us either.”

Sophie, always more straightforward, added, “Of course, nothing will change! We’re here to learn magic and support each other, not to discuss someone’s background. What matters is who you are, not where you came from.”

Emma nodded, her smile becoming more natural. They had always known her as a smart and determined girl, but now they understood the challenges she had faced to become that way.

Margaret felt her heart warm with gratitude. She knew there would be difficulties related to her background, especially given how some pure-blood wizards viewed Muggle-borns, so she tried not to dwell on it. But she was fortunate to have met people who would support her no matter what, and that gave her confidence in herself and her abilities. Her past was not something to be ashamed of, but a part of her life that had helped shape who she was today.

“Let’s get back to our studies,” Margaret suggested, wanting to change the subject and finally dispel the remnants of awkwardness. “You still have a lot to learn for your essays.”

“Great idea,” Sophie agreed, once again bending over her book.

A few days had passed since that conversation, but Sophie couldn’t shake the moment when Emma hesitated to respond. It left an unpleasant feeling in her heart, and something inside Sophie urged her to figure out what had happened. She felt it was important to understand why Emma had taken so long to support their friend, and whether she really wanted to.

One day, as the three of them sat by the pond, Sophie decided to take advantage of the opportunity when Margaret stepped away, leaving them alone. Emma was lying on a blanket, thoughtfully flipping through the Monster Book of Monsters, when Sophie, gathering her courage, quietly said:

“Emma, can I ask you something? It’s about that conversation in the library about Margaret’s background.”

Emma looked up, her face tensing slightly, but she nodded nonetheless.

“Of course, Sophie. Go ahead.”

Sophie hesitated, searching for the right words.

“You… you hesitated a bit when you found out Margaret is a half-blood. Why did it shake you so much? I understand it was unexpected, but it seemed to me that there was something more. Am I right?”

Emma sighed heavily and set the book aside. She knew this conversation was inevitable, and maybe it really did need to be discussed.

“Yes, you’re right,” she began quietly. “It wasn’t just a surprise. In my family, and in the society I grew up in, we were always taught that half-bloods and especially Muggle-borns were something inferior. Since childhood, I was told that Muggle-borns are almost like Muggles, and Muggles…” She paused, clenching her fists. “Muggles are stupid, disgusting creatures, unworthy of even our attention. All of this was so deeply ingrained in me that I never questioned how unfair it was and just kept carrying on with my parents’ teachings.”

Sophie listened carefully, not interrupting, but a sense of bitterness was growing in her heart. She knew prejudice was a part of the magical world, but hearing it from a close friend was painful.

Emma continued, her voice trembling slightly:

“When I found out Margaret was a half-blood, it was like a slap in the face. I couldn’t understand how someone so close to me could be someone I was taught to hate and despise. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized how absurd it all was. Margaret is one of the smartest, kindest, and most talented people I know. How could I have believed, even for a moment, in the nonsense that was drilled into me from childhood?”

Sophie saw Emma’s eyes fill with tears. She realized that for Emma, this was as difficult a revelation as it had been for Margaret.

“You know,” Emma said, swallowing her tears, “this friendship with Margaret really opened my eyes to the fact that the prejudices of my elders are just lies meant to divide us. But I’m so ashamed that I could even doubt Margaret in that moment, doubt us and our friendship… I’m ashamed to admit it now.”

Sophie gently placed her hand over Emma’s, her voice full of compassion and understanding:

“Emma, I know how hard it is to overcome what’s been instilled in you since childhood. But what’s important is that you were able to recognize it and change your attitude. We all grow and learn. Now you understand that Margaret is no less than us, despite her background. That’s what true friendship is—seeing a person for who they really are, not through the lens of someone else’s prejudices.”

Emma gratefully squeezed Sophie’s hand, feeling the tension slowly dissipate.

“Thank you, Sophie. I promise I’ll fight these prejudices within myself—I truly value our friendship.”

“We all do,” Sophie said softly, smiling. “Let’s just keep supporting each other and not let these prejudices drive us apart. We’re stronger together.”

Emma nodded, feeling her heart fill with warmth and confidence. They fell silent, but the silence held no tension—only the sense that they had grown even closer.

At that moment, they had no idea that their candid conversations had sparked a new wave of trouble. The Slytherins, raised in families where only pure-bloods were valued, had found in Margaret a new target for their bullying. These students, brought up to believe that only pure-blood wizards were worthy of studying magic, saw Margaret as just another confirmation of their biased views.

“Guys, you won’t believe what I just found out,” one of them said to his group of friends, his voice hushed as if he couldn’t contain his excitement. “The Gryffindor know-it-all who’s in my History of Magic class is a half-blood.”

“Well, now that’s interesting,” sneered a tall Slytherin whom the others considered their leader, his eyes lighting up with a dangerous gleam and his lips curling into a malicious smile. “Looks like we’ve got a new target. Let’s give her a warm welcome.”

The others murmured in approval, already anticipating the trouble they would cause. Plans were already forming in their minds—from simple nasty pranks to more serious mischief. They felt that by punishing people like Margaret, they were restoring justice and defending the honor and traditions of their house.

“Just remember, everything needs to look like it’s her own fault,” the leader added, his voice low and venomous in every word.

Meanwhile, Margaret remained unaware, continuing with her usual activities.

I hope I'm not being rude but how did you have the time to do everything on your bio when you're only 24? Can you share how you learnt a lot of languages?

It's fine. Believe it or not, people ask me that A LOT.

I'm born in Myanmar and only spoke Burmese until I was 10 and my mom decided her children should be able to speak English. She sent me and my sibling to an English Summer School and then started speaking English at home. I've been bilingual since then. Burmese people are very good at English (read: we were colonized by the British) I started learning Chinese at age 12, I think. Then at age 14 and 15, while writing novels and fanfictions, I taught myself how to read hanguel (korean script) and hiragana/katakana (japanese script) then started studying formally after graduating highschool.

In Myanmar, until a few years ago, high school students used to graduate at age 16 and go to the university. So when I graduated high school, I went the distance education route in University and became a freelance translator and interpreter. I also did some transcribing and content writing. Then I went to Korea and studied in a language program. I came back after nine months and at age 19 I just started taking things seriously and self studied everything to pass all the language certification exams.

In 2021, because of the military coup, I dropped out of high school, realized my freelance translator job is not really going well due to the dictatorship, so I started to branch out. Now I read tarot and interpret astrological birth charts, teach classes and tutor people, sell books and ebooks. That's just how freelancing is. I think.

Anyways, all these things seem a lot until you realize I just spent a decade of my life just doing things I want. A lot of people tried discouraging me of course They're always like "choose a language!" "choose a path!" but I just don't like to listen to people. Hopefully, a few more decades and I might become a jack of all trades. And learn a few more languages. And read a few more books. And get into a few more hobbies. Yeah.

« Karma scheming »: love the idea that these two finding each other and learning to equilibrate their powers would be karma finally rewarding their patience towards the hardships, their efforts in the war, their determination to stay positive.

« Tarot reading, type of it-girl »: don’t ask why, but I feel like Marella would do tarot reading. She started not really believing it, but now she kinda does, it’s half for fun, half serious. And anyway, doing it would relieve stress. Also. Yes. She’s an it-girl and iconic. That’s how the arts are.

« Feminine gaze, evergreen lace, her heels cut through pavement like it's papier-mâché »: that’s about Marella’s confidence and stamina everywhere. Also, she knows how to style herself (the ✨braids✨), and how to dress up everyday, but she doesn’t do it for the boys, rather to make the girls admirative, maybe a bit jealous. (Me, having a crush on Marella? Maybe)

« She takes a seat next to me, guess my grades are history »: that’s about the lessons. About how learning together can in the same time make each other progress so much for the Ability and distract from anything else. So the historic grades would have a double-meaning, at the same time low cause distracted by the crush, and very high for the Ability-class, cause equilibrium.

« Studying the way she signs, her name in calligraphy »: Linh’s the type of girl who would notice and study every. single. detail. about her crush. And Marella may starts as a cliche « not like the other girls », she’s very attentive and the calligraphy for writing and signing, is like the tarot earlier. It helps relax when things get complex at home.

« Perfume smells like apple spice, bergamot, jealousy »: well. Know I’ll be unable to look at a Marella art without smelling the apple spice and bergamot. Apart from that, the girl wears natural fruit perfume, if she has one. She doesn’t like complicated scents, that’d be overstimulating. And jealousy cause watch her knowing all the gossip. Watch her blend in. Watch her queening. She canonically knows gossip, the rest comes with it.

« Hate, the boys she dates, make my stomach ache »: * look at lava cake * yup. Linh would get jealous. And take extremely long to sort out which she loves. And then absolutely hate him. I’m not sure of the canon interactions with Fitz, but I’m not sure she likes him.

« She's a force of nature no one can tame »: here’s for the fact that Marella doesn’t have that many real friends. And for her fire.

« Shake the magic eight, I’m not afraid »: that’s for the moment when Linh will finally gather the courage to tell her. That moment she will put all her energy on one shot, and she will convince herself nothing can go wrong. Cause she is the type to freak out all the process and once she decides, she just goes « ok. Let’s go. » (that’s how I perceive Linh at least)

« of a force of nature, her dangerous ways, I’d fall into her embrace »: one, Linh knows that fire can be dangerous but she puts the out-of-control out with her water. Second, I perceive Linh as the type to hug tightly. Like really tightly, and without hesitation.

« She say “Girl’s night at mine, come around nine I can steal us bottles of the fanciest wines” ». There are multiple things here. I don’t really picture Marella hosting sleepovers cause Caprise. But the second she has her own house, she’d do it, now that she actually has friends. For the wine part: maybe Durand threw it all after the accident, but Caprise’s fall is attributed to Fizzleberry Wine, so, Marella could technically have access to some. And anyway, she has her flavored air, which she sips 24/7, and that kinda looks like a sort of party drink.

« Siren eyes, tempting mine »: love the idea of Marella having the siren eyes, cause sirens are associated with the sea, so to Linh. Also, if there’s one suggestive look, Linh can not hold herself. After the confession, rather.

« Hands in the backseat, my fogged-up jeep, past curfew, sneakin’ out to »: that’s very much Linh. Guys. She’s adorable and sweet, and rather gentle. But she’s rebellious too. And if ever Marella send a message at 3AM, Linh’s going to be at Fluttermont in the minute. Thanks light-leaping. That would worry absolutely everyone she lives with (considering she doesn’t live with her parents but with Tiergan). But she’d do it.

« Leave my fear at home, cause every bone in my body hopes that you want me »: pretty self-explanatory. But yeah. I feel like Linh can « turn off » the fear and stress of a crush, of not knowing, and just let hope in her heart.

« It’s not in my nature to walk away ». It is not. Linh has been forced to move away, to walk away. And now that she is back in the Lost Cities, she knows what she wants, and she won’t renounce unless she absolutely has to. Valid for everything. Crush, grades, friends, missions. Everything.

« I can replace the boys she dates »: that’s insomnia middle of the night reflection on the crush from Linh. Before the confession of course. I perfectly picture our Hydrokinesist laying in bed, staring at the ceiling, doing scenarios, imagining how she could make Marella fall for her.

« Swear I’m not afraid, of a force of nature »: Linh used to be afraid of anything of strength, mainly of her own ability. That’s what triggered Tam’s protectiveness. But now… She isn’t afraid anymore. She became curious, now that she has security.

« “Hey, I’ve toyed with faith” »: sorry, this is such a Marella’s sentence. Cause she always does that. Coming where interesting things happen. Sharing rumors and gossip. Asking for her Ability to be unlocked.

« “I’ve strung up hearts” ». Isn’t that canon? That Marella is in the « breaking hearts on a regular basis » club? Iirc, she said at one point she rejected a few boys before…

« Cut loose the stars, so you’ll believe »: that’s the « Rewrite the stars » vibe. They have it as a lesbian couple. In the Lost Cities. Where there’s the matchmaking system. Which is thought, at least partially, to give birth more powerful elves. So gay couples? Yeah I feel like that’s bad match guaranteed. And that’s Marella re-assuring Linh, after confession, and Linh is worried, but Firegirl tells her that’ll be ok, she can believe.

The Hierophant — Who is a fellow game designer you’ve learned a lot from? OR What is a piece of popular wisdom about games you think is nonsense?

theres an old story that im not sure where it comes from that goes. there was a pottery class and the teacher split his class in two. one half of the students had to make the most perfect and beautiful piece of pottery they could by the end of the semester. the other half of the students had to make a piece of pottery every day, but none of them had to be any good. and by the end of the semester the students who made one piece of pottery every day actually had far more impressive pottery than the half that was just trying to make one good thing. i have very much taken that to heart in all the work that i do. i believe in the power of creating as much as possible, doing things badly, doing stuff thats experimental, throwing spaghetti at the wall, and you will learn far more than if you focus on making a few good creations. for this reason i am studying @sprintingowl's games under a microscope (somewhat literally - i actually do use two of them in my class. we analyze what little the flames leave us and play graves for funerals)

The Sun — Talk about a game you’ve made that you’re proud of.

its not a game thats gotten a lot of attention compared to some of my others, but i actually really love familiar field trip. its more of a cohesive, fully fleshed out game than some of my other ones, and one of the only truly multiplayer games that ive made. i made it for my best friend and we played for their birthday and it was actually a ton of fun. its not a serious game and not very roleplay heavy, but we laughed the whole time and i really thought it worked :o)
