just wanted to say I have started the third part of my TSL fic "all I wanted was bread"! I dunno if more than a few people were on edge waiting for it, But i do apologize for dipping on it(life got crazy). I will be attempting to get it out before this up coming monday, but it depends on how busy thursday and friday will be for me. but I pray giving myself a deadline will make my stupid brain actually do it.
on a side note: do you guys want to know what inspired this fleshed out AU? this song
and yes I'm serious.
like 100% serious. everything I ever imagined happening in my AU came from me listening to a shitpost song on tiktok about bread and imagining it all happening. (also yes ofc the title is also based on the song) ((SONG CRED TO ANYA NAMI ON TIKTOK!!!!)
and funfacts about the Og story: originally Mc was going to have a habit of stealing bread for their brothers. simeon was aware and disapproved but knew he couldn't do much apart from telling luke that it wasn't stolen, but I felt that it would be a lot better if it was a thing Mc did out of desperation and hunger. which is why they get caught, they aren't used to stealing. and before that when Mc was still a thief at heart, Simeon originally never got the job at the castle, and Mc never got cauht. HOWEVER, they still fed the crows, in my beta version mammon was going to jasmine from alladin shit and dress up as a peasant to go out without people noticing him. mc finds him in their garden talking with the crows in the middle of the night, they assume he may be crazy and invites him inside because its cold, they slowly fall inlove after a few months then BOOM its revealed who he is in a brutal turn of events when Mc goes on trial!!! Luke was also originally going to be sick, which would be Mc's main reason to steal food, so then he could eat and live longer. but all that hurt my soul and I am a big fat baby. typically I LOVE LOVE LOOVEEE angst... when they're my own characters that is. but I love the boys to much:(

Monsters - Obey Me TSL
[✧] ー I'm obsessed. That's it.
[✧] ー Each kingdom in the TSL series has their own eerie monsters and urban legends. At least to me. Part 1 of my TSL rants <3 all of them will come with the tag #♡ ┊ tsl rants by pk.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lord of Corruption:
♡ ┊ The Lord of Corruption might have tamed the three headed hellhound, Cerberus, with a breath of fire and destructive nature, but the monsters deep in the forests are much like Chernobyl animals and wildlife. Have you seen the two headed sheeps? The animals in Lord of Corruption's territory are horrifying, way bigger, made of shadow. They corrupt every place they set foot upon. Sacrifices are made once a year, young and innocent humans setting foot into the forest and never coming back.
♡ ┊ If anyone deemed Cerberus scary, they had never seen the monsters lurking the forest.
♡ ┊ The forest is completely off limits for everyone but the Lord of Corruption himself, as he is the only one able to handle the demons. It seems like the hostile monsters had been sealed away by a protection spell from The Lord of Corruption himself. There are rumors that the Lord of Corruption feeds on the magic of these beasts, empowering himself more and more.
Lord of Fools:
♡ ┊ I like to believe that the Lord of Fool's territory has multiple gold and diamond mines. Even magical rocks, and another headcanon of mine is that his empire is much like ancient egyptian empires, with gold south asian castles and deserts.
♡ ┊ Monsters lurk underground. Earthquake? Oh no, it was probably one of the monsters. Some miners lost their lives as the mine collapsed? The mines didn't collapse, monsters took it down.
♡ ┊ Huge, humanoid spiders and scorpions roam the deserts and unknown, ten legged monsters peer at miners in silence when they venture far too deep. These beasts aren't as hostile as the ones in Lord of Corruption's empire, but they can get very mad if someone steps foot into their houses. It's very hard for the people to see what exactly outlines them, but Lord of Fools has the power to detect those. There is always a certain aura surrounding certain golds, and as much as he hates to let go of some, he prefers not to anger the beasts.
Lord of Shadow:
♡ ┊ Lord of Shadow tamed Lotan, but there are still beasts lurking deep underneath his empire, which is pretty much like Venezia, a town on top of water. There are two days in one year that the people bring sacrifices from different empires and drown them for the monsters.
♡ ┊ As an empire which is used to war and training for it, Lord of Shadows has everything needed to defend the empire from these monsters lurking within.
♡ ┊ Of course, Henry is a great help too, with the ability to surf underwater and shapeshift (another hc of mine). Lotan always accompanies Henry to make sure he's safe while he patreons. Henry trains many guards to patreon under the water and make sure none of the beasts venture too close to the empire, or the surface.
Lord of Masks:
♡ ┊ Finding something suitable for him was hard. But here me out we all remember Hide Behind from Gravity Falls, right? Or at least, Slenderman. So imagine this, creatures as tall as Slenderman, even taller, with no face or form but only a humanoid shape and made of a black void. They can take the form of anyone they meet, mimic them, and observe them enough to take over the victim's life.
♡ ┊ These creatures want to experience the life of humans and demons, so they observe, from the shadows, deep in the night and bit by bit take your life, your personality, and your loved ones.
♡ ┊ The Mimics, as I call them, are hard to detect. Specially since the victims can never be found again, as if The Mimics absorb them. But they have one weakness. They can never take off the masks every citizen and the Lord wears. So every month, at unpredictable days, everyone living in the kingdom attends a ceremony to take off their masks and close their eyes, with only Satan looking at everyone. The Mimics are never found after then, until the next ceremony.
Lord of Lechery:
♡ ┊ The most part of lord of Lechery's fashion comes from the feathers the sirens shed. Note that by Siren, I mean the Greek version, the birds with human head. The thing is, however, that these sirens are way bigger than the Greek ones and way wilder, with an even shorter temper. They're not as hostile as the other monsters in other empires, but they get offended way too quickly
♡ ┊ They also have a thing for stealing jewelry and pieces of clothing from noblemen and women. Their weakness is mirrors, as these huge Sirens live in constant denial of their appearance and believe themselves to be the most beautiful beings to ever exist.
♡ ┊ These creatures seem to have a liking to the Lord himself, and never steal anything from him. They also find him superior and do listen to him. But who knows? Maye the Lord is using a little it of charming spells too.
Lord of Flies and Lord of Emptiness:
♡ ┊ The lord of Emptiness' grief has casted everlasting shadows that move through the empire. Legends say that if Lord of Flies was not here, the whole empire would be swallowed by these shadows. It is clear to every demon to never step foot into the shadows, as they will fall into a long lasting sleep, never waking up. There is a temple for those who have fell in the trap of these shadows, and the people tending to the temple say that the corpses are stuck in an ever lasting nightmare, being eaten from the inside out by ther own organs.
♡ ┊ One day every year, shadows take over the empire. The people living there must lock themselves inside at all costs, and protect themselves with charms of light. And whatever they do, they must not let the lights go out until the shadows are gone, no matter what. The duration is not completely set, sometimes it's 2 or 3 hours, and some may last days and weeks. So everyone living in the kingdom has piles and piles of food, canned in magical devices to use.
♡ ┊ Still, the shadows are always tempting and full of temptation. One must not even look outside their window, for they might fall for the shadows' tricks.

Hello! We all know (or hopefully perceive the idea) that Satan would be a sweet romantic at heart! So imagine Satan x MC in an arranged marriage in TSL AU! For eg: everything was going well, they’re slowly falling for each other but MC has to keep secrets that hurts Satan! So MC tries gaining his trust by being honest, while Satan falls for MC again, as much as he denies it!
Of course, feel free to discard the idea, no pressure :)
Just A Small, Little Lie (TSL Arranged Marriage! AU)
(first request! i won't lie, i'm relatively new to the fandom and couldn't find any specifics for the tsl!au other than mc being henry and the demon brothers being the seven lords. but! i hope this suffices! all the tsl writings out there seem to have a more darker, sombre tone, too - so i hope that comes across :D but thank you so much, anon, for being my first requester! i hope its decently alright ahaha)
(Full fic under the cut! And feel free to plop ideas in the idea box :D)
Synopsis:
(Takes place in the TSL! AU - reader is Henry).
You used to be a knight serving the Seven Lords, popular amongst all in the realm. Then one day, without warning, the Lord of Corruption orders you to marry the Lord of Masks; of whom you had the closest relationship with out of all his brothers. However, the feelings for him that had once been growing in your heart turn sour as you're required to give up your knighthood, your life and your freedom for this arranged marriage.
Your husband gradually drops his mask, as he falls deeper in love with you.
And you gradually put up your mask, as you fall further out of love with him.
_
You don’t tell your husband that your fingers hurt, as you wind the stems of green willow between them into something that maybe, possibly resembles a flower chain. Fake green willow; because nothing survives here except him, you and the cats he allows to come and go from the castle. Fake green willow; with plastic that splits into sharp prongs that dig into your flesh when you bend it. Your husband’s flower chain is made with real green willow that has long since withered away; but today, for whatever reason he keeps behind the mask he wears, he’s decided to bring the flowers back to life by winding them into a chain. And, for whatever reason, he’s demanded you do the same.
Your flower chain looks horrible. His chain looks perfect. Like your perfect husband, with his perfect kingdom, and your perfect marriage.
The perfect, perfect marriage you never even asked for.
You don’t tell your husband much of anything, nowadays. You remember your days as Henry, the brave knight, who fights against evil and protects the seven, wise sages of the realm. You used to talk with the Lord of Masks before heading off on excursions, during breaks in military council meetings, over private, celebratory dinners… Anytime you could, you’d seek him out. You remember shifting in your seat the first time you had invited him to dinner, avoiding his gaze bashfully as you both had placed your hands on the table, fingers inching ever closer to touch. You remember he had taken your hand in his, lifting it to his lips. You even remember the exact knuckle where his soft, gentle lips had kissed. Such a romantic night; where you were free to speak and laugh and smile as you pleased. Free to possibly even fall in love with him.
… Free. You were free, until the Lord of Corruption had suddenly forced you over to the Lord of Masks as a prize. He had stripped you of your title as a knight, had forbid you from entering any other kingdom, and presented you to his brother with a shackle on your ring finger and a matching mask to wear.
So now, you do what you do best as a knight and steel yourself, putting up your guard. Everything you want to think, say or do… you keep secret.
_
The Lord of Masks doesn’t realise your fingers hurt, as you wind the stems of green willow between them into something that maybe, possibly resembles a flower chain. Fake green willow; because nothing survives here and he wanted you to have only the prettiest things which come close to matching your beauty. Fake green willow; which pales in comparison to the adorable expression on the face of his dear, beloved Henry, your tongue poking out of the corner of your mouth in concentration. He, himself, doesn’t really know why he’s decided to come to your room in the middle of the night to make flower chains, but he tells himself it’s to keep his spouse entertained. Nothing more than his usual behaviour and cunning. To keep up the façade of an upstanding, untouchable member of society.
He marries Henry and keeps them happy.
He shares in Henry’s immense popularity and gets the knight’s military prowess at his disposal.
Such a good deal for Henry, the Lord of Masks thinks… ignoring the unfamiliar, warm heat spreading over his flushed cheeks when you hold out your finished flower necklace out to him.
A good deal for Henry - no, not himself - indeed.
He tells you too much, these days. He remembers talking to you: Henry, the knight - not Henry, his spouse. Faking his smile in the breaks between council meeting and pretending to care before you headed off on military excursions.
But then you had invited him to dinner for the first time after a victory. Then, he had seen expressions he had never seen you show anyone. Not even his brothers. The Henry that wasn't just the tool he could use to conquer territory; nor the Henry he could use to gain status. This Henry smiled at him. Stuttered and faltered and even blushed when he kissed their hand - like the princesses in the fairytales he pretended he didn't love to read, or the fairies illustrated in the bedtime stories he read as a child. Someone enchanting, perfect and loving in a world where's he's only known masks.
So he does what he does best and dons his own mask. Through his various connections in high society, he had covertly pulled the strings and had the marriage arranged himself; masquerading it as his idiot older brother's idea. It’s on-brand; a marriage proposal masked as pure business, so he never has to face what he really feels. But he can pretend. Pretend he was brave enough to get down on one knee, ring in hand. Pretend that his story was exactly like that of the heroes of his favourite tales.
Pretend it wasn't the prince, instead, who was hopelessly, foolishly, in love with his loyal knight.
_
The Lord of Masks smiles. If one looks closely, past the haze of the lamplight, they might be able to notice that the smile reaches his eyes. He takes the necklace made by his spouse and barely squeezes it over his head and around his neck. Green willow-shaped plastic digs into his skin.
You try to smile, too. You look at him and try to remember the man who had lovingly pressed a kiss to your hand on that night, small specks of emotion spilling out from under his carefully-crafted guise. You keep his true image in your eyes - that of your rage-filled captor - a secret. It’s the only way for you to keep up your own act… and maybe stop yourself from breaking the heart of the gentleman you once held feelings for. If he was even still there at all.
“I love you.” The Lord of Masks says, forgetting how tight the flower chain had felt around his neck only seconds ago. His mask slightly falls forward, loosely, as he leans his head against yours and gently nuzzles you - like a cat would. He even rubs his nose against yours, basking in your scent. Internally, he curses himself. His body is betraying him.
“I… I love you, too.” You say, the band of your own mask chafing painfully into the back of your neck. You're unable to move when your husband shows his affection and you ready yourself to play it off as nerves. But something in your heart - as you look at him and see the man who had leaned forward to kiss your hand - falters. Were you still holding out hope, even now? Internally, you curse yourself. You need to learn to be better at acting.
The two of you stay there a while: the Kingdom of Masks' happy, perfect couple. Your foreheads touch, your fingers intertwine and, yet, your hearts are far, far apart. Into the darkness, the two of you continue to utter that sentence:
"I love you."
It's a whole-hearted truth after a lifetime of hiding, for one...
… And one of many, many small, little lies, for the other.
(hello, anon, i hope you enjoyed this! i went kinda tragic love story route; with hopeless romantic satan and a trapped mc, though i'd like to think mc is still holding out hope that the man they fell in love with is still there. if you wanted something a little happier though, anon, please let me know and i'll write a sequel, this premise is one i really enjoyed!)

“Frankly. This is no good. Individually, you're all very talented. However, your lines are wooden, your singing is off-tune, and your dances are a disaster… I would consider this an acceptable level… if it were a kindergarten production.”

✨A thought about the TSL musical✨
So, Simeon directs The Tale of the Seven Lords: The Musical in the Pop Quiz "Henry and the Seven Lords", right?
I was cleaning while listening to music and was struck by a vision. A vision, I tell you! Listen. Henry and the Lord of Shadow dueting this:
youtube
We don't know much about the plot of the series, but it is mentioned in the trivia competition against Leviathan that the Lord of Masks does something to the Lord of Shadow in the upcoming release. This surprises Leviathan as he predicted that the two lords were going to make up.
SO PICTURE THIS:
The Lord of Masks has launched a surprise attack on the Lord of Shadow, Henry arriving too late to assist their friend. They reach the land surrounding the third lord's castle to find it ravaged. Blood-soaked earth pools beneath dying soldiers as medics tend to those who still cling to life. In the middle of it all is the Lord of Shadow, paralyzed with shock and grief. Upon seeing Henry, he lifts his head and lets out a mournful, "Remember me."
He is angry. He is spiteful. When he needed Henry most, they weren't there. Henry had promised to stand by him, and yet, they were nowhere to be found when he needed them most. He gestures to the ruin around him, challenging Henry to explain their absence.
Henry tries to interject, tries to apologize. The Lord of Shadow realizes then that Henry would never betray him. He launches into the chorus, pleading with Henry to stand with him and find a way to rebuild.
The song builds with the third lord repeating his need for Henry's aid in the bridge. Then everything goes dark save for a spotlight on Henry as they sing the solo line, "If there's a place that I could be, then I'd be another memory."
Then this is followed by a super intense last chorus where they sing to each other and the wounded soldiers dance dramatically in the background and fill out the ensemble parts. During the outro, Henry would be singing the "Remember me" part as if to switch the roles and insist that the Lord of Shadow should have faith in Henry's character.
It's perfect, okay? MCR is so theatrical. Their songs are meant to be acted out. Like, damn.
Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk. Let me know if you want more TSL musical scenes that come to me like a fever dream.

Do correct me if this could never happen, I have little to no knowledge of TSL, but I came up with an interesting idea.
Lord of Masks isn't trustworthy, if I remember correctly, but what if that's because he doesn't trust anyone else?
What if he wears magical masquerade masks that have different purposes? Masks that can show what someone is think? Masks that can reveal someone's true purpose?

So I've just realized something:
In The Lord's Animals and the Devil's God chooses wolves as his animals.
The Lord God had created all animals, and had chosen out the Wolf to be his dog, but he had forgotten the goat.
We're also told that God can summon the wolves to devour things.
This distressed him, so that in his goodness and mercy he summoned the wolves, who soon tore in pieces the goats that went there.
If we wanna count all of the Grimm's Fairytales in the same universe then that could make God responsible for the wolves in tales like Little Red Cap/Little Red Riding Hood, The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids and The Wolf and the Fox.

Onetime I commented on a video and said that I'd like more gay aspects in omswd confirmed, like Levi definitely having a crush on Henry.
Someone replied and went, "THE FISH!?!?!??"
I still think about it multiple times a day. The guy he named the fish after........
*This is probably not funny to anyone else*

For the seven characters ask: Eanrin and Dame Imraldera (Goldstone Wood); Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli (LotR); Artham (Wingfeather Saga); and The Golux (The 13 Clocks)
You do realize that I want to put about half of these for #7, right? You realize what you have done to me? Ok, let's go —
Go grocery shopping with: Legolas. I have no good explanation; I just feel like it would be fun and possibly amusing.
Have lunch with: Gimli; I am fueling a favorite theory of mine and introducing him to good barbecue.
Have coffee with: Eanrin. I am prying every story I can out of him, and I am also risking my own self-confidence by asking him to look at some of my own writing.
Go thrift shopping with: The Golux, because then something improbable and interesting will happen.
Explore a museum/art gallery/aquarium with: Imraldera. It's something different from her daily routine, but still on-brand for her.
Go the library/bookstore with: Artham; we're having a grand time making fun of the bad books (and bad poetry) and trading recommendations on the good stuff. I am also introducing him to the Tales of Goldstone Wood; I think some of it will resonate. (You'd think I would've said Imraldera, but let's be real; the woman spends ALL her time in the library. Let's let her do something else.)
Have as a plus-one at a wedding: Aragorn. (This came down to Aragorn vs. Eanrin, and in the end, Aragorn won because he can be counted upon to be Chivalrous.)

'Most Hollywood blockbuster films typically have an hour and a half or more runtime. However, some narratives are so complex that they require more time to delve into their deeply layered storylines. In today’s fast-paced world, though, some viewers may find it challenging to dedicate three hours or more to watch a single film, especially if they prefer shorter viewing experiences due to limited free time.
Ultimately, the length of a movie may not matter as long as it remains entertaining and of good quality. While a long runtime might turn some viewers off, others do not mind it, recognizing that it can be necessary for certain epic films like “The Godfather,” “The Lord of the Rings,” and “Ben-Hur.” In these cases, the extended runtime makes us question the plot’s breadth but adds to these cinematic masterpieces’ brilliance.
Cinematic epics such as “Seven Samurai,” “Ben-Hur,” and “Schindler’s List” have all demonstrated that their length is not merely for show. They are magnificent works created by skilled directors and enhanced by exceptional actors and various film components. Their elongated runtimes provide room for profound character development, intricate plotlines, and unparalleled exploration of themes that leave a lasting impact on the hearts and minds of the audience.
Christopher Nolan debuted with a 70-minute independent film, ‘Following’ (1998). But over the years, he has made intense and thrilling blockbusters with longer running times, like Inception (148 minutes), The Dark Knight Rises (165 mins), and Interstellar (169 mins). Now he has hit the 3-hour mark with his latest magnum opus, Oppenheimer. Though it’s a biopic and a historical drama revolving around the famous physicist Robert J. Oppenheimer, Nolan’s magic and astounding performances have brought a sense of urgency and thrill to a conversation-filled article. Films like Oppenheimer, in fact, can stimulate movie lovers’ fascination for such detailed narratives. Hence, we have compiled a list of must-watch and thrilling 3-hour-long movies like Oppenheimer.
1. The Irishman (2019)
“The Irishman” is a compelling blend of crime drama, character study, and historical exploration, brought to life by a talented cast and masterful direction. It’s rich storytelling and complex characters have made it a film that continues to fascinate and captivate audiences worldwide. The Irishman is not just a crime thriller but a character study that allows viewers to explore its main characters’ moral dilemmas and internal struggles.
The film is known for its Epic Length and Narrative, which spans several decades, chronicling the life of Frank Sheeran, a truck driver who becomes involved with the Bufalino crime family. Martin Scorsese’s masterful direction, the outstanding performances of Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci, and the inventive use of music all play a role in creating an immersive and engaging viewing experience. Since Frank’s story is based on the non-fiction book “I Heard You Paint Houses” by Charles Brandt, which claims to be the true story, its extended run-time makes it even more intriguing for viewers who cherish stories that are rooted in real-life events.
2. Seven Samurai (1954)
This Japanese Classic is one of those long movies viewers can see and revisit over and over again without getting tired of its intriguing plotline. With its richly developed characters, alongside the narrative’s emotional depth and stunning action sequences, Seven Samurai is regarded as one of the most influential and celebrated films in cinema history. Directed by Akira Kurosawa and set in 16th-century feudal Japan, the film tells the story of a group of seven ronin (masterless samurai) who are hired by a small farming village to protect them from marauding bandits.
“Seven Samurai” is a great film due to its visionary direction, timeless story, complex characters, and pioneering cinematography. Its enduring legacy continues to inspire and captivate audiences, making it a true classic of the medium. The film’s perfect pacing and expertly choreographed action sequences allow the narrative and characters to be fully explored, creating a powerful and emotionally resonant film.
3. Schindler’s List (1993)
This compelling and critically acclaimed historical drama, directed by Steven Spielberg, tells the story of a German businessman, Oskar Schindler, who embarks on a transformative journey during one of the darkest chapters in human history. Initially portrayed as an opportunist seeking profit, Schindler has a change of heart when he witnesses the atrocities inflicted by the Nazis upon the Jewish population. The film unfolds through a series of powerful and poignant scenes, capturing the Jewish workers’ daily struggles, fears, and acts of heroism under Schindler’s protection.
Understandably, “Schindler’s List” spans over three hours to comprehensively portray its devastating story, intricate character development, and thorough examination of the historical events of the Holocaust. Extended runtime is an advantage for those who appreciate immersive storytelling and thoughtful exploration of history.
4. Magnolia (1999)
“Magnolia” is a remarkable and intricately woven drama celebrated for its ambitious and innovative storytelling, making it a unique and artistically valuable film. Set in the San Fernando Valley, the movie follows the lives of various characters, each grappling with personal demons and challenges. As the narrative unfolds, their individual stories converge and intertwine over the course of a momentous day. This ambitious film’s duration delves deeply into themes of forgiveness, regret, coincidence, and life’s unpredictable nature. The extended runtime provides ample room for a thorough exploration of these themes, enriching the movie with intellectual and emotional depth.
For those who relish immersive storytelling, in-depth character study, and ambitious filmmaking, the longer runtime of “Magnolia” proves to be a significant asset, elevating its impact and resonance.
