Thinking about DP x DC Jason Todd being a revenant again. Here's my scenario. Jason gets called that by some ghost. He's like "what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He's heard the term before but he doesn't know any actual lore. He googles it. He scrolls past the Leonardo DiCaprio bear movie. He opens the wiki. Sees the words "animated corpse" and gets a chill diwn his spine. He starts reading the first section.

He closes Wikipedia.

That night he has a nightmare that his family buried him, again, this time with precautions. He wakes up in his own grave, full of stones, too heavy to move, to scream.

Finally watching Smile 2, I'm a little over halfway through and I'm not sure that I'm liking it quite as much as the first one. It's very good still! Very freaky, I love the cinematography and the elevated levels of mind-fuckery. But I feel like the first one had a much tighter grasp on the mental illness angle, in regards to the symbolism.

Ways to Kill the Smile Entity

Kind of wondered that once a person is fully possessed by the Smile Entity, why not then shoot them before they could commit suicide and continue the curse? As we know, it spreads its curse by forcing the host to kill themselves in front of a witness, but what if you take out the host since, there is really nothing left of the original person. The only downside I can think of is someone witnessing the murder might get traumatized enough for the entity to latch itself onto them.

Maybe let the ritual play out, but the twist is the witness is blind. With no one else in the proximity of the event, the entity would have no means of jumping to another host and perishes.

I do think Morris was real, but obviously him contacting Skye via a text message was the entity playing a trick on her, but I think the weakness presented by "Morris" is legitimate because, if the majority of the film was actually a hallucination controlled by the entity, who else would know about the Smile Entity's weakness than the entity itself? So, do the procedure that was alluded to in Smile 2.

Maybe won't work, but why not if the person just looked away from the suicide? The movies don't say whether the demon can supernaturally influence someone into looking wasn't mentioned at least to my knowledge.

Lock the victim of the smile curse in an isolated prison far from human civilization and let it starve to death.
