#I didn’t end up going to the rave just stayed in with my buddies and had KFC (( Korean fried chicken )) and laughed til we cried so#it was still a wonderful start to the new year 💞🥰💞#but the fwb wanted pics of my potential rave look so I figured eh I brought the stuff anyways#and now I’m imagining locking eyes with a stranger on the warm and writhing dance floor#the beat thumps and shakes and rattles the air in our breath as the spotlights dance in the reflections of our held gaze#he pushes his way through the crowd with a singular stare and a wicked smile on his face#I smile and turn my back on him arching myself so he knows I am giving what he’s looking for#I take careful steps through the revelry toward the edge where the crowd thins out#I prop myself up on an available stool in a lonely corner of the club as he closes the distance between us#“now I wonder why you dragged me all the way here” he utters in a playful growl “trying to get far away from the crowd?”#I smile and I nod. “obviously. can’t really do what I want with you out there”#his eyes perk up and his smile gives away the desire building inside him. “yeah? why don’t you show me then.”#“I thought you’d never ask” I smirk. I truly think that one of the biggest tragedies in BEAST in regards to the Akutagawa siblings is that, at the core of it, Ryuunosuke viewed himself as a beast, and showed his love in a way a beast would, while Gin was the only person who ever saw him as human and judged him accordingly. She did not see a beast acting like a beast, the way everybody else did, she saw a human acting like a beast and it’s part of what drove her away.
The ADA saw their rookie detective at his worst, and watched—and continues to watch—him grow from a beast to a human over time. Consumed by hatred and only knowing how to be cruel, and slowly learning how to become human.
Gin saw her brother at his best—the best he could be in their situation—and then watched him grow from a boy to a beast within moments. The scraps of humanity that he had, all disappearing into rage so primal it no longer made him seem human.
#I was unhappy when Gin called her brother a monster in that scene after all his efforts to find her again#because I was treating her like Canon! Gin and not by the different experiences they’ve lived#i always thought that saying that to him was cruel when she’s known him since they were in the slums#but the thing is. He did act like a monster. by human standards he was a monster to others#he mutilated and butchered people even as a child. even if it was done out of love#he had no regards to holding back his brutality and maimed people. even if we understand its cause of how he grew up#he slaughtered countless of mafiosos—perhaps even subordinates under Gin. people who were simply there at the wrong place at the wrong time#I think the dislike of BEAST Gin has greatly to do about perspective#she is not like Dazai or the reader who knows the circumstances or his mind#she is not like the ADA who saw Akutagawa at his worst#and lastly she is not like Atsushi who can understand her brother like he’s her other half. he’s not#akutagawa is effectively a stranger she used to know. someone she is familiar with and has tender feelings for#but not someone that she /knows/. he is not someone that she /understands/.#bungou stray dogs#bsd#bsd akutagawa#ryuunosuke akutagawa#akutagawa ryunosuke#bsd gin#akutagawa gin#gin akutagawa#bungo stray dogs beast#beast#beast akutagawa#beast gin#bsd beast

Older christianity. I mean the anti government, anti military, community based christianity. The one that cared the most about peace, equality, mercy, kindness, and radical love. The one with shared property. The one that didn't conform to society but instead existed mostly outside of it. The one where noone considered one sin worse than another because in the end, we are all sinners trying our best to be better.

We don't envision season 5 right when we talk because what is that actually gonna be like? This isn't a romcom. Mike finds out about the painting but Will is like throwing up blood and slugs in the corner.
edit: to clarify I wasn't saying "no time for romance" I was saying "it's horror show with raises stakes and angst. Mike will have to figure out how to bring up this truth bomb he discovered when more important things are clearly going on and there aren't the most conversational opportunities". Okay challenge mode. You are a therapist and Eridan Ampora from Homestuck has just walked right out of his intro page into your office. How do you fix him?
put him and karkat in a room with a pile of stuff and tell them they can't leave until they've jumped into it and talked about their feelings
#realtalk therapy doesnt work unless the person getting the therapy puts in the effort to make it work#eridan starts the comic in complete and utter denial that he's in need of help#so there's really nothing i nor any stranger could do about that#HOWEVER he does talk to karkat often about his feelings (and vice versa) and#the reason they didnt hang out during the game seems to be#1) they were on separate teams and didnt realize the teams were the same team until later on#2) by then it was too late and eridan had aggro'd all his angels#3) gamzee was deliberately keeping eridan away from karkat and vice versa (likely bc gamzee had a palecrush on kk)#4) karkat was too busy falling victim to his own insecurities abt being a leader to pay attention to his actual friendships#4a) eg. it shouldve been the time player doing the frog hunt with kanaya & not the blood player#like im not saying moirallegiance with karkat would have fixed all of eridans problems but i am saying#what eridan really needed was a friend who took his problems seriously and could see past his bullshitting#and karkat already WAS that friend - they just never hung out#so by the time the meteor rolls around eridan has spent WEEKS feeling abandoned anxious and alone on his death planet#and karkat has gotten used to not thinking about eridan too much#so karkat - who is basically eridans only actual friend at that point - isnt able to get through to him & eridan snaps#like the thing about sburb/homestuck is that it really stresses the importance of friendship and working together#letting each other help with each others' problems#thats why the smallest viable game is still two people by necessity#so when we see things like gamzee snapping or eridan snapping or vriska snapping#as much as these are the 'fault' of the person snapping they also need to be viewed as comprehensive team failures#the people who should have spent the game together didnt and the people who shouldnt have spent the game together did#vriska was allowed to bully tf outta tavros and nobody intervened#eridan was left all alone and nobody tried to help him#and everybody was mean to gamzee and nobody tried to connect with him#and you know whose job it is to make sure the right people are hanging out together? the blood player#and unfortunately our blood player was so insecure that he was doing jobs that werent his to do#im not saying pale erikar would fix homestuck but i am saying pale erikar is a symptom of things being fixed in homestuck

When the interviewer asked when we should expect s5 to be coming out, that’s when Shawn mentioned that a little bit of an answer to that might be out there soon.
He actually mentions that this answer could be out by the time the video for this interview comes out, and since this interview was filmed mid-May and it’s now mid-June, I’m assuming we could be getting something soon or within the next couple months, potentially about a release date aka possibly a small teaser with 2025 stamped at the end…

Part of my experience with abuse is hoping I get a kid like me so I can know how easy it can be to love them, how easy it is to not treat them how I was treated, and breaking that cycle. It was only hard for them to love me as a child because they didn't love me in the first place. They wished for me to know the hate they had, and I refuse to carry their water for them like that. It was never hard to love me.

I've said something like this before, but what the fuck happened to this site?
Why do some people act like you jimmied the lock open on their personal fucking diary and wrote a book report about it if you have any comments on their post, like they didn't intentionally post on a website that specifically allows people to do that.
You post some shit on your blog and then people repost it to their blogs with their thoughts. They can do that because it's on their blog now that they've reposted it. And you are allowed to have you own opinions on their own blog! That's how this works! That's how it was intended to work!
First it was declared "annoying" to make direct responses to posts, so we all started cowering in the tags to be able to say anything even though the OP (and now, everyone) can see the tags just as easily as anything else...so it's still cringe to put things in the tags!
"I see other users are mentioning their own thoughts and experiences in the tags! Well, I didn't ask!" Like their post is their personal fiefdom or something and how dare peasants talk out of turn. If you wanted that experience turn off notifications, or tag things don't rb, or make a private post, or post on a different platform that allows you to turn off comments, or like don't post at all. These are all options that are available to you at any time!
Do you know how many ways there are to express your thoughts and feelings exclusively to people you know and like? A lot. Why don't these people go there instead of posting to tumblr.com?

...and people still find the gall to say that the same exact thing happening with Mike the very next season doesn't mean anything.
Like?! You already learned and had confirmed that the little looks and glances mean a ton...because they were what were used to tell the story of Will's feelings. That is literally confirmed. Will has canonical romantic feelings for Mike Wheeler.
And yet. Mike. Giving the exact same looks Will did for two entire seasons...somehow means something different for him?
