tbth i think my favourite part of smile 2 is how utterly fucking sad joel looked in the opening. i mean kyle gallner's performance was definitely part of it like he's a legit fantastic actor but a good chunk was just how fucking crestfallen this lad was. you don't even need context for the first film. like. look at him.

hello smile 2 tumblr fandom . do U guys have any headcanons about the movie/its characters? pls share them with me i wanna know what U guys are coming up with :3 !!!!!! i’ll start!!!!!

- skye’s full name is shaya riley-banjaree . yes banjaree like mo banjaree from lemonade mouth!!!

- speaking of mo banjaree from lemonade mouth, i headcanon that mo is actually skye’s half sister :3 (same dad, different moms)

- i headcanon skye as a gender nonconforming lesbian who uses she/he pronouns but prefers she/her

- skye sometimes binds her chest (unsafely) using multiple sports bras layered atop one another. the severity of her dysphoria varies from day to day

- also, skye’s around 26 in my head

- skye’s love language is physical touch by a landslide. she’s kinda bad with words and tends to trip herself up.

- skye knits. she mostly does it when she’s stressed and trying really hard to cope. she never meant to get so into it but she realised that it really relaxed her.

- gemma time!!! since gemma didn’t have a full name in the movie i headcanon that it’s gemma lannister . i might give her a middle name at some point if i feel like it :P

- gemma’s a femme lesbian and lowkey kind of a misandrist. also she uses she/her :P

- gemma’s only a month older than skye but she never lets skye forget it.

- gemma is a nepo baby . her family is super well off and she certainly enjoys it but she doesn’t flaunt it.

- she’s pursuing theater/filmmaking, mostly writing scripts. she also likes to write music.

- she plays guitar! mostly electric. she had lessons when she was little.

- skye and gemma write music together frequently :3 they’re each other’s muse.

- during the events of the freezer scene, morris successfully helped skye get rid of the curse . however…it left skye unconscious for around a week and a half. gemma visited skye in the hospital every single day.

- after the events of the freezer, skye keeps in touch with morris. they’re close friends.

- when they were younger, skye got herself and gemma matching rings. gemma found hers while skye was in the hospital and started wearing it again.

- skye and gemma founded a music club in high school together.

My Very First Time Drawing Fanart of Live-Action Horror.

I actually did get a chance to watch the First Movie this Year around October during my Horror Movie Night Marathon before finally getting a chance to watch its Sequel.

Absolutely loved both smile movies. Like a bit too much. I raged with the ending of the first one. Because I loved Rose and Joel so much. But skye is so good in the second movie.

Naomi Scott needs every award in the book for this movie because DAMN.

Like I'm usually I listen to country or rock music but this is the first time I'm genuinely enjoying a pop song.

Honestly the movie themselves is funny asf. And not really scary. But I genuinely feel for Rose, Joel and Skye. How desperate they all are to defeat it and poor joel😭 bro beat it and constantly saw his ex in the back of his mind.

Absolutely love these movies. But I pray they don't do a purge or bird box where the whole population is dealing with it... cause nah. It makes it feel dull and less personal.

Recently rewatched the movie "Smile" and I've been having Thoughts™ about it.

It's a horror movie where the main gimmick is that the MC, Rose, starts seeing these "things." They look like people, but they're just hallucinations. They appear and smile at her, a wide, terrifying smile. The longer it goes on, the worse her mental state gets and the more frequently they appear.

It's a metaphor for suppressed trauma, obviously. These things that she sees are horrible, but they're smiling. And there's smiles all over the movie, usually in the background in the form of art or photos. The entity is always smiling.

I think the ending of this movie is very interesting, because Rose actually confronts her old trauma that she's let fester. She watched her mom die of a drug overdose when she was 10 and never got past it.

Interestingly, her therapist brings this up when Rose goes to her initially about the hallucinations. Rose wants a prescription, and her therapist insists that she's just stressed and her old trauma is manifesting as a result.

And the crazy thing is that her therapist is right and Rose denies it, anyway. She doesn't want to face her own memories. She wants to find a way to break the curse, she wants pills to make the visions go away, she wants the people in her life to have blind faith and believe her with no real proof.

Rose wants the easy way out of her trauma and the entity denies her. Even at the end of the movie, when she finally goes to confront it, it's too late — because Rose has already hurt others. Her trauma made her push away her ex and her fiancé, she traumatized her sister and her nephew, and her friends think that she's a danger to herself.

The damage is done. She's been dead since the beginning, because the entity never would have targeted her if she hadn't let her trauma consume her in the first place.

Trauma

summary: Trauma. that’s its kink. It loved delicious trauma. Rose Cotter was a delightful prize as he crushed her spirit easily like a grape. Now with its new host, lollipop learns that this one is harder to crack.

Trauma was what it wants.

It’s been six days since Rose Cotter has let him in, now with the newest host he was a different breed.

It follows the host who sat in a truck in front of a shady location on the outskirts of Jersey. Lollipop mentally watched over his host, slowly taking form behind him, watching. waiting even for the right moment.

His name was Joel.

And he was staring blankly at the location with a hollow hue to his once handsome face.

It licks his lips, wanting to devour him now. It’s been too damn long and he’s gone impatient.

“It’s not gonna work,”

Joel ignored the voice, unbuckling his seatbelt which made it excited as it suddenly morphed into Rose’s burning body picturing perfectly what Joel experienced at the cabin when he found her.

It stood nearby as Joel walked by.

“ughh! you are supposed to fear me!

Lollipop follows where Joel was heading with a gun pointed at a russian man luring him into the unfinished location at gunpoint.

It morphed into Rose again.

“Joel.” It spoke in her voice trying to pull its strings but Joel had stayed focus forcing the russian male further inside making it even more impatient.

“Touch it and he’s fucking dead.”

It growled impatiently as his current host was messing with the pattern. time was ticking. The Russian was gonna be dead if it doesn’t do something fast.

It shapeshifted to get an emotional response from him, morphing into the young mother who was gunned down by Yev and Alexie.

With its respective skin, it quietly stood against the wall watching Joel as he still had Alexie at knifepoint. Slinking over in this skin, its eyes shifted to the escalated scene with widen eyes.

“I have something to give ya.”

“No!” Lollipop screams, peeling off the skin.

Glaring, the entity shifted into Rose again.

“Joel, please we can be together again.” It says in Rose’s voice.

Joel had no response to give, solemnly focused on Alexie and Yev, quickly flashing a small smile beneath the ski mask. “But you need to watch what I’m doing.”

Lollipop gasps, feeling as if it was mocking him.

It peels its skin off, long slimy fingers peeling apart skin after skin of all the people it’s devoured.

Joel’s supposed to be next.

“You watching?”

Lollipop growls as Yev suddenly screams as Joel plunged the knife in Alexie’s stomach several times, blood spews from his mouth and stomach as he drags the knife up to Alexie’s throat.

Squelching sound erupts as Joel slit Alexis’s throat wide open.

“NO!!!!!!!!!”

Lollipop roars, its skin shifting to Rose and back to the woman Yev had gunned down.

Alexie gurgles, slumping forward blood spilling around his corpse.

“You stupid American!” Yev roars, pulling the trigger until Joel goes first, shooting the man in the head.

Brains splatter all over Joel and the entity’s screams began to suddenly fade as Yev’s body drops.

Joel stood over the bodies of the criminals, erratically breathing, edging away from the scene as bile rose in his throat as he ran out the door.

His frantic breathing picked up as he scrambled in his truck and drove away from the scene in a quickened manner.

Its voices were gone as Joel felt in control of his own mind. It’s alarming how fast you can change in just six days.

Once he got back to his apartment, he began to frantically peel his bloodied clothes off him before getting in the shower before slowly sliding down the tiled wall as the water soaked his body.

He stared blankly at the drain as its red.

It’s a sea of red.
