If you've seen my art for lmk you know I like to doodle over my pictures of the eclipse and yesterday I got to be in the totality area so I got some really good pictures! So obviously I had to do a quick doodle of Danny's glowy eyes

I was in the path of totality for the solar eclipse and it was very... ominous. Naturally I felt inspired to draw these two also enjoying the eclipse.

Sigma … Moira… 💭
like, as a ship? They are personally not my favorite, but i've seen cute fanart here and there. I also don't mind when people interpret my art of them together as ship art, I think it's sweet even if that wasn't my intention.

Where I am, I didn't get to see a total solar eclipse, but I did see a partial one, and I took a bunch of photos. Felt like sharing the best of what I managed to get, so ye
I got these pictures by putting a pair of eclipse viewing glasses over my phone camera
Under the cut will be pictures of what it looked like without the special glasses. Yes, my eyeballs hurt a little, but I'm fine :P

I just know Jack would be staring directly at the solar eclipse just to spite Piggy. Piggy would be throwing those safety glasses at everyone. Simon would be helping the littluns keep their glasses on :)

Sometimes life makes zero sense and is dreary and grey and scary, but then I realize... it's also beautiful. Breathtakingly so. And God, we're so lucky to have it.
Think about it-- if gravity were even 0.1% stronger, the entire universe would be crushed together like an aluminum soda can... and if it were 0.1% weaker, it'd be blown apart. The conditions for us to even exist as single-cellular organisms, much less ever hyperintelligent bipedal mammals, are so astronomically improbable that it's the reason why there's so much doubt about extraterrestrial life. You look at any other planet and you realize why there's so much skepticism about UFOs, because what creature could live there? Some planets rain diamonds! Wood is a rarer resource than goddamn diamond!
And get this: The sun is 400 times bigger than the moon, but also 400 times farther away from Earth. Not only would Earth be destroyed if it even moved a foot forward or back, but the sun and moon are positioned perfectly for solar eclipses.
Not a single other planet gets that privilege.
Aren't we so lucky for the cosmos themselves to get together and create such a beautiful spectacle for us as a solar eclipse? Aren't we so lucky to be alive? To exist? To get the chance to suffer and to prosper and to be bored and to experience joy and pain and grief and love? To realize almost nothing makes sense, except for the moon and sun in the sky, and the fact that we so undoubtedly exist? Against all odds?
